In the true story, BAFTA winner Scott, also coming off rave reviews for All Of Us Strangers, is set to play Group Captain James Stagg, the Allies’ Chief Meteorologist whose job it was to inform Supreme Commander General Eisenhower of weather conditions that would make-or-break their Normandy invasion. The decision-making was critical in the fate of the war and the course of history.
Anthony Maras (Hotel Mumbai) will direct the ticking-clock thriller, which is due to start shooting in the UK this September. Additional casting is underway, with Studiocanal handling world sales.
Olivier award-winner David Haig and Maras wrote the screenplay based on Haig’s critically lauded play, which ran in London’s West End before going on to be performed for the late Queen Elizabeth II and world leaders to mark the D-Day 75th anniversary in 2019. The official synopsis reads: “In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element—the British weather. Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Andrew Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.” Haig’s play explores the personal and military stresses on Stagg and how tensions grew between the teams with different weather forecasts for the date of the proposed D-Day. The film will concentrate on the pressure-cooker of the decision-making but also capture the scale of the landings. Studiocanal previously had commercial and critical success with WWII story The Imitation Game while Working Title similarly scored box office and Oscar recognition with WWII film Darkest Hour.

Is it really Cannes Film Festival without Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s red carpet magic? The Cannes veteran, a fixture among Bollywood celebrities at the festival, graced the red carpet at the screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” on Thursday. Representing the beauty brand L’Oreal Paris, Aishwarya dazzled the French Riviera in a dramatic black-and-white gown with balloon sleeves and a touch of sparkle, designed by Falguni Shane Peacock. Her show-stopping ensemble was complemented by simple elegance: loosely tied hair and golden hoops. Notably, she was seen with a cast on her hand as she posed for photographs.

Earlier in the day, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan arrived in the French Riviera with her travel companion, daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. They received a warm welcome at Cannes with a bouquet and were spotted at Hotel Martinez. The duo was also seen at the Mumbai airport the previous night, with Aishwarya wearing an arm sling.

This year marks Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 22nd appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Over the years, the former Miss World has delivered some of the most memorable red carpet looks. Last year, she turned heads with a silver gown featuring a giant black bow and an even larger silver hood and train.
Aishwarya’s Cannes journey began in 2002, debuting on the red carpet in a Neeta Lulla saree and heavy gold jewelry for the premiere of her film “Devdas,” accompanied by co-star Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The following year, she served on the Cannes jury.
Joining Aishwarya at Cannes this year are fellow actors Aditi Rao Hydari, Shobita Dhulipala, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Kiara Advani. Urvashi Rautela has also shared pictures from the French Riviera, and “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” actress Deepti Sadhwani made her red carpet debut on Wednesday.

Bhandardara Camping: A Magical Night with Fireflies
Tumblr media
Bhandardara: A Slice of Paradise
Bhandardara is nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range, about 185 kilometers from Mumbai. It's a picturesque destination, famous for its serene lakes, lush greenery, and historic Wilson Dam. What really drew me to Bhandardara, however, was the promise of camping under the starry sky and witnessing the mystical fireflies that light up the night.
The Perfect Location
The Bhandardara camping site was a bit off the beaten path but well worth the journey. The lush surroundings and tranquil ambiance make it an ideal destination for a camping adventure. Surrounded by towering hills and the pristine waters of the Bhandardara Dam, the location couldn't have been more perfect. Before setting off on this adventure, I did some research and found several packages available. I chose a package that included a tent for two, delicious meals, and a guided nature walk to see the fireflies. Bhandardara camping booking was a breeze with Universal Adventure and they have package options as well, and I was all set for a weekend of nature immersion.
A Date with Fireflies
Our camping adventure began late in the afternoon. The campsite was buzzing with excitement as fellow campers set up their tents. The real magic, though, awaited us in the night.
As the sun began to set, our group gathered for a guided nature walk in the nearby forest. Our guide was an expert, and he took us deep into the woods where the fireflies were known to shine their brightest. The sight of thousands of fireflies flickering like stars in the forest was nothing short of magical. It felt like I had stepped into a fairytale.
Campfire and Conversations
Back at the campsite, we gathered around a roaring campfire. Bhandardara camping location is a perfect one for stargazers. Under the starry night sky, we shared stories, laughter, and delicious food. The camp organizers had set up a bonfire and had even arranged some soothing music, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. Sitting there, with new friends and the sounds of nature all around, it was the perfect way to spend an evening.
Tumblr media
A Night in the Tent
The camping packages at Bhandardara usually include tents. The tents were comfortable and had all the essentials we needed. It was amazing to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a unique experience you won't get in a hotel room.
Sunrise Over Wilson Dam
Waking up to the tranquil beauty of Bhandardara was something I'll never forget. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm and golden glow over the Wilson Dam. The campsite offered a spectacular view, and I couldn't resist taking a few photographs to capture the moment. The Bhandardara camping packages also included a simple but delicious breakfast served with a view of the serene lake. There's something special about enjoying your morning coffee with the backdrop of nature's beauty, and Bhandardara offers just that.
>> How much does it cost to Bungee Jump in Kolad?
Exploring the Bhandardara Dam
After breakfast, we had some free time to explore the area. I couldn't resist taking a walk down to the Bhandardara Dam. The vast expanse of water surrounded by the rugged hills was a sight to behold. It's a great spot for some photos and to soak in the natural beauty. The beautiful experience of Bhandardara dam camping could not be explained in words.
Tips for Bhandardara Camping
Pack Warm: Evenings and mornings can be chilly, so make sure to pack warm clothes.
Insect Repellent: Don't forget to bring insect repellent to keep those pesky bugs away.
Sturdy Footwear: If you plan to take the nature walk to see the fireflies, wear comfortable and sturdy shoes.
Camera: Make sure to carry a camera to capture the beauty of Bhandardara.
>> What is the best time to visit Bhandardara?
In Conclusion
Bhandardara fireflies camping experience was nothing short of extraordinary. If you're looking for a unique and enchanting camping adventure in India, this is the place to be. The mesmerizing sight of fireflies, the stunning beauty of the dam, and the serene atmosphere will leave you with unforgettable memories. It's a perfect getaway from the chaos of city life.
I hope this travel blog has piqued your interest in Bhandardara and its camping offerings. I encourage you to take a trip there and experience the magic for yourself. Until next time, happy travels!

'Actor Andrew Scott has found his next project in the upcoming D-Day movie Pressure, Deadline reports. The actor has been on a dream run lately gathering acclaim with roles like Netflix’s Ripley and Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers. With the new role the Fleabag star will step into the shoes of real-life figure Group Captain James Stagg, the Allies’ Chief Meteorologist whose work would prove critical in the fate of the war and the course of history.
The feature will be helmed by Australian filmmaker Anthony Maras, whose previous works include Hotel Mumbai, based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, short film The Palace about the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, and Azadi, a film exploring the plight of Afghan refugees in Australian detention centers. Given the body of his work, he’ll certainly bring his vision articulating more humane aspects of war and terror to this D-Day story.
What’s ‘Pressure’ About?
Maras co-wrote the screenplay with David Haig, based on Haig’s critically lauded play. Filming will begin in the UK this September, while additional casting is underway. Per the synopsis, the film will follow the events of seventy-two hours leading up to D-Day, while all the plans are in place except the unpredictable British weather. Scott plays Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg, who is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history. The wrong decision can devastate the whole operation while a delay can risk German intelligence catching on. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.
Haig’s play explores Stagg’s personal and military stress and focuses on how the tension between the teams grows with different weather forecasts for the date of the proposed D-Day. Maras aims to capture not only the pressure-cooker of the decision-making but also the scale of the landings. The thrilling premise will certainly keep the audience glued to their seats while creating a compelling war drama.
Scott has a career spanning decades in theatre, TV, and movies with credits like Fleabag, Pride, Spectre, and war drama 1917. He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his starring role in Haig’s romantic drama film All of Us Strangers, where he starred opposite Paul Mescal. He also received a Primetime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actor category for his villainous turn in the psychological thriller miniseries Ripley.
No release date has been announced for Pressure, yet…'
