Raws of SV02 up on twitter, featuring surprisingly a fair bit on Violet's background off the bat, narrated via Clavell explaining it to the teachers and Roto-jii explaining it to Arven.

So yeah, Violet is basically an even more fucked up and tragic version of Don Quixote.

He was born to rich parents who had the servants cater to his every whim, said servants being instructed to refer to him as "your highness" and not break character. This led him to honestly believe that he was actual royalty and not just rich.

Only the butler eventually went, "well, we're setting this poor child up for failure once he gets out into the real world" so he tried to slowly ease Violet out of the prince mentality without just smashing it wide open and potentially breaking the kid's brain. Violet genuinely loved the butler, but of course shit has to go wrong and the butler died before finishing the deprogramming process.

The Langs then proceeded to fuck up their kid further by pouring money into developing an AI that would mimic the butler's personality as close as possible. The AI was then uploaded into a Rotom phone, giving birth to Roto-jii and wow that is really, really some Black Mirror shit.
