i’m salivating over my first ever haliween ahhhhhhhggggjtjekwldlcjwkwnf. anyways, i trust you implicitly, so i’m gonna do the random thing:
milky way + princess peach + the craft 👁️👄👁️
(ily 🦐)
Tumblr media
❀ Pairing: Witch!Yoongi x witch!f. reader
❀ Summary: When the red string of fate appears around your ankle, you have twelve days to find your fated partner or die. That’s how the spell works - that’s how fate has always run Her business. There is one, very inconvenient witch who keeps getting in your way, though, and you might just kill each other before your mark does.
❀ Word Count: 4,421
❀ Genre: Magical AU, Fate AU, a bit of angst, a bit of crack
❀ Rating: SWF
❀ Warnings: Talk of death!!! Reader thinks that she is going to die this entire fic, so she thinks about dying/makes jokes about dying a lot. At the end of the story, there are moments where she is sad and there are hints of depression because she is dying, but it’s not super intense and heavy. Language, Yoongi, and reader are both very stupid, the communication skills in this friend group are at ZERO.
❀ Published: Tuesday, October 3
❀ A/N: This is my first request filled for Haliween and I am so excited! This was so much fun to write and honestly, I was super inspired by Jade's ability to infuse humor in writing, so this is absolutely an ode to Jade. Inside my Halloween bag for you is… Yoongi, witches, and fate! This actually might be one of my favorite drabbles I’ve written all year if not all the time and I sort of wish this was a full one-shot with angst but I think it works sooo well this way. UNEDITED.
❀ Disclaimer: All members of BTS are faces and name claims for this story. This is entirely a work of fiction and by no means is meant to be a projection, judgment, or representation of real-life people. Any scenarios or representations of the people and places mentioned in works are not representative of real-life scenarios.

It’s raining the day that the red string of fate scorches your ankle. The pain is unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, sending you to your knees as you scream. At first, Jimin thinks you’re dying. He drops his mug of tea, rushing over to you as the porcelain shatters, dropping to the ground to pull you up by the shoulders.
You’re prone for a moment, eyes rolled back, voice straining as your entire body tenses, hellfire licking through you.
Then it’s gone. Like it never happened.
The mark leaves you panting in Jimin’s arms, whimpering lightly as you pull the leg of your jeans up with trembling hands to reveal a singular scarlet circle around your ankle. The mark tingles, leaving behind the memory of sudden pain, now cool to the touch.
“Holy shit,” Jimin whispers, staring at the mark. His eyes are wide when he looks down at you, lips trembling. “Twelve days.”
Twelve days. Twelve entire days to untangle you’re new fate and follow it to the witch meant for you, your other half. Twelve days to find them and meet your magical half. To be whole again.
Because in the world of witches, there are some of you born not complete. Some of you have another soul out there, burning with some of your magic. And when that magic is ready to become one, it tries to kill you.
Twelve days to reunite it.
Or, twelve days until you die.
DAY ONE
The day is a waste. Impeding doom does not inspire confidence in the probability of finding the witch who is supposed to be your other half. Hoseok offers a tarot spread, flipping cards and trying to untangle the path that will lead to your savior.
He frowns as he looks at his deck. The images and text on them are nearly faded entirely, a heirloom of his coven passed down through generations of family members. Hoseok knows them by touch, feel, and energy alone. Could read them in the dark, if he wanted to.
Hoseok glances up where you’re curled on the couch in a blanket, doing little spell work to figure out where your mystery half is. “Perhaps you should have Namjoon read tea leaves instead,” he offers. Hoseok shuffles the deck and puts it back in a wooden box. “The cards want you to figure it out yourself. Tea is less judgmental, perhaps.”
DAY TWO
Tea is not less judgmental. You stamp out of the tea shop, feeling stormy, energy crackling like lightning. Namjoon, unable to help, mentioned that perhaps you should seek help from Jungkook, who often sees the future in his drawings. It’s what led him to Jimin, after all.
Someone crashes into you, knocking you off balance. You yell as you go, too lost in thought to catch yourself with magic before you’re topping into the street and a puddle. Cursing, you look up at the stranger who has knocked you into a dirty hole filled with water.
“Are you serious?” you demand, gesturing to your legs as water seeps in. “Watch where you’re going!”
The man in front of you is covered in coffee. He looks up at you dripping in dark liquid, the front of his white shirt ruined and sticking to his chest. If you weren’t so impossibly angry, you might think he was cute. Long, black hair tucked behind his ears, keen feline eyes, a rosy mouth in a natural pout.
But you don’t think it’s cute. Especially when he says, “Me? You’re on the wrong side of the sidewalk!”
“There are no sides to the sidewalk!”
“Of course there is! If you’re walking north you should walk on the inside of the sidewalk, if you’re walking south, you should walk on the outside!”
“That makes no fucking sense!”
“Says the girl still sitting in a puddle instead of getting up and drying herself off!”
You make an angry sound, shoving yourself up from the puddle, sopping wet. “Have the day you deserve,” you snarl at him.
“Have fun with your wet pants.”
DAY THREE
Day three is spent at the library looking up ways to break the red string of fate around your ankle. There are tombs and tombs of ancient texts on the various iterations of the spell through different cultures and religions, but so far you have nothing to show for it.
Huffing and tossing another useless book onto your useless pile, you walk back to the dark stacks of the magical section of the library reserved for members of the covens in the city. It smells musty and dusty in the back, the air dank with the promise of rot. You make a mental note to tell Jisung at the front to please use an air freshening spell.
As you turn the corner of the shelves, someone makes you pull up short. The man from the day before is in front of you, flipping through a book. You blink in surprise. A witch. It shouldn’t surprise you - most of the townsfolk here are magic in one way or another. But it makes less sense that he was so angry about spilling his coffee when he could just whisk his fingers in the air and put it back in the cup.
You’re angry all over again, balling your fists in the aisle. You have half a mind to flick your fingers and through a book from the shelf at him, but the tome in his hands makes you pause. It’s the book you’re looking for.
The man snaps it shut and tucks it under his arm, continuing to look through the shelves.
“Um, where are you taking that?”
He turns with a soft expression, eyes wide. Then he sees you and immediately scowls, nose scrunching. “Oh. You. If you came here for new pants, the Target is across the street.”
“I’m looking for that book.”
“Well, this book is coming with me.”
“What do you need it for, huh?”
His face is impassive as he blinks twice. “For a bonfire, thank you.”
With that, he spins on his heel and walks down the aisle. You step after him, but he snaps and you feel a sharp tug in your stomach, like a pull in another direction. You blink and suddenly find yourself several aisles over, making you scream in anger.
“Did you just teleport me?!”
DAY FOUR
Spent listening to Hey Jude on repeat. And dumplings. So many dumplings that you may not make it to day twelve.
DAY FIVE
What a good day. You’ve made no progress, but you head home with a smile on your face nonetheless. Even though you will surely expire when the red string of fate eats you from the ankle up in seven days, you have at least one good memory before your untimely demise.
Autumn hangs cooly in the air. Your scarf is wrapped snuggly around your neck as you skip home, fresh on the memory of the Puddle Pusher’s face when you bought the last of the black flame candles at Shadow’s earlier that day.
Give me at least one, he’d said to you. You don’t need five.
Well, what if I mess up? You’d asked.
Then you’re a shitty witch.
Well, that had offended you, so you bought the white flame candles too, just in case. Bags full of candles for your little ritual, you skip home to try another trick in breaking the scarlet mark around your ankle. You’re not hopeful but you are happy to rub the salt in with the Puddle Pusher before your sweet farewell to the world.
Even if he did look very cute today.
DAY SIX
Morale is low. The ritual from the night before utterly failed and set off your sprinkler system in your apartment. As you spend the morning blasting hot gusts of wind from your hands and levitating several items throughout the home to air dry, you wonder what it will be like at the end.
The red string of fate is such a rare thing. When you were little, you may have thought it was romantic. Knowing there was someone out there for you that was your twin flame, your other half. A person connects to you by the cosmic power of the universe. Whose spellwork with your own could make you unstoppable.
Now you think it’s stupid. You don’t need anyone else to make you complete. You’ve learned that over several failed relationships and the lackluster dating life of this town. There’s no reason for you to need to follow this stupid mark to find the one person you can no longer live without.
Love is not worth dying for. If it is even love. You cannot imagine that the magic that flows through the world unseen but felt is so all-seeing and powerful that it knows who you should be with. That it can tell you what to do.
Day six sucks. And you spend it crying. Alone and forgotten, without your other half.
DAY SEVEN
Jungkook sifts through his drawings, chewing his lip. The hum of tattoo guns buzzes like a hive of angry bees behind you. You ignore the awful music blaring through the speakers and the man screaming behind the piercing curtain getting his nipples pierced.
“Don’t you have something for that?” you ask, jerking your thumb at the sniveling. “The man sounds like you’re castrating him.”
“Oh, that? Some people like the pain. However, it is Jin so he is actually hating every second of it.” You make a face but Jungkook doesn’t notice, shaking his head. “I’m sorry, dude. I don’t see or feel anything in any of these recent drawings of mine. I wish I could be of better assistance. There’s this guy who might be able to help, though. Taehyung?”
“Tae-who?”
“Here.” Jungkook scribbles an address in truly illegible handwriting. “Visit him on the full moon in..” He looks at his phone and makes a face with yikes written all over it. “Five days.”
“Jungkook, in five days I will be hours away from-” You make a choking sound and roll your eyes back into your head. When you look back at Jungkook, he’s not amused. “Death. Dead. Está muerto.”
“Yeah, I got that. Not funny.” He shoves the paper in your hand. “Look, he’s a really powerful seer. Just go.”
“Think he can tell me what to wear as I croak?”
Jungkook is still not amused by your jokes. He looks around you as the shop door chimes, lifting a hand. “Hey, Yoongi. Be with you in a second.” He looks back at you. “Have you considered asking around for anyone who has had one show up recently? It might help, you know?”
“No thanks. Don’t need any weirdos trying to get into my skivvies by lying about it. Thanks, though. I’ll look into this.” You lift the paper.
Turning around to leave, you stop dead in your tracks. Yoongi is standing near the front entrance of the door. He’s dressed in dark jeans and a flannel shirt, his hair tucked under a beanie. He looks soft, especially when his attention isn’t on you and glowering.
For a moment, you’re not mad at him and you don’t hate him on principle. You just admire the way his nose is a little bit red from the cold outside, and his general sense of wonder is… innocent. Gentle. Kind.
When he turns to look at you, as though he feels your staring, his face morphs from cherubic to devilish, curling his lip up at you. Your momentary lapse of judgment vanishes. “Here to get a tattoo of Number One Puddle Pusher?”
“I didn’t push you.”
“Who's to say you didn’t? Do you have CCTV evidence?”
Yoongi scoffs. “I should be checking CCTV to see if you’re stalking me.”
“Me? Stalking you? I got here first.”
“Do you have CCTV evidence?” he mocks, making a face.
With a huff, you blow by him, turning to Jungkook who looks between the two of you with wide eyes and a dubious expression. “Make his tattoo ugly.”
DAY EIGHT
Yoongi as it turns out is new in town. Instead of spending day eight doing like Jungkook suggested and putting out an APB on Facebook Marketplaces and Craigs List, you spend it looking up your mysterious mortal enemy only to find that… he’s entirely normal.
Most of the covens in town have a long history of ancestry connected to the town’s creation. Yoongi seems to have no such thing, having only moved there a year ago. You’ve never come across him, though it seems you have plenty of friends in common.
From his social media, you can tell only two things about him: he likes cats and takes the worst dad pictures. By worst, you mean silly little photographs of things you can only see a father taking. Somehow the angle is always just wrong or the captions are so simple that you find yourself smiling.
And then you remember whose photos you’re looking at and you fix your face with a scowl.
Tossing your phone onto the couch, you curse Yoongi. The Puddle Pusher.
DAY NINE
Spent crying.
DAY TEN
Spent crying even harder. And spent looking at Yoongi’s cat on social media, only to accidentally double tap and scream as you unlike the photo, and throw your phone across the apartment in terror.
You cry more after. And add buy a new phone on your to-do list.
DAY ELEVEN
You’re going to die. It’s inevitable. You spend the evening watching the stars with Jimin. You let Jungkook tattoo a smiley face on your foot. You drink lots of hard cider, and you fall asleep in a bed that feels too empty and the knowledge that you’ll no longer have to worry about filling it.
DAY TWELVE
Taehyung lives in the middle of Fuck All Nowhere. While you might not find that exactly on the map, it is only somewhat easy to find his creepy, draconic estate outside of town. Getting out of your car, you look up at the spiring mansion, sure that you’re going to see bats flying out of the top like an episode of Scooby Doo.
Alas, there are no bats there to greet you in your final few hours. "Where are the bats, dude?" you ask, walking up the lawn.
The house is something out of a creepy cartoon. Old, wooden stairs creek under your feet as you climb them. The front porch has a severe lean, making you take a precarious step toward the massive front door.
A knocker in the shape of a snarling gargoyle greets you. Tentatively, you reach your hand toward it. Just before your fingers brush the knocker, the door swings inward, creaking and shuttering as it does. You snatch your hand back and take a step away from it, heart racing.
No one is in the entryway. You stick your head inside, looking at the maximalist disaster that is the interior. There are gauche tapestries all over the walls and exotic, loud wallpaper. Statues, busts, and other carvings cover every surface, and the faint smell of cardamom hangs in the air.
“Hello?” you call. Your voice seems to echo in the house.
You hear footsteps. Your heart rate picks up, hoping to see the infamous Taehyung you’ve come for. Except you don’t, feeling confusion first followed by irritation. Of course Yoongi is standing in this strange home that’s full of popping energy and static.
“What are you doing here?” you demand.
Yoongi frowns. “You’re not Taehyung, right?”
“No! Do I look like him?”
“I don’t know what he looks like.”
“Well. I’m not.”
Both of you have a silent standoff, staring at the other. Yoongi looks tired, with dark circles under his eyes and his hair a little greasy. You feel a momentary pang of sympathy for him, feeling the same sort of restlessness and weariness tugging at your edges.
“What are you here for, then?” you ask if only to fill the silence stretching between you. “And why are you inside?”
“It’s cold outside. And the house felt like it wanted me to wait inside.”
“Okay. Well.”
He crosses his arms. “I’m here because I’m… looking for something.”
“Something that requires black flame candles?”
“No.” He looks you up and down. “What are you here for.”
“Trying to break something.”
He hums.
Eventually, you both sit down in the sitting room. Neither of you say anything to the other, sitting in… almost comfortable silence. You sit and stare at the clock on the wall, watching your time slip away.
Your knee starts pouncing. You take out your phone, spamming Jungkook. Trying to get him to call Taehyung, perhaps. He doesn’t answer, your nerves unsettling your stomach. Eating away at you.
An hour slips by. Then another.
Sweat starts to collect on the back of your neck. Each moment the minute hand tick tick ticks, you lose another minute. Another five. Another ten.
You don’t feel sick or deteriorating, but you know that as it reaches ten at night, you only have two hours left. A collection of 120 minutes for the rest of your life. Barely enough to drive back into town and say goodbye to your friends. To anyone who cares.
Overwhelmed with the impending sense of doom, you suddenly stand up, wiping your hands on your jeans. Inside feels insufferable, so full of tension. You need to breathe, to maybe look at the moon for a little. To… feel the wind for the last moment, now that it’s here.
“Where are you going?”
“Outside. I - um. I don’t think he’s coming and I… want to be outside.”
Yoongi nods. “Mind if I join you?”
The question is gentle. Soft. Like that time you saw him in Jungkook’s shop, face so gentle and kind, round and soft with wonder and something like hope. It urges you to nod, reserved to not spend the next two hours hating this man who has made the last twelve days of your life annoying.
Instead, you’ll spend it with this man who doesn’t know you, but who has colored the pages of your life for the last two weeks.
It’s strange. Before that day outside of Namjoon’s shop, you didn’t know who this person was. Now, you know a little bit. Not a lot, but enough.
There’s a hill behind Taehyung’s house that you walk out to. You both sit on it quietly, looking out at the world. This far out in the country, the stars blanket the sky in a thrilling map of constellations and sparkling lights. It’s beautiful. Nice.
A general melancholy seems to hang around Yoongi. You don’t know what it is he is looking for, but you sort of hope he finds it in the way that you’ve been unable to. If you have to lose tonight, you think that someone ought to win.
“What was your favorite moment of your life?” Yoongi asks out of nowhere. You glance at him to see him staring out at the sky, eyes unseeing. His fingers pull at the grass by his shoe, uprooting them absently. “Or something that you just remember being a really good memory?”
You pull your knees to your chest and set your chin atop them, thinking. You’ve had so much time to think this week about your favorite moments or the best parts of your life before it’s gone, and yet, you hadn’t thought too much about it.
“Maybe…” you grin, eyes unfocusing. “The first time I ever listened to Hey Jude. I had never listened to the Beatles and Jimin had it on vinyl and it was one of the last days of summer when we were younger and he put it on… we danced to it and had the coldest lemonade and those red white and blue popsicles. It was right after a breakup and… it was the first time I felt unfettered, reckless joy.”
You can remember the sweetness of the lemonade, the sticky fingers from the popsicle. The sound of the record, the way it hissed into silence at the end of the track, just the crackling vinyl chasing you out of the end of summer.
Turning to look at Yoongi, you ask, “What about you?”
“The first time I heard a piano. I was on vacation with my parents but I got lost at the hotel and I found this piano in the lobby. This guy was playing it so I just sat down next to him and listened. It was… I wasn’t afraid anymore, and I just waited there until the front desk told my parents they found me.”
You grin, feeling a sweet curl of joy spreading through you. “Do you play now?”
“Mhmm. I wish I had played more in the last few weeks. I was … busy.”
“Hmm. I wish I had done a lot of things recently. Instead, I fixated on something unchangeable.”
Silence falls between you. You check your phone for the time. You realize that there are only fifteen minutes left, your heart clenching painfully. You place the phone face down in the grass, sucking in a deep, shaking breath.
“You should go,” you murmur gently. He looks up at you, brows raised. “I uh - need to do something that I think should be done alone.”
He nods. “Me too.” Gets up slowly, dusting off his pants. Yoongi starts to turn away and hesitates, looking down at you. You look up and think that Yoongi might be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. Soft face against the cosmos, dark eyes that are swirling and unreadable. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
He lifts a shoulder. “For being a surprise in my life, I suppose. A change of pace.”
“You too.”
With a little wave of his hand, Yoongi walks down the hill back toward the house. You watch him go until he vanishes around the front and you are left alone, the sound of the crickets around you.
Turning back to the empty hills, you exhale. In a way, you’re okay. You think that maybe Yoongi is right - he was an unexpected and at times vexing surprise in your life, but it was fun. A least a little.
Gently, you lay back in the grass. You don’t know if it’s going to hurt when you go, but you want to be lying down just in case. Your hands tremble in the grass and you feel your throat constrict with the urge to cry. Not because you’re alone, not because you’re afraid, but because you think maybe… you should have just enjoyed life a little more than trying to defeat it the last two weeks.
A lifetime of forcing things into submission and for once, you couldn’t do it.
The minutes tick by. You try to calm your breathing. There’s no escaping the red string of fate now. Without your other half, you will cease to exist. There is no more road for you.
You think of the sweet taste of lemonade. The chorus of Hey Jude. The breeze coming in through the open door and the scent of the honeysuckle climbing the awning. You smile, feeling a tear slide down your face.
Shutting your eyes, you breathe in deep. You are ready.
DAY THIRTEEN
You frown. You keep breathing. You take in another deep breath, thinking that maybe you just… timed it wrong. Settling in, you keep yourself calm, fingers drumming on the floor. Any second now you’re going to die. The life force will flee your body. You will perish. Ashes and dust and all of that.
It doesn’t come. You crack an eye open, looking at the starry sky. The stars are still hanging and the moon is still shining. Suddenly you wonder if you’ve already died and this is the afterlife. Would you even know if you were dead?
Sitting up, you grab your phone and look at it. If there are phones in the afterlife, yours shows that it’s past midnight.
“Huh?” you whisper, tapping the screen. It looks real. Feels real. “Why am I not dead?”
Footsteps behind you make you look over your shoulder. Yoongi is storming up the hill, a look on his face like wonder and fury or something weirdly in between.
“What were you doing at Namjoon’s shop that day we ran into one another?”
“What?”
“The shop!” he yells, throwing his hands up, panting as he crests the hill. “What were you doing there?”
“Getting… a fortune read. Sort of.”
“And the library?”
“Researching how to break spells.”
“And Jungkook?” Yoongi’s voice trembles. You don’t follow, but you shrug a shoulder. “Same thing as when I went to Namjoon’s. Trying to use the future to help me find something.”
Yoongi crouches down and reaches for your ankle. You pull it back, yelling, “Hey, hands off, weirdo! I’m not into foot stuff!”
He grabs your jeans and pulls the hem up, despite your kicking. When he reveals the red mark around your ankle, he abruptly sits down and stares at you. You yank your foot from his grip, ripping your jeans back down and glaring. “What gives? Yeah, I have a red string of fate, whatever.”
Mutely, Yoongi sticks his foot toward you. He has on dirty Converse with gum stuck to the bottom of his shoe, and jeans on. “I’m more of a Hubba Bubba myself,” you note, eyeing his foot. “But thanks?”
“My ankle.”
You sit up straight, heart racing. Yoongi had been going to Namjoon that day. And then at the library. Even visiting Jungkook. And buying items for… breaking a spell at the magic shop. Now, he’s here, for a reason unbeknownst to you.
And you’re not dead.
You’re not dead.
Slowly, you reach over Yoongi’s foot. Your fingers are trembling as you grab the soft material of his jeans, fingers weak. Steeling yourself, you pull gently to reveal Yoongi’s ankle. You expect to see creamy, smooth skin, unmarked and well… ordinary.
Instead, you see a single red ring scarring his skin. A perfect red string of fate marking his skin forever, telling him that he belongs to someone. That someone equally belongs to him. That there is someone out there in the world just as stubborn to accept fate, just as cranky when inconvenienced, and who loves music just as much as you do.
You’re not dead, and Yoongi is looking at you with a smile that holds the world.
You’re not dead, and you share loud, joyful laughter with your red string of fate partner for the first time.
DAY 20
“Yeah,” Taehyung says, leaning back and self-satisfied. “I saw them finding each other at my house so I just left. Let fate do its thing, ya know?”
You roll your eyes. “Your house is fucking creepy but not in a cool way.”
Yoongi laces his fingers with yours. “Yeah man, where are the damn bats?”

A SEALED FATE: EMERALDS AND BLOOD - XII Soulmates and Sacrifices
Tumblr media
masterlist
e&b masterlist
notes: a quick chapter because it took me so long to upload that last one. <3
Namjoon was livid after Hoseok’s confession. Furious enough to almost run straight to their father. Not only had his older brother murdered a Lady for a lowly maid, but now he also planned on taking your hand in marriage!
It wasn't just Hoseok's actions toward Lady Pyke that concerned Namjoon. No, he knew their mother would become a very serious issue as well. The last thing Namjoon wanted or needed was to see the Queen make his brother suffer simply because he had fallen in love with a maid.
Namjoon lectured Hoseok for hours, hurling objects in his direction whenever the anger got out of control. “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t alert our father to your heinous activities!” he had yelled.
He wanted to slap the dreamy look off Hoseok’s face as he began to describe his love for you. His brother's obsession with you was revolting.
Namjoon’s first thought was that you must be a witch. Surely, you had given Hoseok some potion to make him fall irresistibly in love with you. It was the only explanation for how he could have fallen so hard in such a short amount of time.
He had intended to drag you from your chambers to question you the day after Hoseok’s confession, but you were mysteriously gone. That only fueled Namjoon’s suspicions further. Why would you run if you weren't guilty?
Namjoon confided in Seokjin about the alarming issue. They were closer than he was with the others, which made him feel comfortable revealing Hoseok’s secret. To Namjoon’s surprise, Seokjin did not have the horrified reaction he had expected. Instead, he appeared just as love-struck as Hoseok. “Did she put you under her spell too?” Namjoon asked angrily before storming out of the room.
Later that day, Namjoon visited the head healer to consult her about possible cures for the mysterious spell placed on his brothers. He did not receive the answer he was looking for. Instead, the healer recited information about soulmates.
“Sometimes, two souls are meant to be with each other,” she explained. “They’re intertwined. In their next life, those souls may become separated for a short while. When they finally meet again, they instantly attach to each other as they were meant to be. This results in what we call ‘love at first sight’.”
Namjoon didn’t believe it at first. He hid in the library for the remainder of the day, reading any books that even hinted at finding one's soulmate. He read about the imaginary red string of fate, about twin flames. Everything sounded wonderful - for a fairy tale.
But this was real life, and he couldn’t accept that his brothers were enraptured with you because of something as fantastical as a soulmate's connection. So, he returned to the healer and demanded any potions or herbs that could cure love spells. Reluctantly, she handed over a pouch full of strange, colored vials and leaves.
It was only when the elixirs and herbs resulted in nothing more than gas and headaches for his brothers that Namjoon began to entertain the idea of a possible soulmate. He still couldn't fully condone Hoseok’s actions, nor could he even begin to believe that it was truly a soulmate’s connection that caused such a change in Hoseok’s behavior.
What Namjoon did know, however, was that he loved his brothers. Now, his brothers were distressed that the "love of their life" had run off without even saying goodbye. He couldn't bear to see his brothers upset and hurting, even if it was over a lowly maid whom he did not trust.
He remained furious that you had rejected his brother so confidently. Wouldn’t a maid be grateful to leave behind a life of servitude? Driven by anger, he intended to storm down to the maid's quarters to question the other girls, hoping they might have some information about you. However, just as he was pulling his dark blue jacket over his shoulders, there was a knock at his door.
Tumblr media
Hoseok couldn't comprehend why you would leave him. He had been prepared to offer you a life of luxury that a lowly maid like you could only dream of. When he realized that you were nowhere to be found, he was livid.
Seokjin was equally distressed, having lost the chance to confess his own feelings before your sudden disappearance. Namjoon's explanation about soulmates only intensified their frustration. While his older brother did not seem to believe in the soul bond, he still seemed ready to accept it if he had to. Hoseok had only felt satisfaction for a moment, at the realization that he had been right all along. You were indeed his soulmate.
Hoseok had considered cornering the plump, red-haired maid that he had seen you interacting with countless times. Surely, she would know where you had run off to. Of course, he didn’t even have to travel down to her chambers to retrieve her.
Her lover had already exposed her actions in helping you escape, and now Hoseok was ready to take out his red-hot anger on the woman who had allowed you to slip away from him.
Tumblr media
Taehyung had always found blood fascinating. Its dark color, thick consistency, and metallic scent intrigued him in a way that nothing else did.
As a child, he used to hold other children down and bite them, delighting in the sight of blood trickling down their necks and staining their clothes. The crimson rivulets captivated him, sparking a lifelong obsession.
During his teenage years, he found his first and only love, a maid two years older than him who shared his fascination with blood. Her skin was the smoothest and palest he had ever seen. He loved dripping blood onto her bare chest, watching it form deep red streams down her bust. Sometimes, she would return the favor, enhancing their bond.
When she betrayed him, his love for blood twisted into something far more sinister. On his eighteenth birthday, he allowed himself to drink a goblet full of her blood. It was delicious, leaving him satisfied and feeling as though she had become a part of him. If he couldn’t have her in life, he would make her a part of him in death.
His obsession with blood led him to pursue a career in the military. As head commander of his kingdom’s army, he could torture and kill at will, indulging his morbid desires.
Naturally, he was thrilled to learn that his next victim not only was a lowly maid, but a lively one at that. The more jubilant they were in life, the louder they were right before death.
Tumblr media
Seokjin didn't care about the red-headed maid at all. All he wanted was you. His favorite childhood stories were those his mother told about a boy with a red string attached to his ring finger, leading him to his destined love.
For years, Seokjin had hoped that one day a similar string would appear on his own finger, guiding him to his true love. When he didn’t feel that connection with Lady Seong, whom he had loved deeply, he gave up on the idea of soulmates. Then, he met you.
When Namjoon mentioned what he had read and what the head healer had told him about soulmates, Seokjin was elated. But when Hoseok had revealed to him that you had run away, Seokjin’s elation turned to anger. How selfish of you to leave him when he had finally found the person he had been dreaming about for so long.
It was Seokjin's idea to take Rae to the dungeons and let Taehyung extract answers. Even though the red-haired maid’s lover had already exposed her crimes, Seokjin still felt rage. He wanted to see the curvy maid feel the same pain that hurt his heart now that his darling was nowhere to be seen. Namjoon was hesitant, still uncomfortable with the murder Hoseok had admitted to, but eventually, he agreed, understanding how much this meant to his brothers. Jin was grateful for such a supportive younger brother.
A guard retrieved the scheming maid and brought her to the dungeons, where a very eager Taehyung waited, a cart full of knives and even a few goblets beside him. Normally, Jin steered clear whenever Taehyung tortured someone. He disliked the smell of blood and the sound of begging. But tonight, he planned on staying until the very end.

Alice's devotion to her Queen surpassed everything else in her life. She loved the Queen more than she loved you, more than her own brother, and even more than Rae, with whom she had spent the past five years with as she worked as a spy for the Queen. In fact, her affection for the Queen eclipsed her loyalty to her own family.
Of course, Alice cherished Rae deeply. She adored the way Rae's face brightened with laughter and how her eyes sparkled when she recalled something amusing. Alice loved the way Rae's cheeks would flush a rosy red when she felt bashful and the way her glossy hair would curl in the humid summer air, framing her beautiful face perfectly. Alice held a special place in her heart for Rae, but that love paled in comparison to her unwavering devotion to her Queen.
When Alice was chosen to serve as a maid to the Queen six years ago, she did not wear the traditional white uniform or veil. Initially, she believed this was a reflection of her inadequacy, a sign that she was unworthy of the veil. For a month, she wept every night, her despair only lifting when her Queen finally summoned her to the royal chambers.
The Queen had comforted her during that night of sorrow, gently explaining that her role was not diminished by the absence of the veil. It was in those moments of solace that the Queen revealed to Alice her true purpose and the vital role she was destined to play.
Alice’s role was to remain a service maid, her true purpose hidden by her everyday duties. She was to gather intelligence by befriending the other maids and to await the arrival of a particular young woman—yourself. Only upon your arrival and the unfolding of the Queen’s plans, whether you were aware of them or not, would Alice finally join the other maids at the Queen’s side.
When you arrived at the castle, Alice was quick to grow close to you. She arranged for you to remain close to Rae, who was frequently close to the royal family. Alice ensured you would serve at the ball, orchestrating a chance encounter with Hoseok. She also informed the Queen of your cleaning schedule, creating an opportunity for Hoseok and Seokjin to be in the library at the same time you were there.
Of course, betrayal was never part of her intentions toward Rae or her family, whom she loved dearly. However, her loyalty was to the Queen, and if it required sacrificing others to finally receive her veil, she would do so without hesitation.
Shortly after your departure, she gave Rae a final kiss—long and tender, holding all of the affection she could muster. Then, she made her way to Namjoon’s quarters.
This was her final act before she could ascend to the rank she had eagerly awaited since the day the Queen had chosen her as a maid. Sacrifices, she believed, were necessary to achieve one’s full potential.

bloom is such a soothing and lovely written fic 😭 do you have any plans to continue it
You are too kind friend!
The short answer is: Plans? Yes. Any sort of timeline? No. It's outlined, most of it's written, and every time look at it, I delete half of it and decide it doesn't feel right. I realized recently that it's been a year I've been posting, so my new vibe is "whatever direction I take this story in is the right direction, and done is better than perfect."
What I can offer instead:
If you, like me, are a fan of this specific flavor of soulmate trope, here are all the fics I've found that stem from Mindheist's Never Let Me Go (RIP). They all link to AO3 unless otherwise noted, and they are listed in publication order. I've read the ones with *
Love at First Touch by bagelswrites [Jimin]*
Soulmate Bonded: Jungkook x Reader feat. Namjoon by minxy_keys [Jungkook feat Namjoon]- this links to wattpad. The story is also on AO3, but wattpad has more chapters
Airplane Mode by orphan account [Hoseok]
Turbulence by orpahn account (fallincarins) [Yoongi]*
By Accident by Nigihayami (Kohaku_xx) [Taehyung- in progress]
Take My Hands Now by RemindMeAgain [Jungkook, but also Namjoon- in progress]
Bloom by Teenagebountyhunter (this is me) [Namjoon]
Trip No Further by matchy9393 [Yoongi]*
The Two Who Found Our Destiny by PurpleMoonFlower [Jimin]
Soul on Fire by @vyduan [Seokjin- in progress]*
All I Haven't Said by @violetsiren90 [Namjoon-in progress]*
And if you, like me, are a sloot for Kim Namjoon stories, here are a few that I read or revisited in the last year (thought not necessarily posted within the last year) and enjoyed, alphabetical order:
Captive (#3) by smashin [Namjoon/Reader CEO AU, a one-shot in two parts]
I’m going to be (12,500 miles) by bazooka [Namjoon/Jimin, red string of fate soulmates- in progress, basically complete]
Love: A How-to Guide by orpahn_account (fallincarins) [Namjoon/Reader, strangers to friends to lovers (tbd) in college- discontinued]
New and Resplendent Colors by platinumtangerine [Namjoon/Reader who is an artist]
Sanctuary Between Worlds by GraphiteFox [Namjoon/Yoongi/Reader mafia AU]
Second Heart by RM091294 [Namjoon/Reader, JUST TRUST ME, THIS IS MAYBE THE BEST THING I READ THIS YEAR]
Substance by RM091294 [Namjoon/Reader who is also an art conservator]
Verified Amateurs [ONLINE NOW] by beebalm [Namjoon/Yoongi, friends to lovers]
Honorable mentions (Namjoon makes appearance, but is not the primary love interest):
Bona Fides by RM091294 [Jimin/Reader with a sprinkle of Namjoon/Reader who is a spy, seriously, just go read her whole back catalogue]
Proscenium by automnesleaves [Namjoon/Yoongi/Reader lover/friend triangle who are all teachers, the softest]
Speaking of the End by oh_hey_tae [JK/everyone, magic and curses, you don't even meet Namjoon until 66% in, but I love him, in progress(?)]
The Road to You by @bonvoyagenoona [Everyone/Reader (not all at once) who is on a journey of self-discovery, the Joon chapter breaks my heart a little]

The red strings seemed all the more present to Hoseok today. They were screaming for his attention, for him to try to help detangle them, for him to do anything to shorten the distance between their ends. It was all in his mind though. The strings were no more vibrant or present than before… It was probably just because Yoongi said he finally got together with Jungkook. It was a teary call and undoubtedly that is why Hoseok is thinking about them more.
It has no connection to you sitting next to him, leaning against his arm as you read your book. The library was becoming “our place” in Hoseok’s mind, associating it with you and your laughter. It was a problem. You didn’t see him that way. Sure you were a bit touchier and friendlier since Hoseok was attacked by that lamb.
The two of you weren’t even alone in the library today. Jieun decided to join today, claiming it had the manga they wanted to read… but they were just watching you all curled up against Hoseok’s side and eyeing Hoseok as if he was doing something wrong.
If enjoying your crush leaning against you was a crime… Hoseok was 100% a criminal.
Hoseok sighed when you got up to use the restroom, watching you go off and worrying about what Jieun might say. They quickly got close, their bag falling in their rush.
“Is it ok if I curl up against you?”
Hoseok scrunched his nose together in disgust, “No.”
“Why do you let Y/n then?” He opened his mouth, “And don’t even claim it’s because you’re closer to them! We’ve known each other since we were in diapers and have been close for most of the time since. We even shared beds before!”
Hoseok sighed, “Look. I know that I need to set some boundaries between Y/n and I… I just… I’ve not felt this way about someone before. Every time I think of a reason to set a boundary, I find a reason to wait.”
Jieun sighed, “Good thing you’re not using the excuse of them initiating it to not put a stop to this.”
Hoseok laughed and they pushed him, “I know you’re looking out for me.”
“Damn right. I don’t want to see you hurt.”
“Thank you.”
“Why would Hobi be hurt?” You asked, looking between Jieun and him with a questioning glance.
“Oh! Our Hobi has a crush on someone! They don’t like him back and I am just trying to make sure this guy,” Jieun punches Hoseok’s shoulder, “protects his heart.”
“Oh. How could someone not like you back! You’re a catch!” You said, looking intently at your book as you settled back down, a meter of distance between you now.
Hoseok shrugged, “Thank you.”
He wanted to curse Jieun out for creating this distance between you and him… but he knew it was for the best. You didn’t like him. This red string was a fated thing that Hoseok didn’t understand fully but it seemed that for Hoseok, he’d be cursed to live with unrequited love. He’d happily do it though. If his relationship with you is only friendship and he watches from the sidelines as you get love that you deserve, he will be happy.

Part 1
Tumblr media
Painkillers. That was the first thought that you could rationalise when you woke up. The pain had been getting gradually worse through the months, to the point that it wasn’t only your chest that hurt anymore. When you woke up, the first thing you noticed was the feeling of constant pressure you felt in the middle of you spine, as if someone was constantly pressing some object to your back, trying to reach you heart in one fine blow. You no longer felt the burning on your chests, as things stood at present. Yes, it was annoying, and it didn’t allow you to function properly on a normal day, but the painkillers that numbed your senses more often than not these days dealt with it marvellously.
So the first thing you did that day when you woke up was drag your cold feet to the bathroom and, even before looking at yourself in the mirror, you downed two painkillers with a few sips of water from the tap. They always left a funny taste in your mouth, those pills. Then you sat on the closed lid of the toilet, and patiently waited for the pain to go away. As an afterthought it occurred to you that you could at least have brought your phone and had a look through Twitter now that you had little else to do. It seemed that these quiet numb moments in the morning were the only time of day when you could snatch a few minutes to be up to date with the news and what was old and new about your favourite group. You’d been kind of disconnected lately, so busy with work that you hadn’t step foot in the dance studio for two weeks. It’s not like your body or its condition would have allowed it, anyway. With a tired sigh you decided that you could wait for the numbness to arrive lying on your bed scrolling through Twitter, just as well as you were doing now barefoot in the cold tile bathroom.
You dragged yourself back under the warm covers and reached for your phone in the night table. It wasn’t too cold, the case, but it gave you a startle nonetheless. Opening the bird app for the first time in weeks, you were assaulted with notifications that you ignored in favour of looking through the most recent tweets. And you worried. How would you not, when one of your favourite artists was looking as if he had dragged himself back from the dead? He looked smily and warm, but the bags under his eyes and the defeated curve of his shoulders told another story. Their fans, you along with them, were worried because his dance moves didn’t seem to have that energy behind them anymore. There was also constant speculation about the reason why he was constantly rubbing over his heart. The most adamant ones were even saying that he had found his soulmate and they had died and that’s why he was looking dead standing. It’s not as if they have any proof, though, you thought. The soulmate thing was a nice little bedtime story for those who believed in the long obsolete system, but that was all it was. There was no proof, either medical, nor visual it existed like it used to in the past.
Taking one last look at his tired, but still smiling face, you left your phone between the covers of the bed and started your morning routine. Rolling your shoulders back, you checked if the painkillers were doing their job. Noticing the pain had somehow dispersed evenly through your back and it was a bit more bearable now, you set about seeing that everything you had to do today was done.
Not even lunchtime and you were already in your second pair of pills, now due to the headache brewing behind your right eye. How can a job that you enjoy leave you feeling like a puppet whose strings have been severed? Your coworkers are louder than ever today, laughing ostentatiously about some trifle article they had seen on SNS or some celebrity buying another ultra-expensive apartment you would never been able to afford even if you worked yourself to the bone every day for the rest of your life. Wow, pain did make you cynical.
Someone cleaned their throat next to your desk, and looking up, you just found your typical office employee, pencil skirt, silkish blouse and a huge grin. And you couldn’t for the life of you remember her name. But, the point is that you were certainly pass the point of caring.
“Can I help you?” You asked, feigning a bit of interest, but not so much so that she would take it as a clue to stay talking to you longer than necessary, worsening your headache.
“Always so nice, Y/N! I don’t know how you manage!” I don’t, either, Karen. I don’t. “Well, what I wanted to tell you is that my birthday is coming next week, and I was planning on celebrating it at a cafe, but turns out something fantastic happened! Can you guess what it is?” Not even stopping to catch her breath, or give you time to try and guess, she continued, with such shining eyes you wouldn’t have been surprised if she started crying glitter. “I managed to get my hands in two VIP tickets for BTS’s final concert the day after tomorrow, and I know for a fact that you are also an Army… would you care to come with me, please?”
Right about now you were feeling quite a shitty person, if you were to be honest with yourself. This girl whose name you didn’t remember was offering a ticket, VIP no less, to the concert of your lifetime and you’d been cheekily half-ignoring her. Pain was really a bitch, how did you become this person you didn’t recognise? Even with her looking at you with those open, sincere eyes, saying please as if you wouldn’t give your last cent to experience at least once in your life what a BTS concert was like… You felt terrible.
“Hyejin-ah, Y/N! We are going for lunch in ten!!” Shouted another one of your workers, inadvertently saving you from the embarrassment of admitting you didn’t remember the other woman’s name. “You coming?”
Before Hyejin could answer, you called her name and took a deep breath, braving through the pain.
“Hyejin, I couldn’t possibly impose… those tickets are incredibly expensive, and I don’t think I could pay you…”
“Don’t be silly, Y/N!” She chastised you, releasing a pretty giggle. “It is my birthday, and I want to share my happiness with another Army! The tickets are already paid for, the only thing you need to do is choose a nice outfit for that day, take your Army Bomb and enjoy the concert with me, will you?”
“But…” your words died in your mouth, emotion clogging your throat. You found yourself smiling, truly smiling for the first time in quite some time, and nodding. “I don’t know how I will ever repay you, Hyejin-ah…”
With a little squeal, she threw her arms around your neck and hugged you tight. Forgetting about your back, your chest, your head, you returned the hug instantly. You couldn’t believe how this girl had changed the course of your day in a few minutes. How could someone be so selfless?
“You’ve done so much for me since I joined the company, Y/N-ah!” She was saying, while you mused to yourself. “Thanks to you I could get a head-start on working here and I am so thankful! And I am so happy I found another Army here, and we can share this experience! AND ON MY BIRTHDAY!”
Her happiness was contagious, and soon you were laughing out loud, feeling so much better now compared to the previous… weeks, months…? You didn’t even care anymore. You were going to repay Hyejin however you could in the future. No matter how much pain you were in, or how tired you were. This girl was worth braving through it.
“Oi, you two! Are you coming or not?” Asked the same guy again.
You both took your coats laughing and headed for the elevators. What an edifying morning you were having. You had ended up with a new friend — hopefully — and the best present someone could have given you. What else could happen today to make it better?
The days between the good news and the concert came and went without you so much as noticing. Hyejin was gradually becoming a constant presence in your life. The day after her offer you brought her a cup of coffee and the day after that as well. You could see it becoming a habit, but she was such a nice person that only for the smile she gave you, you would make a little detour to get your coffees each morning. She was such a nice woman, Hyejin. You could almost forget about the pain in your body. The concert being a Saturday gave you all Friday night to panic, running through your apartment to choose what outfit to wear. Your Mang headband was the sure item, but the rest was driving you mad. Deciding that it was futile, you checked your bag for the battery, your Army bomb and your bottle to fill with water once inside. You were so excited for the next day!
Suddenly your heart constricted and you vision went black for a second. Your Army bomb crashed against the floor, but you didn’t realise it, as your knees collided as well with the wooden surface. Panting, you took your hand to your forehead in an attempt to calm yourself. You hadn’t been feeling so well lately, but not so bad either. But this was next level painful. No, you wouldn’t allow this stupid pain to keep you from going to that concert. Not even if you had to drag yourself to that stadium. Little by little, the pain began to leave, and you watched helpless at the clear pieces of your Army bomb looking at you from the ground, as broken as you felt.
Tumblr media
As soon as Taehyung had dropped the bombshell, it had been decided that Bang PD-nim needed to know. The situation was obviously getting out of hand, the fans were beginning to notice as well. But what was worse was the slow deterioration Bangtan was seeing in the face and body of Hobi. He was usually his bright self when the situation required it, but it was obviously becoming increasingly painful and the last thing that anyone wanted was for Hobi to be in pain. A couple of weeks after they returned to Korea for the final concert of the tour, he had dropped nearly unconscious to the floor, whimpering and rubbing his chest over his heart. The skin on his chest had become dry and irregular over that spot he couldn’t stop rubbing. This situation was getting out of hand for all parties involved.
With the final and the comeback approaching day by day, they had asked their for a meeting, the seven of them, Bang PD-nim and their managers. Mainly to discuss the situation and what to do in case Hoseok couldn’t perform — which was out of the question, according to him. He was performing and that was final.
“So, you are telling me that you assume these pains, that the doctors you have seen have no medical explanation for, have to do with your soulmate connection?” Asked the CEO, with his eyebrows raising to his hairline.
“Yes, sir.” Answered Hoseok, bowing his head out of embarrassment. If it was up to him he would have downed a couple of painkillers and they would all be practicing their asses out for the concert, and yet here they were because of some insignificant chests pains. Yes, as his mother had told him, chest pains were something really serious, even more so for someone with such a hectic lifestyle as theirs. But, deep down, and after Taehyung’s confession about being able to see the string, he knew what was causing the pain. That was in part the reason why he was feeling so defeated lately. Tae could see the string, but it had always pointed away from them in the same direction. With them travelling around the world on tour, the only thing Hoseok and the boys could manage to figure out was that his soulmate was provably back home in Korea, since the string always pointed in that direction. Now that they had returned he didn’t have the strength to ask Tae about the string. Just seeing his wild facial expressions and the way his head would snap in a thousand different directions was enough to warn J-hope not to ask.
“Son, the soulmate connection cannot be proven… no one can see the strings anymore, Hobi.” Answered back the older man, bringing him back to reality.
His hand instinctively went to his chest and started rubbing it. The painkillers he had taken that morning without Jiminie noticing were loosing their effect. How much longer would the meeting be, so that he could sneak out into the toilet and remedy that? Joonie’s hand stopped the circular motion over his sternum and with a look of finality, pinned both of Hobi’s hands to his leg.
“I can see them, though,” whispered Taehyung, not making eye contact with the CEO. “I can’t see anyone else’s but Hobi hyung’s at the moment, but his is right here,” he said, pointing at a slightly discoloured patch in the middle of Hobi’s favourite T-shirt.
“You have been rubbing away at it, alright, Hobe-ah,” whispered Yoongi, eyeing the T-shirt and the exact location where Tae’s finger was touching Hobi’s chest.
Bang PD-nim was looking at them all alternatively, not really ready to believe what they were insinuating but, what other explanation was there to the state Hoseok had been for the last few months? If finding his soulmate was the solution to free him from the pain he knew the younger man was feeling, he was willing to look for that person himself even. Finding your soulmate nowadays was almost seen as a miracle, and these boys deserved the universe after all the hard work and the blood, sweat and tears they had spilled.
Yes, it was completely unbelievable, but then again, rarer things had been seen through the years. He could take a leap of blind faith for the well-being of his boys, for the well-being of Hobi.
“Have you got any idea of where this person could be?” He asked, setting the boys into a momentary frenzy of disbelief. Was the CEO really agreeing to look for Hobi’s soulmate?
“We have a general idea, thanks to Namjoon,” said Jin, assuming his role as the eldest and revealing what so many nights of speaking amongst the seven of them had clarified, “while we were overseas, for example, according to Tae the string always pointed in the same direction and we checked. Hobi’s soulmate is not in America nor Europe. No matter how much distance east we covered, the string kept pointing in that direction. As soon as we got to Seoul though, Tae started seeing the string pointing in random directions. It didn’t make any sense to us, until Joon suggested that for the string to change direction so fast, the person should be much closer than it had ever been before. For the most part of the day the string would stay still pointing in the same direction, until around 5 pm when it would change locations. The person must be here in Seoul or incredible close, close enough to follow the thread and find them.”
After Jin tried explaining Namjoon’s complex reasoning to the best of his abilities, gaining a nod from the leader, Bang PD-nim looked deep in thought, and none of them dared to interrupt.
“Am I right in assuming you are not only here for the logistics decisions for the concert, but also to ask for permission to follow Hobi’s thread?”
Looks were exchanged among the seven of them, Hobi feeling a strange sense of hope and trepidation filling him for the first time in months.
“Yes, sir” he answered. No other words would leave his mouth now, his eyes fixated on the older man and holding his breath for the words that would free him or condemn him to endless pain.
“We have the concert tomorrow, we can’t very well drop everything and go looking for someone through Seoul,” at these words, Hobi’s shoulders stooped forward and his hands started itching in between Namjoon’s to reach for his chest. “That being said, I don’t see why we couldn’t use the days after the concert to conduct a bit of a search and, with the help of Tae we could find them in a day or two. Yeah, I don’t see why not.”
What happened next surprised every occupant of the room, including Hobi himself. He jumped from the chair, shouting “REALY?” Over and over again. His body was now pray of an energy he hadn’t felt in ages. Cursing through his veins like electricity was a feeling so exhilarating he couldn’t put words to it. Euphoria. Was it? Ecstasy, perhaps? He wouldn’t be able to put a name to it even if he tried, but he just knew he was feeling better than ever.
That was until something inside him told him his soulmate was in pain. He would be unable to tell what was it exactly that told him so, but there was definitely a nagging at the back of his head telling him something was not alright.
“They’re in pain,” was the only thing he managed to say before his eyes filled with tears and he became a whimpering mess in the chair he had been sitting before, in pain again.
“I think it would be better if you took him to the dorms for the night,” suggested the CEO, giving the poor man a warm look. “We will discus our plan of action in more detail tomorrow after the concert, boys. You just rest tonight, tomorrow is a very important day.”
Helping Hobi up, Jimin and Jungguk took him out of the office and towards the elevators. The rest of Bangtan followed slowly behind and the managers could hear them whispering among themselves.
“I swear, these mood swings are gonna end up giving me early grey hairs at this rate, I just want him to be alright,” Jin was saying while they moved slowly.
“As if you would know if you had grey hairs at the rate these people bleach our hair.” Scoffed Yoongi two seconds after.

💞Tight Hearts (Idol!Hoseok x Reader)
Part 1
Plot: The red string of fate was visible when our grandparents were children. When I was born, nobody saw them anymore, they just felt their soulmate. Anxiety, happiness, sorrow, love, the hearts of the soulmates are one, feel the same things, but it is almost impossible to find your soulmate, now that the threads cannot be seen.

Note
can you recommend a (non-ABO, non-canon) fic in which the therr is an established relationship and the fic is basically about problems coming in between the 2 characters, and how they overcome them. Preferably angsty. and if there is smut that would be a bonus.
I can indeed! ^_^

Pairings: Jungkook/Jimin
Status: Complete
Word count: 5,408
Summary:  If he focused enough he could picture the younger still there, sitting on the large windowsill and facing the glass surface, observing the view as if that was the first time, honeyed skin kissed by the moonlight, starry eyes admiring the dark expanse. That had been such a common view, Jimin had woken up in a cold bed and found the other sitting there so many times in the past months, yet he had never stopped feeling that deep pain each time, it had always disappeared the moment their eyes had met, but the fear came back every time the older was left alone, the fear that one day Jungkook wouldn’t be there looking at the night, but gone, far from him, too far for him to reach.

It makes him feel even smaller, even more of a failure. But it also ignites something inside of him, like most times he’s told he can’t do something, Jungkook has something to prove. And if Namjoon wants sex—Oh, well Jungkook’s just going to have to be the best and give Namjoon the best sex he’s ever had. Ever. The sun has been seen a total number of 2 times. Hidden behind the clouds for the majority of the day and now as the afternoon progresses into the evening it hides away even further. The breeze from earlier turns into a chill as if Autumn has made its appearance. In the manor, the cool air is lowered to avoid going head to head with the chilly evening air and despite being thankful a part of you is also hating it because you're sweating in your uniform. Not because it's hot but because you're wracked with nerves. Tonight is the first night in your life that you'll be attending one of your Masters during dinner. You've never done this before and you're nervous that you might mess up.
You pull at the collar of your blazer and have half a mind to unbutton it, but you don't. Clearing your throat you draw the attention of Ji-Woon who stands off to the side in waiting for the Lords and Masters to enter the dining area. He looks off to the side before giving you a word of encouragement.
"It's nothing to worry over. You'll do just fine. Just keep the Master's glass filled and you'll be okay."
You look over to him and give a shaky nod. "Okay." The word leaves you in a barely there whisper.
All of you in attendance are lined up against the wall waiting. Some are familiar faces while others are not. The unfamiliar ones have to be from the Bangtan's estate. They don't acknowledge your presence as you do theirs. Their eyes are looking off into the distance until the double doors that lead from the hall into the dining area is opened.
In walks in Masters Hyung-Won and Hyun-Sik with Lords Seokjin and Hoseok. The two oldest from each estate talk to each other about something unknown to you and it's with a strength you realize you lacked do you swallow deeply at the sight of them. Your bottom lip trembles and you have to fight with yourself to not step out at this very moment.
Following the men along are Master Hyun-Woo and Lord Jungkook. Each of the men are dressed handsomely. Your Masters in deep rich reds. Their pants are black slacks - Hyun-Woo's just a tad tighter against his long legs. Hyun-Sik's shirt is a long sleeved deep red blouse with the strings undone. Hyung-Won wears a burgundy waistcoat reminiscent of a corset over his black button-down and Hyun-Woo a black blazer over a red button-down. The Bangtan Lords are dressed just as smartly. Seokjin is wearing all black just like his brothers. His button-down is interwoven by pearlescent beads. The trimming of his blazer glimmers beneath the ceiling lights. Jungkook wears a long jacket over a loose shirt with shimmering trimming as well. It reaches his calves and flows with every step he takes. Hoseok wears a short sleeved blouse with a see-through shrug with flared sleeves. His neck adorned by a black ribbon. Your eyes widen by just the slightest at how gorgeous each of the men look.
The servants pressed against the walls move towards each man's seat. You don't move at first until Ji-Woon gives you a side-eyed look. You mentally berate yourself for not moving when you should have and it's with hurried steps do you step behind Hyun-Woo's chair to pull it out like the rest. Each of the vampire men sit and push themselves in. You grab the jug of wine as Ji-Woon had instructed you to do prior to all of this and fill Master Hyun-Woo's glass that he holds daintily in his one hand. You're careful not to overfill it and are rewarded with his dimpled smile. You smile back before stopping. Are you supposed to smile? None of the other help do - moving almost robotically and keeping in tune to their Master's desires.
After placing the jug back down you all step back a few paces to give the men their space as they commence their talk.
"If it continues then there's only so much we can accept without intervening." Hyung-Won speaks aloud his thoughts.
Seokjin tilts his head with a slight tsk. "And if we intervene who is to say others will follow us? They can easily build their walls up and pretend we don't exist to them to avoid a fallout."
You don't understand what they are referring to. You aren't privy to much of the outside world. About what your Masters have to deal with behind and outside of your closed doors.
Your eyes draw over to Jungkook who chooses to eat rather than discuss any plans. He is the most silent of the bunch and you watch the way his eyebrows draw together in what can be perceived as anger as he digs in. After him is Hyun-Sik who smirks at the two eldest men as if he's enjoying their disagreements towards one another's words. You can't see what Hyun-Woo is doing besides moving to drink his wine. It's as you look across him towards Hoseok does your spit run dry.
The vampire is leaning just the slightest bit to his side where he rests his elbow on the arm of the chair. He stares unblinking at you, his fingers dancing across his bottom lip. Once he garners your attention he smiles something borderline sinister. You blink once, twice and then it's gone. As if it were all a part of your imagination - he smiles rather lovingly your way.
Your face flushes at his undivided attention. It's as if he's tuned out everyone around him except for you. Staring yet again unblinking your way.
You hear a clear of the throat before Hyun-Woo lifts his glass as a sign for it to be refilled. You have no idea how long it's been empty and you move with hurried steps to refill it. Your hands shake a little as you pour the wine. None of it spills but it doesn't stop you for worrying over the worst.
Hyun-Woo raises his other hand in a pause motion and you subsequently stop. He smiles your way but it seems the slightest bit strained. You go to step back but he calls your name and pleads that you stand by his side instead. Your eyes widen by the slightest before nodding with a "Yes, Master."
"Does the Alliance know?"
You're brought back to the conversation between the two eldest at Seokjin's words.
"No, but I plan on announcing it come this Samhain."
"If I may," Hyun-Sik speaks up with a smile. "Would it matter if the Alliance were to know or not?"
"It does if we want them on our side, brother."
"Who's to say any of them will want to be on our side? Will that prevent you from pushing back on the rise of revolts that's been happening around Evergreen."
Hyung-Won sighs deeply. "I can't make a move until the Alliance knows of this because this doesn't affect only us. The revolts are happening not just in Evergreen but close to other estates. They've been sly enough not to do it on our lands but just at the cusp of it. It's enough to draw concern and we must start making plans now on how to deal with them for when the time comes."
"If the time comes." Seokjin states. "I'm not against notifying the Alliance of your plan but who's to say if the revolts will push in towards our lands?"
Revolts? Were people starting rebellions around the area? How? Why? When? You didn't know about this. How couldn't you have known about this? You realize then how sheltered you've been behind these walls. It forces a heavy pit to settle into your stomach.
You look over to Jungkook, Hoseok, and your Master who have chosen to stay silent in all of this. Jungkook is still eating and the other two you feel almost too uncomfortable to say. Hoseok is still staring at you. Now he looks the slightest bit upset. Almost as if he was upset you weren't paying attention to him because the moment you do his expression changes into a more pleasant one.
Hyun-Woo cracks his knuckles. At this angle you can look down at him and see he's staring over at Hoseok. His nostrils flare and his teeth clench as he watches the other vampire.
You sigh deeply. Your shoulders feel heavy with a burden you should not carry. You know why Hyun-Woo is getting more upset by the minute and a part of you wants to distract him with a question. A simple "is everything okay" just to make him look away for a second but you remember where you are at. No longer in the privacy of his chambers. Instead, garnering attention from one harmless vampire and dealing with the frustrations of another. You're brought back to last night and it's with a shake of your head do you snap back out of it. Now wasn't the time.
Your throat feels gross from the nerves so you go to clear it. It draws the attention of those around you and for once it's silent. It's awkward having so many eyes on you and so your eyes widen a fraction before you speak. "Sorry. Was just clearing my throat."
Seokjin smiles at you before going back to his dinner as he converses with Hyung-Won. There's a small chuckle that escapes Hyun-Sik that forces your face to go red with slight embarrassment. You try to not let it get to you as Jungkook goes back to eating while Hoseok and Hyun-Woo engage in a staring contest.
Hoseok smiles at him amusement filling his eyes. Hyun-Woo slams his glass onto the table in response. It makes you jump as you watch the wine slosh violently in the glass. A few droplets land on his hand and you go to clean it up.You slip a handkerchief from your pocket - given to you by Ji-Woon prior to the dinner - and try to dab at the wine that mottled his skin. Hyun-Woo instead snatches his hand away and it gives you pause. You look in his direction only to feel him place his hand against your lips. You pause again.
What, you think to yourself. What did he want from you? Your mind whirled with a million questions and thoughts before you settled on one. It couldn't be what you think could it?
Hyun-Woo looks up at you expectantly. Watching and waiting until your tongue would dart out to clean his hand. Your face flushes with heat as you look anywhere but him. You look over to Ji-Woon whose eyes catch yours for a moment but only for a fraction of a second before he looks forward with a weary sigh. You gulp as you feel Hyun-Woo's hand press even further against your lips. Embarrassment was an understatement. What you felt right now was horrified but you couldn't walk away because in the end he was the Master and you the maid.
The tip of your tongue peeks out from between your lips. It tentatively touches the back of his hand. You don't taste anything at first until you push your tongue out further to lave over the limb.
The wine is bitter. You don't know if it's because of the natural taste or because of your predicament. Either way, you can't stand the taste. Your eyes water and that too you don't know the reason for it. Is it because you want to cry or because you haven't blinked for the past 30 seconds?
You grab Hyun-Woo's wrist to push his hand away and look down to see it's completely clean. The red wine gone from the pale limb. He seems content as he places it down onto the table. He doesn't even look at you and you're happy to say the least. You couldn't bare the thought of being watched any longer. Your eyes dart over to the other men. Hyun-Sik smiles but Hyung-Won doesn't look at you. Seokjin has the decency to look away in embarrassment for you. As you step back into place you see Jungkook mirror an expression close to Seokjin's and you're shocked to see something other than disinterest marr his handsome face. It's when you look over to Hoseok does your breath feel stolen from your lungs.
His eyes are sharp as he glares at Hyun-Woo. His nostrils flare for a second as his lips curl downward. He doesn't seem the slightest bit amused by your Master who stares back at him with a smug grin. You could only guess he might feel angry on your behalf but that might be a stretch. Disgusted or disappointed mayhap and at the dinner table no less. Or maybe you're projecting because a mix of these emotions fill you to the brim along with shame and embarrassment.
Hyung-Won as if sensing the tension clears his throat while Seokjin raises his brow in question towards Hoseok. The latter doesn't say a word but he looks at you for a moment before turning to his food to eat. For just a second that you think Hyun-Woo will say or do something else to embarrass you further he doesn't and finally has a taste of his own food before him as well. It's then do you feel your shoulders relax. You hadn't realized how tense you had grown. Your face starts to cool off after running red no doubt. Your ears still burn a little but not like before.
For the rest of dinner, Hyung-Won chooses to switch topics and focuses on something more light. Seokjin goes along with it while they all eat. Jungkook was finishing his second serving before beginning his dessert. You're amazed at how much he can eat - his stomach an endless pit. As for the remaining three, Hyun-Sik enjoys the wine that's just been poured for him while Hoseok and Hyun-Woo quickly finish their meal and only the former accepting dessert. It's a molten chocolate lava cake and you feel yourself salivate. After you finish working you hope to grab some from the kitchens. That along with the dinner that was made up of rice and grilled pork belly with sides of kimchi, soybean sprouts, spicy cucumber slices, and steamed eggplants. No complaints were made of the food so you imagine it all tastes delightful.
Hyun-Woo runs his hand through his hair mussing the shaggy mullet. It's reaching his shoulders and you know he'll be due for a hair cut soon. For now though it fits him well. He pushes his hair behind each ear with just a sliver of it still hanging on either side of his face. He huffs as he tries to get comfortable in his seat and for one reason or another he seems to be irritated.
You look over to Hoseok to see he's back to watching you and it all makes sense. The urge to roll your eyes is strong. You settle on biting the inside of your cheek instead before looking away.
Your eyes lock with Master Hyun-Sik who smiles prettily. Though he's one of an identical triplet he looks different to Hyun-Woo. The same goes for Hyung-Won. For one, the two others lack the mole beneath their left eye unlike Hyun-Woo. Hyung-Won doesn't have dimples and Hyun-Sik only has one. All three have full lips and the same brown eyes. Though they have the same color eyes they look different. Hyun-Woo can look cold and indifferent even if he isn't most times while Hyun-Sik's are always filled with mirth. Hyung-Won's are warm and welcoming and one can easily get lost in them. Their hair is different as well. Hyun-Woo may have a mullet but Hyun-Sik's is wavy and long. It reaches past his shoulders and he almost always keeps it tied up or in a half-up half-down look. Hyung-Won on the other hand keeps it short with a clean undercut. It's a combination of all of these things that makes identifying which triplet is which easier.
You look over the distinction between each of the Bangtan Lords as well. Seokjin's hair is long with a middle part. The strands are pushed back enough for you to marvel at his forehead while Jungkook's is short with an undercut. You look over to Hoseok now who pushes the plate his dessert was once on away and you take in his appearance as well. Much like Jungkook, it's short but he has a parted side which is pushed back to reveal his forehead. Again you're caught off guard by how gorgeous the men are. They look untouchable almost.
As if sensing your eyes on him, Hoseok leans back in his chair bringing his glass of wine to his lips. He locks eyes with you as he drinks and it's you who has to look away first to break the contact. It unnerves you a bit how much he watches you. You're not one to shy away from eye contact when it needs to be made but the way he watches you makes you feel as if he - you pause in thought. As if he wants to devour you whole. But that's nonsense you know because why would he? It wouldn't make sense for a man you barely know to want that. Especially over you. It doesn't change the fact that he does look at you otherwise.
After everyone finishes up, they begin to push away from the table one by one.
"Another wonderful dinner, Hyung-Won. Your help is exemplary." Seokjin says as he stands up to stretch a little.
Hyung-Won only nods in thanks to which Seokjin smiles. The two see themselves out followed by the youngests who excuse themselves to the restroom and you're left with Hoseok and Hyun-Woo. You and the servant attending Hoseok stay by the men's sides as everyone begins to disperse, leaving the four of you alone. You look over to the doors that lead into the kitchen and watch as Ji-Woon gives you one long look before disappearing as well. No words are exchanged for a moment. It's nothing but silence that encases every one of you. That is until Hoseok's lips part to speak and he addresses you by name.
"I would like it if we'd kept each other company for the remainder of the night. Perhaps in the garden again." It isn't phrased as a question.
Your heart speeds up a bit and you know both vampires can hear it. You weren't expecting this. You're surely caught off guard and the lie you told Hyun-Woo about only bumping into Hoseok feels like it's beginning to unravel. Your nervous habit of worrying your hands between each other begins as you eye Hyun-Woo nervously. He tongues his cheek with a sigh before looking up at you then over to Hoseok.
"You have quite the interest in my maid." You don't miss the way there is some emphasis in the word my.
Lord Hoseok smiles. "I did tell you I do. She's captivating."
Your eyebrows shoot up to the top of your forehead before furrowing. What about you made you so captivating, as he put it, in his eyes? And when did Hoseok tell him this? Surely this was after the men had left when you hid yourself in the bathroom.
Hyun-Woo let's out a mirthless chuckle. "You did and I also told you she is off limits."
"That you did." Hoseok leans up in his chair. "But you didn't say why."
Hyun-Woo grinds his teeth a little. "She's mine."
Lord Hoseok's eyebrow raises in question. "So you both are together?"
Your eyes immediately look over to Hyun-Woo. He doesn't say anything at first and you're nervous he would lie. The longer he stays quiet the more nervous you grow until he finally speaks.
"She is mine as in she is my maid. And I don't like it when she's distracted."
Distracted as in distracted from his attention and his alone. Your heart pitter patters nervously in your chest. You know for sure they can hear it and it makes it beat even faster with a painful pump each time. You feel like it's going to launch itself from your chest at this point.
Hoseok smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. "Of course. The help should never be distracted from their work." He goes to stand before addressing his attention to you. "See you later when you're finished, Y/N."
For a second you think your heart has stopped beating as everything grows silent around you. Your body feels numb and you're too nervous to look Hyun-Woo's way. Lord Hoseok gathers himself before leaving the dining area along with his servant leaving you now alone with your Master.
You inhale deeply and hold your breath. Biting your lip for a moment before releasing it along with a sigh. You're too afraid to speak up and even more so afraid of the fact that Hyun-Woo hasn't said a thing. You were expecting him to at least hiss back a response to Hoseok but nothing. Not a word. You can feel that need to sweat from earlier come back but this time it's a cold one. You'll have to get this uniform washed with the rest at this point.
Hyun-Woo suddenly stands before resting his hands on the dining table. He leans over the slightest bit as he thinks to himself. You wish he would say something because his silence is unnerving to say the least. A soft sigh leaves him before he straightens up and looks at you.
Your body seems to freeze under his icy glare. If he wasn't upset with you you'd be surprised judging by the fact that he's staring at you like the whole back and forth with Hoseok was all your fault. Partially maybe as you were the topic of the conversation. If you could call it that. It felt more along the lines of a building argument.
Your lips part like you want to say something but nothing comes out. For the third time in your life you felt truly afraid of your Master. He seems to sense this as his glare cools off into something else. He's visibly still upset but it doesn't feel as directed towards you as it did before.
"You're not going to see him." His sudden words ring sharp in your ears. They nearly ring after having been coated in silence just before. "Do I make myself clear?"
Your brows furrow together. "But-"
"Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear." It isn't even posed as a question. He's demanding you to agree with him.
You don't know why you want to disagree with him so badly. Lord Hoseok means nothing to you in comparison to your Master but the idea of pushing the man to the side makes you feel uncomfortable. For multiple reasons. He means no harm to you, for one. Two, you don't wish to disrespect a Lord and three, a part of you really hates Hyun-Woo's possessive side. Hate it enough to actually want to deny him.
Your bottom lip juts out a bit as you clench your teeth. Gods do you want to deny him but you know you can't and he knows this all too well. So you settle for a deep sigh before the words leave you in a whisper, "Yes, Master."
Hyun-Woo stands there for a moment more staring at you as if he's trying to size you up before he steps away. His arm bumps into yours as he passes by and leaves you alone in the dining area.
Your eyes water a bit as you come to the realization that he's upset with you. It bothers you to know this. Really it should be you who is upset by all of this and more but he took that from you. Instead, expressing his irritation and disappointment as if it's your fault.
You dig your nails into the palms of your hands. Your jaw hurts with how hard you're clenching your teeth and your eyes draw close. You wouldn't cry. You're not going to cry. You won't allow it. You won't give that to Hyun-Woo. Not for the second time in just a matter of two consecutive days.
Your breaths are choppy and you have to simmer your anger to be able to regulate it. One deep breath in and a deep one out. You do this over and over again until the ache in your jaw leaves and the need for angry tears dissipates. You're calm again.
You release your fists and look down at the indents left behind by your nails into your palms. Once white from how constricted the skin was beneath the pressure - you watch as color slowly comes back from the rushing blood.
It's with an emptiness do you sluggishly nod to yourself. You won't see Lord Hoseok and you know you're not doing this for Hyun-Woo but for yourself. The less problems you have come your way the better.
You finalize this thought with a firmer nod to yourself before heading for the kitchen. You open the doors to see very few servants lingering about. Some are cleaning up while others eat whatever remains. Ji-Woon is no where to be found and you're actually grateful for that. You couldn't handle whatever pitying gaze he may throw your way.
As if they were waiting for your entrance, three servants choose then to enter the dining area to retrieve the dishes to go wash. Soon you're sure you'll see the night crew pull in to finish off what had once been. You take the time to gather some food for yourself before standing off to the side to eat. You wish you could say you enjoy the food to the fullest but it doesn't hit you with much gusto after the mood you'd been put in. It's with that state of mind do you polish off your plate as best you can and leave without dessert.
When you go to leave, you choose the opposite side of the manor. Away from the sliding doors that lead out to the garden in case you run into Hoseok. It's for the best you think because the last thing you wanted was for Hyun-Woo to grow even more angry with you even though you were upset with him yourself. No one says a word as they pass by you. People doing their jobs or on the way to do them. It's moments like this though that you appreciate the silence because you're too exhausted to want to deal with conversation. What you needed to do now was clean up and get your uniforms washed.
By the time you make it to your room you feel an immense amount of exhaustion but you really want to wash up so you gather your things and go to the bathroom.
Some of the shower stalls are in use - others washing away the long day down the drain. The one you usually use is unoccupied so you take the chance to quickly undress to use it. It's while you're in there do you take the time to wash your hair. It's been a few days so you relish in the feel of the water running through every one of your strands. Afterwards, you look down at your arm. With the bandage off you can see the latest scars to join the cluster. The one from the first bite is healing nicely but the second is puffing up from where he sunk his bottom teeth. You won't need to bandage it up again but it's unsightly. You sigh to yourself before reaching for the shampoo and getting to work. Outside of that, your shower is quick and you're dressed in your pajamas before you know it.
The faster you get things done the faster you're in bed.
You return to your room to put your stuff away and gather your uniforms together to take them to the laundry room. When you get there, you find it a little strange for you to find yourself alone in there but you take the time to gather other items waiting to be washed and put it with your stuff.
The metal door clangs as you close the washer and you watch through the little window as the soap mixes in with the water.
You sigh before rubbing your face.
There's not much to do now. It'll take roughly an hour for it to wash. You know because you've used the washer times before. You're tired but you have no choice but to stay awake now. You don't want to put the chore of getting your stuff washed by anyone else and just the idea of you going to bed without your uniforms ready for the next day just makes you anxious so you lean against the wall and stare off into nothing.
As much as you don't want to think about it, your mind goes over your day. From your time with Lord Hoseok and all the way up to dinner. You don't even want to think about Hyun-Woo. You're still too mad at him and don't want to ruin your night any further by thinking about him. Though a small part of you feels like you shouldn't be upset. Maybe you getting upset with his demands shows he's given you too much freedom. He's always been soft on you compared to others and it shows. Especially in the way you behave with him. It was about time he put you in your place. Didn't mean you had to like it though.
You purse your lips.
Is Hoseok waiting for you now? Is he expecting you? You feel kind of bad knowing that he might be. You rest your leg on the ball of your foot and rock the limb from side to side. You feel a little antsy just waiting here alone. Even more so knowing the Lord must be alone outside waiting for someone who'll never come to him. Though you believe it's because you don't want to disrespect the Lord you also would like to talk to him. Not in defiance of Hyun-Woo, though that doesn't sound too bad, but because you two haven't had the chance to get to know each other as well as you're sure Hoseok would like.
Your brows furrow together as you think to yourself and you decide on a dangerous decision. You look around warily as if there are eyes watching you. Judging you for what you're about to do. You nod a few times trying to hype yourself up before you cower. You're going to see Hoseok or at least try to if he's still in the garden. Whether you're doing this for your benefit or his, you don't know. What you do know is that you want to go so you do.
You are light on your feet as if you're afraid anyone would hear you sneaking away. You try to act inconspicuous so as to not draw any unwanted attention. You look over your shoulder sometimes when you pass someone to make sure they don't look back at you. It feels wrong but you know if given the chance people will gossip about you sneaking off to meet the Lord. No one knows the specifics of what was said between you and Hyun-Woo in the dining area or at least you don't think anyone else knows. If they did they'd be eyeing you now wondering where you were off too you're sure. And the need to gossip would be even greater when they find out you're off to see the very man you were forbade to meet up with.
You reach the sliding door and are surprised to see no one out there. You shouldn't have been as surprised as you were but you are and you don't know why but you feel a little disappointed. You purse your lips a little before deciding to step out onto the patio. You might as well enjoy the fresh air now that you're here.
It's a little chilly out and you wish you had brought a sweater or something with you. Gone is the warm Summer air that would have normally accompanied you. You slip your arms inside your shirt and warm yourself that way.
You sit on one of the chairs surrounding the glass table and sigh when your tired body collapses into it. The cushion feels soft and you revel in the feel of finally being off your feet. Your groan is loud as you stretch your legs and twirl your ankles until they pop. It feels nice to just relax and you take in the scenery before you.
The moon is high up and it's accompanied by the sounds of insects and the fountain's rushing water. It feels nice and serene out here and you close your eyes for just a moment. You lean your head back and enjoy the quiet for a little while. Remembering why it is you love being out here no matter the time of day or if it's because you're resting or working. Besides your room, the garden is your haven.
You open your eyes a little and look off into the distance. You frown a little when you see movement a little ways ahead. It's hard to tell what it is at first until it draws closer and closer to where you sit. It's when it's just feet away do you recognize who it is. It's Lord Hoseok.
Your brows raise a little to see that he was in the garden. So he was here. Just not waiting for you on the patio like you had originally thought.
He slowly stalks his way to you and for a moment you feel like his prey. His steps are quiet. His long legs taking him closer and closer to you before he stops before the stairs of the patio. He openly watches you as you do him. There's an unreadable expression on his face and you feel your heart accelerate by just the slightest bit.
He stares at you in that unblinking manner of his before he steps onto the patio and walks closer to you. Eyes unwavering even as he takes a seat beside you.
You rub your arms under your shirt as a small chill runs up your spine. You don't know why but being in his presence now leaves you feeling more chilled. Maybe it's the fact that you shouldn't be here with him that brings that feeling upon you.
"I was beginning to think you wouldn't come." His words are loud in your ears in the otherwise relatively quiet air.
You don't know how to answer him. You don't want to bring Hyun-Woo up but he seems to want to.
"Were you perhaps forbidden in meeting with me?"
It's like he knows more than you would like to think. There's something about him that always makes you feel like he knows more than what he let's on.
He raises his brow at you waiting for your response.
Should you lie? You don't know what it is in his eyes that compels you to speak the truth but you do. Or at least you somewhat do.
"I guess you could say that."
He hums. "Then why are you here?"
Your brows furrow together in confusion. But didn't he want you here? To see him? Why was he questioning you unless he didn't actually want to? You're confused. "I don't understand."
"I do," he states. "I do know why you're here but I need to hear it from you. Out loud."
Your lips part slightly as you try and guess what he means. "You wanted to see me?" The words leave you in an unsure manner.
"But did you?"
You pout a little. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to."
Hoseok leans into your direction as he speaks again. "Say it. I want to hear you say it. That way I know you want this as much as I do."
His words strike a chord within you. You don't know how to describe it but you feel unsure.
Want what as much as him? Did you want to see him? Of course you did. Like you said, you wouldn't be here if you didn't but you feel like his words carry more weight than what they initially do and it's with hesitancy do you answer him.
"I wanted to see you."
He stares at you unreadable before sighing with a smile. Like some invisible weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. You don't know what to make of it so you don't say anything.
Hoseok leans back again with his smile growing wider. He looks pleased and it forces a small smile to form on your own lips.
"So."
"So," you repeat.
"What are your plans for the rest of the night?"
You shrug. "Not much. Currently washing my uniforms. Waiting until that's done."
He nods.
"What about you, my Lord? What would you normally do at a time like this?"
Hoseok frowns. "I told you to just call me Hoseok."
You look surprised for a moment before blushing. "Sorry. It's a habit."
"Say it. My name."
"Hoseok." It leaves you softly though not awkwardly.
Hoseok smiles and with it comes your own.
Being around him isn't so bad, you think. Though there are things about him that may seem a little off you chalk that up to his Lordness. Such as never taking no for an answer. Outside of that he seemed pleasant enough.
"You know, Hoseok. You didn't answer my question."
He looks you over before smirking. "Normally I'd spend time by myself. Perusing through the library or the gardens. Here I feel is no more different. Except of course I have you for company."
You hum.
You wonder how nice that must feel. To have no responsibilities for the day and you're free to roam wherever you may please. You haven't read a good book in a long while and taking a trip to the library sounded like a good time.
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"
For some reason his words bring Hyun-Woo to mind. Maybe because it's something he would say to you whenever you're deep in thought. You think about how furious he might be if he came to learn you were with Hoseok when he strictly forbade you from seeing him. The thought comes in the form of a heavy weight that settles in your stomach uncomfortably.
You really don't want to think about that now. Not of Hyun-Woo. You shake your head with a sigh.
"Just thinking about the library. It's been some time since I last read something. Thought it would be nice to take a trip there at some point."
"Though the one here is impressive I feel like you'll love the one back in my home. My brother is an avid collector so we have a large variety waiting to be read. You almost never read a book twice with how much more there is yet to explore."
Your brows raise in silent surprise. "That must be wonderful."
Hoseok nods. "Maybe some day you'll get to experience it."
To this you laugh. You know he's just saying that for the sake of keeping a conversation going. There would be no reason or another as to how you'd get to his manor. You as a maid of another have no business in his home unlike your Masters or other Lords and Ladies wishing to conduct meetings and business. Though the thought sounds nice you know you'd reach the end of your lifeline sooner than you would have the chance to explore Hoseok's library back at his home. You know this but don't voice it out loud. Instead, you change the topic.
"I'm sorry by the way." Your words seem to strike something within Hoseok because he looks confused. Before he can voice a thought you continue to talk. "About earlier. Our time was cut short and I wanted to apologize for that."
A look of understanding crosses over Hoseok's face. "That's nothing to apologize about. Things happen."
You think back on it and slowly but surely your mood begins to grow a little dark. You recall the way Hoseok acted with Ji-Woon and it sends a small shiver up your spine. The hairs on your arms stand on end and despite having them buried under your shirt they shake a little as if you were cold.
A part of you wants to ask Hoseok about the behavior but you don't want to press your luck with him. He may be amiable but for how long?
You clear your throat as you try to clear your thoughts. If he notices the sudden dip in your mood he doesn't mention it. Especially when you switch into something more indifferent.
"So tell me," you start off. "What's life like as a Lord?"
Hoseok chuckles. "I would think you'd have an idea seeing as you're there to help."
"Mm no." You shake your head with a smile. "It's not the same."
"True." Hoseok leans back into his seat as he tries to get comfortable. "It can be rather boring actually."
"Really now?"
"Really." He smiles. "It also depends on your responsibilities and if there's more than one of you - how those responsibilities are then separated between you."
"What do your responsibilities entail then if you don't mind me asking?"
"Accounting."
"Oh." You give a pained expression. "Ouch, sorry."
Hoseok laughs out loud something merry. "It's okay. It's not as bad as it sounds and you have to deal with it when running a business either way."
You curl your leg under you as you lean in in interest.
"What kind of business?"
"Well when you live as long as I have it's everything and anything. I was born into old money but my brothers and I are expected to manage whatever has been inherited and either expand upon on it or maintain it."
"You say live as long as you have - how old are you?"
Hoseok smiles. "224."
Your face drops in response. Hoseok was 224 years old? You're having a hard time associating such a high number with age but then again he's a vampire. And you never really thought on that: the age of a vampire. You can't recall having ever asked Hyun-Woo his age and now you're tempted to. Was he older or younger than Hoseok? You're interested in knowing.
"That's so fascinating."
Hoseok shrugs. "Birthdays start to become less interesting by the time you reach your hundreds."
You hum. "And you were born a vampire? You weren't turned?"
He nods his head. "I was born. Same thing with my brothers."
You hum again in response. You were learning more and more about Hoseok and he was gleefully handing you the information. He seemed to find interest in you but now it was the other way around. You found interest in him and getting to know who he was was fascinating to say the least.
The two of you sit in amicable silence then. You look at him and blush when you catch him staring. Your face grows warmer by each second that passes but he doesn't look away. A small smile gracing his lips the longer you two hold eye contact. It's then that Hoseok sits up in his seat. His elbow resting upon the table between you where he then rests his chin on his hand.
"Do you know how beautiful you are?"
Your brows raise at his question with a small laugh sputtering from between your lips. "Thank you." You look down at your knees suddenly growing too shy under his scrutinizing gaze.
Should you compliment him back you wonder but you can't bring yourself to say anything else after that. It's hard for you to accept compliments sometimes and it's no different now. You give thanks because it's the best thing to say in a situation like this but it doesn't stop you from feeling shy. Hoseok senses this and it forces the smile he has to grow even larger.
"I'm not just saying it just to say it by the way. You really are beautiful."
You hum. "You're too kind."
He stares at you for a moment longer. "I'm interested in you, you know?"
Your brow raises in question. "I would assume. You've been very kind to me in the time we've slowly gotten to know each other."
He shakes his head. "No, I mean I'm interested in you as in I like you."
Your face flushes at his declaration. He liked you? As in the romantic way? You want to ask but your tongue feels heavy. You don't know why but you can't bring yourself to speak, but Hoseok continues for the both of you.
"Ever since I saw you I've been enthralled with you. It's why I've been wanting to get to know you more. There's never a moment that goes by without you on my mind."
Your heart begins to accelerate as you grow warmer under your skin. You still don't know what to say. A part of you feels flattered another part confused and slightly concerned. Not that you felt uncomfortable with him but you were concerned about the fact that you, a maid, managed to garner the attention of a Lord. A Lord you were forbidden to meet. A Lord whose feelings you feel like you can't entirely reciprocate.
Hoseok is attractive sure but you have barely gotten to know him that well. On top of all that, again you're a maid. One from a different estate at that. There was no way this was going to work.
You're sure he can see you growing visibly nervous under his gaze. You chew your bottom lip before coming up with something to say.
"I-I'm flattered, Hoseok. Really I am but I don't think I can-"
"Before you finish that thought." Hoseok interrupts you. He sits up straighter now as the topic of conversation grows more serious. "If you're worried about the fact that you're a maid and I'm a Lord don't be. There's nothing wrong with that. And if you give me the chance to prove to you that this will work out - I promise you won't regret it."
Your brows draw together as you pinch the skin of your arm. Something to help keep you grounded. You don't believe him but you're surprised to know you sort of want to. Then you remember Hyun-Woo. How furious he might be if he were to find out Hoseok confessed to you.
You suddenly look around afraid. Afraid if there was someone out there listening in to your conversation. The last thing you needed was for word to spread about you again and potentially getting to the ears of your Master.
You sigh. Hoseok is still staring at you with that unwavering look. You know he's waiting for an answer.
"I," you start off nervously. "I don't know what to say. I just - I don't know. I'm sorry." Your arms slide through your sleeves so you can bring your hands up to your face.
Hoseok slowly shakes his head. "Don't be sorry. I don't want you to feel pressured but I'm willing to wait for you. To give you time. I won't give up on you."
Your heart beats erratically with his words. He won't give up on you? You don't know why but his words bring you little comfort. You can't explain exactly why but you just feel this way. Although it's rather romantic he'd wait for you, right? Right?
"How about this?" Hoseok drags you away from your thoughts. "Sleep on it. Rest and we can talk again tomorrow."
A small sigh of relief escapes you. You should listen to him you think. You'll give him an answer tomorrow after you take time for yourself to think and rest.
You slowly nod. "Okay."
"Okay." Hoseok smiles.
He gets up to leave but not before approaching you. You look up at him and watch as he stares at you for a moment before leaning down to place a soft kiss onto your forehead. Your face grows warmer than ever at the contact. This is the second time he places a chaste kiss on you. You couldn't decipher the meaning behind it before but after tonight you know why.
Hoseok straightens. "Goodnight, Y/N."
"Goodnight."
He takes his leave then leaving you alone in the night air. The only thing occupying your mind are rapid thoughts now. What do you do now? Well for one you needed to check on your clothes. They should be done by now and they needed to be put into the dryer, but you find yourself rooted to your seat.
You sigh with a shake of your head. Hoseok threw the ball into your court and would expect an answer by tomorrow. You feel like you're going to need some more time than just this one night to think because right now you don't think you can come up with a good enough reason as to why you should give him a chance. Again, you know he's attractive. Hoseok clearly is but were you attracted to him? Would you willingly give him a chance even though you were unsure of where you stood with him? You'd just met the other day and for him to spring this on you makes you feel worried. Worried you'd sooner hurt or offend him rather than give him the answer you're sure he wants to hear. And worried because of your Master who'd more than likely blow up if he were to find out about this. Whether your answer turns out to be something Hoseok wants to hear or not you can only imagine Hyun-Woo's anger and you want nothing to do with it.
You rub at your eyebrow before getting up.
First, you'll take care of your clothes. After that, you'll go up to your room for bed and hope to any god that may be listening that Hyun-Woo won't need you for the rest of the night. Otherwise you'd have to wash up again and change your clothes to mask the fact you'd been with Hoseok. Third, you'll probably have a hard time sleeping so you'll spend the night in bed staring off into the distance as you think on what your answer might be. You feel like you already know but you'll see how you wake up the next day.
The next thing was how or when would you and Hoseok meet again? Would he find you or would the two of you meet like you did tonight in the garden?
You're starting to get a headache with all the questions and thoughts running through your brain. You tell yourself to focus on one thing at a time and eventually you'll get to your decision. Whatever it may be.

so i got on tiktok for more than five minutes for the first time in like a month the other day and i saw they was doing this trend where it’s sorta like fmk but like husband, boyfriend, or sneaky link and i just wanted to add my two cents
namjoon:
this is your boyfriend
Tumblr media
i know you may be thinking ???? boyfriend???? not husband??????????
but yes boyfriend listen we all know this man is brilliant; big brained and big bodied; cognitive skills off the charts; he knows a thing or two about a thing or two
however, he just ain’t there yet 😭 he don’t even got his license y’all gon flub on the contraceptives once or twice and next thing you know you strapping your kid into the basket of his bike so he can drop them off to school 😩
and his cooking……….. like watching this man with a knife gives me anxiety
he has a bit of growth to do but that’s why you date before getting married 🥳🥳🥳
y’all would go on the beeeest dates i’m talking museums, picnics, hikes, and yes bike rides
and like he’s just so sweet and thoughtful and he tries his very best to be gentle despite his destructive nature so it would just be so cute and fun for him to be your boyfriend
seokjin:
it goes without saying that this is your husband
Tumblr media
to be honest ion even really need to elaborate on this one like…
he cooks; he cleans; he’s thoughtful, supportive, silly, will do anything to make you happy…
everything you could ever want and need in a man is manifested in kim seokjin
so just lemme tell you what this ^^ gif is this is like three months after you’ve given birth to your second child
he got home from work way later than expected he was tired exhausted really but still helped you with your new baby taking turns tending to them on and off all night
you had just gotten into a really good sleep when your alarm went off signaling it was time to get child number 1 up and ready for school
you groaned sitting up but before you could even get out of bed he was wiping the sleep from his eyes and telling you he was going to take care of it
“but you got off late last night and you helped me too”
he reassured you that it was fine and that he had it he knew how hard you worked all day everyday and you never got the opportunity to clock out
it was his day off anyway so he kissed your forehead and told you to get back to sleep
which was a bit easier said than done bc those two were like bulls in a china cabinet there was whining and scuttling all around a few disagreements on which outfit your child should wear and what they should eat for breakfast
but soon enough you looked out the window and saw jin adjusting his shorts and a few seconds later your child bobbling out after him backpack a little too big for their body before they walked hand in hand to the car
that’s… what that is… that’s your husband
and when i say your i mean mine that’s my husband
you can keep scrolling 😗✌️
yoongi:
husband <33333
Tumblr media
like jin this man is the total package
he cooks, cleans, is loving and supportive, will take care of you emotionally, and on top of that he’s handy! extensive knowledge about interior design!
like if you want some pictures hanged or a shelf built or something this is the man for you
your lil bob the builder <3
like idk what it is with this man but something about him is just so soft and makes me want to love and be loved by him
like if this is not your husband this is your long term boyfriend you are dating him for no less than five years and when you part way you ain’t gon know how to live without him
so don’t leave
bring the documents he already said so
hoseok:
boyfriend 100%
Tumblr media
hobi just seems so partnerable
i look at him and i see movie nights and pillow talk
i see cuddles and late night facetime calls
your own personal hope on the streets when he wants to loosen up or practice or relieve stress😩
you go to a restaurant and each pick a dish and share it with each other like he’s very much giving one milkshake 2 straws
or you two cook together side by side he’s chopping vegetables and cleaning while you’re sautéing and stir frying and what not
you go shopping with him and critique his outfits when he tries them on and vice versa
i don’t even know man i just see hobi and i think he’s flawless i want to give him the world
and i think about that time when he said one of his personal goals was to become special to someone 😭😭😭
so like girl get your boyfriend and just give him all the love he’s searching for all the love he deserves
jimin:
….sneaky link
Tumblr media
look at him smh caught in 4k sending a “you up?” text at the tender hour of 3am
idk what to tell ya man he just ain’t bout it rn
he ain’t looking for nothing but fun
atm it’s just him and his bros
every once in a while he’ll go searching for a connection for a night or two
there may be a few repeat offenders a string of flings if you will but never anything serious
i can see it in his eyes everyone can really bc he flirts with every living and nonliving thing in sight
taehyung:
husband
Tumblr media
now you may be thinking… is he not on par with namjoon when it comes to practical skills???
and like yes perhaps but he definitely is not as much as a liability
like i think i can trust him to open a packet of barbecue sauce without risk of ruining my outfit and like i know i wouldn’t fear for my life if he was slicing a hard boiled egg
which is not to say that i wouldn’t mind getting stabbed by joon there are certainly worse ways to go but that’s not what we’re talking about
what we’re talking about is tae and how i just know with him you’d be safe physically mentally and emotionally 🥺🥺🥺
and idk if it’s bc i done seen him in slacks one too many times but something about him just screams commitment
like he’s giving 401k he’s giving life insurance he’s giving condo in florida where you spend the winter bc your bones get too cold where you normally live
but you know what he’s also giving passion like you will 100% spend the rest of your life in love with this man
like in that picture it’s giving you’ve been married for three years it’s wednesday and he’s off so he asked you on a date
it’s taking you longer than anticipated to get ready you wanted to look pretty for him bc truthfully you don’t get to go on dates often as much as he’d like to
your hair and makeup is finally done so you find him and tell him you’re almost done and you’ll be out as soon as you slip on your outfit
he lazily turns his head to you and tells you to take your time there’s no rush and he’s just looking at you with absolute hearts in his eyes
you’re not even fully ready and there’s hearts in his eyes 😭 it makes your heart race and you can’t keep the smile off your face as you get ready for your date, for the rest of your life together with him
jungkook:
i know y’all gon hate to hear this one but… sneaky link
Tumblr media
^^ that may be your boyfriend but you ain’t his girlfriend 😭
that is the face of someone you called and told that you wanted to stop messing around bc you was getting attached but he convinced you that it didn’t have to be all that and acted cute until you changed your mind
listen this man is in his prime he ain’t tryna settle down
the moment you try to commit is the moment he jumps out the window
and this is not to say that he’s not a good boy but like i’ve known jungkooks i’ve been friends with jungkooks and the second you try to take things farther than what they want that’s when they stomp all over your heart
however i do firmly believe that jungkook ain’t like them others he’s more than a good boy he’s the best boy
and if he like idk heard bells when you walked by or was pulled by the red string of fate or like felt the yearning or whatever it is that he done conjured up in his head he’d be everything and more 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

The Red String of Fate (part 7)
Yoongi x Reader (slight Hoseok x Reader)
Genre: Angst (soon fluff and possible smut)
Word Count: 1417
Notes: I actually think I’m really happy with this part. Also, its out earlier than I thought it would be
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
Your heart has finally started to slow down when you reach a small room at the back of the building, away from all the prying eyes. You have started to hum: a little trick you learned to help your anxiety. Hoseok recognizes your tune as a song you both used to sing as children and hums with you. You immediately stop, knowing the memories the song will bring forth. Everyone gets situated and looks at you expectantly.
Hobi reaches for your hand, but you shy away, trying to find the right place to start. Your eyes dart around the room before catching Yoongi’s. You calm down a bit, knowing that things can’t really get worse than a few months ago.
“Miss-“
“I know. I know. I just… wasn’t exactly ready for this.”
“Then why were you here?”
“I just came here to think. I’ve been looking for a job and haven’t had any luck-“
“That is besides the point. You’re here now. Can we please get on with it?”
“I guess I should start with when I first met Hoseok. We were both very young and didn’t have a lot of friends, but we clicked instantly. We had only been friends for a few months when I realized that I could see the strings.”
“Wait, you can see the strings? I heard that was a myth.” Everyone turns to stare at Namjoon. “Ignore me.”
“Yes, I can. It took me a long time to figure out what it meant or why I could see them, but I did. I was connected to my best friend, Hobi.”
“Wait, was?” This time it’s Yoongi. I clear my throat, forcing myself to continue.
“Yes, was. You know, it’s not like the fairytales say. They say that everything is peaches and cream when you meet your soulmate. They say that everything is fine, and everyone ends up together in the end. Well, that’s not how it works!” You continually get more heated. You’re angry with yourself and at the world. It’s a cruel place to live in. Everyone is taken aback. You breath and continue.
“I sat on the sidelines for years as I watched my soulmate fall in and out of love with other people. I just trusted the strings- believing that, no matter what, we would end up together like the fairytales said. Only one time, he didn’t fall out put of love. He just fell more in love with this girl as she fell more in love with him. Xumin was her name, and eventually they decided to get married. They knew they were not soulmates, but they didn’t care. They loved each other. I couldn’t lose hope, though. I refused. That was when they came to me.” Your eyes are tearing up at this point. It hurts to tell this part of the story. Hoseok reaches for me once again. This time I get up and walk across the room, unable to face any of them.
“They knew I could see and manipulate the strings. They wanted me to change their fate… so I did, unable to say no to Hobi. You know it’s funny. When you manipulate the strings, they manifest themselves into reality. That was when they found out I was his soulmate. They gave me a second chance, though, making me tie my string to Xumin’s soulmate, but I was already shattered. I didn’t know if I could ever truly love someone else. I also couldn’t look Hobi in the eyes. I avoided him for the days leading up to his wedding. I almost didn’t even go.”
“There was no way you weren’t coming. Jimin said you were dressed when he showed up. I wouldn’t have started without you either.” A small smile plays on your lips.
“Yea. Yea. Whatever. Anyway, I had decided to come to Seoul to get away from, well, everything. I was so utterly lost. So, I flew here to stay with my sister to screw my head on straight and maybe make plans to go out of the country. That’s when the airport incident happened. Most of you already know that, but the abridged version is that I got trampled by some fans because lucky me: I decided to travel the same day as famous rapper, Agust D. He graciously helped me up, and here’s what you all don’t know. I noticed something weird. Yoongi’s string was altered. Haha funny ‘cause mine is altered too, right. So I follow the string with my eyes and bam! Who is he tied to? Me! The no good, broken soulmate. Someone who loves another and is not ready to love anyone else. Literally the worst person. Maybe if had been a little later it would have been better, you know, but at that point in time, all I knew was that I had to go. I couldn’t tell him. I wouldn’t put him through that. I couldn’t.”
“That’s why I had to leave you, Yoongi. I had to speak with her and find out her intentions. I also had to see if she wanted to let you know of the situation.”
“So of course I was like, NO! Not that he was any help. He didn’t want you to know, but anyway, I decided that I would tell you when I was ready to try. Though, you see I’ve been kind of busy trying to find a job, so I haven’t put much thought to it. Actually, that’s a lie. I think about it every day. I sit outside this building wondering what it would be like if things were different, never able to push myself through the doors, cursing myself for giving someone such a terrible soulmate.” I turn to look at Yoongi.
“I do want to try, though, if you want. I may not be your original soulmate, but you’re kind of stuck with me now. I don’t know your opinions on soulmates but I really think I just need to do something at this point. So…”
“I need a second to take all of this in.” He steps out of the room. You watch him leave, collapsing in a chair.
“Why didn’t you tell me, (Y/N)?” You turn to Hoseok.
“I didn’t know how.” He hugs you.
“It’s okay. I understand.” Everyone has cleared out now.
“I could really use a nap. I was actually about to head home when I spotted you.” You stretch a little in your seat.
“Maybe I should get you back to your sister.”
“I think she’s actually on a date right now, but you can walk me to the apartment.”
“Sounds good to me. I’ll let the others know I’m heading out.” You move to grab your things as he leaves. Your eyes scan the room before you step out of the door. You are stopped by the dreadful manager. He tells you that when Yoongi is ready to discuss things he will contact you. You wait for Hobi in the lobby.
“So, do you wanna stop and pick up some dinner on the way back?”
“Not really in the mood, Hobi. Just tired. You ready?”
“Yea. I guess.” As you start to walk you make light conversation.
“Is Xumin with you?”
“No. She is settling everything because we are moving to Seoul for work.”
“Oh. Sounds nice.”
“What about you? Planning your escape anytime soon?”
“You know, with this whole soulmate thing, you would think I would be running for the hills, but it’s kind of nice here. It’s like I’m building myself up again from scratch, making new friends, you know?”
“I get it.”
“Maybe we could be friends.”
“What do you mean?” You turn to him.
“Things haven’t been the same. You know that, Hoseok. With everything that’s happened, I don’t know if we can ever be the same but maybe same isn’t what we need.”
“I don’t think I’m following.”
“We can be similar without being the same. I’m saying we should start over. I’m a new person. You can’t keep treating me like I’m the same girl I was a year ago because I’m not. We need to see each other for who we are now. That means starting over.”
“I think I understand.”
“We could start over without all of the soulmate drama. Just you and me. As friends. Just guys being dudes.” He laughs, nodding his head.
“It’s a deal.” We shake on it. This is the first step towards the rest of your life.

Summary: On going. Idol!Hoseok x reader.
↳ “The red string of fate was visible when our grandparents were children. They would play around, following the strings from one person to their soulmate and laugh happily when these two people inevitably found each other. It was a reason for happiness. But little by little, people stopped seeing the threads. In bad times, it was dangerous, it was a liability, so people stopped seeing them to protect each other from harm. When I was born, nobody saw them anymore, they just felt their soulmate. Anxiety, happiness, sorrow, love, the hearts of the soulmates are one, feel the same things, but it is almost impossible to find your soulmate, now that the threads cannot be seen.”
