Inspired by your Canon!Marinette post with her worst moments with the Science Kids, I wonder something. Could you make a sequel post with the worst thing/moment Marinette had with the Akuma Class, with Luka and Kagami included?
Kim (Yeah. That’s right. Why don’t y’all sit the fuck down?):
Marinette was pissed at him for that prank, (which he was unsure of doing and asked Chloé a second time if he should still go along with it) that she decided to take revenge and hide some spiders in his locker
… Unfortunately, she just grabbed a random breed and Kim had to go to the hospital to get treated for a shit-ton of poisonous spider bites
Max:
Spread rumors online that he was sexist just because he got upset that he lost to her, subjecting him to a bit of online bullying
Ladybug criticized his video game because it made light of past Akuma victims’ experiences despite the fact he got permission from everyone who’s in the game to add them in, but she was adamant and got a ton of her followers to back her up
Myléne:
During one of Nino’s film projects, when Myléne as the female lead had to kiss Adrien, Marinette tripped Myléne and made her break her ankle so that she, the understudy, would get to kiss Adrien
Marinette was praised for her acting during the kiss scene, and Myléne got an honorable mention in the credits
Ivan:
Insinuated that Myléne could do much better than a “terrifying grunge rock wannabe.”
Claims she doesn’t have enough fabric to make him an outfit, but there’s a whole-ass role in her closet
Alya:
Marinette accused her of being a bad friend for suggesting that she should tone down her crush on Adrien, especially the schedule, and then the argument got heated when Alya yelled and called her a creep, then she got Akumatized
When she was cured, Ladybug basically gaslighted Alya into forgiving Marinette… Also, Laadybug makes sure the Ladyblog is scrubbed clean of Chat Noir because according to her, “He doesn’t do anything but flirt and joke.”
Nino:
Manipulates him into changing up his scripts for class film projects so that she can kiss Adrien despite it having no relevance to the film whatsoever
Marinette keeps trying to get him to tell her everything Adrien says so she can have more information about his life, but some things are private and Nino doesn’t feel comfortable sharing them
Nathaniel:
Continuously forgets to add him to group chats, hand him an invitation to a party, include him on the class roster, etc. And then claims that, “If you actually talked instead of drawing, maybe people would actually notice you.”
Ladybug criticized his and Marc’s comic just because it pointed out a few of her flaws, prompting her psychophants to boycott them and even vandalize their homes. She didn’t apologize until like two months later when they published a comic more to her liking where she’s perfect
Alix:
Continuously drags her into her stupid Adrinette plans despite Alix’s discomfort and protests on how her plans are creepy
When Alix said no once again, Marinette blamed it on her being Aromantic, Alix punched her, and that was the end of their friendship for good
Rose:
Marinette stole the hamster plushie her deceased grandmother gave to her so that she could give it to Adrien when she heard that he liked hamsters, too. Rose didn’t have the heart to say anything when she saw how happy Adrien looked
When Rose confronted Marinette, she guiltrips her and has the audacity to bring up her grandmother
Juleka:
Keeps fixing Juleka’s appearance when she offers to model for her, making her look like a completely different person and not like herself at all- Wig, eye contacts, intense contour, stuffing her bra, etc.
When the comments roll in on her website, Marinette doesn’t bother telling them who the model is and just compliments Juleka on how gorgeous she looks despite that girl in the picture not being her
Sabrina:
Let Sabrina do all the work for a group project while she had to do something as Ladybug… And it lasted well until the morning. By that time, Sabrina finished the whole thing, and all Marinette did was sign her name
When Sabrina confronted her about this, Marinette shrugged and asked what the big deal was. She does Chloé’s work all the time
Chloé:
Decided to rub it in Chloé’s face how Audrey has been offering her dozens of internships and even uses her actual name, just to “knock her down a few pegs” even when Chloé didn’t do anything today
Somehow managed to get a picture of Chloé hugging her teddy bear, and sent it to everyone in school. Chloé was so humiliated that she didn’t come to school for almost a month
Adrien:
The statue scene
Theft
Breaking and entering
Stalking
The schedule
… Anyway, Ladybug broke into his bedroom in the dead of night, sniffed his hair, and then kissed him while he was still asleep
Luka:
… Do I need to say it?
Vents all of her problems to him, makes it seem as though she was unhappy when they were dating, and rants about how “Adrien will never notice me! Help me, now!”
Kagami:
Spread rumors that she and her mother moved because she attacked her ex boyfriend back in Japan because she caught him talking to another girl
Sabotaged yet another contest Kagami was a part of where Adrien was the prize

Since a couple of you said you liked process art (and since I like seeing other people’s processes), here’s a quick look at how mine comes together.
Firstly, I have a script, which for the following page looked like this:
??: Nooo! Why is this happening?!
CN: Oh no, that’s--!
CN: (jumping through the trapdoor, right onto Marinette’s bed) Marinette Dupain-Cheng!
M: (pjs, dark circles under her eyes, messy hair) Gahh!
(THUD)
I changed some things as I went, like CN calling Marinette by her full name (because in the moment I wanted to show the line between Chat Noir and Adrien was blurring.) But the script is my basic outline.
On to the actual art, this is stage one, as previously seen on my blog. I box out the panels and try to figure out roughly where the dialogue will go (I learned the hard way to do this early on.) Characters are drawn super blobby. Sometimes they look a lot worse than this (Marinette was bald for a long time on this page, I decided to spare both you and her the shame of sharing.)
Stage two! Draw and redraw and redraw. Sometimes I figure out that a pose or expression isn’t working and I just have to keep fiddling with it. I have literally spent hours on one panel before if it’s being troublesome fff. This part was especially tricky because there’s... movement... I wanted to convey the sense of urgency but also of course make it clear where he was going. I’m still learning a lot about visual storytelling, definitely a good deal of trial and error going on here.
Stage three, and then you just color it lol IT’S THAT EASY (no, this also takes me hours sometimes.) I have my limited color palette going on so coloring/shading the characters themselves is pretty basic once I’ve done it a couple times (Alya was very tricky to figure out with her darker skin tone, plaid shirt, and ombre hair; it’s a lot to do with only a few shades and lemme tell y’all I did NOT plan ahead.) The backgrounds and stuff are again a lot of trial and error. I tried to use this particular part to transition smoothly from the outdoor nighttime setting to the brighter light of Marinette’s room and I’m pretty proud of how it turned out!
I actually add in all the dialogue right after stage one but I didn’t include it in these images because it looked distracting. The program I’m using right now is super limited re: text editing (I can’t do anything FANCY like bold or italicize, and I have to both resize and align all the text by hand.) So that’s yet again more trial and error lol. Basically my entire process can be summed up as: do it once; okay, now do it again but like... better.

I’M BACK! (Sort of)
HEAR ME OUT: Chlodrien basically being Steroline (The Vampire Diaries)
First of all:
✅ Shallow & self-centered girl (at first) + nice guy/golden boy
✅ One sided attraction/feelings (at first) coz guy was pining over the heroine
✅ Best friends to lovers
✅ Girl with blue eyes + guy with green eyes
Will try to draw them in Steroline moments once I have the time! (Spoilers ahead in case y’all are just starting to watch TVD)
THIS SCREAMS CHLODRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!! For those of you who haven’t watched TVD (haven’t rewatched this show in a long time so I might not be doing this ship some justice with my explanation), this couple basically starts out with the guy being the new kid in school and is in love with someone else. Girl instantly likes guy after laying her eyes on him and jokes about “Having a June Wedding” with him. She then lowkey makes a move on him and gets hit with “You and me? It’s not gonna happen.” (they do have a June wedding 7 seasons later LMAO)

Eventually, they’re in relationships with other people for a few seasons, but they still become best friends.
Despite a bit of friendship drama, they’ve always been there for each other and never gave up on the other when they were at their lowest. Really love how the show built up their friendship Miraculous canon when??? All we ask is for chlodrien friendship lol Probably one of the best slowburn romances I’ve ever seen!
Ok so the show had a really bittersweet ending, BUT STILL! This ship definitely had a lot of obstacles thrown in their way, but they had a lot of really sweet and hot scenes together. Watching how their relationship progressed from the beginning was beautifuuuul~ especially coz I didn’t exactly expect the writers to make them canon even though there were scenes that made you see their potential
^ THIS. FUCKING. PARALLEL
BONUS: She even had an old teddy bear named Miss Cuddles 😂😭
^ Mr. Cuddly A scene like this but with Adrien, Nino, and Luka (for context, guy was oblivious to girl’s feelings and he still hasn’t realized his own feelings for her):

Ah, and finally, the moment where I can see this being Adrien admitting to himself that he has feelings for Chloe and just because it wasn’t “love at first sight” or the same feeling as crushing on ladybug, doesn’t mean it isn’t true love — it might be even something better.
THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK
#chlodrien#chloe x adrien#been busy with work and got caught up with other fandoms#but I really missed chlodrien lmao#esp since we're never getting chloe's redemption arc I guess???#canon? we don't know her in this house

the enemy of my enemy (must be my ally)
Summary: When one of his akumas attacks Adrien and one of his classmates, Gabriel Agreste discovers that Marinette Dupain-Cheng would prove a very useful ally against Ladybug and Chat Noir.
How had he not discovered sooner? But oh well—better late than never. Ladybug will never know what’s coming.
Notes: from this post because everyone wanted me to write it. i warned y’all. feat. gabriel’s 2 functional brain cells.
AO3 | Kofi
Gabriel Agreste isn’t past admitting his mistakes.
Most of them have involved Adrien, so he supposes that it’s time to pay attention to the trend. And all of those mistakes have involved his growing career as Hawkmoth—and, more specifically, the choices he makes for whom he akumatizes.
Lila Rossi, now known as Princess Perfect—seriously, what the hell was wrong with this girl? He’d given her the liberty of choosing her akuma name, but such a godawful name is a bad reflection on him as well—kicks down the door of the classroom.
He sees it all through Lila’s eyes, like he does with all the akumas. Doesn’t mean he’s particularly happy about the turnout of this particular akumatization.
“What are you doing?” Gabriel demands to her. “I want Ladybug and Chat Noir’s Miraculous! You’re going the wrong way.”
Relax. Lila’s voice drifts into his head. I need to take a little detour.
“What detour—” Oh. Oh, shit.
In the classroom, packing their bags, is his son and that Chinese girl with pigtails—Marinette. The one that Gabriel knows Lila Rossi intensely hates. The one that he doesn’t like either, because for some reason, his son is infatuated with her. It’s Marinette-this, Marinette-that these days, and Adrien just won’t stop gushing about her. Father, look at these designs! They’re Marinette’s. Father, look who’s on the news—it’s Marinette! Father, can you hire Marinette to work at Gabriel Brand?
Marinette, a real headache. Gabriel rubs his temples. Maybe it’s a good thing that Lila’s after her. Better to nip it in the bud before Adrien’s attachment becomes a real problem.
“Fine,” he grounds out to Lila. “But leave Ad—leave the blonde boy alone.”
Already ahead of you, Hawkie.
“Don’t call me that!”
She ignores him in favour of turning to the two victims. Adrien is standing in front of Marinette, arms spread in a protective stance, glaring at the akuma. For a couple moments, nobody speaks.
Then, Marinette, eyebrows furrowing, says, “You’re Lila, aren’t you. Seriously? What is this—your third akumatization? Fourth?”
“My name is Princess Perfect now,” Lila growls back. “Get out of my way, Adrien.”
Marinette literally gags. “Did Hawkmoth choose that name for you?”
“No, I didn’t,” Gabriel seethes. Unfortunately, none of them can hear him.
“Yes, he did,” Lila lies breezily. “But that’s not important. You think you’re such a hot shot, Marinette? You think you can take the spotlight from me without repercussions? I’m going to make sure everyone hates you and loves me, and you’ll learn your lesson for trying to cross me. After all, who can say no to Princess Perfect?”
Gabriel sighs through his nose. Are all teens this dramatic?
Apparently, they are. Betrayal comes from those closest to home, because it’s Adrien that holds up his arms even higher, still staring Lila down. “You’re going to have to go through me if you want to hurt her,” he promises. “Marinette, get out of here! Run!”
Oh, for heaven’s sake—
Two things happen at once. Lila darts towards them, her whip lashing out directly at Adrien. Gabriel swears under his breath—why isn’t Adrien moving out of the way? Why is he so intent on protecting that useless girl? “Lila!” he barks through the bond, but the akumatized girl is too far gone. “Touch him and I’ll make sure—”
Gabriel trails into dumbfounded silence when Marinette shoves Adrien aside, grabs the end of Lila’s whip, and tugs the weapon straight out of the girl’s hands.
“You’ve gone too far,” she growls in a tone so chilly that it even reaches him. “Adrien, get out of here! I can handle her.”
Lila’s own shock lasts for a couple of times before she regains some of her composure. “You?” she sneers. “Handle me? Why, you pathetic—”
Adrien chucks a pencil case at Lila. It hits her cheek, and she whirls on him, enraged. At the same time, Marinette darts away from the window and slides behind the large wooden desk at the front. Gabriel, still watching the scene unfold, scoffs. So for all her big talk, she’s still nothing but a coward.
“Stand down,” he commands Lila once more. “Don’t you dare touch Adrien—what the hell?”
Lila seems to have noticed the source of his bewilderment as well, but it’s far too late. From underneath the desk, Marinette has lifted the thing—the giant, wooden desk—onto her shoulders.
Gabriel’s positive he stops breathing.
“Wait—” Lila begins. He sees it all through her eyes: Marinette braces herself for a moment and then throws it—throws the desk that a grown man shouldn’t be able to lift—right at Lila.
She doesn’t stand a chance. Lila goes down in a crash, pinned under the weight of Ms. Bustier’s desk that this small, petite girl had somehow bench-pressed and then chucked.
As much as Lila struggles, she is unable to remove the desk from on top of her. Given that his akumas have enhanced strength and she’s still incapable of lifting it, just how strong is Marinette?
Said girl in question stalks over to Lila. She plants a foot firmly against the overturned side of the desk and looks down at the girl trapped underneath.
Gabriel is certain that somehow, impossible as it sounds, Marinette is staring right through Lila’s eyes, through their connection, and into his own. His body freezes. His jaw locks. And for the first time in a very, very long time, Gabriel Agreste is absolutely terrified.
“Next time you try something like this,” Marinette growls, leaning in, “I won’t let you off so easily.”
With that ominous note, she snatches the necklace off Lila’s neck and marches right out of the classroom.
Gabriel remains frozen for a couple more moments. He isn’t certain if he still remembers how to breathe.
It wasn’t Ladybug nor Chat Noir that had foiled this plan. No, it was Adrien Agreste’s classmate, a girl who had previously annoyed him, that had single handedly defeated an akuma and scared him absolutely shitless.
What. The. Fuck.
***
“Adrien,” Gabriel says over dinner. “You know that girl you always talk about? Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
His son looks up from his meal with a bright look on his face. Once upon a time, Gabriel would’ve been annoyed. Now, after reevaluating the girl, he comes to the conclusion that it’s best Adrien stays on Marinette’s good side. She’s probably more than capable of beating his son up.
“Yeah, Marinette?” Adrien echoes. “You know how there was an akuma attack today? Well, Marinette was actually there in the classroom with me when the akuma came for us.”
Gabriel is forced to play ignorant. “Oh? What happened?”
“Well, the akuma tried to attack us, and Marinette picked up a desk—you might find it hard to believe, and honestly I would’ve too if I hadn’t seen her do it—and threw it at the akuma. When Ladybug and Chat Noir finally showed up, there wasn’t even anything for them to do.”
Gabriel shifts in his seat. “That is… rather unbelievable."
Except he swears he can still feel the heat of Marinette’s glare, and is forced to accept that this is the reality he’s living in.
“Why did you ask about her, though, father?”
He snaps back into the present. “Huh?”
“Marinette—why did you ask about her? Wait, father, are you reconsidering hiring her? Did you finally look at the designs I sent you? This is amazing. I’m sure she’ll do amazing. Your stocks will rise. You’ll get more customers. Marinette’s basically a walking lucky charm—this will be the best decision you’ve ever made, father. I promise.”
He frowns at Adrien. “Don’t make preposterous suggestions. But yes— I am considering giving Marinette Dupain-Cheng a job at the company, perhaps an internship one of the senior designers. She’s very… talented.”
He thinks of the way she’d lifted the desk and flung it at Lila. Talented, indeed.
Perhaps talented enough to finally give him an edge against Ladybug and Chat Noir.
***
Marinette Dupain-Cheng is more than eager to come in for a so-called interview. Nathalie has done her digging on the girl: she’s made it pretty big quite a couple times already, in the fashion industry and has quite a few connections. Even if Gabriel’s motivations aren’t technically for the company, he has to admit that she has much future potential to tap into in the future. But for now, that’s not his goal.
She’s impeccably dressed when Nathalie leads her inside his study. Her eyes are positively shining when she beams at Gabriel. “Mr. Agreste!” Marinette chirps. “I’m so happy to be here. When Adrien told me you wanted to interview me for the job…this is such an amazing opportunity to be presented with, and I am so honoured.”
Gabriel exchanges a glance with Nathalie. She nods subtly.
“It’s my pleasure to meet you, Ms. Dupain-Cheng.” He rises from his desk and holds out his hand for her to shake. She does so.
It takes all of Gabriel’s self-control not to show the pain on his face when she grips his hand.
How the fuck is this girl so strong?
Thankfully, Marinette doesn’t seem to notice anything wrong. Gabriel draws back his hand and tucks it behind his back. It’s throbbing.
“So, Marinette.” He sits back down at his desk. Marinette is practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. If she were any normal person, Gabriel might’ve snapped at her to settle down, but after that show with Lila yesterday, he decides that it’s for his own good not to get on her bad side. He’ll just have to channel all his patience—for self-preservation, really. “I understand that you’re interested in interning at my company?”
She nods excitedly. “I’ve been designing for years, Mr. Agreste—I’m aware that I have a lot to improve on—”
“What I have in mind for you—” Gabriel pauses, realizing that he’d interrupted her. Hurriedly, he gulps. “Never mind. Continue.”
“I’m aware that I have a lot to improve on but I’m a very quick learner! I promise I’ll do my very best to help you and your company.”
He nods. “That’s good to hear. For now, I’ll… I’ll arrange with Nathalie what we can assign you to do in the company. And I have another favour to ask of you, if it’s not too much.”
Marinette smiles. “Whatever it is, I’ll do my best to help you!”
Nathalie had warned him to be careful with Marinette—one wrong move and he could be ousted as Hawkmoth. He takes a deep breath. “I have become aware that there are some bad influences around my son in school. You are friends with Adrien, yes?”
“Yes, and… bad influences?” Marinette frowns, shifting her weight. “Oh, yeah, there’s one in particular. Actually, I’m not sure if you’re aware, Mr. Agreste, but I’m glad you brought it up. You know that akuma yesterday? That girl’s name was Lila Rossi. She’s been hanging around Adrien quite a bit these days, and ‘bad influence’ barely covers what she does. And—oh! When I confronted her once about making Adrien uncomfortable, she told me she had a ‘friend in a high place’ that was backing her up. I think you might want to look into that too, Mr. Agreste. It was pretty worrisome, to be honest.”
Gabriel’s mouth has gone dry. “I… yes. Yes, I shall look into that too.”
Marinette rolls her shoulders. “God, if I knew who they were, I’d throw them into the Seine. How dare they.” Then her eyes widen. “Sorry, Mr. Agreste! I was just… um, I was just talking to myself. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s perfectly alright,” Gabriel reassures immediately, although it doesn’t do much to ease the chill that is travelling up his spine. “Then it’s decided? Nathalie will give you her contact information—you can send her your resume just for formalities, and she will organize the rest. And… be sure to keep an eye on my son at school.”
“I will!” Marinette chirps, ever so chipper. Behind that attitude lies the strength to lift the desk he’s currently sitting and crush him. And much, much more.
Nathalie guides the girl away. Gabriel is unable to breathe fully until she leaves.
He has to calculate this well, because he can’t afford to lose a potential ally like Marinette Dupain-Cheng. He’s already thinking—perhaps she would do well with the Peacock Miraculous, or the Bee Miraculous, if he can get his hands on it again. If—if he can somehow convince Marinette to help him with his cause, all of his other plans don’t even need to go into action. Ladybug and Chat Noir will never see this coming.
Nathalie returns. “Sir, your face is rather pale,” she notes. “But may I ask what that was about? You were… unusually lenient today.”
Gabriel clears his throat and straightens in his seat. “Never mind me,” he dismisses. “But first, I need to contact Lila Rossi as soon as possible to cut off all ties. Let her know she’s fired.”
“Is this because…?”
He allows himself a small smile. “You’ll see soon, Nathalie,” he reassures. “We’ve finally got the upperhand in this fight.”

How the Web was Spun
This is another one-shot based off of a prompt from @silvia7272.
This one is a little shorter than my last one, but I hope y’all still like it!
How did Lila get the class to turn on Marinette? How did she get them to follow her in the first place? Easy, she lied.
It was so easy for Lila to get the class to believe everything she said. Lila was determined to trick them all. She needed to, if she was going to follow through on her threat to Marinette. Lila had been furious when Marinette saw through her lies. People like Marinette always ruined everything for Lila. And Lila wasn’t about to let it happen again. She decided she needed to make the first strike, before Marinette could mess things up. It would be easy to ruin Marinette. All she had to do was get her friends to dump her, but to do that she had to trick the whole class first.
The first to fall for her lies was Alya. Lila thought it would be so much harder, since the girl was supposed to be a journalist. But just like when Lila first got there, all she had to do was dangle any information about Ladybug in front of Alya, and Alya would do anything she said for an exclusive interview with “Ladybug’s best friend”. Alya was always so excited to have an exclusive that she never bothered to see if the information was reliable. And of course, wherever Alya goes, Nino follows. Lila promised to introduce Nino to Stephen Spielberg, since she knew him from her time in Hollywood, and suddenly Lila and Nino were best friends.
Rose fell next. Poor, sweet, foolish Rose. Rose was so kind; she would never question someone about what they said. And Rose loved to talk to someone about Prince Ali, and she loved Lila’s stories about Achu. Once Rose started to believe her, Juleka quickly followed her best friend and began believing Lila too. It did help that Lila mentioned knowing Lucio Manca from the band Raven Lord. Juleka wanted to hear all about Lucio and asked if Lila could introduce them. Of course, Lila told her yes. Just another empty promise from Lila.
Next it was Mylene. When Lila told her all about how she helped a bunch of go green organizations get started, Mylene hung off her every word. Lila told Mylene she would try and reach out to see if Mylene could join those organizations, and a week later she told Mylene the organizations wouldn’t answer her. That didn’t even bother Mylene who told Lila, “That’s fine Lila. If they won’t even respond to someone who helped them so much, I don’t think I would want to work with them.” When Mylene started hanging out with Lila more, that meant Ivan wasn’t far behind. Ivan had heard about Raven Lord from Juleka and was curious if Lila knew anyone else from the group. “Of course I know the others Ivan! I’m close friends with the drummer Claudio Tirincanti. I even helped them write a few of their songs.” Just like that, Lila had another of the class under her spell.
Max was easier to trick than Lila expected. For someone with a robot that could fact check anything Lila said, Max didn’t bother to use Markov to check anything Lila said. Max was already grateful to Lila for saving his eyes from a napkin. Then Lila heard that Max loved video games. So, Lila mentioned that she knew Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios from when she was a game tester there and that she could probably get him an internship with the programming department. Obviously, that would never happen, but Max was to excited to think about it logically.
Then Lila targeted Alix. She casually mentioned that she knew Brittany Bowe, a champion speed skater and had even trained with her before Lila tore her ACL and had to quit. Alix was amazed that Lila knew her and wanted to know if Lila could introduce her. Lila said she would try, and just like that Alix was hers.
Lila tried to trick Adrien and Chloe, but thanks to Ladybug Adrien knew she was lying. And even if Chloe believed her, Chloe would never follow Lila’s lead. Chloe is a Queen Bee after all.
After those little setbacks, Lila turned her attention to Nathaniel. She knew Nathaniel was making a comic with that Marc kid, so she told Nathaniel that she was close personal friends with the people at Marvel and had even helped draw a few comics before she got arthritis and couldn’t draw anymore. She also told him she could get him in touch with Marvel to get his comic published. Nathaniel got very quiet about it and wondered if Marvel would even be interested in his comic. “Of course Marvel would like your comic. I mean, they already liked that Spider-man comic, so surely, they would like your Ladybug comic. Plus, your comic is based on a real super hero.” And just like that, another of Mrs. Bustier’s students was caught in Lila’s web.
Then Lila focused on Kim. Kim was just as easy to trick as Alix. All she had to do was mention that she had trained with Michael Phelps before a shoulder injury made it to where she couldn’t swim any more. After hearing that story, Kim thought Lila was so cool and followed her around like lost puppy.
Finally, there was Sabrina. Sabrina originally posed a challenge since she and Chloe appeared so close, and Sabrina didn’t have any obvious interests of her own other than Chloe. But Lila was nice to her just in case, and Sabrina left Chloe’s side and became Lila’s friend, offering to do Lila’s homework for her. Sabrina never did like how Chloe treated her, she just liked being friends with someone popular and cool. So, when Lila, who was just as cool, started to be nice to her too? It was an easy decision for Sabrina to switch and be friends with Lila.
And just like that, Lila had the whole class stuck in her web. The class now believed everything she said. The class thought Lila was genuinely nice and they thought they were all friends. But Lila only considered them pawns. Now she could follow through on her threat to Marinette. She had the class’ trust and now all she had to do was get them to doubt their “Everyday Ladybug”. That would be child’s play for this liar. Marinette was going to pay for not falling for her lies. She would pay dearly.

Monarch and Fantombre
So, this is actually for December in the Miraculous Writers Guild [ @mlwritersguild].
I decided to use the prompt we got which was:
This was actually SUPER hard, for me at least. Like I didn’t realise how much what I wrote was influenced by music. Like seriously, if you’re artistically inclined, TRY THIS. It’s SUPER weird.
Anyway, Hope you guys like Monarch and Fantombre. I would’ve liked to write more, but I’m struggling with how I write, so this is what all y’all get. I’m like 90% sure it changes tenses like 12 times.
Hope I’ll post more, but no promises.
---
Alya sat in art class, waiting for the kiln to be free. She used the time to observe the people around her. Marinette was next to her, pen in mouth, a separate pen sketching a dress. Adrien was drawing on his tablet, fiddling with his brooch every time he was considering what to do next. Chloe was on her phone, overlooking Sabrina make a collage of Queen Bee.
Ughh, Queen Bee, now THAT was one of Alya’s biggest mistakes. Who on earth would willingly decide to give Chloe a miraculous?! Chole was one of the most reckless, irresponsible-
“Alya, you okay? You look like you’re trying to set fire to the clay yourself.”
Alya snapped out of her depreciation to look over at Adrien.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine sunshine boy. You just focus on making sure that brooch of yours stays pinned, huh? You realise the point of brooches is that they DON’T randomly fall out of clothing.”
“Oh, uhh, yeah, ha ha ha. The brooch. Yes. I should go see how Nino’s goin-“
The door is then flung open, startling the class.
“Where, oh where, is Marinette Dupain-Cheng!”
An akuma (because its current day paris, when is anything NOT an akuma) bursts through the archway, wearing a garish poofy dress, giant bow on her back, with a golden tiara adorning her head. She twirls a wand as she makes her way over to a scared marinette.
“W-Who are you?”
“Ha! That’s rich! I’m Glamour, otherwise known as the person you stole first place from! Or was that seamstress competition just too low a level for you to remember it?”
“But…you came in second! That’s still good! The prize was a $20 coupon to a fabric store that’s closing down. You can HAVE the coupon!”
“Oh please, You’re coming with me you competition stealing hack.”
Snapping her fingers, ribbons emerged from her wand, wrapping up Marinette.
“Ta-Ta, your Queen will be taking her prize now.”
Glamour stood up, threw Marinette over her shoulder, and burst out a window.
Alya was already halfway out the door by then.
---
Running into a bathroom stall, Alya watched as Nooroo flew out of her hair.
“Oh no…. your poor friend…”
“Nooroo, it’s going to be fine! I’m not going to let her steal my best friend. We just have to save the day now! You ready?”
“Of course, my lady.”
“Bright Wings Rise!”
---
Adrien ran out of the school, hiding behind a bush.
“Dusuu, you here?”
The blue Kwamii promptly flew out of his jacket.
“Of course! Now we can go save your one true love! Oh, it’s so romantic, isn’t it? There could not be a better opportunity to confess your feelings and reveal your true identity to your dulcinée!”
Rolled his eyes, Adrien playfully poked his kwamii.
“She’s just a friend, Dusuu. And aren’t we supposed to keep our identities a secret? Master Fu was pretty insistent on that part.”
“Just think about it! Reuniting with your sweetheart under the intense heat of battle!”
“Yeah, yeah. Dusuu, rise my feathers!”

Everything Stays
Big thanks to @theatreandcomicfreak for helping me work out my idea!! Can’t thank you enough <3<3<3
This is a Jasonette song fic to Everything Stays from Adventure Time, had this idea like a week ago and I’ve been working on it for almost 2 days now. It is the longest thing I’ve written so i hope you enjoy, and I didn’t check over it to much so sorry if there are many errors, but otherwise I hope y’all enjoy :>
///
Here she stood, it made it all to real. ‘Here lies Jason Todd, may he finally have peace’ A sob wrecked her small frame, Marinette no longer had an excuse to accept the inevitable. Years had past yet she still didn’t want to believe he was gone, it still feels like yesterday when she first met the boy with attachment issues.
It was a busy day in the bakery, the family was preparing for the massive gala they were catering. Marinette was now 12 so her parents let her help with preparations, they would need all hands on deck, this wasn’t any gala it was the Wayne Gala. Bruce Wayne himself had come in with the request a few months prior, it was to celebrate some achievement the Paris branch had achieved, it was something had gone completely over Marinette’s head at the time, she was just happy to help her stressed parents. The gala was tomorrow and they were finishing the decoration on the treats, everything from cupcakes and small pastries to thousands of macaroons still needed the finishing touches. To say it was hectic would be an understatement but the family had done it, 2 am everything was ready for transport to the venue.
Mari had dressed in a simple but elegant baby pink gown for the gala, her parents had dressed in formal attire with pink accents to match their branding. After the family with the help of the buildings staff set up Sabine and Tom decided to let Mari enjoy the gala, all the dresses of the high class event was sure to be an inspiration to the little fashion designer. As the doors opened to the massive ballroom a little girl was sitting off to the side to absorbed in drawing designs out of the Gothic architecture to notice. The gentle music was calming and helped inspire her more, once she had filled many pages she looked up and it was then the man himself made his grand entrance.
Bruce Wayne made an extravagant entrance after finally getting his new ward to put on his clothes presentably. Jason was hiding behind him, he had been living with Bruce for a few months now but that didn’t mean he was used to the attention, let alone positive attention. The large crowds combined with Dick not being there, Jason clung to his pseudo-brother like a lifeline, was getting to the young boy. Blue eyes surveyed the room, looking for somewhere, anywhere, to hide or sneak out, currently no luck came his way as he clung to Bruce’s leg, the older gentleman lightly petting his head, noting the kid’s distress.
Bruce quickly looked over the room, remembering that a little girl around Jason’s age was here with her parents who were catering. The parents seemed kind enough so when he spotted their child he subtly pointed Jason her way right as she was getting up. Jason nodded and while reluctant to leave the one person he knew, made a beeline to the wall where the small girl was. She had just finished smoothing out her dress when Jason reached her. Hand on the wall, slightly out of breath, he looked at her. A kind smile graced her lip, her hand already out, “Hi, I’m Marinette.”
That was the start of a beautiful friendship, while it lasted at least, the two were attached at the hip for the rest of his stay in Paris. She made him feel at ease and Mari was more than happy to make a new friend her age. The pair spent hours getting to know each other and became inseparable. It was a pleasant surprise for both sets of guardians, but not an unwelcome one. The call Dick got the night of the gala was not the one he expected, but one of Jason telling him all about the kind girl who told him stories about her life. Dick was happy Jason was able to find someone to be with while he wasn’t able to make it due to classes starting up again. When the Wayne’s had to go back to Gotham tears were shed, but promises to talk everyday and tight hugs were shared.
It wasn’t until almost two and a half years later that Marinette’s heart broke. She had been trying to contact him for a few weeks with no response, not totally unusual but still worrying, that she finally got a response that broke her. The news was playing in the background, but she couldn't hear it anymore, “Jason Todd, son of Bruce Wayne has died today as a result of fatal injuries” that was all she needed to hear to break down. She couldn't look at the screen when they showed his face, she didn’t read the letters she got from the Waynes, or acknowledge the invitation to his funeral. The pile was growing on her desk, the dust forming a noticeable layer, she couldn’t, it she did it would be all to real. For over a month she didn’t leave her room, her sobs could be heard from the living room. It took her almost two months before she would return to school, two weeks more before she said a real sentence to anyone besides her parents. Everyone who knew the sunshine that was Marinette was worried about her but didn’t want to make it worse so they just gave silent hugs and support where they could. Three and a half months after the funeral she was more or less back to her former self, though anyone who knew her before knew what things to avoid.
Six months later, she had caught up on all the work she missed and the new school year was starting Mari saved the life of an old man by the bakery on her way to class. It was later that day Ladybug and Chat Noir made their first appearance, almost 16 and she was tasked with saving the city she loved from a maniac who controlled people with butterflies and bad emotions. It was a good thing she learned how to keep her emotions in check before she was given this mantle. Chat and Ladybug decided to break to rule of not knowing each other's identities after it was clear they would need more help and had to call on other heroes. Fu wasn't happy about it but trusted their decision, it was about this time he started to teach Marinette how to become the next Guardian.
Six months after becoming heros the duo knew each other’s identities, a year after there was a team of full time heros. It was after they had been fighting for over a year and a half that the team agreed they needed more than themselves, they called the Justice League. At first they were ignored but through persistence they got the back up they needed. Two and a half years after becoming Ladybug Hawk Moth was tracked down and in cuffs before he could transform. The Watch Tower had been monitoring the Akumas and traced his location down to the Agreste manor, Nathile had put up no fight, and gave herself willingly to the authorities.
Three years had passed since she had been given earrings that changed her life when a note appeared on her balcony inviting her to the Watch Tower. At 19 years old Marinette was apart of the Justice League, the rest of her team had moved on. They had lives to live, and while they didn’t regret being heroes they had other obligations. Adrien fell off the map with some help, he didn’t want or need the spotlight any more he was done, Luka was Touring with Jagged Stone, Kagami had become a world class fencer and had to carry on her family name, Alya was becoming the next Nadja so she was the face of the Tv network, Nino was well on his way to being a famous DJ, Alix had extreme sports to compete in and street art to make, Cholé had began to take over the hotel business and working to make it international, Kim was an Olympic swimmer and Max was on his way to being a head engineer at one of the leading technology companies in the world. Marinette was the Guardian and while they all said they would continue to help she couldn’t ask them to do that.
For the next 2 years she spent most of her time at the Tower, slowly building money from commissions to buy a house of her own. MDC was known around the world and was commission only, you had to know someone who knew someone to even get a chance to get a design. Close to her 22nd birthday she finally started to look for a place of her own, she needed a proper place for the Kawmi after all. After many long nights Marientte decided to move to the last place she knew he was. It hurt but she had put it off long enough, and to Gotham she went.
When she told Batman where she planned to move he was surprised initially but helped her find a place to call home. She ended up settling on a home in the outskirts of the city, isolated enough for privacy but plenty of room and ways to get to the city. When Bruce got a call from the girl about 2 weeks after her 22nd birthday asking if he could tell her where Jason was he was shocked to say the least. ‘Does she know’ was the first thing going through his head, granted it had been almost 4 years since Jason had come back from the dead but as far as he knew, no one outside of the BatFam inner circles and the Outlaws knew that. The fact that she hadn’t gone to the funeral and never mentioned him until now perplexed him as well, what had suddenly changed. Sure both had learned the other’s identity when she joined the League but that was a while ago, why now. The choked sobs brought him back to reality and the young women on the other side of the line, he gave her directions to the former grave. They left it there because they couldn’t bring it in them to remove it, it was a reminder.
Let’s go in the garden
Today was the day Marinette told herself. It had been years, she could do it, no matter how hard it was. She picked some marigolds, lilies and roses before leaving her home. If she was going to do this she might as well bring something to leave there. Marigolds, why did she ever plant those, must have been because subconsciously it was something he always called her. A single tear fell down her cheek before she wiped it away and tried to smile.
You’ll find something waiting
Right there where you left it lying upside down
Marinette’s small bag didn’t hold much; just her keys, phone, some tissues and the letters finally opened. She had finally opened them the day she asked Bruce where she could see him again, but couldn’t make herself read them until the night before. She cried reading about it again, condolences and an open invitation to stay with the Waynes for a while if she needed to. She felt 15 again, crying alone in her room. Only this time she wasn’t alone, she had the Kwamis and they helped her sleep. The tear stains still noticeable on the one she couldn’t bear to open from Jason himself. It was to be given to her if he ever died, she still wasn’t ready to full accept he was gone. She may be older but it still felt like there was a hoel in her heart that she couldn’t fill.
When you finally find it, you’ll see how it’s faded
The underside is lighter when you turn it around
Marinette finally did it, the tall gates towered over her. She hesitated as she reached to open the last barrier keeping her from the inevitable. A hand absentmindedly went to the earrings. She had thought about it once, using the wish, but she knew better. The cost could have been anything and while she missed him she wasn’t that selfish. How was she to know that is even what he wanted, it wasn’t right so she only had the thought once on the anniversary of his death after she found out about the wish.
Everything stays right where you left it
The metal was cold when her hand finally made contact, this was happening. Almost 6 years after and she was finally going to have to admit it to herself. But it was okay, that is what he would want, wasn’t it? Shaking her head before she went down that rabbit hole again she followed the cobblestone path to the Wayne plot of the cemetery. No backing out now. The whole area was varying states of care, you could tell who had family that loved them and who was the last of the line. Many headstones had vines covering them, clearly older than the pristine graves with fresh flowers and candles still burning. How the candle stays lit in a place where rain seemed more common than the sun she wouldn't know.
Everything stays
The sizable plot had a small black fence around it. There were five distinctive burials. The tomb of Martha and Thomas Wayne was white and while simple it was elegant. Not a single crack and a single dying rose laid beneath the inscription ‘May Martha and Thomas Wayne rest in peace, hand in hand forever’, it was sweet. Truly loving parents taken from this world to soon. Next to the tomb was a far more simple Romanian burial, the grass still growing a healthy green. Mary and John buried how they would have been back in their home land, Bruce insisted they rest in the same place his family did. It was the day it was clear how much Bruce really valued family.
But it still changes
Mari finally brought herself to look at the last grave. ‘Here lies Jason Todd, may he finally have peace,’ seeing the words made her break down. It was all to real, the dirt was even looking recently moved. Her sobs must have been heard from the other side of Gotham, her legs gave out. Lightly tracing his name she finally let out everything she had been holding on to for years. Her broken heart was allowed to properly feel the hurt it had locked away so long ago. The flowers forgotten by her side, she stayed kneeling on the fresh dirt crying her eyes out for what must have been hours before she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder.
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
In little ways, when everything stays
Dick Grayson was doing his monthly flower change at the graves when he heard broken sobbing. His slow pace suddenly was a light jog, someone sounded broken, he had to help. Turning the corner he saw the unmistakable midnight hair and crumpled figure of the one person he never thought he’d see again in civilian life, let alone here. The one place he swore she’d never be, on his brother’s grave. He did the one thing he could think of and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, brushing her hair from her tear stained face and pulled her into a comforting hug. “It’s good to see you again Mari,” she held him like he was the only thing keeping her tethered to this realm.
Let’s go in the garden
“You want to come back to the manor with me, I’m sure Bruce would love to see you again. Alfred too,” her small head nod and last sniffles was enough of a confirmation to him. Helping her up, Dick took Mari’s hand and lead her to his car. During the ride he brought her up to speed about the new members, (Tim, Damian, Stephine, Cass), about how many pets they had, about really anything in their lives. Throughout she was slowly perking up again, laughing at his anecdotes about his siblings, completely avoiding bringing up Jason. Dick had already warned those at the Manor she was coming with him, and not to mention Jason. By the time they had arrived everyone was filled in and Mari had a smile on her face and a soft laugh as she heard about Damian bringing a cow home.
You’ll find something waiting
The movement the dark wooden doors opened Mari was engulfed with the smell of fresh cookies and a welcoming embrace of none other than Alfred. “Long time no see,” she patted his back and she returned the hug, the slight guilt in her tone immediately washed away when he held her tighter.
The family led her to the living room, she meets the other members of the house she was told about in her way there. Everyone was kind in their own ways, though those who had not heard of her before that day were wary of the newcomer. She livened up the room, it seemed that comfort and warmth followed her wherever she went. Alfred had brought tea and cookies for everyone and they talked about where life had taken them since they had last talked, then the topic came up.
Right there where you left it lying upside down
Damian didn’t mean to make the slip août Jason being a prick, he really hadn’t but the second Mari quieted he knew he said something he shouldn’t have. ‘How you you know’ was all that went through her mind, but quickly brushed the thought off, this could help. Everyone in the room held their breath as they waited to see how she would act, Dick had warned them and they didn’t understand until now. To say they were surprised when she had a small smile on her face after whipping a single tear would be an understatement.
When you finally find it, you’ll see how it’s faded
Marinette started to tell stories of her and Jason, about their close friendship. Everyone who knew the edgy man in question were in awe that he was once a ‘normal’ kid without problems expressing his feelings. She told them about the late night calls, the constant letters and gifts they would send each other. She spoke so roundly of him they couldn’t figure out why she had never come up until Dick had found her at his grave, what fallout must have happened caused her name to never be said, why were Alfred and Dick so happy to see her, so many questions went through the newer members’ heads.
The underside is lighter when you turn it around
Throughout her stories she had started to mess with the chain around her neck, it was going to need to be replaced soon, the daily wear was getting to it. When Marinette finally took it out to show, Dick’s eyes widened, he knew pendant. Mari gave it a sad smile before exhaling it was the last thing she had of him, it was the thing she valued most. It was the last gift he had sent her, a silver pendant with a warn robin resting on a blossom branch. Dick had helped Jason pick that out so many years ago. She told the group how she never took it off, only to fix the chain or replace it. Eventually she admitted, both to herself and the people in the room, her still existing feeling, “I think that’s why I couldn’t let it be real, let him go… I always wanted to be by his side, with him through thick and thin.”
Everything stays right where you left it
Everyone in the room heard the helmet thump when it hit the hardwood floors. Standing in the doorway was one Red Hood, domino mask still on with his mouth hanging open wide. Marinette was quickly out of her seat ready to strike should he pose a threat, but Dick’s gentle hand on her shoulder made her relax slightly, still not taking her eyes off of the new comer. “Jay-bird…” Dick wasn’t able to finish what he was saying or stop her when Mari launched herself at Jason, crying openingly again as she held onto him for dear life.
Everything stays
After the initial shock of finally seeing her again he returned the hold, just as strong petting her hair lightly, “I’m here, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere,” the pair didn’t care to notice when the rest of the Waynes left the room to give them privacy, nor did they care. They were finally in each other’s arms after so long, the dam broke all over again for Mari but this time her tears were joyous, her Jay was back in her arms. It didn’t matter how what mattered was he was there and he was real, actually here not some joke or illusion but the real thing, nothing would take him from her again if she had a say about it.
But it still changes
Finally pulling back to look at each other they took in the small changes. Marinette’s hair was longer and to her mid back hanging in a low ponytail, her freckles seemed more prominent. She stood tall and confident, it was clear she was built and while the years had been tough she had come out stronger because of it. Her eyes were still the most beautiful blue Jason had ever seen. Jason had become tall and puberty did him many favors. His muscles would show in pretty much any shirt he wore. And while those were big changes the most noticeable to Mari was the unnatural white streak in the inky mess of hair he had and the supernatural green that seemed to move in his eyes. It was still him though, nothing could change the fact he was still the Jason Mari had fallen for and couldn’t bring herself to let go.
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
Mari took his hand, leading him to the couch so they could properly catch up. The helmet forgotten and domino mask on the coffee table. If anyone had walked in they didn’t stay. They talked for hours and hours, the sun was rising by the time Mari had yawned for the first time, it had been a long day. “I could take you home if you’d like,” reluctant to see her leave. “Why would I go anywhere, you’re right here,” she made herself at home on his chest snuggling ever slightly closer. The light breathing lulled Jason to sleep not long after.
In little ways, when everything stays
Tim was the one who found the pair sleeping, in what looked like the first time in a while, peacefully. Sneakily taking a picture to send to the family chat he left the room to get more coffee, they deserved to sleep.
Marinette woke up to slight nudging and warmth, “Come on Mari, we should eat.” Startled she jumped up, almost hitting the table, forgetting where she was for a second she panicked but seeing his face brought back memories from the night before. “Oh thank god it’s you,” and with that she pulled them both in the direction of what smelled like food. Alfred had left out some food for the two before going out for the day. Marinette left after eating leaving her phone number with him and in return she got a small business card from him.
Do down to the ocean
Two days later and Marinette sat kicking her legs of the dock in the warehouse district. The card just told her to wait on this dock today and to be there by 6 in something casual but flexible. Is here she sat, waiting with light blue jeans, black vans and a dark red hoodie, music played in her ear as she waited. Being early she had nothing to worry about, she trusted he’d show up and it’s not like if something did happen she couldn’t protect herself.
They crystal tide is rising
The cargo ship in the dock next to the one she was sitting on was almost finished unloading its crates. A horn behind her brought her out of her thoughts, a motorcycle was waiting for her expectantly.
The waters’ gotten higher as the shore washes out
Grabbing the extra black helmet Mari held on tight to the person already on the bike. Once she was secure they sped off down the docks and to the amusement park all the while she was having the time of her life. Speed was something she loved and he gave it to her, taking the scenic route so they admire the view of the ocean and enjoy the ride.
Keep your eyes wide open, even when the sun is blazin’
The moon controls the tide, it can cause you to drown
Skitting to a stop in front of the waterfront amusement park Jason took off his helmet, a sly smirk as he watched Mari jump up and down in excitement. “That was the most fun I've had in years!!!” she handed him the helmet taking in the lights of the park, they were like stars on the dark night sky, shining in a rainbow of colors. “Well Cream Puff, we are just beginning, I got a lot of missed dates to make up to you,” Jason slung an arm around her shoulders and lead her into the park. They stayed up all night playing the carnival style games, winning each other prizes until they couldn't hold any more. As the sun rose they ended up back at Mari’s home collapsing on her bed in a fit of giggles, it was just like old times. Their prizes surrounding them as the two as they looked in each others eyes, they felt like they were 14 again. Maybe they could make this work, not maybe they would.
Everything stays, right where you’ve left it
Everything stays, but it still changes
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly

Words Upon Your Skin
My first lil contribution to the Maribat fandom Hope y’all enjoy
Worldbuilding Summary: You have a 50/50 shot of being born with a soulmate. Most find out in early childhood since kids always end up drawing on themselves. The only hiccup is that the universe decided being able to just write your names to each other was too easy so the only thing that won’t transfer through the bond is your names.
Now Mari always thought she was in the half without soulmates because she’s never had even a scribble appear. We all know better than that though so join me for a ride exploring the twists and turns of Marinette dealing with a new soulmate on top of trying to figure out who’s using the Butterfly Miraculous to terrorize Paris.
AO3
Chapter One * Chapter 2 * Chapter 3 * Chapter 4
“Bye bye, pretty butterfly.” Ladybug watched the small, white butterfly slowly flap away, back to its master. “Now, Kaalki.” A horse-like creature floated up to her ear at the short command.
“I’m going to need so many sugar cubes after this, Ladybug,” the Kwamii said before taking off, tailing the butterfly. Chat Noir stepped silently next Ladybug. The eyes of Paris’s heroes followed the specks in the bright summer sky until two quiet beeps broke the silence.
Chat placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry, LB, your plan is brilliant,” he said with a gentle squeeze. “And at least it was just Mr. Pigeon today.”
“I’m glad you have so much faith in me,” her gaze finally broke away and she looked at her partner, a grateful expression adorned her face. “Now let’s go recharge so we’re ready when Kaalki comes back.”
“Sure thing, bugaboo.” Chat saluted then leapt onto the closest rooftop.
She tossed the Lucky Charm into the air and cast her Miraculous Cure before bounding off towards the nearest hiding spot. Magic swarmed Paris. Any damage from the angry flocks of birds that overran the streets during the akuma attack disappeared. Ladybug didn’t pay attention to any of it as she ducked into an alley. In a pink flash Marinette was crouching on the trash littered ground, she flinched but couldn’t worry about how dirty her clothes were getting because making sure Tikki had enough energy to transform again was so much more important right then. Who knew how quickly it would take Kaalki and the akuma to get to Hawkmoth’s lair. Ladybug and Chat Noir had to be ready when the horse kwamii found their destination.
Marinette opened her purse, pulled out a cookie, and handed it to the red Kwamii floating in front of her. The girl started talking to fill the silence as the tiny God-of-Creation scarfed down the treat.
“Maybe after this, Adrien and I can finally expose Lila, you know, since we won’t have to worry about her getting akumatized?”
Tikki nodded and made a positive sound around the mouthful of cookie. Sitting down and leaning against the wall made Marinette’s clothes even grosser but the thought of not having to deal with Lila anymore eased her worries.
“As annoying as he was about preaching ‘the high road’ in the beginning, without Adrien, school would’ve been horrible. And who’d have thought that I’d be better friends with Chloe than Alya!"
Marinette smiled at Tikki as she tried to fit as much of the cookie in her mouth as possible and shook her head free of non-Ladybug thoughts. The little red bug popped the last chocolate chip in her mouth then grinned.
"Do you think you’ll need another, Tikki?” Marinette asked, already reaching into her purse for a second.
“No no, Marinette,” Tikki squeaked, cookie crumbs coming out with the words. “I didn’t use that much energy today.” She swallowed the last bite quickly and smiled at her holder. “Ready when you are!”
“Let’s just hope Chat is. Tikki, spots on!” Another flash of pink magic and Ladybug was swinging towards the top of the Eiffel Tower, the place Kaalki was going to meet back up with her and Chat.
***
In Kaalki’s personal opinion, famous people were the best to work with. What’s the point of granting someone teleportation powers if her and her holder weren’t going to be in the spotlight? And in Paris, no one was more famous than Ladybug. So when Tikki’s Chosen asked for Kaalki’s help in finally defeating Hawkmoth, of course she wouldn’t turn down the girl’s plan.
Kaalki closed the distance between herself and the dumb butterfly she was following. She watched it fly into the window of some big house then saw how the window closed behind the white bug. Alright, got the location. Now just to make sure Hawky and Mayura are inside, get back to the Eiffel tower, then teleport Ladybug and Chat into that room and I’ll be one of the Kwamii’s they write into the history books.
She got as close to the window as she could without the inhabitants noticing her. She peeked over the widow’s edge and saw the costumed Hawkmoth and a woman with Duusu floating nearby. With a nod, Kaalki channeled her powers to create a small portal just big enough for her and popped out the other side, almost flying right into the waiting teens.
“Did you find them?” Plagg’s Chosen asked. Ladybug was right behind him, pulling a sugar cube out of a bag.
“Of course I did, was there any doubt?” Kaalki grabbed the cube from the girl and daintily ate the sweet substance to recharge.
“Never,” Ladybug smiled then narrowed her eyes in seriousness. “Are you ready to end this Chat?”
“After you, M'Lady.”
“What about you, Kaalki?”
Kaalki nodded then widened her portal to fit the two heroes. She went through first to make sure it was positioned perfectly. In one fluid motion, Paris’s Wonder Duo dropped from the glowing circle, smashed through the window, and posed, battle ready. Kaalki waited, eagerly listening for the sounds of Ladybug and Chat fighting Hawkmoth and Mayura.
She was met with silence instead.
***
Marinette’s heart was racing. Her eyes couldn’t focus on just a single thing, constantly flitting around the room, taking in every detail around her once, the glittering of shattered glass under her feet.
Twice, the forms of Ga- no, of Hawkmoth and Mayura, in crumpled heaps just outside of the window’s light.
Three times, the torn and ruined white butterfly wings spread on the floor, like twisted flower petals.
It took a broken, choking sound from Chat to bring her back from the verge of what could only have been a panic attack. She rushed forward to kneel by the two adults.
Ok, first, make sure they’re still alive. A gentle press of fingers against their throats confirmed their unconscious states.
Next, look for the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous. A quick once over and Ladybug knew that these two no longer had the magic jewelry on them. She was about to stand up to look in the dark corners when Chat made that choking sound again. Ladybug looked back at her partner, his head was down and she couldn’t see his face.
“Chat Noir, what’s wrong? Are you ok?”
His head shot up at the sound of her voice. “Ladybug, I- Are they…” His shoulders shook and he seemed to fold into himself, almost as if to get as small as possible without moving.
“Chat Noir, please.” Ladybug straightened and slowly approached the other teen. Sobs were rattling his whole form now. “What’s wrong?”
“My father was Hawkmoth, Ladybug, and Natalie had to have been Mayura,” he gasped out. Those words must have broken a dam in him because he started walking back and forth across the circle of light, glass crunching under his boots, never taking a step into the darkness. “It all makes sense now, if you think about it. Of course Father was a recluse, he had to be able to get to his lair to akumatize someone at a moment’s notice.”
Twist, turn, step, step, step, then repeat. The longer he ranted, the longer Chat’s strides become. Turn, step, step, repeat.
Ladybug hurried forward and grabbed his shoulders, stopping his agitated pacing. She turned him to look her in the eyes. A sharp inhale and he was focused on her.
“Chat, calm down, you’re going to be ok. Let’s just talk this out.”
“Okay,” he croaked, close to tears again.
“Okay. Now Chat, are you saying Gabriel Agreste is your father?” A silent nod.
“And you’re Adrien?” Another nod.
“Did you ever think that Gabriel could be Hawkmoth?” Head shake this time.
Under the red and black spandex, Marinette’s heart broke for this boy. He always tries to see the best in people, and no wonder, with Hawkmoth as a father of course Adrien wanted to ignore the bad. Even if he never realized who Gabriel actually was. I’ve got to find some way to keep him from spiraling too far down for me to reach him.
She’d just opened her mouth to ask Chat/Adrien another question when a moan of pain came from behind her. She immediately switched to a defensive stance in front of her partner. No one was getting to him any time soon.
Gabriel Agreste inched his way up into a sitting position, holding his head in a hand the whole time. “Wh-what happened?” he groaned. He looked around his lair slowly, stunned when his eyes landed on the heroes standing in the light. “Ladybug, Chat Noir, how did you two get here?” Beside him, Natalie started to rise.
Ladybug glared at the adults before her, “Miraculous of Teleportation, you didn’t think we’d let you continue on your warpath, did you?"
As soon as, Natalie was sitting up too, Ladybug wrapped her yoyo string around them, ignoring the small sound of protest from her partner. Once the bonds were secure, the angered teen crouched to Gabriel’s eye level.
"Now tell me, Hawkmoth, where are the Miraculous?”
Gabriel’s eyes widened and he looked down at where the butterfly brooch had been for the last two years. “I-I don’t know, Ladybug. I just had it.” He started desperately searching the area around him, as if the Miraculous was hiding among the dead butterflies littering the floor.
“I had just used it to akumatize that girl who was not invited to a classmate’s party again,” he started to ramble, pulling on the cords around his torso. “I-”
Chat Noir interrupted the panicking man, “What do you mean? We just fought Mr. Pigeon again, not some girl.”
“No, I distinctly remember the feelings of a girl being ostracized by her peers,” Gabriel sneered. He glared up at Chat before Ladybug stepped between the two, blocking the man’s line of sight to her partner.
Ladybug was glaring back when she saw Gabriel’s eyes glance behind her and his face paled. “Chat what’s he looking at?” I can’t look behind me, this could be a trick.
“Nothing, M'Lady, there’s just the window."
"What’s the date?” Gabriel’s voice came out as a whisper. A gentle breeze blew through the trees, leaves rustling was the only sound for one heart stopping second.
“June 2, why?” His face whitened even more. It looked like the ghost of Gabriel Agreste was kneeling in front of her. He shakily made eye contact with Ladybug again.
“The last thing I remember was akumatizing a teenage girl on January 2. The trees outside were covered in snow.”
Ladybug’s eyes went wide and she whipped her head towards the woman tied up with Gabriel. “Natalie, what about you, what do you remember?”
“The,” the woman paused, obviously still not completely awake, “the last I remember was dropping Adrien off at a photoshoot, January 2 as well.”
“That means,” Ladybug stumbled back, “something stole your memories."
Chat shifted behind her then added, "And your Miraculous."
Chat Noir and Ladybug moved to a dark corner to decide what to do about the poor excuse of a father sitting just outside the circle of light. Her arms were crossed and her posture tense while he looked more defeated than the magic-less duo still tied together.
"I think we should call the police and have both hauled off!” huffed Ladybug, still very much pissed that Adrien’s own father was the villain they’d been fighting against for so long. “But,” she deflated, “he’s your father, what do you want to do?”
Chat Noir opened his mouth to say something, thought better of it, then opened it again to simply state, “I’ve already lost my mother, I don’t think I can lose him too.”
Ladybug’s gaze softened as he went on.
“Look, I know he fucked up. He fucked up really bad. But we don’t even know why he wanted our Miraculous.” Ladybug tried to interject but a raised, leather hand stopped her. “I’m not excusing anything he’s done, I just want to know why.”
With a nod Ladybug led the way back to Gabriel and Nathalie. She silently stood, glaring down at the man before speaking, “Why did you want our Miraculous?” Gabriel seemed to weigh his options then answered.
“To bring my wife back. To make my family whole again.”

Seeing the Unseen
MDC-draws: hey y’all do you want to actually meet up this weekend? Im free and we all live in the paris area so…
kitty: sure! We can meet at the eiffel tower, so that way none of us have to actually reveal where we live or anything
report-no-abort: yeah thats chill with me but im only free on saturday
dj-turtle-the-nyurtle: Yeah sure
MDC-draws: great! We can meet at the Eiffel Tower as kitty said.. I’m free from 3-4 on Saturday?
kitty: that works! Might have to duck out earlier bc I’ll have a shoot at 4:30 but that’s cool
report-no-abort: yeah that works for me too
dj-turtle-the-nyurtle: alright. See y’all there then
*
Marinette steps into the elevator anxiously. It was 2:57, and she was stressed. What if they were actually old people catfishing her? What if they bailed? Or what if, even worse, they weren’t even in Paris?
The elevator stops at the viewing deck of the Eiffel Tower. She sees a group of adults and children, and off to the side was an old couple.
She sits on a bench by a pair of viewing binoculars. Her foot won’t stop tapping.
She fidgets with her red and black scarf, the agreed-upon signal for her friends to recognize her by.
She sees a boy approach her hesitantly. He wears a deep green jacket over black jeans, and he has headphones sling over his neck. He wears a green beanie.
“Dj? That you?” She asks, feeling stupid about calling him by his username.
“Uh, yeah. But my real name’s Nino,” he responds somewhat awkwardly.
“I’m Marinette, then. Wanna head to the lounge? It’s kinda cold out here.”
“Yeah, sure. Do you know when the others’ll be here?”
Marinette checks her phone briefly. “No… neither of them have said anything. I can ask, though?”
He nods. Marinette patters away on her phone.
She looks back up at him. He was definitely taller than she expected.
“I told them both to meet us at the lounge. Um, Kitty said he’d be here in five, he was just running a little late. And our favorite reporter said that she got caught up- there’s something happening near her house and she just had to record it.”
Marinette rolls her eyes and Nino runs a hand through his hair. They share a look and grin.
They had reached the lounge as they were walking and talking. Marinette opens the door for Nino and closes it behind herself.
“So,” he begins awkwardly as they sit down on a sofa together. “Uh, do you actually draw or is that just a screen name?”
Marinette brightens and she launches into a detailed explanation of her designing, and she pulls out her sketchbook.
They pour over it for a few minutes until a harried-looking girl bursts in. Her red and brown hair is flying about. She stops and looks around until her eyes land on them.
Her jacket is an orange and deep brown. It must be their third friend.
She walks to them and sits down. “Dj and MDC? Is that you?”
Marinette nods. “My real name’s Marinette, and this is Nino.”
The girl smiles. “My name’s Alya.”
“Hey, Alya,” a boy says, walking behind her. His blond hair is considerably neater than Alya’s. He wears black and green boots.
“Oh, hey, Adrien. Didn’t know you’d be our precious lil kitty,” she teases. He pouts adorably and Marinette’s heart melts into a puddle of goo. He was like a little kid who needed to be protected.
Nino looks between Adrien and Alya. “How do you two know each other?”
“Oh, we go to school together. It’s kinda funny to think that we were both ignoring each other in class in favor of talking to each other.” Alya snickers.
Marinette whips her head towards Nino. “You! Aren’t you the one who replaced all of the ink in my pens with milk because I rejected your friend?”
Nino shrugs guiltily. “Eh, well, bros before hoes, am I right?”

-Lordbug, Robin and Kitty Noir- Chapter Two: In Which Damian Gets Soaked
/Part One//Part Two//Part Three//Part Four//Part Five//Part Six//Part Seven//Part Eight//Part Nine//Part Ten//Part Eleven/
Description: Idk it’s just fluff man
Warnings: Cursing I guess that’s it
---
Kitty Noir. Damian hummed under his breath, the name sounding around his head. Black Kitty. Hey, at least his ‘partner’ had a name worse than Lordbug.
“Damian! How dare you take the Ladybug miraculous without telling me!” To say that Fu was furious was an understatement of the century. Wayzz had, of course, told his master once Damian bounded back to ask ‘What the hell I can’t kill them’.
Damian tried not to look guilty (Because he didn’t feel guilty, really!), and gave Master Fu a bored expression. “Face it, Fu, if I didn’t take the miraculous, <>those monsters would still be out there.”
Master Fu tried to think of a good punishment, and then walla- There the solution was. “Damian, as your punishment, you will be the Ladybug miraculous holder until after Hawkmoth is defeated.
---
Damian groaned, slamming face-down onto his bed in the Chinese-themed room. Great. He was stuck with ‘Lordbug’ permanently. If he knew that was going to happen, he wouldn’t have come up with such a cringey name.
“Are you okay, Damian?” Tikki’s chirpy voice asked him worriedly.
“Do I look okay to you?” Damian snapped, having swapped from French to English in the heat of his anger.
“Well, if you want me to speak English, I can.” The Kwami offered. “I’ve been to England before.”
“Just shut up and go away!” Damian growled loudly at the Kwami, who flinched, clearly afraid of the dark-haired boy, who planted himself back in his bed, refusing to do anything else to kill the time.
---
“Marinette! Wake up, kid! You’re going to be late!” The cat Kwami fussed over his holder as she got up groggily.
“I’m up- Goodness, what time is it?”
“It’s already seven!” Plagg screeched, dragging Marinette’s bag towards her but failing due to its weight and his size, causing the girl to laugh lightly as she picked the bag up, cuddling the little Kwami even while he protested.
“Alright, grumpy kitty.” Marinette chuckled. “Let’s go to school.”
And for once, she wasn’t late.
When she stepped into her class, though, it seemed that a lying fox had beat her and was earlier than she was.
“Hi everyone, I’m Lila Rossi. Please take care of me.” The girl introduced in smiles and sunshine and rainbows- Before taking a seat at Marinette’s place.
“Um, sorry. That’s my place.” Marinette apologized.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I have hearing problems. I must sit here.” The girl pouted sympathetically. “Besides, shouldn’t you be taking care of that new boy?”
“Yea, girl.” Alya grinned, looping her arm around Lila’s affectionately. “I’ll take care of Lila.”
Marinette turned, meeting eyes with a dark-haired boy sitting at the very end of class. He frowned at her, watching her as she headed up to him, plopping down next to him.
“I’m Marinette.” She smiled sweetly. “The teacher told me about you. You must be Damian Wayne. Do you want a tour of the school?”
Inside her bag, Plagg peeked out, glancing at the green-eyed boy. “How could Tikki choose such a holder?” The Kwami hissed angrily. “He isn't worthy of my cat!”
---
“Thank you.” Damian thanked, not really being thankful but just being polite. Marinette shot him a sweet smile.
“No problem! Should we get back to class?” Marinette smiled.
---
It was going to be his first night patrolling. He stashed a few knifes and Batarangs into his utility belt, and agreed (Reluctantly) to let Tikki come along.
Opening the window to get out of the stuffy bedroom, he shot off his grappling hook, retracting it as he leaped out of the window into the dark nocturnal atmosphere.
Jumping from building to building was quite the stress reliever for him, with a flush of lights and colors a blend of the city of love. Tikki, safely hidden inside his hood, watched everything with an eye of awe. She had never really gotten to see Paris- Or whatever city it was at that time- Because she was always in the transformation when her Ladybugs went swinging by. She had never been able to enjoy the beautiful view, or the thrill. Clearly, Damian was enjoying himself, too.
After a while, the Kwami of creation had fallen asleep, only to be awoken when she felt the vibrations of her holder speaking to himself. “Who’s- Is that? The girl... From this morning-” Damian was murmuring a random string of his thoughts, flinching slightly when he felt Tikki stir.
“What’s wrong, Damian?” She chirped, peeking out of his hood to see him standing on a taller building overlooking a girl on a lit balcony of a bakery. “Is that... The girl that showed you around this morning?” And Plagg’s holder?
“Yeah. Her name... I think... Marinette?” Damian was halfway between murmuring to Tikki and himself, stranding off into his own thoughts.
“You should go talk to her.” Tikki encouraged. It would be a good idea for Damian to become friends with Plagg’s holder’s civilian identity.
Scoffing, Damian turned away, preparing to move on with his patrol. “You can’t tell me what to do.”
---
“Um... Who are you?” Marinette asked awkwardly as a black, red, and yellow dressed superhero landed on her balcony.
“R-Robin.” The boy seemed to blushing as he balanced himself on the railing of her balcony, growling under his breath once a while at what seemed to be a voice in his ear. An earpiece, perhaps?
“I’m Marinette.” She smiled, “Nice to meet you, Robin.”
“W-What are you doing out this late? It’s dark and cold out.” Robin murmured, stepping off the railing and onto the balcony.
Marinette shrugged. “The night view. It’s breathtaking, isn’t it?”
Robin turned to look at Paris, with it’s glistening yellow lights, and the faraway silhouette of the Eiffel tower.
He didn’t dislike Paris. He hated it.
“Yeah, it’s breathtaking.”
---
“Morning, Damian!” A chirpy voice called out, and Damian spun around to come face to face with Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Tikki giggled under his hood, but a quick warning swat warned her to stay quiet, although that didn’t stop her from teasing him later.
“Dupain-Cheng.” He greeted with a little smile, because honestly, was anyone able to resist smiling around the little angel? Surely not.
“Let’s head to class!” She beamed, pointing in the direction of her- Their- Class, and nodding reluctantly, he was dragged by the little angel into their class.
---
They were walking out of school together, simply because 1, there was no one else to walk with, and 2, they were going in the same direction.
“It’s raining.” Marinette sighed mournfully, already picturing herself getting home soaked.
“Well observed.” Damian commented with a smirk, raising his hands in surrender when she glared at him.
“Marinette!” A blonde called, racing out from the school doors. Adrien Agreste. “I- Sorry for yesterday. I was only trying to get the gum off your chair.” He apologized. Her bluebell eyes widened in realization. “Um, it looks like you don’t have an umbrella. Why don’t you take mine-”
Before Marinette could say anything, Damian did. He pushed Agreste’s umbrella away, smiling tightly. “No need.” Drawing an umbrella out of his bag, he opened it in one fluid motion, smiling at his little angel.
“Shall we?”
She laughed lightly, grabbing his arm as she jumped into the rain with him, causing him to groan. “You made my shoes wet!” He grumbled, only earning another laughter and a hasty apology from her.
“Sorry. There’s a dryer in the bakery, so maybe you could get your clothes dry before you go home.” Marinette suggested, brushing a strand of wet hair out of her face.
“No thank you.” Damian turned her down, refusing straight-forwardly.
She pouted. “But-”
Before she could finish, though, Chloe’s car drove past, and upon her instruction, the driver splashed through a large puddle. Marinette flinched and braced for the impact, but not before Damian shoved the umbrella in front of her. However, in the green-eyed boy’s quick thinking to protect her, he forgot about himself, getting drenched in the process.
Glancing down at his wet clothes, Damian sighed. “Maybe I’ll take up your offer on the dryer.”
Looking at his more-or-less dry holder from inside Marinette’s bag, Plagg sighed. “I guess I should’ve know better than to doubt Tikki’s choice. Perhaps he is deserving of my cat afterall.”
---
“Oh! I just got an idea!” Marinette suddenly burst out on their way to her bakery. Damian eyed her warily.
“What is it?” He asked cautiously, having a bad feelling overshadowing.
“You could leave your clothes in the dryer, and you can go home in some of the clothes I made!” She grinned. “I’m quite sure I could find something that’d fit you.”
“You design your own clothes?” He was definitely not expecting that one coming. A familiar glint approached her eyes, and Damian felt his heart jolt.
It was the same glint that Grayson always had when he spoke of Starfire, it was the same glint that Todd had when he played with his stray dog, Bacon, and it was the same glint that Drake had when a new case appeared.
It was a glint of passion.
And it would be the same glint in Damian’s eyes when he thought about his angel.

Blurry.
That was the only emotion she felt.
Hold on, that’s not an emotion.
Taking a shallow breath, Marinette opened her eyes, trying to identify why she felt blurry. She tried to take another breath, but it felt like she was trying to inhale through a card. Trying to rub at her eyes was futile; she couldn’t pick up her arms no matter how hard she tried.
Looking around, she realized she was still at school, even though it was dark outside the open window. Shouldn’t she be home by now.
Marinette was barely able to hazard a glance at her reflection in the glass, face paling at what she saw. Her face was covered in a sheet of lace, almost like a paper bag over her head that tied into her pigtails. She had a white fur shawl, draped loosely on her forearms, black balloon shorts and sheer tights on her legs. Her sheer white shirt flounced around her, as if it was not on her, but floating around her form. However, it wasn’t her choice of clothing that made Marinette gasp, but the three arrows in her back, tacking her shirt securely to her body. She choked at the sight, however, the words that left her mouth were not her own.
“I am Queen Min,” She snarled, voice so unlike herself, “I will find those who betrayed me and make them pay. Starting with you.”
“M-…Marinette?” Adrien cowered in front of her, eyes wide as he tried to crawl backwards down the steps. Marinette looked on as her hand snatched out faster than she could track, fingers replaced with silver claws, “Marinette, please… I didn’t know you were hurting so much!”
The claws pinched around Adrien’s neck, Queen Min’s shining blue eyes the only thing visible behind her veil, “That’s a lie! You said yourself you’ve never seen me this upset, but you left me alone. You, who lectured me on trying to prevent an akuma out of Lila, but wouldn’t do the same for me. You, who have had friends who believe you when you speak!”
“I-I tried! You only stutter when you speak to me, I could tell you were just jealous of Lila!”
Marinette’s eyes widened in disbelief and fury, her other hand slamming next to Adrien’s head, their faces unnaturally close, so close she could smell the fear on his breath. A wicked grin broke out on her face, “Well, well, well. Looks like I should have trusted my first instinct about you, Agreste. A coward, a boy too buttered up by his fame to try and -”
“Stop, Marinette!” Queen Min turned with a snarl, spotting Chat Noir perched on the edge of the open window.
“I’m Queen Min now,” She hissed back venomously, turning to the superhero and letting Adrien drop to the ground, “And I want your miraculous, kitty. I’ve already got Ladybugs. Don’t you want to see her again?”
“Marinette, wake up!” Chat Noir didn’t take the bait, instead leaping at her and crashing into her shoulder. She grunted softly, forearm blocking him as he tried to smack her with his baton. Her other hand lifted in the air, coming down with a woosh as silver claws tore through his skin.
Though his face bled, he seemed unaffected, “Marinette, please! Wake up!”
“Marinette!”
Startled, Marinette launched up right, her head crashing into something solid, “Ow, ow, ow!” She grumbled, the words coming out of her raw throat painfully. Dizzy, sweating, and out of breath, she tried counting down from ten to calm herself down, It was just a dream… just a dream… Her hand reached up to grab her sore head, but soft fingers met leather instead of hair.
“Marinette, are you alright?”
An ungodly shriek left her mouth as she looked up into the eyes of Chat Noir, peering down at her with clear concern, “Oh my god, Chat Noir, I didn’t… what happened to you?” He looked ragged, as if he had raced over here. His chest was heaving, trying to catch his breath.
“I saw an akuma heading out and had to chase after it. It led me here. Princess, are you okay?”
Marinette barely heard what he was saying, still panicked. She scanned his eyes, her own flicking distractedly to four pink lines across his face. Remembering her nightmare, she glanced at her hand, “Oh, god.” She reached up her left hand, fingers lining up perfectly with the marks on her kitty’s face, “Oh, oh, god… oh my god!”
“It’s okay Marinette,” He whispered, grabbing her hand in his, “You were having a nightmare, I should’ve known better than to try waking you up from the front.”
“Oh…Oh..” Marinette screwed her eyes tightly shut, guilt washing over her like a fiery fan. Her breath escaped her shakily, and it was only then she felt how badly she was shivering. She felt the tears in her eyes as she thought of how horrible the dream was, how horrible she had been treated at school that day, how close she had come to being akumatized, how close she had come to making her dream a reality.
“Hey, hey, hey,” Chat Noir’s gentle words interrupted her, and he flinched when their eyes locked. All Marinette could think about was the pain she had seen in his eyes in her dream, green eyes reflecting only concern now, “Is it… is it okay if I hold you?”
As though her head was stuck on a rusted spring, Marinette bobbed her head. The leather of his suit was surprisingly warm and soft, and the feeling of comfort she had been isolated from all day washed over her. Her heart was overflowing with the love Chat Noir was offering, and suddenly, subtly, Marinette found herself sobbing in her partner’s arms.
One hand reached into her hair, claws gently tracing through her scalp before fingers untangled her hair. Soft murmurs of comfort reached her ears, but Marinette was too engrossed in her emotions to recognize what was being said, only the sentiment behind them. She buried her face into his chest, unabashed by her actions and only seeking what she couldn’t find at school that day.
Adrien’s heart was breaking for the girl in his arms. Since she was in the back of the class now, it was a lot harder for him to check on her. Every time he turned to try and meet eyes with Marinette, Lila’s hand was on his arm asking him about a problem on the homework. Even after class, Marinette had left fairly quickly, citing her parents needing her to deliver a cake. Adrien might have bought the lie, except he’d recognized the look on her face. The one where the smile on her beautifully pink lips doesn’t reach her eyes. He’d stood abruptly out of his seat to chase after her, but he was snared back by Lila’s tight grip, “Can you help me carry my books to my locker, Adrien? It’s because of my wrist.” Strange how she had the strength to yank him back from his chase, but not enough to hold her textbooks.
After about half an hour, Marinette finally began to calm down. Her face must have been splotchy and red, and she sighed softly against Chat Noir’s arms. Though she would rather spend another hour like this, she knew he deserved an explanation, “I’m sorry.”
“You’re s- what?!” His body stiffened underneath her, startled, “You- what? You have nothing to be sorry for!”
Marinette sniffed gently, “I’m sure you have other things you need to be doing. It’s a school night, anyways.”
“Marinette,” He said emphatically, taking her chin and guiding her face to look at her, “You’re important to me. This is always going to be a priority.”
Her eyes began to water again, and he cupped her cheek, “I don’t care what time it is, or what’s going on. I want to be here for you.” He pressed his forehead gently against hers, thumb lazily drawing light circles on her cheek.
“O-Okay…” Her eyes glanced down once more before meeting his again. She took a shuddering breath, tilting her head gently to introduce their lips. It was quick and gentle, a little bit soggy on her part and chapped on his, but it gave her the courage to start her story.
“I.. I was threatened by someone at school today, and the way she made me feel almost got me akumatized.”
Chat Noir was experiencing whiplash, emotions high after getting a kiss from the oh-so-lovely Marinette, to dropping rock bottom.
“You what?!”

La Saint- Valentin (drabble) MLB Adrien x Marinette
Hi Y’all! I wrote this after Valentines day and after I binged watch the new season of MLB, I decided to come up with a one shot. Maybe series? Not quite sure yet but we’ll see. Enjoy! :)
La Saint-Valentin is up and coming. Alya is pestering Marinette non-stop about confessing to Adrien on La Saint-Valentin. Finally, she gathers the courage to tell him….but...is someone else confessing as well?
“Alya…”
“No excuses! It’s been a whole year, girl. Just woman up and tell him! I don’t know how many more times Nino and I can set up meetings for you two to spend time together.”
“I know but–” Marinette tried to explain.
“And no buts! Just this once it would be so amazing to go on a double date with my best friend, instead of those ‘playdates’ that Nino and I always have to arrange.”
Marinette lowered her head in shame. Alya sighed in realization and placed an arm on Marinette's shoulders in comfort.
“I’m not saying that I’m tired of arranging them for you. If I can bring you and Adrien closer together than I’m all for it. I’m only saying I wish we could be celebrating together. You know?
Marinette nodded. “I get it Alya. No need to worry.” She let out a sigh. “Okay. I’ll do it. I’ll do it for you.”
Alya let out a cheerful cry. “Woohoo! That’s my girl.”
Inhaling a breath to calm her already tense nerves, Marinette picked up the Valentine’s card and signed her name. It was a neat box, made of the iconic Valentine’s Day colors of pink and red and labeled with the Dupein Chang’s bakery logo. Inside the box contained a poem on the lid and 12 personally decorated macarons. Marinette specially decorated the entire box for the captor of her heart.
“Alya,” Marinette turned to her with the box in hand. “What if he...what if he doesn’t get it? Just like last time...Dark Cupid showed up and well, things got complicated.”
In all honesty, Alya didn’t know what could happen. Akumas were popping of all over Paris, of course, Lady Bug and Chat Noir were always there to save the day. Although, it seemed that the akumas were getting harder and harder to defeat. Nevertheless, being Marinette’s best friend, Alya assured it would all be fine.
“Don’t even think about it. You’re gonna be fine.”
Mustering all the courage she had, Marinette approached the park. There he was, with all of their friends, sitting on a red and white checkered blanket. Alya walked up behind her and patted her shoulder, offering an encouraging wink. She then proceeded to sit next to Nino, who sat next to Adrien.
I...can do this…
Marinette plastered a cheerful smile on her face and walked to the chattering group of friends. She cleared her throat, causing all the others to draw their attention to her.
“U-um. Adrien? Can I speak to you?” A bashful pink tint dusted her pale face.
The girls in the group widened their eyes in shock. Marinetter looked up from her feet, to see everyone staring at her, including Adrien.
“Oh I’m sorry Marinette. Adrien can’t join you right now, we’re in the middle of a very intense conversation of how tiring being on a set can be. I was once hand picked off the street for a commercial in Bollywood you know.”
It was time for Marinette’s eyes to widen at the girl sitting next to Adrien. “Oh, Lila? What are you doing here?”
“Didn’t you know? I just returned from my trip and my dear friend Adrien here invited me to this lovely Valentine’s picnic. It was so nice of you to plan this,” She paused, narrowing her eyes and smiling just sickly sweet enough for Marinette to notice, “Marinette.”
Marinette opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by Lila.
“As I said. Adrien is busy talking to me, but maybe you two can speak another time.” Only to fuel Marinette’s anger more, Lila smiled and placed a hand on top of Adrien’s, to which he quirked a brow. Marinette looked to Adrien, searching if he would have a say against Lila’s horrid acting.
With an almost pleading look Marinette searched Adrien’s face for any sign of recognition. He was the only other person who fully believed Lila was a total liar. If anyone could see through the second rate, histrionic actress it would be him. Marinette let her eyes linger merely a second more before concluding their conversation. “Oh. Alright, talk to you later Adrien.”
Seeing Marinette’s hopeful look turn to disappointment, Adrien moved his hand away from Lila’s.
“Um, actually Lila, we can continue this conversation later. Marinette wouldn’t interrupt unless there was something important to discuss.” He offered her a small smile. “What were you saying Marinette?”
“Uh, uh, right. Can we speak somewhere private?” Marinette stammered.
“Sure.” He smiled.
As Marinette and Adrien walked to the far side of the park Lila glared. She stood up, gaining the attention from the class, and excused herself from the picnic, making up some shallow excuse that she had a meeting with someone very important.
Once they were at the nearest treeline of the park and out of earshot of everyone else Adrien stopped to sit on a bench. He patted the spot next to him, gesturing Marinette to sit. Marinette starred, and smiled with a blush. She joined him on the bench as well.
“What was it you had to tell me?”
Taking in another shaky breath Marinette braced herself. She looked up into his eyes. His wonderful perfectly green eyes. Was there anything more beautiful than the pear colored spheres that faded to a saturated chartreuse? Sitting right under the gorgeously colored field of blonde tresses that shaped his perfect model structured face. Oh well of course, he’s a model.
No wonder he’s a model. He’s gorgeous. Oh...oh my. We’re so close. I….I don’t think we have ever been this close before. Oh...his...lips. They’re right there.
Marrinette’s eyes flicked from his eyes to his lips. Perfectly shaped, apricot shaded lips. If she was allowed, Marinette could stare at them forever, but of course that would be rude. Wait. How long had she been staring? Her eyes darted to his perfect peridot eyes.
“Uh, Marinette? You’re staring. Is everything okay?”
“What? Staring? At you? Aha! Why would I stare at you? Wait not well of course I would stare at you. You’re gorgeous! Uh, I mean! You’re funny! Yeah...ehe...um.” Inwardly she was not only cringing at the catastrophic monologue she delivered but wished she could disappear for it as well. Adrien only smiled at her and chuckled. “You’re the funny one Marinette. Anyway you wanted to tell me something?”
“O-oh. Right. Well, you see. Adrien,” She paused and looked at the space between them. “I know that when we first met, I was very very rude to you. I,” She paused with a look of resignation. “I still remember the day we first met actually. It was raining and you offered me your umbrella. Up until that point, I thought you were some stuck up rich kid that only wanted to be friends with Chloe.” A small smile formed at her face at the fond memory.
Adrien laughed and shook his head. “I remember that. You thought that I put the gum on your seat, when in reality I was just trying to take it off. I’m a good guy you know.” He winked.
“U-uh.” Marinette was frozen. Her heart sped up and she could hear it in her ears. “Y-yeah. Well, anyway. Since that day our friendship has grown into something,” She paused, not quite sure how to explain it. Ever since that day, Adrien was someone she could talk to. Someone she could trust with any problem that she had. Well, that was only true when she talked to him as Adrien, her friend and not Adrien, her crush. Nonetheless, Adrien became someone near and dear to her heart, in more ways than one. There were so many moments between them that it seemed like he felt the same thing as Marinette. Maybe, he did?
“Amazing?” Adrien finished for her.
With a soft smile and a nod of her head Marinette agreed. “This friendship. I’m so glad that we have it. Um, Adrien. I guess what I’m trying to say is. I cherish our friendship so much and–”
“I cherish our friendship too Marinette! I’m honestly so lucky to have a friend like you. You know, everyone says that when a girl and a guy become friends, there’s always a romantic feeling between the two. Well I’ll tell you what. There is no other girl in this world that I rather share such strong a platonic love for. There’s no better way to express how much you love someone than on La Saint-Valentin, so with that said, I love you Marinette” The poor girl’s heart stopped and shattered to pieces. “You’re one of my best friends.”
Marinette’s eyes widened. One of his….best friends? Of course. There was no way Adrien, THE Adrien Agreste could see her, Marinette duPain Cheng as anything else other than a friend. She looked to the ground, in an attempt to mask the tears beginning to prick her eyes. “I just wanted you to know Adrien. In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m glad to have you as my friend. I just wanted to pull you aside and let you know. I never take you for granted. You, Alya, and Nino mean the world to me.” She forced a smile and squeezed his hand.
In shock at the sudden touch of affection Adrien’s eyes widened. He glanced at the hand Marinette was still holding. A small smile found its way to his face. Suddenly, he engulfed Marinette in a hug. To her surprise, she hugged him back as well. In all honesty, Marinette would rather have been hugging Adrien as her friend, who loved her platonically, than as Adrien, her crush, who she might have jeopardized a relationship with if she confessed her true feelings. Maybe, things were better off like this….
Assured that her heart would explode if she continued to hug the boy, Marinette pulled away. “This is for you.” She somehow remembered that there was a box of personally made macarons sitting behind her. Bringing it forward she delicately placed them in his hands. “To remind you how much you mean to me.” Stunned in awe at the delicious treats in front him, Adrien nearly forgot his manners. “I-I. Thank you Marinette!”
With a tight lipped smile she replied, “Mmhmm. Oh and, don’t open them until you get home. They’re just for you.”
“O-of course. Thank you Marinette.” He took the box and offered her an appreciative smile. Adrien stood up with the box in one hand, then with his other held it out for Marinette to take.
Marinette stared at his open palm, facing her. She reached out to take it, but hesitated. “Actually, I wanted to address Nino and Alya in private as well. On your way back, could you tell Alya to meet me here? I want to let her know how much I appreciate her too.”
Adrien beamed at Marinette, box of macarons in hand. “I will!”
Watching the love her life walk away, taking with him her confidence and confession, will forever be embedded into Marinette’s mind for the rest of her life. Why was love so complicated? Why did she decide today was the day her heart would be locked up forever?
Intently staring into the distance Marinette didn’t notice Alya sitting next to her until she touched her arm and spoke. “Hey, what happened? Adrien came back super happy and said you wanted to talk to me.”
Marinette looked Alya with the saddest, tear filled, blue bell eyes. Alya only needed one look at her best friend’s glum face to tell things did not go according to plan. “Oh girl what happened?”
As soon as Alya’s arms wrapped around Marinette, the poor girl broke. “Oh Alya! I..he..Adrien.” She could barely choke out words between her muffled sobs. “He…..said he loved me.”
Suddenly Alya held her at arms length and stared her down. “Okay what?”
Marinette held back a sob and explained everything, from the moment they sat down to the moment Adrien’s face lit up with the biggest smile at the sight of the specially made box. After hearing the totally failed, and entirely misunderstood, confession Alya hugged Marinette again. “I’m sorry girl. Well, at least you heard him say ‘I love you’.” Alya stifled a chuckle.
Marinette let out a breathy laugh. “Is that supposed to help me feel better Alya?”
Her best friend chuckled. “A little?”
Marinette laughed. “Okay well it kinda didn’t.”
Their nearly tender moment was ruined by a scream. Both girls sat up and looked at the picnic blanket where all their friends resided. Lila came running into the park, an akuma in tow.
Adrien and Nino came running towards the girls. Nino grabbed Alya’s hand and pulled her off the bench, Adrien doing the same with Marinette.
“C’mon! Let’s go!” Nino exclaimed.
“Oh no way! Ladybug is going to show up. We gotta follow the akuma!” Alya then took a sharp turn and dragged Nino with her.
“Oh come on!” Nino exclaimed.
Marinette’s stare went down her arm to her hand, that was being held by Adrien’s. Her gaze followed up his arm to his face. Oh his delicate face. His eyebrows wear so tightly knit together. He was so focused. As if his only goal was to keep her out of harm’s way. His fingers were intertwined with hers. His grip was taut, and there was no intent of letting her go. If Marinette hadn’t gotten her heart broken in the most friendzone way possible, she might have enjoyed this. Also, if there wasn’t an akuma running around terrorizing the city she might have relished in this moment. If Marinette were not Ladybug, she might have allowed Adrien to whisk her off to some unknown destination away from the akuma, but alas she was still Ladybug and she still had a city to protect. Had Adrien not abruptly stopped and tugged them into an alleyway, Marinette would have been lost in thought.
Adrien abruptly grasped her shoulders and in a stern voice she had never heard before he spoke. “Marinette. Stay here. I’ll make sure the others got to safety.” He began to run out of the alley.
Blinking out her haze she asked, “What about you?”
Turning to her he replied, “Don’t worry. I’ll be okay. I’ll find you after! Stay out of sight!”
With that, and a confident smile, he left. The desiderium Marinette felt was quickly replaced with determination and focus. “Tikki!” She opened her bag.
The little red kwami popped out of the handbag and looked up at Marinette. “We gotta help Paris. Tikki, spots on!”

Please don’t tell me NONE of y’all see that
Master Fu and Marianne LITERALLY parrallel Marinette and Adrien, both appearance wise and personality wise. Think about it; Marianne and Adrien both have blonde hair and bright green eyes, and Master Fu and Marrinette both have (had) black hair (I mean, The flash black was in black and white but I’m pretty sure his hair was black) and both Asian. Marrinette and fu like to think ahead and play it safe: they both try and think of a sane and collective plan. (Marrinette in battle, Fu when they had to run away) Meanwhile, Adrien and Marianne are both ACTION. Marianne insisted on staying to fight despite the obvious consequences, and in battle Adrien never really thinks ahead before doing something. Idk how this is significant but it might mean Marianne was actually Chat noir and Fu ladybug which also means someone needs to draw this right now.

Chloé Bourgeois Loves Ivan?
Chloé Bourgeois was elated when her best friend was to begin attending her school. Adrien was finally going to be back in her life, and everything could now get back to normal.
Except, it couldn’t.
She loved him, and knew from the way he spoke to her on the phone and texted her short sentences that he didn’t feel that towards her. So, she’d given up while he was away. It wasn’t like she’d be able to enjoy a relationship with him while he was locked away, doing nothing but modeling and practicing piano.
And, in that period away from him, she’d found Ivan.
Ivan Bruel was nothing special when compared to the world around Chloé. He was brutish, emotionally stunted, and did nothing to draw her eyes to him. But, there he was, gaining her attention.
It had started during the break before Adrien was to start school. Ivan was at the park, watching makeshift bands play for pocket change. All in all, not a very Chloé Bourgeois scene.
Yet, there she went, walking with a recently acquired stand in friend, Sabrina. They’d heard the so called ‘music’ from a street away, and went to find out what all the commotion was. Finding the scene sent Chloé into a rant about ‘poor people music’ and ‘unrefined noise clogging the streets’ on instinct.
Ivan, who had been thoroughly enjoying it before Chloé showed up, chasing off the musicians with her nasty attitude, didn’t respond well.
To say he put her in her place was putting it mildly. Her face went beet red as she stamped her foot, and pulled a temper tantrum like never before. This nobody didn’t know who he was talking to. She was Chloé Bourgeois! This was ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous!
He didn’t even care when she got mad, just walked off to find a new place to listen to music, leaving Sabrina and Chloé gasping after him.
After that, Chloé couldn’t stop thinking about it. She’d learned his name from Sabrina, who’d stalked him online for a total of forty-two minutes in order to gather ammunition. They were going to destroy him.
A few days later, they got their chance.
Jagged Stone was holding a charity concert in downtown Paris, and Ivan had posted he was going with a few friends. Chloé grinned. She would show up and make him grovel at her feet, and revel in his apology. Chloé Bourgeois did not go down without a fight.
Chloé told Sabrina to stay at the hotel, keeping a bath ready for her, and dressed in her finest HBIC outfit. She marched down to the concert, and prepared to hand this boy’s butt to him on a silver platter.
She was mad, no, enraged. This was the first real time anyone had stood up to her, and it was maddening.
It took Chloé twenty minutes of moving through the crowd and pushing past people to find him, and when she did, she felt everything welling up inside her.
It was all too much.
Chloé didn’t know what was happening as she stood there, breathing uneven and face hot. She felt like crying, but she wasn’t sad. She was angry! This was her chance to knock some sense into him, so why couldn’t she move?
The noise around her was loud, consuming, and the bodies shoving into her made her nauseous. She swallowed hard, and looked back to where she’d seen Ivan. He was still there, but now, he was smiling.
Chloé’s breath caught in her throat. She knew that smile. It was pure happiness personified, and shoved images of Adrien into her head. She couldn’t breathe.
Ivan looked so happy. She
She
She
Chloé couldn’t ruin that.
She gasped air inwards, and pushed herself against the wall, grounding herself. She could breathe again.
Ivan saw her then, smile dropping, and Chloé almost frowned at it, wanting it to return. He looked scared, and Chloé was sure he’d found out who she was, or had at least picked up on the fact that she was mad.
She stared at her feet, breathing hard, and tried to calm down. The music was too loud, the people were too much, her skin was on fire, Ivan was staring at her. She’d never felt this...this...whatever this was. She needed to get out of there, now.
“Are you alright?” Ivan was standing before her, face pink. She tensed, and then let the pieces of her mask slide into place best she could.
“Of course I’m alright! And you! How dare you speak to me!”
“I’m sorry, okay! I didn’t mean to get so angry the other day.” The look on Ivan’s face made her want to stop, to reevaluate everything she’d ever done. He was like a kicked puppy.
“Well, you should be.” There was no venom in her voice, and Ivan looked at her, picking up on it. “Whatever, not like it’s a big deal. Just don’t do it again! I have better places to be on a Saturday night, Ivan!”
Chloé turned to storm away, to reclaim her pride. “You know my name?”
“No, I don’t. Why would I need to know your name? Ridiculous!” Chloé stormed off before he could say anything else.
She’d never admit it, but when Chloé went to bed that night, she still couldn’t shake the panicky feeling in her chest when she remembered Ivan’s face as he smiled.

For the 16 prompts: Human Kwamis.
“So, you mean to tell me that your parents just thought I was an American friend who came to visit, and they just let me sleepover last night?”
“Yep, that’s about right. I had to think of something on the spot, and it seemed like the best excuse.” Marinette spins in her chair to face Tikki. She’s laying on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. Or more accurately, looking at her hands which she raised upwards.
Her new, human hands.
“I’ll say,” Tikki lets out. She drops her hands and sits up, looking in awe at how her knees bend to help support her. “I wonder if they’ll force me to go to school with you today.”
“Probably not. But, I’ll take you with me in case I need to transform.” Marinette smiles. “I can finally introduce you to my friends!”
“I hope I don’t get assigned homework,” Tikki mumbles out. She props her head on her knees, the bundle of red hair falling over her face. She blows it away, only for the locks to fall once more in front of her. “Who knew an akuma could be this troublesome? I’m surprised that akuma turned Plagg and I into humans.”
“Plagg?”
“Chat Noir’s kwami,” Tikki reminds her. Marinette nods, a remembrance of the kwami briefly flashing through her mind on the one odd occasion she met him.
“Do you think we can save the day?” Marinette questions. “I mean, once the akuma hit us, we couldn’t even fight properly. We had to escape and detransform while the akuma ran away to do who knows what.”
“It was just from the change in us. Once the kwami is affected, the holder and Miraculous get affected too. I’m sure once we transform again our bodies will relax and we can properly work together.”
“Hopefully. Until then, I guess we’ll just have to work around this and get that akuma before he destroys Paris.” Marinette stands up, getting a glance of the time on her phone.
“Oh no!” she shrieks out. “We have ten minutes before class starts! Quick, get changed!”
“Into what?” Tikki asks, gazing down at her pajamas, which really was Marinette’s that she had lent her last night. When she had parted from Marinette after detransforming and found herself in a human body, Tikki had also found herself lacking much on her, a kwami not wearing clothes leading to a teenage girl, also not wearing clothes.
“Just borrow something of mine. I have more than enough outfits to wear.” Marinette points to her closet, rushing around and digging in drawers to find an outfit for herself. Grabbing hair ties, she hurriedly starts separating her hair. It was hard enough getting ready on her own, but geez was it hard when she was with someone who until yesterday didn’t know how to put on a shirt.
“Maybe I’ll try on a Marinette exclusive!” Tikki exclaims, drawing a laugh from Marinette.
“Good luck finding one not fit for a dinner party.”
With a flourish, Tikki opens the closet doors and runs her hands over the hanging objects, searching for anything. Something comfortable was her first concern, with something easy to throw on her next. Tikki was of course, only kwami.
“Oh boy, we’re gonna be late.” Marinette tosses on her shirt and tries to tug up her jeans in the same breath, stumbling all over her room in an attempt to stay balanced. Finding the first pair of shoes she can, she plops down on the ground and slips them on, hoping their teacher will be late so she’ll have the opportunity to squeeze in next to Alya in peace and place Tikki in the free desks in the back.
“Is this how you wear this?” Tikki asks, struggling with the button on the jeans she picked out.
“Tikki, those are backwards,” Marinette says, shoes slung on and running over to help. She helps her into the jeans correctly, and Tikki manages to slip on a shirt quite well, although it does take some time slipping on a pair of sneakers for her.
“This is uncomfortable!” she groans out, stamping her foot in protest after Marinette’s tied the laces. Hatch leading downstairs open, Marinette rushes down with her bag, beckoning Tikki to follow.
“You can complain later! Right now, we need to run!”
They just barely make it to the school doors, slipping in just as the first bell rings, sounding out a last-minute warning to any students loitering outside of their classrooms. Bouncing up the stairs, Tikki huffs after Marinette, wondering how anyone could have enough stamina to sprint down the street and bounce upstairs without taking a moment’s pause to breathe.
“Here!” Marinette yells out, bouncing through the doors just as the bell rings out. She leans over with her hands placed on her knees, huffing and puffing out an excuse for Tikki, who’s standing behind her, looking very similar and running a thousand thoughts in her mind.
Why can’t I just rest in Marinette’s backpack? Why do I have to do this terrible punishment? Why do humans like to bring this pain onto themselves?
“-so, since she’s from America, I thought it’d be cool to let her see how France schools are, and- “
“Marinette that’s enough. Have Tikki sit in the back, and please bring out your homework.”
Marinette nods, giving Tikki a smile before she goes to her seat. As Tikki walks up the stairs, she can feel the stares of the people Marinette has told her about time and time again, the most dramatic and complicated class of teenagers she’s ever known.
What she doesn’t expect, however, is the student sitting at her desk as well, leaning back in his chair.
“Plagg?” she hisses out, making sure not to draw attention.
“What’s up, Sugarcube?” he asks cheekily, leaning in to rest his arms on the table. He pats the spot next to him, gesturing for her to sit down. “Looks like my holder wasn’t the only one to bring their kwami to school.”
“Lower your voice,” Tikki says, sitting down and casting him a look. She nervously checks if any classmates are listening but finds them drawn into the class discussion, notebooks out and pencils scratching onto the paper. Even Marinette’s head is bowed, not a single glance thrown her way. “I thought I told you not to call me that.”
“Have been since it was invented. Doesn’t mean it gets old, though.” Plagg chuckles, pleased to be reunited with the kwami after so long apart. “So, what’s the lie Marinette used to convince her parents?”
“Online friend. What about you and Adrien?”
“Modeling friend he met while traveling.”
“Modeling? That’s hard to believe,” Tikki teases, earning a slight shove from Plagg.
“So, quite a situation, huh?” he asks, tapping his fingers on the desk. “There’s no way they won’t figure out their identities now.”
“They’ll be fine. Marinette is the most levelheaded person I know.”
“Really?” Plagg throws her a glance.
“Okay, so maybe not the most. But, she’ll handle this better than she would have a few months ago. I trust she won’t freak out as much once she finds out who’s behind the mask.”
“Can’t say the same for Adrien.” Plagg looks over at him, blond hair bouncing every time he raises his hand to answer a question. “The kid’s gonna lose his marbles. He adores Ladybug. I didn’t tell you last time we met, but he has this huge poster in his room, just absolutely the biggest thing, and- “
“Plagg, Marinette has nearly every picture of Adrien known to man in her room.”
“And you’re sure she’ll handle this well?”
“Of course. Trust me! I’m lucky, you know.”
“Yeah? Well, I’m not feeling very lucky right now.”
“Plagg? Tikki?” the teacher calls from the front of the classroom. “I understand you two are guests, but please be mindful of your voices. Otherwise, I’ll have you switch with Adrien and Marinette and partake in the class.”
“Sorry, Madame,” both let out in unison, feeling the gaze of the classroom burn. As Tikki lets her eyes linger on the teacher, she flickers them over to spot Marinette and Adrien. Both are locked in a staredown, silently having a conversation.
In tandem, both throw their heads back to look at Tikki and Plagg, before darting back to each other.
In a heartbeat, it all changes.
Marinette shrieks, clapping her hands over her face and immediately standing up.
“Can I please go to the bathroom?” she asks, voice muffled as her hands are still clamped over her mouth.
Adrien stands up as well, pushing his chair back with a loud screech and looking the most disheveled he’s ever looked in all of his fourteen years spent modeling.
“May I as well?” he asks, voice high pitched and on the verge of cracking. He clears his voice, shifting from one foot to the other.
Their teacher gazes at them confused, one part wanting to ask questions but the other all too tired for something this early in the morning.
“Be back quickly. We’re starting a new chapter when you two return.” She waves a hand, and both bolt for the door, awkwardly stopping once both hands have touched the doorknob. The class observes, eyeing the two as if they’re in a drama.
“You first,” Adrien offers, stepping back.
“No, no, you first.”
“Don’t be silly, my L- Marinette.”
“No, I really think you should open the door.“
“You sure? I really think it’d be best if- “
“Someone open the damn door,” Alya interjects, prompting a harsh look from her teacher but no scolding. Weakly, Marinette opens it, pushing herself through with the force of a thousand men. Adrien follows, feet pounding on the ground.
The class looks at the door in silence, wondering in collect agreement if jumping out of their seats to follow them would be a good idea.
“Class, your classwork. I know you’re all curious, but a grade is much more important right now.”
Sighing, the class turns to their class partner, discussing the passage in the textbook they just read and jotting down new notes. Their teacher sits down pleased, then opens up her email.
LMAO y’all are not gonna BELIEVE what just happened, she starts out her message, addressing it to the other teachers at the school.
“So, I guess they’ve figured it out,” Plagg says, looking at Tikki.
“You know, they’re going in the wrong direction of the bathrooms.”
“You really think they’re going to the bathrooms?”
Tikki sighs, putting her elbow on the table and placing her head in her open hand.
“No, not really,” she says. “Anyways, should we think up plans for defeating that kwami?”
“Well, we have nothing better to do. Might as well.”
“That’s the spirit, Plagg.”
