A Step by Step Guide to Losing Your D**k

I recently wrote a series of messages to my aunt talking about all the steps I need to do to get bottom surgery, a penile inversion vaginoplasty at Mt. Sinai, in the next year or two. Its a long list. And everytime I added something she had a sort of “wow thats rough” reaction, but to me its just the to do list. So I decided to write them all out.

Start transition DONE

Most insurance companies and surgeons require you to have socially transitioned and have done HRT for at least 1 year at the time of operation

For social transition, this was March of 2024

For HRT it will be January of 2025

Get a referral to a surgeon (I am here)

In my case, Mt. Sinai in Manhattan

My Doctor referred me, but Mt. Sinai takes self referrals

Start laser hair removal

Book a consultation (I am here)

Go to laser frequently enough to satisfy surgeon

Convince Mom and Dad to help out DONE

Get 2 letters

Social Worker (1)

PCP's Office

Social Worker (2)

Mt. Sinai

Get a gender affirmation loan through the local credit union

Work two weeks so I can take in pay stubs

Get a letter from anybody (probably my HRT prescriber

Meet with representative and either open a line of credit or take out a loan

Consultation with Mt. Sinai’s team

Beware of mistakes, this is simply what my mind produced after a long period of having no motivation. It’s relatively short, but there will be more parts.

Summary of pt.1: Theodore Nott was dating Pansy, but also seeing you in secret at the same time. After pondering and dealing with moral dilemmas, you decided to end it. But just as you were getting closer with Pansy, she finds out, and this is how it goes from then on. I recommend you read pt.1 of “All because I liked a boy” for better context.

For two weeks now you’ve been trying to crawl your way back into the semi-friendship that you and Pansy shared. All in vain. There was simply nothing that could make up for what you did. No object expensive enough and no apology genuine enough to turn things around. The last conversation in class that you had went like this…

“I know you don’t want to hear it, but-“

“Then shut up”

“Pansy what will it take for me to redeem myself, please just tell me, I truly want to make it better”

She raised her hand after you said that and loudly announced that she couldn’t focus with you next to her. Now you sat next to Daphne. It was looking hopeless.

…

“LETS GO FRESH MEAT, NO SLACKING OFF!”, yelled Angelina. It’s not like you were doing it on purpose. You were considerably good at quidditch, but playing with your friends and playing competitively for house pride were two different things. Especially with Harry Potter, one of a kind wunderkind, on your team too.

Everything was dizzying around you. The players zoomed by so fast that you couldn’t even tell apart who was who. The balls flew up down left right, one blink and you could be knocked off your broom. Quidditch had never felt this intense. You try to manage and not drag the team down, but you don’t seem to be contributing much either. It’s alright considering you were “fresh meat”, but then you remembered that Harry caught the snitch as a first year…

Although Harry was team captain, Angelina was actually taking over the leader role.

“PASS NOW!”, she yells, and you’re not sure who she’s directing it at.

You frantically turn and freeze upon seeing a quaffle flying at you at maximum speed. It was now or never. The quaffle gets closer and closer, so close that you swear it was only millimeters away from your face. Failing was unacceptable at this point. And your reflexes don’t disappoint you. You reach out and your palms get hit with the immense pressure of the ball. It was almost painful, but you had to soldier through.

You’re not sure if it was the right call, but when some guy was hinting at you to pass the quaffle to him, you don’t. Your road to scoring wasn’t particularly blocked, and you had a shot. With one hand steadily holding the quaffle, and the other gripping onto your broom for dear life, navigating you through the players, you inch closer and closer to the rings and…

“SCOREEE!!! THAT'S HOW WE DO IT FRESH MEAT!”

You let out a fucking sigh. That was exhilarating. Hopefully you’d soon go from “fresh meat” to your own name, but all within due time. Right now, being the Gryffindor team's newest chaser addition was enough to satisfy you.

“TEAM HUDDLE”, Harry commanded so you all got into a circle before leaving today's practice session. “Don’t forget, we have a match against the Slytherins in five days, so I want all of you to be in top shape. Sleep enough, eat well, and no distractions” You all nod in unison to his last words, and leave the field one by one.

Frankly it was a bit nerve wracking that you had to play in such an important match, while having just joined. You didn’t want to disappoint everyone after all. But you remind yourself that there is a good reason for which you were accepted.

Your legs and arms ache from that intense practice match, causing you to slump a little while walking. In the dressing room you are left behind, with the others leaving one by one. As you’re about to step out too, you freeze at the sight of who was standing before you.

“So I see you made the team”, Theo carefully states.

You can only gulp at his words. You weren’t sure what this was going to lead up too.

“What made you join? I mean you are really good”

What was he doing? Oh, and the reason? You can’t help but think back to a certain first conversation with someone.

“I come in peace”, he continues saying.

Something made you think that that wasn’t entirely true.

“So what do you want?”, you finally respond.

“I don’t know. I guess…���, Theo suddenly goes silent in the middle of his sentence.

“Guess what?”

“Nevermind”, he swallows. “Good luck for the upcoming match anyway”. He then slowly turns and walks away, head down as if he was terribly ashamed.

So much for no distractions. You completely forgot that Theo played too. How fun that would be.

I've been compleatly OBSSESED with neon void so far!!! It's by far my favorite fic of any I've read!! After every chapter I have to take a second to do the happy stimmies because you write all of the scenes so well. Whenever I see a new update I clear the next hour for reading it and the subsequent geek out sesion for how AMAZING it always is. You write extremely well, you convey the characters so acurately, the fight scenes are creative, the way you write Leo's perspective is AMAZING, love the font changes, the angst PALPABLE, and just over all I love everything you're able to do with this concept. The way you can see Leo's mental state deteriorating through out the fic is just *chefs kiss*. There's so much I love about the fic that I can't possibly list everything.

Also the established difference between teleporting and portaling is so great, it adds to the pure panic that void causes for the boys aside from, y'know, crazy dude capable of beating Big Mama within an inch of her life and STRAIGHT UP OFFING a buch of other yokai. It does wonders for establishing him as a threat even though he technically isn't for the turtles. Plus I'm sure that once they find out who Void really is, it will add a bunch of tension since they'll need to stop Leo from literally SCATTERING HIS ATOMS ACROSS SPACE.

AND THE CHAPTER PREVIEW ISTG I've never gotten so much serotonin from being in this much pain ;0; The gif is perfect to set the mood, I can't wait to see what happens. You're ablility to choose just the right thing to stab so many people directly through the heart is nothing short of super-natural. BUT PLEASE give the boi some happiness, if not for his sake, for mine-

ANYWAYS this is all a VERY long way of saying, I absolutely love this and I had to draw the silly boi being the silly boi. I needed to draw him happy for the health of my heart ;-; (don't worry though, I'm working on some tasty angst right now)

Can't wait to see where everything goes, GOOD LUCK TO CASEY but there only six chapters left so we're getting to the end game now >:D

Something i really, REALLY loved about Rise was the fights. Not only was the animation amazing, but it was always so creative. I try my best to make the fight scenes as silly as the boys can be, while utilizing their adaptive skills to use their surroundings to their advantage.

And bruh trying to balance Leo’s insanity in a believable way has been such a (fun) challenge so it makes me so happy to hear you like it 😭🥺 and I’m so glad people seem to like the ‘teleportation’ gimmick I’ve got going on (and that it hopefully makes sense omg)

(And i will admit I’m a little proud of my chapter previews because they are so fun to write, and i like to reassure readers that 1) i have a plan and 2) I’m keeping myself accountable to finish LOL)

You're Weird--Im Weirder Pt. 4

part 1, part 2, part 3,

Steve has a decision to make. 

The last time he gave a gift to Eddie, he was in a bit of a panic. He had a tiny window of opportunity last time because the object of his attraction was too far away to be safe about it. The whole ordeal almost ended in disaster and with Steve without his favorite pair of shorts. He was lucky, Eddie went off somewhere and Steve got lucky. Steve would be damned to be caught off guard again. 

That still leaves him with options. Due to the slightly more flirty nature of last time’s pair, Steve’s slow increase in his teasing had jumped forward in the planned escalation. Either Steve pretends it didn't happen or… 

Steve could try to rile Eddie up. The idea makes him warm and wriggly, and he has the perfect pair to get the job done.

When Steve took Robin out to replace last week’s casualty, he walked away with a bit more than planned.  The new pair are more reminiscent of girls' panties than shorts, high cut with dainty patterns. In truth they’re one of the few pairs that make Steve blush. 

If all goes well Steve might even land himself a date. 

When Sunday rolls around Steve is prepared. Sudsy’s is near completely empty today, Eddie is there of course chatting politely to the laundromat’s owner Pam. Steve takes a deep breath before entering and waves jollily at the pair. 

So far so good. Steve manages to secure the machine next to Eddie’s (it's easy to tell with the sheer amount of band tees) and hurriedly starts the first load. That’s the easy part. The trick is a carefully timed tug below the waistband of his jeans as he bends down to dump in e washing soda. When he leans back Steve slips his thumbs into the waistband and stealthily two thin and dainty straps over his hips. 

After readjusting his shirt Steve is certain that it’s not noticeable to the average passer-by unless Steve lets them notice. 

Now all Steve has to do is wait. 

It all has to play out perfectly, has to go just right, He can't afford another fumble. To keep himself in place and hopefully prevent him from doing anything stupid, Steve sits down in front of one of the empty machines.  

In a stroke of luck Eddie wanders over without prompting. Which considering how Steve wasn't able to actually get near Eddie last time is a nice improvement. 

Eddie is wearing the butchered remains of a plain black T-shirt. It’s been cut into a tank top with the sides cut low, it's even got a few artistically cut holes that show off peeks of skin that Steve is trying really hard not to stare at. Unfortunately redirecting his gaze leads to Steve staring at where the shirt has naturally ridden up and Eddie’s low swung sweatpants don’t cover.  

“Hey” Eddie says, voice gruff. Steve's head snaps up, fuck he’s caught. He must look startled because Eddie raises an eyebrow “good morning?” The way Eddie says in a kind of prompting, almost sarcastically demanding, tone makes something stir within Steve. He can imagine them out with friends and Eddie teasing him in that tone; say hello Stevie, be a good boy. Steve manages to save himself from further embarrassment and respond with his own good morning. 

“Sorry we didn't get to talk last week” Steve says after a beat, “you're really fun to talk to and I missed it” he smiles for good measure. Eddie’s eyebrows disappear even further into his hairline (which is mostly just impressive instead of sassy) and he grins slow and easy.

“Dwaww you missed me!” Eddie drawls teasingly, his tone reminiscent of someone talking to their dog when they get home. “Don’t let your buddies hear that or you’ll never hear peace.” 

Steve fights the blush trying to bloom across his cheeks and nods.

wait …

“What buddies?” Steve wonders. He tilts his head despide the twinge in his neck from looking both up and sideways. “Do you mean robin?” Seriously, who is Eddie talking about? Perhaps its the honest look in Steve’s eyes but Eddie is taken aback for a second before he shrugs so Steve lets it go.

The taller boy nudges Steve with his foot good naturedly before unloading his machine. It’s really nice to continue the routine of chatting while doing laundry together. 

If it weren't for Eddie pausing awkwardly mid conversation every once and a while (and the fact there is a very public very dingy laundromat) Steve can imagine them goofing off together in a home they share. It’s so easy to imagine them bumping hips while folding towels and distracting each other with kisses while loading the dryer. Steve can imagine how easy it would be for Eddie to lift him on to the machine and pin him in place so eddie can–

“Dude your loads done” Eddie (the real one) buts in to Steve’s day dream 

“Yeah it is” Steve breaths huskily 

“What?”

“What?” 

Steve looks up at Eddie and blinks up at him innocently. In a way it's just part of the plan, not at all Steve being a complete idiot, not one bit.  

The impromptu staring contest ends when Steve gracefully and elegantly clambers back up on two legs like a concussed baby deer. 

Steve pops open the laundry machine door and leans in to start grabbing clothes. Just as planned, his too loose shirt slides up (forward?) and reveals the criss cross straps over Steve’s hips. 

It's the boldest thing Steve has ever worn. From the front it's just a normal (if not incredibly skin tight) pair of pajama shorts, but the sides, the sides are a whole nother story. Instead of sides there is a lattice of straps that criss-cross up his thighs and over his hips, squeezing the softness that rests there. 

And now Eddie is getting an eyeful. 

Steve rights himself after unceremoniously plopping a handful of shirts and a sock back into his laundry basket and risks a glance at Eddie. The other boy is bright red and has his shoulders by his ears. Steve could pretend Eddie looks bashful if it weren't for the deep want he sees in the others eyes. Instead he throws the rest of the plan out the window.

The plan was to let Eddie sneak a peek before slipping away for a quick change so he could drop his gift in Eddie’s clothes. But why go through all that when Steve could just lean into his space, look at him through his lashes and wet his lips. 

“Hey Eddie?” Steve coos, blinking languidly, “I really like when we hang out” he shifts even closer to Eddie to bring them nose to nose. Steve can feel Eddie's breath catch in his chest and grins sweetly. “Do you want to come to my place? Nobody’s home so I would love to have some company.” 

Apparently Eddie’s words are failing him because the boy nods rapidly and with enthusiasm instead. 

Later when they lay cuddled together in bed Steve thinks he could never be happier. Eddie lounges on his back with Steve draped over him, head resting on his chest, and with his arms wrapped around Eddie’s torso. 

“Hey Steve?” Eddie murmurs, running a hand up and down his lovers back idly tracing the constellations along his spine.

“Yeah?” he sighs dreamily in response. Steve turns his head to meet Eddie’s gaze and feels himself go gooey; he could stay like this forever. Being snuggled against the man he has loved from afar for so long feels so right. 

“I have something to tell you, and I really hope you can forgive me.” Eddie says cautiously. Oh no, Steve shifts onto his elbows and pushes himself to sit. 

Steve feels his worry pinch at his face and knit his eyebrows together. He worries his lip between his teeth for only a moment before he can bring himself to speak. 

“Eddie? what’s wrong?” Was he only an experiment for Eddie, is that what he's going to say? Is he going to be told this was a one time thing? Steve feels guilt tugging at his spine, Eddie is his own person Steve should respect it if that's the case not dread and despise the thought, should leave it be if that's what Eddie wants. 

Eddie steels himself with a steadying breath and meets Steve’s gaze. Eddie is trying to sooth him, rubbing up Steve’s arms and supporting his elbows. He’s so sweet; being open and honest and breaking his heart, but he’s still trying to help steve. Holding him and supporting him because he’s so sweet and he cares. Steve cares for him too, whatever he says Steve will honor because he cares for Eddie, loves him enough to let him go. 

“For the past couple weeks I have been stealing your underwear” 

Steve collapses in a fit of giggles. Oh he feels so bad but he does. He’s so relieved and it's so funny, he can't bring himself to feel sorry for Eddie’s confusion or for the noise he lets out when Steve’s weight plops back on top of him. 

Steve tilts his face and peppers happy kisses along Eddie's jaw. 

“Bu–but Stevie? You’re not mad?” 

Gleeful giggles bubble up from Steve’s chest once more 

“I’ve been giving them to you!” he gasps “of course i’m not mad!”

Eddie's hands are still in the air, supporting the memory of Steve's arms that just slipped from his gentle hold. 

“Are you trying to tell me that you, Steve Harrington, for the past several weeks have been slipping me your underwear!” Eddie blurts incredulously. 

“Yes!” Steve giggles “I was trying to flirt!” he knows Eddie cant see his eye roll but knows deep down Eddi can sense his amused exasperation. 

Eddie flounders a bit, flapping his mouth open and closed. 

“And they call me a freak!” Eddie is giggling now too.

“baby “ Steve smirks “your weird but I’m weirder”

I am so deeply, incredibly, sorry this took so long. The fanfic author curse kicked in and my internet tried to kick the bucket. I've been writing this thing in literally thirty-minute intervals because of that and I thought it was fixed but no! It took another two full days to get back on track. I managed in the end and got this part finished and that's all that I really care about in the end.

Hello friends! I, along with my co-mod, timothysboxers, are thrilled to announce that 25 Days of Draco and Harry will run again in 2023. We want to thank @navi1088 for creating this art for our banner.

For those who may not be familiar with this challenge, I have included the rules at the end of this post, and I encourage you to read these.

And for the loyal fans of 25 Days of Harry and Draco: In 2023, we will be doing both Early-bird and Traditional prompts as usual. Again, we're running on LJ, DW and tumblr – the rules will be the same as last year.

Because it seemed to work out quite well last year, the Early-bird Prompts will once again be available in late October, and we will be including the Image Descriptions along with the prompts.

Early bird prompts will be available no later than Sunday, 22 October, allowing creators over 5 weeks and some change to work on their posts.

Also, we will have the Discord server specifically for 25 Days of Draco and Harry participants. Like last year, this will be a place where early bird participants can discuss (in a channel just for them) the prompts and how they might use them. Traditional participants will join the general section of the server in December.

The 2023 rules at a glance, for those familiar with the concept:

25 Days of Draco and Harry 2023 - Traditional

No changes from prior years. A photo prompt is posted starting at midnight EST 1 December, and you create a work based on that prompt and post before the next day's prompt goes up.

Each of your posts can be part of a larger work or they can stand alone.

25 Days of Draco and Harry 2023 - Early Bird

You receive access to all 25 photo prompts no later than midnight (EST) Sunday, 22 October. This is the same time frame as last year. Hopefully this will give you time to prepare and create for 25 Days before the insanity of December starts.

You will post one work per day for each prompt. This can be a stand-alone story or each day can be a part of a bigger story. We may even get a pod-fic this year of a past 25 Days fic and that would be posted a chapter a day. ♥

The advantages are this:

1) you can use the picture prompts in any order you chose

2) you can start creating early and have many of your posts ready to go before December 1st.

3) you get the prompts all at once so you can pre-plan your story or your use of each day's prompt.

The basic rules of 25 Days of Draco and Harry – Traditional Edition:

The challenge is to write a drabble, ficlet, story (whatever) for the pictures posted each day from 1 Dec to 25 Dec. Your fic for each prompt must be a minimum of 100 words – but there is no maximum. They can be twenty-five one-shots or each one can be a part of a bigger story. Pictures will be posted at midnight EST and you have until the next midnight to complete your work.

Yes, you may combine this with other communities or tumblr prompts.

Your fic does not have to be a story of the picture – you can use a part of the picture or whatever that picture says to you. We're pretty flexible around here.

Traditional Prompts must be used in their posted order. If you fall behind, you can post more than once a day to get caught up. You're also welcome to post as life allows, meaning you don't have to worry about being on time. You can also combine a few days or prompts into one fic/ficlet/drabble/etc. But the true challenge is to post every day for 25 days within the 24-hour time frame.

You do not need to sign-up for the Traditional edition, the prompts will be made available beginning 1 December at midnight EST.

While you're not required to, you are encouraged to add your story to the AO3 collection by adding "25 Days of Draco and Harry 2022" to your submissions, under collections, when you post them to your own AO3 account. A link to the collection will be provided in the official rules post after it has been created.

You blush, bringing your camera up to your face in an attempt to cover up.

"Phoebe you made her blush!!!" Says Lucy.

You feel your face get redder, also noticing Phoebe's doing the same.

"Well y/n, why don't you play with us? We've still got 30 minutes before we need to be ready," Julien says

"If you're offering…I'd love to get to know everyone before the show!" You reply.

"Yay! I was hoping to get to know you better," says Phoebe, patting the spot on the couch next to her.

This is a dream, considering you've had the hots for her since Stranger In The Alps came out.

The rest of the boys' touring team leaves, going to double check everything before the show starts and leaving you four alone. After about 15 minutes of conversation, Lucy and Julien announce that they're going to go change. Phoebe already has her outfit on, her signature skirt, and a white button up with no bra.

"Like what you see y/n?" Says phoebe, catching you looking at her perfect breasts visible through her shirt.

You decide to go along with her flirty antics, replying, "Yes phoebe, I do like what I see."

Phoebe lights up, coming closer to you on the couch, her hand on your thigh.

Phoebe has her back to the door, as Tiana, the bass player for tour, peeks into the room with a look of shock, and mouths to you "10 minutes," putting both hands up to symbolize and closing the door as she leaves.

"Phoebe! Tiana just walked in and demonstrated that you only have 10 minutes."

"Oh shit, I can't go on stage this turned on, baby."

"Well, I have a solution to that," you say, reaching your hand up her skirt, looking up and making sure that it's ok with her.

TCR EPISODE 9

Fuck- this episode was so tense and heartbreaking but so so good! Definitely the toughest episode to watch so far. Masterclass in acting from all the cast involved! Major spoilers below!

1. With minimal dialogue from Danny this episode Tom brilliantly spoke through his eyes/body language to convey Danny’s inner thoughts/emotions. I truly was heartbroken watching Danny watch Candy betray him and stay loyal to Marlin. Also his face during the final scene! I truly couldn’t handle it.

2. The actress playing the DA is eating fr. I will definitely have to check out more of her work! Christopher Abbott has also been giving a wonderful performance these past few episodes. I’m such a big fan of his work and TCR has been a great addition. They truly are the backbone of the trial and have been doing a great job raising bigger issues/questions about Danny’s overall place.

3. Annabelle, Angelo, and Jerome taking the witness stand was a great addition. You could tell that they all were sort of empathetic to the internal struggles Danny has been dealing with(whether or not he deserved it in those specific situations). Jerome-I love you fr! I’ve loved his performances from these past two episodes and am grateful that he has been able to show a more gentle/vulnerable side to Danny and his alters.

4. Candy! I appreciate that the episode established that she was at the receiving end of abuse too. “Guilt or Grief, which one can you bear” is such a banger line and it was interesting to see how Candy reacted to it. I HATE that she did that to her own son but I get why she was so afraid. She wasn’t ready to lose everything so she decided push her own son further away by lying. Truly a shame fr! I hate Marlin so so so much! Appreciate the actor giving this role his all because he’s truly made Marlin such a despicable character lol. The look of heartbreak between Candy and Danny after she took the stand will haunt me.

5. The final scene! I had such a visceral reaction to this scene it was crazy! I knew that the binder clip was going to come back in a dangerous way. The look of solemn terror but also relief after Danny harms himself was so heartbreaking I legit started to sob. I do appreciate the show not showing the action of abuse or self harm but rather the characters reactions to it. I think this is a really smart way to emphasize the emotional/psychological toll it takes. I have a lot of questions about the outcome of Danny’s action in this scene but i guess we’ll find out more next week!

6. Spoilers!- From the set pictures and locations used during the filming of episode 10 it seems that whatever the outcome of the trial is Danny hopefully (eventually) gets sent to a mental facility upstate! Looks like some time has passed and Rya goes to visit Danny. He even has his scars from where he harmed himself! I’ll put some of the set pics below! This is truly saving me from having a full freak out about this episode lol.

Hopeful that we get to have some closure for Ari, Jonny, and the other alters in some capacity in the next episode. Hopefully Candy steps up in some way in the next episode as well. I also am looking forward for Danny’s defense (including Rya) to get a fucking win in the incoming parts of the trial. This show has truly done a great job giving example to the nuanced history mental illness has had within the social/judicial/political systems at play here in the U.S. Can’t believe we’re at the finale already! Looking forward to seeing these storylines get wrapped up. Great job all around! Bravo Tom!

End of Act 1 Update

Hey there Cthalians! As of yesterday, the last chapter of Cthalia's first "act" was released on Toyhou.se. You may be asking yourself what I mean by act. Essentially, the book's plot is split into four main sections, and to make tracking release easier for myself, I refer to those sections as acts (or arcs, but upon doing a google search, I realized thats probably not the correct term to be using lol). Plus it feels really cool to say~

Okay, neat! But that does that mean, exactly? The biggest thing it means is that we're about a quarter of the way through release. Crazy how quick these past two months have gone by, huh? However, it also means that I have a few things planned to celebrate the end of the act~

First off, storytime readings will resume in the Discord server! If you're interested in hearing chapters read live on weekends, the link to the Discord server is in the pinned post of this blog.

Sometime within the next two weeks, I plan to hold an art raffle here as well as on Toyhou.se as a way to promote the story. Entering will give you a chance to receive a drawing of any character you want from me, and also help spread the word about Cthalia. Keep an eye out for that announcement!

I plan to hold a popularity poll soon for the main characters. If anyone has recommendations for a site to use, please let me know, I've never done one before.

Finally, I have a new video project in the works. If all goes according to plan, it should be up before the next chapter post~

Also, yes, Jules will be getting a reference sheet ASAP. Art block made me fall behind schedule this month and I have to prioritize the act 1 special video ^^;

Woah! So much stuff! But I'm wondering… will there be a hiatus between acts? Nope! Chapters will continue at their normal schedule. Act 2 will start on Saturday, November 30th, with a live reading that afternoon too (hopefully). I do not plan to take any hiatuses with the release of Cthalia, but will always notify in advance if I somehow happen to need one.

I am alive! After a long delay (forced to work in office for 2 weeks killed me), here's my post on the chosen dnd cookbook recipe!!! lmao

I chose to make the Vedbread! They're mushroom rolls with cheese. Not exactly a meal by themselves, but I just really wanted to try them so bad lmao

The recipe calls for a different kind of mushroom but they say you can use shiitake, so that's what I went for. I had to buy a lot of shiitake sdfsg

Anyway, let us begin!

First thing to do is to dice the mushroom. I unfortunately don't have a food processor yet so I had to do it by hand. It...took a while.You cook the mushroom with salt and butter until the moisture is gone and they're all nice and grilled. You also dice some shallots and cook them with! And finally when this is all cooked you remove from the heat and add parmesan and fresh thyme. I'll admit I didn't feel like spending the extra money for fresh parmesan so I just used the cheap stuff I had in my fridge, which I admit probably changed the flavor but it was still tasty so wtv!

While this is cooking and smelling delicious you prep the dough. Shred some gruyère and all that.

The shredded cheese goes directly into the dough! It's a chunky dough. You have to knead it just enough thats its smooth and incorporated. Then you have to spread it in a rectangle, which was somewhat challenging due to my lack of tools and preparation lmao. Ignore the ball of saran wrap I dont wanna talk about it

Then you spread the mushroom mixture all over this nice rectangle!

Struggle number 2, rolling it up in an even tube! Mine was not even at all but it was a tube! Then you have to try and cut it into equal pieces. Mine were....not equal pieces but the show much go on! They tell you to trim off and discard the ends but since there's no eggs in the dough I just ate it. Which legally I can't recommend bc raw flour can also be bad for you (more likely to, iirc) so do as I say, not as I do!

FINALLY you place them side-up on a baking sheet and brush them with an egg wash! And then you pop them in the oven!!! And then you take them out and be in awe and the delicious rolls you have just created!!

These were super good! And I'm saying as someone who generally doesn't like cooked mushrooms, but I've been making an effort with shiitake lol. If you like the general flavor of shiitake but don't really like the texture of cooked mushrooms, I really liked these bc the mushrooms are minced really small! The cheese is also really good. They kept SUPER well at room temp in an airtight container and they reheat in the oven really quickly and for the entire week that I've eaten them they tasted always fresh after a little trip in the oven. This was definitely a nat20 on recipe choice!

Those of you who were looking forward to this I apologize for the time it took but I changed projects at work and it's been a nightmare lmao. I'll probably be stuck in office for a week and a half soon again so I probably won't do the next poll within that time, but hopefully soon. I might do a noodle recipe from one of the star wars cookbooks tho just cuz i feel like it. I haven't actually cooked a whole lot lately bc of work :'D So I kinda miss it. Anyway I hope that was mildly entertaining, and get out there and make yerself any kind of bread rolls bc everybody deserves breadrolls. (Cough cough check out misohungrie's video if you want the precise recipe cough cough)

rwys is still going! i promise it is I'm just very into one piece atm so I'm working on fangs and funhouses a lot; I'm also at a point in rwys where i have the first part of the chapter down, but am not sure how to end it

for the time being, blood in the water and good-hearted gunmen are going to be on pause. this is just until i can get a better handle on my health, schooling, and work :)

“Terra here. I don’t have very much to say yet again, as not much has gone on. As you may have read above, I created all of the lore for Hex the other day and we’ve made some more progress on one of the songs. As seen above, this song has a more "cinematic" style, which may make more sense once we release the full thing. Once we get more designs finished we can do thumbnails and other things, allowing us to finally post songs.”

“Hey, it’s Alter, back again with yet another newsletter section (podcast ah intro). Getting straight to the point, I’ve been trying to pick up my work pace on stuff (though I get really paranoid that things aren’t made right when they absolutely are, so that definitely doesn’t speed anything up…I’m sure some of you get the feeling). SoulBlast-wise, to be honest, not much has been done, Terra’s been writing some lore that I kinda not really help out with. Deltaswap-wise, progress has been going pretty good…I’ve been starting to revise some dialogue to account for the finalized lore, and I’ve begun designing Berdly! Harry Style's POV

My mother's face was priceless when I accidentally let slip that I had a crush on Queen Y/N. She was so happy. 

I ask "Mum? Mum? Are you okay?" She excitedly exclaims "My wee lil boy has a crush! I'm chuffed!" I laugh and ask "So can we go visit with Y/N & her family?" She smiles and says "I will call her mom and ask."

At lunch, my mom exclaims "Great news everyone! We will be leaving tomorrow morning and staying with Y/N and her family for the next 3 days. Unfortunately, we won't be staying longer than that because she has duties as the Queen and will be traveling for a month following our visit." We all nod. Gemma asks "So will Queen Y/N even have time to spend with us?" My mom answers "Her Queen Mother told me that she needs to take breaks to calm down, which will be filled with spending time with all of us. They also have 3 meals a day together, so we will at least see her for that amount of time." I reply "Blimey! Hopefully, this trip is worth it." Gemma replies "If you tell her how you feel, it will be."

As I start playing the piano after lunch, my mind travels to Y/N. I remember when we were 16 and we were each other's first kisses. We shook hands after and have been great friends since. I think both of us liked it, but we each knew how tricky relationships are for royals. Nothing else romantic has happened since then and it's been 5 years. We talk on the phone at least once a week and only visit each other once or twice a year. Both of us live such hectic lives, so that's why we see each other so infrequently.

New lyrics pop into my head and I begin writing. It goes a little something like this ... (lyrics below are Harry Styles's “Adore You” not me - all credit goes to him)

Within 2 hours, I've written a new song called Adore You. I adore it. Maybe I can sing it to Y/N to tell her how I feel. Yeah, that could work.

I head to my room and call one of the valets to help me pack my bags. It would go much faster if I have help and that is their job, even though I feel bad sometimes for them.

We finish packing in time for dinner.

Next Day

On the train over, I sketch nature scenes alongside lyrics. Gemma leans over and asks "What is your new song about?" I answer "Y/N." She gasps and asks "So can I hear it?" I answer "It's better with piano, but sure."

After I sing it to her, she smiles and says "Oh she's going to love that." I reply "I hope so as well."

At the castle, we are welcomed by the Queen Mother. She smiles and gives us all hugs once we get inside. She then leads us down a long hallway and says "I don't even know where Queen Y/N is this afternoon. Sometimes I never see her during the day. She stays in her office for a while and then randomly will pop up in another room around the castle. But, Prince Royce is waiting for us in the living room. We can all visit until tea time when I requested for the Queen to be with us." We follow her and we see Prince Royce outside the room. The Queen Mother asks "Royce, why aren't you inside?" He answers "The Queen is playing the piano and singing. The guards were saying this is her first break out of the office the whole day. I didn't want to disturb her." The Queen Mother says "Let's sneak in. Everyone be quiet. She may not hear us walk in."

We sneak in and sit on the couches. I look over at Queen Y/N and smile. She seems so happy and in the moment. Her fingers are gliding across the piano keys and her voice is wow. Her voice is beautiful. She is beautiful as well. The royal blue dress she is wearing sits perfectly on her and it looks gorgeous. Wow.

After she finishes playing, we all clap and Y/N jumps. She smiles when she sees us and she gets up. 

She shakes hands with my mom first who then pulls her into a hug. So cute! She exclaims "It's so great to see you again. What's the occasion?" My mom answers "Harry mentioned he missed you and we talked with your mom, so we came." Oh, thank goodness she didn't mention the crush part. Y/N smiles at me turn back to my mom and says "Well it's been too long. I missed all of you." Y/N then moves into Gemma and they hug. They exchange a few words and compliment each other. Y/N turns to me with her arms wide open ready for a hug and I hug her. She squeezes me closer to her and says "I missed you, Harry." I reply "I missed you too. It's nice to see your face again after talking on the phone every week." She moves her arms from the hug and stands next to me. She replies "It just feels so crazy to see you again. I missed you so much. Oh remind me after dinner, I made something for you." I reply "I missed you too, more than you’ll ever know. I made you something too, except mine involves the piano." She gasps and exclaims "I'm excited. I already can tell I’ll like it."

A footman walks up, bows, and says "Your Majesty, the tea is ready." She smiles and thanks him. She waves at me to follow her and we get tea. I ask "Should we tell our family?" She nods, looks over at our family, and announces "Tea is ready for those who want it." They look up and nod.

After tea and all of us catching up, it's dinner time. We all follow Queen Y/N and her Queen Mother to dinner. My seat is next to Prince Royce and my mother.

After the salads are brought out, the Head Butler walks in and whispers in the Queen's ear. She nods and announces "Please continue with salad. I shall return shortly." We all rise and she walks out of the room.

When we sit back down, Prince Royce leans over to me and says "Dinner is always like this here." I ask "Do people not believe in eating dinner?" He answers "No they do, but some work and eat instead of taking a moment to relax. Y/N does because she goes back to work after dessert for another hour or so. I think she relaxes after in her room. I don’t really know. We sometimes will watch a movie or just chill together if she wants to hang out. I love her and think she's doing well in her role as the Queen, but I miss my sister sometimes. I never expected anything less than success from her though." I reply "Wow that's very complimentary of her. I understand missing her though. I’m sure it can be hard. I miss my sister whenever she’s away too. To think, when I talk with her on the phone, she always is talking about you and your studies. She’s really proud of you and what you’ve done." He laughs and replies "Y/N is a very supportive sister and I love her for that." I nod and smile.

After around 30 minutes pass, I ask "Does it normally take this long?" Prince Royce answers "Rarely. Can you check on her? Ask her and say I would like dinner. She'll laugh." I nod and get up.

I knock on her office door and a guard opens it. I guess they trust me? I walk inside and over to where she is hunched over the desk writing furiously. I sit in the chair by her desk and notice her glance in my direction. She snaps "Did they send you here?" I answer "Well I mean I was worried about you being gone for a long time. Then your brother told me to tell you that he was hungry. He said it would make you laugh." She doesn’t seem any less tense. She didn’t even crack a smile at anything that I just said. She just kept writing. She replies "I mean it didn't make me laugh, but I appreciate the thought. I guess I should stop soon. It's just I get calls during dinner and certain people don't have certain documents or don't remember what they agreed on meaning I have to work. They should remember and maybe I should start enforcing an hour of no calls for dinner and also maybe I should have my assistants do it, but I don’t... I’m sorry for that mini rant and I'm sorry I just left. I should have told them to continue on with dinner while I was gone." I reply "No no we're all perfectly fine visiting with each other. You don't need to stop. I do think stopping calls for dinner and delegating would let you relax for a second. But... don’t take my word for it. You’re Queen and you know what’s best for you and the country." She smiles and says "You’re so kind, Harry. Thank you. I think I will be good for tonight and hopefully we make it through dessert before I get another call. I might even be lucky and not have to come back to work, so I can spend time with you." I reply “I’ll be here for a few days. It’s okay if you have to work.”

We leave her office and go back to the dining room. We have salad, a chicken rice dish, and cake. The food never disappoints here.

Dinner finishes and the Queen Mother takes my mom off with her. Prince Royce and Gemma also walk off apparently in search of the royal pets. Gemma was winking at me as she left, so I have a feeling she lied so I could be alone with Y/N. I love my sister.

Y/N turns to me and asks "Want to exchange the gifts we have for each other?" I nod.

We reach the room with the piano and she says "Thank goodness I left it in this room last night or we would've had to make an extra stop to grab it." I follow her and she opens a cabinet. I see her grab something and she holds it behind her back. I follow her to the couch and she hands it to me. It's a booklet of some sort. She exclaims "Your music is truly beautiful, Harry. I got so inspired one day and so I made collages of pictures for each song that you played to me. I wrote some of the lyrics and I just designed them. I know it's like not a lot, but I just think your music is something that will make people smile." I reply "Well thank you for this." I flip it open and smile. She truly captured my songs in photography form. I notice pictures of us on a few of the pages and my lyrics in handwritten calligraphy. Wow, this is truly beautiful. I say "Blimey! If I ever want to release music, you're my manager!" She laughs and I reply "I'm bloody serious! This artwork, handwriting, the photos, seeing us in here, and everything. This means a lot to me. I'm really glad that my music has touched you and that it makes you happy. I guess this means that my present will be a hit." She laughs again and asks "Wait? You wrote another song?" I nod. I hold my hand out to her, she takes it, and I lead her to the piano. I sit down and pat the space on the bench next to me for her to sit, which she does.

I start playing piano and I sing "Adore You" to her. After, she leans over and gives me a big hug.

When she pulls away, she says "I adore you too." Ummmmmm ..... what!?!?!?! I ask "Wait? Are you actually saying that and mean it? Or do you mean like in a friend way?" She answers "I mean it in a crush kind of way. I know it's difficult for people in positions of royalty to date, but you're someone who I've known for quite a long time and I feel like I could trust to have a great relationship with." June Update

Big updates today! It’s taken a bit more time than I originally planned but I’m happy to report some of the changes I’ve been working on the last few weeks are now live!

That delay was due mostly to...well...I found out the fun way that user-made Tumblr pages have a maximum character limit for their HTML text of 500,000 characters (and that includes spaces and HTML tags) and I had to take like a week looking over everything to make sure it’d actually fit within those constraints.

New Aspect Page

GOOD NEWS: Our new-and-improved aspect catalog is live! Barring some eventual trimming and slight editing it should even be able to fit within the 500K character limit well into the future. BAD NEWS: Our new aspect catalog is up in only a partial state, because I didn’t want to have to make y’all wait forever for me to be done revising all the old text (it’d be Autumn by the time I’d be done if I did that).

I do intend to eventually get all of the original information back into the new page, just in the form of regular updates instead of pushing it all out at once (and for the preservationists out there, I’ve got the original text safe and sound in case I ever need it). My expectation with that is adding 2 aspects a month, possibly more depending on available time. I’ll be focusing on getting the aspects we already had in there back in there, after which I’ll be getting to work on filling the rest of the catalog out.

In the meantime, you’ll just have to pardon the dust and filler blocks.

Extended Zodiac

GOOD NEWS: Our Zodiac sideblog is now updated with the aspects of Craft and One, including the Omnisearch! BAD NEWS: The Omnisearch was too big for Tumblr, and I’ve had to split the main page into four smaller pages.

Trying to update the Omnisearch in preparation for the upcoming set of signs is how I actually found out about Tumblr’s page character limit in the first place. For those who weren’t around when the sideblog started, the Omnisearch used to exist as thirteen pages (one for each caste grouping) and I eventually compiled the whole thing into one page for convenience’s sake. It’s very disappointing that I have to split it up again but thankfully I’ve done the logistics to minimize the damage, and we should be able to get every single other sign updated into the system with just four pages (and if we can’t that’s not going to be a problem for a LONG time).

The Omnisearch link on the main page for the TTSEZ still works, it just brings you to the first of the four pages (rusts, bronzes, and golds) and you use the links in the header bar to move between the others.

Future Plans

For the immediate future my schedule is going to be looking a little hectic and I may need to put TTS work on the backburner. I still plan to get aspects updated, but the main focus for the next couple weeks is going to be getting the TTS Extended Zodiac back up and running (at whatever pace ends up working out the best).

For the Zodiac, I’m still working on building up a sizeable buffer so I won’t have to stress over uploads once the TTSEZ goes live again. That said, it’ll start posting again next month and, with luck, should be able to keep posting through the end of the year.

This hectic part of my schedule should hopefully wrap up by the time we get to August, and I’ll be able to give more concrete plans for the future at that point.

Tuesday To-Do List

Wish me luck on my grind tomorrow; if it could STOP SNOWING for one frickin’ day, I need to accomplish all of the following because seriously, only one day in the last 6 has not been absolutely hell weather and I already had commitments all day. I was so ahead of the ball when I started on Monday the 12th, and then snowmageddeon part 1 happened and now I only have basically Tuesday the 20th + maybe the next morning before the winter storm era that goes until Christmas Eve.

THINGS TO DO:

* Get and install a new wiper blade for the car, because the driver’s side one broke over the weekend (main reason I can’t go out if there’s a chance of snow or rain, even if the roads don’t scare me) (...damn it, you know what, I actually could have walked to the automotive store today. It snowed all friggin’ day, but it was pretty light. just too much to drive in without wipers)

* Go to Marshall’s: 1-3 presents for husband, mom and maybe brother (unsure if what the latter wants will be there)

* Pick up library holds that I have to pick up by 12/23

* Go to dollar store for tape and wrapping paper, since I couldn’t get to any estate sales this weekend to grab it cheap. I think this will suffice for the number of presents I have to wrap even if it’s not the best value per square foot, and I know it will at least be in stock.

* Unfreeze and open the damn trunk of the car where I foolishly stored 3 of the presents I bought Monday. May possibly have a roll of wrapping paper in there as well?

* Go to Half Price Books to check for planners for Dad that will suit his needs

* Go to Barnes & Noble where I will definitely be able to find a planner for Dad, but I’ll pay 2-3x as much

* Maybe go grocery shopping??? I have been dying from lack of vegetables for a week

* Get gas, I’m at a quarter tank right now I think so not dire but also, when its this cold you want there to be plenty Just In Case.

And I have to get it all done during daylight because the possibility of the sun is the only thing that will make the freezing temps bearable (high of 8 degrees tomorrow. low tonight is -2). And I woke up at noon today because I was already having trouble falling asleep, and when I finally started to nod off at 2 the cat started being a bitey yowly terror so I didn’t fall asleep until past 3 (and was woken up at least 3 times between 7 and noon), so, uh, good luck to me with falling asleep in time to get up no later than 9 and hopefully not feel like death!

IDK what I would do if the work project hadn’t wrapped up last week. Besides possibly be a little more on the ball with ordering stuff online / forcing myself to go out on Saturday, even despite the awful crowds.

Anyway. I guess the one good thing is that I don’t have to drive very far, all the places I need are within a 5-mile radius.

WEEK 10/11

Critical Appraisal for E1

What is my project?

My project is a collaborative 2D concept art book depicting 12 female characters for a 1v1 battle game, on which I am working with my classmate Kiera. The theme is centred around classic horror tropes found in film and media, particularly from the 90s. We think it will appeal to young people who want to play new games but who also enjoy the idea of “throwback” media which has been very on trend. Women aged 16+ are our main target audience – we want to depict our characters as “sexy” in an empowered sense, but not “sexualized” as they have been in games for so many years. For our “splash” images we are drawing inspiration from promotional film posters for their layout and colour story.

What is going well?

I think that the art production side of the project is going well, we are both very invested in creating attractive artwork(s) and are committed to making the final product look as dynamic as possible. We are collaborating well, nurturing each other's creativity and consistently coming up with exciting ideas that we can build off with ease. We are enjoying the theme we have chosen, which makes it easy to stay intrigued and to look forward to continuing to create.

What do I need to change?

In evaluation, there are certainly some things I want to change and alter when moving into E2. For instance, there will definitely be some changes to the Nun character as I think her silhouette could be stronger and much more interesting. The same goes for the other 2 characters, some adjustments will be made to ensure this is an outstanding, unordinary piece of work. We want to push these characters to the best of our ability and make our book something people want to pick up and read. This will consist of some further research into the chosen archetypes, their history and so on, to give me some additional inspiration. With the correct planning this will be deliverable within the given time frame.

What will I struggle with?

The main struggle currently is time management – we experienced a push to complete all the research, writing and theory behind our project, and were slightly too focused on the art creation in this E1 section of the final major. This could cause us to run into problems in the second half of our project, especially around the bookmaking stage, if all our artwork is not completed on time. To combat this, we will further inform ourselves on bookmaking and printing processes prior to the end of our project and will continue to reference our Gantt chart/plan to ensure time is managed correctly.

What are my next steps?

Now that we have all our character concepts completed, we can focus on the posing, painting and rendering portion of the project. We will also be officially naming the game, finalizing props, writing detailed bios/backgrounds on each character, fleshing out our story and thinking about the world/environment(s) around them. We will be religiously looking at our Gantt chart and risk assessment to make sure we adequately allocate enough time and focus to certain elements, such as the bulk of the “painting”. At the end of our E2 will be the book making which will hopefully be efficiently dealt with so we can see our book come to life.

Software & Funding

Photoshop/Pro-Create - both team members already own one or both of these softwares in order to complete all the artwork. We are solely working in 2D for this project and are fully proficient in these programmes. We will not be using any 3D software such as Z-Brush or Maya.

Access to print & book-making materials - we know that UAL offers access to print-making supplies, we need to do more research into availability and potential costs this may involve. We would like to include posters of the work we have created alongside our artbook, which we will also have to plan in terms of the creating and cost of this asset.

Asking for funding - as it stands we have no plans to campaign for funding, but will re-evaluate this later in the project.
