The Redwoods forest of Rotarua is an incredible spot to visit. The effort that has gone into to development of the section of forest as a tourist attraction to get all inspired with the beauty and ultimately the conservation of trees is mind blowing. The blue water and white sandy beach of Kilwa Masoko in Tanzania is a paradise of its own. Here the bay provides a safe harbour for the many subsistence and small scale commercial fishermen. Many still use traditional makoros and hand carved boats, often from locally harvested trees. The trees are a way to allow the fishermen to work, but the extensive plunder of the trees for charcoal and illicit deforestation for the Chinese is putting many people at risk.
