Ever pushed to your limit and told the same things over and over again To the point That you want to just completly drop the facade? To stop hiding To stop agreeing To finally tell them "I'm never going to be who you want me to be"

To tell your mother and father that you'll never live their ideal life. To tell them you're never going to become like them. Someone who believes that it's their daughter's duty to leave her own dreams behind to start a family she never wanted. That it's her responsiblity to carry the weight of her entire family on her shoulder. That it's her duty to look after her hard working husband. But what if it's not my dream to go to a good school, marry a good man and die bound to him, someone whom I'll will never truly love?

But what if thats not me? Prehaps I don't want broad shoulders and sharp jawlines, nor children and their laughter that they'll never bring me. What if i dream of slim waists and soft lips, a girl with green eyes and blonde hair?

I know you just mean well for me. That all you want is me to be happy. But every time you say those words And tell me, "We just want you to have a good life." It hurts. I know oneday when you realise that i'm not who you want to me to be, you'll turn your back on me. I don't think i'll ever be able to stand your dissapointment. I don't want you to be ashamed of your only daughter. I don't want you to think that this is just a phase, something i'll get over soon. Because its not. This will never change.

These are the words that I dream over and over of saying. You don't know, how badly I want to lay out the truth Tell you who i am. But I think we all know I'll never be able to.

Because I am a coward too scared. too scared to lose the love of the one who birthed me, the ones who raised me. the ones I'm supposed to trust the most. the ones who promised me unconditional love. You. too afraid of your reactions. too afraid to face the consequenses. too afraid of your backlash. No matter how much it hurts, I'd rather hide the most vulnerable part of myself than face your disapointment.

Because no matter how many how many sugared promises of acceptence you give me. Deep down I already know That theres always going to be a limit. A line. A dangerous border that should not be crossed. I know your love and acceptence can only be streched so far.

One day, you'll realise that you only ever loved me for what you wanted me to be. Not who I really am.

If you had to cut 3 scenes what would they be?

Do you get any of the characters names confused?

Which character is your favorite?

If you had to remove a character who would you and why? (you don't have to remove the character, just make sure their role is meaningful)

Which character do you relate to the most?

Which character do you relate to the least?

Do the characters feel real?

Are character relationships believable?

Are the goals clear and influence the plot?

Are the characters distinct (voice, motivations, etc)

Setting:

Which setting was clearest to you?

Which setting was the most memorable?

Am including enough/too much detail?

Plot and conflict:

Are the internal and external conflicts well defined for the main characters?

Are the internal conflicts and the external conflicts organic and believable?

I've been messaging with a 17yo kid from Gaza, named Nader.

When I asked what he wanted people to know about his family's situation, he immediately answered "the bitter cold".

Can you imagine being in this situation? Made homeless where the stores are no longer getting consistent deliveries and might be bombed, the government is barely operating cuz it keeps getting bombed, there's not even charity getting into your besieged area, and most people's jobs—including your big brother's—have been bombed beyond repair?

Where it's getting so cold and you CAN'T get warm because you're relying on strangers to help you get that coat or blanket, or bc you need the little money that trickles in to just survive??

And can you imagine living this way for OVER A YEAR as a normal teenager who has a little brother and a baby niece with malnutrition to stress about too?

I know people are tired of hearing about Gaza. It's upsetting that this genocide has continued so long with so few powerful people even trying to stop it. But we have a responsibility to our fellow humans, to help them survive persecution.

Nader is seventeen. None of this should be on his shoulders. Please help his family be safe so he can stop feeling like it's his job to make sure his family has what they need.

Honestly, you should've known better. Soap was never one to take a joke and drop it, and joke like this? You should've know he'd take it and run with it. You just never thought it'd go this far.

Someone had brought cupcakes, the kind that come with those gaudy plastic rings meant for little kids. You and Soap had ended up with the same ring on top of your cupcakes.

"Oh, hey. They're the same. Guess we're married now."

It was a joke. Something you had laughed off, before ducking out of the break room, missing the way Soap's eyes followed you. Missing the way he stared at you, something dark and hungry in those baby blues.

The next morning, Soap's waiting at your desk with flowers and a coffee. He gives you a bright smile, watching you as you take the flowers with a smile.

"Oh, my favorite! How'd you know?"

"I know all yer favorites. Part of bein' a good husband, aye?"

That makes you pause, coffee halfway to your lips. Husband? It takes you a second to realize he's referring to the joke you made yesterday, and you give him a sheepish smile, shaking your head.

"Johnny, that was a joke. I wasn't -"

"I've got to go. But I'll get ye later. Make a proper wife of ye before the day's over," he promises, leaning down to kiss your cheek.

You don't even have a chance to argue. And when he shows up with Ghost at the end of the day, all you can think to ask is why Ghost is there.

"Johnny said you needed a witness," is Ghost's reply.
