Huh, according to this tweet, all the online manga on the corocoro site are on a ranking system, with SV14 being ranked 4th in general and 1st in battle for this week despite it only being out for only a day so far. That Kindle sale must've really helped! Looks like there's a 'like' button at the end of the pages, so give it a hit to show your support!

The Kindle sale in Japan is over (only lasted a day or two), but in that time frame, Pokespe volumes took up 42 slots of Kindle's top 50 shonen manga sales.

I do really like this bit on the Ranma Fridge page that the reason why Akane is ostensibly the weakest fighter in the main cast is because she's on a consciously self-imposed handicap for almost the entire series.

There are implications that the original Tendo fighting style actually revolves around traditional samurai weaponry, and the few times Akane is seen wielding weapons she's actually really good with them.

Thing is that she (rightfully) hates Kuno so goddamn much that she probably switched to pure hand to hand in an attempt to distance herself from him, but the change was done when she just started high school so it hasn't been that long. She got good enough fast to effortlessly mow down waves of mooks, but she obviously struggles against anyone who has actually trained in their current style since childhood.

Oh dear, Yamamoto admitted that it takes awhile to draw Miraidon. This month's release apparently features the bike 'mon a lot and he almost didn't finish the manuscript on time.

There were three things that got me curious enough to try out Xenoblade Chronicles 3 way after it came out despite the fact that I'm not a big JRPG player and I knew absolutely nothing about the franchise: 1) the kickass music playing during its Tetris 99 run, 2) a lot of people online favorably comparing Legends: Arceus (which I just finished) to it, and the biggest of all 3) the Teal Mask DLC just released and a bunch of people on Twitter were editing Kieran's head onto N's and I just HAD to see what that guy's deal was.

Due to the nature of the publication being a boys' magazine, PokéSpe heroines from BW onwards have tended to be portrayed as supporting the male protagonist, so departing from that was an important element in creating Scarlet's character. Isn't Platinum the forerunner? So, happy birthday, girl.

Ha, so he acknowledged that the ladies were playing second fiddle to the guys for a long while now and that Scarlet was a deliberate attempt to change things up. Glad to see it!

quick summary of this month's PokeSpe SWSH, courtesy of Dogasu!

Violet is getting closer to the Star-Dan’s Team Schedar base as wave after wave of grunts attack the young Trainer. The battles end up providing valuable experience for Violet’s Pokémon – they even enable his Mamebata to evolve into Exleg – but they’re starting to test Violet’s patience. He discovers the Star-Dan has a wanted poster of him out and so he comes up with a plan to trick them. Over on the base itself, meanwhile, Scarlet has arrived and finds a way to sneak in to have a face-to-face meeting with Meloco. Scarlet rejects the bodyguard job offer she was contacted about and then reminds Meloco of just how much better the Star-Dan was a year ago. Also, didn’t there used to be a bunch of Carbou on this base…? On her way out, Scarlet overhears some grunts talking about Violet’s approach and so she searches the area until she finds him. She asks Violet, who’s now wearing an academy uniform so he can pass under the Star-Dan’s radar, to hand over his Miradon, promising she’ll return it once she’s located the Calamitous Pokémon. When he doesn’t immediately hand it over she uses her Tamantula to tie him up then and takes it by force. Nelke and then Nemo catch up with Violet, free him, and wonder what to do about this Scarlet character. Later , in the Roast Desert, Peper is eagerly waiting for Violet to return when he hears his Miraidon approach. But who’s this riding on its back…?

Just remembered he usually adds in a Pokemon that represents the year's Zodiac animal (2024 is the dragon, so Miraidon worked out last time). Huh, 2025 is the snake, and I can't really think of a good Gen 9 mon for that? Unless Miraidon again as the Iron 'Serpent'.
