Oh Christmas tree

Each and every year the professors of Hogwarts would be prepare the whole castle for the holidays. A few would go into the forbidden forest to chop down a few pine trees and move them in to the castle. Others would decorate the trees. And others again would hang mistletoe around the castle and further decorations.

For Ron it would be the first time he would join the festivities. He had chosen to decorate the trees, remembering how he loved to do it as a child with the whole family.

It was his first year as flying coach at the castle after he quit at the national team. He had hated the fame and being apart from family so much. Now he could visit his family whenever he wanted and he actually lived together with his lovely wife together at Hogwarts.

Yes Hermione Granger was the librarian of Hogwarts, since Madam Prince retired 5 years ago. She too would be decorating the trees.

Right now they were both waiting in the great hall as Hagrid put the biggest tree in his holder so it would stand straight.

"Alright have fun ya people," the giant said, before walking out again.

"Ron and Hermione will do the biggest one at the centre of the hall. Filius and I will do the smaller ones." Minerva said.

"So silver or golden lights?" Hermione asked once they were in front of the right tree.

He thought for a bit, before deciding on gold, with a wave of the witches wand the tree was covered in lights.

"We should probably add the ornaments together. Otherwise it will be too much work. Let's keep to the house colors yes?" Ron suggested.

Hermione nodded and they got to work. Soon the tree was covered in tints of red, green, yellow and blue. With one final wave of his wand, some silver spinsel was placed over the tree branches. Both looked at their work with a smile on their face.

"It looks great."

"That it does."

Just then the first mistletoe appeared above them. With a grin Ron leaned down and kissed Hermione.

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. fandoms: I think I’ve written only in Harry Potter with maybe a couple of drabbles or headcanons in Red, White, and Royal Blue. I’ve (recently) read mainly drarry, wolfstar, some HP rarepairs, and then firstprince (RWRB).

where you post: I usually post drabbles/headcanons/bullet points here and fics on ao3, then once in a while add the drabbles to ao3. then I’ll also do a post on tumblr for any longer fics I publish on ao3.

most popular one-shot: going by kudos on ao3, like this and like this - my first-ever fest submission :) also when checking this, I saw it just pushed over 10k hits, omg!!!

most popular multi-chapter: I have one permanently-incomplete multichap, Carrying, which will stay at 2/? probably forever. I kind of lost all interest in it. warning, it’s mpreg (which is not really my thing, idk why I wrote it). I’ve considered orphaning it, but I’ll keep it around. 

favorite story I’ve written so far: this is tough because I love so many of them. probably a tie between Wednesdays and kiss me in the doorway, with a close second tie between like this and apple juice and peach. 

fic you were nervous to post: like this and like this was for sure the most nerve-wracking. I love writing smut and admittedly I write a lot of it, but that was my first full-length fic to publish. I’d read some great @hpkinkfest fics the year before and I was worried mine wouldn’t measure up. also Harry’s feelings are very much my own, and I wasn’t sure if it was coming through clearly for the reader.

how do you choose your titles: ugh. like everyone else, I’m terrible at titles. usually a poem or song lyric. I also have a note in my phone of title ideas just waiting for fics to attach :) usually I write first and title later, but sometimes the title just springs into the google doc somehow.

do you outline: what’s an outline? but for real, I have a degree in English and my professors would be HORRIFIED to see the way I write my fics. I like what @kittycargo said and I do something similar - writing some paragraphs as if I’m describing it to a friend. here’s what I had “outlined” for kmitd:

complete: I don’t really know what this question means so I’ll go with - my last complete/published fic is Home is Where the Nifflers Are, an ultra-fluffy domestic fic centered around drarry opening a magical wildlife rescue. I wrote that for my partner, who won a drabble raffle a while back. 

in progress: real life is desperately trying to distract me, but I’m hoping to get a drabble done for @wireless-festive-minifest this week. I also have two...three...? WIPs I want to finish this winter.

coming soon: I’m doing an anon fest and have half an outline (!!!) and a few pages written for that. otherwise, who knows? 

prompts: I love prompts! I have maybe 10 sitting in my inbox (shhh) but hey, when the mood strikes me, it’s lovely to have something to go off of <3

Santa Claus is coming

Harry and godson Teddy Lupin visit Santa Claus. Based on the song: Santa Claus is coming to town. Written for the @wireless-festive-minifest. Thank you for the beta @keyflight790 ♥️

"Come on Harry! We have to hurry up, otherwise Santa already will be gone!" Teddy tugged at his godfathers arm, trying to make him walk faster. 

"We're almost there, Teddy. Calm down. I'm sure Santa will have time for everyone." 

Teddy pouted at this, but cheered up as he finally saw Santa. The white haired man was seated on a big chair, with house elves surrounding him, each elf dressed in little green suits or dresses. The ultimate sign that they belonged to Santa Claus. 

He let go of Harry's hand and ran forward. Only to stop again to stand in line. It wasn't long before he was joined by Harry, who was frowning slightly. 

"Edward Lupin. We do not just run away without permission," the man lectured him. 

"I'm sorry, Harry." He apologized, which was accepted with a nod. 

He normally didn't run away, always sticking close to his grandma or godfather, but this was just so exciting! Santa only came to town once a year! And he had to be sure that Santa knew what he wanted for Christmas, telling the man personally was truly the best option! 

It was only a few minutes later, and he was called forward. Carefully so he wouldn't fall, he made way to Santa, before sitting down on the man's knee. Harry only stood a bit away. 

"So young man, have you been good this year?" Santa asked him, at which he nodded enthusiastically. 

"Alright then. What would you like for Christmas?" 

At this he pondered for a bit before answering. "I would like a broom. Oh and the new magical creatures book!" he gave Santa hopeful eyes. 

"I'm sure that can be arranged. Are those all that you wish for?" 

"Uhm I would like a really nice boyfriend for Harry too! He is my godfather and he is the best! He deserves a boyfriend who will love him like he loves me! And maybe a bit more." Teddy nodded. "That’s him." At this point, he pointed over to Harry and only dropped his arm again once he was sure Santa saw Harry too. 

"I will do my best, child." and with those words he was placed back on the ground. With one final wave to Santa and the elves, he walked back to Harry. 

"Why did you point at me, bub?" Harry asked. 

"Oh I asked Santa for a boyfriend for you! He needed to know who you were." and without taking notice of his godfathers sputtering he started to walk back to the car.
