Nightcrawler Comic Recs (for beginners)
Tumblr media
This list is designed with fans who have little to no knowledge of X-Men comics in mind and with an emphasis on what I would call "fangirl appeal". Each title is listed in chronological order with descriptions, a reading order, and my reasoning for each of them under the readmore for those who need it. In my opinion, all of them are good places to start!*
I primarily read comics on Marvel's official app (marvel unlimited) but hoopla (free through many public libraries) and comixology are other good options for online reading. If you want physical copies you'll get the best deals at your local comic shop or on ebay.
If you have criticisms, additions, or continuity question feel free to hit up my ask box!
Tumblr media
SERIES: ❥ Uncanny X-Men by Chris Claremont (1975) ❥ Excalibur by Chris Claremont (1988), Alan Davis (1991), and Warren Ellis (1994) ❥ Uncanny X-Men by Joe Casey (2001) ❥ Nightcrawler (2004) ❥ Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender (a controversial choice since this isn't main universe/616 Kurt) (2010) ❥ Amazing X-Men (2014) ❥ Nightcrawler (2014)
OTHER RANDOM ISSUES**: ❥ Guardians Team-Up #6 ❥ Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #17 (2017)
*with the exception of Uncanny X-Force. I wouldn't read this until you have a grip on 616 Kurt's characterization.
**these are primarily team ups I discovered through my habit of buying random comics with Kurt on the cover. I'll add more if I remember them.
Tumblr media
Uncanny X-Men by Chris Claremont (1975) was an ongoing team book. The sixteen years of it that were written by Claremont are the iconic building blocks upon which all other X-Men comics are built. It's the book Nightcrawler was on from 1975 to 1988 (#94-227) after he was recruited by Professor X. Unfortunately, Kurt is rarely the main character. He has a lot of standout moments but is more likely to just be part of the team. If you like a sweet, sarcastic, curly haired Nightcrawler with terrible fashion sense this book might be for you!
How to start reading it:
Giant-Size X-Men #1 (his introduction, basically a series pilot that rebooted the X-Men).
Uncanny X-Men #94 (directly follows giant-size)
From there you can read numerically.
Read as much uncanny as you want. If it gets boring/isn't for you try Excalibur!
Specific issue recs if you don't want to start at the beginning:
#110: The X-Men fight a villain of the week who traps them in the danger room with the safety controls off. It's also the first (I think?) time the X-Men play baseball together. Kurt is really fun in this issue! #123 & 124: The X-Men fight Arcade for the first time. The issues are split pretty evenly between the whole team but Kurt has some really good moments. #139 & 140: Kurt goes to Canada with Wolverine. They fight a Wendigo with the canadian super-team Alpha Flight and he becomes the first X-Man to learn Wolverine's real name. The art in this is really expressive. Kurt makes a lot of good faces. #168: This issue isn't primarily about Kurt but it is the one where he does the Burt Reynolds cosmo centerfold pose for his girlfriend. #169: Continues from 168. Opens with Kurt in the bath with his girlfriend. He then teleports around the city naked to save someone. #183: Kurt and Wolverine take Colossus out drinking after he breaks up with Kitty. Kurt is there as "mediator" because he knows Logan is mad about the way Piotr treated Kitty. They end up getting into a fight with the Juggernaut at the bar. #204: Kurt restores his faith and self confidence by taking on Arcade solo when he sees a woman being kidnapped off the street.
Tumblr media
Excalibur by Chris Claremont, Alan Davis, and Warren Ellis (1988-1998) was a self-contained ongoing comic that ran through the late 80's up through the mid 90's. Excalibur is the British X-Men adjacent team that Kurt joined and then became unofficial leader of when he thought the other X-Men had died. Excalibur is more magic and fantasy based than X-Men usually is. As written by Chris Claremont it's also basically a sex farce. I consider this book a definitive characterization of the character. The art by Alan Davis in the first ~50 issues is the sexiest Nightcrawler has ever been and probably ever will be. If you like a classically handsome, confident, overtly sexy Nightcrawler this series might be for you.
How to start reading it:
Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn (shows the team being formed, basically the series pilot). There's a ton of Deep Lore and callbacks in it but if anything is important it will get explained more directly by narration.
Excalibur #1
From there you can read numerically
The first 67 issues are pretty consistently good but you can always stop After the Cross-Time Caper story if you want something more modern
If you want to keep reading after #67 I suggest skipping the issues written by Lobdell and going straight to the Warren Ellis era
Specific issue recs if you don't want to start at the beginning:
#4: The beginning of the Kurt/Meggan/Brian love triangle. Includes the infamous page where Kurt and Meggan nearly kiss. #16: Another infamous issue. The team land in a new universe and get separated. Kurt fights some air ship pirates before getting seduced and fucked just barely off panel by an Evil Queen. He also ends up wearing some really skimpy "battle armor" towards the end. It's truly incredible that this was even allowed to be published. #23: Judge Dredd parody. The team land in a new universe and get separated (again). Kurt has some really great fight scenes against an alternate universe human version of himself and a really heartfelt story with that universes version of Meggan. #44 & 45: The british government asks the team for help investigating a series of strange robberies in London. Everyone but Kurt is out of town on personal business and his leg is broken so he decides the thing to do is recruit the chaotic aliens helping rebuild the light house as a substitute team - his "N-Men"! If you read these issues by themselves just skip over the sections about the other characters.
Tumblr media
Uncanny X-Men by Joe Casey (2001) (#395-409) was part of the ongoing Uncanny comic. It primarily follows a team of X-Men tracking down the Church of Humanity cult as they try to eradicate mutants. This run had a lot of different artists on it but they're all good. The aesthetics and vibes of this run are some of my favorites. Casey writes Kurt a bit more grounded and less jokey but without sacrificing any of the witty banter which I like. If you like a less human-looking Nightcrawler with glowing eyes and pointy teeth this series might be for you!
Tumblr media
Nightcrawler (2004) is a twelve issue self-contained mini-series. It's the second of three Nightcrawler self titled minis and it's also my favorite! Kurt gets enlisted as basically a supernatural investigator by Storm after a group of children die mysteriously. He has three different love interest in this which the story even calls him out for at one point. The art is more grounded than the usual marvel house style which isn't for everyone but I personally enjoy it. If you like a softer nightcrawler or a Nightcrawler in street clothes this book might be for you!
Tumblr media
Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender (2010) (#20-35) was an ongoing team book. It's maybe my most controversial pick because it's the Nightcrawler from the Age of Apocalypse but I'm gonna count him because he's hot. He jumped universes to join X-Force (the X-Men's covert black ops team) in issue #11 during the period of time when main universe/616 Kurt was dead. The first arc he's in is all AoA stuff so you can skip it and start at #20 (the Otherworld arc) if you want. AoA Kurt is a darker, more violent version of the character who's only interested in revenge. A lot of Nightcrawler fans hated his inclusion on the team but I personally think he's great! It also helps that the art in this is done in this gorgeous almost abstract digital watercolor style. This version of Nightcrawler ends up dying in an event comic when the series ends but don't even worry about it. Also, maybe don't start with this one. If you like the idea of a star trek-style mirror universe Kurt try reading this!
Tumblr media
Amazing X-Men (2014) was an ongoing team book. It's the series that brought Kurt back from the dead after his death several years earlier in a crossover event. It's a really good jumping on point for modern Nightcrawler but the plot is kind of bonkers. If you read it try not to think too hard about the implications of that first arc. Most of the weirder stuff in it doesn't really matter outside of this book anyway. The art is really good - Kurt is very pretty in this. In the early issues he also has great romantic tension with Storm and Wolverine if you're in to that! It's very intertwined with the 2014 solo so if you like this definitely read that! If you like a lanky more cartoony Nightcrawler try this series and the 2014 miniseries!
Tumblr media
Nightcrawler (2014) is a twelve issue self contained mini series. It takes place after the first arc of Amazing X-Men but can be read independently since narration explains everything that happened. I'll be honest, this series is fun but not very memorable. The art is nice, though. If you like a lanky more cartoony Nightcrawler try this series and Amazing X-Men!

MEET ME IN THE HALLWAY
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
`౨ৎ~ pairing: ateez x gn!reader genre: forbidden romance, fluff, kinda suggestive if you read between the lines ౿ ׂ ִ warnings: kissing (?) word count: 2k.
author's note: highly inspired by this post. ps: the divider does not belong to me.
Tumblr media
﹒ ◠ ✩ hongjoong ⊹ ﹒
Two powerful families competing fiercely in the construction industry, locked in a never-ending battle over urban development projects: his family prioritizes large, luxurious complexes, while yours is dedicated to eco-friendly, sustainable initiatives. The differences between you go beyond business, turning what should have remained professional into something personal and deeply entrenched. Your parents have made it clear—they never want you anywhere near the Kims, and his parents share the same sentiment. But Hongjoong couldn’t care less about the rules. He sneaks to your bedroom window in the dead of night, not with malice, but driven by an irresistible urge to explore what he’s been told is forbidden. You’ve tried pushing him away, again and again, but nothing works. He’s relentless, and despite all the barriers that should keep you apart, to him, you’re the only thing that matters.
“You can’t just show up here like it’s no big deal,” you whisper-yell as you open your window. “They’ll find out, and that’ll be the end of both of us.”
“I’ve tried to forget about you, but it’s impossible.” Hongjoong exhales deeply, slipping through the window with ease, like sneaking into your room is something he’s mastered. “I missed our midnight talks.”
You raise an eyebrow, crossing your arms, your voice dripping with sarcasm. “What? Are you in love with me or something?”
He smiles, stepping closer until he’s near enough that you can feel his warm breath on your face. “And what if I am? Would that be so bad?”
﹒ ◠ ✩ seonghwa ⊹ ﹒
Someone born into a life of luxury, with a future carved out by endless wealth, isn’t supposed to waste his time with people of "lower status." As the heir to a well-established hospital chain, Seonghwa has never had to worry about anything—not even the clothes on his back. His sole purpose in life, as dictated by his family, is to follow the path toward taking his father’s place. But with dreams of his own, he somehow ended up in your studio, signing up for a beginner's sewing class. It wasn’t exactly the best first encounter, especially since your classes weren’t designed for heirs of empires, but over time, Seonghwa managed to capture your attention. He now pays for private lessons, driven by his passion to become a fashion designer. He shares sketches of outfits with you, designs he’s never dared to show anyone else. What was supposed to be a professional relationship between teacher and student gradually became something more. And honestly, how could he not fall for you?
“I know I shouldn’t be here, but I couldn’t stay away.” His words spill out the moment you open the door, sadness pouring at your feet. “Please, just give me a chance to fix all of this.”
“You’ve already caused enough damage.” You take a deep breath, holding back tears. Watching him beg for something you both know he can’t change feels like a knife to the heart, and if you’re not careful, you might cave. He steps closer, and you know this is the moment to slam the door in his face—before his father shows up again, threatening to destroy everything you've built if you don’t leave Seonghwa alone. But your heart wavers, seeing the redness in his eyes. “Don’t make this harder than it already is, Hwa. We can’t be together. If anyone sees us, it’ll be the end for both of-”
“Just one last time.” He’s crying now, his hand gently cradling the back of your neck like he's afraid you’ll disappear. “Let me be with you one last time.”
﹒ ◠ ✩ yunho ⊹ ﹒
It’s not easy having parents who watch your every move as if you’re incapable of taking care of yourself. But if it weren’t for their overbearing protectiveness, you never would’ve met Jeong Yunho, your bodyguard—the one who pulled you out of your monotonous life and gave you a taste of freedom. He sneaks you out for daring, late-night adventures, always careful not to push things too far and jeopardize both your lives. Yunho tried to keep his distance; he was never the kind of employee to cross the line. But avoiding his inevitable downfall with you was impossible.
“They warned me about you,” he says softly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear, his hand gently cradling one side of your face. “But I didn’t listen.”
“And I’m glad you didn’t.” You smile openly, wrapping your arms around his waist before pressing your lips to his with intensity.
﹒ ◠ ✩ yeosang ⊹ ﹒
When the extravagance of your world becomes overwhelming, you find yourself seeking a place to breathe. Conveniently, that place always ends up being in the arms of Yeosang, the butler of your household. You've known each other since childhood, long before he took over his father’s role and before you were promised to marry someone you don’t love. The quiet meetings behind the tallest hedges in the garden offer you a peace you’ve never experienced around your family. The love that has never faded grows more painful as your wedding day draws near, and no matter how much you both long to escape, you know you've been condemned since the day you were born.
“This is the last time,” you whisper, casting a sorrowful glance at the man lying beside you. “We can’t keep doing this.”
Yeosang doesn’t respond right away but holds your gaze with a quiet tenderness. Then, after a few torturous seconds of silence, he presses a kiss to the back of your hand. “We said the same thing the last time we met,” he murmurs, leaning in to kiss you slowly, lingering. “The truth is, I’d have to move to another continent to ever be able to stay away from you.”
﹒ ◠ ✩ san ⊹ ﹒
He fought hard to get where he is. It wasn’t easy landing a job at one of the most prestigious networks in the country, and once inside, he quickly realized why the selection process was so difficult. His bosses are strict; they don’t tolerate irresponsibility and push him to the brink of exhaustion. Still, the salary makes it all worth it. San is building his life, shaping his dream career as a reporter, doing everything he can to avoid trouble. That is, until you, the boss’s daughter, showed up and threw all his plans into chaos. It wasn’t your intention to disrupt anyone. You’ve always kept a distance from the company’s employees, taking your duties as an heiress seriously. But who could have predicted that at a party with over 100 people, you’d end up kissing the newest intern?
“No one can know about this, promise me,” he whispers, gripping your elbow as he keeps the two of you dangerously close. “That was a mistake, and it won’t happen again.”
“As if I wanted it to,” you fire back, your breath mingling with his as your gaze locks onto his—eyes that are saying something completely different. “But if you keep pulling me into closed-off spaces out of nowhere, people are going to get suspicious, and it won’t be my fault.”
“Right, we should keep our distance,” he says, yet doesn’t move an inch. “I just wanted to make things clear.”
“I got the message loud and clear.” With every passing second, your faces inch closer. San tightens his grip on your arm, though not enough to hurt. He tilts his head, muttering a soft “good” against your lips before making the mistake of kissing you again.
﹒ ◠ ✩ mingi ⊹ ﹒
A friendship that has lasted for years could never be shaken by something trivial—or so you thought. But could your feelings for her brother be enough to ruin everything? She’s always made it clear that Mingi is off-limits. He constantly breaks her friends’ hearts, and they always end up drifting away. So, to keep the friendship intact, she put up a wall between the two of you. Too bad it only makes things more exciting from his perspective. You try your best to resist Mingi’s advances, but he makes it nearly impossible when he walks around the house shirtless after training, or when he finds lame excuses to touch you at random moments—like holding your waist to squeeze past you when there’s clearly plenty of space. It’s ridiculous.
“You really need to stop doing that,” you say, crossing your arms like you’re throwing a tantrum. Mingi looks at you, eyebrows raised, with that same clueless expression that drives you insane. “I’m serious, Mingi.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he shrugs, leaning forward to reach something in the back of the fridge.
“There are literally two other ways to get to the fridge, and you chose the tightest spot—right where I’m standing.” You stomp your foot. “And not only that, you—”
Your sentence is cut off by the sound of the fridge door closing. Mingi steps closer, and you hold your breath. “And I what?” he asks, leaning against the counter without breaking eye contact. “Last I checked, this is my house, and I can walk wherever I want.”
“You know exactly what I mean,” you mutter, avoiding his gaze and staring at your toes. Mingi gently lifts your chin, forcing you to look at him again.
“I thought you liked it when I touched you.” He tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear, his hand slowly trailing down your shoulder, along your arm, until his fingers entwine with yours.
“We shouldn’t…” your voice falters. “Yena is—”
“I know, but I can’t help it sometimes.”
﹒ ◠ ✩ wooyoung ⊹ ﹒
He’s never been the type of guy to care about his friend’s girlfriend. It’s one of the most disloyal things you could do to a friendship. But when it comes to you, Wooyoung loses every last shred of honesty within himself. Falling for you was never part of his plan, and he tried everything he could to push those feelings away. If he had known that taking care of you when his friend messed up would spark such a dangerous affection, he would have let you handle your problems on your own. You, on the other hand, are deeply grateful for the countless times Wooyoung has saved you, and for showing you that love isn’t what you thought it was. All the lingering hugs, unfinished sentences, and the longing to give in to something forbidden have made you both question how much you're willing to sacrifice for each other.
“Every time I see you, I have to remind myself that you’re not mine,” he says, standing just far enough away to keep himself from giving in to his darker desires. He’s held back all this time, never crossing the line—but here you are, at his doorstep on a Saturday night, minutes after his best friend just left your house.
“So please, don’t make this harder than it already is.”
“And you think it’s easy for me?!” you explode, pushing his chest hard enough to make him stumble back a couple of steps. “You decide one night that you’re going to cut me out of your life, and you expect me not to react?”
Wooyoung grabs your arms, stopping you from hitting him again. “I’m trying to make things easier,” his eyes fill with tears, or maybe it’s yours—both of you just staring at each other, struggling not to sob out loud. You finally weaken, collapsing against his chest, muffling the sound of your pain as Wooyoung holds you tight, the way he always does.
“There’s no easy way out of this. No matter what we decide, someone’s going to end up hurt.”
﹒ ◠ ✩ jongho ⊹ ﹒
The life of a celebrity isn’t always glamorous. The fear of appearing in the tabloids caught in a dating scandal can feel more terrifying than the fear of death itself. After appearing on a variety show with you, Jongho developed a silly crush that, over time—fueled by risky texts during award shows and innocent meetups while everyone else was asleep—grew into something much bigger. To keep things discreet, you both decided to act indifferent toward each other, even though it’s become nearly impossible for him.
“Every moment we spend together is a risk, but I just can’t stay away,” Jongho says as he plants a flurry of kisses across your face. He made sure to clear out everyone from the dressing room just to have a few minutes alone with you before the show.
You laugh, trying to pull away from his eager touch to keep him from messing up your appearance. “Jongho! I have a performance in half an hour. You can’t mess up my makeup!”
He immediately steps back, placing his hands behind his back in an exaggerated effort to keep them off you. “You’re right. Sorry.”
“We’ll see each other later, okay?” You give him a playful, reassuring smile.
“Okay, I’ll try not to die until then.”

All about: ARIES ♈︎ - The Zodiac Signs
Tumblr media
Hello and Welcome to my first Blog Post! I'm learning about how Tumblr works so forgive me if the layout is a little strange! The first 12 posts on this account is going to be my Zodiac Signs series, where I describe my observations and provide relevant information for those of you who want to get into Astrology.
Take a look at my newest posts for information on: Taurus and Gemini! Cancer will be posted later today. :)
I hope this content will be helpful for beginners, or maybe people who are experienced in Astrology to provide a new perspective! If you feel like this post has helped, feel free to like, follow, reblog or repost (as long as I'm credited). I'm open to answer questions too if you'd like to know more about my opinions!
~ Aries ♈︎
Date (Only applies to Sun Signs): March 21 - April 19
Symbol: ♈︎ - The Ram
Associated House: First
Associated Degrees: 1°, 13°, 25°
Associated Energy: Masculine
Planetary Ruler(s): ♂ Mars (Modern and Traditional)
Element: Fire
Modality: Cardinal
Keywords: Headstrong, Entrepreneurial, Ambitious, Motivated, Spontaneous, Impulsive
Natives of this Zodiac Sign are naturally quite entrepreneurial, competitive, determined, ambitious and passionate... Once they want something they want it and will stop at nothing until they achieve their goal (this is heightened if Mars is in Aries!). Aries is the fighter that never stops fighting, seeking out excitement and holds certain ideals tight to their chest. They can be reliable friends, protective ones too! In terms of how an Aries placement carries itself, it can be quite intense to certain people and they have the vibe of someone incredibly strong. They may also have an affinity for sports, science, or product design - as long as they can keep their body and mind engaged.
Surprisingly to some, Aries aren't solely focused on themselves and may have a very strong humanitarian streak. Not only that, but they may have unique/controversial viewpoints on certain topics (such as science, fashion, etc - they are the groundbreakers!) or have a creative/philosophical streak.
When Aries feels lucky or like things are going well, gaining rewards for their hard work they will want to engage in those as much as possible which can sometimes result in overindulgence (For example, working hard at a job and they received a bonus - they might spend it very quickly whilst they are caught up in the excitement) or display a cocky attitude which may get on people's nerves.
If an Aries placement becomes insecure - maybe they lost something important to them, it may result in passivity, loss of passion, loss of determination and may become extremely lazy or stuck in a basic routine(like their fire has burnt out). It can take a long time for an Aries to get back on track, but once they do there is no stopping them, especially if they have learnt to keep a "steady burn".

Notes/Keywords/Phrases
Zodiac Sign
Each of the Zodiac Signs are a constellation. The Zodiac Sign shows how a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is being represented and expressed. Once a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House falls into a Zodiac Sign, it adopts the energy of it.
For example: if Mercury falls into the constellation Sagittarius, Mercury adopts Sagittarian traits. If the 6th House falls into the constellation Aquarius, the 6th House adopts Aquarian traits.
Associated House
The Houses in Astrology are dependent on the time and location of birth in a Natal Chart and there are 12 different ones. Each of these 12 Houses are then assigned to a Zodiac Sign and 1 or 2 Planetary Rulers. The Houses in Astrology show you what area of life the energy of the Zodiac and Planets/Asteroids/Fixed Points is appointed to and helps provide depth into the chart.
For example: Capricorn's Associated House is the 10th House.
Associated Degrees
When a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House falls into a Zodiac Sign constellation, it will be appointed a Degree. This Degree shows how far along the Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is in a Zodiac Sign. Each Degree is also associated with a Zodiac Sign, meaning when this Degree comes up it can nuance the way the Zodiac Sign of a Planet/Asteroid/Fixed Point/House is being represented.
For example: Mars is 6° in the Zodiac Cancer, 6° represents Virgo - therefore the Cancer Mars also takes on Virgo traits. The 2nd House is 23° in the Zodiac Scorpio, 23° represents Aquarius - therefore the 2nd House in Scorpio takes on Aquarian traits.
Planetary Ruler(s)
This phrase refers to the Planet(s) that rule a Zodiac Sign. When a Planet falls into the Zodiac Sign it has rulership over, the energy of both the Planet and the Zodiac Sign is amplified.
For example: Pisces' Planetary Ruler is Neptune.
Modern / Traditional
These words are associated with two kinds of Astrology: Modern Astrology and Traditional Astrology. Traditional Astrology refers to Astrology that was practiced before the 19th century, whilst Modern Astrology refers to Astrology that is practiced now. Some people choose to practice Traditional Astrology, some people choose to practice Modern Astrology, whilst some others might practice both types or combine them together.
Element
Each Zodiac Sign/ Planet/House/Degree is associated with an Element and this covers certain traits which are unique to the Zodiac Sign/Planet/House/Degree they correspond to.
These Elements are: Fire, Air, Water and Earth.
Modality
Much like an Element, each Zodiac Sign/Planet/House/Degree is associated with a Modality. The Modality describes what the focus of a placement is and how the energy is expressed.
There are 3 different Modalities: Cardinal, Mutable and Fixed.

Where to start as a beginner (plus size) lolita (part 4)
Lolita Substyles
What are substyles?
Substyles are how lolita dresses and styles are divided. Lolita fashion is hugely diverse while also retaining the main qualities of what makes Lolita, Lolita! While there are many substyles, there are the big 3 that encompass all lolita styles you will ever see. This list is what divides each substyle by type and the defining features.
NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: Some articles of lolita pieces fall under two or more substyles and that is ok! It is up to you to educate yourself and understand which style is which! Lolita pieces can be very fluid or very strict so make sure you know what you want when you curate your wardrobe/wishlist!
~♥️~
Sweet Lolita
Tumblr media
This is (probably) the most popular and well-known substyle of lolita. If you were to think of the words "lolita fashion", this would most likely be the first thing you would visualize. Sweet Lolita is usually characterized by adorable motifs on the print such as toys, sweets and cute-looking foods, adorable-looking animals, and anything you would look at and say "awwww". The color palette typically includes pastels like pink, blue, mint, yellow, purple, etc. but can include colors like red and yellow, and brown (like chocolate).
Tumblr media
Classic Lolita
Tumblr media
This elegant style is much more mature and toned down compared to sweet. The colors are muted and the motifs include paintings, floral prints, basic patterns, buildings, historical motifs, and more! Colors include Navys, Browns, Wines, Reds, and Neutrals. This can also include other brighter muted colors like light blues, dusty pinks, and muted yellows.
Tumblr media
Gothic Lolita
Tumblr media
Gothic is a huge contrast compared to the other styles! The motifs are much darker as well as the color palette is mostly black. Motifs include crosses/religious imagery, skulls, bones, roses, and castles/ornate architecture. Other colors than black include wines/burgundy, navy, deep purples, Forest Greens, and whites.
Tumblr media
Substyles within Substyles
Some substyles fit within others but have enough pieces and originality to become their own substyle within a substyle! Pink and Sailor Lolitas are two very large substyles that can fit within one of the big 3 or multiple depending on the design! But this list is for the biggest 3 substyles that are in circulation today.
If you are trying to find your own style look up these terms to see if this style is for you! The most fun part about this is seeing all of the coords people have made and finding the dresses and styles you love!

local elderly girl sells stickers at a japanese food festival
not gonna lie, the entire experience is very emotional to me and it's been a month but moon channel's vid essay about cool japan, and the release of smt5 vengeance (lol) inspired me
Tumblr media
tldr: i made some stickers, got real existential about it, will keep making more c: if youd like to check them out, here's a link
ive always wanted to draw, i used to say i was gonna become a painter or a fashion designer when i grew up. none of that happened, but i did go to film school. my final project was a script for an animated short highly inspired by nbc hannibal, majora's mask (i know, it was 2016, it makes sense to me lol) and a huge loss in my life from which i havent fully recovered, 10 years later.
the point is, ive always been art adjacent but i never really drew, until i got inspired by_hannibal itself_, noel fielding, kylux (LOL) and a roommate who was who was really inspired by art youtubers like frannerd and drew around the house, so i picked up a pencil and started drawing hannigram fanart bc i was so insanely in love with that show lol i remember who i was before i drew. i spent my days reading and watching tv, bc i love stories and stuff, but i was a consumer. and once i got a job after college i felt so incredibly isolated and directionless. do i have a direction now, as i work as a """"designer""" for a company that sells a mental health app? no. but like demifiend was force fed a magatama and got demon powers (LMAO BEAR WITH ME I JUST BOUGHT SMT3 HD REMASTER), i caught the art demon (like steven zapata says). and i caught it bad. i spend my day to day rushing through my work and chores and everything so i can have enough time to draw in the evening, to do whatever, and sometimes the need is so immense i cant do anything bc im not good enough, my skills are fading, im worthless, what's the meaning of all this? so i took a chance and showed my work at an arts alley on a japanese food festival i was helping organize. mind you, i was juggling that with my 9/5, promoting the event, finishing drawings from years ago. and when i got there, nobody got it. people looked at the stickers and didnt recognize the characters, and went on to buy the stickers my friends had that were more current. it was all japanese fanart. we were there with the single purpose of baiting weebs like us lol
Tumblr media
ive always dealt with clients, im used to this. but im used to business to business, bc sigh i am a corporate girly. and im a beginner in the demon arts of arting. i felt so ashamed people were preferring other people, that i had the audacity to think i was worth anything. but i stood there, standing still with my brain boucing off my skull wanting to leave but also enjoying the experience and hoping someone, anyone would get it. and some people did. to my surprise, jack frost was my best selling sticker, lol. jack frost, from the smt franchise, a franchise im so new to but i love so dearly. im 100% a poser, ive never finished a megaten game. but… it just speaks to me. and thats where my cool japan feelings come from bc, like i said, i was selling at a japanese food festival. people my age, from the country i come from, were exposed to dragon ball and cardcaptor sakura from birth. and learning about history and the atrocities of the japanese empire is just. who can you trust. but ive aways resonated with one thing from japan, and it's the way they portray sadness in their works. it's become a ritual since last year that i will listen to smtv's ost when im on my period bc it literally brings me back to life. no one but i know how many times ive drawn goro majima and taiga saejima bc their mere existance and their sorrow resonates with me so immensily and i dont wanna see them being sad, nor do i wanna see me being sad. it's. it's really difficult to be to admit that im from brazil, bc our country sells happiness as an export but for many, many years the most popular genre is butthurt country music, and it makes sense, you know? people dont wanna admit they're sad. and i can only imagine what it's like for regular japanese people, bc we (i) get to see their big exports of bittersweetness… i dont know, maybe other people get to see that from brazil too, i dont know. the arts in brazil, or specially where i live, it's just isnt in the cards for us. but ill keep trying, you know. and i know fanart is a hack. but im trying. despite everything and everyone wanting us (me) to work for mining/metal/oil companies, make the most money, have the least health, drink all the alcohol (but call an uber), consume, reproduce and die, i. i just wanna draw tiny people, you know. it's. not that big a deal. all this to say that yes im gonna keep drawing and making stickers and, who knows, you know. these are stickers that i wont ever find near me, or that im too broke to get them from artists/official stores, so if youre like me, here's some pdfs in case you wanna print them and stick them wherever c: ty if you got this far, this is a big ramble… but it's been years in the making and despite everything im happy about it c:

Style Savvy Trendsetter #10 - Final Thoughts & Moving on..
[Previous Post]              [First Post]              [Next Post]
Tumblr media
So I've decided to take a hiatus from this game. So this may be my last post on 'Trendsetters', aside from my 'Final Photo Album' (TBD) Much like Fashion Forward, I plan to check back in from time to time, but I think I'm mostly done playing it for now, and will move on to Styling Star after taking a break for a few weeks.
Tumblr media
Overall this game was A LOT of fun! And I'm glad I went back to play it after Fashion Forward, rather than going straight to the third game, 'Styling Star' While I still prefer 'Fashion Forward' overall, this game still does a few things better!
Instead of Doing a straight comparison, I'll just list off a few things I think the game did really well, this will have some overlap with 'Fashion Forward', obviously. But I think it will better illustrate how I may have felt, if I played this game first.
What I really Liked... #1 - The Small Talk/Character Writing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the crazy number of characters in this game, it's crazy how much unique dialogue you'll find! And it's actually well written too! The Style Savvy world is full of fun and quirky characters! And sometimes after serving someone they'll offer to meet up later, and continue the conversation with the outfit they bought
#2 -The Linear Progression:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Design Outfits, raise the 'happiness level' , and unlock new stuff! And each of the customers even have a stamp card that fills in with each individual clothing item you sell them, So you have progression with each new customer as well! Other activities such as drinking at the cafe, following up with a customer, and even changing your own outfit, and winning fashion contests, all add to the gauge meaning most in-game actions will make you feel like you're making progress!
#3 - Fashion Contests!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from just restocking inventory, and selling clothes, At Night, you'll also be able to enter fashion contests! These have their own separate progression line, (So I HIGHLY recommend you try to do at least one every few in-game days) Each have their own style theme, And you'll pick a model, and prep her outfit, hair and makeup to best fit. They can be alot of fun to design for, you'll have access to every clothing item you've ever bought, so you'll never have to worry about restocking. There are four levels of contest, Starting with "Beginner's Contest" and ending with the most difficult “International Contest”, and you progress by getting first place multiple times in each level. But by getting 10 stars on each 'level', you can start earning money for winning those contests, however this money goes to your 'personal funds' for house stuff, makeup, and hairstyles, etc. not clothing. so it won't effect your shop economy. I'll talk more about this later, but you need to complete the 'International Contest' to complete the game. (see the credits)
#4 - Shop Management:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you play the game, more brands become available, each updating their stock daily. So it can be fun to check in each day to see what's new, each brand has a 'item of the day' that you can get on sale, and you get a free 'sample' of everything you buy, so no matter how many you buy for your customers, or if an item sells out, you'll always have one you can wear yourself! While your shop inventory is limited (increases over time) you can buy an item in bulk, and it will still only use up one slot, So if you find something you like, you may as well buy a few, if you're overstocked, you have the option to sell the clothes back, so it's fairly low risk, but does require some planning.
#5 - Dress-up/Decorating!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As expected, you can style your own character, outfit, hair makeup, color contacts and more! You can even use a photo you've taken as reference to easily, switch back to a previous outfit, or try someone else's style. But you'll also be able to decorate your apartment, flooring, furniture and more can be bought and switched out.
-------------------------------------------- What I thought could have been better: #1 - The "Guess My Style" challenges.
Tumblr media
These are the bane of my existence.. A customer will come in and ask you to pick out an outfit that "matches their style", This actually means they have one specific style you like, and you need to guess it based on what they're wearing. You then have to make an outfit that you think will fit what they're looking for. For obvious styles like 'Rock' or 'Goth', it's easy, But they may come in wearing a 'feminine' outfit that's much more on the 'cute' side. (I'm not saying these should be removed, as I'm sure some players don't find them as stressful as I do, but I wish the customers had different icons to determine that 'style challenge' they offered, so I could avoid them at times)
#2 - Limited Photo Opportunities:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For whatever reason, this game has some pretty heavy restrictions on how/when you can take pictures/screenshots. Remember, this game was on the 3ds, long before every console had a dedicated 'screenshot button', so documenting my journey though this game would have been way harder without playing on an emulator. (yes, I own the game, I'm playing from my own personally dumped rom) The only times you can take a screenshot are when you see the 'R' Button in the top right corner of the screen, (see pic 2) This means you'll have FAR more opportunities to take pictures of other characters, rather than show off your own. Walking around town, trying out a new hairstyle/make up, or even changing your outfit, all locked out, But find some NPC's at the cafe? sure, you can snap a pic! Fairly late in the game, you'll unlock the Photo Studio. This allows you to select a background, and one of four poses.
But you're then just presented with 3 fixed photos from the given pose 'style', and you have to pick one.
This really limits how you can show off your outfit, and makes full body shots impossible.
#3 - Contest feedback/Progression:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I did enjoy the fashion contents overall, they don't really feel like they have much in the way of meaningful progression. Each difficulty bracket does make it harder to pass, but you're given the same prompts as ever, "Make a cute outfit" for example. So you make an outfit you think looks really cute, and you end up getting second place? The only feedback the game gives you is pretty much "do better" or "try again" Without any metrics for what you did wrong, or what's expected in this higher bracket, it really feels random. I've read online, that once you're out of 'beginner', you have to not just match the theme, but also make sure you add 'just enough' to your outfit, (layer/accessories) not too much, but not too little. And since you don't get any cash for this, getting anything other than first place is pretty much a waste of time. The game dose not provide the tools to help you improve, and the best reward you can expect is a single clothing item, and a little bit of progress towards the next 'level up' I think a better increase in difficulty would come from asking more of the player, such as "Make a gothic outfit in purple and black", "or style using one of these items", or really anything would help increase the difficulty of later contests, while making them interesting. And instead of hiding the rules dose not really add to the experience either, if they instead used this as a way to teach basic color theory, or style blending, etc, it would have been more fun, and instructive at the same time! -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Speaking of 'levels' in the Fashion contest, unlike with leveling up your shop, there's no clear way to track your progress to unlock the next fashion contest. At first I thought it was 'collect 10 stars', but nope, I unlocked the second after just 8. then for the second level 'Permeir' I managed to get all 10 starts, and the third level still did not unlock. I asked on discord and supposedly you unlock they next level by getting first place with every single 'theme' (gothic, bold, girly etc) in a specific level of contest, but there's no way to track that, and the themes are random, so after 2+ hours of purely grinding the 'premier' fashion contest, I pretty much just gave up on it. (yes, I even tried filling the happyness jar multiple times)
---------------------------- Final Words On This Game/Why I stopped -------------------------------
I had a lot of fun with my time in 'Style Savvy: Trendsetters' and I'd still recommend it to any style savvy fan! But I just feel it does not have enough left to keep my attention. This game is laser focused on the shop management aspects, and as fun and important as the contests are, they kind of feel like an afterthought to pad out the game length. And when the game already only really has a few activities you can do, and a limited number of characters to interact with (outside the shop) It kinda makes the game world feel small, some people may enjoy the strict routine, but it's not really for me With men's fashion being extremely limited, I can see why they removed it.
I've unlocked all the brands, and I'm not really seeing anything fun pop up in the store other than re-colors All my new unlocks seem to just be inventory upgrades, makeup sets, and backgrounds for my shop and photo mode and I just don't really feel like I have anything else to look forward to other than grinding contests until I reach the credits. Again, none of this means the game is 'bad' by any means, just not really something I'll be sticking with. I can still see why people love this game, the progression is MUCH clearer than Fashion Forward, but sadly Trendsetters will not dethrone the game in my heart. ---- But anyway, Thanks for reading! I had a lot of fun making this, so I hope you had fun reading it as well. [Next Post] As always, all comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome!
You literally can't bother me, (unless you go out of your way to be a jerk), so post whatever you want to say! ---- Edit (05/30): Turns out the 'Elite Contest' has an addtinal unlock condition. The game and main wiki dont mention this, but you need to both complete all the fasion catagories, and the next shop event. "Style the soap opera actors". So now I have a path forward, But as this is a multi-day event, that's a little hard to track, i'll work on this later. thanks "trendsetters info" for the clarification.

Ooh so many questions to answer, thank you!!
5. What lolita staple do you hate? Maybe not quite the answer this question was aimed for, but I dislike the fact wigs have become a staple of the fashion. Wigs aren't inherently bad of course, and apparently this isn't so strictly enforced these days like it used to be, but I still very much oppose the idea that wigs are a necessity for the fashion.
6. How has the way you wear lolita changed since you've been in the fashion? As a beginner in the late 00s, I used to wear quite a lot of thrifted/off brand pieces, and I actually tried to match my garment colors. While I do aim for some cohesion in my coords today, I prefer harmonizing colors to matching colors, and I play around with layers more.
Tumblr media
Not the best example for how I color coordinate, since all of these coords are black and white, but it's still a good example of my style evolution over the years. More answers under the cut ✂
7. What inspired you to join the fashion? Mainly the fact it looked so different to me at the time. As a teenager, I was mostly exposed to "dark" alternative subcultures (goth, punk, emo, scene, etc.); lolita fashion was my first glimpse at Japanese alternative fashion and it basically changed my idea of what alt fashion could look like, so I was very eager to try it myself.
9. How does your day to day style compare to your lolita style? This is a funny one because I kind of... don't really have a style outside of lolita. I do wear other things, namely my sleeping clothes (chronic illness life), but when it comes to going outside and looking presentable, I only wear my frills.
11. What is your lolita pet peeve? Unsure if this counts, but I have to wince sometimes when I see people in the community engage way too much with non-lolitas who are clearly baiting for a reaction or otherwise not here to engage in good faith. This mostly happens on other platforms (Twitter for sure, possibly also Tiktok?), and I do completely empathize with people who want to explain what our fashion is about and defend it, but sometimes it's best to just leave people to their ignorance and not have endless arguments that go nowhere.
13. What is something about previous eras of lolita fashion that you're glad we left behind? Aside from the "wigs are a must" thing that I mentioned above, I'm glad that replicas (or more accurately, knockoffs) aren't so widely accepted in the community anymore. This isn't to belittle people who can't afford brand of course, but there are many many affordable options that aren't low quality knockoffs of brand designs, and we shouldn't embrace dodgy practices that ultimately hurt our subculture. I hope that's not a hot take in the current year, lol

I'm not sure if any of my followers will care about this, but I need to get it off my chest so I'm going to talk about it anyway.
I heard that Totally Spies season 7 is going to be a soft reboot & it has me thinking about how I would rewrite the series if I could. Mostly minor things, & I've only got rewrites for their college years so far. I would have the Mali-U mascot not become a can of dolphin-safe tuna, & the fashion teacher wouldn't be a complete nutjob who idolizes avant-garde fashion & torn clothing & can actually remember his students names. But, there is one episode where I would rewrite the whole thing if I could. And that is the episode titled "Inferior Designer".
Some important background info: in the first episode of this season, Sam & Alex are seen picking electives for college, only for Clover to rush in & excitedly announce that she signed them all up for Fashion Design class. (This is going to come up in a post where I question why they're still friends with her, but that is going to take much longer to write.) Sam & Alex are naturally upset that Clover signed them up for something without even asking, again, but agree to try it anyway. When they actually have their first Fashion Design class, the teacher, professor Plunkett, hates Clover's designs & can't get any of the girls' names right. During the mission of that episode, Clover's spy outfit gets torn until it's basically a torn crop top & shorts. Professor Plunkett loves it for being bold & daring & edgy. Now, onto the episode in question!
"Inferior Designer" takes place the week of the girls' Fashion Design midterms. (I guess Sam & Alex stayed in the class. The teacher liked them right off so I don't blame them.) Sam & Alex are seen working on machines while Clover falls off her stool & onto the floor tangled in thread. Clover whines about how she can't get her "fashion groove" on, with Mandy taking the opportunity to mock a skirt Clover made in the past. Clover gets untangled to tell Mandy that she's not in the mood to deal with her, but Professor Plunkett comes over & agrees with Mandy's critique & also lets Clover know he doesn't like the dress she's working on. He also takes the opportunity to tell Clover that if she wants to pass the course then she's going to have to do way better on the midterm. (Note: not ace the course, pass it. CLOVER is at risk of FAILING at FASHION DESIGN class.) Professor Plunkett then reminds everyone in class that the midterm will be a runway featuring everyone's best designs & that he only gives out one 'A'. Now, the first issue I have with this episode:
Mandy taunts Clover about the midterm essentially being a competition & how Clover is basically a fashion disaster. Clover gets mad & then there's a brief moment of this scene:
Tumblr media
Are the show's animators aware that sewing machine bottoms are attached? I'm a former fashion student myself, & I've never seen one that didn't have an attached bottom. They're very important because that's where the bobbin goes. The bobbin also has thread in it so that there will be stitching on both the top & bottom of the fabric. It is impossible to sew together two pieces of fabric in a sturdy manner without the under-stitching provided by the bobbin. At least, not in any way that would be taught in a beginner-level class. I know this is just meant to be a scene from Clover's imagination, but as a patron of all fiber crafts, it irks me when the tools are not portrayed properly. Especially a tool almost everyone must have seen at least once in their lifetime. Now, onto the rest of the plot:
The girls have to investigate a series kidnappings: several of the world's top interior designers have gone missing. One of them was last seen at the Taj Mahal, so they go there. They get inside & find that the place has been redecorated, horribly. They get attacked by hideous carpet. A fiber sample from it leads them to an interior designer, named Maggie Trendset, whose design taste is so horrible that no one would hire her, so she decided to force her vision on the world. They stop her & get back to school in time to finish their midterm projects. Now, onto my biggest problem with this episode:
Unfortunately, Clover finally found inspiration for her midterm! In Maggie Trendset's designs.
Tumblr media
She is dragging a beanbag chair, her pants & boots are covered in fur, her shirt is so bad I'm having trouble describing how bad it is, & her hat is a lamp. Not an exaggeration, Clover got tangled in a lamp just like that while fighting Maggie. Now, my problem isn't just Clover's outfit, but that Professor Plunkett gave her an 'A' for it. I would've given it to Mandy, or Sam, or even Alex. Here's why:
Tumblr media
(Not pictured: single pink glove on her left hand) Mandy's design is simple yet trendy, it's coordinated, it's cute, it's bold & edgy, & it's something people might actually wear if they want to be told they have good taste. Also, you can easily mix the pieces of this outfit with other outfits for entirely different looks. This is an outfit that actually deserves an 'A'.
Tumblr media
Sam & Alex's outfits are simple yet cute & are something people might actually wear every day. I'd give them both 'B's.
Overall, my point is that it seems like anyone in the series would be better at fashion design than Clover & I would like to see that be brought up in the series. Now, my rewrite:
The episode happens as normal, until the midterm runway. Clover is confident that Plunkett will like her avant-garde design, only for him to dramatically proclaim that it hurts his eyes & Clover fails. Sam & Alex do their runway walks & are both awarded 'B's. Mandy is awarded the only 'A'. Clover runs off crying.
The next episode originally had Clover trying out a new style called 'Pirate chic' at the beginning. She still does that in my rewrite, but only because she's naturally obsessed with the latest trends & is hoping to convince Professor Plunkett that she belongs in the fashion design class. Sam & Alex comfort her & remind her that just because she can't make clothes doesn't mean she's not still super fashionable. Besides, she'll find something she's incredible at. She's Clover, she can do anything. They then get called to accompany Jerry aboard the WOOHP-tanic for a gadget presentation & Clover is excited to try out her pirate chic outfit. Then the episode continues as normal, but with Clover contemplating other potential majors throughout.
Whew, that was a long post. Thanks to anyone who actually read the whole thing, & sorry about the post being so long. I'm just very passionate about the subject. It takes a lot more than being good at admiring & criticizing fashion to be good at making it. Thanks for reading, & please be polite & respectful if you feel the need to tell me what you think.

What Makes Iron on Transfers Ideal for Custom T-Shirts?
Tumblr media
Do you ever wonder why some customized t-shirts look so great while others fade easily after some wash? The answer lies in the manufacturing process. We will now find out why this transfer by size of custom t-shirts, excluding other customization methods, becomes the favorite of most.
Easy to Use
Another major feature of iron-on transfers is their incredibly easy application. You don't have to break the bank on equipment or be some genius to affix them. A plain, blank T-shirt can be transformed into a work of art using only an iron and a flat surface. This makes it simple for both the beginner crafter and the elder crafter.
It's very simple: choose your design, print it on transfer paper, cut it out, and apply it to your T-shirt. Add a little heat with an iron, then tear off the backing. And you'll have a one-of-a-kind garment in minutes. Such simplicity allows for a fast production shirt or a dozen.
Versatility in Design
Iron-on transfers offer almost limitless design options. You can transfer any design onto your T-shirt, from photos to text, intricate patterns to bold graphics. This versatility makes them ideal for various purposes. You can create custom team uniforms, design promotional shirts for events, make personalized gifts, or craft unique fashion statements.
The full color is available to use with iron-on transfers, which differentiates them from other techniques. You do not need to restrict your designs to only one simple color or shape. Complex, multi-coloured designs transfer as smoothly as simple ones. In this way you can create even the most complex ideas on fabric.
Durability and Quality
Unlike most people, iron-on transfers for t-shirts are well made if used correctly. They can be washed over and over again and do not fade or peel. The trick is to use the proper kind of transfer for your fabric, thereby building it up to last, depending on its thickness, and you simply must carefully follow all application directions.
To achieve the best result, choose according to the type of transfer your fabric type has. Blends and cotton work great with most transfers, but synthetic fabrics may require some special type. Proper heat and pressure application would make transfers create long-lasting bonds to the fabric; it will, therefore, have designs to stay vivid and wash after wash.
Flexibility in Production
One of the major advantages of iron-on transfers is the ability to produce shirts on demand. Unlike screen printing, which often requires minimum order quantities, you can easily create just one shirt or a hundred.
This flexibility is perfect for testing new designs before committing to large production runs. It also allows you to create personalized items for special events or offer a wide range of designs without holding extensive inventory.
For those looking to produce multiple designs efficiently, gang sheets offer an intelligent solution. These allow you to print several designs on a single sheet, reducing waste and speeding up production. This method is beneficial for creating sets of related designs or when working on bulk orders. It's a time-saving technique that can significantly increase your productivity.
Final Words
Iron on transfers offer a compelling blend of ease, versatility, and cost-effectiveness for custom T-shirt creation. From their simple application process to the wide range of design possibilities, they provide a practical solution for personal and small-scale commercial use.
Whether you're looking to start a T-shirt business, create unique gifts, or express your creativity through fashion, iron-on transfers give you the tools to bring your ideas to life. Dive into the world of custom T-shirts and discover how iron-on transfers can transform your plain tees into wearable art.

Explore Creative Arts with Tufting, Embroidery, Handmade Rugs, and Korean Fashion
For those seeking hands-on experience in creative arts, workshops focusing on 簇绒 (tufting), 戳戳绣 (punch needle embroidery), 手工地毯 (handmade rugs), and 韓國服裝 (Korean fashion) offer unique opportunities to dive into a world of design, craftsmanship, and style. These classes are ideal for beginners and advanced crafters alike, providing skills, inspiration, and a chance to explore traditional and modern art forms.
簇绒 (tufting) has become incredibly popular in recent years as more people discover the joy of creating textured art pieces, from wall hangings to custom rugs. In tufting workshops, participants use a tufting gun to create designs, selecting colors and patterns that reflect their personal style. This contemporary craft is accessible, and the tactile nature of tufting makes it an enjoyable, stress-relieving activity that results in a one-of-a-kind artwork for any space.
戳戳绣 (punch needle embroidery) is another popular craft that combines tradition with a modern twist. Unlike typical embroidery, punch needle allows crafters to build textured, three-dimensional designs that give a new dimension to textile art. With expert guidance, students learn to create beautiful, textured patterns on fabric, adding warmth and personality to each piece. This craft, with roots in ancient embroidery techniques, is both meditative and satisfying, appealing to those who love intricate detail in their work.
For those interested in larger projects, 手工地毯 (handmade rugs) classes offer an in-depth experience with textile arts. Participants learn how to create a rug from scratch, whether through weaving or tufting techniques. Handmade rugs are a timeless home accessory that showcase the creator’s skill and style, making them a truly personal statement piece. Creating a handmade rug is a rewarding process that combines patience, creativity, and craftsmanship, resulting in a functional piece of art that can be enjoyed for years.
In addition to textile arts, workshops on 韓國服裝 (Korean fashion) offer insights into the vibrant world of Korean style. Korean fashion is celebrated for its unique blend of minimalism, elegance, and trendsetting looks that appeal to all ages. In these classes, participants explore current Korean fashion trends, learning about design principles, fabric choices, and styling techniques that capture the essence of Korean culture. This exploration allows fashion enthusiasts to apply Korean fashion elements to their own wardrobe, combining creativity with cultural appreciation.
Each of these workshops offers not only a chance to learn but also an environment where participants can relax, socialize, and enjoy a creative break from everyday life. Engaging in 簇绒 or 戳戳绣 encourages personal expression and helps participants develop valuable artistic skills. Working on a 手工地毯 or learning about 韓國服裝 introduces them to crafts that go beyond art—they become part of a cultural journey that enriches the experience.
By joining these workshops, students walk away with more than just a completed project. They gain skills, confidence, and an appreciation for traditional and modern crafts. Whether tufting a wall hanging, punching a unique embroidery design, weaving a rug, or exploring Korean fashion, each participant finds a new way to express their creativity and connect with the artistic community.

How to Start a Successful Web Blogging Website: A Beginner’s Guide
With the growing presence of digital media, creating a blog has become an effective way to share ideas, build communities, and even make an income.
Whether you're an aspiring writer, a small business, or just someone with a passion for a specific topic, starting a web blogging website can be a rewarding endeavor.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to kick-start your blogging journey.
1. Identify Your Niche
The first step in launching a successful blog is to define your niche. A niche helps you focus your content and attracts a specific audience.
Think about topics you’re passionate about and knowledgeable in—whether it’s travel, food, technology, fashion, or personal finance. Identifying your niche early on will help you build a loyal following, as readers tend to stick around when they know what to expect from your blog.
2. Choose the Right Platform
There are several blogging platforms to choose from, each with its own advantages. For beginners, WordPress and Wix are popular options. WordPress offers extensive customization and flexibility, while Wix provides a more user-friendly drag-and-drop interface.
Research each platform and decide based on your needs, technical skills, and budget.
Most platforms offer free plans, but a paid plan might be more beneficial if you want advanced features or more control over your website’s design.
3. Select a Domain Name and Hosting Service
Your domain name is your blog’s address on the internet, so choose one that is easy to remember, relevant to your niche, and reflects your brand.
After deciding on a domain, you’ll need a reliable hosting provider. Popular options include Bluehost, SiteGround, and HostGator, all of which offer affordable hosting plans tailored to new bloggers.
Many providers also include a free domain registration with their packages, so it’s worth exploring.
4. Design Your Blog
Creating a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate website is crucial to retaining visitors. Most blogging platforms provide customizable themes or templates that can make your blog stand out.
Opt for a clean, simple design with a focus on readability. Avoid clutter and unnecessary elements that may distract users from the main content.
5. Plan and Create Quality Content
High-quality content is the backbone of any successful blog. Create an editorial calendar to plan your posts and ensure a consistent publishing schedule. Focus on producing original, informative, and engaging content that provides value to your readers.
Incorporating SEO (Search Engine Optimization) practices into your writing, such as using keywords, improving readability, and creating internal links, can also help boost your blog’s visibility on search engines.
6. Promote Your Blog
Simply publishing content isn’t enough; promoting it is equally important.
Share your posts on social media platforms, engage with your readers in the comments section, and collaborate with other bloggers to expand your reach. Consider using email marketing to connect with your readers directly and keep them informed about new content and updates.
7. Monetize Your Blog
Once you have a steady readership, there are various ways to monetize your blog, such as affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and ad placements. To attract advertisers, it’s important to build a high level of trust and engagement with your audience.
Conclusion
Starting a web blogging website requires planning, creativity, and patience, but the results can be highly rewarding. By following these steps and consistently producing valuable content, you can build a successful blog that resonates with readers and grows over time.

The Latest Trends in Exclusive Ethnic Wear for the Modern Woman
Ethnic wear has always been a timeless symbol of cultural heritage and elegance. But today, it’s evolving to meet the demands of the modern woman, blending tradition with contemporary trends. Whether for festivals, weddings, or everyday wear, exclusive collections of women’s wear now reflect a fusion of the past and present, offering something for everyone. In this beginner’s guide, we’ll explore the latest trends in ethnic wear for women and how you can incorporate them into your wardrobe.
Tumblr media
1. The Revival of Handloom Fabrics in Exclusive Collections
Handloom fabrics have always been a cornerstone of traditional Indian fashion, but they are now making a stylish comeback in exclusive collections of women’s wear. These fabrics are celebrated for their sustainability, unique textures, and artisanal craftsmanship.
Why Handloom is Gaining Popularity
As more people become aware of the importance of sustainability, handloom fabrics have gained recognition for their eco-friendly production methods. The shift toward supporting local artisans and handcrafted textiles aligns with the growing global trend of slow fashion. Handloom clothing is not mass-produced, making each piece unique and exclusive.
Designers Promoting Handloom in Exclusive Collections
Top designers such as Anavila and Raw Mango have embraced handloom in their collections, transforming simple fabrics into luxurious garments. Their collections include sarees, kurtas, and fusion pieces that combine tradition with a modern twist, making handloom fabrics accessible to the modern woman.
How to Incorporate Handloom into Your Wardrobe
If you're new to handloom, start with a versatile saree or kurti. Pair a handloom saree with a modern blouse or layer a simple kurti with a jacket for a chic, contemporary look. These pieces are perfect for both casual and formal occasions, ensuring that your ethnic wardrobe stays stylish and sustainable.
2. Experimenting with Fusion Silhouettes
Fusion fashion is one of the most exciting trends in ethnic wear for women. It seamlessly blends traditional elements with modern cuts and silhouettes, making it perfect for today’s fashion-forward woman.
Popular Fusion Pieces
Fusion pieces such as saree gowns, dhoti pants, and kurtis paired with Western jackets are at the forefront of this trend. These outfits allow you to combine the elegance of ethnic wear with the comfort and practicality of contemporary styles. For example, a saree gown offers the grace of a saree with the ease of wearing a one-piece outfit, while dhoti pants provide a traditional yet relaxed alternative to Western trousers.
Fusion Wear for Casual and Formal Occasions
One of the reasons fusion fashion has gained so much popularity is its versatility. You can wear fusion pieces for both casual outings and formal events. Pair a traditional kurti with denim jeans for a day out, or opt for a saree with a modern cape blouse for a wedding reception. Fusion fashion allows you to be creative and bold, experimenting with new ways to wear ethnic pieces.
Celebrity and Runway Inspirations
Celebrities such as Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have popularized fusion fashion, often seen mixing ethnic and Western elements on red carpets and in everyday wear. Designers like Manish Malhotra and Masaba Gupta have also embraced fusion fashion in their collections, offering exclusive collections of women’s wear that cater to women looking for a fresh take on tradition.
3. Minimalist Ethnic Wear: Simplicity Meets Elegance
In recent years, minimalist fashion has become a major trend in ethnic wear, offering a refreshing alternative to heavily embellished outfits. Modern women are now leaning toward clean cuts, subtle details, and understated elegance.
The Rise of Minimalism in Exclusive Ethnic Collections
Minimalist ethnic wear is all about “less is more.” It focuses on simple designs with refined details, such as light embroidery, monochromatic palettes, and fluid silhouettes. Designers like Payal Khandwala and Eka have led the way in creating exclusive collections of women’s wear that emphasize simplicity without compromising on style.
How to Style Minimalist Ethnic Outfits
Minimalist ethnic outfits are incredibly versatile. You can wear a simple, solid-colored anarkali for a casual day out or opt for a lightly embellished saree for a more formal occasion. The key is to focus on high-quality fabrics and minimalistic designs. To elevate your look, you can add statement accessories like bold earrings or a sleek clutch to keep it modern yet elegant.
Minimalist Looks for Festivals and Weddings
While minimalism may not be the first thing you think of for festivals or weddings, it can work beautifully. A solid silk saree with delicate detailing can be just as impactful as a heavily embellished one. Pair it with a statement blouse or some bold jewelry to keep the look festive yet understated.
4. The Statement Blouse: A Modern Twist on a Classic
Blouses have traditionally been a supporting element of the saree, but today they are taking center stage. The statement blouse has become a key trend in ethnic wear for women, offering a modern twist on a classic.
How Statement Blouses Are Transforming Traditional Outfits
Statement blouses feature unique designs that draw attention, whether through intricate embroidery, bold cuts, or unconventional fabrics. Off-shoulder blouses, capes, and backless designs are just a few examples of how this trend is revolutionizing ethnic fashion. By experimenting with blouse designs, you can transform a traditional saree or lehenga into a modern masterpiece.
Different Styles of Statement Blouses
There’s no shortage of options when it comes to statement blouses. From capes that add a dramatic flair to off-shoulder designs that give a modern touch, these blouses allow you to experiment with your look. You can pair a heavily embroidered blouse with a simple saree for contrast or wear a contemporary blouse with a lehenga to create a balanced fusion of traditional and modern styles.
5. Bold Colors and Prints: Moving Beyond Tradition
While ethnic wear has traditionally been associated with reds, golds, and other jewel tones, modern trends are pushing the boundaries with bolder, more vibrant colors and prints.
Trending Colors in Ethnic Wear
From pastels to neon shades, the color palette in exclusive collections of women’s wear is broader than ever. Pastel hues are ideal for daytime events, offering a soft, elegant look, while neon shades bring a playful, youthful energy to your outfit. Bold jewel tones like emerald green and sapphire blue also remain popular, but they’re now being paired with unconventional fabrics and cuts.
Ethnic Wear Featuring Bold Prints
Prints have also evolved in ethnic wear, moving beyond the traditional florals and paisleys to include geometric, abstract, and even quirky prints. Bold prints make a statement while allowing for easy styling. Whether it’s a saree with geometric patterns or a kurti with an abstract print, bold designs give you the opportunity to express your individuality.
Styling Bold Ethnic Outfits
When wearing bold colors or prints, balance is key. If you’re wearing a bright, neon saree, opt for a neutral blouse to tone down the look. Conversely, if you’re wearing a bold print, keep your accessories simple to let the outfit speak for itself. Bold ethnic outfits are perfect for both day and evening events, offering a refreshing take on traditional wear.
6. Sustainability in Exclusive Ethnic Wear
Sustainability is more than just a trend; it’s becoming a cornerstone of modern fashion. Today, more designers are focusing on creating exclusive collections of women’s wear that are not only stylish but also environmentally friendly.
Eco-Friendly Fabrics and Sustainable Practices
The demand for sustainable fashion has encouraged designers to use eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, bamboo, and recycled fabrics in their collections. Additionally, many brands are adopting fair-trade practices, ensuring that artisans are paid fairly for their work.
Designers Leading the Way in Sustainable Ethnic Fashion
Designers such as Anita Dongre and Ritu Kumar are pioneering sustainable practices in ethnic fashion. Their collections use eco-friendly fabrics and traditional techniques that support local artisans. By choosing sustainable ethnic wear, you not only stay stylish but also contribute to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and the environment.
Why Modern Women are Choosing Sustainable Fashion
Sustainability in fashion is about more than just trends—it’s a lifestyle choice. Modern women are becoming more conscious of the impact their fashion choices have on the environment. Sustainable ethnic wear offers a way to enjoy traditional clothing while being mindful of the planet.
Conclusion: Redefining Tradition for the Modern Woman
Ethnic wear has come a long way, adapting to the modern woman’s lifestyle while staying true to its roots. The latest trends in exclusive collections of women’s wear showcase the perfect blend of tradition and innovation, offering endless possibilities for creative self-expression. Whether you're drawn to handloom fabrics, fusion silhouettes, minimalist designs, or bold prints, today’s ethnic fashion is all about embracing versatility and individuality. So go ahead—experiment with these trends and redefine tradition in your unique way!
