Look below at how, when Mineta told AFO to spare Tokoyami, AFO specifically went "..."

He remembers Jirou and thinks, The braying howls of the weak...

He was going to take Tokoyami's Quirk. He took Hawks'. But after Mineta pleaded with him, AFO just straight-up left and didn't take anyone else's Quirk.

AFO saw Yoichi in Mineta.

These scenes are near-identical to each other.

Mineta and Yoichi (at that time) are both much smaller than the normal person at their age

They're both hurt, yet dragged themselves up from the ground to throw something at AFO, to get his attention and make their voice

Both are considered weak, even if they have a Quirk (Mineta's Pop-Off and Yoichi's undeveloped Factor)

The fact that Yoichi got AFO's attention here by throwing a can at him, while Mineta got his attention by throwing a Pop-Off ball; and it stuck.

Mineta's call for his attention landed and actually stuck to AFO. This is unlike when Yoichi and his can bounced off, and AFO kicked him, not listening to him; AFO listened to Mineta and left Tokoyami alone, technically doing what Mineta wanted—to not hurt this person.

AFO just went on to hurt more people away from Mineta's [Yoichi's] eyes so the small weakling wouldn't see.

Yoichi and Mineta both cried to AFO to not hurt in his ways, when AFO was intent on stealing people's Quirks

AFO even stole Hawks' Quirk during this time.

He had time to steal Hawks' Quirk, and though he could've tossed him to the side, he let Hawks stand in his way.

He had the energy. Right after this event, he flew off and left the scene. But he didn't go for Tokoyami immediately.

And this let Mineta play his part, and remind AFO of Yoichi.

"A putrid, festering Quirk Factor."

That sounds like Yoichi, AFO.

This chapter (385) where AFO listens to Mineta is literally called [A Youthful Urge].

Mineta told AFO to take his Pop-Off (hurt him) instead. But last time, AFO hurt Yoichi by kicking him; this time, AFO not only listened to Mineta to not hurt Tokoyami, but didn't touch Mineta at all.

Even though this time, Mineta [Yoichi] offered to take that place of suffering.

Yoichi didn't do that back then. AFO just turned on little Yoichi anyway.

Yoichi through his whole existence is literally [the braying howls of the weak]. AFO acknowledges he's weak and idealistic, yet he still loves him.

Side note about this panel, I think it's interesting that in this vision, this was the first time we saw Yoichi's eyes: when he was being defiant, despite being pushed down by someone much stronger than him.

Really characteristic of him, honestly. Yoichi's soft-spoken and frail, but it's always reiterated that Yoichi had a powerful will against his stronger big brother.

Mineta at this moment reminded him too much of Yoichi, because the two scenes are near-identical to each other. Parallels, really.

I just realized something two of my favorite ships are shonen protagonist going feral after something happens to their lover. The similarities, both in war too. In know I'm bringing up old wounds but you can't deny its all pretty romantic.

Writing a fanfic (not fix-it) makes me realize how wasted the concept of the Nomu is.

The fandom doesn't take into account the infinite possibilities they can have. Yes, they are corpses assembled with quirks and bioengineering, but they are alive as new entities and limited to the orders of Shigaraki and AFO.

The higher the quality and category of a Nomu, the better their reasoning ability is, literally there they have the next stable step of humanity and very possibly the solution to the growing problem of the singularity of quirks.

And Horikoshi only used them 6 or 7 times as the league slaves and the Fandom either treats them like pets or as a direct bridge to angst or shipping.

i have an issue I see with ppl trying to make shippers "understand" their ship could not become canon, and I dont think many would expect it.

Why are we pretending being in your late 30s is being middle age? Dont get me wrong, being a middle aged person doesn't have to mean anything about someone, but its just- not middle age literally.

I dont really understand bringing that up anyways, iit feels wrong to me to believe just ppl in their teens and 20s could ever do anything pro LGBT+ in general... I find it insulting, as if this is a new thing or impossible to believe older people could believe in queerness in a positive light or be queer themselves. The main reason in the west, and im assuming other parts of the world, there arent as many or as visible is, well, because people were dying because of the AIDS crisis + the isolation from being older and every single public space made for or just young queers or cishet older adults.

I get the point, but if I remember correctly every time I see someone trying to do that (of course im believing they have the best intentions in mind), they have to bring up how this is a Japanese middle aged man as a good enough reason.

I don't really mind about what others want to believe or how much they care in terms of shipping -if you prefer to be casual and not paying that much attention to what's canon or not, good for you! Many ppl are also like that and its completely valid, here in this side of Tumblr might seem like all of us believe and theorize about their endgame potential bc we are the ones that usually make more posts or longer content. But I dont like those assumptions about queerness being tied to young westerners, and I wanted to rant a little bit.

Again, I dont believe that was the intention in any of those posts, and im not trying to call out anyone, just rant.

After ch362, whenever I thought about what would happen when Izuku arrived to see Kacchan lying there, my mind wandered to these scenes in Avatar with Natiri standing protectively in front of Jake's avatar, hissing at their aggressor

and how she later cradled her mate as he lay helpless in her arms.

I just had this feeling that's the vibe we were going to get with bkdk because... well...

I mean, Izuku clearly feels some amount of possession and incredible protectiveness over Katsuki... he's been with him his entire life. It's like he NEEDS Kacchan to be with him always AT ALL TIMES, safe and happy, and he completely loses his mind whenever that agenda is threatened. Of course Izuku is going to be super pissed from AFO doing this to his Kacchan and bare his fangs out to him.

And Kohei ... my god. Just the fact Kohei intuitively believes Izuku should act with this kind of feeling over Katsuki... because it is exactly in line with Izuku's behaviour all throughout the manga and by drawing this volume cover he knew he was doing his character justice. This has been his design all along and we've always known it.

Isn't it amazing? We never seem to miss the mark about anything relating to BKDK. And after the one time we thought we were wrong about Izuku going freaking feral and protective over Katsuki's injured body, Kohei really said

"Nope, you were right about that, too. You guys win again. :)”
