I am neurodivergent but i'll never find my place in the neurodivergent community, and i hate it.

In my country, they call my neurodivergence 'very hig intellectual potential' (thpi) and it sucks i can't talk about it because if i try to mention it or anything it sounds like bragging. It is recognized as a neurodivergency in my country, but it has no english-speaking equivalent because my government decided that they needed some brand new labels or something ?? and they decided to call it like that i hate it. idk it's just bullshit

I live it like a low support need autism or audhd, so i sometimes lurk their tags and content, but i don't feel adequate, like i know i shouldn't be here. I'm not diagnosed with autism, so i don't feel like i should be here. They say thpi share many similar traits with autism, some people say it's like a part of the autism spectrum and some people say it's two completely different things. I don't know what to think about that, i just wish i had a place to talk about my experiences without feeling like the scum of the earth.

It doesn't help that there's a popular tv series called it and now people believe it's a fad. I was diagnosed 15 years before the first season aired, it's not a quirky thing to feel special. i hate those "your kid is not hpi you're just rich" articles whenever i look for people like me. Because my single mother on a teacher's salary is definitely rich enough to get me diagnosed for funsies. I wish all those people were in my brain when i'm struggling to talk even to my best friends, or when i wanted to die at 13yo, maybe they'd see it's not just a fun quirky way to get your kid noticed.

Watching HPI when you live in Lille is mind-blowing because sometimes I will see something and my monkey brain goes WAIT hold up I saw that thing before. And it was in a fucking HPI episode . (It happened twice or more maybe)

Plus that one time I went to school and they were something weird happening in my neighborhood l and when I go home my sister goes like 'yeah that series you like ?that one I saw you watching every week.They filmed something there' like WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS ONLY NOW when I got back home at the ass crack of down and not text me?
