earlier on in your relationship howl… well he wasn’t the ideal person to go to if you needed or wanted help or any sort of emotional support when it came to your cycle

like yes he’d offer you potions and spells to ease your pain (as much as he hated to admit it, he did genuinely care for you and didn’t want to see you in agony all day) but otherwise he tended to avoid you entirely unless he needed to speak to you

he’d leave you to clean up after yourself, discourage you from talking about your symptoms, and just let you handle everything yourself — you’d be fine on your own, he reasoned, so he was fine to go off and do whatever it was he usually did when you were too busy to join him

but once he started to mature as a person and outgrew his more selfish tendencies, howl became an incredibly loving and attentive partner — both in general and specifically when it came to your periods

he makes sure to stock up on everything you’ll need well in advance of your period coming, masters more mild versions of heat and cold spells to offer more specific support for your aches and pains, and learns how to wash blood out of fabric so that he can just focus on taking care of you without having to rely on your guidance for simple things when you should be resting

(even if he’s still not the most comfortable with blood — he just reminds himself that he’s doing it for you and pushes through that discomfort with the reassurance that he’s earning your appreciation and affection by doing all of this)

really he does whatever he can to make sure you’re as comfortable and as stress-free as possible throughout your period — taking your advice and suggestions to heart so that he can be the best partner, and the best person in general, that he can be

whether that means running you a bath and lighting your favourite scented candles, going out to the nearest market and buying you whatever food you’re craving, or sitting in bed and cuddling with you until you fall asleep, howl is more than happy to do it if only you ask

FANTASY VERSES: JJK EDITION!

satoru gojō: satoru comes from a family of well known magic users and possesses two great abilities that haven’t been seen together in his family for a long time. because of this, his family attempts to keep him hidden because of his sheer strength that only grows as he gets older ( exactly like his canon ). once he becomes of age, satoru leaves his family’s kingdom / realm / territory to travel around, helping people and charming them. he maintains his reputation as an incredibly strong magic user / sorcerer, but he also gains a reputation of being charming almost to annoyance or falsity. his real self is masked behind a charming façade which is only dropped once he feels loved and offers that love in return, whether it be platonic or romantic.

suguru getō: suguru was born as the only magic user in his entire clan, and decided to leave as a teenager to find someone to train him. his arc ends in one of two ways: the first way, he comes to resent non - magic users for how they treat him and other users and he avoids them at all costs, living with others who feel the same and scheming a way to build a world without them. the second, he is able to find help and support with his feelings of resentment and moves to a small village to raise his daughters. his daughters are present in both versions of this verse as they are incredibly important to who he is as a person and to his character development.

nanami kento: nanami kento grew up in a family of magic users and was expected to use it to help people. he decided, however, it wasn’t for him as a young adult and moved to a larger city in his kingdom / realm / territory to do more administrative work for his king or queen, depending on the specific universe. however, nanami soon began to find this work dull and found himself yearning for the gratification that came from helping people with his magic. because he cannot quit his position in the kingdom, likely because he becomes a lord, he moonlights as a mercenary of sorts and helps others with his magic under the cover of night.

They've solved the mysteries behind their curses and living happily but imagine:

Sophie has a moment or two of self-doubt, a stressful event, and a few more wrinkles show up. Nothing drastic, but noticeable. A little bit of cuddles and reassurance from Howl, and she's set right.

Howl starts overusing his magic without realizing, and there's a few feathers on his arm or neck. Sophie reminding him not to go overboard and take a break(along with a kiss or two cause your boy is down bad) helps him calm down.

What I'm saying is their curses are representations of their mental issues and sometimes they show themselves a little more physically

Regressor!Howl Headcanons

Now, Howl couldn't exactly say when it was that he started regressing—his headspace has always been very fluid, and it's not exactly like he felt the need to mark the date or note the event that triggered his regression for the first time. Because like with much of his life, it sort of just happened upon him, simultaneously ordinary and yet utterly remarkable as a great many things are. But what he can (and will!) say is that he is a big kid! Most of the time he averages about six or seven years old when he is regressed, but he will slide on down to a precocious four should certain conditions be met and the stars align just so—if you count things like missing lunch because he was too busy playing and getting hangry as a result as the stars aligning, that is. Though this tendency to slip to a lower four is something that he is in a bit of denial about, and if asked how old he is he will answer that he's seven regardless of whether or not that is strictly true at the moment. And he is seven!...sometimes, at least. So it isn't technically a lie, is it? What matters to Howl is that he can maintain his lifestyle of remaining free and unhindered; he's a big boy who can take care of himself, so he doesn't need anyone telling him what to do.

As such, being the the independent big kid that he believed himself to be, he didn't really seek out a caregiver. That is until Sophie came along. She inserted herself seamlessly into his life, and so the fact that she started minding after him more than she probably would otherwise went unnoticed at first. She was making sure he ate regularly, cleaning up his messes that spanned the entire castle, and checking on him even when nobody had asked her. Mostly because something told her he needed someone to mind after him; it isn't until later when she catches him playing with Markl that she makes the connection that perhaps she feels that way because it's something that Howl needs. She watches to be certain, noting how they play together more like peers than like a master entertaining his young apprentice—or maybe not quite peers, as it appears Markl redirects a fussy Howl without even noticing, reminding him that he has to play fair when it seems the boy tries to make up new rules on the spot to suit his needs—and decides to test the waters a little by treating them more similarly for the rest of the afternoon. Much to Sophie's surprise he responds well to the subtle changes in her doting on him. But none are as surprised as Howl himself, because he finds that he actually likes having someone take care of him.

Howl has a tendency to tell tall-tales when he's small, exaggerating every small detail until he's left with something truly fantastical. It isn't necessarily harmful per se—after all, it does show a certain degree of creativity, and he isn't exactly lying about anything that could result in someone getting hurt. But it is a habit that Sophie would like to redirect in some way, given that a large part of this appears to stem from how he perceives himself battling with the way he wishes to be perceived by others. And while his recounting of his many escapades fall victim to this, it's a rather small lie that truly worries Sophie. One that she catches him in early on in fact when she asks him about his regression to try and find out if he's comfortable with her helping him while he's feeling small. A defensively huffed all wizards regress is the near-immediate answer, the way insistence of the "fact" bleeds into a desperation as if begging her to believe him definitely creates a spike of concern in her chest. While not outright correcting him (as it would only cause him a lot of distress), Sophie makes sure that she works with him so that he learns that not everybody regresses, and that it is okay that he does—it doesn't make him any less Howl, if anything it makes him more Howl.

Whether or not small Howl picks up on Sophie's desire to help him is unclear, but what is clear is that small Howl wants to be Sophie's little helper. Wants to help her so so badly, all in an effort to impress her. Sophie does everything! She's amazing and he loves her so much! Surely he can help. Though as it turns out it would be more apt to call him her little troublemaker, given that he often winds up underfoot and accidentally makes extra work for her instead. It isn't as if Howl means to of course, he is just a very involved kid that gets into everything he possibly can. But she doesn't really mind it much, knowing he means well; she often will come up with little tasks specifically for Howl to both keep him occupied and make her job as his cg run a bit more smoothly. Moreover, Sophie often feels that it is the opposite way around and that she is a toddler's assistant—running behind him and picking up his messes, telling him when it's time for a nap, fixing him his lunch (and making sure he actually eats it), helping him manage those big emotions.

On the topic of big emotions, Howl can be a little bit fussy at times. He's very particular about things being a certain way and can get haughty as a result. Things should go his way, they are always better if they go his way! Or so he believes. The little huff-puffs he gives are the first warning sign of a tantrum being imminent, followed either by frustrated tears or an utter shutdown as his emotions overtake him. Both options are a bit not good, though the former sees him remaining verbal and not completely despondent. Before meeting her, he would just have to let the meltdowns run their course and ride it out on his own. With Sophie entering his life however, she seemingly knows exactly how to diffuse the situation and begin to bring him back down to a calmer state. It's during this time that he hits that lower end of his age range, and so Howl only whines a little about how he can take care of himself as she gets him a quick bath and then settled in bed with his stuffies, too tired and worn out from his emotional outburst to keep up his usual high energy. It's easier to let Sophie guide him down and into dreamland than to let his upset keep its vice grip on him, her guidance a reprieve from how unsure his emotions can make him feel.

Although Sophie tends to be more lenient (extremely lenient, some Calcifer might say), there are definitely times where she takes a firmer approach with him, usually out of concern for his own safety. This typically occurs when, ever convinced of his maturity and confident in his abilities, Howl decides to use his magic while he's small. Most of the time it's only small spells, things only meant to entertain himself and Markl, like changing the colors or sizes of things. But there are others times as well, times when he attempts to use forms of magic that really should be reserved for his big self only. It is a dangerous thing when a seven-year-old gets a wild hair and decides to move the entire castle on a whim and make it to where one of the doorways open up next to an ice-cream shop. There's a lot of chaos when this happens, everything shaking as a child's unrefined magic makes the necessary spatial transition coupled with the gleeful laughter from a far too pleased Howl as it works. But before he can run out the door and acquire the coveted ice-cream cone that he pulled this little stunt for, Sophie has grabbed him by his collar and is giving him a good scolding. He could have gotten himself hurt, could have gotten them all hurt, why didn't he wait or get help if he really wanted to move the castle that badly? However Howl genuinely doesn't understand why doing magic when he's regressed isn't necessarily a good idea, and so the scolding earns her a hiccupy little guy that promises he won't do it again. (He immediately forgets this promise and will do it again, but it's the thought that counts!)

Even with Sophie picking up after him, the castle can, at best, be described as cluttercore. This kid has collections, collections upon collections even with everything arranged just so, believe it or not. The cluttercore nature of the castle however lends rather well to a certain game: hide-and-seek. According to Howl this is the best game to play, and Markl seems to agree—games of hide-and-seek can last for hours if they play in the castle, but especially if they include the areas outside the castle as well. Though Sophie has asked that they stop hiding in the towns where they have their storefronts set up, this perhaps leads to her inclusion in their game; with her being a something of a worrier, she tends to act as their seeker most days. It allows her to keep an eye on Howl (with a little help from Calcifer, of course, who is more than willing to help point her in the right direction when he can if it means keeping Howl in check). Plus, it allows Howl to be a hider! While he is a strong proponent of the game being The Best EverTM, Howl only wants to play if he can hide! It isn't fun having to be the seeker for him since he gets so easily frustrated. He gets so stompy if he has to be the seeker and whines that his talents as a hider are being wasted.

Howl Pendragon x reader

It feels like the exhaustion is trying to imbed itself within his bones.

Howl struggles past the front door, His feet dragging as the castle door close with a resounding ding! signaling a new and hopefully much more calming scenery outside. He can't think of that now though.

bed, sleep, rest..now...

he could topple over at any moment.

The aroma of hot savory onion soup overtook his senses, he could almost feel the heady warmth of the liquid down his throat, burning away the worries and hardships of the day leaving him sated and drowsy. He could barely wait.

"Oh no you don't." Suddenly, soup didn't seem all that important.

Nimble fingers slip past his shoulders, pushing away his coat and fussing with its buttons. Howl's eyes landed on you blearily as he called out your name dreamily while reaching for you, his fingers smoothing out over any exposed skin he could reach and nuzzling into your blushing neck.

"Missed you." He mumbles quietly, his breath tickling you slightly. He pulled you in tighter as if trying to carve himself into you, trying to mold your bodies and souls into one. Too bad your offending apron and clothes prevented him.

"Poor baby." You coo as you brush through his hair, fingers carding through messily strewn strands and pressing into worn out muscles. "Okay time for a bath, then dinner."

"Nooo diner-"

"No, c'mere." You grinned with an air of finality, ushering him up the stairs ensuring he doesn't try flopping onto the cushy sofas in front of a grumbling calcifer, you're too used to his tricks and it comforts him to fall into your familiar routine. You sneak some more wood to the fire demon, a silent promise from his side to keep the thick onion soup bubbling and the bathtub upstairs equally toasty.

Howl's staring into the soapy water, helplessly letting you wash his hair and scrub the grime off his skin, occasionally he plays with your free hand. you're both so very naked, so very vulnerable yet peacefully cleaning and gently caring for each other. A silly smile overtakes his lips as he remembers his flirtatious attempt for more...unorthodox intentions while you rolled your eyes and cheekily pushed him into the tub.

It should feel like a snug fit in the tub but magic has its perks and you're both settled into a pool of bubbles that would comfortably fit around three to four people. Howl shivers once more while you splashed water onto his richly dark hair. It hung limply over his eyes as you rubbed his back and pressed deliciously into his taught tendons, it took everything in him to not wantonly moan into your ear so he only let soft ragged breaths escape him as he gripped at your palms where you were sat behind him.

He could feel your smirk. You truly were his undoing.

Just as howl was about to let his eyes fall close and sleep to overtake him you pushed at his shoulders and complained loudly.

"Bath time is over you big oaf, get off i cant breath!"

Howl immediately saw his opening to tease you.

"I don’t know” He airly replied, slumping further into you while pretending to sleep and become dead-weight on top of your struggling form “It’s so comfortable here, I could just rest for a while~”

“Howl.” You warned.

“You wouldn’t mind right?”

You tugged at his hair with slight harshness

“Ouch!”

“Out! You’re clean. Now stop pouting.”

Finally in fresh night-clothes, bellies full of soup and crunchy buttery toast, you're longing for sleep but the need to be in each others presence is stronger so you move to the living room in front of calcifer's hearth as he grumbles away about how much work he does around the castle. Howl shushes him with more firewood while you tuck little Markle to bed, before returning to cuddle up on the loveseat with a blanket wrapped round to stay cozy.

Eventually you find yourself preening through Howl's nearly-dry hair again whilst he settles his head against your chest and the rest of his body lays between your open thighs with his back facing you. All is quiet for a moment, only calcifer's crackling and your calming breaths fill the room as you rub at his scalp and untangle stray locks when a thought strikes you.

"Howl, dear."

"Hmm?" He hums tiredly letting one eye open.

"You know, you're a lot like a bird." You put a finger over his lips before he starts scowling about his more beastly raven-like form " In the sense that you always like your hair played with, a lot like how birds like their feathers preened. Especially by their bird partner."

You smiled down at him openly, he couldn't help but smile back.

"Oh? So that makes you my bird partner now, doesn't it?" He had one eyebrow raised while peeking up at you.

"Of course." You grinned, playing along.

"We'd make wonderful Swans then." He said with a serious expression.

"Why is that?" You blinked curiously, wondering why he was reaching closer for your face.

"Because they mate for life.''

and he followed his silent promise with a deep kiss.

Lucifer: The Peacock

- I think his wings should have eyes in them like its such a missed opportunity for a reference to his animal counterpart (peacock), a reference to biblical angels and a reference to the fact that he always somehow knows what everyone’s up to and what their ulterior motives are. Ik he has a few on his outfit but it just doesn’t give that otherworldly creature dread feeling you should get when looking at a demon (Not to go on a tangent but when I see a hot demon character I want to be afraid of them but then go “wait why is this hot”)

- Also while he technically has 4 wings, I think that when he flares out his wings they should expand in such a way that makes it appear like he has more

- I imagine his wings stretch out and look bigger whenever he feels proud of and satisfied with himself— esp when he’s around you; its cute tbh but he also does it when hes super pissed; are you gonna take that chance? 🤔

- Imagine if the little diamond on his forehead was a closed eye and every now and again it opens especially when he feels as if his pride is threatened or when he’s generally angry. Personally I think that would be sick af

- I KNOW THE MARKINGS ARE JUST LIKE BIRTHMARKS BUT IMAGINE THEY FEEL DIFFERENT FROM THE NORMAL SKIN like Lucifer’s markings could be feathers covering his jaw and below (see: Howl Pendragon bird form, kinda) and they feel like real feathers too

- I think we all agree that whenever he feels protective of you he’d wrap his wings around you and shield you from anyone’s view but his own

- Keeps a feather on you (probably gives it to you as a gift) so he can keep an eye on you at all times (This is not a pun; imo he can see through the eyes on his wings when he closes his main eyes and opens his third)

- Pact mark spans from the nape of your neck to about 1/3 your spine (pretty big but not humongous) and is in the shape of a peacock feather but when his powers/benefits are used the barbs of the feather move in a way similar to fire and the eye in the center opens (it kinda tickles and/or sends a chill down your spine)

- Pact mark allows him to locate you in pretty much any place without an uber powerful magic barrier or like interference (Which I think would make sense considering he always knows what’s up + he DID say making a pact with him entails you are his and he is yours [since you can summon him wnv I think and command him to do stuff])

- Something he already does but I just noticed lines up with peacocks is tilting his head when he’s sick of everyone’s shit

- OH MY GODDDDD HIS WINGS DRAPE DOWN LIKE PEACOCK TAIL FEATHERS. HE HAS LONG WINGS. LOOK AT THIS AND TELL ME THAT SHIT WOULDN’T BE MAJESTIC AS HELL ON HIM

Mammon: The Corvid

- I think his wings are nicely placed but I would make them curl/angle upwards more to more resemble bird wings (Ik Lucifer is the bird wing guy but hes a bird too 😞😞) kinda like this

- I think that while the bones are exposed on his wings, on the back of the wings there should be patches of feathers showing he lost them in his fall from grace aaaa 😫😫😫

- I know the demons have either wings or tails but like. Entertain this thought: Mammon with cute lil tail feathers 😭😭 mammon with a bird tail would just fit so well im sorry

- He subconsciously lowers/bows his head while talking to people he respects and admires (like you and Lucifer) like laying his head down on his arm or desk or sth

- Collects stuff that looks interesting— stuff he thinks he can probably use or fix up and sell. Pretty much proven but I feel I should emphasize how bad it gets, like he needs to clean his room at least weekly or his room will be full of junk 😭 (he js like me fr)

- Great at impressions; I THINK this was included in the story at one point (?) but idk so I will mention it here. Give him a voice and he can mimic it pretty well (Brothers would def use this to their advantage for silly little schemes if mammon weren’t charging an arm and a leg for his services gn)

- Will engage in anything he finds interesting and stimulating; the reason he sucks ass in school isn’t really because hes dumb but he has a hard time focusing on shit that isnt stimulating (that’s kinda how it is for most people but like especially for him, he indulges heavily into freedom/temptation; usually won’t do anything he doesn’t want to)

- Blinged OUT. More rings, a gold necklace thing (those thick round ones), more ear piercings and i like the drawing someone did with his fangs being gold however ntm as the absence of such things also shows his balance between his heavenly virtue and deadly sin (Charity vs Greed) and how despite his sin he really can be a modest guy

- Markings should cover his face and be little portals that let him summon grabby hands and sometimes he gets you stuff and sends it through the portal on your body (your pact mark)

- Speaking of pact marks, I think his is on your heart or right above and is like a dripping fingerprint that turns into a full blown hand print (maybe even the monkey’s paw?) when his powers/benefits are being used; Its hard to describe the feeling but when his hand goes through it feels like you’re gagged right then and there and its a little bit hard to breathe when you first made the pact because its a little uncomfortable but as you got used to the sensation and nurtured your magic ability, your breathing went back to normal

- I promised myself I wasn’t gonna get into outfits too much because they’re. Um anyway all I’ll say is he should have some slutty bellbottoms in his demon form idgaf

Leviathan: The Serpent

- He should have poisonous spines on his tail that lie dormant but flare up whenever he feels strong emotion (embarrassment, anger, jealousy etc) and in relation to that he should have a few scales visible on his neck but more should appear leading up his face to his eye when he feels these strong emotions like his skin hardens and turns to scales (almost like how our veins bulge when we humans get very angry) it would be cool af ngl and kinda fits how his voice changes when hes annoyed (I SWEAR it gets all deep and like gravelly ig)

- ALSO i mentioned in another post but his eyes should become super snake-like (pupils slimming down) when he gets angry/envious but adding onto that, his pupils should dilate like a cat when he feels a positive emotion like excitement (though I think his pupils would dilate when looking at you lovingly, if you flustered him his pupils would constrict, not because its negative, but because he doesn’t know how to handle it)

- Grows much taller in his demon form imo since sea serpents are big as hell (he doesn’t become a giant or anything but he does grow like a foot or so which. He might as well be a giant bc hes alr pretty tall) Honestly I think all demons grow in their demon forms but he just grows an exceptional amount compared to any other demon

- Two…. Nvm iykyk fr a certified hood classic and i dont see enough of it in fics 😒

- Often accidentally sticks out his tongue while angry and bites his tongue and it just ruins the mood as well as any fear anyone had of him bye. Hes so goofy i just love him

- Long ahh tongue; snake reminiscent

- The back of his slut zip jacket should be vaguely shaped like fins + would it be wrong to say he should have slutty bellbottoms too? Can’t I dream? 💭 not as wide as Mammon’s though he’s not doing it like him fr

- Wraps his tail around you as if trying to shield you from public view with his spines whenever he gets jealous or protective

- I think it would be cool if the design on his jacket was a fishbone or if his tail was a bit translucent and showed bones inside (Ik tails don’t have bones generally but bear with me here) as a reference to how the Leviathan became a meal after being defeated

- Subconsciously moves slowly and methodically like the way he leans his head in slowly as you talk is very snake of him

- Big yawn (can open his mouth really wide)
