Actually wait ok i'm not done. i'm actually so serious abt this. I think that a large part of the reason i got attached to metroid when i was younger is because it was the first media i discovered where the main female character was allowed to look like this:

and like. people thought she was cool. BOYS thought she was cool and I had never seen boys think a female character was cool before, much less want to be like one. she had all these interesting traits that I had only ever seen in male characters (person of few words, calm and ruthless bounty hunter persona, highly respected for skill, her appearance isn't mentioned Ever, etc etc). and that was formative for me and my relationship to gender i think

modern rpgs ‘let the playable character actually be their own character who is equally as grounded in the world as the other characters’ challenge honestly like. it seems like there’s this assumption that adding too much background to a pc limits ‘player agency’ but that’s not what i personally want player agency to mean? if i wanted to create my own oc whole-cloth i would do that. i want to be told a story about someone who feels like a real person who i then have the chance to make my own through playing. i know some people really enjoy having things be totally open-ended but i am simply NOT that creative okay i need to be thrown a bone here 😭

Mutual maturation doesn't work with Leander or Vere. Leander is too greedy to get his hands on you as soon as possible. He wants to be the one drawing moans and sighs from your kiss bruised lips. homelander!daughter but she surprises him with her own costume for halloween. she got her other parent to make her own superhero persona and she has this ELABORATE backstory, even if she’s not a supe like him. he’s forced to sit on the couch with this dramatic diy stage setup, thinking it’s just a fashion show she does every so often, but he can just smell the excitement on his partner. she comes out all dressed up, but he doesn’t recognize who she’s supposed to be and then she reveals it!! SHES HIS LITTLE SIDE KICK FOR HALLOWEEN AHHHH

STOOOOOP that’s so cute!!! 😭 I love the buildup! the anticipation! the reveal! I love Homelander being allowed to have these sweet domestic little moments that hit him like a bulldozer to the chest.

one thing I did enjoy when I went to visit my Meatz last month was that I brought my bike with me for the first time and we went some bike jumps nearby their apartment which was really cool! But the best part of it was when I kept meeting locals at the jumps that would ask “So what brings you to [location]?” and I’d just get to point at Meatz and say “They did.”
