Shoutout to @aereaseastar for giving me the idea to post a kind of horror movie breakdown so others can know what the film is about without watching it
Plot summary
A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others' rectums.
Banned
• In the UK, the film has been refused classification a by the BBC. The ban was eventually lifted, but only after several cuts were made.
• In Germany, as much as 17 minutes had to be cut, but even then, this wasn't enough to placate the authorities, ultimately banning the film outright.
• In Australia, the film initially passed uncut but ultimately had to be edited, albeit not to the extent of the UK cut, to pass.
• This film remains banned/has been banned in New Zealand, China and Iceland
Trivia
• Tom Six drew inspiration from his time as a director for Big Brother, where he observed the strange things people would do when they were alone and thought they weren't being watched.
• Akihiro Kitamura improvised his dialogue in the scene where Heiter explains his procedure
• The heating wasn't working in the scene where Lindsay falls into the pool, so Ashley C Williams's shivering was real
• Tom Six (the films director, writer & producer) kept the actual method of how the centipede would be formed secret from nearly everyone as long as possible
• The main villain is a surgeon, because Tom Six has a personal fear of hospitals and doctors
• Dieter Laser contributed many ideas about Heiter's character, the most notable of which was him swimming naked in front of his victims; he felt that since Heiter viewed the 'centipede' as his pet, he wouldn't be ashamed to be naked around them
• Tom Six claims that he got the idea for the film from discussions with a friend on how to punish child molesters
Breakdown
Lindsay and Jenny are two American tourists in Germany who attempt to drive to a local nightclub when their car breaks down in the nearby woods. After refusing a ride from a dangerous-looking truck driver, they walk through the woods looking for them when it begins to rain. They stumble upon a rural country house owned by a crazed surgeon named Dr. Heiter. Dr. Heiter pretends that he is calling for them when he serves the two young women drugged water, which upon drinking it they pass out. The women awake in a makeshift medical ward in the basement and witness Heiter informing a kidnapped truck driver that he is “not a match” and then killing him.
When the women wake up a second time, Heiter has secured a new male captive, Japanese tourist Katsuro. The doctor explains to his three captives that he is a world-renowned expert at separating conjoined twins but dreams of making new creatures that share a single digestive system. He describes in detail how he will surgically connect his three victims mouth-to-anus. After Lindsay fails in an attempt to escape, Heiter performs the surgery on his victims, placing Lindsay in the middle, Katsuro at the front, and Jenny at the rear. Before beginning the operation, Heiter explains to Lindsay that he had experimented with creating a 'three dog', also joined mouth-to-anus, which died shortly after surgery. Heiter tells Lindsay that the middle dog of his creation experienced the most pain, and as a punishment for her escape attempt she will become the middle part of his human centipede.
Once the operation is complete, the doctor tries to train his centipede as a pet and watches with great delight as Lindsay is forced to swallow Katsuro's excrement. However, Heiter eventually becomes irritated after being kept awake day and night by the constant screaming of his victims, and he soon realises that Jenny is dying from blood poisoning caused by the surgery.
A few days later, two local detectives, Kranz and Voller, arrive at the doctor's house to investigate the disappearance of tourists. Heiter decides to add them to his centipede as replacements for Jenny. Heiter fails in an attempt to drug the detectives, and they leave the house to obtain a search warrant.
The victims attempt to escape from the ward, crawling up the stairs, and Katsuro attacks Heiter, stabbing him in his left leg with a scalpel. Their attempt to escape ultimately fails. Katsuro confesses to the doctor, in Japanese, that he deserves his fate because he had treated his family poorly. He then fatally cuts his own throat with a shard of broken glass. Just then, the detectives return to the house and conduct separate searches, as Heiter hides in the basement near his swimming pool. Kranz finds the makeshift ward and then hears a gunshot. He discovers Heiter's victims before finding Voller dead in the swimming pool after being shot. Heiter comes out of hiding and shoots Kranz in the stomach, and Kranz responds by shooting Heiter in the head. Kranz then falls in the pool, dead.
Back in the house, Jenny and Lindsay hold hands as Jenny dies from her blood poisoning. Despite being aware that their captor is dead, Lindsay is left alone in the house, trapped between her two deceased fellow captives.
I haven't personally watched this film, so apologies if I made any errors

Here is the Full Movie with summary
Robert Eggers’ 2024 film “Nosferatu” is a reimagining of the 1922 silent horror classic, delving deep into themes of obsession, darkness, and sacrifice. The narrative intricately weaves the lives of its central characters against the backdrop of 19th-century Europe, creating a haunting tapestry that explores the human psyche and the supernatural.
The Awakening of Orlok
The film opens in the early 1830s with a young girl named Ellen, who, in her profound loneliness, calls out for a supernatural presence to alleviate her solitude. This desperate plea inadvertently awakens Count Orlok, a mysterious and malevolent being, who binds Ellen to an eternal pledge. This initial encounter sets the stage for the dark and intertwined destinies of the characters.
Thomas Hutter’s Fateful Journey
By 1838, Ellen is married to Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent in Wisburg, Germany. To secure their financial future, Thomas accepts an assignment from his employer, Herr Knock, to sell the dilapidated Grünewald Manor to the enigmatic Count Orlok. Despite Ellen’s ominous dreams and pleas for him to stay, Thomas embarks on the journey, leaving Ellen in the care of their friends, Friedrich and Anna Harding.
Upon reaching Transylvania, Thomas encounters wary locals who fear Orlok and witness unsettling rituals, including the exhumation and staking of a supposed vampire. Undeterred, Thomas proceeds to Orlok’s castle, where he is met with a series of eerie and supernatural events. Orlok’s sinister interest in Ellen becomes evident when he takes Thomas’s locket containing her picture and coerces him into signing a cryptic document. As Thomas’s health deteriorates due to Orlok’s predations, he discovers the Count’s true nature but manages to escape, eventually being nursed back to health by Orthodox nuns.
Ellen’s Torment and Orlok’s Arrival
Back in Wisburg, Ellen experiences severe sleepwalking episodes and seizures, which perplex Dr. Wilhelm Sievers. Seeking answers, Sievers consults his former mentor, Albin Eberhart Von Franz, who suggests that Ellen is under the influence of the Nosferatu, a demonic vampire. As Orlok makes his way to Wisburg aboard a ship laden with plague-infested rats, the town begins to succumb to a mysterious plague. Orlok’s arrival brings death and madness, with Herr Knock, now institutionalized, acting as his servant.
The Climactic Sacrifice
Thomas returns to find Wisburg in chaos and Ellen’s condition worsening. Von Franz’s research reveals that the Nosferatu can be vanquished by a pure-hearted maiden’s willing sacrifice. Determined to save her husband and town, Ellen conspires with Von Franz to distract Thomas. She summons Orlok to her bedroom, allowing him to feed on her blood throughout the night. As dawn breaks, the sunlight destroys Orlok, but Ellen succumbs to her injuries, dying in Thomas’s arms. Her selfless act frees Wisburg from the plague and the terror of the Nosferatu.
Conclusion
Eggers’ “Nosferatu” masterfully blends gothic horror with deep emotional undercurrents, exploring the complexities of human desire, fear, and sacrifice. The film’s atmospheric storytelling and compelling character arcs pay homage to the original while offering a fresh and immersive experience for contemporary audiences.

ALIEN (1979) Breakdown | Easter Eggs, Hidden Details & Things You Missed
youtube
I prefer the Director's cut. It adds to the horror of the adaptivity of this creature that goes hand in hand with the Xenomorph coming from something far ancient and incomprehensible to our puny minds that also councides with cosmic horror. And this concept has also been explored in old and new canon.
The commentator in this video says so himself. The title sequence are like hieroglyphs. It was what Ridley and the others who were behind this masterpiece intended. In the director's commentary of the dvd, Ridley says so himself. It is meant to resonate with the horror of the unknown and something ancient.
Funnt thing, when my dad and his friends saw it in theaters, they had the suspicion the guy could be an android. They were studying to be engineers and the way he behaved, he seemed machine like. For my dad, he said what rose his suspicions was when he started running in place after Ash, Kane and Dallas go off to explore LV-426. My dad said it reminds him of one of the machines he practiced with. If it stays "resting" too long, it can be like muscle atrophy in humans. The "white blood" obviously confirmed it, which mirrors the cooling agents they worked with.

Breakdown
In the small town of Woodsboro, California, high school student Casey Becker is home alone when she receives a phone call from an unknown person. They discuss horror films until the caller turns sadistic, threatening her life and revealing that her boyfriend, Steve, is tied up on her patio. The caller demands she answer questions about horror films to save his life, but she gives an incorrect answer about Friday the 13th and Steve is killed. Casey attempts to escape the house but is stabbed to death by someone wearing a Ghostface costume and her disemboweled corpse is hanged from a tree.
The news media descend on the town as a police investigation begins. Teenager Sidney Prescott struggles with the impending first anniversary of the rape and murder of her mother Maureen by Cotton Weary. The trauma has made her unable to consummate her relationship with her boyfriend, Billy Loomis. As her father Neil is traveling for work, Sidney waits home alone for her best friend, Tatum Riley. She receives a call taunting her about Maureen's death and is attacked by Ghostface, who disappears just before Billy comes through her window. However, she becomes suspicious when he drops a cell phone, and he is arrested by Deputy Sheriff Dewey Riley, Tatum's brother. At the police station, Sidney is confronted by investigative journalist Gale Weathers, who claims that Maureen had several affairs, including one with Cotton, and that he was wrongly accused of her murder. Sidney stays at Tatum's home but receives another taunting call from the killer. The calls are traced to Neil's phone, but the police are unable to locate him.
After his release, Billy encounters Sidney at school and further upsets her by comparing his absent mother to Maureen's death. After suspending school in the wake of the murders, Principal Himbry is stabbed to death in his office. To celebrate the closure, Stu Macher, Tatum's boyfriend, hosts a party at his secluded home. Dewey and Gale keep watch on the party in case the killer strikes again. As fellow high schooler Randy Meeks details the rules of surviving a horror film, Tatum is isolated in the garage by Ghostface, who crushes her with the garage door. After discovering Himbry's murder, most of the partygoers leave to see his hanging body, nearly running over Dewey and Gale and inadvertently leading them to Neil's hidden car. Billy arrives at the house to reconcile with Sidney, and they finally have sex. Afterward, they are suddenly attacked by Ghostface, and Billy is stabbed. Sidney evades Ghostface, who kills Gale's cameraman Kenny and stabs Dewey when he returns. Gale, attempting to flee in her van, crashes and is knocked unconscious. Sidney seeks refuge inside the house, locking Stu and Randy outside as they accuse each other of being the killer.
A seemingly wounded Billy returns and allows Randy inside before shooting him in the shoulder, revealing himself as the killer and Stu as his accomplice. Billy confesses that they killed Maureen because the discovery of her affair with his father was responsible for his mother leaving. The pair abducted Neil to frame him for their crimes and proceed to stab each other to portray themselves as the only survivors. They are interrupted by Gale's return, which gives Sidney the chance to incapacitate Billy and kill Stu by dropping a television set on his head. Billy attempts to stab Sidney but is shot by Gale. After Randy remarks that horror film killers revive for a final scare, Billy sits back up and Sidney shoots him in the head, killing him. As dawn breaks, Neil is rescued, Dewey is taken away by ambulance, and Gale provides an impromptu news report about the night's events.
