I’m contacting you today to ask that you oppose the “one big beautiful bill” HR1. If it passes, HR1 will cut funding from medicaid, SNAP, and student aid. This would prevent millions of americans from accessing healthcare, education, and even food. These are human rights. In addition to budget cuts, HR1 would stop medicaid from covering gender-affirming healthcare for all americans. House Republicans struck the word “minors” from this section, meaning that trans people of any age will not be able to receive healthcare critical to our survival through medicaid.

Not only would HR1 slash the budget of programs that support americans, it would also give billions of dollars to ICE to kidnap, detain, torture, and deport people without due process. Due process is a constitutional right, and ICE should not be able to take that away. For all of these reasons, I am asking that you respect the demands of your constituents and oppose HR1.

Idk if anyone has already posted this link, but everyone needs to see the videos in it. In the video, chatgpt's analysis of that big, stupid bill the gops are voting for is read. It's not good.

I'm not normally someone who uses AI for anything, but this is one good way to make use of it. It's a tool that should work for us, but not as us. This is how it should be used.

There are other analyses of the bill. They should also be sought out and read/listened to. More analyses mean we have a better picture of what this bill is going to do to the U.S.A.

Big cuts to Medicaid ~8 million people will have their medical care coverage taken away (to make the rich richer)

Tax cuts that will ultimately benefit ONLY the very rich

Energy and climate provisions to cut protections for our environment (to make it so companies can pollute all they want so they can be richer)

Defunding Planned Parenthood

Immigrants could be forced to pay $1,000 to claim asylum -- just one way they've cooked up to fund immigration enforcement

A ban on regulation of AI for 10 years (this one is a head scratcher - we NEED to legislate to control AI)

Millions will lose their access to SNAP (food stamps) benefits

Rich people will get richer and richer; the poor will get poorer and poorer and/or die

We need to do something. Call your congress people. Email, maybe. However we can get it across. The senate MUST NOT pass this!

If you think you can do calls, try 5calls. They make it really easy. Here's another one that's easy to use - it has an interactive map.

Dysphoria (2025)

This is a repaint of an illustration I first posted right here on this account over a decade ago when I first transitioned. I did this for TDOV this year as a sort of 'then vs now' for myself more than anything. A lot has changed in a decade. I've changed.

A decade ago visibility felt like liberation, but today it feels like a target. A decade ago politicians made a lot of promises to us, and today they can't run away from us fast enough. A decade ago I was crashing out in a dysphoria spiral. Today, in spite of everything, I'm at peace with myself.

It's Pride Month in the States and the Trans community is going through it. Between the Skrmetti decision and the threat of HR1 stripping care from Trans people of ALL ages on Medicaid and ACA plans, Trans people need support more than ever.

So I'm making this illustration available as a print in my shop and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Point of Pride, an organization dedicated to providing financial aid for transition care. I'll post receipts of funds donated at the end of the month.

I'm aiming to raise at least $2000, as that's the amount needed to cover 12 months of telehealth services, prescription medications, lab work, and more for at least one trans person in need of HRT.

Transition care really IS life saving, it saved MY life. I wouldn't have lived to make any of the art that people have told me they love so much. My whole portfolio, all my work over the years, none of it would exist. If my art has ever meant anything to you, please, help.

THE GOOD NEWS:

The anti-trans provision in HR1 was removed *by republicans*, who realized the bill likely couldnt pass with it

THE BAD NEWS:

It passed Senate, and still has fucktons of other bullshit, and is going to further cement Trump's dictatorship

THE GOOD NEWS:

It BARELY passed Senate (JD Vance had to give a tiebreaker vote) and its even more unpopular in the House of Reps these days, which means its unlikely they'll pass it (at least as-is)

THE BEST NEWS:

Elon Musk is back to openly feuding with Trump over this, appears to be actually seriously putting his immeasurable funds toward primarying every single republican who voted on this, and forming a new "America Party" (Which is great because it'll split the vote for Republicans going forward)
