Here's how Trump's vengeance machine works
He's the mob boss who keeps his hands clean while others do his dirty work.
ROBERT REICH
JAN 24
Friends,
Sorry to intrude on you again today, but now that we have come to the end of the first week of Trump II, there’s much to say about the new regime.
For one thing, Trump’s vengeance machine is even more dangerous than it was before.
The Biden administration had given security protection to Trump’s former secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, his former top aide, Brian Hook, and Trump’s former national security advisor, John Bolton. That was because of credible intelligence showing all three in danger of being killed by agents of Iran. During the first Trump administration, they had authorized the drone strike that killed the powerful Iranian general Oassim Suleimani in early 2020, and Iran is out to get them.
The outgoing Biden administration privately told the incoming Trump administration that the threat against the three continued. “As recently as the end of last week, two separate government representatives, two separate government agencies called,” Bolton told The New York Times. “They said our current assessment is that the threat level remains the same.”
But on Tuesday, with no explanation, Tump revoked their security protection. They are now at the mercy of Iranian agents in America.
What had they done to deserve this treatment by Trump? They had committed the sin (in Trump’s mind) of being more loyal to America than to him.
Pompeo had warned Republicans at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2023 not to look to "celebrity leaders" with "fragile egos. Hook was part of the old Republican foreign-policy establishment (Trump fired Hook on Monday). Bolton had become an outspoken critic Trump.
If you think Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, will protect them from violence, think again. All three are on Patel’s enemies list, which is basically Trump’s enemies list. (I’ll have more to say about Patel next week when he’s up for senate hearings.)
This is how the Trump vengeance machine works. Trump is the mob boss who keeps his hands clean while others do his dirty work.
Who else is likely to do Trump’s dirty work?
Trump has pardoned all the men who attacked the U.S. Capitol on his behalf on January 6, 2021. Trump says they were not violent and did not have weapons — but the world saw their violence; they were also caught on video. Nearly 175 used dangerous or deadly weapons, according to prosecutors.
They also threw Nazi salutes, posted they intended to start a civil war, vowed “there will be blood,” and called for the lynching of Democratic lawmakers.
They attacked police with flag poles, bear spray, and a metal whip. They choked officers with their bare hands. They were convicted for, among other things, “hurling officers down a flight of stairs and plotting to kill FBI agents investigating the attacks.”
A video shows them attacking Officer Michael Fanone, who suffered a heart attack and traumatic brain injury that day. Later he and his family received death threats after he testified in Congress on the incident. They beat Police Officer Daniel Hodges and crushed him in a door, his mouth filled with blood while he cried out for help.
Now, courtesy of Trump, all these thugs are back on the street. Does anyone really think they will live out the rest of their lives peacefully?
Some of the police officers, including those who testified in January 6 cases, have said they fear for their safety now that the insurrectionists have been released.
“I JUST GOT THE NEWS FROM MY LAWYER… I GOT A PARDON BABY! THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!” Jacob Chansley, dubbed the QAnon shaman as a reflection of his horned-animal headdress and body paint that day, posted on X. “NOW I AM GONNA BY SOME MOTHA FU*KIN GUNS!!! I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!”
Jackson Reffitt, who reported his father Guy’s participation in the January 6 riot and was a key witness against him, told reporters he fears for his life now that his father is free.
When Stewart Rhodes, leader of the Oath Keepers, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in the riot, the judge said: “You are smart, you are charismatic and compelling and frankly that’s what makes you dangerous. The moment you are released, whenever that may be, you will be ready to take up arms against your government.” And, presumably, arms against Trump’s enemies.
How many nut-jobs does it take to physically attack someone whom Trump has deemed an enemy? Just ask Paul Pelosi.
Trump doesn’t deliver violence himself. He just says awful things about a person who has crossed him, like Nancy Pelosi, knowing this will be enough to trigger threats or actual violence by one of his followers.
Ask the judges and prosecutors who have tried to hold him responsible.
It doesn’t matter if the awful things Trump says about them are outright lies. In 2018, Trump tweeted a video of Rep. Ilhan Omar that falsely claimed she was dancing on the anniversary of 9/11. She received death threats.
Trump directs his mob with winks and nods. “You had some very fine people on both sides,” he says, reassuring violent bigots where his sympathies lie.
“Stand back and stand by,” he says, teeing up the thugs, and then: "Big protest in D.C. on January 6th Be there, will be wild!"
His henchman Elon Musk gives a Nazi salute and then denies that’s what he meant, but the neo-Nazis get the message.
Trump’s vengeance machine isn’t only about retribution. It’s also intended to intimidate Trump critics — force them to think twice before sounding any alarms, and chill public knowledge or debate about what Trump is doing.
Be warned. Be safe. And to the extent you can, protect people Trump slams.

Two of your mentally ill cult members nearly assassinated President Trump twice so you best believe I will be on your accounts especially that Bitchy-Peachy cunt which is ironic given her name. President Trump is a man who didn't even need to spend his golden years in the oval office yet for the last ten years he has spent his time trying to help and save this country only for idiots like you two to shit on him every chance he gets. He tries to give so much yet you two are too stupid to appreciate what he's done. Making fun of his diapers and his family is pretty fucking low don't you think? Well don't you worry once Ramaswamy ensues that Mental Institutions are back I will do everything I can to make sure you two are sharing a padded room together if not a prison cell altogether.
I love how the last month has shown the world just how evil you Democrats are. Look at all the people the Democrats have thrown out; Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr, Elon Musk (whom might I add is a billionaire yet is doing everything to weed out the fraud and corruption of the government) and President Trump yet you all fucked them off.
I look forward to President Trump's revenge tour and best believe Kash Patel will be cleaning out the deep state and scrubbing anyone standing in the way of America's Golden Age.
Haha @bitchy-peachy get a load of this! 🤣
I'd LOVE if we were cell mates! THIS would be us! 😂
youtube
But be grateful for everything he's done?
Because of him we lost Roe v Wade protections, got rid of DEI protections which affected HIS followers more than anyone else, THOUSANDS of jobs were lost (in his FIRST MONTH ALONE), Affirmative Action was lost and most damning of all; America's reputation across the world is CRIPPLED and Americans are treated with mistrust GLOBALLY. Oh and he's sucking off WORLD DICTATORS. It sure is funny he calls Zelensky a "Dictator without elections" yet he said we'd never have to worry about voting again and he would be a dictator on day one. If his old ass never came down that elevator, not only would we advance in human rights but Americans as a whole would be WAY better off.
Also considering he HIMSELF made fun of former President Biden's diapers.....what goes around comes around.
And let's go through your list of "victims":
Tulsi Gabbard-Certified Russian Asset that's on a NO FLY LIST.
RFK Jr-A serial cheater that kept a journal of people he cheated on his wife with that was so detrimental to her mental health she committed SUICIDE. Also he's a heroin addict that got EIGHTY PLUS children killed in Samoa due to his Anti-Vax bullshit. Let's also not forget he makes it a habit of killing animals and he wants to get rid of ADHD meds along with Anti-Depressants and Adderalls and said he wants to "re-parent" black children.
Elon Musk-A deadbeat dad with THIRTEEN CHILDREN who's a Ketamine addict who has FUCKED with people's PERSONAL INFORMATION and PRIVATE DATA.
Donald Trump-A serial cheater, rapist convicted with 34 counts of fraud who mismanaged COVID, has caused over NINE plan crashes in the span of a MONTH.
Yeah the Democrats were right in telling all of them to fuck off.
And how will this "revenge tour" help lower costs in the economy, help small businesses flourish or help people who want to buy a home?

Cabinet Nominee Senate Hearing Action Items: Week of 1/27/25 - 1/31/25
Please contact your senators and ask them to reject dangerous and unqualified cabinet picks. I don't have a lot of hope at this point, but better to fight than roll belly up. If nothing else ask them to resist Pam Bondi, RFK Jr., Russel Vought, Tulsi Gabbard, and Kash Patel.
Usually they just log for or against. If they want a reason, I've listed some below. Use reason for Democrats. For Republicans: Stress military readiness, national security, and the integrity and morale of the military, law and order, etc..
All of these are terrible. Complain about whatever you have energy for (most important in red):
WEDNESDAY:
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Heath and Human Services. He murdered hundreds of children in Samoa and plans to scale that up in the US, buy completely outlawing vaccines and dismantling our entire infectious desease response infrastructure. I beg of you, fight this one. Plenty of Republicans are old enough to remember how bad polio was. McConnell is a polio survivor. We have a chance here. Push hard.
"How would RFK Jr. handle bird flu? His record on vaccines has experts on edge:" https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2025/01/16/nx-s1-5254733/rfk-vaccine-bird-flu-trump-cabinet-picks
(RFK Jr, has a second hearing later in the week.)
Kelly Loeffler, Small Business Administration nominee, is wildly corrupt.
This is from December, but I'm putting it up as a refresher:
"Kelly Loeffler’s Conflict of Interest Is Even Worse Than Reported: The senator had power over regulators whose work directly affected her own financial interests.:" https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/12/kelly-loefflers-conflict-of-interest-is-even-worse-than-reported/
THURSDAY:
Kash Patel, FBI. He published an enemies list and has promised to purge all the honest people with ethics out of the FBI, replacing them with Trump loyalists, so he can weaponize the FBI to persecute anyone Trump doesn't like. No innocent person will be safe.
Tulsi Gabbard, Office of the Director of National Intelligence. She is in the bag for Russia and has ties to Bashar al-Assad. She is generally considered a major intelligence threat. None of our secret intelligence or that of any allies foolish enough to share information with us will be safe. I beg of you fight this one.
Files detail bid to contain fallout from Tulsi Gabbard meetings with Assad

We all knew that Trump’s Cabinet picks would be unqualified at best and dangers to our democracy and national security at worst. Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, is unfortunately both of these things.
No matter what Trump might have you believe, Patel’s confirmation is not inevitable. It’s up to us to push back today. Send an email to your senators urging them to vote no on Kash Patel.
How is Kash Patel unfit to be FBI Director? Let’s count the ways:
Patel has openly stated he'd use the FBI to target Trump's perceived enemies—including members of Congress, journalists, and law enforcement officials—instead of focusing on protecting Americans and upholding the rule of law.
In 2020, he endangered lives and nearly derailed a high-stakes mission to rescue a 27-year-old American Navy SEAL held captive in Nigeria by falsely claiming to have secured approval from the Nigerian government.
Patel has absolutely no senior law enforcement experience and has never held a Senate-confirmed position. Multiple Trump administration officials who worked closest with Patel say he is “profoundly unqualified” to lead the FBI.
Patel's record proves he is unfit to lead the FBI, one of America's most critical law enforcement agencies. Even those staunchly in Camp Trump think Patel isn’t up for the job!
The bottom line: Someone this obviously dangerous and inexperienced shouldn’t be confirmed. Tell your senators to reject his nomination for the office of FBI Director.

President Dragon wants more gold, by Tom Scocca https://www.indignity.net/president-dragon-wants-more-gold/ Pratchett's slapstick British satire is not the stuff that somber dragons-and-sex prestige television, or swoony dragons-and-sex romantic-fantasy bestseller franchises, are built on. But Guards! Guards! was prescient in other ways. It's the story of how the threadbare, drunken Night Watch of the city of Ankh-Morpork responds to an attempt to overthrow the government. The scheme is to replace the city's existing corrupt, dictatorial yet pluralistic administrator with an outright monarch by manufacturing a crisis: the Supreme Grand Master of a secret mystical society plots to magically summon a dragon, plague the city with it, and then stage the dragon's defeat at the hands of an assigned hero, who will then by acclamation become a puppet king.
Early on, the Secret Grand Master contemplates his complaining, bumbling underlings:
What a shower, he told himself. A bunch of incompetents no other secret society would touch with a ten-foot Sceptre of Authority. The sort to dislocate their fingers with even the simplest secret handshake.
But incompetents with possibilities, nevertheless. Let the other societies take the skilled, the hopefuls, the ambitious, the self-confident. He'd take the whining resentful ones, the ones with a bellyful of spite and bile, the ones who knew they could make it big if only they'd been given the chance. Give him the ones in which the floods of venom and vindictiveness were dammed up behind thin walls of ineptitude and low-grade paranoia.
This book was published the year Stephen Miller turned 4 years old. Elise Stefanik was 5. Steven Cheung was 7. Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth were 9.
The summoning magic, powered by the rage of embittered mediocrities, works. The crisis unfolds as planned, the government falls—and then the dragon reappears, turns on its summoners, incinerates the would-be king, and seizes the crown itself. At this point, the public, prepared for a coronation anyway, embraces the dragon as its new ruler:
"The way I see it," said one of the revellers, halfway through a huge greasy lump of half-raw meat, "a dragon as a king mightn't be a bad idea. When you think it through, is what I mean."
"It definitely looked very gracious," said the woman to his right, as if testing the idea. "Sort of, well, sleek. Nice and smart. Not scruffy. Takes a bit of a pride in itself." She glared at some of the younger revellers further down the table. "The trouble with people today is they don't take pride in themselves."
"And there's foreign policy of course," said a third, helping himself to a rib. "When you come to think about it."
"What d'you mean?"
"Diplomacy," said the rib-eater, flatly...
"I mean let's say the ambassador from Klatch comes along, you know how arrogant that lot are, suppose he says, we want this, we want that, we want the other thing. Well," he said, beaming at them, "what we say is, shut your face unless you want to go home in a jar."
They tried out this idea for mental fit. It had that certain something.
Here is a clip of a Fox News panelist explaining that demanding to buy Greenland is actually a longstanding American tradition—"Back in 1867, Democratic President Harry Truman tried to buy Greenland"—and that the autonomous territory of the sovereign nation of Denmark, a founding member of NATO, "has a lot of minerals, very important for our country."
As the dragon king settles in, the human official forced to speak for the monarch summons civic leaders to the palace to inform them of their responsibility to bring treasure to their new ruler's hoard, and to discuss with them "the matter of...the king's...diet." ("The age is immaterial. Marital status is, of course, of importance. And social class. Something to do with flavor, I believe.")
They avoided one another's faces, for fear of what they might see mirrored there. Each man thought: one of the others is bound to say something soon, some protest, and then I'll murmur agreement, not actually say anything, I'm not as stupid as that, but definitely murmur very firmly, so the others will be in no doubt that I thoroughly disapprove, because at a time like this it behooves all decent men to nearly stand up and be almost heard...
But no one said anything. The cowards, each man thought.

The Senate on Thursday voted 51-49 to confirm Kash Patel as FBI director.  Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., voted "yes" on the conservative firebrand's confirmation, even while moderates Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, voted "no."  A vote to invoke cloture and begin two hours of debate on the nominee passed 51 to 47 earlier Thursday. ***

A former Colorado sheriff’s deputy was convicted of criminally negligent homicide Thursday in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man in distress who called 911 for help after his car got stuck in a small mountain community. Jurors stopped short of finding former Clear Creek County Deputy Andrew Buen guilty of the more serious charge of second-degree murder in the June 2022 death of Christian Glass, which drew national attention and led to changes in how officers are trained to respond to people in mental health crises under a $19 million settlement with his family. The jury had the option to convict Buen on the lesser charge of homicide, which carries a sentence of up to three years in prison.*** This was the second trial for Buen. Nearly a year ago, another jury convicted him of misdemeanor reckless endangerment for putting other officers in danger by opening fire but could not reach agreement on a murder charge and a charge of official misconduct. With the support of Glass’ family, prosecutors decided to try him again for second-degree murder alone.*** After his SUV got stuck, Glass told a 911 dispatcher he was being followed. He also made other statements suggesting he was paranoid, hallucinating or delusional and experiencing a mental health crisis, according to Buen’s indictment. When Buen and other officers arrived, Glass refused to get out. Video recorded by officers’ body cameras showed him making heart shapes with his hands to the officers.***

The evidence room is not your personal lost and found.
An Alabama grand jury has recommended that a city's police department be "immediately abolished," finding there is a "rampant culture of corruption," officials said Wednesday while announcing the indictment of five of the agency's officers, including its police chief.***
Crocker provided limited details on the case. Though the investigation encompassed the department's evidence room and the death of a Hanceville dispatcher, 49-year-old Christopher Michael Willingham, who was found dead from a toxic drug combination at work, officials said.
The Cullman County grand jury found that the Hanceville Police Department has "failed to account for, preserve and maintain evidence and in doing so has failed crime victims and the public at large," making the evidence "unusable," Crocker said.
The grand jury further found that Willingham's death was "the direct result of the Hanceville Police Department's negligence, lack of procedure, general incompetence and disregard for human life," Crocker said.***

According to St. Clair Police, officers were dispatched to 17 North Front Street, at Xtreme Fitness, following reports of a female with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old Marissa Jean Sheeler of St. Clair suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. Initial investigations revealed that the shooter was none other than her own two-year-old child. The toddler had obtained a 9mm Glock from Sheeler’s purse and unintentionally discharged the weapon, striking Sheeler in the hand. Further investigation into the incident showed the child’s father, William Sheeler, admitted to police that he had previously "tested the strength" of his child by allowing him to squeeze the trigger of the firearm while it was unloaded. *** She is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on April 1st, 2025, for a preliminary hearing.

Colorado issues first psilocybin-related licenses, kicking off psychedelic industry rollout Colorado regulators have issued the first licenses to individuals seeking to open psilocybin-related businesses. As of Thursday afternoon, the Department of Revenue’s Natural Medicine Division had approved seven license applications for prospective business owners, including one who wants to open a psilocybin mushroom cultivation and another who hopes to operate a healing center. Additionally, the division issued one license to a local who hopes to work in the nascent industry. The licenses mark the first step in Colorado’s rollout of a legal psychedelic-assisted therapy industry. Although individuals have received approval from the state, each respective business also needs to be issued a license before it can begin operating. So far, no business licenses have received approval from the Natural Medicine Division, according to state data. Still, regulators at the agency expect the public could have legal access to services in this space as soon as spring. Tiney Ricciardi reports.

WTF, FBI?
The FBI is starting an investigation into the agency's plan to infiltrate President Donald Trump's first campaign using two female undercover agents as a honeypot. According to The Washington Times' initial reporting, the investigation was launched in 2015 by FBI Director James Comey and kept off the books. An FBI whistleblower broke the news of the inquiry to the House Judiciary Committee last year. The plan was said to involve two undercover female agents who had infiltrated the Trump campaign at high-levels.*** Initially, the whistleblower noted that the honeypot was a separate operation from Crossfire Hurricane, and sought to uncover no specific crime but was merely a fishing expedition.***
Totally off the books - no file #
The operation was ostensibly shut down after a major newspaper obtained a photograph of one of the undercover agents and prepared to publish it. The FBI's press office intervened, claiming that releasing the image would jeopardize a confidential FBI informant. According to the whistleblower, this was a deliberate deception: it was not a undercover informant but indeed an FBI agent. In the aftermath, one of the undercover agents was reportedly transferred to the CIA, effectively placing her beyond the reach of any potential inquiry. The other received a promotion and is now a high-ranking FBI executive in a major field office.

Do not move to the “center,” Democrats!
There’s nothing there.
Robert Reich
Dec 24
Friends,
In the wake of Kamala Harris’s loss to Trump, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says he isn’t going to criticize Trump’s nominees “because that’s all a distraction.”
A distraction from what? Governing?
Had 35-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez succeeded in her recent bid to become the lead Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, she would have represented a generational shift for the party and given it an energetic communicator with anti-establishment views.
But the party wouldn’t have it. The position went instead to 74-year-old Gerry Connolly, a longtime representative from Virginia who was next in line.
Some Democrats are now even calling for Biden to pardon Trump.
South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn says a pardon for Trump would be a way of “cleaning the slate” for the country. Pennsylvania’s John Fetterman posted (on Trump’s Truth Social, no less) that the “Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bullshit, and pardons are appropriate.”
Now, that’s bullshit.
I’ve been around long enough to remember how Democrats reacted to Adlai Stevenson’s two defeats to Republican Dwight Eisenhower: They said it was time for Democrats to move to the center.
When Humbert Humphrey lost to Richard Nixon, Democrats said it was time for Democrats to move to the center. When Jimmy Carter lost to Ronald Reagan? Move to the center! When Walter Mondale lost to Reagan? The center! When Mike Dukakis lost to George H. W. Bush? When Al Gore … When John Kerry … When Hillary Clinton … And on it goes: center, center, center.
What has this refrain bought Democrats apart from campaign contributions from big corporations and the wealthy? A loss of purpose.
Some Democrats warned along the way that a move to the so-called “center” would erode the party’s noblest goals. Ted Kennedy admonished Democrats at the 1980 national convention not to forget the fight for “the cause of the common man and the common woman.”
Historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. wrote in The New York Times that “me-too Reaganism” would be disastrous for Democrats because “if American voters are in a conservative mood, they will surely choose the real thing and not a Democratic imitation.”
But Democrats didn’t listen. In the late 1980s they became “New Democrats,” almost indistinguishable from “Reagan Democrats.” In 1996, Bill Clinton said “the era of big government is over” — ending welfare, enacting a vicious crime bill, and deregulating Wall Street.
Twenty years later, when Bernie Sanders tried to return the Democratic Party to giving voice to working people being shafted by CEOs and Wall Street, he was knee-capped by the Democratic National Committee to make way for Hillary Clinton — who lost to Trump.
Democrats have been moving to the so-called “center” so long they’ve pushed the “center” toward authoritarianism.
It’s more important than ever for Democrats to hold Trump accountable, even if doing so takes years. Democrats must also oppose any Trump move to prosecute those who have tried to hold him accountable.
Democrats must commit to opposing Trump’s agenda of deporting millions of people who, although undocumented, have been longstanding members of their communities; substituting Trump loyalists for dedicated civil servants; and appointing dangerous wackos like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, and Peter Hegseth, who shouldn’t be allowed to get anywhere near our government.
Now more than ever, Democrats should call out the multimillionaires and multibillionaires who are taking over our system by making gigantic campaign contributions and then seeking tax cuts, regulatory rollbacks, and exemptions to tariffs for their own businesses. Yes, I’m talking about you, Elon Musk.
It’s time for Democrats to commit to getting big money out of American politics.
Now is the time for Democrats to do what they used to do before the Democratic Party tried to move to the so-called “center.” Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. Strengthen safety nets. Increase public investments. Pay for all this by raising taxes on the super-wealthy.
This is no time for retreat. No time for compromise.
There can be no center between decency and indecency, no center between democracy and authoritarianism, no center between a government of billionaires and a government of the people.

Republicans follow the leader.
Tumblr media
December 23, 2024
The dictionary defines grift as an intransitive verb meaning to engage in petty or small-scale swindling. Unique in the world of criminals, instead of stealing or taking by force, grifters pocket others' money the easy way — by convincing their victims to willingly hand it over.
And for years the nation's premier exemplar of this has been the GOP's merchant of menace, Donald J. Trump. With his fraudulent charities, political PACs, foundation and university, not to mention his endless array of cheap merch (hats, watches, perfumes, bibles, sneakers and so on and so on), Trump has made the art of the grift his signal achievement.
So it's hardly surprising that his adherents, following in his footsteps, have turned the Grand Old Party into a marketing enterprise specializing in separating gullible MAGA cultists from their cash. Behold these examples.
Let's begin with former Trump advisor and current Internet pest Steve Bannon. Taking advantage of the MAGA hysteria over immigration, Bannon created an organization called We Build the Wall and solicited contributions to this undoubtedly worthy cause. But with the discovery that most of these donations went not to a border wall, but to Bannon's wallet, he was indicted on money laundering and fraud charges. Naturally, fellow-fraudster Trump pardoned him for the federal charges, but he still faces trial on the state ones in February.
Then we have Trump's proposed FBI director, Kash Patel. A couple years ago, he penned a series of ludicrous children's books featuring himself as a wizard defending “King Donald” from an assortment of Democratic villains, including "Hillary Queenton," "Sleepy Joe" and “Comma-la-la-la.” He's also flogged various branded apparel, playing cards, thermoses and flags, in addition to pills that claim to reverse the effects of the Covid-19 vaccine.
But wait, we found another one: goateed "Doctor" and soon-to-be Trump's deputy national security advisor, Sebastian Gorka. This clown promotes “Patriot Mobile” cell phones and sells Trump swag, a t-shirt that calls the FBI “Fascist” and “Dr Sebastian Gorka Theodore Roosevelt” cigars (a steal at $225 a box).
Sadly, we lack the space to include Ron DeSantis’ $37.47 “Build the Wall” trucker hats, Nikki Haley’s “Strong & Proud, Not Weak & Woke” t-shirts or Vivek Ramaswamy's shirts and coffee mugs emblazoned with the words “transgenderism,” “climatism” and “wokeism” crossed out.
In his book, The Longest Con: How Grifters, Swindlers, and Frauds Hijacked American Conservatism, Joe Conason notes that “ripping people off” is central to the American right. So it's easy to see why today's Republican Party, emulating their shoe salesman-in-chief, has become the grift that keeps on grifting.
