Lily Hopper x Oliver Arellano Headcanons!

Lily Hopper is my OC. She is the daughter of Vance Hopper and Bruce Yamada Oliver Arellano and Kenny Arellano are the sons of Robin Arellano and Finney Blake, they are also my OC's. Please, if anyone draws them or writes about them, credit me, because they are mine!

Lily is one inch taller than Oliver but when they enter senior year Oliver grows to be one foot taller than her

Lilys middle name is Rose, so Oliver brings her a rose every morning and night (she keeps all of them)

They went to the drive-in for their first date

Oliver always kisses her hand while she always kisses his forhead

They spend the night at each others houses

Finney absolutely adores Lily and Oliver's relationship and it somewhat reminds him of his and Robins relationship

Vance is very protective of Lily, but when she told him that her and Oliver were dating he was very accepting and wasn't too tough on Oliver

Kenny always teases Oliver for his relationship with Lily, but supports it and is very happy for his big brother

Bruce literally started asking them when their wedding was gonna happen once, and Lily and Oliver actually thought about it and eventually did get married

Oliver tends to make dad jokes (he gets it from Robin) and thinks that Lily would hate them, but she loves them and asks him to make one everyday

Oliver and Lily count the stars together

Lily throws notes at Oliver in class, and they have gotten into trouble before

They have promise rings (I'm a sucker for them okay)

Lily spoons Oliver whenever she spends the night at his house (he likes it)

They play with each others hair every night (it's how Oliver gets Lily to fall back asleep whenever she has a nightmare)

Happily Ever After: The Wedding

Her stomach was in knots all morning. God, she was nervous. It was the most important day of her life and she was ecstatic. Not once had the grin left her face. She sat through her hair being done by Regina and Snow, and the insistence from Ruby that she wear some makeup, but Nic still refused. Her mind kept wandering to what was taking place that afternoon, and every time it did she would get a nervous lump in her throat and began to pace. She really wished she was in her bakery right now. It always calmed her down when she was nervous or stressed. But Regina held the power and said Nic was not baking, not today of all days.

Regina was her rock all day. She kept Nic as calm as possible considering the circumstances. In all honesty Regina was equally as excited. Initially when she found out that Nic had named Snow White her maid of honor rather than herself, she was upset. But that afternoon when Nic walked into her office at town hall and asked her to walk her down the aisle, Regina cried.

Nic stared at herself in the mirror nervously and tucked some stray hair behind her ear. Then she ran a hand through her hair, and then she adjusted her glasses. Emma came up behind her and gave her an encouraging smile, hugging Nic from behind but careful not to wrinkle the wedding dress. It was pure white with a halter-neck collar, and a simple, silver waistband. It was much more plain and simple than Emma’s had been. Nic let out a deep breath.

“Don’t be nervous. You look beautiful.” Emma whispered.

“You looked beautiful. I look… plain.” Nic sighed.

Regina tutted. “That’s no way to speak on your wedding day. There will be no more of that talk.” She walked over towards the pair and swatted Nic’s hands. “And stop messing up your hair. I understand you’re nervous but that’s no need to ruin mine and Snow’s hard work.” She flicked her wrist and a brush appeared in her hand. She started brushing Nic’s hair and attempting to tame it once more.

“Well I wouldn’t be so nervous if I had the keys to my bakery.” Nic rolled her eyes as Emma stepped back to give Regina more room.

“Absolutely not,” Regina said. “You are not baking on your wedding day.”

“It helps calm me!”

Snow chuckled from her seat. “If it makes you feel better, David texted me that Archie hasn’t sat down all day.”

“That really doesn’t help.” Nic tried to push Regina’s hands away. “Regina, honestly, my hair is fine.” She sighed. “I wish I could wave my hand and my hair be exactly how I want it to look.”

“Well,” Regina continued to brush her hair, “if you hadn’t given up your magic a week ago then you’d be able to do that.”

“Yeah, when are you gonna tell Archie about that?” Emma questioned, pouring herself a glass of champagne.

Nic fiddled with her fingers. “I will… eventually…”

Snow walked over and took one of her hands. “Nic, this isn’t something you just can’t tell him about.”

“He knows how I feel about my magic, and besides it’s not like it’s gonna be a huge impact on our lives. I don’t use it on a daily basis, only for emergencies.”

“And what if an emergency comes up and he expects you to have your powers?”

Nic sighed deeply, looking at herself in the mirror. “I’ll tell him. Just not tonight.” The door to the room opened and Killian stepped in. He smiled briefly at Emma before speaking.

“Nic, you look… wow.” He walked towards her. “He’s a lucky cricket.”

Nic rolled her eyes and faced him. “Must you always call him that?”

“Term of endearment,” he winked. “Now, you have a wedding to attend, love.”

The nerves only seemed to grow as they got closer. Regina squeezed Nic’s hand and gave her a reassuring smile. As they prepared to walk down the aisle, Regina could feel Nic shaking.

“Nicole, please calm down.” She whispered.

“But Regina,” Nic squeaked, “what if I mess up my vows? What if–what if he changes his mind?”

Regina took her by the shoulders firmly. “Listen to me, Nic, you are going to be fine, and Archie would never change his mind. That’s just your nerves getting to you. Do you remember what I told you?”

Nic nodded. “Just pretend like it’s only us. We’re the only two people in the whole world.”

Regina grinned at her ex-apprentice. “You make a beautiful bride, Nic. I’m… I’m so proud of you.” She hugged Nic tightly then pulled away. “Now, let’s walk you down that aisle.”

The moment she took Regina’s arm and they entered the venue to walk down the aisle, time seemed to stop for Nic. Her eyes locked onto where Archie stood at the altar and the breath left her body. If she wasn’t being guided by Regina, Nic would have stopped and stared forever. But instead she trudged along, an almost dazed look on her face. It took her a moment to come back to reality, and when she did, she noticed Pongo sitting beside Archie, with Marco holding the leash. She stifled a small laugh at the realization that Pongo is the ring bearer.

Before she even realized it was happening, Regina handed her off to Archie who took Nic’s hands and helped her up onto the altar. She was still very much shaking, and he gave her hands a light squeeze of encouragement.

“You look beautiful,” he whispered.

She couldn’t help the red hot blush on her cheeks. “And you look… wow.”

The Blue Fairy smiled. “Are you ready to recite your vows?”

Nic took a deep breath. “Archie, when I met you a long time ago, I was in a dark place. But you still saw good in me. You believed in me when I didn’t. For that I’m forever grateful because it gave me the chance to be the person I am now. I used to be lost and hopeless because my whole life I was told by my family that we don’t get true love or happy endings. I might not be able to have that as a Hearthwood—” she gently took one of the wedding rings from Blue and slipped it onto Archie’s finger, “—but as a Hopper I can. Because you’re my happy ending.”

He smiled at her. “For a long time I wasn’t the man I wanted to be, and for a long time all I did was help people find out who they wanted to be. Then you came into my life and I learned things about myself that I never knew existed. You changed my life, changed me, for the better. You helped me become the man I wanted to be. And I never want to give that up. I want to be with you for the rest of our lives because—” he took the remaining ring from Blue and slipped the ring onto Nic’s finger, “—you’re my happy ending too.” He brought her hand up and pressed a kiss to her knuckles.

The Blue Fairy spoke. “Do you, Archibald Hopper, take this woman to be your wife, and to love and cherish her for all eternity?”

He smiled softly. “I do.”

Blue continued. “And do you, Nicole Blake, take this man to be your husband, and to love and cherish him for all eternity?”

Nic gave a smile, holding back tears. “I do.”

“Then it is with great honor that I now pronounce you husband and wife.”

Time seemed to stop completely the moment Nic reached up to cup Archie’s face. They leaned in, and her heart leaped in her chest the moment he kissed her. It was the same feeling she got the first time they kissed, and it still got her every time. It was pure happiness and love, and bound to leave her breathless. Neither of them paid any mind to the cheers or claps as they pulled away and gently smiled at each other.

“I love you, Archie.” She whispered.

“I love you too.” He whispered back.

Drink because you’ve got nothing better to do than wallow in self-pity on a Saturday night. Drink because you’re letting the straights play jump rope with your nerves. Fling your glass across the bar so you have to watch the whiskey run down your distorted, cracked reflection.  

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

EXCERPT:

There were three things that Clarke loved about Bellamy Blake

His love of world history which allowed for enough overlap with her love art that he was actually someone she could talk to about post renaissance painters and have a fulfilling conversation with. 

He was literally the kindest human on the face of the earth.  

His arms. They were great.  

She remembered the third thing as he offered her his elbow to walk her into the little diner. Which, conclusion: Bellamy was without a doubt, the kindest human of all time.

They found a table toward the back, near the jukebox that only ever played one song. It had been that way for as long as Clarke could remember and would likely stay that way until it stopped working all together. Not that it mattered. It didn’t bother the regulars – mostly grumpy older men and industrial, blue collar workers – and it didn’t bother the employees either. The only people who ever complained was the rare newcomer who always thought it necessary to blame the waitress for their own piss poor taste in music.

Mary Jane’s Last Dance played when Clarke was young and her father would take her out to watch the sunrise in the Beacon parking lot at four something in the morning. It played when Clarke was sixteen and bussing tables and sneaking links of sausage because she had already been given two formal warnings about sneaking bacon and when she was sliding ice down Octavia’s shirt on late weekend nights to keep her awake for their three graveyard regulars. It didn’t matter what she was doing or who she was or who ahead wanted to be one day; Tom Petty was always there. For Hungover Clarke, however, she could really do without the residual emotions of her past right about now.

“Is it even possible to hate Tom Petty?” Bellamy mused with a nostalgic twinkle as he slid into a booth. She knew he meant well, he always meant well. But Clarke still had to bite her tongue and actively stop herself from being a certifiable grump towards one of the only people she could stand to be around.

She waved a hand with dismissive intent and peered across the diner. It was a small joint, cracked and aged in this timeless charm sort of way with a dozen booths, six on either side of the door, and a row of diner bar top seats that always had some industrial worker with sunken eyes hunched over endless coffee and a plate of grease drenched potatoes.

There were two waitresses. The first was and older woman who had been with diner since Clarke was young named Bea. The other was younger, even more than Clarke and unlike Bea who had something a rapport with the regulars, was having hard time knowing when to approach customers and when to leave them the fuck alone.  

“Charlotte. What the fuck? We got customers!” Murphy’s head peaked out from the window behind the counter, his expression wrinkled with frustration.  

“I got it,” Bea interjected. “She’s one of my girls.”

Murphy turned towards them, eyes lighting up when he realized the customers in question were her and Bellamy. “You,” he declared, reaching an arm out of the window to point his spatula at them. “Bout time.”

Bellamy smiled. “We’re here, now.”

Ever chivalrous Bellamy Blake, acting as if it were his fault Clarke hadn’t bothered to stop by. Of course, Bea knew better than to believe it.  

“Where the hell have you been?” she asked, pushing her weight onto one hip as she set down two mugs coffee.  

Clarke reached for the obviously larger of the two mugs. “Europe.”

“That was six months ago,” Bea said.  

“New York?”

“Try again, girlie.”

Clarke shrugged. She really didn’t have an answer; at least, she didn’t have one that she was willing to admit.  

“Well, you’re here now.” Bea put her hands on her hips and sighed. “That’s what matters. Just in time for the wedding, too. Oh,” she breathed. “I never did expect to say that about Octavia.”

“Yeah,” Clarke said, looking out the window. “Me either.”

The Beacon was a tiny building that built its success through its service to blue collar railway workers and, while the railroad workforce was nothing compared to what used to be as a in their small midwestern town, the trainyard still lingered across the window pane like a distance relic and – somehow – added to the charm. Now days, hardly anyone who worked on the railway came into the diner, but Clarke always wondered what the place looked like when it first opened. Train tales had to be better the complaints of long sleep-deprived truck drivers and stoned teenagers who poured chocolate milk on their hash browns.  

The bells over the door gave an off-key chime and Clarke could hear the trudging boots of new customers filing in through the door.  

“Charlotte,” Murphy’s voice boomed. “You’re up!”

Bellamy chuckled across the table and Clarke whipped her attention back to the diner as he said, “I haven't heard Murphy this frustrated since Clarke and Octavia first left.”

Bea looked over her shoulder to the table of new arrivals where the young waitress seemed to be stumbling through her job. “It’s her first job,” she said. “She’ll get better. You and O weren’t much better when you started either. Besides, that lot’s an easy ticket. She’ll be fine.”

The table consisted of four people, each as begrimed as the last. They were covered in something black and greasy, with stringy unwashed hair and dirt ridden, sweat soaked clothes. One of them was wiping their hands clean, leaving a pile of dirty napkins in the center of the table before collecting them all and trading the used napkins to the waitress for coffee.

“They’re filthy,” Bellamy noted.

“They’re harmless,” Bea said. “So, your orders still the same? Southwest Omelet and a Beacon Traditional?”

They both nodded and Bea sauntered away to shout the orders at Murphy through the kitchen window.

“Can you believe Murphy still works here?” Bellamy asked, leaning over the table. “Eight years at the same diner.”

Clarke frowned. “Bea’s been here longer.”

“Yeah, but that’s Bea. This place is nothing without her.”

Clarke shrugged. As much as she loved Bellamy, it was hard to keep a conversation with him. It was hard to keep a conversation with anyone these days.

They fell into a sort of uncomfortable silence as Bellamy sipped at his coffee and hummed the repeating tune of the Jukebox’s only song while Clarke stared absentmindedly across the diner towards the table of four. She watched the young waitress, Charlotte, bring out four piled plates of diner classics, refill coffee mugs on at least four separate occasions and chat idly with the group about things Clarke couldn’t quite make out.

“Fuckin’ frozen hell, Princess. You gonna say hi to me, or what?”

Clarke snapped back to the table. There were two steaming plates of food in front of them, Bellamy’s half consumed and Clarke’s completely untouched and her coffee had gone cold. She looked at the plate, frowning before looking up to Murphy who had stolen a seat next to Bellamy. “Sorry,” she mumbled as she began to pick at her food. “Long night.”

“Yeah, I fuckin’ bet,” Murphy said. He pushed back his hair and leaned one elbow on the table. “I heard you go real hard these days.”

Clarke raised an eyebrow as she shoved a fork full of food into her mouth.  

“Hey, man, I hear what I hear,” he said with an innocent shrug. “Not like we’ve talked since you got back to set the story straight.”

“There’s nothing to set straight,” Clarke said.  

Murphy gripped his chest with gasp. “A woman after my own heart. No fucks and an iron liver.”

“Murphy,” Bellamy interjected. “Enough.”

“I’ll take you on on that. If you can keep up.”

Murphy balked with laughter. “Come on, princess. You really think your debauchery can keep up with me? I’ve been running the garbage kid scene since you were still a star student.”

Clarke raised her coffee mug with a smug grin. “What can I say? I’m a fast learner.”

OitNB Character Updates

Ready to binge the new season of Orange is the New Black but dont want to binge the last season to remember where at your favorite characters are at?

Under the Read More there is updates on where most of the characters left off in the last season. I divided them based on which cell block they’re in when they were in minimum. Also there’s a section on the COs and staff.

Not everyone is covered, specifically none of the new characters we met this season, but I think I covered the majority of them! Also forgive any mistakes; I tried to do my research but any mistakes pointed out will be updated! Enjoy!

‘The Suburbs’ Inmates

Piper Chapman: She’s out of here! After finally getting prison married to Alex in a beautiful ceremony, Piper has gained early release. Cal came to pick her up from prison and brought her back to his home where Neri is making something with chard. She is last seen in Cal’s car, with him asking her what she’s going to do now.

Alex Vause: Alex made a deal with the devil, or more specifically Carol, to get Badison to stop trying to steal Piper’s date. In exchange, Alex would be on Carol’s crew. No clue how things are going to change now that Carol and Barb are dead. She put in an application to law school but got rejected. She is last seen out in the yard playing kickball.

Galina “Red” Reznikov: Red’s been recovering from a rough last season. She got 10 years added on to her sentence for being a riot instigator, after being named by Piper, Freida and Nicky. Thus begins her revenge scheme against Freida. She gets frustrated with Carol because Carol is more focused on inter-block fighting than getting Frieda. Eventually, Red’s family came to visit her with the grandkids for the first time in years but she ruins it by trying to choke out Frieda and gets sent to the SHU. She is last seen joking with Gloria in the SHU. 

Tiffany Doggett: After leaving Donuts in the woods, she turns herself back in. She gets to join the ladies in B-Block (”Florida”) after making a deal with Linda. While in Florida she gets close with Suzanne and tries to get her to be more social. She convinced Suzanne to join the kickball team and go out to the yard to play. She is last seen playing kickball outside. 

Nicky Nichols: Nicky named Red as an instigator of the riot in order to get out of drug charges (since she took over minimum’s pharmacy during the riot). Red forgave her, however, because she was upfront about it unlike others. Nicky joins Barb’s crew, but she tries to be the voice of reason and peace. Once the moment of the attack happens, she convinces the D-Block girls not to fight. She is last seen playing kickball outside.

Lorna Morello Muccio: Lorna got fully into gang warfare this season but then realized how stupid it was after Piper and Alex’s wedding. Nicky has her hide in a closet in the laundry room so she won’t have to go to the bloodbath of kickball, but Lorna goes into surprise labor. She is last seen in agony being dragged to medical by one of the guards, with blood between her legs. 

Frieda Berlin: Been in hiding in B-Block. Super paranoid since Carol, Barb and Red are all after her. Crazy Eyes was acting as her bodyguard, but Frieda told Suzanne that she wasn’t her friend and pushed her away. She was last seen in her cell, smiling and eating a pudding cup.

“The Ghetto” Inmates

Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson: After pleading guilty of being a riot instigator, she went on trial for the murder of Piscatella and was found guilty. She is last seen re-entering into Litchfield, but it is unconfirmed what the sentence will be for the crime. There’s a worry it may be the death penalty, but it’s “extremely rare”.

Cindy “Tova” Hayes: Cindy deals with a lot of guilt because she testified against Taystee, in exchange for immunity for riot charges. After talking with Flaca, she realizes she needs to move on. She is last seen acting as an announcer for the kickball game.

Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren: Suzanne was put in B-Block and develops a close relationship with Frieda and Pennsatucky. She struggled with going out into the yard for fear of the gang war, but ends up joining the kickball team. She is last seen on the field playing kickball.

Sophia Burset: Ends up in B-Block. She decides not to sue FCC since they bribed her with a whole lot of money and early release. She is last seen reuniting with her wife on the outside.

“Spanish Harlem” Inmates

Gloria Mendoza: Gloria got no extra time for the riot, but told the investigators that it was Maria who instigated it. She doesn’t like all this gang warfare, and tries to tell Luschek so he will stop it. Instead, she finds out about Fantasy Inmate and threatens Alvarez to tell everyone about it, so he sends her to the SHU. She is last seen talking with Red in the SHU.

Aleida Diaz: Aleida is currently worried because Daya is getting hooked on the drugs she and Hopper are sneaking in. She eventually decides to give up on Daya in order to save her other kids. It’s unclear if she and Hopper are actually romantically together, or just together until she can get enough money to get her kids back.

Marisol “Flaca” Gonzalez: She is working as the radio DJ for the prison. She and Tova become very close as co-DJs, but she still misses Maritza. She is last seen acting as the announcer for the kickball game.

Dayanara “Daya” Diaz: Daya took a plea for murdering CO Humps. She is assigned to C-Block and starts dating/hooking up with Daddy. She eventually starts to take drugs, initially for the pain of being beaten by guards but then because she becomes addicted. She is last seen in the yard playing kickball.

Maria Ruiz: Maria is still struggling with everything that happened in the last season. She tries to turn to religion, but realizes that no one still forgives her for what happened in the riot so she joins the gang life. Eventually after a talk with the Mormon guard, she realizes she can still be a good person. She gets McCullough to make everyone choose kickball teams so the teams are mixed. She is last seen on the yard playing kickball.

Blanca Flores: Blanca tells the investigators that Maria instigated the riot, in exchange for immunity for riot charges. She learns she’s running out of time to have a baby, so she tries to sneak some of Diablo’s sperm into the prison to get prison. It doesn’t work, but she learns she is getting early release. On the day of the release, she doesn’t leave the prison but is instead put back in cuffs by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Poor Diablo is left waiting outside of the prison, flowers in hand.

 Management/CO’s

Joe Caputo: After the riot, he was put on leave and ran out of things to do. He tried to get his warden position back, but is transferred to Missouri. While packing to move, he starts to get close and invested in Taystee’s case and begins to work with other inmates to file suit against MCC, which causes him to be fired. During all of this, he is strengthening his relationship with Natalie Figueroa. He follows the case and even investigates the CERT team leader who, unbeknownst to him, covered up Piscatella’s murder. Once Taystee is found guilty, he confronts the man who punches him in the nose. He then goes to an MCC party and reunited with Fig. He is last seen getting taken care of by Fig.

Natalie “Fig” Figueroa: Fig finally admits that she is Joe’s girlfriend in this season, while still appearing in public with her gay husband for appearances. She fights with Joe about how he is so interested in the female prisoners even though they have done nothing for him. She is last seen taking care of Joe, who was punched in the nose.

Linda Ferguson: As the new senior vice president of MCC, Linda seems to have learned nothing of her time in the riot and how terribly inmates are treated. She talks about stuffing as many inmates as possible into a prison, uses bribes to stop a lawsuit and makes a completely fake commercial promoting MCC (now PolyCon). She is last seen announcing to a bunch of fancy rich people that the newest moneymaker is in immigration detention centers.

Sam Healy: Healy meets with Caputo at the beginning of the season. He is out of the psychiatric hospital, and now much more mellow. He tells Caputo that he needs to move on from the riot and put Litchfield behind him.

Joel Luschek: While at Max, Luschek becomes commissioner of the Fantasy Inmate team, as well as running the rec class. While teaching rec he gets close to Gloria. Throughout the season Luschek seems to really just not care about anything. He feels guilty that Gloria was put in the SHU after finding his Fantasy Inmate score sheets. He is last seen in a DeLorean (he’s collecting Back to the Future merch) driving away scared that the kickball game will end in a bloodbath.

Artesian McCullough: McCullough is really having a tough time with what happened in the prison. She’s struggling with anxiety, paranoia, insomnia and depression. She snaps at inmates sometimes, and whenever she loses control she is seen putting out lighted cigarettes on her thighs as a form of self-harm. At the kickball game, when Maria tries to put a stop to the bloodbath, McCullough trusts her and seems to slightly get over her fear of inmates.

Charlie “Donuts” Coates: Coates tried to make it work with Pennsatucky on the outside and wants them to escape to Canada, where they can hide out. She ends up leaving him because of his violent nature. He is last seen sleeping in a forest.

Lee Dixon: Dixon joins Coates on his road trip because he thinks Coates is suicidal. Once it is revealed that Pennsatucky is there as well, he actually accepts it and joins them at an amusement park. Once a warrant is put out for her arrest, Dixon leaves. He returns to Max as a CO. He still holds resentment towards some of the inmates for the riot. He agrees with another guard saying that the inmates are animals, but says that “there are some good ones”.

Ryder Blake: Blake returns to Max as a CO, and gets involved in Fantasy Inmate. At the opening party, he smokes pot, eventually saying “What if Joseph Smith made it all up?” After the party he drops out of Fantasy Inmate. He gets close with Maria and works with her through her anger and helps her grow in her religion. He is last seen helping Lorna to medical.

LUCY: 40 YEARS OF TELEVISION

The second half of season six moves the show to Connecticut but means the end of the half-hour episodes.  

"Lucy and the Loving Cup" (ILL S6;E12) ~ January 7, 1957

Jockey Johnny Longden (and his wife) guest star in an episode that takes Lucy on the New York City subway! Lucille Ball had claustrophobia, so the loving cup was designed with eye holes in the design. Filmed November 1, 1956. 

“The Jackie Gleason Show: At 65" ~ January 12, 1957

This program was a tribute to Eddie Cantor upon reaching his 65th birthday (which is actually a few weeks later). Lucille had done Roman Scandals (1933)  with Cantor. Burns and Allen and Red Skelton also appeared. Coincidentally, Lucille Ball was on the cover of TV Guide that week. 

"Lucy and Superman" (ILL S6;E13) ~ January 14, 1957

George Reeves guest-stars as his television superhero character, but receives no screen credit in order to preserve the fantasy for children Little Ricky’s age. Also featuring George O’Hanlon (George Jetson of “The Jetsons”) and Madge Blake (Aunt Harriet of “Batman”). Colorized for broadcast in 2015. Originally filmed November 15, 1956. 

"Little Ricky Gets a Dog" (ILL S6;E14) ~ January 21, 1957

Fred the dog was played by a Cairn Terrier whose real name was Danny. He was trained by Bob Blair and was owned by Frank Inn. Noted voice artist June Foray provided his bark (uncredited) for this episode. Filmed November 8, 1956. 

"Lucy Wants to Move to the Country" (ILL S6;E15) ~ January 28, 1957

Starting with this episode, the show begins a storyline about the move to Connecticut, although the exact town won’t be revealed until two weeks later. Eleanor Audley and Frank Wilcox play the Spauldings, who own the home the Ricardos buy. Filmed December 6, 1956.

"Lucy Hates to Leave" (ILL S6;E16) ~ February 6, 1957

The last time Lucy and viewers will see the Ricardo apartment. After six years, the show indulges in a rare moment of sentimentality. Filmed December 13, 1956. 

"Lucy Misses the Mertzes" (ILL S6;E17) ~ February 11, 1957

This is the first episode to mention the exact Connecticut town the Ricardos have moved to: Westport. This marks the only mention of rock and roll phenomenon Elvis Presley on the series. The last episode filmed (December 20, 1956) before the holiday break.  

"Lucy Gets Chummy With the Neighbors" (ILL S6;E18) ~ February 18, 1957

Frank Nelson and Mary Jane Croft are introduced as Westport neighbors The Ramseys. Betty and Ralph have a son, Bruce, played by Ray Ferrell. The episode is best remembered for Lucy’s overspending at the furniture store. Filmed January 10, 1957. 

"Lucy Raises Chickens" (ILL S6;E19) ~ March 4, 1957

Unfortunately, a few baby chicks WERE harmed in the making of this episode.  This is the first episode sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Filmed January 17, 1957.  

"Lucy Does the Tango" (ILL S6;E20) ~ March 11, 1957

The longest laugh ever recorded on the series - but it is trimmed for broadcast. During Lucille’s rehearsals for this bit hard boiled eggs were used instead of raw. Filmed February 7, 1957.  

“The 9th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” ~ March 16, 1957

Desi Arnaz hosted the event, aired on NBC. Perhaps this honor was due to the fact that once again he was the only cast member of “I Love Lucy” not nominated. Lucy lost to Nanette Fabray (”Caesar’s Hour”). Pat Carroll and Carl Reiner (also from “Caesar’s Hour”) bested Bill Frawley and Vivian Vance.  

"Ragtime Band" (ILL S6;E21) ~ March 18, 1957

Lucy gets to play the sax again, while Ethel plays the piano and Fred the violin (a new skill for him), but instead of a ragtime band, the show ends with a calypso band - singing  “Man Smart (Woman Smarter)”.  Filmed Valentine’s Day 1957. 

"Lucy's Night in Town" (ILL S6;E22) ~ March 25, 1957

Desilu was a major investor in the new musical The Most Happy Fella, so “I Love Lucy” promoted the show by having the Ricardos and Mertzes go to Broadway. Although no stage actors were seen on camera, songs from the original cast album were heard. Joseph Kearns returns to the series as the (Imperial) theatre manager. Filmed February 21, 1957. 

"Housewarming" (ILL S6;E23) ~ April 1, 1957

A newly-installed intercom causes a major misunderstanding at the Ricardo home. Filmed February 28, 1957.  

"Building a B-B-Q" (ILL S6;E24) ~ April 8, 1957

Lucy’s missing wedding ring is in the newly built (and then rebuilt) B-B-Q. Or is it?  Filmed March 14, 1957. 

"Country Club Dance" (ILL S6;E25) ~ April 22, 1957

Barbara Eden (”I Dream of Jeannie”) made one of her first TV appearances with this episode. Filmed March 21, 1957.  

"Lucy Raises Tulips" (ILL S6;E26) ~ April 29, 1957

Lucy runs rampant on a run-away lawn mower. Eleanor Audley returns as one of the judges of the tulip-growing contest. Filmed March 28, 1957.  

"The Ricardos Dedicate a Statue" (ILL S6;E27) ~ May 6, 1957 

Contrary to popular rumor, Lucie Arnaz was NOT in the final crowd scene, although Desi Jr. was. Yankee Doodle Dandy Day and the Minuteman Statue were based on actual Westport history. The very last half-hour episode, filmed April 4, 1957. 

“Lucy Takes A Cruise To Havana” (LDCH E1) ~ November 6, 1957

The first hour-long episode of what became known in syndication as “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour,” continuing the adventures of the Ricardos and Mertzes.  This first episode was actually 75 minutes and told the story of the first meeting of Lucy and Ricky in 1940 Havana. Guest stars include Hedda Hopper, Ann Sothern (above), Rudy Vallee, and Cesar Romero. Filmed June 28, 1957. 

“The Celebrity Next Door” (LDCH E2) ~ December 3, 1957

The title character was supposed to be Bette Davis, but she withdrew after a horse-riding accident and the role went to second choice Tallulah Bankhead. Lucille and Tallu did not get along. Sources say that Bankhead was drinking during the rehearsals which frustrated Ball. Richard Deacon and Elvia Allman are in the supporting cast. Filmed September 27, 1957.

It’s entirely fitting, then, that the Jazz Club of Sarasota--one of the most active jazz societies in the nation--will present “A World of Jazz” for its 38th Annual Sarasota Jazz Festival. The four-day event, from March 7-10, 2018, will feature 14 musicians from seven nations in four concerts, over a dozen locally based musicians for a Pub Crawl by Trolley, and the French art film Django. In addition, at one of the concerts the Club will present its highest honor, the Satchmo Award, to a musician for “unique and enduring contribution to the living history of jazz.” Festival activities will be presented in various Sarasota venues including Marriott’s new Art Ovation Hotel, downtown Sarasota night clubs and Burns Court Cinema. Live jazz will fill the lobby before each concert, and four special VIP receptions—for those who purchase VIP ticket packages--will add to the luster of this star-studded festival. “We’re pleased to recognize the global impact of jazz, and we’re especially honored that the celebrated Ken Peplowski, one of our audience favorites, is the festival’s music director,” said Peg Pluto, Jazz Club president. “We’re also delighted that our vice president, Ed Linehan, is managing director for the festival. Ken and Ed have both worked with our festivals before so we know we’re in good hands.  “In keeping with our theme, Ken will present the world of jazz as interpreted by internationally respected musicians and fast-rising young stars from around the world,” Pluto said. “Many of them have never played together before, and they may never share the same stage again. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event.” Acclaimed reedman Peplowski, based in New York, will both direct the international cadre and frequently join them on stage. “These accomplished performers will play the universal language of jazz, an American language that everyone now speaks,” he said. “They’ll draw on musical influences from their homeland countries—Brazil, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Japan, Sweden and the United States—to present the exciting sound of what jazz has become today.” Ken has designed a playbook of two sets for every concert, each with a different mix of performers. “We’ll present unique combinations of musicians for every set with a fresh sound for each segment,” he said. He’ll also add another treat: “After each concert, we’ll bring back all of the evening’s musicians for an All-Star jam session number or two—an improvised finale that takes us right into the very essence of jazz.” Peplowski has been highly praised and frequently honored. “Ken Peplowski is arguably the greatest living jazz clarinetist,” said Russell Davies of BBC2. Will Friedwald (The Wall Street Journal) wrote, “Mr. Peplowski sounds the way (Benny) Goodman might if he had kept evolving … polishing his craft . . . into the 21st century.” Among other credits, Ken has been a featured performer at practically every significant jazz festival, was music director of the Oregon Festival of American Music for eight years, has backed dozens of major performers, and has recorded some 50 CDs as a soloist and nearly 500 more as a sideman. He has also been a frequent performer for the Jazz Club of Sarasota, often with Dick Hyman, and in 2014 received the Club’s highest honor, its Satchmo Award, for his “unique and enduring contribution to the living history of jazz.” (Other Jazz Club Satchmo winners since 1990 have included Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, Gerry Mulligan, Ella Fitzgerald, Dick Hyman, Branford Marsalis and Family, Four Freshmen, Bucky and John Pizzarelli, and Wycliffe Gordon.) In addition to Peplowski, several other musicians will make encore appearances with the Jazz Club of Sarasota. These include Houston Person,saxophone; Diego Figueiredo, guitar; and Jeff Hamilton, drums. The festival’s house band is the Scandinavian Jazztrio: 

Writer/musician/composer Kristian Leth (Denmark), drums; a Danish Academy Award-nominated film composer and Grammy-winning recording artist who has written, performed and produced scores for TV series, films and commercials.

Hans Backenroth (Sweden), bass; acclaimed as “one of the best bass players Sweden has developed—ever!” (Arne Domnérus, Swedish jazz legend).

Ole Kock Hansen (Denmark), piano; “one of the most significant artists in modern Danish Jazz” (Wikipedia).

“Some of our festival musicians currently reside in the United States as well as abroad. We’ve hand-picked performers who beautifully understand and represent the musical influences they bring from their countries of origin,” Peplowski said. In addition to the Scandinavian Jazztrio, festival musicians (in alphabetical order) are:

 Ehud Asherie, piano, Israel; “a master of swing and stride” (New Yorker); a jazz pianist who integrates the New York piano tradition with his inventive style.

Graham Dechter, guitar, U. S.; honored in the DownBeat Critics Poll as "Rising Star Guitar" (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017).

Sinne Eeg, vocalist, Denmark; considered the preeminent jazz vocalist in Scandinavia.

Diego Figueiredo, guitar, Brazil; a fast-rising star among the world's greatest jazz guitarists; plays with an infectious, joyful feeling.

Jimmy Greene, saxophone, U.S.; GRAMMY® Award-nominated saxophonist, composer, and arranger.

The morning had started out smoothly. Despite not getting much sleep, Archie woke up to a voicemail from Nic from about midnight. There was a short phone call between the two before Nic fell asleep mid-call due to having not got any sleep at all. Most of the morning was spent getting prepared for the wedding come afternoon. Snow and Regina helped with whatever last minute finishing touches were needed. Just after noon, Archie and Nic were put in separate rooms to get ready. However, both were extremely nervous.

Archie had been pacing for the last 45 minutes without fail. August counted; he kept looking at his watch for the time. Both Marco and David had tried multiple times to calm Archie down, but David’s pep talks were less than helpful. He’ll leave it to Snow from now on. And Killian was even less helpful, sitting in a corner chair and sipping his rum, obviously amused by Archie’s distress. Pongo tried to calm him a bit, attempting to stand in the way of his pacing or standing on his hind legs to get attention. Eventually, though, Archie stopped pacing when he noticed Pongo had taken off his bow tie. It seemed like every 10 minutes he was having to put it back on Pongo.

He was in the middle of putting it back on Pongo when Henry walked in the room. “Pongo, please wear it, this is very important. You need to understand.” Archie said.

“Hey Henry,” David greeted his grandson, fixing Henry’s crooked tie. “How’s everything on the girls’ side?”

“It’s okay, considering Nic’s been begging mom for the last fifteen minutes to give her the keys to the bakery.” Henry replied, giving Pongo a scratch behind the ears.

“Sounds like she’s really nervous,” Archie mumbled. He wanted to go and comfort her, let her know everything would be okay. But he wouldn’t be able to see her for at least another hour. Then he got an idea. He scratched Pongo’s head. “I need you to do something, Pongo.”

Nic sat in the chair, arms crossed over her chest as she played with the fabric of the robe. Regina and Snow were quietly bickering in the back corner about the best way to tackle Nic’s infamously untamable hair. The only way to get it to look any semblance of decent was with magic, but Nic made the rule that no magic was allowed to be used at all. Not even for something as simple as her hair, as much as she wanted to though.

There was a bark, and some light scratching on the door. It was a familiar sound; that’s what would wake her and Archie up some mornings. Knowing it to be Pongo, Nic jumped from her seat and rushed to the door. When she opened it, Pongo pounced on her. She couldn’t help but laugh as he licked her, excited to see the person he missed. Regina and Snow looked over at the commotion.

“Is that Pongo?” Snow asked, only a little in shock.

“What is he doing here?” Regina crossed her arms and walked over to close the door.

Nic sat up, giggling at the affection Pongo was so eagerly giving her. “I’m not sure, but I’m so happy to see you.” She said, directing the last part to Pongo as she took his head in her hands and started using her baby-voice. “Did Archie send you?” She asked, still using her baby-voice. Pongo licked her face, as if saying ‘yes’ to her question. That’s when she noticed the small note attached to his collar. She removed the note and opened it, reading it quickly before tears began to prick at her eyes. Pongo whined and nudged her cheek, obviously not wanting to see his owner cry. She patted his head, muttering “I’m okay, boy” before continuing to read.

“What does it say?” Regina asked, noticing as Nic wiped away a few stray tears. She knelt beside Nic, placing a hand on her back in comfort.

Nic shook her head. “Just Archie reminding me why I love him so much.” She stood up and walked over to the vanity where Snow and Regina had set up everything. She grabbed a pen and pad from the desk and scribbled a quick, heartfelt response before attaching it to Pongo’s collar. She took Archie’s message and put it in the pocket of her robe. Then she bent down to Pongo. “You should go back to Archie,” she kissed his head. “He’ll definitely want this message.”

Regina opened the door and Pongo trotted out of the room. She closed it and looked over at Snow before looking at Nic. “Okay, now it’s time to get you ready.”

Nic wasn’t a dancer. She usually tripped over her feet or stepped on Archie’s toes. He never minded, and he especially didn’t mind now as they had their first dance as husband and wife. She was glad it was only one dance at the moment, not really enjoying the amount of eyes on her. But she kept her own eyes focused on Archie as he smiled down at her, and she wasn’t able to stop the blush on her face.

The music subtly transitioned to a different song, and Nic wouldn’t have caught on to the change if it weren’t the flood of couples coming to the dance floor. She let out a sigh of relief, glad the attention wasn’t on her anymore. The only attention she wanted was from her husband.

“Mind if I cut in?” Asked a voice.

Or not, she thought to herself. She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t secretly hoping to be able to sneak away with Archie at some point. But she should know better at this point. The newlyweds were always doted on at weddings.

“Of course not,” Archie said, stepping away and allowing David to take his place. Nic almost gave him an annoyed look, but she was too late. Snow had already traded partners and taken Archie for herself. So Nic put on a smile and allowed David to guide her although he was just as bad at dancing as she was. Growing up on a farm, he didn’t get any chances to practice formal dancing despite becoming a prince.

David smiled at Nic. “You look beautiful.”

She huffed out her nose, the tint on her cheeks getting darker. “Shut up, Charming.”

He could help but laugh. “I’m serious.” David pressed a kiss to her head. It was a gesture he did to comfort her. It was from their days in the Enchanted Forest but he refused to give up the habit. As far as he was concerned, she was the closest thing he had to a sister. “You’ve come so far since our days in the forest.” His grin grew. “I’m glad you got everything you deserve.”

“Thank you, David.” She smiled, genuinely. “I never thought I’d get this, but here I am… newly married of all things! I always thought my story would end with me alone on a farm or something.”

“Care to dance?” A second figure asked, a hook coming into view. Killian grinned at his father-in-law and Nic. “What? I couldn’t miss a chance to dance with the newly Mrs. Cricket.”

Nic rolled her eyes as David stepped aside. “If I wasn’t in such a good mood you’d lose your other hand.” She said.

Killian laughed. “Easy, love,” he teased, “save the rough stuff for your honeymoon.”

As he danced with Snow, Archie couldn’t help but try and catch a few glances at Nic as she danced with David. She looked happy, he hoped she was. All he wanted was for her to be happy.

“You can’t stop staring at her can you?” Snow asked, a playful grin on her face.

“Oh—what?” His attention snapped back to his dance partner, “I’m sorry, I couldn’t help—” he started to apologize but the smile Snow gave him said that everything was fine.

“You look happy,” she stated.

“Well I am happy.”

“I know but… I’ve never seen you like this.” She shook her head. “You spent so long trying to help other people find their happiness, I’m glad you finally get a chance to have yours for once.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.” Archie replied.

“Do you mind if I steal my wife back?” David cut in. “Hook decided he wanted to dance.” The pair ceased dancing and Snow took her husband’s hand. They both gave Archie a ‘congratulations’ before walking off to mingle.

As if on cue, Regina walked over and stood beside Archie. “I believe a congratulations is in order.”

“Thank you, Regina.” He smiled over at her a moment.

“With that being said,” she faced him, arms crossed over her chest, “I may have changed but I still regard Nic as family, so just know that if you ever hurt her there will be consequences.”

“I wouldn’t—”

“But,” she added, “I know you, and I know that no one loves her more than you do. So I’m not worried.”

An hour or so passed of mingling and dancing, most of it was separate for Archie and Nic. They had yet to spend for than five minutes together, but that didn’t stop them from stealing glances at each other from across the room. She was delighted to get to talk Marco, and even August had pulled himself away from his typewriter for the day. Her husband being the more social of the couple, Nic was sure Archie somehow had probably managed to talk to everyone attending. She was barely able to handle the dwarves as they all talked over each other and argued over who got to dance with her first. He always made everything look so easy.

Eventually Nic had enough of mingling and sat at one of the tables that circled the dance floor. She smiled and let out a small laugh as little Robin Mills and Neal Charming occupied themselves with bothering Pongo who was attempting to sleep underneath the table next to where Nic was sitting. After a few moments alone, Snow sat down at the same table as Nic, smiling at her.

“Congratulations,” Snow began with. “Nic, I hope you know you deserve this.”

“Thank you,” Nic smiled as she spotted Archie and Emma dancing, “I can’t believe this actually happened.”

“Believe it,” Snow laughed. “We’re all so happy for you. I remember how alone you kept yourself for the longest time, how you refused to admit when you had feelings for him.”

Nic rolled her eyes playfully. “And then you and David set us up on a date.”

“But it still took him getting kidnapped a second time for you to finally confess.”

“That was an accident. I didn’t mean to, I mean it would’ve happened eventually but… I didn’t mean for it to come out like it did.”

“But look where you are now.”

“Yeah…” Nic chuckled.

The conversation got quiet as Rumplestiltskin and Belle walked over. Belle was holding Gideon on her hip, but they all held smiles.

“You guys made it,” Nic said relieved. She hugged Belle tightly for a moment.

“Of course we did,” Belle laughed, “we wouldn’t miss this for the world.”

“There is one thing,” Rumple started. “You still owe me a favor.”

“And you want me to make good on that now?” Nic raised a brow.

Rumple held out a hand. “How about a dance?”

She blinked, not expecting that. “Oh, uh, as long as that’s okay with Belle.”

Belle shook her head, “I have no problem with it.”

Nic took Rumple’s hand and let him guide her to dance. Belle sat down in the seat Nic had previously occupied, Gideon in her lap as Snow cooed over the toddler.

“You look very lovely, I must say.” Rumple said. “Belle and I were delighted when we got the invitation.”

“Archie insisted,” Nic replied. “He hoped you two would come.”

“We couldn’t pass up the chance, and I don’t think I ever did thank him for officiating for Belle and I.”

“I’m sure he’d be glad to see you,” Nic told him, gesturing in the direction where Archie was talking with Henry and Marco. “He’s been talking to people all evening, it’s very like him.”

Rumple nodded, giving her a hug and gesturing for Belle to follow so they could greet Archie together. Belle took Gideon from his spot on Snow’s lap and followed her husband, the couple giving Nic a ‘congratulations’ before walking over to the groom. She sighed and started to walk back over to where Snow was sitting when a hand gently took her wrist. Looking over her shoulder, she smiled when she saw her husband.

“Hey,” she greeted him. This was the first time she’s felt relaxed all evening. He always seemed to have that effect on her. “I’ve missed you.”

“I missed you too,” he smiled, leaning down to kiss her softly. “We’ve both been quite busy.”

She huffed, “Tell me about it.”

“I–I have a surprise for you.” He told her anxiously.

She raised a brow. “Oh?”

He nodded. “Yes.” Archie pressed a kiss to Nic’s head and took her hand in his, tugging her towards the dance floor. She resisted for a moment, not having another dance in her. But his touch and the look he gave her made her almost give in.

“Archie,” she whined softly.

He stepped forward, bringing her hand up to press a kiss to her knuckles. “Just one last dance, please.”

Nic thought for a moment before nodding. “One last dance.” Archie smiled and pulled her towards the dance floor. He pulled her close, hands on her waist as the music began to play. The beginning of the instrumental started, and Nic instantly recognized the song. It was her favorite song, something Archie sometimes softly sang to her when she woke from a nightmare on the rare occasion. She started to tear up at just the music.

“Well I've heard there was a secret chord,” he softly started to sing to her. Nic couldn’t help as she stared at him in awe. The song that she loved the most in the world and here he was singing it to her as they had their last dance. “That David played and it pleased the Lord. But you don't really care for music, do you?”

Nic couldn’t stop smiling as she listened to him.

“Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, th—”

She couldn’t stop herself from kissing him, pulling him down and pressing her lips to his. A few tears fell down her cheeks but she didn’t care, all she cared about was her husband. Once they were both out of air, she pulled away, smiling at him tearfully.

“I love you so much, Archie Hopper.” She whispered.

“I love you too, Nicole Hopper.” He whispered back.

And they lived happily ever after...
