Ok thoughts 👏thoughts👏Everyone gather around I have thoughts about this!

Episode 2 was clearly the Pomni episode. We got to see her character get a little more fleshed out and we also got a glimpse of what motivates her which is great.

With this tweet we have solid confirmation on who the upcoming episodes will center on (thanks for not making us guess, Goose) and this lineup is really interesting.

First fascinating thing is that Kinger and Zooble share a spotlight in ep 3. Why is that? Everyone else gets their own dedicated episodes so why are they unique in that regard? What connects them?

Well, I have one idea!

So we know since the pilot that Kinger has been the one to have lived in the Circus the longest out of all of them. We’re still not sure if he was in fact the 1st human to be trapped (maybe we’ll find out in the next episode) but he definitely has the most seniority, both in age and in length of entrapment.

We also know that Zooble was the most recent character to get stuck before Pomni (and considering their attitude, it may have even been quite a while beforehand) AND is the youngest character next to Jax (they even share the same age, which could be a coincidence but it feels too deliberate of a choice).

Which means ep 2 will simultaneously focus on the oldest and the youngest of the characters.

I’m actually curious as to what their dynamic will be because they haven’t really interacted much in the pilot (and like not at all in episode 2), if they end up interacting in ep 3 at all. But mostly I’m excited to see them more fleshed out with hopefully Pomni getting the chance to bond with them (either together or separately).

My guess is that the purpose for them to share focus on an episode is to get perspective from someone who’s been there the longest and has seen more people come and go than anyone else vs. someone who was just recently in Pomni’s shoes and had probably a much different first day experience (we know Zooble cared enough about Kaufmo to personally organize his funeral so they may have some…feelings about who’s essentially his replacement).

Ep3 is also supposedly Gooseworx’s most anticipated episode so I’m extra excited.

Next we have Gangle for episode 4. I honestly don’t have a lot to say about her or the significance in her episode placement outside of her being the closest in age to Pomni (being only a year older). The only hint we get about what her episode will possibly consist of will be on how reliant she is on her ComedyMask to feel happy, which will be very interesting and we might even get some confirmation on whether her avatar was programmed with that feature upon entering the Circus or if it was an add on of sorts by Caine to help keep her sane. A pretty shitty feature if it can’t last for very long but it does make for a nice metaphor about how fragile her facade is (girl is literally masking).

Actually I don’t think her and Pomni have actually exchanged words yet in the show. Wouldn’t it be funny if they don’t up until her episode. Like Pomni is so caught up in between whatever mess episode 3 has in store for Kinger and Zooble that the two of them never actually talk and it just keeps getting more awkward. Gangle wants to talk to her but is so self-conscious about her Tragedy self that she’ll only feel safe to have a conversation if she has her mask, but it just keeps breaking before she even gets the chance.

Again this is all just speculation, if they actually end up talking in episode 3 I’ll…make ship art of them.

Anyway, episode 5. The one I’m personally waiting for because y’all should know what I’m about by now.

I swear to god if Pomni and Ragatha don’t have a fucking conversation before ep 5 I will launch myself into the sun. I’ll take anything, I just need them to get real for a second. I NEED to know the extent of this woman’s damage. It has to be explored, analyzed, and dissected and I will do so with gusto when the day comes. None of these characters will be safe from my scrutiny, but Ragatha oh ho ho, you have been living rent free in my head for too long, madame. You WILL pay your dues and I intend to collect in every episode until there is not corner of your unsound mind that I have not examined in great detail!

Ahem *Straightens tie* Ok back to business

So yeah, Ragatha.

It may be because we’ve only had 2 episodes but I can’t help but feel like we’re supposed to see Ragatha as a sort of deuteragonist since out of all of the supporting characters she’s so far been getting the most focus aside from Jax, and we’ll get to him in a minute (I promise that’s not just me being biased, or maybe it is, I don’t know, you tell me).

In just two episodes we’ve seen more of what makes her tick compared to anyone else. And of the main cast she’s been the ONLY one to make any kind of connection to the main character and have enough of a meaningful interaction with her to leave an impression.

But this is what really clinched her role as a deuteragonist for me, she’s so far been one of the few to have the narrative briefly shift to her perspective to give us significant character moments like these:

The show REALLY wants us to see just how NOT ok she is.

If she’s meant to be the heart of the group, her heart already can’t take much more damage. Her friendship (if you can call it that, it’s so painfully one sided right now) with Pomni clearly means a lot to her, so much so that her entire sense of self worth seems to be tied to it (and if you’ve been paying attention, she doesn’t have a lot of that as it is). It would be nice to see their connection gradually grow before her designated episode, where she might experience actual growth for herself.

And if episode 2 is any indication of how this show preserves friendships well…

Yeah, I don’t think she’s gonna make it.

In fact, I’m willing to bet actual money that she’s either gonna abstract in episode 5 or episode 6.

Which brings us to Jax’s episode! The other deuteragonist…tritagonist? He definitely shares some degree of significant narrative focus along with Pomni and Ragatha. He’s both an active antagonist force and one of the only characters to drive the plot forward every time he’s on screen (then there’s that weird thing where he keeps breaking the fourth wall).

He has so much significance in the story that Gooseworx gave him his own bullet point in her list of content warnings (this could also be a joke, but I mean it would be funny to see just how despicable they can make this character).

Gooseworx also described Jax and Pomni’s relationship in the show as “messy”. After episode 2, I don’t think she considers him as a candidate for any kind friendship like she did for the others, and who could blame her? In just two days the guy abandoned her to deal with an abstraction and chucked her out of a truck. He’s no one’s favorite person, and he relishes that. Bunnyboy definitely has some issues that Pomni would pick up on the more she’s forced to spend time with him. To the point where I can see her trying to eventually form some kind of bridge because, as her previously established character motivation implies, she’s not the kind of person to intentionally leave anyone high and dry. But unlike the rest of the crew, I don’t think Jax would be inclined to change for the better just because someone took pity on him. He seems like the kinda guy to dig his heels in and commit to his bad behavior out of spite.

And for his episode to come after Ragatha’s, why do I get the feeling the reason Gooseworx went so far as to preemptively apologize to bunnydoll shippers specifically is because he’s gonna cause something really really bad to happen to her (could be abstraction, could even be something much worse) that he would come to sorely regret.

And oh boy would that evoke some feelings in everyone!

I feel like if that is indeed the direction this show is going, the rest of the episodes will really be something.

I’m also certain Caine will get his own episode but right now he is very much an antagonist to these characters. I wouldn’t go so far as to call him a villain, but he’s certainly not someone Pomni is keen on sympathizing with, at least not currently.

Yesss finally some good god danm Thai BL. these two EPs is so good, i loved the silly bickering between our leads but also how the emotional stuff are very much not overshadowed by all of the sillyness. i'm very much invested in Wee's quest to save his grandma and the genuine budding romance that started to bubbly up cause of the mutual cares and empathy that the leads has for each other. i'm having a great time with this show and i can't wait for this week EPs.

MCL NG ep 6 (pt 2)

I just realized I've been using "she" in some of the posts with Avery. Sorry, Avery! I'm just not used to. T-T

HC time:

Avery got very excited about the carnival. They have fond memories of it. One time they went with one of their dates and got very drunk, their stuff stolen and spent the whole night there. They snuck around and pretended that the rides were open and that they and their lover were running a circus. At some point the police found them and they returned home eventually. About the stolen stuff, they did find it but only the IDs and some random candy Avery had in their backpack.

The Danica interaction: Avery thought it was funny. The fact that Danica talked so seriously and acted like the cats' life depended on her changing jobs made Avery laugh in front of everyone. Avery had cats as a child but fed them what they ate as well and they felt like they didn't spend much. Also, Avery said, "You sound like a crazy cat lady that people talk about".

Avery liked how Thomas handled the situation because they now think Thomas is a down-to-earth guy and that makes them more attracted to him.

Avery happily tried the rides and had a lot of fun. They liked the ghost train and the mega-catapult.

About the games, Avery did well when it came to the shooting range. They asked Thomas for help. When the employee mentioned them being a couple, both said no, but in their head, Avey said "Not yet".

About the fortune teller: Avery felt bad for Thomas when they heard what that lady told. To them, the fortune teller said "A change will come soon, and also love". Avery thought it was interesting, but nothing to make them think further.

Avery chose to go with Thomas to the mega-catapult. Avery felt a bit nervous but insisted on going. But when they were set to go a huge anxiety hit Avery. Hopefully, Thomas was there to calm them down. Avery held Thomas' hand the entire time and oh boy, it was a very tight grip, so much and left a mark on Thomas' arm. But a least they had fun~. After the ride, Avery felt much better, as in their anxiety was gone, but everything else was spinning. They took a short break and then returned to the others.

Avery said goodbye to everyone else and went home where they told their roommate everything about the carnival day.

I cringed my way through yesterday’s livestream and I think I am finally officially on board for this pack (after being hyped at the initial leaks / roadmap, then disappointed by lackluster trailers). I don’t think we’re in for a lackluster pack, I think they’re just reallyreally bad at marketing / explaining this particular kind of EP.

if it seems like the main features of this pack are the dating app and costume box, that’s on them 🤦🏼‍♀️ but there’s so much more that I am (finally) getting excited to dig into, like:

likes and dislikes and turn ons and turn offs being two separate (but similar) systems — I love that this means a sim can be attracted to something that doesn’t align with their platonic interaction preferences, like “I hate that this is doing it for me” 🫣

the turn ons and turn offs system in general! most of* the must-haves seem to be there and the options will be really fun to build characters or gameplay around (the turned on by Broke but Affectionate Arts & Crafts Slacker sims to “Why do I keep dating these losers?” pipeline or the black widow challenge with the Wealthy turn on???)

the specificity of the romantic boundaries system (technically coming to Basegame but still shouting it out) as well as the option to have it change over time based on dialog in game

the MWS of it all makes me nervous not gonna lie but truly customizable dates, e.g. with everything from “be funny” to woohoo available for get to know you-type dates, holds a lot of potential for fresh gameplay in an event that hopefully happens more than once a generation in most people’s games

autonomous breakups and divorce (!!!)

Ciudad Enamorada being based on a single culture (and not an amalgamation of cultures like Jungle Adventure) and working with Mexican creators to build the lots

telenovelas and reality dating tv 🫶🏻

the return of the vibrating heart bed and the attention to detail that the vibration makes sims’ voices change

all this progress in separating woohoo from courtship but still needing to have a super cheesy sheepish first kiss before you can move any further physically 😑

no catfishing (but catfish costume?)

no eye color option as a turn on / turn off 🥲

sorry but the plain version of the woohoo blanket looks like dogshit

all the colorful stucco (?) buildings in the historic neighborhood look suuuuper flat which really emphasizes the empty shellness of it all

modern black vinyl windows in otherwise very traditional window casings — imo they pretty well ruined Horse Ranch build mode with this exact move (unless you like 🤢… modern farmhouses) and now they’ve gone and done it to another pack 😭 definitely not helping how flat the world looks either

Finally watched TADC episode 3 and here are my major thoughts + theories

Zooble has some form of control over Caine and just doesn't realise it. I'm pretty sure most people got this but when they told Caine to just forget it. He did. Even she didn't realise this. I really hope this gets brought up soon bc omg. OMG

Also on Zooble, i think SHE was the hacker, not Jax [as a popular fan theory said b4]. She might've hacked the game to pick and mix as she wanted, might explain why she's able to 'hide' from caine for quite a while and skip the adventures. She could irl, but even her talents has limits [implied by Caine , and the game itself, catching her in the end]. She then got stuck in the game and got a pick and mix body.

Caine, honestly? me when i was younger and was at the start of my gifted kid burnout state. wanted to die, the world around me felt like in was dying and glitching and crumbling too. The machine failing at the thing it was literally made for oughhh. spicy and the way his 'emotions' directly affected the world oughh. his emotions or system failure? if joy not found, uhh uhmmmm. But was his bad memory bc of zoobles hacking and her making him forget things unknowlingly? or, im guessing that shes supposed to be the 2nd newest, because the others are used to caine's forgetfulness its.hm.

WAIT IF CAINE THINKS HE/IT FAILED AT PROVIDING A GOOD USER EXPERIENCE WOULD THE SYSTEM CRASH AND EVERYONE GETS BOOTED OUT WAIT!!!!!!!

the other girlies having fun was so sweet, i wonder if the ghost wife knew what happened to her husband. then again its implies caine makes the stories up as he goes so. she mightve just despawned after the adventure, as the rest of the npcs and the 'hell' and whatver. hopefully, if they do meet in that adventure again ragatha's + other meetup will be stored in memory [ a save file perhaps?] and they can continue from there.

S02E13 'Irresistible' - This Is Great

I'm not gonna lie. First watch around I didn't find it too compelling

That said it was during the period when I was going through like seven episodes a day so...a lot of things flew right by me lol

Moe Bocks the UFO guy! Wish we'd seen more of him!

Mulder just took the case to go see the game and then all this happens. Bruuuh

Pfaster is creepy as f*ck just in general how did he ever get a job anywhere

She does practically get away all by herself, though! You go girl!

Then when Mulder tilts her head after the rescue at the end...and the hug...your honour I have never felt more touch starved in my life who said that. Anyway

S03E17 'Pusher' - One Of My Favourites

First of all the whole bit of Modell being able to just talk people into doing things is so interesting as a concept

This is the one with Dave Grohl in it for no reason so that's fun

The falling asleep in the car on the stakeout...

Modell looks like Sam Neill from The Dish or is it just me

The scene in the van where Mulder says 'smile, Scully' almost destroyed me

S04E23 'Demons' - One Of My Favourites

OH MY GOODNESS this ep.

First of all the scene in the motel where Scully takes care of Mulder I am DECEASED it lives in my head RENT FREE FOREVER

Particularly the line 'Did you take anything, Mulder?' as discussed in this ask

The rest of the ep though. Mulder's insistence to pursue the case despite his condition as he doesn't remember if he shot the Cassandras. The fact that he's actually literally having seizures and Scully is trying to get him to a hospital and he keeps refusing. And then the climax scene in the old house...waaa

And the fact that this is RIGHT BEFORE Gethsemane but we're not talking about that here

The amount of fics around this episode is obviously immense, but some of my favourites are Blood And Water by @agent-troi, Provisions by @freckleslikestars, and Dancing With Mephistopheles by Satchie, everyone go check them out!

S02E11 'Excelsis Dei' - Neutral

This is being kind. I might avoid it on a rewatch

It was boring even to skippy rewatch to write this but it would make good background whilst I'm working (recently I have been listening to episodes like audiobooks whilst doing particularly mindless tasks and it works surprisingly well)

I only really liked the climax scene in the bathroom and even that didnt climax enough imo

My King Will Be Kind Chapter 12 / Kendall Roy x OC

an: look at me writing! wow! anyways...enjoy! inbox is open and i would love to hear what you think!

tw: smut- oral f receiving, cursing, mentions of infertility, mentions of death, the funeral ep basically

Violin music soared, the funeral starting.  Stella watched as Kendall and his siblings (and Greg, for some reason) walked down the aisle behind Logan's casket.  Her gaze burned into the back of Kendall's head as he passed her.  She didn't know how to feel, really.  Kendall never led on that he had a problem.  It wasn't like he was lying to her, but he was keeping some of the truth away.  They told each other everything, or so she thought.  

It seemed like such an important detail to leave out, but at the same time, when would he have told her?  They hadn't talked about kids yet, and maybe that was why.

Still, he kept something big from her.  Really big.  

And the fact that she had to find out from his mother.  Stella was so embarrassed.  Unfortunately, Kendall was probably having a much worse time than her.  

At the front of the Cathedral, a tall old man got up to speak.  Kendall, Greg and the sibs attempted to stop him, but he made it to the podium.

The man introduced himself as Ewen, Logan's brother.  His speech took digs at the family, which was kind of funny to her, but sad, as her family would never speak to each other like that.  Not that they were perfect, because they weren't.  Stella remembered her invitation to Kendall.  Was he still going to come to Christmas?  It really wasn't appropriate now, but the holiday wasn't for another month and things could change.  Hopefully, Mencken would lose the election and Kendall would stop the GoJo deal.  

"Godspeed, my brother.  And God bless."

Ewen finished his speech, his harsh words leaving a sting over the funeral guests.  

Next up was Roman, who barely made it up to the podium.  Stella cringed.  It was not looking good for the eulogy.  A part of her wanted to judge him, as her speech at her own father's funeral was almost flawless.  The Roy's got their father for longer than she did.  It wasn't fair.  Stella felt herself growing resentful.  Everyone was grieving around her for a man who was probably better off dead.  And everything happening with the election...

Roman broke down, unable to say what he had written on the cards in his shaky hands.  He motioned to his siblings and they joined him at the podium.  She could hear Roman's whimpers echo throughout the chapel as people started to whisper around her.  

From across the aisle, Stella heard a dissatisfied humph.  She turned, making eye contact with the literal Jeryd Mencken.  Knowing a pretty girl was looking at him, he shot her a crazy smile, flashing what probably were veneers.  Stella's heart skipped a beat and she turned back, focusing on the scene in front of her.  First she had to see Kendall, who she was still mad at, then his siblings, who were still iffy on her, then his mother, who spilled one of Kendall's biggest secrets, now this? 

Before she could process any more of the absolute shit situation she was in, Kendall's voice boomed over the microphone.  

"Um.  Just bear with me a second, please."  He approached the podium with Roman's cards in his hands, while Roman sat down.  The eulogy was now Kendall's responsibility.  

Stella sucked in a deep breath.  This could go a few different ways, from the information she had gathered about Kendall the last months they were together.  He didn't bomb a speech often, but it was definitely possible, given the circumstances.  Especially with Lukas and Mencken there, Kendall was under a ton of stress.  

He mumbled more, taking a pen and writing some notes.  He started, taking some of what Logan's brother said and making it better.  As always, the pressure just made Kendall better, more sharp. It was his fucking father's funeral and he was putting on a performance.  Stella looked around, but still, she couldn't see Rava or their kids.  Maybe they bailed.

"The will to be, and to be seen, and to do. And now people might want to tend and prune the memory of him to denigrate that force. That magnificent, awful force of him, but my God, I hope it's in me." 

She knew it was in him.  There was no one else fit for the job but Kendall.  From her place at the back of the chapel, she swore he said the last line to her.  Kendall spent so much time convincing everyone that it was him, but he never had to convince her.  She knew from the moment they met that he could do it.

"He was comfortable with this world. And he knew it. He knew it and he liked it. And I say amen to that."  Kendall finished, applause echoing through the pews.  

Stella was proud of him.  Even through all of the shit, she was immensely proud of what he did.  

Shiv got up next, delivering a sad speech about her relationship with Logan and his issues with women.  Stella noticed Caroline sitting with a group of women at the front of the chapel.  She recognized Kerry, too, from Kendall's stories.  He was notorious for keeping her up at night, explaining the latest Roy drama.  The front row must have been Logan's conquests.  Stella shuddered, realizing that could be her at Kendall's funeral.  Hopefully he wouldn't replace her with a newer, sexier model every few years.  

The chapel clapped for Shiv, who shed a few tasteful tears.

Stella walked down the aisle, staying back so she would have time to talk to Kendall.  He was saying his goodbyes before they went to the burial with the rest of the Sibs.  

Kendall locked eyes with her and motioned for Stella to come.  She breathed s sigh of relief.

"Hi."  She mumbled, unsure of what to say.

"Hey."  He kind of smiled at her, probably relieved everything was over.

"That was...that was good, Ken."

"Uh, thank you."  

He reached for her, grabbing the cuffs of her jacket slightly and pulling her into him.

She returned the hug as carefully as she could. 

"I'm glad you came."

"Me too."

He looked up at her, tears forming in his eyes.  "Rava and the kids..."

"I know."  She said.

"Jess quit on me."

That, she wasn't expecting.  "What?"

He shook his head.  "I'll tell you about it later."

Stella nodded, her hands still on his shoulders and his locked around her waist.

"Um, have fun at the burial, I guess."

"Yeah, yeah, uh, I will."

"I'll see you, um, later, I guess."

"Yeah. Yeah."

Stella really didn't know if she would see him 'later'.  There was a protest to go to and if Kendall got word she was there...she would never hear the end of it.

It was close to 6 AM when he knocked on her door.

"Where the fuck were you tonight?"  Kendall stormed in, scaring Stella's dog.

"Why?"  She shot back, tired of him micromanaging every little thing she did.  Who cares what she did?  

"You were at the fucking protest!"  

"Well we're clearly keeping secrets now, so I thought it would be fine."

She knew that would hit him hard.  "You could've gotten killed!  Or arrested!"  He chose to ignore what she said, even though it hurt.  

"How did you know I was there?  Are you stalking me?"

"Rome saw you!"

"Roman was at the protest?"

"No, uh, well, he was, but--"  He stopped.  "It doesn't fucking matter who saw you."

"You're just mad you couldn't pick out my outfit."

"Watch it."  His hand balled into a fist.  

"I'm almost fucking 30, Kendall.  And there wouldn't be a protest if you didn't call the election!"

"It was for the deal!  Don't you understand how important that is to me?  To us?"  He moved closer to her, pupils blown.  

"Well now that's fucked, isn't it?"  She got close to his face.  "It was all for nothing."

"We're going to block the deal, Mencken or not."

"You sure, Ken?"

"I'm sure."  He breathed.  "It's gonna be me."

"It's gonna be you?"  Her limbs felt like they were on fire.

Kendall smashed his lips to hers, biting down on her bottom lip.

"Ah..."  She moaned.  "I hate you."

"No you don't."  He mumbled, attaching his lips to her neck.  

"I--"  His hand flew under the waistband of her sweatpants and her breath hitched.  "Fuck."

He was rough with his other hand, pulling at her shirt and reaching up to cup her boob.  His fingers ran over her nipple as his other hand worked on her clit.  

"So fucking wet."  He mumbled into her neck.  

He lifted her up, her exposed legs hitting the cold kitchen counter.  His hands fiddled with her underwear, pulling it down off her legs.  Stella groaned as his lips nipped at her thighs, tongue dancing across her flesh.

MY FAVORITE THINGS OF 2023 🎆

So yeah.

Jujutsu Kaisen S2 is my favorite anime of the year. It gave me SatoSugu; my new fave BL yaoi OTP. Which in turn got my side blog; Queen Endless, going on here and has shown me more of a boom on here than anything before.

The Ahsoka Series gave us our Anakin Ahsoka reunion with ep 4 and 5 and God Ep 5 gave me everything I wanged and more and yeah Ezra, Thrawn, and much more showed up but TCW keeps on coming back to feed me good.

Spider-Man 2 PS5 gave me Bully Lowenthal, live action kid Ben 10 all grown up as Harry, Venom madness, and was an overall rollercoaster.

Dtoons Team Teen Cartoon Heroes Unite gave me Ben, Bloom, and Yugi all in the same episode/screenshot and yeah a congregation of cartoon and anime characters galore. Imma try to draw some inspired fanart for it soon. Hopefully.

Anigomi, making character audio x listerner content on YouTube, covering guys and gals from anime and etc. My favorite VA of theirs is Han who voices Gojo, Hawks, Dazai, Tamaki and probably more. They do commissions, they're EXPENSIVE, but their content is great and they have Patreon for the MATURE stuff so there.

Five Years Later by The Ink Tank, the Ben 10 Danny Phantom crossover webcomic turned motion comic/dub with professional VAs and we're getting the next 3 episodes coming right around the corner and it's ALL SO GOOD!

Scream 6. My favorite horror series. Which makes me sad cause Scream 7 ain't happening cause our two lead girls were fired/quit along with the director of the 6 cause of stupid BS. So reboot? It just won't be the same.

Once Upon A Studio, a homage to the House of Mouse in my opinion. The Disney crossover of all time that was wholesome and funny tied up in a bow.

The Pink Popcast is hilarious. Benji and Rizzo are great commenters/people you can vibe with well. For first time reactions to watching them react to my fave stuff is all around entertaining. Especially when they talk about musicals, Scream and Disney.

He jumps right into questions and so will we...

Do he and Jensen drive around the Impala's or do they mostly stay in the garage?

Baby bro, his Impala, is in his garage in Austin next to the picture of him on a horse from French Mistake. He says he has to take a pic of that and tweet it, that they both got the Impala's restored and his got finished first but it's not registered yet in America so it's still a Canadian vehicle which is weird because it was born in America in Detroit but it go registered in Canada. In order for him to be able to drive it he has to get it registered but they will certainly go road trip. And he does a Jensen impression saying, "I love baby" 😂 x

Why does he think Sam only had one son?

He jokingly says Sam only had one son that he knew of 😉 But he thinks Sam did all right, in his opinion the reason he only had one son is that when Sam and Dean were both alive Sam had a questionable history as far as success and failures go when it comes to loved ones so to speak, you know his first love was on fire on the ceiling, his next was a werewolf, then a demon that makes you start the apocalypse so he thinks Sam had a child and he tried to not mess it up. He does truly believe that we'll see Sam and Dean ride again in the version of Sam and Dean that are played by he and Jensen but in the mean time he thinks Sam thought 'I've been through enough, this kid is healthy, ten fingers ten toes, I'm gonna honor my brother' so that's where he went. x

How does he think Sam dealt with his hell trauma through all of the years?

The way he played it, and the way he thought it- there's a funny thing being an actor on a show, especially a show that you've done for an ep or two or 3 because he thinks it's cumulative, it grows on each other. Every episode you do in a tv show, if you care, is like a brick. So episode 1 you get a brick, ep 2 you get another brick, ep 3 you might get 3 more bricks, and so on and so forth and there are some really pivotal episodes where you get a whole brick wall like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Changing Channels, the Simon Said one for him was very funny, Fresh Blood, Sacrifice. Sacrifice, he feels he put up an entire wall and poured some more foundation on the floor to build another wall. And so by the time they got to hell!sam you just kinda have to do the best you can, and say okay here's the house of Sam.

And he feels like this, and for people that he hasn't been able to talk to about mental health directly, he tries to think of himself and everybody else as a mountain and so you're a mountian and sometimes you look up and it's a cloudy sky or it's raining or thundering, the next day could be the most beautiful day you've ever seen so don't commit to that thunderous lightning sky. And vice versa if it's beautiful and there's rainbows and birds and you're like everyting's great and it's gonna be that way forever in a week it might be a very shitty day so things change, and that's not dissimilar to how to tell the story of a character so when he played hell Sam all of that was there and it was really though, it's hard to go there, and he thinks a lot of actors and actresses are really well equipped to play a scene like that they can kinda just go into it and come out of it feeling fine, but for him it stayed with him for a little bit, and he thinks it's because it was theraputic for him because there was some stuff he had to deal with and so he explored it.

He's really grateful for his friend Sam, he got to explore a lot of stuff that he would've failed at so he's happy to have had that relationship for 15yrs and hopefully again but all those aspects were there, and still are there if you think about it, he can go back and play hell Sam tomorrow, and he might, he hopes to. x

In a previous panel he mentioned stoicism, could he talk more about it?

The question that he had been asked in said previous panel where he mentioned stoicism was who would he like to sit down to have a meal with, and he says his first thought is that right now he'd love to talk to his grandpa that died before he was born.

He feels he's learned quite a bit about stoicism. He'd love to delve into it he thinks the perceived peace, and not that stoicism is being peaceful, but he thinks it's finding the peace and that has been a journey for him. Again the mountain, the clouds change but remain your own mountain and stay peaceful and pacifist and this too shall pass, so he thinks maybe one of the things he loved about learning about stoicism at just an elementary level that he'd love to keep exploring is how to keep seeking peace wherever you are. x

Does he get his hair permed?

He doesn't get it permed. He shares a cute story about how his hair now is very long because he hasn't had a haircut since wrapping up filming on Walker s3, which happened 3 days after the last JIB back at the end of February, he's had long hair before, obviously, but this is a short hair haircut that has grown out so he doesn't know how to do it, and so he got to the green room that morning and went to Jensen and told him he was fucked because he has hair product for short hair now and he didn't know what to do, and he didn't want to put on his beanie all day long but Jensen told him he might have something and saved his ass as Dean saves Sam's ass many times. Jensen always taking care of his boy 🥰 And if I want to headcanon that Jensen styled Jared's hair nobody can stop me. x

Has the why did uncle Jensen kill mommy talk happened?

It hasn't. He and G have watched some Walker with the kids so it's more why did dad want you killed if he's the producer, but there's something really funny that he feels, and people have asked many times if he's watched SPN with his kids, and his kind of canned answer is they're not old enough to see all that blood but they are, or that they can't see love scenes which they can they get it, it's more he has such a deep and abidding love for SPN and Sam and Dean and C and all the other characters that he doesn't want to watch SPN with the kids casually. He will watch SPN with his kids, he will watch every single ep with them but when he does so he wants to be able to pause and say 'hey here are the archetypes, here are the storylines, here are the tropes, here's why the storyline is going this way because soon it might go that way' basically he wants to able to explain it to them. This is something he's gone through with Tom about like Harry Potter or Star Wars and what's the hero's journey and the speedbumbs along the way. But he will watch it with them and he's sure he will get that question, and hopefully he'll have an answer by then. x

His favorite bit was attempting to give a voice to the stories that haven't been told yet, it's still an open wound but he's so proud of the cast, the storylines, the characters. It's one of those bummers when he has to remind himself that he's a talking monkey, we all are and sometimes it works out where the people who do or don't decide to pay for you to do another season do or don't decide to pay for it. He couldn't be more proud of the show, the stories, actors and actresses, characters, and he hopes we see more of it somehow. x

Does he have any birthday traditions?

He doesn't have a tradition, honestly when he turned 18 he was filming on Gilmore Girls. When he grew up they had birthday parties but once he moved to LA he believes between his birthday in 2018 and his birthday in 2005 when he turned 22-23, he thinks he was on set for like 12 of his 15 birthdays just filming, and he tells another really sweet Jensen story about how when they were filming Wendigo, it was like the 4th day of filming and it was his birthday and he didn't tell anyone but Jensen found out somehow and surprised him by having the crew sing him happy birthday and get him birthday cake 💕

"Ackles somehow or another found out that it was my birthday. And I think this was like day 4 of filming Wendigo, and I didn't say anything I was like, whatever I'm 23 it is what it is, I'm here to work and then when lunch happened I think Jensen was like 'hey, we're gonna rehearse the next scene before we break for lunch' and I was like okay, cool and so I went back into the set to rehearse and they had a birthday cake for me. I guess he had found out it was my birthday and had them all sing happy birthday to me and had them bring me a birthday cake."

Anyways, he doesn't really have a birthday tradition, if he were to have a tradition it's that he and G try to go to Italy every summer, and she's currently there so they're gonna spend the week there and try to celebrate this week. x

What's a scene between Sam and C that he would have liked to have seen on the show?

Two part answer to a one part question, he really loves the scene directed by Richard Speight with Sam and Sully, and he loves that Sam had an outlet in Sully to kinda talk about what he wouldn't talk to Dean about, and we're all in those relatonships where the person you care most about it's not that you lie to them but you don't tell them how stressed, or worried, or tired you are so he would have loved to see a scene between Sam and C where Sam thanks C for being there for Dean when Sam can't. With all due respect, that's a no from me. x

Has he heard his french voice in SPN? The actor who dubbed him also dubs Matt Damon and Patrick Dempsey! Also, does he find it weird to hear a foreign voice coming from him?

He finds it really fucking cool. He met in Barcelona, maybe 11yrs ago, the actor who dubbed him. He loves it, he thinks it's so cool. His first experience ever hearing himself dubbed was when he was in Beijing, China back in 2006. They had just finished s1, and he and his buddy who was there were unpacking, and they had the tv on and he heard the trailer for some tv show in the background and his friend started freaking out and told him to look and when Jared looked at the tv it was him in s1. So '06 or '07, he doesn't remember, in the summer he went to China and saw it dubbed in Mandarin, and he found it the coolest thing that's ever happened in his life. Says that if anybody wants to dub him, in any language, DM him, he loves it.

He'd love to watch it, and to meet the performer who does it in French as well. x

What's the secret to his and Jensen's brotherhood?

This questions is possibly a version of his favorite question that could ever be asked about SPN. The main thing he can say is that whatever you see on camera though Jensen and he were playing Sam and Dean Winchester they weren't faking shit. It was real to them and it was and still is an amazing life lesson that you get out of something what you put into it, if you half ass something whether it's a friendship, marriage, profession, diet, excercise routine, you're gonna get half-assed results. If you go 'fuck it, i'm all in and if I get hurt I get hurt and I'll abandon ship and do something else' and they went all in like he thinks sometimes he can think about when that moment happened but he thinks both he and Jensen just went like 'you know what this is found family, could be found family'.

Maybe Jensen turns out to be an asshole, maybe he (Jared) turns out to be an asshole and if that happens then he can reverse and put his guards back up and say this guy is a jerk or vice versa Jensen can say he's a jerk about him, but they both just kinda went all right I'm gonna trust you, they didn't say the words but they had that kind of non verbal communication and went after it, and he to this day loves the guy like a brother. And there are ups and downs, somebody goes through something in their life and he'll speak for himself sometimes when he's super stressed out he can be a little curt, a little maybe caustic, snarky or sarcastic and his buddies around him have to be like 'hey, you're kind of being a dick are you alright?' and he'll go 'no i'm not alright im going through this' but having that trust- he knows he and Jensen found that with SPN in Sam and Dean, and he loves their relationship like he wants that for his sons. He doesn't want the rebar but he wants them to rely on each other.

That he heard a great quote: parents leave us too soon, we're not around long enough for our children, siblings are the ones we go through life with. And he thinks siblings can mean anything, if you're an only child, it's your friend, it's your buddy, you need a partner, you need two people in that rowboat. It doesn't need to be somebody who's there everyday but somebody you can go to, and you might not agree all the time but life is not about agreement otherwise why go through life if you have nothing to learn, if everything you say is right, so he thinks they just trust each other and he doesn't know why but they held each others careers in each others hands and were like 'I got you, you got me? Yeah. All right let's get to work'. ❤️

On SPN G was like the demon on his shoulder, on Walker she's like the angel on his shoulder what did he like best demon G or angel G?

Storyline wise he loved demon G. Says, he's a weird guy, he's a nice guy but he's a weird guy because he loves being around people he loves and trusts that are intelligent when he grew up, in High School he was into debating so sometimes he wants to say something not because he means it but because he trusts somebody else's intellect and he wants to hear their reaction and response and he hopes they'll want to hear his as well so he'll say something like he thinks lights should be outlawed and we should go back to candles because this is bad for the enviroment and someone will counter reply he likes the minutia, he likes the back and forth, he likes conflict, conflict is what storytelling is about often and it's whatever the reminder of after conflict has been settled it's whatever the reminder is that teaches the audience and to an extent the performers what the whole scene was about in the first place, it's never what you think it's about. So, he likes that but as far as angel G in Walker it's been fun to show her off to his Austin cast and crew, especially during the covid days when no one else was allowed so he guesses he should say angel G, Emily, so she can come back to s4. x

Last question, was he able to sight see in Poland?

He answers that he finally got to his motherland Poland and it was amazing. He had a great time, he was there for 9 days but it was for a USO tour so everyday he was at a different base so not a lot of sight seeing but he saw a lot, he saw a lot of the country. The fan asks if he got to see any of the beaches, he did not, they were inland the whole time he didn't even know they had beaches. He also didn't get to see Katowice which is where his grandparents are from but he'll go back, he wants to go back; it was a lot of trying to give back to people who were in the front lines of the Ukraine-Russia conflict so there wasn't a whole lot of time for traffic or tourism but he can't wait to go back, he had a great time, loved the people. x

I don't like to engage in serious speculation bc I don't know what the fuck is going to happen in this show (in a good way) and I don't want to work myself up for something that doesn't happen and end up feeling disappointed just bc a different great thing happened

but like we've got one episode left (? though *some* kind of announcement is coming on Monday in Hobby Japan magazine apparently) and one of our leads is dead again (again) and also I think it's fairly likely they fucked on the beach?? so some disorganized thoughts

WHO DREW THE AIAIGASA. BRAVERN'S FINGERS ARE TOO BIG or is that why bravern's name is too large to fit under the umbrella (which is especially funny bc bravern, too, is too large to fit under the umbrella but he would try) WAS IT ISAMI THIS IS CRUCIAL

they might not have had the campfire time in the bad end timeline bc they said that was partly bc superbia told them about the remaining deathdrives. but if they DID there wasn't anyone to interrupt them. so. at least they didn't die virgins (for the purposes of this joke bravern is a virgin bc he's only existed for a week)

does superbia know they fucked

it is kind of funny that lulu going back in time made things *worse* (or so it seems, I'm sure smith/bravern will be fine somehow) bc yeah they both died but at least they saved the world first. separate post about heroism in bravern being about the people you love and not about saving the world incoming tho (I am sure it will work out for the best but I just said elsewhere that at least bad end means they won't die! *LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER*)

we've had two time travels and you'd expect either one or three. and isami has been fairly passive narratively. is this when isami finally takes control of his own destiny and activates bravern's core to go back and fix (something)

there's a version of this story where he goes back and redoes the entire situation, smith never dies and never becomes bravern and accepts himself and his human limitations. and that could be good or bad but I don't personally think this is it

more importantly imo: HE NEEDS TO SAY IT BACK. if I was writing this that would be the key. he needs the courage to admit he loves bravern too. it's pretty obvious now (I mean. he was lying back with his arms up waiting to be kissed-and-more, bro was READY) but saying it is another thing entirely. If Smith realising his love created Bravern then Isami accepting his love can activate the core

smith/bravern constantly saying "yuuki bakuhatsu/brave bang" at death feels like it should mean more than just "title drop lol". first time it felt like "bro don't tell him how brave you are for blowing yourself up right as you die live on zoom" but the fact that he did it again? or maybe it's just that that's going to be what makes isami figure it out, like the curry was for lulu. but I want it to mean that isami, specifically, needs to explode his courage. hopefully not literally, but I think he needs to do something emotionally brave that he initiates

then again it might just be title drop lol bc I'm pretty sure some stuff is literally just there bc obari thinks it's cool and honestly if following his heart has gotten us this far then he's doing something right

bravern sounded more and more human when talking at the campfire. like he wasn't as blustery as he usually is as bravern, and he wasn't pretending not to have ever been human. (though he is still watashi-ing rather than ore-ing, when he slipped up in ep 9) idk if isami noticed though, he kind of had some other stuff going on

I do now think this will end with smith accepting his human limitations and the things that humans can do when they work together (not a euphemism) (not not a euphemism either). maybe human smith is still in there, if he could bring robot parts from death maybe he could also bring and reassemble his flesh. it doesn't require any *more* stretch of the imagination. isami climbs inside, finds him, loves him, and brings him out to help save the day (superbia can gattai with what's left of bravern or something idk)

"aren't you writing a story where becoming bravern is a transition analogy" A. how do you know that B. yes and I'm going to try to finish it before the finale bc it is still a fun story, but that isn't the story that bravern was ever telling and I didn't think it was. it's just an adjacent and overlapping story. (Also, sometimes the opposite of a trans story is also a trans story! Sometimes the big robot is transition and sometimes the big robot is the closet! Being trans is both about changing to something new and accepting who you were born to be; it's just a matter of how you look at it.)

I Saw You In My Dream Ep 1 Thoughts

I want to liveblog a show again and since a few shows ended and I have the bandwidth to add a couple more shows so I’m back with another liveblog. This time it’s I Saw You In My Dream. I promise I will try to be better about tagging my liveblogs but I am…well I’m me. But I’ll try my best. I honestly have no idea what this show is about. I’m going in blind. Is this a good idea? Who knows. But we’ll find out!

The opening is cute.

Okay. This is subject to change but right off the bat, not a fan of Yu. Just very…boys I went to high school with. I don’t see what’s so funny. But I do like the little drawings. I love when shows do the little drawings like this.

NOT JOY TO THE WORLD NO. I hate this Christmas carol so much. I have for my whole life. It is a known thing to my family. I have to suffer it every year at the one and only church service I go to. It took me a full 10 minutes to calm myself down. It was the funniest thing I’ve seen in such a long time. I love people so much. Humanity is great actually.

Now I need to make dinner (yay leftovers) and then I can proceed on my watch.

watching good omen season 1

ep 1 pilot

haven't seen a lot of it, mostly that people like it, that it's made by people people really like and that it's gay (or at least people make it gay) so you know, good pick for me. and i just watched to animations/animatics on youtube with bad endings and bad endings fuck me up, so hopefully this is happier. intro is a fucking banger. also god has a fem voice? nice. accurate skin colour for the earliest humans. not surprised, but appreciated. making fun of theology and great banter? i love it.

ominous picnic basket. oh... actually quite biblically fitting it seems. i REALLY hope they don't expect me to remember these names too well. many of the characters seem fun though.

of course the american politician says bs like "a regular y chromosome son". which i'm sure has not been tested as you 1: don't know the gender yet. 2: phenotype does not denote genotype.

i wonder who and how they'll figure out who has the wrong baby. "i don't recall what horror of history we had a lunch over, but i do recall what we had." the BEST dynamic.

ep 3 hard times

a black knight shrugging is way too funny. i love these two. just two old friends helping each other out, it's just that that's diametrically opposing one another. the angel doing some tempting, the demon some miracles. and upper management doesn't care.

the way to defeat the end of the world is to believe and stand (and i hope work) for a world that wouldn't end. a bit on the nose but very nice.

and of course with Terry Pratched being involved death is not to be defeated, just not hastened along.

for a TV series that's a pretty good satan. oh that is SO clever. kind of time fucking, but not really so long as you never introduce time travel so it's only true from now on. oh, is it a nicer ending then i though? YES IT IS! \o/

(I haven’t watched the play btw, this is just tv opinions) I think series 1 of fleabag is a perfect self contained story, which you need to go in to with no knowledge of because the story structure is incredible. The second series possibly has less of the first time impact, because it doesn’t use reveals in the same way, but then is more rewatchable. Also s2 makes you feel less like clawing your heart out with a grapefruit knife than the first one, because it’s a least a hopefully ending, if not necessarily happy

yeah that's a good point!! the first season is like a slightly less intense version of the stage show, largely because the story's stretched out and there are a couple story beats that are cut (which is the reason the show is probably going to be more rewatchable for me personally because i adored the stage production but it's also one of the most emotionally intense cinema experiences of my life (then again this is becoming par for the course with national theatre lives because this has happened to me with all 4 i've seen, though fleabag is definitely Up There)). knowing the twists and a lot of the reveals did to an extent soften the impact of the show but there's some really creative ways it hints at the final reveal that i loved and i like the way it holds off on telling you about boo until the end of the first ep! ultimately i think this is a format thing; the TV show's fourth wall breaks are a lot more intimate, i.e. it's a kind of quiet aside to the viewers which really brings us into the story and helps us emotionally connect with her. also we can see the people involved. in the stage show fleabag is completely alone and also on a stage performing, which is definitely a different vibe, and it's less of a fourth wall break than a kind of constant running narration because in the framing of the stage show she's just telling us about the events that have led her up to this point. i think the fourth wall breaks were a really creative way to bring this over to TV because narration wouldn't have had the same impact and i love the way it comes into question why she's doing that in the second season it's SO good

speaking OF the second season. i was genuinely somewhat skeptical even before going in because like you said it's a perfectly self contained story in the play/first season and i had no idea how they were going to carry it over. there is one very tiny change made to the TV show which makes the ending feel a lot less final than the stage show but i won't say what it is because the stage show is absolutely worth a watch. that leaves it open for room to carry forward and by god it delivers!! it's absolutely perfect in the way it builds on both the whole fourth wall break mechanic and makes us think about it and also the way it continues fleabag's arc. really incredible piece of television. i also do think it is funnier both because the tone especially at the start is somewhat lighter and also i didn't actually know what the jokes were. fleabag season one is so obviously humor as a mechanism to cope with grief that i didn't always find it as funny but season two holds off on emotionally wrecking you at first or at least carries over the experience of the stage show which is like someone tells you a joke and then hits you with a baseball bat and then tells you another joke. see the fox appearing at the bus stop that was funny as fuck. even if i was in tears. also it doesn't hurt that phoebe waller-bridge and andrew scott separately have incredible comedic timing skills (we do Not talk about this enough i am telling you) and when they're playing off each other it's just very funny to watch even when the scene is also like. hitting you with an emotional truck.

tv format also allows for a lot more development of the side characters which i do really like i LOVE claire. and i love the discussion of fleabag's relationship with her mother. and i love the stepmother being olivia colman she's great. it's absolutely a wider version of the story. i think fleabag was always something that was going to be kind of difficult to adapt to television just because of how essential the format is (i think this is why they took claire's stand up show line out because the play DOES feel a lot like stand up in a lot of ways) but the first season is done really well even if it was less effective for me personally cause i wasn't going in blind. the second season builds on all of it so so well and probably had more impact for me because i didn't see what was coming also see aforementioned they put andrew scott and phoebe waller bridge in a room together i mean come on they're great. really good at their jobs. etc. but we all already knew that. both seasons have a relatively hopeful ending but the second season definitely feels more closed, i.e. where the first season is left somewhat open with the bit with the loan guy the second season is decidedly showing us that she is going to be ok but she's also leaving us behind and so that's the end of the story that we get to see and i do love that. genuinely rooting for her as she's walking away from the camera like go girl leave the audience behind. actively pushing the audience away even in episode five you will always be famous

tldr you are Right and the stage show is absolutely worth a watch if you can (should be on ntathome to rent) but like major cw for being a decidedly more intense version of the show it is very, very funny but also difficult in parts. also cw for animal death. but watch it for phoebe waller-bridge's guinea pig impression if absolutely nothing else
