𝓜oodboards: a guide for beginner blogs!
I decided to bring here a small tutorial that can help other blogs that are starting out and still have questions that need clarification, with tips and links that you may need. I wrote this from my point of view of creating moodboards and I tried to be as brief as possible in my explanation, there may be errors in English as I'm not fluent in that language and everything here was translated using Google Translate, any questions you can contact me via asks or by message.
how do I find pics for moodboards?
Pinterest is where you will find most images for moodboards, so create a Pinterest board just for these images, separating them into subboards for each color or aesthetic to make it easier.
Some blogs leave the link to their Pinterest accounts in pinneds or in the carrd, you can follow them and save the pics they published on the app in your boards, this will influence the Pinterest algorithm so that they recommend more of the type of images you want.
You can also search on Pinterest for the aesthetic and color you want (coquette pink aesthetic, cottagecore aesthetic, y2k, etc.).
how to make moodboards + tips:
Well, it's not such a complicated thing for me. I generally make moodboards with 6 or 9 images, taking inspiration from the moodboards of other blogs that I admire, so I can get an idea of how to make the captions and how to position the photos in a way that matches them.
To make it easier, first I create the moodboard and then I look for an icon of a kpop idol that can match the aesthetics and color of the moodboard. The reverse can also be done: first choose an icon and make a moodboard for that image, paying attention to the color palette and tonality (and for some reason, for me it's better to create moodboards in Tumblr's light mode instead of dark mode)
When I finish the moodboard, I add the caption, the hashtags (which will be very important for your post to reach other people) and maybe a divider. You can find these dividers on other blogs or by searching for "dividers" on Tumblr.
If you want to split a photo into two or more images, use this site.
how to create captions:
To make the captions, I use parts of songs that I like or that I found searching on Pinterest for "Spotify song lyrics", but they can also be album or song names, movie names, a phrase you thought, etc. The symbols you will put in the caption can be found on this website or just by searching for "symbols", "kpop symbols", "kaomojis" on tumblr.
If you want to use a different font for the letters, there are these two websites (01 and 02). And to change the color, there are also these two tutorials (01 and 02).
what to do to make your blog "popular":
Add popular hashtags that relate to the content you are posting. If you use almost the same tags as other big blogs, your posts will have more reach. Posting frequently and your account looking nice and organized helps too.
Ask several other popular blogs to promote your account. This was very important for my profile to grow in the number of followers and engagement.
Join the events that some blogs do, as they offer good prizes like reblogs if you win. And remember to have patience, as it often takes a while to get good engagement on Tumblr.

discussing project 2025 and how it will most likely NOT affect ao3

ive seen some news in the past few days about something called project 2025 and how it could result in ao3 being taken down because theyre trying to limit pornography and theyre classifying the lgbtq (or trying to) as part of that content.
people are afraid that because of this ao3 might be taken down as a result but here's why it most likely won't and you don't need to worry to much (but should still be cautious just in case). from my reading of the situation theyre mainly focusing on porn sites, porn hub and things like that. theyre started making it so that you have to enter in your drivers ID to prove that you are above the age of 18 so that kids and stuff dont have access to this content.
of course that itself is going to take a while because its a whole damn website, its not just in the US but it's international in itself. the programming and passing the bill will take an extremely long amount of time.
but this bill (or whatever) also violates things such as freedom of speech. writing is a form of speech and you are allowed to write about whatever the hell you want and no one is able to take that away, whether it be online or in real life and believe it or not writing gay fanfiction is a form of speech. especially if youre creating healthy gay relationships and promoting lgbtq content. the government cant just take that away because they classify it as 'porn' when its clearly not.
thats called censorship, limiting what you see so that they can control what you get fed in media and stuff like that. but not only that but if they were to do this then it would also affect sites like twitter, facebook, discord, pinterest, tumblr, literally ANY website where you can make ANY statement this would affect.
and no one is going through with that lets be honest for a second. because at that point its just controlling the internet and whats put out and what isnt. and no one can do that, at least not in america because guess what? YOU HAVE RIGHTS. and i can NOT stress this enough.
the government is NOT allowed to control what media you get fed and what you create. in fact that cant even reasonably define lgbtq stuff as porn because guess what? it wont work. people will riot, they will find a way, and yknow why? BECAUSE ITS NOT PORN.
then again you must be wondering about the explicit fics on ao3 and to that i say what about the explicit stuff on twitter? the bots on tumblr? hell even youtube.
the government cannot control all of this.
and if they were to even try i guarantee that the silly little website known as ao3 will be one of the first not even top five things that they try to target.
they'll target pornhub, youtube, twitter, literally ANYTHING before they get to ao3. and even if they do im more than certain that ao3 will lawyer up and put together a case about why they should stay in tact.
ACTUALLY if they try doing this in the slightest about ANY website that site is likely to fight back.
so while you should stay cautious i dont think any major panic is necessary. in order to take down ao3 the freedom of speech would need to be taken away in an amendment and that is not happening.
so basically, stay cautious but dont be too worried. and if ao3 does get taken down (which it most likely wont) there will probably be a set date where you can download and save everything before then

How do you start a blog on a website of its own?
What to write in the about and what to publish as the first article?
1. First you pick a niche for your blog.
2. Choose a blogging platform. I recommend Wordpress.org / Wordpress.com. You can also use Blogger.
3. Choose a domain name for your blog and web hosting provider.
4. Download a blog template and design your layout. You can use Envato market place (I use this one but there are loads)
5. You want to start off with about 5 posts. Here are some things you can do to figure out what to write about:
a. Look at your audience. What are their pain points, concerns, and obsessions when it comes to your products?
b. Use sites like Quora where there are millions of people asking questions to get the best answers.
c. Use blog directories to search by topic.
d. Research competing blogs. Other blogs’ ideas for content in your niche can be a valuable source of inspiration.
e. Use Semrush’s Topic Research tool. With the Topic Research tool, you can enter any blog topic to get a list of related topics and questions that people are searching for.
f. Ask your readers. You can get feedback from your readers on what they want to read about by asking them directly or through surveys.
6. You can use your existing platforms, as well as Pinterest, or other social media platforms to promote your blog and drive traffic to it. It can be under your name or you can make an anonymous account.
7. There are several ways you can monetize your blog:
a. Sell a product or service. You can sell your own products or services on your blog, such as ebooks, courses, or coaching services.
b. Create gated content. You can create premium content that is only available to subscribers or members who pay a fee.

Ciao Royals! Welcome back to ROYALs lessons! We’re kicking off the year with something useful and fun: a NEW Top 5 list of Productive and Creative things to do with your free time!
Do you ever find yourself bored with too much free time and want something to do, but don’t feel like laying around watching Netflix? Have you run out of YouTube videos to watch? Maybe you’ve grown tired of scrolling through social media? No problem! Today I have 5 ideas to get you started doing something super fun and creative!
1. My first and biggest suggestion is to DIY something! However that alone is not very creative, so I want to challenge you: DIY something completely new and creative out of something old that you have. Instead of using craft supplies to make something from scratch, make something out of old clothes, toys, trinkets, and other things! And instead of following a tutorial, try to make your own idea or figure out how to create something on your own! A few examples of things you can try:
- Gather up all your old clothes that you absolutely don’t wear anymore. Try to create an entire new outfit out of your old clothes, meaning transform your clothes into something brand new!
- Look critically at old packaging, cardboard boxes and other would-be “trash” or “recyclables”. What could you make out of that? If you’re having difficulty coming up with ideas, search for “Upcycled Crafts” on Pinterest, you can usually find a lot of ideas this way.
- Look at your makeup collection! Chances are you might have some makeup you don’t often wear, why not try recreating it into new makeup by mixing pigments, turning lipstick into lip-gloss and other ideas?
2. Why not start a blog or other type of website? People blog for all sorts of reasons, whether you want to start a blog because you want to spread a message or just entertain, blogging can be a very fun pastime! You can blog to raise awareness for an issue that matters to you, to inform people on a topic that you’re knowledgeable on, to entertain people with creative writing, poetry, or photography, to promote a business, even just to express yourself!
3. Volunteer your time locally. Whether you live on a college campus (where there are always community service opportunities!), or whether you live in a big city or small town, your help could always be needed. Volunteer at your local food bank, animal shelter, homeless shelter, or even by tutoring people in your school. There’s always a way to volunteer!
4. Clean and organize your room. You can even go an extra mile and organize all your clothing. Donate what you don’t use or need or wear anymore. Clean out from under your bed, in your closet, under your dresser, and your floor. Vacuum or sweep. Dust and wipe down all surfaces. Maybe even wash your bedding.
5. Start a journal! You could journal about your day to day life, you could bullet journal and track your habits, you could do short fiction writing, you could write poetry, you could write down articles and blog post ideas, you could make a vent journal, you could make an age regression journal! Journaling really has endless possibilities. You could even art journal! Or scrapbook.
As you can see, there’s plenty to do when you’re bored that’s not only productive and creative, but also fun!

If fanart/cosplay is something you do a lot of, and you're wondering how to keep up content on your account, one idea is to focus on fanart/cosplay of non-US shows/films with no association with the struck studios, or switch to books/audio dramas/comics and other works that are definitely not struck!

DINER SIGN: HELP WANTED!
so you're unemployed, or at least in need of some extra cash, a family unit, something to fill a few hours of the week! and you're walking along the street, fresh out of CVs and wondering if a single one of the places will even bother to use the cell phone number, when you stumble across the diner. warm, bright, a place filled with a certain light and comfort that assures anyone from the happiest of newly weds to the most distressed of college students that they have a place in here.
so you walk in, and maybe the look on your face tells them enough, or maybe it's the ink that bled from the page and stained your fingertips, or maybe it's the nicely ironed shirt that now looks like it's been mangled by a violent attack. either way, once you're sitting down and a basket of fries is placed before you, a certain trio arrange themselves and prepare their spiel.
so what kind of jobs are available at the diner? a fabulous question!
waitress/waiter roles. can't get enough of them, especially now that there's only two!
host/hostess roles. responsible for table bookings, ordering in new stock, greeting new customers, often asked to perform a few serving duties here and there as well.
chefs. listen, if you can deal with henri and ramsay bickering non-stop, there's always room for another chef at the diner!
social media reps: eli made a fantastic website and instagram account, but unless the kids are involved, they rarely get used efficiently. if you know what a filter is and know how to use tagging systems, you're already hired!
bakers: listen, tim's a kid. he's gotta go to school. if you see a bag of flour as an infinite realm of possibility, pls throw in your CV. also if you can make toast you're already in with a chance.
security: danny tries to do this job, but frankly he jumps right into "fuck off" mode too fast. if you're good at reading people and diffusing unnecessary situations, ur already in for an interview.
repair-people: you good with fixing ovens, walls, plumbing, electrics, windows? all of the above? guess what! you're hired.
event planners: now that the diner is gaining so much media attention, people want them to cater for weddings, or to hold family events or private events at the diner itself. as such, event planners are in high demand!
delivery drivers: they're also testing their talents with a take-out app, and so if you can ride a bike or drive a car, you're already on your way to a promotion with this job!
florists: yeah, they do love flowers here! particularly helpful if you can also work your way with herbs, vegetables and edible plants, but flowers alone are a necessity here at the diner!
interior designers: listen. times are changing. seasons are shifting. every month brings new events and aesthetics that people struggle to keep up with. if you like pinterest boards, get ur butt into the diner for an interview!
musicians/entertainers: what is a meal without entertainment? that's what we want to know. if you can make people laugh, or if you can sing, play an instrument, entertain the masses, you're already a vital part of the team!
teachers/trainers/tutors: the diner has recently acquired a neighbouring building with plenty of rooms and spaces for people to teach classes and seminars and other such things. if you're a therapist or looking to teach languages or other skills, the diner is more than happy to help set up the room for you!
