Nellie didn't even need to ask Kate where they were going, just turning on the radio and letting the girl stew as they drove South. Nellie found herself nodding off, waking up as they pulled into a familiar drive. The girls headed inside, going right for the water jug in the fridge. Though they tried to be quiet, they clearly didn't do well enough as they heard the floors creak.
"It's me mama," Kate called out as Kathy sighed in relief, coming through the door.
"Kate? What happened?" she asked as she looked at the two girls in front of her. "Nel, yall ok?" Kathy pulled Kate into her arms, which was what the blonde needed as she sagged into her mothers grip.
"You're ok," Kathy soothed as she opened her other arm and accepted Nellie into her embrace. The three stood there for a bit before Kate pulled back with a sniffle. "Let's get yall into bed."
Kathy offered to clean out the guest room for Nellie, but the girls protested, saying they were fine sharing. And while Kate took a shower, Nellie quietly filled Kathy in on what had been going on. When Kate got out, Nellie left her and Kathy to talk while she showered too. By the time she was done, Kathy's door was shut and Kate was laying in her bed looking at the ceiling.
Nellie laid next to her, the girls comfortable in the silence as they listened to the familiar song of the crickets and owls and cows outside. "Missed it here," Nellie whispered in the dark.
"Me too," Kate confessed back. And with that, the two girls fell into a deep sleep on their first decent mattress in days.
The next morning, Nellie woke up as she heard Kathy head out to feed the cows as the sun rose. She took her time getting out of bed, careful to keep from waking up Kate. She headed downstairs, grinning softly as she saw an extra cup of coffee sitting on the island, just like Kathy would leave it for the only other early riser in the house during her college visits.
She crept out of the house, looking across the farm in the misty air as she took a seat in her favorite rocking chair. She relished in the silence for an hour before she heard the front door close, and saw Kate head over to the barn. With a sigh, Nellie pulled herself up and walked over to join her.
"Brings back a lot of memories," Nellie said softly as she walked over to stand next to Kate. Kathy came in shortly after, as the girls were looking around.
"How yall doing?" Kathy asked.
"Just the way we left it," Kate sighed.
"Didn't know what you wanted me to do with it," Kathy said mater of factedly.
"Just throw it out," Kate said quickly.
"You done?" Kathy asked with a frown. "It's funny. I keep seeing more and more tornadoes, and floods and droughts and the price of wheat and seed going up, and up, and up. But I'm still here."
"I'm sorry mom," Kate said, and suddenly Nellie felt like an intruder. "I haven't been good about calling."
"Me either," Nellie said softly. "I should've come to check in on you."
"Naw, you get to fight with you aunt on that one," Kathy scoffed at Nellie as her phone rang."I gotta take this. Throw it away," she shook her head. "I'm still waiting on you to save the world."
Nellie and Kate puttered around for a bit, Nellie pulling out some of their old journals while Kate opened up her old project. The two of them were spooked by a voice cutting through their silence. "Build your own tornado," Tyler said as he looked at Kate's table, and at Nellie.
"Middle school science project," Kate said with a laugh.
"Must've won," Tyler said with a nod as he came to stand by Nellie, looking at the journal she was flipping through. "You write?"
"Yeah," she smiled up at him. "I used to write about all of my chases. Put in photos that Kate or I would take. Haven't looked at them in a while."
"How'd you find us?" Kate asked.
"Dexter pieced it together," Tyler admitted. "Remembered yalls name from the news a few years back. I'm sorry about your friends."
"Thank you," Nellie whispered as Kathy came in.
"I'm fixing some food, y'all ok eating outside?" she asked abruptly.
"Oh he's not-"
"I'm not-"
"Yes of course Kathy," Nellie smiled sweetly, cutting Tyler and Kate off.
"Kate, why don't you set the table," Kathy asked (ordered), the blonde following after her mother with a huff.
"So," Tyler sat down next to Nellie, spreading his legs so his knee bumped her thigh. "You're a legend huh?"
"No," she shook her head. "Not me."
"You're a Harding," Tyler scoffed. "I guarantee you were chasing when you were in diapers."
"Not quite," she laughed. "I had to wait till my brother was born."
"That must've been something," Tyler smiled. "Learning from them."
"It was," she smiled softly. "They didn't even have to teach it to me, I just had it. God I used to love riding with them."
"I met some of their old crew once," Tyler said. "Came and gave a talk at UofA. They were so cool. And I remember them talking about how chasing was changing, and the way social media was effecting the way people saw storms. And it's what made me think about starting a youtube channel."
"Honestly, I think the channel is great," Nellie admitted. "It's a great educational tool. So many people are blindsided by storms because they don't come from an area like here, that prepares them. And it can cost them."
"That's the thing," Tyler nodded. "As much as it might look like stunts and show boating from the outside, we want to help people. We want to help in the disaster zones. And the channel helps us do that."
"That's what matters," Nellie said, resting her hand on his leg. "Who cares what assholes like Scott think. What really matters is those people you help. The family whose dog you found, the woman and her daughter you helped save last night. Those are who are important."
"You're real insightful, you know that?" Tyler asked softly, leaning in.
"Thank you," Nellie whispered as she came to meet him in the middle. The two's lips were a hairsbreadth apart when the roar of an engine startled them.
"Thats a huge rig," Tyler commented as he tried to get his heart back under control.
"Oh please," Nellie almost whimpered. "Please no."
"Nellie, you okay-"
Tyler was cut off by the barn door swinging open with a screech and two figures barreling in. "Nellie June Harding," an older woman yelled as she walked in with a man at her side. "I know you didn't let me find out you were chasing again from Kathy Cooper?"
"Aunt Jo," Nellie stood up, hands out in a surrendering position. "Come on-"
"No ma'am," Jo wagged her finger in the air, while Bill held back a laugh. "We barely hear from you, other than when you show up out of the blue. You turn off from chasing even when we beg, and now, we find out you been chasing with some boyo from ARKANS-"
"Honey," Bill finally stepped in, interrupting Jo's rant. "Why don't we take a breath and introduce ourselves before you keep on hollering."
Tyler stood up immediately, holding out his hand. "Tyler Owens ma'am, sir," Nellie knew her aunt was internally pleased as Tyler greeted Jo first and then Bill. "Real nice to meet ya."
"You that tornado wrangler?" Jo wrinkled her nose.
"You know who I am?" Tyler asked in awe.
"Do I," Jo scoffed as Nellie interjected.
"Oh, Kathy's calling for dinner, let's go," and Nellie dragged a protesting Tyler out of the barn to the back table where Kathy and Kate were sitting. Nellie shoved him in a seat between her and Kate, to protect him from her aunt. Jo gave the table 15 minutes of peace before she leapt back in.
"You two back at it?" Jo asked as she chewed her sandwich, eyeing Kate and Nellie.
"No," Nellie denied. "We came out to help a friend. But things have gotten, tricky."
"Yeah, Kathy mentioned Storm Par," Bill sighed. "Wish yall would've called. We could've let you know about Riggs."
"I'm sorry," Nellie whispered. "I haven't been good to yall recently. It's just been-"
"Hard," Jo choked out, grabbing Bill's hand. "We miss them too honey. Every day."
"What's going on?" Kate asked the three Hardings. "Is everyone ok? Ethan and your parents?"
"There was a storm," Bill said gruffly as Nellie's eyes began to well. "Two years after your accident. You know my sister, she never did worry about storm prepping. So they were home, Ethan in town from school. EF4 came through. They never stood a chance."
"Nellie," Kate choked out as Kathy looked down at her own plate. "Why wouldn't you-"
"I'm gonna go grab more drinks," Nellie hopped up, rushing inside the house and leaving the tense air behind her. She practically dove into the bathroom, closing the door and sliding down agains the tub as she finally let her sobs out. Her own heartbeat was so loud in her ears she didn't even hear the door open, but she felt her aunt sit down next to her.
"It's okay Nellie girl," Jo cooed as she wrapped her arms around the sobbing woman. "Let it out."
"I miss Ethan," Nellie sniffled after a minute. "I wish I got to see him graduate, and take him on that chase he was always begging us for."
"Me too honey," Jo smiled wetly. "Me too. But you know he's here with us. And he wouldn't want you to be doing what you're doing. He'd want you to keep chasing what makes you happy, what makes your heart hum. And baby, we all know you've just been going through the motions, okay? And you gotta come back to us."
"I know," she smiled through her own tears. "This week, the storms. I've felt it again. That feeling we always used to talk about. That buzz."
"Good honey," Jo pulled her into a hug again. "Now, whatdya say we go finish our dinner." The women walked outside, and the rest of the table was kind enough not to comment on the lack of fresh drinks and the ladies tear stained cheeks. Eventually the conversation was on happier topics, and of course moved onto to talking about chasing.
"Everyone's gotta have it, that instinct," Tyler said with a laugh.
"Aw yeah, Kate's always had that," Kathy said.
"Nellie too," Bill grinned. "One time she was sitting on her horse, doing barrels and she pulled up, turned the horse around and ran right outta the paddock. We were inside and at 10 years old she knew a storm was building and she just had to see it."
"Quit," Nellie whined as she hid her face in her hands. "Kathy tell the Kate bath tub story." As Kathy embarrassed Kate, Tyler laughed and leaned back in his seat, tossing his arm around Nellie's chair.
"What about you Tyler?" Kathy asked. "How'd you come to do this work?"
"Well, when you love something you'll spend your whole life trying to understand it," Tyler said with a smile, his face turning pink as Nellie leaned into his arm.
"Kate was studying for her PhD," Kathy said proudly. "Keep telling her to go back and finish."
"Disrupting tornado dynamics," Jo shook her head. "the damndest thing." This time it was Kate who left the table, rather than be reminded of the theories that had led to that fateful chase. Nellie watched as Kate went inside with some plates, before turning to Jo and Bill.
"Where yall at this week?"
"Home," Jo smiled. "You come over to see us in a few days ok? I know you've got some things to finish up."
"I will," she said with a big smile, getting up and rounding the table to hug the two of them. "We can make some of Meg's food."
"Thank god," Bill groaned as he ruffled Nellie's hair. "Missed your cooking sweet pea."
And with that, Nellie and Tyler helped stack plates before Kathy asked Nellie to show the boy Kate's work in the barn. "She's gonna be upset," Nellie warned as Tyler flipped through her note book.
"I mean, yall thought you could disrupt a tornado," Tyler said as Kate opened up the door.
"Don't look at that," she protested.
"You're the OG wrangler," Tyler sang, sliding away from Kate. He read some of the theories out loud, commenting on some of the work.
"Modeling has gotten so much better," Tyler offered. "I could upload this, rerun it. I mean, how could yall not tell me about this-"
"Because I got it wrong!" Nellie watched as Kate got emotional. "In the field, when it mattered, I got it wrong. I pushed it too far, and for what? A dream to make a difference? It was never going to work. And I have to live with that forever."
"You know," Tyler said lowly. "EF1 or EF5 rating. It's not based on size or win speed. The power is based on damage. And it's only after the fact we can define it. What it destroys, what it takes. I'm sorry that it happened. But how much more will y'all let this thing take from y'all?"
"You should get some sleep," Kate said tightly. "Don't want to miss any storms tomorrow."
Tyler sighed and Nellie walked over to place a hand on his back, ushering him out as he put the notebook down. "I'm sorry," he apologized as they walked into the house. "I pushed too hard."
"You didn't," Nellie shook her head as she looked up at him in the light of the dim kitchen lamp. "You pushed just enough." And with that, Nellie left him with a sweet kiss on the cheek, and headed to bed.

Impulse thinks he might've started seeing things early this time.
It happens at least once a season at this rate, so it's not really a surprise on that side of things. And it's not as bad as the boogeyman clock-ticking he's heard twice now, so, he'll take it, just... it hasn't even been a full session yet?
He'd like to say it started when he ended up tag-teaming with Gem and Scott, but the truth is, that's not quite it. It started when he got his task and ended up in the cherry grove up there, and that little part of him he knows is basically a ghost detector went this task isn't so bad -- maybe people will actually trust me this time! There's never been a bad guy who built with cherrywood, right?
Really weird thing for a ghost detector sense to say. But then Gem and Scott caught up, and they sort of just fell into a natural alliance, and yeah -- Impulse looks at their location-in-progress and thinks we're gonna be the good guys this season, and for a split second feels this headache.
Then it's gone.
It happens again when Skizz visits, which is probably part of a task, but all Impulse knows is... he walks up to Skizz while he's saying "I've been that guy, that all I do is tell the truth, and I'm a loyal sword -- I think I might be the guy that just wants to lie to everybody and just be a jerk!"
Knee-jerk response: "Nah. Don't love that idea. Hate it."
Internal ghost-detector response: I mean, who says those things are mutually exclusive?
Impulse has to stop himself from whipping around fully at the voice, which sounds almost like Scott, except Scott isn't behind them right now -- just Jimmy, and past that the cherrywood trees. He thinks for a second there might be a flash of red among all those pink blossoms. He shrugs it off as Grian skulking around, even though he knows Grian doesn't have pink hair.
A few minutes later, he knows it definitely wasn't Scott, because the guy shows up to immediately point out a zombie villager appearing on the mountain -- there's a librarian, right there, aggroed more or less directly on him. They scramble to get it in a boat and cover its head. Some part of him suggests they should bury it underground, just in case. They only need one more.
Next sighting is a bit more difficult to ignore, mainly because Impulse knows when he's being made fun of, and when a goat smacks him while he's trying to wrangle it into a boat, he catches sight of someone with long blonde hair cackling like a maniac about it from the other side of the border wall, and before he can do anything more than think huh, how'd False get past the border? they're gone.
False is not in this season. He tries his best to put that behind him and inform his teammates of the real issue, which is:
"YOU SAID THAT GOATS WERE NOT A PROBLEM," Impulse yells, trying to pretend the panic is about the loss of a half heart. "I JUST GOT GOATED." He can see the campfire Gem and Scott set up over their shoulders. Someone wearing red is sitting at one of the seats. Impulse resolutely ignores the fact that he hasn't seen Grian at all so far.
That's it for the ghosts for a while, enough to lull him into a false sense of security. Maybe it is just Grian sneaking around. (Maybe the guy in a red poncho he sees in the distance in the badlands Scar has based just outside of is just Grian reliving his glory days.)
"By the way, this is Traitor Scar's!" Scar says brightly.
You think his partner's Grian again? a voice says wryly. It's not either of their voices. It's not the voice of anyone Impulse even knows, for that matter. It sounds like it came from over by the badlands.
"Trader Scar's," Impulse repeats, realizing he's misheard what Scar actually said.
Eh, the voice says. Like recognizes like.

"y/n, i can not do that!" aeri snorted, shoving your shoulder.
"why not," you pouted. "just gently close the door on my finger; just enough to sprain it." she sighed, rubbing her temples.
"you know you can just go talk to her, right? you don't have to hospitalize yourself for her attention."
"it's not that simple ri, and you know that." she shrugged, her eyes analyzing your own dejected ones.
"if you're not gonna talk to her, there's not much more advice i can give you." as she opened her mouth to speak again, you heard a ping from her phone. "fuck, i'm sorry. my mom wants me back at home for god knows what." she leaned over, pressing her lips to your forehead. "talk to her!" aeri shouted as she left your room.
you sat in silence once you heard the front door slamming shut, your fingers tracing the threads of your blanket. is it worth it to try to talk to her?
your mind wandered back to the last few months, which you mostly spent thinking about jimin. memories flooded your thoughts, painting a vivid picture of the moments, albeit short, you had shared with her. the stolen glances when she came to visit your parents, the meaningless small talk that lingered in your mind long after they ended, and the undeniable connection you felt whenever you were together.
you recalled the night you spent talking for hours, exploring the depths of each other's thoughts and dreams. the way her laughter filled the room, filling your chest with butterflies. the way she listened, truly listened, to every word you spoke, making you feel seen and understood. those moments were irreplaceable, and they held the promise of something more. at least, that's what you wanted to believe.
doubt crept in, questioning whether those moments meant as much to her as they did to you. what if she didn't feel the same way? what if she only viewed you as an immature child? the fear of rejection pricked at the back of your mind, making you hesitate.
letting out a sigh, you shook your head, closing the curtains to block out the sun. you climbed into your bed and tucked yourself underneath your covers. if jimin wanted to see you, she would've come by, or at the very least called.
as you lay there, the sound of aeri's words echoed in your ears. "talk to her," she had urged, her voice filled with certainty. aeri knew you better than anyone, and you always valued her opinion. but the thought that she may not feel the same way held you back, its grip tightening with each passing moment.
a soft buzz from your phone caught your attention, the light illuminating the dark room. with a hesitant hand, you reached for it, unlocking the screen to find a text from an unfamiliar number.
'Hey, it's Dr. Yu.'
'Can we talk, please?'
you found yourself frozen, staring at your phone, your thumbs hovering over your screen. despite wanting jimin to text you first, you couldn't help but feel a little resentment towards her. not only did she ghost you for months, but she walked out on you with no explanation, other than essentially saying you were ‘too young’ for her. so why does she want to talk now?
'jimin?'
'how'd you get my number?'
you picked at the skin on your fingers, debating how you wanted to respond to her messages. you didn't want to sound too eager, but you also didn't want her to think you had no interest anymore.
'Your father gave it to me.'
'I told him you wanted to speak to me about neuroscience.'
you wanted to respond. you really did. but you didn't know what to say, and especially how to say it. despite trying to play it off, jimin made you nervous, and months without talking to her only made it worse. while you were lost in thought, your phone buzzed in your hand again.
'Y/N, please talk to me.'
'I'm sorry about what I said last time. I didn't know how to say what I wanted to say.'
'Just one more chance. Then you never have to see me again.'
as much as you wanted to hate her for disappearing the way she did, something inside of you wanted to give her a second chance. you wanted to see where this could go, and if there was a possibility that she could feel the same way you did.
'alright'
'come over tonight'
you were pacing around your room in your pajamas, squeezing a stress ball in between your fingers. you were thinking about dressing up for her, but you didn't want your parents to get suspicious. your mom already raised an eyebrow at you when she saw you taking a shower twice today, but fortunately, she didn't comment on it.
you felt your stomach sink as you came to a sudden realization. not only would your parents hear jimin coming from a mile away, but they would also immediately know who it was. you could already hear your dad interrogating you as to why dr. yu was coming over in the late hours of the night.
you walked over to your phone to text her, and you were interrupted by the sound of a car door closing. you leaned over and peeked through the blinds, only to see jimin stepping out of a discreet black car, parked right outside of the driveway. once her eyes met yours, she flashed you a smile and pointed toward her car.
you felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness as you hurriedly grabbed your jacket and opened the door. adrenaline rushed through your veins as you silently tiptoed down the stairs, hoping to avoid drawing any attention from your parents. opening the front door, you stepped outside and made your way to jimin's car, heart pounding in your chest.
as you got into the car, jimin reached over to give your hand a reassuring squeeze before starting the engine. "you okay? you look nervous," she spoke as if nothing had happened. as if no time had passed.
"you wanted to talk." you felt a pang in your chest when you saw the hurt look on her face.
"y/n, i apologize for the way i treated you last time we met. i shouldn't have walked away that night, and i definitely shouldn't have disappeared for so long. forgive me?" you looked over to jimin, watching as a growing smile spread across her face. you couldn't hate her.
"i guess. but if you do it again, i promise you'll never get another chance." jimin laughed, reaching over to rub your knuckles with her thumb.
"trust me, i won't need a second chance." you felt butterflies when you heard her words, turning to stare out of the window, hoping that she doesn't see how flustered you are. "also, how'd your parents let you leave out so late? your dad seems pretty protective of you."
"jimin, i'm eighteen. i don't need their permission to leave." jimin snorted, shaking her head.
"your dad barely wanted to give me your number this morning." she looked over to you, smiling at your exasperated expression. "you're right, you're an adult. i'm sorry."
you chuckled softly, appreciating jimin's lightheartedness. the tension that had built up within you began to dissipate as the ride continued, conversation flowing between the two of you like no time had passed. it felt good to be in jimin's presence again, to feel the familiarity and connection that had drawn you to her in the first place.
jimin continued to guide the conversation, telling you about random events that happened in her life in the time you'd been apart. "and then the other intern, who was also scared of blood by the way, left the exam room mid-surgery." she scoffed, seemingly still upset about the situation. "i mean, can you believe that? an upcoming doctor who's scared of blood?"
she shook her head as she parked the car, tapping her fingers along the steering wheel, seemingly deep in thought. you looked around to see you two were parked atop a hill, a dim light from behind the fence slightly illuminating the cabin of the car. "y/n, i know i messed up, and i'm truly sorry for the pain i caused you. i don't want to make empty promises, but i want to show you that i'm committed to making things right. can we start over? take things slowly and see where this goes?"
you took a moment to process jimin's words, feeling a mixture of hope and wariness. her sincerity was evident, and you couldn't deny the lingering feelings you had for her. even though you wanted to protect yourself from getting hurt again, something about jimin's words made you believe her. after a deep breath, you met her gaze.
"of course, we can start over." jimin's eyes flickered between your eyes and your lips, hesitation evident from her hand hovering mid-air. "kiss me, jimin." she leaned over and pressed her lips to yours, her hand coming up to rest on the back of your head. she held onto you as if you'd disappear any second, her other hand trailing up your thigh. her fingernails gently traced shapes on your inner thigh, the hand on the back of your head moving down your neck. she pulled away, her eyes dark and her chest heaving.
"y/n. i don't want to pressure you or force you into anything. are you sure this is okay?"
"this is more than okay jimin, i promise. i've missed you so much." she held your gaze as you watched multiple expressions dance across her face; uncertainty, desire, nervousness.
"backseat."
you groaned as you woke up to your phone ringing, looking at it through squinted eyes to see the name aeri on screen.
"aeri? what's up?"
"hey, sleepyhead. did i wake you up? sorry, i just wanted to check in on you. how did things go with jimin?" you frowned, suddenly waking up at her words.
"how'd you know i saw jimin?" she laughed, and you could see her smug expression through the phone.
"you didn't text back all night. and i saw the way you looked when i suggested you talk to her."
"it went well. for now, we're just taking it slow but i truly think things are different this time."
"as long as you're happy, y/n. if she hurts you again, i swear…" you laughed as aeri trailed off, her protectiveness endearing to you. the call ended, and you smiled thinking back to the events from last night.
jimin took you home and snuck you in through the back door, kissing you goodnight and walking back around the house to get back to her car. she waited until she saw the light come on in your room, followed by your eyes peering through the blinds. you watched as she left, her car disappearing into the night. as you climbed back into your bed, your mind buzzed with thoughts of jimin. the taste of her lips lingered on yours, and the warmth of her touch still tingled on your skin. it felt like a dream, yet the reality of it made your heart flutter.
as time passed, you and jimin spent more and more time together, and you felt like she was genuinely trying to make up for her actions, even though you'd already forgiven her. although you didn't want to admit it, you'd already forgiven her the night she walked out.
"i love you so much, jimin," you mumbled into her chest as you two lounged on her couch. a movie was playing in the background, yet you were hardly paying it any attention and opted for observing jimin's features.
"i know." you scoffed and hit her chest, looking up at her only to see a playful smile that reached her eyes. "i'm joking. i love you too, y/n."
you knew that navigating this relationship would be difficult. between the differences due to the age gap, and knowing your parents would never approve of it, you couldn't help but feel slightly disheartened. what if she found you too immature and decided to break things off? or what if your parents found out and you couldn't see jimin anymore?
while you were starting to doubt your relationship, jimin leaned over you, pressing a kiss to your temple. her hand came up to rub your back, gently patting you as if she were soothing a baby to sleep. in this moment you realized, no matter what happened, you'd be fine as long as you had jimin by your side. and you knew that even if you were given the chance to start over from the beginning, you'd choose her every time.

The Harshest Winters (18+!)
Part 2;
Pairing(s): Jacaerys x Reader (rip king 🤍), Dark!Aemond x Reader (though it's very much one sided on his behalf);
Warnings: angst galore, mentions of SA, blood and gore, allusions and descriptions of death AND sex, book canon Aemond- need I go on?
Author's Note: The support received on the last part was insane :")) so here I am, writing another one! If this gets enough attention, I might just turn it into a series; Nonetheless, I hope you guys enjoy!
Also, this isn't proof-read; We die like men tonight :") Part 3 is out now! <33
(Y/N) and Ser Cain ride through burnt-down forests, scattered with ash and blood - twisted loyalties reveal their sick ambitions, and the girl is faced with a very tough decision.
"How'd you even manage to get into Harrenhal? Aemond may be blind in one eye, but he keeps an iron fist over who enters and leaves the Keep." Her hushed voice echoed through the empty forest.
Ser Cain looked at his lady with a glimpse of reverence, that could almost be confused with one of slight amusement.
"I must admit, I got plenty of help." He barked dryly, running a calloused hand through his blonde hair. "You may have had no friends among the Greens, but there was a certain wood witch that wanted you gone as soon as possible."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened in momentary shock. Her mouth opened and closed back up again, before she finally managed to form a proper sentence.
"Alys? Alys Rivers?" She asked tentatively, amusement licking at her fair features.
"Us bastards always find a way to help one another," Cain let out a roaring laugh, that brought a level of warmth to the Lady's weary heart. "I wanted you safe, and she wanted you gone. We reached a deal very quickly after that."
"No way you struck a deal with Aemond's bedmate." The girl huffed out in disbelief, "She'll be in a lot of trouble if ever he finds out... There is hardly anything for her to gain from freeing a war captive."
"Aye, he will be mad..." Her sworn protector made a short pause, "Yet there's nothing that stirs someone on more than jealousy." The knight sighed, lost in deep thought. "She has everything to gain from this - the walls talk in Harrenhal, my Lady. And they... well, forgive me for being so blunt - speak stories on how the Kinslayer loses sleep by visiting you in your chambers at night."
The girl's cheek are caught ablaze; the innuendo was more than clear on Ser Cain's face alone. She stills her horse and throws him a jaded look.
"As you saw when you guarded my door, ser - he does intrude often. But there was never a moment where we..." As her words came to a halt, the girl huffed out in a discontented breath, "I would rather die than spread my legs open for the usurper's kin."
"I know." Cain reassured her, a wide smile plastered on his face. "With the way you were gripping that candle holder, ready to swing it at me, I can only imagine the hell you gave Prince Aemond."
"It wasn't nearly as much as he deserved. I'm afraid I failed to do Jace justice."
Wordlessly, Ser Cain reached for her saddle, and gave her shoulder a tight squeeze. His other hand came to grip the horse's bridle, forcing both mares into another sprint.
"We can't stay in one place for long." He wanted to apologise, but (Y/N)'s reassuring smile made him calm back down again.
"Trust me. If there is anyone who wants to put as much distance between them and that disgusting psychopath, it's me."
For a while, the only noise made in the smoked out forest was the gallop of the horses and their shallow panting. After a while, even that proved to be too little.
"I have to ask," The woman started, quirking her brow up at the knight, "Where are we going? Riverrun is hardly a safe space - Aemond will go there first, once he gets notified of my absence."
Following her own logic, (Y/N)'s eyes widen.
"My brothers. Father and grandfather...!"
"You needn't worry, my Lady!" Cain Waters assured the girl with a delicate brush on her arm, "We like to think that we thought of everything - and Riverrun has been emptied since the very beginning of the Kinslayer's wild attacks."
A sigh of relief etches it's way from the girl's throat.
"Your father raised your grandfather's army - he's marching to Dragonstone, with Kermit, to aid our true Queen. As for your youngest brother and grandfather, they're both in the Eyrie - where Lady Jane Arryn is expecting you, too."
"So that's were we're heading." (Y/N) concluded with a deep sigh. "We won't reach it tonight."
"No." Cain agreed, but soon added determinedly, "We'll probably reach the Saltpans on the morrow. We'll hide a while near the Trident and, when the time is right, march North towards the Bloody Gate."
"Gods be good, it will take us weeks." She exclaimed through a shallow breath. "We can't afford spare that much time. Aemond will be hot on our tracks, that much is for certain."
Cain's eyes softened at her outburst, and the robust man bit his inner cheek.
"We have to take this chance - for your safety, my Lady." He tried to encourage her with a crooked smile, "Do not worry about the Kinslayer. I'll kill him if he touches you."
The way in which he spoke oozed with honesty and determination. His eyes were like two silver daggers, scanning, searching for any danger that could put his Lady's life at stake.
Cain was a loyal knight, Lady Tully concluded, a trusted friend and fantastic travel partner. He was her sworn shield - and men, willing to devote themselves to a cause in the way he did, waiting for nothing in return, were very few and far between.
The tiniest shadows of a smile dance across her tired features. She takes in a deep breath, and allows her shoulders to relax.
"I know you will, Ser Cain." She confirms with a small nod, focusing her attention to the road ahead.
Still... when a dragon stands between a man and his duty, what brainless knight would ever rush to a lady's aid?
Aemond's footsteps echoed through the wailing keep. His armour fell heavy on his shoulders, and the sword in his grip was fully drenched in blood.
Of all the men slain by his hand that day, Simon Strong, the old fool, had screamed the loudest. He begged until his last breath for mercy of the Warrior and the Mother, for a chance to prove himself and his loyalty to the Crown, but to no avail.
Of all the guards assigned to Harrenhal by his darling mother, all but one died, as fallen victims to his endless frenzy.
"If the words you speak are truthful," Aemond mocked him with an airy laugh, "Then pick up this sword and clash it with mine. Should you be innocent, the Warrior will grant you strength enough to defeat me."
But no Warrior, and no other God, beckoned his call that day.
Instead, Simon Strong died with his head severed, and body still twitching with a sword in hand.
Now, it was Aemond's turn to wail and sigh at the sight before him - the last knight he kept alive, a boy as green as grass, petrified beyond belief.
When he spotted the One Eyed Prince, the boy all but fell to his knees, begging for forgiveness through tear stained cheeks and apish breaths.
"Your Grace, please, you must believe me!" He deplored helplessly, "I had no part in this - I didn't know!"
Aemond felt his lips quirk up in a cruel smile. The view below him was beyond pitiful; a most amusing glimpse into what the Conqueror himself must have experienced when he put Westeros through the judgement of steel and flames.
Still, even the most amusing jesters become ridiculous when faced with the passage of time.
"Exactly. You didn't know." His honeyed voice rang out into the cluttered room. The Crown Prince took a step forward, reveling in how the knight pressed himself deeper into the ground. The stench of piss flared up his nostrils.
The boy had shat himself.
His whimpers broke through the otherwise silent room. A mixture of "Please"s and "Your Grace, don't"s - it left Aemond dissatisfied and forlong, irked to no end.
"You say you have seen this knight around." He hummed in admission, "Pray tell, what was his name again?"
"C-Cain! Cain Waters! He was a broad man, with a straight stubble and long, blonde hair!" He shook his head after each and every word, desperate to prove himself. "He had a scar - right here, on his left arm! And a broken nose - it curved to the left side, and he said he'd gotten it from a brawl!" The boy blabbered incoherently, spewing as many things as he remembered from the immediate memory.
Aemond chuckled at his words, raising his hand out to stop the disordered boy. Wordlessly, he held his arm out, enouraging him with a curt nod to raise to his feet again.
"You have an excellent memory, do you not? It seems like you remember a lot of things."
The knight nodded fevereshly, trying his hardest to stop his limbs from giving out.
"Yes, yes, Your Grace! I talked to him countless of times, I can recognise his voice with my eyes closed!"
Aemond quirked his head to the side, and let out another curt laugh.
"Good, very good, indeed! And, tell me..." As he spoke the last of his words, Aemond Targaryen got closer to the shaking boy, "You call this level of interest... not getting involved?"
Without waiting for an answer, Prince Aemond let go of the soldier's hand, running his sword through his stomach in a simple, yet effective movement.
"Y-Your G-Gh..." He strained himself to hiss though his bloodied mouth, before falling on his knees, his hand placed atop his wound.
"You've proven yourself very useful." Aemond asserted dryly, "Just as you said."
The Prince turned back on his heel again, and began marching towards the open door. With a bored expression on his face, he threw the child one more dejected look, and added, "But I've simply no more need for you."
The knight's endless gagging filled the room with a paculiar sense of dread. Somewhere along his way, Aemond got a hold of a kitchen wench; he grabbed her with his bloody hand, and clicked his tongue in pure disdain.
"Clean that up." Was all she was instructed to do.
Daylight had long broken the sky in two, as Cain and (Y/N) finally reached the Saltpans of the Trident.
Tired, and famished far beyond belief, the two stopped at the gate of an ale house, dismounting their horses and knocking on the door politely.
A couple of seconds went by, until a small click of a key was heard on the other side. An old woman stepped outside, holding out a crossbow, that was still too big for her wide frame.
"I said, no more scoundrels, and ruffians, and thieves, and men! Away, away with you!"
Her wrinkled hands swished and flicked about, right under Cain's nose, who swallowed a small laugh, and gently raised his hands out in taciturn surrender.
"No ruffians, scoundrels or thieves sit in front of you, ma'am. ... Though, of being a man, I must admit I'm very guilty."
Upon hearing his words, the old lady shook her head, with a strength so great, (Y/N) was sure her eyes would pop out.
"Oh, no, no! I said, no more of those around here!" She repeated again, though she lowered her crossbow from Cain's face, upon hearing the sound of his mellow voice.
"Madam, I... We beg you to reconsider." The Lady's voice rang through the open clearing. As she glanced up at the old, plump woman, her features turned soft and pleading, begging for help, like a child would to her wise mother.
She gripped Cain's biscep with her left hand, ensuring that their host would see her amethist ring, that now rested upon her ring finger. "My husband and I are so tired from our long journey and... as you said, Madam, the streets aren't safe."
The house's owner squinted at them with a hardened look, but then, almost too suddenly, she stepped aside for the two to come in.
"You'll have to forgive an old spinster," The woman smiled tightly over her shoulder, "It's just that in these parts of the Reach, you don't know in who to trust."
"Aye, we hear that." Cain replied with a warm smile, leading his lady inside with a hand respectfully placed above her waist. "Great thinking!" He leaned in to whisper in her ear, congratulating her on the ability to adapt to their situation so fast. "If I didn't know any better, my Lady, I'd say you didn't need me to make the trip."
She gave her a polite smile, and sheepishly bowed her head.
"Perhaps you don't know any better, then." She laughed at him teasingly, before moving her attention back to the old maid.
"My husband and I travelled no small distance - we live near Bitterbridge, but we decided to join with our relatives near Crossroad's Inn." She gave Cain's hand a tight squeeze, and looked at him affectionately, before pressing on. "With with the war looming over us, nothing is more important than family."
The old lady smiled at them, showing off her three gold teeth. Her eyes held no malice now, and she shifted her weight from her left foot to speak. "Mine mother was from Goldengrove - a proper Lady. She was almost a lady in waiting for Brianna Tyrell."
Looking almost wistfully to the side, the inn wench let out a melancholic sigh.
"Oh, but what am I sharing these stories for?" She questioned jokingly, while clasping her hands together. "I'll prepare breakfast for you two. And a bed - to sleep in for the night."
Cain offered the woman a small nod, and smiled tightly in reply.
As she made herself busy with boiling some eggs, the man leaned in, muttering lowly to his lady.
"She didn't ask us for how long we'd stay. She assumed right away we'd be gone tomorrow."
Taking in his cautious words, (Y/N) hummed, as she nibbled on her bottom lip.
"And if her words are true about her mother, then she served as vassal for the Hightowers, as well."
"Do you think she's a Loyalist, my Lady?" The knight choked on his own breath.
"It might be too soon to tell."
The man's eyes fell back on the dirty window, that offered but a shallow peek into the outside world. His face contorted to one of great concentration - Much like it did years ago, (Y/N) mused to herself, before an important Tourney.
"We'll tread lightly. ... It might be a good idea to show our support to Aegon when we talk amongst ourselves at dinner."
"An easy conversation to over-hear, of course. Especially after a glass or two of wine."
Their little dialogue ceased a moment, and both travellers shot each other a warm smile.
"W-W-Wait, just because I brought the letter here, that don't mean I'm gon' speak to the young master, too-" The strained voice of a serving maid bounced off the stone walls of the black Crypt.
She looked around frantically, shaking her head with so much dedication, that her braid came undone onto her shoulders. The servants around her made no attempt to soothe the girl, or take her under their protection - for they, too, were scared of the wrath that resided deep inside of Aemond.
Still, a raven, who's beak carried a letter that spoke naught on the outside, besides it coming from an inn in the Saltpans, had come to Harrenhal that afternoon.
A more educated one from the flock of young maids tried to decypher its contents in the light of day, but to no avail. The letter had to be opened. And it had to be opened by their reckless Prince, first.
"H-How do we even know it's something important?" One elder girl chirped shyly. "What if it isn't, and Prince Aemond punishes us for wasting his Grace's time?"
A shuddering thought went through each and every resting body, that rang clear through their bodies, like a blade would on young flesh.
"And what if it is important?" Another spoke up, "We'll all be executed for not bringing it to him, sooner!" She sobbed into her hands.
"Bring what to Prince Aemond?"
The rise of the unknown voice elicited a scared gasp from each member of the pitiful assembly. Comically, they all turned on their heel at once, gripping their throats in horrified wonder.
None but Alys Rivers stood before them, her own hands resting on her hips and her cascade of black hair, fraiming her expecting face in a gruellingly gorgeous way.
"Seven hells! You had us scared to death, Rivers!" One maid or another chastised her deeply.
Upon hearing the lack of reverence in her voice, the Strong witch clasped her hands tightly together, and glared upon the crowd with a look full of disdain.
"You ought be careful with how you address me. You forget yourself, wench."
Her words were cutting and scornful, and yet, they had no effect on the defying servant.
"I should be careful with how I speak to you?" The tiny woman let out a small scoff, "'Tis you who should sooner not forget her standing. You aren't mistress of this Keep. You are naught above us in station."
Caught in the red, Alys scorned down at the meek, servant girl. Her back turned awfully straight, and she demured in a demanding tone.
"You will either tell me at once what it is you're hiding, or I will have my Aemond take all of your heads." She let out a small chuckle, and carried on, "You'll see how much power I have over this keep and you - for I carry the Dragon's son, and his fires already lick at my womb."
The possibility of Alys Rivers carrying the Kinslayer's bastard sent a shiver down their hollow spines. Soon, the girls threw each other a despondent look, and settled their eyes upon the floor.
"It's... a letter from the Saltpans... m'lady." The same maid who provoked her now spoke. "We don't know of it's contents, but..."
Silence fell over the windy crypt. Alys quirked up a brow in amusement, and extended her arm out in palpable anticipation.
"I'll carry it to him, then. Make haste, give it to me, and begone."
For once, her command was almost immediately executed. The plump girl that had brought the raven inside hurried to give the parchments to her, and scurried along the dark hall, making herself scarce and unseen.
Alys' green skirts kissed the grounds which the woman walked, leaving a rustling echo along the large halls with every calculated step.
She reached for Aemond's Quarters, and slyly made her way inside.
"My Prince," Her voice rang out, "A letter addressed to you has just arrived."
The eager polishing of Aemond's sword was the only noise in the room for a while. He hummed expectantly, putting an end to his endeavours, and getting a hold of the enclasped letter with two of his long fingers.
Silently, much like a predator would it's prey, he analysed its contents, feeling a smug smirk tugging at his upturned lips. He lowered it after a while, and looked out the window, lost in the depthness of his thoughts.
"My Prince, what does it say?" Alys inquired officiously, dropping her head over his thighs. "Is it of an important matter?"
Aemond let out a joyous laugh - and, whether it was due to his amusement over Alys' stupid question, or due to the contents of the flimsy letter, was up to anybody's guess.
"Tell those kitchen wenches to prepare for a grand feast for tonight. We have reason to expect very pleasant company."
The man rose from his chair and smirked to himself once more, before making his way towards the grand oak doors of his private chambers.
He stopped on his tracks, however, to assert the woman on his bed once more.
"Alys... should you come to my room unannounced again, I will have your head for it." He uttered neutrally, with a bemused rise of his brows.
"Do you think it wise to leave tonight?" Cain's pleasant voice rang through the girl's ears, as the two made good haste scarping down on the dinner they paid for.
"Tonight?" The girl hushed back at him, before taking a sip of her wine. "You don't trust the old lady, do you?"
"Aye, I must admit, I don't." Cain confirmed her laid out question, as he followed the woman's form into the small kitchen again. "I can't shake off the feeling that something bad is about to happen."
Placing her hand atop his in a pacifying manner, (Y/N) squeezed tightly, putting an end to his restless thoughts.
"Then we should leave tonight. Wait until she's fallen asleep, sneak out and mount our horses. We can sleep when we reach the Bloody Gate, or hidden away in the forest." She concluded with a stone faced look.
Cain bit his lower lip and clicked his tongue in distaste for the plan. "I'm sorry for making you go through this, my Lady. A young woman shouldn't be forced to sleep outside, under such pitiful conditions."
"But it's better to be safe than sorry," She assured him once again, "And I've slept in worse than grass and branches - you should know."
The knight's face twisted into pure rage.
"I swear to you, my Lady, I will have his head for all he made you go through. I will."
"There would be no one else I trust more with the task." She smiled at him happily, and a pang of sisterly affection surged through her bones. "Let's finish eating. Then we'll retire in our room and start packing up."
Cain nodded in agreement, and offered the girl one of his many placid smiles.
The evening went on with little to no commotion - the night displayed the hour of the wolf, when the two finally made their way outside their room, and onto the small corridor that led to the stables.
Still, their footsteps, however careful, alerted their horses, who'd grown so accounstomed to Cain's presence.
With a small huff of their muzzles, they rested their head upon the separating barrier, and shook their manes expectantly.
"That's it, those are my good girls." Cain hushed to them, untying their bridles from the putrid wall. "Let's go for a ride, shall we?"
In the same manner he did the night before, (Y/N)'s sworn shield helped her up the saddle, and secured her belts in place. Soon came his turn, and, before they both knew it, the pair was exiting the stables with tentative steps, stopping at the entrance.
"We'll take to the North road, but we'll travel slightly East. We'll be on Arryn grounds... and hopefully more safe."
"That sounds like a plan." Lady Tully agreed with a tight expression on her face. She let out a shaky sigh, opening the inn's gates with a strong jerk of her hand.
Cain clicked his tongue once, twice, three and four times, until both horses broke into a hasty sprint. With his hand over both bridles, he guided the horses over to the stony road.
The night was clear. The shadows scarce. And yet...
A looming figure washed up before them both, swallowing the light of the moon and shaking their foundations to the very core.
"Ha..." (Y/N) let out a laugh in disbelief, feeling her heart rising to her throat.
Cain's face tightened, and his knuckles turned white over the saddle's head. His body contorted in fear and disgust for the man above them, as he took in a deep breath.
"Run." He instructed dryly.
When a horse races with a dragon, which one of them wins? - It was a rather stupid question, for this was a race that the poor horse would lose everytime, no matter it's good breeding or strong muscle mass.
"TO THE FOREST, BACK INTO THE FOREST!" Ser Cain yelled out, turning both animals around, hoping for a chance of escape.
"Have you lost your mind?! He'll burn the trees down!" His lady's reply came and went, swallowed by the wind, and the ring of Aemond's cruel laugh.
"What other choice do we have?!"
That much was true, the lady admitted inside her head. Aemond was ruthless, and, chances were, they would both die either way. If there was even a slither of hope that they'll survive by confusing the man, they had to take it.
As the horses ran, Cain tried his best to untangle their bridles, but (Y/N) shouted after him.
"Don't!! Aemond won't burn me with his dragon, he needs me alive for my grandfather's banners! But he won't hesitate to hurt you, should we be separated!"
With one hardened breath after the other, the two made their way back into the forest, where Cain reached out to unbuckle his lady's saddle. His stiff fingers made slow work - the exhaustion, fear and speed with which they galloped made it extremely hard for the knight to see even three inches ahead of him.
"We get off the horses!" He alerted the woman, as beads of sweat rolled off his forehead. "From that distance, he can't see us - he'll think we're still on them! We'll have to run from that point on, but we must take the chance!"
(Y/N) replied in kind with his instructions, and both lady and loyal knight jumped off their horses' saddles, hitting the ground with a ferocious impact.
Pain surged through her limbs and bones, but Cain quickly grabbed her hand, and dragged her further into the forest, and farther away from Aemond's roars.
Their strained breaths and silent whimpers echoed through the quiet woods - they ran and ran, until their feet gave out on them, and the two reached a small cave.
"Come -" The man encouraged with a raspy voice, as his knees buckled below him.
For a while, there was silence. (Y/N) swallowed thickly, and whispered to her tired knight.
"We should stay here for a while. Maybe an hour, or... Shit, he won't leave either way, will he?"
"Aye, my Lady, not without you." His grey eyes came to clash with her (y/e/c) hues. A look of strange determination took a hold of his harsh features, contorting his brows in such a way, that they almost mended through themselves.
"From here we could go to Maidenpool. The forest covers enough a distance for such a feat."
"Maidenpool?" The girl's voice shook with fear, "It's nose to nose with King's Landing - going there is a death sentence!"
She closed her eyes tightly and kicked her leg into a nearby stone. "Shit, shit, shit - we were so close!"
"I shall challenge him to a fair fight." Cain mustered up to say. "The Kinslayer has no honor. But he still values the tradition."
The lady's eyes shot wide open, and her head shook to the side. "No, absolutely not. Aemond is well rested - you haven't slept in two days!"
"I must. What other choice do we have?" He repeated with a shaky voice, as he wobbled back on his feet again. His eyes trailed over the girl's small silhouette, and patted her back keenly.
"You stay here, my Lady. Should I arise victorious, I'll come back and find you."
With each word of their heated dispute, both companions raised their voices.
"No - not a chance. As your Lady, I'm commanding you; and as your friend, I'm begging you - let me come with."
"There should be no need for that." Aemond's deep voice rumbled out.
Cain wasted no time to place the girl behind his back, and unsheathe his sword with one swift movement.
"... How?" (Y/N) asked him in pure disdain and disbelief.
"Lady Alys sees many things. Before I left, she saw you in the fires of the kitchen, wasting away in this cave to rot."
The Crown Prince gave the girl a mellow smile, as he took a step ahead.
"At first, it made little sense to me. Especially since that withered whore sent me a raven, assuring me of your whereabouts in her inn." Hearing the calmness in his voice, the girl spat out a low curse.
But Aemond laughed at her display, and gently shook his head.
"The view you get atop a dragon, My Lady, is a very valuable thing. You can already guess my frustration when all I saw were pesky trees, but then... then I saw this cave."
Cain let out a low growl, and measured the One-Eyed Prince with his wild stare.
"None of that matters now." He spoke calmly, cutting him off, "We've to reach an agreement, Kinslayer. Pull your sword out now, and face trail before the Gods."
As his eyes trailed across Aemond's clean armour, the knight let out a strained snarl.
"Lest you be scared to, of course."
That seems to be the final drop for Aemond, who suddenly unsheathes his own Valyrian steel sword, and places it atop Cain's breastplate. "You'll regret ever taunting a dragon."
"We'll see."
Having said the last of their words, the men swayed on their feet, clashing steel with steel. When Aemond charged him, Cain moved barely fast enough to avoid the blade's sharp edge.
No sooner was Aemond's first slash blocked, that the knight made another - this time, the Kinslayer's armour proved to be pivital, as the sword rang though his breastplate, without making any damage to the warm body inside.
Hard and fast the cuts came, from low and high, from left and right, and each one Cain managed to block. The frustration in Aemond's eye etched itself into Vhagar's mighty roar, so barbaric and wild, that it sent a shiver of dread down (Y/N)'s spine.
Her knight caught one blow high on his armour, and a painted trout had lost its head. He countercut, and the Prince imposed his own shield, lunching in a fiery backslash.
Cain moved to his right, but the Kinslayer blocked him with a quick side-step, and drove him back the other way... towards the darkness of the cage, hoping to blind him and take his head.
The knight gave ground until he felt the shadows dancing on his back. A quick glance over his shoulder showed him what was way behind, and that recklessness almost cost him his head, when Aemond began his attacks anew.
One hit over his legs by (Y/N)'s dagger sent the Prince tumbling on his back, but he surged his way on his feet again with a rash counter-attack. He let out a wild roar, and his cold steel plowed into Ser Cain's flesh, where his shoulder joined his neck, stopping at the knight's breastbone.
The blood came rushing out in a hot, black gush - Ser Cain's knees folded slowly, as if for prayer, and when he opened up his mouth, only blood came out.
"NO!" The girl yelled out in a blood curling shriek, and she tumbled forward, trying to get a hold of the knight's bloodied cape.
With his last ounce of strenght, Ser Cain pushed the girl aside and slashed his sword up in the air - but Aemond spun like a turret, and blocked his mindless hack with a teasing smile on his face, discarding his sword to the side.
"I hope your God's a sweet one, Waters bastard." Aemond hummed through his hooded eyes, "For you're going to meet him shortly."
Wincing from the pain that was now licking at his opened flesh, Ser Cain spat over Aemond's boots, while gripping his shoulder to stop the endless rivers of blood, that were being eaten by the dirt.
Unamused, though still smirking, the One Eyed Prince raised his sword in the air, to deliver that one, final cut.
"STOP!" The Lady's voice rang through the tiny cave, grasping Aemond's attention.
Standing tall, she gripped Cain's sword in her own stilled hands, and brought it back to her own stomach.
"If you kill Cain now, I'll run this blade right through my insides!"
As if fallen under a spell, Aemond spat a low curse out, and rested his sword back on his hip. Wordless still, he pushed the knight down with the end of his Achile's heel, but raised his hands up in quiet surrender.
"I mean it!" She sobbed into the open space, her eyes never leaving Aemond's. "We'll see then what kind of support you'll receive from the Riverlords for your usurper kin!"
As if to accentuate her words, she pressed the sword deeper into her scorching heat, applying enough pressure to draw out a little cove of blood.
"Let him go. Let him live, and you can bring me back to Harrenhal, yeah?" The girl asked the Targaryen Prince tentatively.
"Hmm."
So very slowly, Aemond's feet carried him to (Y/N)'s direction. With one hand still raised in the air, he lowered the hilt of Cain's sword, pushing the tip away from her convulsing body.
His lonesome eye trailed low, enough to meet the poke of her clothes, and Viserys' second son let out a disappointed sigh.
His hand reached to cup the girl's jaw, and he gingerly turned it from side to side - inspecting it, just as he'd done when they first clashed wits in her prison cell.
"You've lost weight." He remarked through a furrowed brow.
Suddenly, his hand trailed lower still, all the way down to her neck, which he gripped gently, possessively.
"You are in no position to make demands. Do you think he won't come after you again if I let him live?"
"You all but severed his right hand - he will never fight again." The girl begged him with logic and fact, whilst swallowing thickly, as her heart hammered out of her chest.
"Let him live." Her hand ghosted above his tightening grip, her eyes frantically searching for his. "If you do so, I won't put up a fight ever again."
The final words of her vow caused a pleasant shiver run down Aemond's back. He falthered his grip on her throat, and moved both hands to cage her in between his body and the cold stones.
"Keep your... fucking hands... away from her." Cain hissed from his laying place, trying his hardest to get back up on his feet again.
Aemond's body tensed again, but, before he could move away from (Y/N) and do anything, the girl gripped his cheeks with both hands and brought his eye on her again.
"Stop it, Cain." She preleened through a shaky breath. "It's done."
Aemond's throat rumbled out in a purr of satisfaction, and he harshly grabbed the woman to bring her outside with him.
The monstrous Vhagar awaited them with open wings - and an open jaw -, which made the girl stop on her tracks and plant her feet into the grimy ground.
"I can't get on top of that-!" She uttered pleadingly, shooting Aemond down with a jaded look.
"You will watch your tongue, churl. That is Vhagar. And you will be riding her tonight." He pulled the woman near him and approached his dragon with four swift steps.
'The bond between a dragon and their rider it's a sacred thing.' Jacaerys' voice rang out in her ears.'The dragon always knows what the rider is feeling... Sometimes even better than the man himself.'
"You should be honoured." Aemond disrupted her trail of thought with an assertive remark, "Very few have been introduced to the Queen of the Dragons before."
His touch made her nauseous. Her head was swirling with a hundred unanswered questions, and the way Vhagar looked at them both only stirred her along more.
As Aemond reached for (Y/N)'s hand, the she-dragon let out a disapproving roar.
"Sagon gīda, Vhagar." He hushed gently, as if sharing a sensual secret with an old lover. "Rības issa udra. Umbagon nykeēdrosa."
His rough palm clutched the girl's one tightly, and he jerked her hand forward to touch the dragon's scales.
Restless, Vhagar tried to move away, rejecting the touch of the woman she didn't deem safe for Aemond.
'Dragons have a way of knowing how we all feel. If you wanted me dead now, Vermax wouldn't be so keen to please you.' Jacaerys laughed inside her ear.
But (Y/N) wanted Aemond dead. And of course, Vhagar knew that.
It came to no surprise that she was declining her touch. Still, Aemond persisted.
He moved behind the girl's small frame, and pressed his body against hers so harshly, that she tumbled forward, coming into full contact with Vhagar's scarred belly.
"Gīda, Vhagar." He whispered again, "Dohaeragon issa. Rȳbagon se rības."
Slowly, yet surely, the weary groans of the she-dragon ceased, as Aemond kept reassuring her.
When the Prince felt the bond satisfactory enough, he threw the woman over his shoulder, and began climbing to his dragon's saddle.
(Y/N) let out a disparaging heave, and she had to repeatedly remind herself just how close she was to a dragon's jaws, as to not hit Aemond over the head with all her strenght.
Once they reached the top, Aemond gently lowered her onto the saddle, making fast work on the belts around them.
His hand ghosted between her legs, in a feigned attempt to check the bindings, and the lady shot him a disapproving frown.
Whilst letting out a dangerous chuckle, Aemond shook his head and mounted himself behind her. "Are you ready?" He murmured into her left year.
Not even waiting for an answer, he rose his head and commanded clearly;
"Sōvegon!"
Thoughout the whole ride, the girl kept her eyes closed, despite Aemond's numerous attempts to make her open them.
They reached Harrenhall not even twenty minutes later, and the lady had to stiffle a bitter laugh as she dismounted the glorious beast.
If only her and Cain could have travelled faster; then nothing bad would have ever happened.
Cain...
She turned to glance at the ground, and closed her eyes for a quick prayer.
Though she believed not in the Old Gods or the New, her heart beckoned her to hope for his safety.
She let Aemond carry her back inside, not even paying attention to her surroundings.
He lost a lot of blood, her psyche echoed back to her, But there is a chance he made it out there.
The light click of doors closing grounded her back to her harsh reality. Peeling them from the ground, Lady Tully turned her eyes to the decour of the room, and took a step back once she realised this wasn't her old tower.
"You'll be sleeping with me from now on, My Lady." Aemond's velvety voice fell upon her deafened ears. "We won't have any other shameful accidents - not as long as you're under my protection."
The woman felt as if she could gag at any given moment. If Aemond thought, just for a second, that she'd bed him or become his whore, he'd be unpleasantly surprised.
She'd rather sleep on the floor. Or see herself rot back in the Dungeons.
Almost as if he could read her mind, Aemond let out a low hum.
He came before her, and scooted closer. His hand reached up, resting above her collarbones, and his breath hitched in his throat.
Timidly, his fingers came down to gently carress them, and the One Eyed Prince had to bite back a deep moan.
The contrast between his rough fingertips and her soft skin felt exquisite, and so, so right.
For a second, he thought about the kinds of sounds that might come from her haughty mouth as he slowly entered her. How her face would twist in pleasure, as he gradually, gently, taught her the art of the bedroom.
His lustful thoughts came to an end when he noticed how her face contorted in disgust and displeasure.
Familiar anger flared within him.
She was a whore. A lowly girl who, no doubt, spent every day spreading her legs to his bastard nephiew before, taking him into her sacred depths whenever he so wished to.
So why was she resisting him?
Did she not feel his touch as electrifying as hers was for him?
"Don't be scared. I will not bed you." He uttered near her swollen lips. "I take no pleasure in claiming what's not freely given."
An arrogant smirk tugged at the ends of his upturned lips.
He brought his thumb to brush over her lower lip, toying with it until he forced himself to let it go.
"But it's in a whore's nature to be begging for cock. And you will be pleading for mine before the Spring's end, I can promise you that."

⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT⚠️
Hey, guys... so I've been writing on here for the last 2 years (almost 3) and while I have loved every second of it I can't do it anymore.
I can't....
...keep Pirate! Bakugo to myself any longer...
Imagine you're running, through shabby alleys and past the cess pools your town calls taverns, weaving through the crowded pathways; a couple of men are chasing you, their angry shouts getting mixed with the hustle of the busy streets. You turn your head to risk a glance at your pursuers- shit, they're closer than you thought.
Just as you turn your head back and go to put once last push into your gait, you slam into something big and solid. The sudden arm in your way clotheslines you and sends you scrambling for anything to keep you upright. Not that you need to- the same arm that sent you reeling now has the front of your shirt, hauling you upright.
"Oi!-" The arm's owner barks out, just to be interrupted by the men chasing you.
"Thank you! This little bitch stole our coin," the shorter of the pair turns his yellowed snarl to your form, still held in the strangers steel-like grip.
"I stole nothing!" You growl back, desperately trying to free yourself. Your nails dig into your captor's wrist, but he remains unfazed.
You finally see his face when he turns to you. His eyes bore into your own as he stares you down. "D'ja take their shit?"
His messy blonde hair casts a scary loom over the top half of his face, almost making his blood reds glow. "I didn't steal anything..." you grunt out, trying to yank yourself free.
"So, you're a thief AND a lia-" The taller accuser snarks.
"Enough," the man holding you says, deadly calm. "She said she didn't steal it, so go."
The men raise their voices, yelling their injustices. The second man makes a swipe at you, trying to tug you away from your newfound savior. In a flash, the man yanks you behind him and clocks him in the jaw, felling him.
The other evidently decides that there are more important things to squabble over because he leaves his companion in the dust, clutching his face.
"Leave." The blonde growls, towering over the guy's pathetic form.
Neither of you moves as he scrambles away, stumbling over himself as he rounds a corner.
Your eyes widen. "Wha-"
Once gone, he turns to look at you. "Where is it?"
"-Don't play games with me. Where is it?"
You huff as you reach into your bra and pull out to coin purse. "How'd you know?"
"Only the guilty run. Now hand it over."
Eyeing his outstretched hand, you contemplate how far you could get if you ran. When he cocks his eyebrow, you relent, handing the bag over. You've done enough running today to last you a lifetime.
"What are you? An undercover constable?"
His face twists into an ugly snarl, "Opposite end o' the spectrum, doll." You watch as he counts out the gold, pocketing a few coins and tossing the bag back to you.
"Don't look at me like that- Pirates don't work for free."
-
Now imagine that each time he comes to port, you end up running into each other. Sometimes figuratively, other times literally (you're very prone to be chased through the streets - it's definitely NEVER your fault, though...).
You've seen him beat people up for looking at him the wrong way, so the confusion never fades about why he decided to help you all those months ago. You've asked, of course, but all you get is a noncommittal grunt or a large palm pushing you away by the face as he trudges past you.
Eventually, the "coincidental" visits turn into gifts- nothing huge, just little trinkets that "I've no use for the damned thing, thought cha might, though..."
Dont ask. I've had this in my drafts for almost 3 years, so I figured I'd just post it, lmao. If there's any grammar mistakes/spelling errors, blame 17 year old me, I didn't proofread this - I just added that first bit🙃

Cloning Machine
Media - Nanny McPhee Character - Simon Brown Couple - Simon X Reader Reader - Y/n Brown Rating - Sweet Word Count - 383
I yawned as I sat in my rocking chair with little Lucas in my arms as he had his feeding, as the children ran around the gardens.
"Morning Y/n," Evangeline smiled as she came down and sat on the porch with me, she and Simon's father were here visiting us, as they do every few months they travel up to see their grandchildren and us of course,
"Morning," I smiled, "How'd you sleep?"
"Perfectly, don't worry about us." She smiled, "How's Lucas doing?"
"Better, he's getting over his fever now and he's happily drinking again,"
"Good, we were all worried about the little guy,"
"I know, Simon sat up at his bedside for a week,"
"He's such a good boy," She laughed as we watched the children play and of course, Simon being the best daddy ever playing with them, "Never use to be,"
"I know, I've heard so many stories about that nanny not sure who I believe,"
"I don't either, still... she made their good sides come through,"
"and I thank her for that, whoever she was," I smiled, "Ohh there we go," I cooed as Lucas was finished so I cleaned up and fixed my dress before putting him in the Moses basket to sleep,
"You know... so many of them look like him?"
"Hummm?"
"The children,"
I chuckled, "I used to say it was the luck of the genetic lottery, how all our children got his blonde hair, his brown eyes, used to think it was an insane coincidence that all our children look like Simon,"
"But?"
"But... now... I am starting to wonder if I'm just a cloning machine,"
she laughed, "How so?"
"I've had nine children, girls and boys doesn't matter all of them blonde with brown eyes and Simon's little nose."
"That is a little odd,"
"I am convinced I am just a cloning machine," I chuckled, "Just making little simons,"
"You'll have a whole army soon,"
"If Simon has anything to say about it we will,"
"Is he still?" She asked, "After nine?"
"I am pregnant again," I chuckled, "with number ten,"
"My goodness," She laughed, "well congratulations,"
"Thank you," I laughed, "I'm sure ten will be a nice round number to end on," I smiled, " But still we will have to see if this one is a clone of Simon too,"
"I admit I'd be putting money on it," she laughed,
"Unfortunately... I think I will too."

Pairings : Serial Killer Yelena Belova x Reader
Warnings: Kidnapping, Blood, Drugging, Stalking, Skin Carving, Knife Marking, Manipulation, Family Member Death, Needles & Blood Licking
Pet Names/Nicknames: Little Dove & Detka
Word Count: 4,528
Y/N always visited her family members grave every month for the past year. As she walked into the grave she felt like something was off. She felt like someone was watching her. As she walked through the rows of graves she had looked around but she didn't see anyone in sight. Y/N had walked over to her little brother's grave before kneeling down and dusting off the gravestone. She put her messenger bag down on the ground before taking the dead flowers out of the little cup that was beside the grave before putting new ones in.
"Is that your brother" someone spoke up from behind Y/N causing her to jump slightly before looking over her shoulder to see a woman with blonde hair and green eyes. The blonde haired woman was wearing a black leather jacket over a green vest and a black turtle neck long sleeve shirt. She was wearing black ripped jeans and black combat boots that had black buckles on them. She was wearing gold rings on all of her fingers except for her ring finger. She had hand tattoos and a couple leg tattoos that were visible from her ripped jeans. She had a couple ear piercings and had a septum piercing along with an eyebrow piercing and a tongue piercing.
"Um yeah how'd you know" Y/N said with a frown and the woman just smiled slightly. "Just a lucky guess" the woman said before chuckling. Y/N's frown deepens slightly. "What's your name" the woman said and River shook her frown off. "It's Y/N. What's yours" Y/N asked and the woman just smirked before shoving her hands into her leather jacket pockets. "Why would I tell a complete stranger my name" she says before looking down at Y/N who had her eyes widened in shock. The woman laughed before shaking her head. "I'm joking the names Yelena" the woman said before smiling. "Oh it's nice to meet you then. Are you here to visit someone too" Y/N asked. "You could say that" Yelena said as she smiled down at Y/N. "Oh who are you visiting" Y/N asked before looking back at her brother's grave for a couple seconds. "You" Yelena said as she pulled out a syringe full of clear liquid. Y/N eyes widened in shock when she saw the syringe in the woman's hand.
Before Y/N could get up and run away Yelena was in her in 2 seconds. Yelena pinned Y/N on the ground by the back of her neck before taking off the cap on the needle with her teeth. "Would you quit squirming your not gonna get free" Yelena growled out before inserting the needle in Y/N's neck before pushing down on the syringe causing the liquid to go into Y/N's neck. Y/N immediately felt the effects of the drug that was put into her body before her eyes closed and she went limp. Yelena gets off Y/N's back before lifting Y/N up from the ground. Yelena carries Y/N bridal style to her black car and puts her in the back before grabbing the rope that was on the floor and tying Y/N's hands together. Yelena shut the back door before getting into the driver's seat and drove off after turning her car on. Yelena drove for two hours straight until she came across a dirt road and drove up it. She parked in front of a mansion and turned the car off before getting out and shutting the door loudly. she opened the back door to see Y/N was still unconscious before grabbing her and putting her over her shoulder before shutting the door and making her way up to the mansion. she was halfway up the steps when the door opened causing her to loo up to see her butler. "Miss. Belova your back already" he asked and Yelena nodded before stopping in front of him and towering over him. "Yeah now be a dear and tell everyone to go home" Yelena said and the butler's eyes widen in shock. "Are you sure" he said as he looked at the young girl that was slung over Yelena's shoulder. "Yes now go" Yelena said sternly and the man nodded before rushing of quickly to go tell the other workers to go home. Yelena walked through the doorway before shutting the door behind her.
Yelena made her way over to the staircase before walking up it. Once she reached the top she started walking down the long hallway on the left of the staircase. She walked down the hall for a couple seconds until she stopped in front of a black wooden door. she opened it and walked in before shutting the door behind her. She walked over to the king sized bed before dropping Y/N on the silk sheets before untying her wrists. She looked down at Y/N before smirking as she walked over to the bedside table and opened the draw. she pulled out a pair of handcuffs before walking over to the bed post and clasping one cuff around it before grabbing Y/N's left wrist and clasping the other cuff around her wrist and making sure it wasn't loose.
After another hour Y/N had woken up and tried to roll over but she couldn't causing her to open her eyes and look up to see she was handcuffed to the bedpost causing her eyes to widen in shock before she sat up and looked around the room landing on a woman with blonde hair. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw who it was. "Good you're finally awake" Yelena said as she stood up from her chair that was in the corner of the room before walking towards Y?N. "S-stay away from me" Y/N stuttered out causing Yelena to laugh before stopping right in front of Y/N. "No need to be scared Y/N" Yelena said before smirking as she grabbed Y/N's jaw before leaning in. Y/N kicked Yelena in the knee causing Yelena to grunt as she glared at Y/N while tightening her grip on Y/N's jaw. "That was seriously uncalled for" Yelena said and Y/N clenched her jaw tightly and tries to kick Yelena's knee again but Yelena grabs Y/N's leg. "Come on stop fighting me" Yelena growled out as she started to get annoyed. "No way you kidnapped me" Y/N shouted causing Yelena to roll her eyes. "It was for your own good Y/N, you need someone to look after you and protect you from danger and I can do that for you" Yelena said and Y/N glared up at Yelena. "I don't need someone to protect me I can protect myself" Y/N spat out causing Yelena to laugh before she pulled away. "Well then how was I able to kidnap you if you can protect yourself huh" Yelena said and Y/N looked away. "Just accept your fate Y/N this is your life now, you're mine now" Yelena purred out before smirking. "I'm not yours and i never will be now let me go" Y/N said as she glared up at Yelena who smirked again. "Come on you don't want me to hurt your family do you? If you accept that you're mine and be good I won't hurt anyone you love but on the other hand if you don't I'll kill every single one of them without so much as a glance" Yelena said and Y/N's eyes widened in shock as she gulped.
Y/N thought for a few seconds before looking up at Yelena. "Fine only because I don't want anybody else I love dying" Y/N said and Yelena nodded her head as her smirk widened before she pulled out the handcuff key. "You better not try and run away when I unlock the handcuffs got it" Yelena said and Y/N nodded her head before Yelena unlocked the cuffs. Y/N rubbed her wrist before looking up at Yelena. "Now come on I'll show you around" Yelena said as she stepped back and started heading to the door. she looked over her shoulder to see Y/N still sitting on the bed. she rolled her eyes before walking back over and grabbing Y/N's right wrist before pulling her up and dragging her to the door. Y/N follows Yelena quietly as they exit the bedroom. Y/N looks around the big hallway before her eyes widen in shock. "Is this a mansion" Y/N asks ad Yelena looks back at Y/N before nodding her head. "Yeah so if you try and escape the security alarms will immediately go off notifying me that you tried to escape" Yelena said and Y/N gulped. Yelena pulls Y/N down the long staircase before making her way to the dining room. "Sit down" Yelena says before letting go of Y/N and pointing to a chair. Yelena watches Y/N walk over to the chair and sit down. "Now don't move anywhere I'll know if you do" Yelena said before walking into the kitchen the double door closing behind her. Y/N looks around the dining room and sees a dogs bed in the far corner causing her to frown since she hasn't see any dog yet. She looks away from the dog bed and looks out the floor length window to see tons and tons of trees. Yelena comes back out of the kitchen with two plates in her hands a couple minutes to see Y/N looking out one of the floor length windows. "Like the view" Yelena said as she placed a plate of food in front of Y/N causing Y/N to snap out of her trance to look down at the plate of food. "Is it poisoned" Y/N asks and Yelena laughs before walking around the long table and sitting in the chair across from Y/N. "No it's not poisoned" Yelena said as she started digging into her food as she watched Y/N look down at her food.
Y/N looked back up at Yelena who was already looking at her. "I'm not really hungry" Y/N said pushing the plate away from her causing Yelena to roll her eyes. Yelena stood up causing Y/N to look up. "Eat or you won't eat at all" Yelena growled out causing Y/N to gulp before grabbing her plate and started eating her food. Yelena sat back down before going back to eating her food. After Yelena finished her food she got up and grabbed her plate before making her way back through the double doors to the kitchen. Y/N watched her before she looked around again. Her eyes landed back on the big dog bed that was in the corner. "That's for my dog Franny" Yelena spoke up causing Y/N to jump before looking over to see Yelena standing right next to her. "Where is she or he at" Y/N asked and Yelena smiled. "With a good friend of mine" Yelena said not wanting to say with her sister unless Y/N does escape and calls the police and has her sister arrested as well. "Oh" Y/N said and Yelena nodded her head. "Are you done eating" Yelena asked and Y/N nodded. Yelena grabbed Y/N's plate before walking away again and back into the kitchen. Y/N looked over at the kitchen double doors before she slowly got out of the chair. She quietly made her way to the dining doors and quietly opened them before sneaking through them. She looked around and looked to her left to see the front doors a couple feet away from where she's standing. She rushed over to the front doors and reached for one of the handles when the door opened causing her to back up. She looked up to see a woman with Red hair and green eyes looking down at her. She looked past the tall woman before dashing past her and out of the door. "Lena" The woman shouted causing her voice to echo through the whole mansion. The door to the dining hall opened and Yelena had a calm expression on her face. "Your little thing just escaped" the woman said and Yelena just rolled her eyes. "I know that sister I have the security feed on my phone" Yelena said as she looked down at her phone and watched Y/N run down the steps. "You're not worried she'll get away" Yelena's sister says and Yelena laughs before pressing a button on her phone. As she presses the button there's a loud scream outside. Yelena's sister looks over her shoulder to see Y/N curled up in a ball on one of the steps.
"Lena what did you do" Yelena's sister said and Yelena just smirked as she walked past her sister. "Nothing you need to worry about Tasha" Yelena said and Natasha rolled her eyes before following her sister down the steps. Yelena stops behind Y/N before kneeling down. "I told you if you tried to escape I would know" Yelena said causing Y/N to whimper in pain. Yelena pressed the button again causing the shocker to turn off. "What the fuck was that" Y/N muttered out causing Yelena to chuckle before yanking her up off the ground. "Just a little something aa friend made" Yelena said before smirking wickedly. "Is it what I think it is" Natasha said and Yelena's eyes darken slightly. Natasha grabs Yelena and drags her away from Y/N who just stands there. "Are you serious Lena that was just a prototype it could malfunction" Natasha whispered out and Yelena rolled her eyes. "I had to test it somehow and what better way to do it then use it on Y/N" Yelena said and Natasha glared down at her little sister. "You're fucking crazy Lena it could kill her, why didn't you use it on a animal instead" Natasha growled out and Yelena rolled her eyes before yanking her arm away. "Because it's not as fun that's why" Yelena whispered out and Natasha sighed before rubbing her forehead. Natasha looked back over at Y/N who was looking at the two of them before she smirked causing Y/N to look away.
"Now Y/N why don't you be good and get back inside the mansion" Yelena said and Y/N glared at her causing Yelena to hover over the button on her phone. Y/N clenched her jaw before walking past the two shoving the two away from each other as she headed back into the Mansion. "She's a feisty one" Natasha said and Yelena nodded her head. "Now why are you here Natasha" Yelena said and Natasha looks back at her sister. "Oh right I have something you might want to know but we should go to your office for this" Natasha said and Yelena nodded before the two made their way back into the mansion and headed up the stairway to Yelena's office. Meanwhile with Y/N she was sitting in the living room when she heard shouting coming from upstairs. She looked towards the living room door before looking back at the TV that wasn't on. After a couple of seconds she hears something shatter causing her to jolt. She looked up when the door to the living room opened and Yelena walked in looking calm which scared Y/N. Yelena walks over to the small bar that was in the living room in one of the corners before walking behind it and grabbing a bottle of vodka. Yelena opens the bottle before drinking some of it from the bottle. Yelena looks over at Y/N who is already looking at her. "Do you want some" Yelena said and Y/N shook her head no. "I'm not allowed I'm not old enough" Y/N said causing Yelena to frown as she set the bottle of vodka down on the bar top. "How old are you Y/N" Yelena said and Y/N looked down at her lap. "19" Y/N said and Yelena's eyes widen in shock.
A week later Y/N is sitting in the living room again when the door opens. She looks up to see Yelena walking in before Yelena walks over to her. "Get up I'm taking you somewhere" Yelena said and Y/N stood up before following Yelena out of the mansion. "Where are we going" Y/N asked and Yelena looking over her shoulder. "To a diner I'm tired of the food here I need some delicious greasy food" Yelena said as she made her way down the steps. "Oh and don't try to run or ask for help when we get there got it" Yelena said and Y/N nodded her head. The two made their way down the steps before walking up to a black truck. Yelena opened the passenger side and helped Y/N in before shutting the door and walking over to the driver's side before getting in. She shuts the driver's door before turning on the truck and driving out of the long driveway. After a while of driving Yelena stops in front of an old fashioned diner before turning the truck off. She gets out of the truck before walking around it and opens the passenger door. "Come on" Yelena said and Y/N jumps out and jumps when Yelena slams the truck door behind her before chuckling. She walks to the Right rear door before opening it and pulling out a big case before unlocking it and opening it. She grabbed her gun before putting in in the back of her jeans before closing the case and putting it back under the seat before shutting the truck door and locking it. "Alright let's go" Yelena said and made her way towards the dinner following Y/N. The two walked into the old diner and there were only four other people. Yelena smiled as she put a hand on Y/N's back as they pasted the four men before walking to a corner booth and sitting down. After a couple minutes a waitress comes up "Hello what can I get for you two ladies" the waitress says and Yelena looks up from the menu. "I'll have a black coffee and mac & cheese with hot sauce" Yelena said and the waitress nodded before looking at Y/N who was sitting beside Yelena. "And what would you like Miss." the waitress said and Y/N looked up. "Um I'll have some Dr. Pepper and some chicken with ranch please" Y/N said and the waitress nodded before walking away after writing down what Y/N ordered. Yelena looked over at Y/N to see her looking down and picking at her fingers. "Stop doing that" Yelena whispered out and Y/N stopped before the waitress came back over and placed their drinks in front of them. "Your food will be out in a couple minutes if you need anything my names Anna" the waitress said before walking away. Yelena watches the waitress walk away before taking a drink from her cup of coffee. Y/N takes a sip of her Dr. Pepper before looking at Yelena. Yelena looks over and smirks at Y/N. "What are you staring at" Yelena says and Y/N looks away before taking another sip of her soda while waiting for the food to arrive.
The food arrives a couple minutes later and the waitress puts the food down in front of the two before walking away. Y/N starts digging into her chicken as Yelena pours hot sauce over her mac & cheese causing Y/N to look at her in disgust. "That's absolutely disgusting" Y/N said and Yelena glares at Y/N. "No its delicious" Yelena says her Russian accent slipping out causing Y/N to shiver slightly. After a couple minutes Yelena get up from the table causing Y/N to look up. "I'm going to the bathroom don't even think about going anywhere or you'll get shocked got it" Yelena whispered out and Y/N nodded as she watched Yelena walk towards the bathroom before looking up to see the four men at the bar still talking and laughing. Y/N looks back over to the bathroom door before getting up quickly and making her way over to the men. "Um excuse me" Y/N says and the men stop talking before looking over at Y/N. "What is it" a man with blonde hair said as he looked at Y/N "Um I need help I've been kidnaped by a serial killer" Y/N said and the men all look at each other before laughing. "Please I'm telling the truth I need help" Y/N said and the men keep laughing. "Kid stop joking around" the black haired man said and Y/N looked at the bathroom door before looking back at the four men. "Please I'm telling the truth her names Yelena she's the one that's in the bathroom right now, please I'm not joking around I need help" Y/N plead and the men looked at her. "Kid there's no one named Yelena in this town" the blonde haired man said and before Y/N could speak she felt a hand on her lower back. "Is this girl bothering you gentlemen" someone said behind her and Y/N froze in place when she realized it was Yelena. "This young girl says she was kidnapped" The blacked haired man said and Yelena let out a chuckle. "I'm sorry she told you she was kidnapped she hasn't taken any of her pills today so she's kinda crazy in the head from a bad experience she had a couple years ago" Yelena said and the men all look at Y/N was a sad expression. "Sorry to hear that I hope she gets better soon" one of the other men said and Yelena nodded her head before grabbing Y/N by the arm and dragging her out of the diner and back to the black truck.
Yelena shoves Y/N into the passenger side before slamming the door shut and walking over to the drivers side and getting in. After she shuts the door behind her she looks at Y/N with a pissed off expression. "I told you not to tell people you were kidnapped, I told you to stay in the booth and wait for me to get back" Yelena growled out as she looked at Y/N who was looking down. "Look at me" Yelena shouted causing Y/N to look up at her. Yelena grabbed Y/N's jaw and yanks her forward. "You will get punished for that when we get back to the mansion" Yelena seethed out and Y/N's eyes widen in shock as Yelena shoved her face away. Yelena started the truck before driving away from the diner and heading back to the diner. She parked in front of the mansion a couple minutes later and turns the truck off before turning towards Y/N. She took out another syringe that had the same black liquid as before and Y/N's eyes widen in shock as she tried to open the truck door but it wouldn't open. Yelena took the cap off and grabbed Y/N's haw again before putting her knee on Y/N's legs so she wouldn't move. She stuck the needle into Y/N's neck before pushing down on it. She watched the black liquid disappear before pulling out the syringe. After a couple minutes Y/N goes limp making Yelena smirk. She got out of her truck before shutting the door and walking over to the passenger door and opening it. Yelena lifts Y/N out of the truck before slamming the door shut. She makes her way up the stairs to the mansion before putting her code in and walking into the mansion. She shuts the door behind her before making her way to the staircase. She made her way up when a voice spoke up. "Lena what happened" Natasha said and Yelena looked up to see Natasha at the top of the stairs. "She tried escaping so I drugged her" Yelena said and Natasha raised an eyebrow.
Yelena makes her way to her bedroom before opening the door and walking over to the bed. She dropped Y/N onto the bed before straddling the back of her legs. She pushes Y/N's shirt up before tracing Y/N's skin. She takes her knife out from her boot before placing the knife against Y/N's skin. "Gonna look so pretty with my initials on your back and now you'll know who you belong to and won't try to run away again" Yelena whispered out before she started carving her initials into Y/N's shoulder. She watched as blood runs down Y/N's back before leaning down and licking some of it up. She sighs as she closes her eyes before opening them as she looks down at her work. Under her initials she had carved an hourglass symbol into Y/N skin. "Everyone will know who you belong to little dove" Yelena said as she grabbed Y/N's left arm and carves her initial's on Y/N's left wrist as well. She grabs Y/N's right wrist before carving the hourglass symbol into her right wrist. Yelena watched as blood dripped down both of Y/N's wrists and onto the white sheets before smirking. She got off of Y/N before setting her bloody knife on the bedside table before leaving the bedroom and making her way to the bathroom to get bandages and wraps.
She walks out of the bathroom a couple minutes later and she sees Natasha standing there with her arms crossed over her chest. "Shouldn't you be back with your wife Natasha" Yelena said getting annoyed at her sister for staying in her mansion for so long. "She can handle herself Lena plus she's a serial killer just like us" Natasha said and Yelena rolled her eyes before making her way back to her bedroom where Y/N was still out cold from the drug Yelena used on her. She made her way back into her bedroom and walked back over to her bed before getting on top of Y/N again. She started bandaging up Y/N's wounds before cleaning up the blood that went down Y/N's back. She got off of Y/N again before grabbing her knife and licking the blood off of it. "You'll be mine forever now since you have my initials and symbol on you" Yelena muttered out as she sat down in the chair that was in the corner before smiling. "I can't wait for the future and what it brings us Detka" Yelena whispered out again before her eyes closed.

Secrets: Single Mom AU
Blake: (after putting Kela to bed) What a week... I'm sorry you had to deal with that. My mother can be a bit much.
Yang: It's no problem. I'm just glad she didn't kill me. (laughs awkwardly and grows silent)
Blake: ...Is something wrong?
Yang: I was just... uh.... I was just wondering when you were going to tell me you and Kela were going to move to Menagerie.
Blake: (shocked) How'd you hear about that?
Yang: I saw a sign in the window saying the building was under new management. When I asked the owner what was going on, he said that he sold the complex...and dropped that you hadn't renewed your lease... I figured that your mom visiting was just to work out the little details.
Blake: .....Yang...I'm sorry. I just didn't know how to bring it up. My job at Vale Publishing doesn't pay enough for me to afford the new rent. When I told Mom, she suggested we move to Menagerie. There were a lot of pros: Kela wouldn't be bullied at school anymore, we'd be around family, we'd have a big house to live in while I saved up, and I could get a job that pays better.
Yang: Blake, you don't have to explain yourself to me. I get it. I just... wish you had told me instead of me finding out on my own...
Blake: (hugs Yang) I'm still up in the air about it...
Yang: (hugs back) Why? Everything would be so much easier in Menagerie for you and Kela.
Blake: But you won't be there. Kela would miss you so much. I don't think I could look her in the eye and tell her we have to leave and you won't be coming with us.
Yang: ...What about you?
Blake: ...That's really a no-brainer. I love you, Yang. I want to make us work, but a whole continent away...
Yang: Would be hard on everyone... I know... and I love you too. Both you and Kela, more than anything in the world. So I want you to do what's best for the both of you. Don't worry about me.
Blake: (holds Yang tighter and cries)
-One Week Later Offboarding a Ship in Menagerie-
Kela: (holding Blake's hand silently as they make their way to the gangplank)
Blake: ....Are you excited to start a new summer in Kuo Kuana with Grandma and Grandpa?
Kela: I guess...
Blake: (kneels down) Baby, I'm sorry. I know this isn't perfect, but things will be better here. I promise.
Kela: I miss Yang... (sniffs back tears) She didn't even see us off...
Blake: (hugs) I miss her too, baby. I miss her too. But she couldn't take off work.
Blake & Kela: (walk down the gangplank to the dock and see Ghira and Kali waving for them)
Kela: (sees blonde hair hiding behind Ghira, gasps, and sprints down the dock) YANG!!!
Yang: (jumps out from behind Ghira) There's my little fighter! (catches Kela in a bear-hug and holds her tight) OH!!! I swear you got bigger just in one week!
Blake: (rushes up and hugs Yang) What are you doing here?!
Yang: You know. It's a crazy thing. My boss just so happened to need a few foremen to come to Menagerie on a new construction contract. Something about wanting to set up a new office on the island to help with the infrastructure. My name just happened to get pulled out of the hat.
Blake: (wipes tears from her eyes) You're ridiculous.
Yang: But you love me.
Blake: I do.
Kela: I love you too!
Yang: (clutches chest) I love you too, baby girl. (hugs and kisses Blake and Kela) I love both of you so much.

Just a random idea that I thought would be cute, if you don’t mind writing for it. So y’know how in Btas Jonathan and Harley are shown to have a sort of friendship? Well, I could imagine Harley learning about Jonathan’s relationship with the reader and pestering him about it to no end. Can’t really blame her considering Jonathan is, well, not the easiest to close to.
I like to imagine she find out about the relationship by pure accident too, since Jon doesn’t seem like the type to openly discuss his personal business like that. You can add on to this if you want, this is just the basics since this just popped into my head lol
WAIT THIS IS SO FUNNY
Also heyyyy I'm back in class I hate college
Secret Secrets Are No Fun
BTAS!Johnathan Crane x Reade. Plus Harley!
----
It was pretty late in the day, yet nothing had happened. Gotham was quiet, not a rogue to be heard. Hell, even the batman decided today he'd take the day off to do.. whatever that guy does. Bruce Wayne seems to be having fun though, maybe he should take a page from his book.
This wouldn't sit with Harley. With Ivy taking the entire day to manage her garden, and the Joker basically kicking her out for the day, what was a woman to do? She'd get kicked out any restaurant, and museums are so boring when you're not particularly in the mood. So a walk will do just fine, "You two want some walkies? Let's see if we can snag some hotdogs for ya!" Harley giggled, Bud and Lou excitedly rushing toward the door and crying in anticipation to begin. They're more like dogs now than Hyenas, she swears..
The funniest thing is, though they don't mean it, some rogues stay in touch. That's definitely the case with her and Johnathan, or as the citizens of Gotham know him as that fucking creep with the potato sack costume the Scarecrow. So why not stop by for a visit? Company is always nice! And Bud and Lou are the sweetest babies, who could say no? Once the trio finally stopped at the corner of his residence, Harley noticed the front door open. Before she went to walk, she saw someone unfamiliar walk out. Probably just a henchman or something, nothing to freak about.
"I'll be right back, okay? I'll pick up dinner for tonight, and if you haven't put down your work before I get back I'm gonna force relaxation on you!" The figure giggled, grabbing Johnathans hands to hold softly in theirs. "I promise, just after I write this one reaction down. I'll have it all put away once you're back." And then, Harley covers her mouth so they don't hear the gasp. THEYRE KISSING? WHAT THE FUCK, IS THIS ALLOWED?
After the stranger walks off, not really even noticing the bright blonde and two giant "dogs", she hops out the bushes and giggled "Johnathan Crane! I didn't realize PDA was on the menu for tonight?" She teased. Johnathan looked at Harley and groaned "Hello, Harley.. it's nothing to concern you." He grumbled, pretty embarrassed that she saw everything. "Oh really?" Harley giggled, waltzing right into the dilapidated room. "What did I say about the Hyenas?!" Johnathans gasped as Bud and Lou pushed past him. "Nothing to concern you." Harley laughed, sitting down on a ripped up couch. "Now, tell me everything! They're such a looker too! So kind and really looks at you the way that softens a cold icy heart." Harley fawns, Johnathan blushing "You think so..?" He quickly closes the door and continues writing in his already cramped journal.
"So.." Harley sprawled herself out "Who was that? I didn't realize you were seeing someone, do they know about your work?" She pestered, Johnathan groaning in annoyance "just a significant.. other" He replied, trying to be as vague as possible. Harley screamed, jumping up and going over to the red head to grab his shoulders "Oh my god! You are dating! For such a long time I thought you had a stick up your ass." She laughed, Johnathan now burning red with embarrassment. "They're awfully attractive, how'd you pull them even? No offense, you're just kinda-" "Don't continue that sentence." He growled. Harley shrugged, grabbing an empty box "Come on, let's clean up. I don't want to be the reason why your Significant Other gets on your ass."
With everything cleaned up and ready for Johnathan's date night (minus the vials Bud may or may not have eaten), the duo plopped onto the couch in exhaustion. "Alright.. Lab is clean. Now would you-" just as Johnathan got up, he heard a few knocks at the door. As the door opens, Harley sees the stranger in all their glory, whistling like a cartoon wolf. "You are quite a looker. Ciao, Johnny!" And just like that, she's off.
".. Was that"
"Yep."
"You know her?"
"I do."
"Huh.. I learn new things about you every day."

'She was the prettiest zombie I had ever seen. Stumbling through the aisles, restocking the shelves like her limbs were on auto pilot. Her expression never changed; she had the same dull grey eyes that matched her grey polo shirt and black jeans. The only color she had on her was that long pulled back mop of gold blonde hair. Hair like that would make Rapunzel jealous.'
Meat Cute @ Midnight
A Lost Boys OC x David idea.
Part 2
David sat on his bike, leaning forward arms crossed over the handlebars with his chin perched on top. He sat under the only broken light in the cracked Grocery store parking lot so as not to be spotted. He had been coming here for some time now, watching this mystery girl with great intent. While he was used to strolling the busy boardwalks it was about this time when he could find her. She never visited his turf so they never had a chance to chat. He didn't even know her name. Something about her lifeless expression and slumped posture made the vampire curious. He knew other supernatural beings existed but could humans be dumb enough to hire an actual zombie and never know? No, she was a human that mimicked the walking dead rather well. Monotony could do that to mortals. Be doing one job for so long without fulfillment and never being satisfied drained anyone.
It was at this point David perked up. An older man was walking out to the parking lot, coat in hand and handing the keys off to the girl at the door. "....Do not let anyone in here under any circumstances, understand me Miss Pierce?"
"Yessir, Mr. Bayker. Everything will be ready by opening tomorrow."
Bayker nodded and turned heel, heading to the old hatchback-the only other car in the parking lot, besides what David assumed was his Mystery girl's car.
He waited, watching the Boss's car take off and leaving David to enact his plan. Tonight was the night: He had to know her name.
Music droned mutely through the speakers of the grocery store, echoing. The only other sound Evie could hear was the sound of her own sweeping of Aisle 6. It was another boring night alone and still no closer to getting out. Out of this dead end job she had been forced to pick up while she waited for any school to call her back.
The girls' ears perked up hearing the sound of what felt like flour falling on the floor. Evie screwed her eyes shut, tensing for a moment. She had just swept that aisle. Letting her body loosen her feet morosely carried her to the Baking Aisle. There was no flour on the floor. She could have heard-no, her mind was playing tricks on her. It was already past midnight. Girls like her should be out on Saturday nights living it up but here she was.
"All work and no play huh?" A voice echoed.
"H-hello? The store is closed, I'm gonna have to ask you to vacate please…" Evie tensed again. She looked around. There was nobody in the store at all. Nobody except her. Or, so she thought. Out of the corner of her eye, there he stood: thick trench coat, gloves and a platinum spiked mullet to go along with the chillest expression as he leaned against a support beam.
"How'd you get in here? The store is closed and I checked the bathrooms, you need to leave."
"And leave a pretty girl like you here? I could never."
Evie wasn't amused. She studied him for a moment. It was one of the hooligans from the boardwalk her boss had warned her about, one of the ones that was banned from the store for causing havoc, chaos and disrupting customers.
"You need to leave. You're not allowed in here." She repeated.
David didn't reply at first, spotting her name tag.
Evie, he finally knew his mystery girls name.
"Why isn't a beautiful girl like you out there, enjoying herself?" He cocked his head gently to one side, curious and watching every expression cross her face. She was definitely unamused with his antics. She decided to humor him.
"Why aren't you? Isn't there anything better you could be doing than stalking the baking aisle at midnight?"
A soft chuckle crept from his throat. "I could be, sure but everyone deserves to be having a good time, so why aren't you, Eve?"
"It's Evie. And I have better things to do than get wasted on the boardwalk and get crammed between beach goers. You need to leave, leave and I won't call the cops." Evie finally relented, crossing her legs at the heel and leaning gently against her broom.
David stared at her for a good few minutes, taking in her soft eyes and her cute cheeks. "I'll be back tomorrow night, Will you be here?" He finally stood up, heading past her. She smelled like strawberries. Continuing to play it cool, he smiles and headed to the door, sliding the doors open easily. "You never locked the doors by the way."
He chuckled, heading to his bike. "Good night my fair Evie."
"Good night whoever you are…"
And with that, David had the doors shut on him, only to realize he forgot to give his name. He heard the doors lock with Evie stare at him with the same zombified expression as she walked back into the store.
David took off into the night, ready to relive his encounter with her in his dreams.
I will be making a profile for Evie later I just wanted to get this idea out of my head.

・┆✦MAYBE I'M JUST A GHOST — a haibara ai/edogawa conan fanfic.
Middle schooler Edogawa Conan liked mysteries, but he didn't like solving them. But she was a mystery he thinks he couldn't pass on: the young girl in the park who stays in the cemetery park where Agasa-hakase was buried. The young girl whose strawberry blonde hair seems very, very familiar.
It was a girl.
A girl with a shoulder-length strawberry blonde hair looking almost bored to death as she sat under the tree on the then-deserted park. He found himself walking towards her, without even realizing he was. It was only when she looked up and stared at him that he realized he did.
Feeling a bit awkward for approaching a girl without any sort of reason, he smiled sheepishly. "Hey."
The girl gave a nod, and silently moved slightly to the side: an action he took for an invitation to sit beside her. He shuffled onward, feeling both light and heavy at the same time. A weird, peculiar feeling.
When he was situated properly, he looked at her again while he tried fixing his glasses. There was something familiar and comforting on her features, although of course, he couldn't pinpoint what. He'd never met her before. Or if he did, he didn't remember.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, for a topic to this otherwise bland... conversation. "The gates are closing."
She had not looked at him the entirety of the time he sat down and after he spoke, she had eyed him. He found her eyes... familiar. He found her familiar. Why is that?
"How about you?" She was grinning rather sardonically. "What are you doing here?"
He'd snorted. "Visited someone." I feel like I should be here, was what he'd wanted to say, under this tree, with you, but it sounded too ridiculous to his own ears.
She didn't reply after that, and he couldn't think of anything to talk about. It didn't take long before he left, and he'd questioned her when she was going home.
She merely smiled at him and said, "Bring books next time."
Flabbergasted, he left the park, with more questions than answers on his mind.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Ah! Conan-kun! You're back!"
"Since a week ago, actually, Ran-neechan. I just straightened some papers though, so there's that."
"You should have told me! How was America?"
"Fine. How have you been?"
"Everything's been fine here in this side of the world too. Although Ayumi-chan and the rest of the Shounen Tantei-dan really missed you, you know?"
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"How did you know?" he asked her as soon as he sat down right beside her, handing her a Sherlock Holmes book.
"Know what?" she asked as she grasped the book on her hands. He didn't let go, however, at the sudden realization that the book he had given her was English, not Japanese. What if she didn't read English?
But the glare she had sent him actually kinda scared him (what a terrifying look on a little girl!), and the book easily slipped from his hold. She went back to her initial position, this time, reading.
He sighed. Something was nagging him. Perhaps it was the unanswered question from earlier. He feigned clearing his throat, and turned back to her again. "How'd you know I'll return?"
"It just seemed you would," she replied quickly, without even looking at him.
She flipped on the next page, and he found himself on another awkward silence. Or at least it seemed awkward to him. She didn't seem to be fazed by it. He decided he'll be bringing a book of his own next time. A decision that surprised him because it was something that proved he subconsciously decided he would go back here and have already planned what he'd be doing.
Huh. Weird.
"So, uh, what time did you leave yesterday?" He asked her hesitantly.
"I didn't," she replied with the same monotonous voice.
He frowned. "What do you mean you didn't?"
She paused in her reading to look at him degradingly. And it worked. He felt really stupid.
"It means," she said, "I didn't."
"But... but..." He stuttered over his words, wondering what to ask next. "Does that mean... do you live here?"
She sighed. "You could say that."
A young girl, about age nine, living inside a cemetery park. How does that even work?
"I don't believe you," he responded.
"I'm not asking you to. You asked me, I answered. You don't believe me? Not my problem."
Later, when he left, he waited outside the gates, wanting to see if the girl was telling the truth. The gates have closed. It was almost nine when he left, and there was still no sign of any sort of girl--or any sort of person, to be honest, leaving the premises.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Conan-kun!"
"Oi!"
"Conan!"
"Ahaha, hey, guys. Been some time, yeah?"
"..."
"Oi, oi, Ayumi, you don't have to cry--... Wha-t...? Mitsuhiko, you too? And even Genta?! Guys? Guys?!"
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Hey, uhm, so, what's your name?" He asked her while they read, side by side. She was reading one of the books from the Hardy Boys series, courtesy of him, of course.
"Ai."
"Oh, you mean like, 'love'?"
She shook her head, as she traced a finger down on the ground. She formed the kanji for sadness instead.
He blinked in surprise. Once, and then twice. "How about a last name then?"
"I don't have one."
"What?! Now I really don't believe you."
"Actually," she sighed as she retraced the kanji she had made earlier. "I think it's more accurate to say that I don't remember. I remember having one. I just... don't remember what it was."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Eh?! What do you mean? You not solving cases? That's... that's impossible!"
"I don't solve cases anymore, Mitsuhiko. I... I'm not a good detective. I've focused on my violin and writing stories now. I don't remember how to do it."
"It's just weird for me. Loath as I am to say it, you were the best detective in the group. I used to think I was second best, but then Haibara-san came in the group--"
"Haibara-san?"
"Sorry. Forget what I said, Conan. It's nice to see you again."
"Mm-hmm. Good luck on the exams."
"I will. Good luck to you too, Conan."
"Haibara, huh..."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Hey." Surprisingly, it was her who approached him first this day. "If I told you I was trapped in here, would you try and save me?"
He was surprised at his lack of hesitance when he said, "I will," and nodded. Normally, he'd think and rethink such stuff. Because Edogawa Conan is not heroic. Ever since he had left Japan before, he had given up on some ideals. He still loved heroes, the concept of heroes, but he knew it could never be remade in real life. Heroes make sacrifices and he is not ready to make one.
She smiled then, something that shocked him because he rarely ever see her smile. There was always this blank expression on her face. As if she was hollow.
"That's good to know." She closed her eyes. "Knowing that someone will be there when I need help. Thank you."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Mama."
"Co-kun! How are you doing?"
"I'm fine. Ne, Mama... Are you sure it's alright to be using some of Shinichi-niisan's stuff? It just seems wrong."
"I'm sure he wouldn't mind. He's my son after all. I'd know what he'd want and what he wouldn't."
"Okay."
"Oh, by the way, Co-kun? Have you taken your medications yet?"
"Uhm..."
"Now, now. That wouldn't do! Not at all! Don't forget to take them. Everyday."
"Alright, alright. Sheesh..."
"Co-kun. It's for your own good."
"I know, I know. By the way, Mama."
"Yes?"
"Do you know anyone called Haibara?"
"..."
"Mama?"
"Sorry, Co-kun. But I have to go. Someone's calling me. Bye bye!"
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
He'd found her that day wide-eyed and scared. And when she looked at him that day, she was pleading for help.
"I can't... I don't... remember..." She was gasping for breath. "... name... can't remember... don't..."
He swiftly headed to her, hugging her small frame. "Ai. It's Ai." And he repeatedly whispered her name to her. Again and again and again, until she remembered, until she knew. Until she had calmed down.
When it was all over and they sat side by side, he never let go of the little girl's hand as she told him what had happened.
"Everyday," she said, "I forget. I lose myself. The only thing I remember now is my name. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if it was ever mine. Losing my name..." She paused and played with the pages of the book in her hand. "I don't know why, but I have the feeling that losing my name would be the end of me."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"You and Mitsuhiko, in prep school. So, Conan, what's it like? Do they serve good food there?"
"It's okay, enough, I guess."
"Ha? That's not a good answer you know! Mitsuhiko rarely talks to me ever since he went there. Even though we always see each other. Conan, you're my only hope!"
"Oi, oi, Genta... Eh? Is that your phone?"
"Ah! Yeah, sorry I have to go. There's someone I have to visit."
"Eh? What's this? Does Genta have a girlfriend?"
"... it's girl friend, more like. And you'd like her. I promise."
"It isn't Ayumi is it?"
"See ya later, Conan."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Who... was the girl with you today?" she asked him. For some reason, she seemed quite restless. The way she fidgeted as she read the book made it obvious.
"You were here? But I didn't see you!" he exclaimed as he put down the book. "I actually wanted to introduce you two to each other, but--"
"Forget it." She said forcefully as she turned away from him and buried herself in the book.
"Why?"
She sighed, put down the book and looked at him. "I don't want to meet her."
He opened his mouth to speak, but she beat him to it.
"Don't get me wrong," she continued, "she doesn't look scary or anything like that, but... I'm scared. Whenever I look at her, I get scared. And it's not her I'm scared of. It's something else entirely. And I don't know what it is."
Surprised, it took him some time to recover to speak again. But when he finally did, he said, "She's Ran-neechan. Mouri Ran. She can be scary when she wants to because she knows karate, her mom is an attorney and her dad is a detective. She's a really good cook though. And very patient and kind and caring."
She blinked, and smiled. Her eyes had this faraway look to them. "She sounds like an angel."
He laughed. "She's the one I know closest to one." He smiled at her, as he fixed his glasses (which fell when he laughed). "So, really, you don't have to be scared to meet her. You'll be fine. And I'm sure, she'd like you. I'm her little brother so I'm sure she'd like a little sister too."
She gasped. "Sister?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"I... I don't... I think... I have a sister."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Conan-kun! I heard from Mitsuhiko-kun you go to Agasa-hakase's grave everyday!"
"W-well..."
"You really miss him that much, huh?"
"I do. After all, Agasa-hakase took care of me as much as Ran-neechan di--... Argh..."
"Conan-kun! Are you alright?!"
"I am, I am... Don't... don't worry about me, Ayumi. It's just... Just a small migraine, that's all."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"It's really weird," he told her as he lied down, no intention of reading today with lots of things going in his mind. "They all expect me to play detective every time something happens."
"Maybe they were used to you as that. As a detective," she replied as she put down the book, obviously sensing the other wanted to talk.
"I know, but can't they see I'm not that anymore?" he sighed. "I don't like being detective. It just puts people I care about in danger."
"If you want me to judge that, then I might need a story of what happened, not just that. Not just a statement," she looked up at the tree tops.
"That time, it was Agasa-hakase's funeral," his voice had gone rather distant, as if he had withdrawn. "Of course, I was devastated, who wouldn't be? He was the nearest thing to grandfather I had. Then they came. I... don't remember much of what happened, but... I'm told it's where Shinichi-niisan died."
And it was true. He doesn't remember much of that day. He remembered staying in the funeral, after everyone else had gone. He remembered a man who had raised a gun at him. He remembered a hand on his. What baffled him was that the feeling of that hand was different. Had it been Shinichi-niisan's, as people have told him, then why was it a hand that slightly smaller than his? Not only that, but that hand was cold.
He was pulled out of his reverie when he heard her speak again. "Shi... nichi?" Her eyes had glassed. She wasn't with him again. Her mind was trying to remember something.
"Ai?"
She turned to look at him, and he saw that she was crying. "Kudo," she had said. "Kudo-kun."
He had left her when she had calmed down, but he couldn't shake the feeling that every time she said the name, it was his she had been calling all that time.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Conan-kun, are you alright?"
"Of course I am, Ran-neechan."
"You look like you haven't slept in a week though."
"..."
"Conan-kun, tell me what's wrong? Please?"
"It's just dreams. Nothing to worry about."
"Alright then. But what are those boxes?"
"They're Hakase's old things. Subaru-san gave them to me."
"Agasa-hakase's?"
"Mm."
"Conan-kun. Open that, okay? I know there's something you're looking for, and maybe... well, maybe you'll find it there."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
He'd woken up after a nightmare. He'd dreamt of that day, of the funeral, and he dreamt the striking silver hair of the man with the gun. He dreamt of his cruel grin, remembered his dead, dead eyes. He felt the pain in his abdomen. And he also saw, in that dream a girl with strawberry blonde hair.
He struggled to get up, because it seemed to him that the past and present are mixing in his head. Perhaps it's the medicine. He managed to get himself to the kitchen, but paused at the sight of the box on the table.
He opened it to find a bunch of pictures. Of the Professor, of the Kudous, of Ran-neechan, of the Detective Boys, of himself. But what surprised him the most was the picture of a girl. It was Ai. The Ai he kept meeting under the tree in the park where Agasa-hakase was buried.
"How...?"
He felt the headache kicking in again and that was the last thing he remembered before he finally lost consciousness.
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"Ran-neesan!"
"So you found out?"
"She... she was Haibara Ai, right? I remember... I remember being shot, and her saying that... that... that she promised she'd come back to that place."
"Conan-kun?"
"She... she's waiting for me. I'm so stupid! I'm stupid! I left her--..."
"Conan-kun! Don't run off in the... rain..."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
The girl is scared, hiding behind the boy man, for he was Shinichi Kudou that day, and a silver haired man watches them from behind his raised gun. Shinichi stands in front of her to protect her, tried negotiating with this escaped convict to stall for time until he could think of a plan. But then the man fired the gun, and he was shot. The girl, Haibara Ai screamed. Shinichi was shot on his abdomen, and he slowly felt himself losing grip on his consciousness. He'd fallen on his back, and he heard Gin's voice, but he couldn't quite make out what he said. But then he forgot thinking about it, because Haibara, his cold, sarcastic, abrasive partner, leaned down to him.
"Don't worry, don't worry," she whispered, "When I'm finished... speaking... with him, when all this is over, we'll meet again, alright? Over here. We'll meet. I promise." And then the feeling of her lips on his forehead.
He'd woken up in the hospital after that, as Edogawa Conan, and he'd found out that Haibara was in the ICU, and it seemed like there was nothing anyone can do. Her condition was too delicate, too critical when they found her.
Hattori Heiji had visited him in the hospital.
The Osakan had called him Kudou, but he would have none of it.
"I'm not him," he spat bitterly. "I refused to be called--.... I'm Edogawa Conan. I can't be someone who just lets his partner disappear like so. I... I'm not Kudou Shinichi."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
"You...."
"Well, I guess my memories are back, thanks to you. It was always you, wasn't it, Kudou-kun?"
"I didn't even get to save you."
"That's how it works. You can't save everyone, Kudou-kun. Even Superman failed some times."
"Please don't call me..."
"Kudou-kun? But that's you. That's your real name."
"..."
"I'm really sorry about the cure."
"It's... it's nothing. Ran-neechan... she's happy now. Happier, actually. She never cries over some jerk."
"You do know you're still referring to yourself when you say that?"
"..."
"Kudou-kun. Edogawa-kun. They're the same person. Same mind, technically same body. Same everything."
"But Kudou Shinichi..."
"Kudou Shinichi did everything he could, and Edogawa-kun helped me with my memories."
"Oi, Ai, why are you... You're fading."
"Sooner or later, Kudou-kun. The promise was that we had to meet. Not stay."
"But..."
"I'd probably forget too."
"What?"
"Sayonara, Kudou-kun."
✦•┈๑⋅⋯ ⋯⋅๑┈•✦
He'd woken up drained. He lost her once, and he lost her again. How cruel can life be?
But all of a sudden, his phone rang.
"Conan-kun!" Ayumi. "Ai-chan's awake! She's awake!"
He thought his heart actually stopped beating for a moment, and when it returned, it was beating too rapidly, too quickly.
From the other side of the line, there was a scuffle occurring, and small hushed voices of what Conan assumed was Genta and Mitsuhiko. "You weren't supposed to tell him!" "He doesn't remember, remember?!" And the line was cut before he could even ask what was going on.
Although, he knew. He knew what was going on. Haibara Ai didn't die, like he'd thought. Haibara Ai was in a coma, and she'd just woken up.
He called another number. "Ran-neechan?"
Of course, Ran also already knew. "I'll ask Rei-kun to drive the two of us to the hospital."
˗ˏˋ ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ˎˊ˗
When he'd opened the door, he saw her--Haibara Ai--her eyes were bleary and form sickly, but she was actually smiling. The Detective Boys were there too, with Mitsuhiko actually studying on the floor, Genta fixing the flowers while Ayumi directed him.
He didn't enter right away. It was Ran who did, with her fiancé, who placed a basket of fruits on the table while Ran fussed over Ai. Ran smiled at Ai, there were no words spoken. But the taller woman hugged Ai, which the girl returned with much fervor.
Ran's fiancé's left the room with a farewell, and Ran stood up to that, ushering the Detective Boys out as she did. The remaining ones were, of course, Ai, and Conan.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Conan felt pressure on himself. What was he to say? It was easier to speak when he didn't remember anything.
Instead, she raised a hand to him with a small grin on her face. "Welcome back, Edogawa-kun."
He just stared at her.
She rolled her eyes. "What, you're gonna make me wait here like a jerk?"
He gave a start, and he laughed, as he made his way to her bed, and took her hand on his.

I liked the Icy/Sky fanfic! It left me wondering what it would be like with Sky dominating.
Can I order another but with another theme?
Thank you so much :)
Turning Tables
Characters: Icy/Sky Warning: This story includes smut.
In order for Sky and Icy to see each other more frequently and in secrecy, she had change her appearance with her magic to make her look like one of the specialists. Since the boys each had their own separate room in the dorms, Icy in her disguise could say she was just "hanging out" with Sky and do whatever behind closed doors. The two of them were in a weird situation, they weren’t exactly dating but they also seemed to have feelings for each other even if Icy didn’t show it much. If she felt nothing for him she wouldn’t spend most of her time in his dorm or encourage Sky to go places with her. With the knowledge of the Trix and Valtor breaking out of the Omega Dimension, security at Red Fountain tightened and in addition to the magic barrier, students needed to scan their ID cards to get in. Due to this, the two of them weren't able to see each other for quite some time. They could only communicate with their holographic phones but that just made her miss him being around more. This was quite an unfamiliar feeling for her which is why it took a while for her to resort to using her sister's help.
She knocked on the door that separated their rooms. A “what?” was heard on the other side.
“Can I come in?”
“Yeah sure”
She entered the room to find Darcy sitting on her bed with her laptop. “What do you need?”
“You know Sky, right?” Her tone sounded much different from her typical confident sounding one.
“The blondie you’ve been sneaking around with?” She looked at Icy over her glasses.
"Yeah, the security at his school is too tight so I was wondering if you'd help me get in"
She set her laptop off to the side, her interest seemingly piqued. "What's in it for me?"
"What do you want?" Icy replied.
"Do my chores for a week and I'll help you"
"Fine"
They decided to execute their plan later that day. The two witches made themselves invisible with Darcy's magic and she also used it to made an invisible opening in the school's barrier. "Why are you coming inside?" Icy asked.
"There's no way you'll be able to stay the entire night and besides... I'd like to pay Riven a visit"
Icy shrugged at her response. "Suit yourself"
When she made it to his room, she heard the shower running and decided to wait for him on the bed. A few minutes later he entered the room, wearing only a pair of sweatpants. "Icy! How'd you get here? It's great to see you" He sat down with her, pulling her into hug.
"Darcy helped me out"
He chuckled. "There's quite a large risk in doing that, and its just to see me? How cute"
The last remark caught her off guard. "W-well you wanted to see me too, right?"
"Yes but you're not here just to see me, right?" His fingers lightly trailed over her stomach and her breath hitched. “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about”
His fingers continued to brush over her body, just making their way to her cunt before retreating again. She huffed out in frustration, a light shade of pink becoming visible on her cheeks. “You look quite cute like this” he added. “All desperate for my touch”
The way he spoke stirred something inside her since she had never been spoken to like this, no one dared to, but she actually liked it. “Please...fuck me” she said, suddenly feeling small compared to the blond male.
He pressed a kiss to her cheek. “That wasn't so hard now was it?" He pulled her in for a kiss. "But if you want me to do something I'm gonna need you to take these clothes off"
She quickly rose off the bed and removed her clothes, her patience wearing thin. His eyes scanned her body as his hand wandered her bare skin. "You're really beautiful, you know that?" He said genuinely, the compliment making her blush.
He pulled her towards him to kiss her again, this one being much deeper and passionate. His lips eventually made their way down her jaw and to her neck, lightly nibbling and sucking at the skin. Relaxed sighs and soft moans left her lips as the tension between her legs grew stronger. While he did this his fingers trailed over the mid-section of her body and upper thighs causing her to shiver under the touch. His attention was then directed to her breasts, one of them being massaged by his large hand and the other being attended to by his mouth.
Lazy circles were drawn around her nipple with his tongue before taking it between his lips and lightly sucking. While his mouth went to work, his fingers wrapped around her other nipple, gripping and tugging at it gently. When he moved away from her breasts he trailed kisses down her stomach, inching closer and closer to where she needed him. A smirk found its way to Sky's face at the sight of how wet she had gotten. 2 of his fingers moved up her slit, collecting the wetness and bringing it up to her clit. His palm rested on her pelvis as his thumb drew steady circles on her clit, earning a few soft moans from her.
He brought his arms under her upper thighs, pulling her closer to him, and licked up her slit. After repeating the motion, he drew repetitive patterns over her clit. Icy cursed under her breath, her fingers finding their way into his hair and gripping it. He let out a low groan which sent vibrations up her spine. As the pleasure continued to build up, her legs clamped around his head, bordering the sides of his pretty face. A finger of his made its way inside her, slipping in easily due to her arousal. It targeted her g-spot, repeatedly hitting it while his mouth continued to go to work. He slipped another finger into her tight hole, slightly stretching her out. The room was filled with the lewd sounds of him eating her out and her moans, progressively increasing in volume.
He soon felt her pulsate around his fingers, signaling she was near her release. "Aww, are you close?" he looked up to see her face and she just nodded frantically in response. "Come for me then" With a few more pumps she came around his fingers and he happily lapped up her juices. He finally shedded his clothing before coating his cock in her arousal and easing it in. As he pushed himself in, she winced in pain so he peppered her face with kisses, mumbling words of praise. Once he was fully in he gave her some time to adjust before thrusting into her. His pace was slow yet deep, hitting all her sweet spots. Her face was flushed and her lips were slightly parted. She looked so submissive, a side of her that Sky had never seen before. The ice witch held herself with so much confidence, a simple glance filling others with fear and here she was, legs spread wide for him, and begging for his cock. The sight turned him on way more than he would ever dare to say aloud. Her eyes rolled back as his cock hit a certain spot, her hand instantly moving to cover her mouth to suppress the loud moan that escaped her.
He responded by pinning her wrists above her head, "I want to hear all your pretty noises" he cooed at her, pressing his lips to her again. As he increased his pace she moaned into his mouth making the only audible noise their body's clashing against each other. Over time the pleasure began to feel overwhelming causing her moans to turn into high pitched whimpers and whines. After bringing his hand back down to her clit and rubbing a few circles on it she came, her legs spasming against him.
He could tell she was getting sensitive so nothing but praise left his lips. "You're being so good for me" he pressed another kiss to her lips. After a few more thrusts he reached his own orgasm, painting her walls white. Once he came down from his high, he joined her on the bed. They remained in each others arms, just enjoying the silence until Icy spoke up. "What are we?" She asked bluntly.
He looked down to make eye contact with her. “What do you want to be?”
“I asked you the question first”
“Fair. If you’re okay with it... I want you to be mine”
She slightly blushed at the bold statement. “That’s not how you ask a girl out you know”
“Okay then," He titled her head up so they were making eye contact. "Will you do me the honors of being my girlfriend?”
“If you insist then yes I will” she looked off to the side. The comment seemed cold but he knew what she really meant.
He smiled and placed a kiss on the top of her forehead. “Thanks”

Chapter 7
Heath got divorced by his wife. He became different altogether both in his policies as an attache, and as a whole person since Kiki Camarena died.
He became less attached to his already less attached wife, Sara Heath. It was the last straw.
In 1987, he never saw Clarence Blyton ever again. He is still married to Sara in 1989 with the divorce proceedings and he is already
45 at that time. In 1989, Heath attends a party in Washington. A Vin Donneur. Heath sorts of fancies himself of a bureaucrat, and a politician over being a law enforcer.
Across the room, he sees a face and her bright autumn hair.
It's been two years and her beauty has never faded. Her strawberry blonde hair tighlt oky bunned in the center of her head. Her skin a bit tanned glimmering. Her greenish eyes sparkle like emerald. Her body, which he has wondered the most. The one he always sees whenever she walka away. She is draped in a silky red dress, and pearls around her neck.
When Blyton catches him looking he immediately raised his glass. Blyton nodded giving him a smile.
"Excuse me for a bit." She tells the Americans.
Heath knows she's walking towards him. And leaves his company.
"I got to go," He pats Mike's back.
Heath and Blyton walks down at the top of the capitol stairs.
"Why is that?"
"Agent Blyton, always a blessing to see you gracing the Americans again."
"God, Ed, where'd you learn to flatter like that." Blyton comments blaring her pearly whites between her reddish lips.
"Want a smoke, Agent Ginger?"
"Ed, I don't smoke and neither do you."
"Let's go for a fresh air."
They talk at the balcony. Talking about how things went south in Mexico since Gallardo's arrest. Heath asks her about why she suddenly bailed out.
The smile erased from her mouth. "My husband died."
"Sorry about that," Heath apologized.
"Why did you kill him?" She laughed
"Killed? He was killed?"
"Yes on duty. Buts fine I ha it sorted out."
"You slashed their throats back."
"I wish. It's complicated. Enough about that."
"You still posted down there?"
"There's no other choice ."
"Come on Ed sulking doesn't suit you,"
"Let me buy you a drink. I promised you one once Gallardo's operations fails."
"Thabks but uhhh-- I don't go out with married men."
"I was married. I'm divorced now."
She laughed. "You know how many tells me that? No idea."
" you can ask my ex wife. I'll give you her number. We just finalized the papers this year. "
"I trust your word for it but uhhh-- maybe some other time."
"Agent Ginger," Heath called.
"Just Clarence."
"Clarence, you were right about everything. I was too high to see it."
"Don't hit the ceiling then."
She poses to leave.
"Can I see you again?"
"Maybe, you can drop by at my restaurant in San Diego."
Blyton took out the wallet between her armpits and took out a card. Handing it over to him. A phone number and go.
Blyton's card has been sitting inside his wallet for days. He almost forgot. Inspecting a military base in Tijuana.
He took the initiative to visit DEA San Diego.
"Hello, I knew you'd call." Blyton said
"How'd you know?"
"This is a special line."
That night, Heath visited Blyton in her restaurant. Dining and dating.
Blyton is wearing some wrap black dressm Heath is still wearing hssi grey suit. Blyton calls it his winning suit. Everytime something good happens, he wears that prisitne suit.
They went to a bar nearby. Talking then walking. Heath notices Blyton is a wonderful woman. Heath finally tells what he wants. He wants to date her. In turn, might get married but for now, they would be dating.
"You don't know me, Ed. Right now, I'm in between living a ormal and being a mother."
They went out stealing a bottle of stolichnaya. Going to the beach drinking.
They kissed, and have sex in the car before Blyton asks goes home.
Their relationship presumes. Weekly meeting in Mexico or in San Diego.
It's a passionate love affair. Heath has never met a hungry woman like her. She's been with proper women. But Blyton is the most proper woman of all proper women. But in bed there's a side of her. He can't get enough of her. And he knows he has to have her.
He heard things about her mostly confidential. She is more of a murderer than a spy. Has been inhumane with her methods. But they were necessary evil.
But when he's with her, when he makes love to her--she brings out his own humanity.
Heath and Blyton, goes on a ride along the coast of Tijuana for the weekend away in a converter. They know this is the Arellanos territory, passing the gulf. An American and a British passing here can make them victims. But they have no fear. They know if they fuck with a DEA especially with a former MI6 spy, it's not going to be great.
Heath looks at Blyton, her red hair shining bright in the sun veiwng the coast. Heath squeezed her bare thigh. She's wearing a tiny, tiny denim skirt that's just a few centimeters before her mound can be seen and her arms bare with her white button up top.
Blyton felt his big hand and held it tightly. She turns with a smile, and Heath catches his. She can't see his eyes which seldom smiles. Only a grin, which is the most lvoin he can produce. She moved and lunged a kiss on her driving. If they die they die.
Heath snicks a kiss.
.
They reached a resort, a private one. Just one house along the cliff all theirs.
"Must say, love, you got me impressed."
Blyton smiled
"Only for the best." Heath kissed the woman, in her black bikini. Her body looking ghostly but the color improved since living in South of the USA.
"So... it's all private."
"Yes no annoying vacationers."
Blyton smiled to herself, thinking. "That's good "
She stood up untying her string bikini top until it falls away. Heath shocked but can't deny he's liking it.
"What are you doing?"
Blyton slyly smiled and sat over his lap, his dad shorts covering his manhood. They kissed passionately like new lovers. Ed squeezed her bums, they were rounding perfectly as he rubs his rough hands. Then a finger grazing over the bikini. Thumb pressing into it making the British squirm. "I want to taste you." Ed quickly carried her then laid her on the wooden table. His shorts dropped down, and his shirt gone, revealing hairy patches on his chest. They're getting whiter. They kissed first then her gracious chest down to the divides of the sea. He parted them and sees the pearl shining above it's glory.
His tongue sweeps it.
"Oh!" She moaned.
He keeps doing it, circling around then up and down. He drew an 8 and he smiled when Blyton's butt rose up. His strong hands reintroduced gravity pulling her down, pinned on the table.
"Ed oHHHHH!"
Blyton came spraying on his face.
After sipping all her juices, Heath repositioned her and entered into her slit carefullu at first until until he thrusts into her.
They continued to but then they continued on the cair where she is on top. Another explosive orgasm. Then off to the bed where they've been fucking again like rabbits.
"Edward," she hums. "I need you to know something."
"What is it?"
"I'm being activated."
"Activated? You're going back to London?"
"That's the plan. But it's just for a year or two ."
Heath seemed pissed. "When?"
"I'm still thinking about it."
"So you're leaving me and e

All there is in the room in regards to objects that can be used as lethal weapons are tiny scalpels. As good as Wolfwood is with any weapon, something as small as that is near impossible to work with. Eventually, his eyes settle on a IV stand near Brad. Without regarding his presence, the undertaker glides soundlessly past him and tears the stand from its bag. Not the greatest weapon, but it's something.
"Knew it was too quiet around here," Wolfwood gives away the fact that he'd been the one to worry about the graying blond, "Glad Needle-noggin could get to you in time. As for what's going on..."
Reaching into his memory physically sends a ripple of pain through his head. Well that's unpleasant.
"I don't know. Blondie wanted to come visit, didn't say why. Luida led us around the place, it seemed normal, some kids came up to me and I gave 'em candy." He will conveniently leave out the part where he and Vash were nearly caught getting too handsy. "Luida took us to the cafeteria and mentioned some kind of check-up for Vash, but she wasn't the one doin' it."
He straps the holster to his bare chest. It's not the greatest fit, but he doesn't want to take any chances leaving it behind. Wolfwood slams the button to leave the room and allows Brad to lead the way as he continues speaking.
"Whole table of researchers were watchin' us like vultures. We thought it was weird that you weren't around and Luida wasn't the one in charge of Vash's physical. So we, uh, gave them the slip and tricked them. It didn't work. I got stuck fightin' five guys or so while Blondie ran off to find you, and now here we are."
Hopefully they're close by now...
"How'd you get to popsicle status?"
Bizarre sights like this weren't exactly uncommon for anyone on Ship 3, not since the day they took Vash aboard as one of it's denizens as opposed to... well. Not... that. But this was definitely edging pretty close to taking the cake on 'weirdest thing Brad had ever seen'. The kid had gone from one foot in the grave to... this, whatever it was. A predator stalking about like he hadn't just been pulled off an operating table, all in seconds flat, once that blue stuff hit his stomach.
Whatever the hell the kid was, Brad definitely hadn't seen anything like it before.
It was fortunate Wolfwood wasn't looking back at him, too, because for a solid few moments, the man couldn't really do much to cover the shock written all over his face; mouth hanging open, the fine hair on the back of his neck and arms standing up. But he wiped the look off after a moment or two, resetting to his resting face, that slightly grumpy furrowed look with a quirked lip--
"I'll take you right to them if you fill me in on what's going on along the way." he grumbled, heading for the door. Much as he would've liked to be filled in before they headed out, there was no telling when the next power blip would hit. If he didn't unlock the door now, they could get stuck, "I got no idea what's going on, not since one of those science freaks had me shoved into cold sleep when they got on board. Ain't just them I gotta worry about?"

I'm Employed
Media IRL
Character Thomas Brodie Sangster
Couple Thomas X Reader
Rating Flirty AF
Concept Assistant
I sat working away on this damn report on my third cup of coffee since getting home when the apartment door opened to a very happy Thomas.
"How'd it go?" I asked as he dumped his stuff and went for a beer from the fridge
"First place was a bust he wanted five years customer service experience, second was a flop I needed first aid training"
"That's not hard to do Thomas"
"Next two where big no's apparently I didn't have qualifications"
"So you wasted your whole day at hat bus fair I lent you" I sighed
"AHH ah ah. Don't be so negative."
"Kinda hard when your four months behind in rent, don't have any prospects and just fucked four job interviews"
"I had five today" he says sitting at the table with me smiling widely
"And How'd the fifth go?"
"I'm employed. I start tomorrow"
"..... What the hell did you do beg?"
"No, I was just what she was looking for"
"She?"
"Y/n y/l/n, she wanted an assistant"
"An assistant? Even though you have no business training. No secretary experience. No reception experience. No admin or administration work ever in your life. The computer knowledge of a young bommer and the inability to remember papersizes?'
"Yes."
"And you were hired?"
"Yes"
"...are you sure because you're not great and picking up sarcasm Thomas?"
He grabbed a folded bit of paper from his pocket and it was true he had a job "... I'm so confused how the hell you did this"
"I'll be honest I'm not sure how I did either but I'm not questioning it"
"Company's to big to be a scam. And doing too well to be trying to pin shit on you. It might be a cult?'
"No I'm good at picking up cult vibes"
".... You almost joined a cult last year"
"Yeah and now I know the signs" he says "I think she might have hired me because I'm cute?"
"Really?"
"She did ask me to pick up pencils alot. And turned the heat way up so I'd take my jacket off. And now im thinking about it I'm not confident that was a spider on my thigh?'
"...and that's sexual harassment"
"Not if I'm into it"
"Are you into it?"
"She was wearing pencil skirt."
"Thomas. You need a job. For just ten whole minutes could you not think with your dick,"
"I have a job. I get paid on Friday and my dick is very happy"
"I can't believe I have to tell you this but don't fuck your boss"
I only got more and more worried about Thomas, he's my best mate but… he's not the brightest. And not the best and picking up social cues. Especially romantic ones, I can't even count the amount of times people have very obviously hit on him and it goes over his dumb blonde head like a rabbit on a pair of skiis, he comes home and explains his day and I honestly have to sit there and question how he isn't picking up that this boss of his is clearly into him, clearly hitting in him, and honestly sexualy harrasing and even exploting him a little and still he hadn't even picked up on it. So on my lunch break I decided to get him some lunch and pay his office a visit, I got our stuff and headed up having a little bit of a time to find the office but I found the small room eventually with a door to another office beside it
"Hi jack" he smiled
"Hi… what uhh what is happening here?" I asked looking at the general state of his office
"Ohh y/n said she didn't want to bother the maintenance guys with her broken spare chair, so I said I'd fix it for her" he explained working on fixing the small office chair meaning of course he had to roll his sleeves up and often be bent over or in strange positions as he worked and it was then I noticed the glass wall between the door and the other office the blind quickly closing as I looked at it
"That her office?"
"Yeah?"
"Okay" I sighed honestly kinda surprised he hadn't picked up that she clearly made him to this so she could watch him out her window
"How much work have you actually done today?"
"Uhhhhh… I forwarded an email this morning"
"How's it going?" A voice spoke up I looked and saw the door open and immediately I understood
"Almost done y/n" he smiled
"Hummm my handy boy" she Cooes stroking acrobat his shoulders as she checked his work "meeting in ten, bring the coffee cutie" she smiled before quite obviously slapping his butt and heading back into her office I glanced at her as she walked away and noticed him looking too before the door shut
"Did she actually just call you cutie?"
"It's a joke, she always says that when she asks for coffee"
"She slapped your ass"
"Yeah, that's how she tells me I'm doing a good job" he says
"Why are you okay with this? You know this is weird right?"
"I'm not an idiot jack I know this isn't how a typical office works. But… I'm fine with it"
"Why?"
"I'm getting paid to wear tight suit pants and get constantly complimented."
"You have a point"
"Plus… pencil skirts and stockings."
"What is your weird obsession with good legs?"
"You have your kinks I have mine, I like an authoritative woman with good legs sue me. And currently I am getting paid to do literally nothing for an authoritative woman with good legs all I have to do is look cute and bring her coffee"
"Yeah but this is a job a real job not some werid porno or fanfic, how are you ever going to explain to anyone job that you basically worked as a soft core pet boy for some business woman"
"Cutie coffee!" She called from her office
"Jack just stay out of my business"
