I’m excited for the renewal of GO3 but I’m also kind of a little worried for David because he’s been performing McBeth for 6 six weeks now and rehearsals are also killer and now their set to film GO? Just thinking about this exhausts me so I can’t imagine how he would feel (and Michael also for that matter since he’s been rehearsing for his own show). Also, please please PLEASE don’t let GT and AL be in GO PLEASE
Hear, hear, and three cheers to the renewal of GO 3!
All I can say is, it's about damn time we finally got this announcement. I am ineffably thrilled as well to know that we will have our boys back together in Scotland to bring us the resolution to Aziraphale and Crowley's story.
In terms of filming, I did see the press release that said GO 3 filming would begin "soon," but I think "soon" is a relative term here. David's run in Macbeth goes until early February, and then Michael is in Nye at the National Theatre from the end of February until May 11th. So "soon" likely means a good six months from now at the earliest (i.e., mid 2024). Hopefully that means both David and Michael will have time to rest up and prepare for the start of filming GO 3, but I would imagine them both feeling a sense of excitement and anxiety at their forthcoming schedules.
What I think Michael and David likely do not feel anxiety about, however, is the prospect of getting to spend more time with each other. And we know they are already seeing each other at least somewhat regularly right now, what with Michael being in London at the moment, so it stands to reason that Michael and David are going to be frequent fixtures in each other's lives and worlds for a very good portion of the next year. Lovely.
In terms of Georgia and Anna possibly being in S3, I will echo what @thereallovebug previously excellently said, which is that it is very tiring to think that we haven't even had the GO 3 announcement for a day, and already people are calling for them to be cast in the show, and it's just...can we not even fully process/absorb this news before jumping to yelling at Neil to cast people? Or maybe just skip the "yelling at Neil to cast people" part completely? I'm just confused as to why there has to be an immediate call to have them in the show when there may not even be a place for them in it.
I also keep thinking of the discussion that took place when the news about GO 2 first came out, which was that having any family member of Michael's or David's would be distracting, and we saw what ended up happening with Peter Davison and Ty. I thought Peter did very well as Job, but Ty just seemed out of place the entire time and it was like you could "see" him acting instead of just...being, and as a result, his performance did not quite gel with the rest of the scene.
The takeaway point here is that the role of Ennon could have gone to any number of aspiring young actors, talented actors looking for a shot at the big time, but who did not get to have that opportunity due to nepotism. It only makes sense, then, that the same would hold true for GT and AL. And to me, it's disrespectful to the show, to Neil, and to Michael and David at this point to act as if GO 3 is somehow "not good enough" unless GT and AL are in it. As if the thousands of other talented actors in the UK aren't good enough simply because they're not Georgia and Anna. I've been accused on multiple occasions of only disliking Georgia and AL because of who their partners are, but the fact that so many people are only fans of theirs for the same reason is apparently not a problem.
(I will not go into detail here about the myriad of reasons why people are fans of Georgia and AL's because of who their partners are, but I suggest reading this post from @artificial-indulgence, who has perfectly enumerated my own thoughts on the subject.)
It is for the reasons that are mentioned in the post I just linked to that I feel many fans are unwilling to see the reality of things, which is that Georgia is a passable actor, but Anna is not, and any halfway decent casting director is not going to overlook that. I'm thinking back to an Ask I answered yesterday about her being edited out of the photo used for the I Talk Telly Awards and (more significantly) that no one actually seemed to notice that she was missing.
Given that, it's highly unlikely that someone whose performances are so unmemorable would be cast in the third installment of a major global TV show--at least purely based on merit. And knowing how important this third season is, how it's meant to resolve Aziraphale and Crowley's story and give us what Neil and Terry envisioned so many years ago, it would be truly unfortunate to see all of that overshadowed by other things.
But yes, today was very much a day filled with good news (and which I wholeheartedly appreciated, given that I am dealing with some difficult personal issues at the moment). More thoughts to come in a follow up post, so stay tuned...

Happy October 3rd!! Now that it’s finally the holiday I can share the artwork I made for this year’s @fmabigbangs - I illustrated a couple of scenes from @redstringraven‘s fic which you can read over here!
I had a lot of fun with both of these - one of them for trying to make a cool quasi-anime screenshot style piece, and the other for crushing greed with masonry. Both good times!

➳who cursed the bludger? ♡
in which the reader's dominant hand is injured badly after a rogue bludger slams into it and none other than fred weasley is behind it. who cursed the bludger?
fred weasley x fem!reader

my masterlist:D
ft. penny clearwater
who cursed the bludger?
y/n was currently draped lazily over her broomstick, haven given up trying to teach penelope clearwater how to fly. said prefect was on the grass, smirking as y/n embarrassedly looked around.
"penny that's not ok to ask!"
"fine, fine," she pondered for a moment, "hey, what's up with you and fred weasley, huh?"
"nothing at all," y/n answered a little too quick for penny's liking.
"c'mon, y/n, you're younger than me, i should know all that happens. you two are very...flirty."
"yeah well, my dear pennysylvania, we have flirty personalities. duh."
"no, you don't."
"okay, i don't. he does."
"but he seems like he means it."
"of course he means it? he says it in a joking way? y'know, he means it as a joke."
"hmm, nope, i don't think so, y/n. he's looking your way right now."
"i'm probably blocking the space, let's move outta the way."
"you're not gonna play with them?"
"already play in matches, why now? let's chat."
fred was silently eavesdropping on their conversation as he heard his name.
"sooo you and perceeee??" y/n dragged out, grinning as she did loop-do-loops with her broomstick.
penny blushed, but looked disappointed, "he likes oliver."
"oh. well, f percy, what about marcus??"
"he's just marcus. we're best friends, y/n."
"my fav trope of romance is best friends to lovers," y/n wiggled her eyebrows suggestively and penny shook her head in amusement.
"my one is the opposites attract."
"hmm yeah, that's a good one too, it's really cute! say, aren't you and mar-"
"i was meaning you!"
"huh?"
"you and fred."
fred smirked as he listened, flicking back the bludger harshly at angelina.
"oh yes because we are totally meant for each other," y/n sarcastically replied.
"what's that supposed to mean?"
"yes."
"you're doing this on purpose!"
"hmm? what?"
"oh my goodness, merlin you're stupid bro!" penny said exasperatedly.
"and you just realised. congrats, penny."
"anyway, what i'm saying is you and fred are rather like opposites. although he's extroverted and you're extroverted, you're a cute little nerd," y/n huffed at this 'i am n o t a nerd for the last time!' "and he's a class clown in the most charming way. you like reading and he likes pranking people and quidditch. you're a goody two shoes, an adorable one, but he's this foolish jock," penny looked proud with her argument so y/n laughed, "you're modest and he's very confident. and you're both hot."
y/n smiled, "i am not hot!" she giggled, "that's stupid."
"oi, ange!" penny called to angelina who looked over at her in amusement.
"yeah?"
"is y/n hot?"
"oh, totally!" angelina casually threw the quaffle into the hoop, "10/10."
"guyyys you flatTer me," y/n stretched out as the three of them laughed, "i'm bLushIng."
"you actually are," angie quipped.
"it's a command thing. if she wants to blush, she'll blush," replied penny.
they burst into giggles again.
fred watched y/n. a rosy pink, sure enough, had spread across her cheeks. that was enough to get her blushing?
"oi, l/n!"
y/n's head snapped his way, her eyes narrowed as if expecting an insult being thrown her way.
"your lips are pretty!"
her form relaxed, "thanks! yours are too!!"
penny giggled as angie rolled around laughing.
"what?" y/n looked around.
"the way you return flirting is hilarious."
"a compliment for a compliment, isn't that what they say?"
angelina snorted, "no one says that."
"oh well i say it, so deal with it."
"hey, i have an idea!" penny brightened up.
"let's hear it!"
"let's teach y/n pick up lines, ange!"
"oh you're a genius, penny!"
"okay, so-"
a bludger came whizzing at y/n as she screamed, trying frantically to dodge it. it hit her hand and a crack was heard.
luckily she immediately hopped off calmly, taking out her wand shakily and stunning the bludger, before penny and angie helped her over to the hospital ward, fred lagging guiltily behind.
she was ordered to stay in bed rest and with drowsy eyes she drifted off.
fred watched her feeling so terrible as he saw her heavily bandaged hand, imagining how he was going to tell her that he was in fact the one that had charmed it.
the next day, she was out and about, gently cradling her hand which was broken.
"um, hey, y/n," he nervously approached her.
"oh, hello!"
"i might have jinxed the bludger to go wild," he confessed abruptly, "i'm really sorry i didn't mean to-"
"no, it's fine, really." she gave him a reassuring smile and walked off.
he noticed that she couldn't write in class. usually she was scribbling away, but she just sat awkwardly at her desk, trying frantically to get anything legible down with her non-dominant hand. the fact she was so courteous and forgiving about everything just made it worse.
by now, y/n was dying inside. she couldn't write notes, and even though she wanted to ask any willing person for a duplicate of their notes, she'd have to explain the whole broken hand thing.
"ange?"
"yep?"
"do you have history of magic notes?" y/n did puppy eyes.
"nope, you forgot i dropped out."
"oh."
"do you want mine?" fred asked, smirking as he looked y/n up and down.
"you take notes?!!!" y/n was shook.
"only for you, 'cause i felt bad."
"you didn't need to!"
"i did. you want them?"
"yes please, thank you so much, you're a lifesaver!!"
"you're acting like you're not the one the bludger hit," angie quipped and y/n frowned, completely forgetting fred was still there, browsing the notes.
"c'mon, it was just an accident. and i've always wanted to be ambidextrous."
"lovely, you were struggling. i'll take all your notes. my handwriting isn't neat but i owe you."
y/n ducked to hide the light blush she could not control at all.
immediately she got a confused look from fred.
and instantly she thought of something that might make the blush go away. he didn't mean it, it slipped out, she thought and she felt her face cooling down, a slight frown appearing on her face.
"o-okay, thanks fred."
"no problems, darling," he flirted.
"that's good, darling," she flirted graciously back, bravely tilting her head up and looking him in the eye.
he took it well.
"where did you learn how to flirt so well, my little love??"
"why, freddie," she joked flirtatiously, "from you of course!"
he coughed and excused himself.
"he should really be careful with who he's flirting mindlessly with," y/n rolled her eyes.
angelina laughed, "flirting mindlessly? do you see the way he looks at you?"
"personality," y/n stated simply.
"or not."
true to his word, notes in fred's flurry of handwriting appeared neatly stacked every day. they were far too thorough and consisted of stupid flirty notes by the side. sometimes a little note, written in class, was jammed in there probably by accident:
hello freddie!
i have a crush on you 0-o, hogsmeade at 7pm on sunday?
-jamie <3, boy who sits in front of you in arithmancy
jamie,
i already have my eye on someone :) not you, sorry, y/n cringed at the bluntness of his words
you are very nice, perhaps try trera rivera if you swing that way? or illinois ann if you swing all ways?
oh i'm so sorry, i didn't know that! i'll talk to both. was the gracious answer
-jamie
and again! the lucky boy! this time from a girl.
weasley-
i know we hate each other but give me a chance to explain myself? broom closet at 9 tomorrow ? it trailed off to something that y/n didn't even want to think about.
k.o
fuck off. i don't fucking like you, i like someone else, ffs.
was the reply as y/n laughed and made sure to give the note back to fred.
it wasn't everyday someone confessed to you, right?
she underlined all the words that simply weren't legible to ask fred about.
and aNOTHER ONE?? how did this boy have so many admirers? y/n had received 0 love letters from any boy, let alone people of the same gender. you knew you were good with the ladies (and the gentlemen) when everyone sent you these letters.
dearest frederick-
it droned quite sweetly on about him and loving him and the writing was really magnificent.
margaret perrer
hi marg
i'm really really sorry. you seem like such a nice person, and it's not you, it's me. i, however, have a friend who really adores you: kenneth. he'll be an amazing friend and maybe more.
i also already am interested in another girl, so it really isn't you. thank you for your beautiful letter, hopefully we can be friends!
fred
oh he was very nice. feeling like she had overstepped the boundaries, she put them aside, discovering more and more but putting them all in a stack. she felt slightly insecure, especially when they all looked relatively neW?? the perfume on the flowers still smelled fresh?? who was this guy?
she sighed, finishing her read through and being thoroughly impressed with the sheer quality of the notes.
but there were around 100 words she had underlined. she skipped down into the great hall where she spotted two gingers. as soon as one (she couldn't see which one) saw her, he got up, whispered to the other something, and left.
when she approached the one that was left behind, she saw it was george.
"hi georgie!" she greeted him and thrust the papers into his hand, "where's fred?"
george shrugs, "left, for a date or something."
"oh, okay, could you translate these for me, the underlined words?" if y/n was disappointed, she didn't show it.
"oh yeah, sure, his handwriting's rubbish, isn't it."
"yes it is, i can barely read half of it."
george finished scribbling words next to the underlined ones.
"oh! and give these back to him? i'm pretty sure he dropped them in, probably got mixed up." she gave him the pile of letters, now neatly bundled in rope she had found.
"oh, yeah sure," george smirked, "of course."
"nice, well that's it, thanks for the help!"
"anything else?"
"tell fred good luck."
"right, right, mhm."
"yea."
once she'd left, george took out his walkie talkie.
"got that, freddie?"
"crystal clear."
"you're pining, pffft, hahahahah," george smirked as fred sighed.
"it didn't even work?"
"which plan?"
"the one to drop the letters in."
"i'm pretty sure she read like two, she didn't seem that disappointed?"
"exactly."
"you're an idiot. just tell her."
"but that's boringggg."
"well drop the hints then, merlin fred you're terrible at this."
"i haven't dated a billion girls like you!"
"then learn how to date my goodness."
"true."
"come fucking back."
"hickies or no?"
"eh go for it. i wanna see her reaction and then we can decide whether she likes you or not."
fred strided handsomely in, neck littered with little hickies and his top had two buttons open, freckles and pale broad shoulders showing.
george rolled his eyes, muttering, "drama queen," as he subtlely watched y/n. she managed not to look so surprised, her eyes widening then looking down quickly at her hands.
he would have thought she felt nothing for his twin if a light pink had not dusted over her face and if angie had not nudged her with a concerned look on her face.
y/n was wondering what the hell happened, disappointment rising slowly in her.
"okay, she's into you," george whispered as fred began removing the spell, leaving the unbuttoned shirt unbuttoned.
"cool beans."
"oh and she gives these back," george smirked.
"oh look at how she bundled it! so adorable georgie!"
"you're disgusting."
y/n hurried to the library at 6pm. she had heard the book she had waited for was finally available.
as she settled down with it, a paper aeroplane hit her.
"ahh!" she screamed as she caught it.
it read:
forbidden forest, 8pm.
huh? was this meant for her? it was in neat handwriting and on the smoothest parchment, with a single flower that smelt like fresh rain.

Sebastian Stan One Shot
Can I request a Sebastian Stan x reader where they announce their relationship and there’s a lot of backlash but he helps reader through it (and maybe proposes 🤭).
Can I request a Sebastian Stan x reader where they were keeping their relationship a secret but one night Sebastian says he doesn’t want to hide it anymore so they post about each other but reader gets a lot of hate and Seb helps her through it? Super fluffy sweet ending? Thank you!
"What would you think about maybe going public with our relationship?"
You were brushing your teeth, getting ready for bed when your boyfriend Sebastian comes in and blurts out his question.
The two of you had been together for about sixteen months now and since the beginning, you had agree to keep it out of the public eye.
"I don't know Sebby, the second everyone finds out, we are going to be subjected to all of their opinions. Do you really want that?"
You finish brushing your teeth and walk out into the bedroom.
"You know what? I really do. I love you Y/N. In the past, I have tried to keep my private life private but none of those relationships, none of those women were you. I want the whole world to know how I feel about you."
Even though you still weren't sure about it, you couldn't help but want to make Sebastian happy.
"Alright, fine. We can go public."
Sebastian pulls you into his arms, kissing your head.
"Thank you beautiful."
You climb into bed, grabbing your book, planning on reading a few chapters. Sebastian gets into bed a few minutes later with his phone.
"Alright, what do you think?"
He asks, holding his phone over your book. He slides through the ten pictures he chose for his post.
"Yeah, its fine. Looks good babe."
You smile and go back to your book as he confirms the post. After a few minutes you put the book down, unable to focus on the story knowing that everyone was going to have all sorts of comments about your relationship by morning.
As you had expected, as soon as you woke up, you were bombarded by hundreds of notifications on your phone.
'I thought you had better taste than that Sebastian.'
'She is so ugly why would you ever want to be with her?'
'Hopefully he will dump her nothing ass soon.'
'You aren't good enough for him bitch, go away!'
The comments went on and on until you couldn't look at them anymore and shut off your phone with a sigh.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
Sebastian wakes up, immediately noticing how upset you were.
Without a word, you turn your phone back on and pull up the comments again to show him.
"I told you this would happen."
You get up out of bed and go to make coffee, Sebastian following quickly behind you.
"I'm sorry. Maybe that wasn't the best way to do it but we did it, knowing there would be some trolls. We just can let it rip us apart. We are in this together alright?"
You nod.
"Were in this together."
Even though you had agreed with him, Sebastian could still tell it was bothering you.
A few hours later, you are sitting on the bed when Sebastian walks in.
"I've been thinking, maybe we could try it again."
You look at him confused.
"What are you talking about?"
"What if we did a live together?"
He suggests and you laugh hysterically.
"Are you crazy? What so people can tell us how much they hate us being together in real time?"
"Or maybe it could be just what people need. Lets just try ok?"
Those puppy dog eyes of his pierce your heart and you give in.
"Fine. But if we start getting a ton of hate, we are shutting it off ok?"
He quickly agrees and starts the live before you change your mind.
"Hey guys, so I know that we kind of just bombarded you with the news of our relationship out of nowhere so we thought maybe we would come on here and talk to you guys. First off, this is Y/N."
You wave at the camera with a smile.
"Hello everyone."
Sebastian rubs your back for encouragement.
"We have been together for almost a year and a half. We decided to keep things to ourselves for a while but now we want to share it with you. So if you have any questions let us have them."
Your hands get a little shaky as you wait for the first questions to come in.
'Are you living together?'
"We are, yeah, I moved in about six months ago actually."
'Are you thinking about getting married?'
You giggle a bit at the question as you look at Sebastian, waiting for an answer.
"We have definitely talked about it but I think we are just happy living together for right now."
You finally say after Sebastian stays quiet.
"Actually, I was thinking, I may have changed my mind about that."
The comments begin to go wild. Most of them accusing Seb of trying to break up with you.
"Now guys, be nice. Why would I ever leave this beautiful and amazing woman? Especially after I bought her this."
Sebastian places a small box in your hand.
"Y/N, will you marry me?"
Thousands of people watch as you nod through happy tears and Sebastian places the ring on your finger.
"Well guys, I guess I am officially off the market but we both love you and can't wait to share our life together with you."
By now the comments were mostly congratulatory, making you feel a lot better about everything.
"Thank you to everyone. I was really nervous about doing this or even telling you about us, especially after the comments on our pictures. I thought doing a live was a terrible idea and would only bring more hate towards us but seeing how supportive you all are means a lot."
You blink back more tears as Sebastian ends the live and sets his phone down.
"I cannot believe that just happened. Did we really just get engaged? Are people really ok with us?"
The disbelief was still in full effect as you look down at the gorgeous ring on your finger.
"Yes my love. It just happened. You are going to be my wife. I am going to be your husband. We are going to get married."
Sebastian kisses you, pulling you into his lap as you deepen the kiss.
"Are you happy?"
He asks after you break the kiss.
"Happier than I have ever been in my whole life."

Making Time
Mobius M Mobius x Reader
Part 2
My Masterlist
“1985, huh?” You say, looking up from the briefing Mobius has just handed you.
“Yeah, maybe we’ll spot a delorian?” He jokes, making a Back to the Future reference. You smile at him, remembering when you’d first mentioned the movie. You hadn’t been at the TVA long, to your knowledge.
You’re sat in one of the cafes, explaining something about the timeline to Casey, and you make an offhand reference to the movie. To which, Casey looks even more confused. You glance at Mobius, who’s been sat next to you, watching your teaching with a smile. You offer them both a small smile, at yet another reminder that you’re from somewhere very different from the rest of them.
“Neither of you have seen it have you?” Mobius shakes his head.
“Not a lot of chances for watching movies when dealing with the timeline. Should we get the chance, I’d love to.” It’s a few days later when you give him the chance.
“Honey, I’m home.” You hear Mobius call out, which brings a smile to your face. Whilst you had your own apartment, you much preferred staying with Mobius, like you did when you first arrived at the TVA. You hear him set down a pile of papers in the kitchen, before making his way into the lounge where you’re sat waiting for him. “Hey.”
“Hi.”
“What’s all this?”
“Back to the Future. I went through my file, and managed to find a version that I watched that was uninterrupted. Then I isolated it, and copied it onto one of those cassette reel things, so that it’ll play on your mini projector.” You pause, before adding, “I probably put too much effort into this but, I thought we could have what my time considers a movie night?”
“A movie night?” Your face falls slightly, feeling embarrassed by your suggestion.
“We don’t have to-“ you start. He shrugs off his jacket and settles down next to you.
“Did I not tell you I wanted to watch it, should I get the chance?”
“Well, yeah.” He gestures to the projector.
“Let’s get this show on a roll.” You grin at him, before quickly pressing play on the projector. Mobius leans an arm on the couch and pulls you to his side. “You finally have clearance to access to your file, and you use it to watch Back to the Future?”
“What else was I supposed to do with it?” You joke.
You and Mobius head to the cubicle where you left Loki this morning. You spot him wapping against the desk with a magazine.
“Training going well?” You ask him. He leans back in his chair, attempting to look casual.
“Yeah.”
“Is that my jet ski magazine?” Mobius asks him. “Put it down. Gear up. There's been an attack. Let's go.” He hands Loki the jacket he’s been carrying. You set the briefing down on the desk, and follow Mobius. Loki trails behind you. “Put it on.” Loki shrugs the jacket on, adjusting the collar before posing.
“Nice.” You tell him with a smile.
“Good. Yeah, smart.” Mobius says distractedly. You soon reach the Timedoors, where a small group of hunters have gathered to wait. B-15 opens up the briefing.
“C-20 and her team went dark shortly after they jumped into the 1985 branch. All signs point to another ambush. We've grabbed enough temporal aura to know it's our Loki Variant. But which kind of Loki, remains unknown.”
“They're the lesser kind, to be clear.” Loki specifies. B-15 sighs,
“Let me see the back of that jacket.” Loki does a small turn, showing the group the back of his jacket, where the bright orange letters reading VARIANT stand out. Everyone is the group shares a small smile. You’re glad you don’t have to wear one of those anymore.
“Very subtle. Well done.”
“I don't want anybody out there to forget what you are.”
“Oh, your only hope of capturing a murderer?”
“No. A cosmic mistake.”
“That's enough.” Mobius interrupts.
“Lovely.” You hear Loki murmur.
“Here's the deal.” Mobius begins. “When we get out on the branch, we're not just looking for a Time Criminal. We're looking for a Loki. A variation of this guy. A type we should all be very familiar with, because the TVA has pruned a lotta these guys, almost more than any other Variant.” He skims through a few of the Loki Variants that the TVA have caught before. “And no two are alike. Slight differences in appearances, or not so slight. Different powers, although, powers generally include: shapeshifting, illusion projection, and my favourite-”
“Duplication casting.” Loki interrupts
“Illusion projection.”
“No, they're two completely different powers.”
“How?” You ask him.
“Illusion-projection involves depicting a detailed image from outside oneself, which is perceptible in the external world, whereas duplication-casting entails recreating an exact facsimile of one's own body in its present circumstance, which acts as a true holographic mirror of its molecular structure. But you already knew that.” He explains. You catch a glimpse of Mobius’s smirk before he says,
“Okay, take a breath. Noted. We're gonna break into two teams, including myself and Professor Loki.”
“Why?” A hunter stood beside you asks.
“Because whoever this Variant is, we haven't been able to find him. So let's bring in an expert.” Loki looks around at the group before adding a quiet,
“That's me.”
As the hunters prepare themselves, you hear Loki ask, “Do I get a weapon?” You laugh lightly,
“No chance.”
“Well, I'll have my magic back. Is no one concerned about that?”
“Of what?” Mobius asks.
“Me betraying you.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“You know that we’ll just catch you again.” You tell him.
“And how's betraying us gonna get you any closer to the Time-Keepers?” Mobius adds. Loki leans forward, his attention fixed on Mobius.
“An audience with the Time-Keepers is on the table?”
“Keep that focus.” Mobius tells him. The three of you follow the hunters through the Timedoor, and out into 1985 Wisconsin. Your group makes their way through the crowd of the Renaissance fair before entering a large tent. It’s dark inside, with only a few lanterns to light your path. You watch as B-15 bends down to grasp examine a helmet left abandoned on the floor.
“So he's taking hostages now?” She says, turning to Mobius.
“The Variant's never taken a hostage before.”
“Maybe he's upping his game.”
“Or he pruned her.” One of the hunters remarks, you frown at his callousness towards his colleague.
“A Loki couldn't have gotten the jump on C-20.”
“I think you underestimate, actually...” Loki begins.
“Fan out and search for her. And hurry up, we're at three units until red line.” B-15 orders. Mobius sets a hand on your arm, and the two of you head to the exit.
“Come on.” He says to Loki.
“Wait. If you leave this tent, you'll end up like them.” Mobius stops beside Loki.
“What do you see?”
“I see a scheme, and in that scheme, I see myself.” Loki begins to ramble about an old Asgardian saying.
“Two units. He is wasting our time.” B-15 interrupts.
“Okay. Come on, Loki, make a long story short.” Mobius encourages.
“We need to look for C-20.”
“That's exactly what the Variant wants you to do. It's a trap. He's waiting for you outside this tent.”
“Should I secure the reset charges?”
“No. He wants me. I'm the key to his plan. He knows that I'm stronger. And he rightly believes that together we can overthrow and rule the TVA. But that's not what I want. I have a new purpose. I'm a servant of the Sacred Timeline. And knowing what I now know about his tactics, I can deliver you the Variant, but I need assurances.” He says, looking to Mobius. You glance up at Mobius, frowning slightly. Surely he isn’t believing what Loki’s saying? His eyes catch yours and there’s a small twinkle in them. You hide your smile. Loki circles around Mobius.
“Yeah?” Mobius offers.
“Assurances that I won't be completely disintegrated the moment the job has been done.”
“Right.” Loki leans forward, before whispering,
“We'll need to speak to the Time-Keepers at once. They're in graver danger than we realized.”
“He's lying. Just playing games. There's no one out there.” Mobius calls out to the group.
“Reset the timeline.” B-15 orders.
“You had me for a second. My ears are sharp too.” He points at Loki’s chest. You follow Mobius out of the tent.
“Well that went well.” You remark, hearing Mobius sigh. He runs his hand over his face.
You’re tucking into your lunch when you spot Mobius. He picks out a drink and a salad before making his way over to you. You give him a small smile,
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
“How did it go with Renslayer?” He sighs, leaning his head back, before getting comfortable in his seat.
“Well, our Loki hasn’t been deleted yet.”
“That’s good then?” You offer. He sighs,
“Yeah. Though he’s getting more and more talkative.”
“You did say he loves to talk. Where is he now?”
“I’ve left him with the archives, hopefully he’ll be reading for the next few days. Or at least long enough for me to finish lunch.” He begins to eat his salad. Just then, Loki scampers in looking like a manic puppy.
“I found something.” Mobius shakes his head, keeping his attention on his lunch,
“No, I said don’t bother me until you've read all the files.”
“I have.”
“Every file?”
“Yes.”
“Pertaining to the Variant?”
“The answer isn't in the files, it's on the timeline. He's hiding in apocalypses.”
“Which apocalypse?” You ask.
“Any time in history? There's, like, a million of 'em.” Mobius adds.
“Ragnarok. Are you familiar?”
“Yes. The destruction of Asgard and most of its people. I'm sorry.” Loki pauses looking down.
“Yes, very sad.” He immediately perks up again. “Anyway, it got me thinking. Nexus events happen when someone does something they're not supposed to do, right?”
“Well, it's a little more complicated, but, yeah.”
“Great. And then that thing they're not supposed to do, cascades into a whole range of other things that aren't supposed to happen.”
“And so on and so forth, until eventually, a new timeline branches. Yes?”
“Chaotic alterations of a predetermined outcome.”
“Exactly. So, let's just say...” He picks up the salad bowl from in front of Mobius.
“Mm-hm. What are you doing?”
“...your salad is Asgard in this scenario.” Loki continues.
“It's not Asgard, that's my lunch.” Mobius complains, the pouting clear in his voice. You lean forward, a hand on your chin to hide the smile at Mobius’s reaction.
“It's a metaphor. Just hang in there.”
“I want that salad.”
“And I could go down to Asgard before Ragnarok causes its complete destruction and I could do anything I wanted. I could, let's say, push the Hulk off the Rainbow Bridge.” He picks up a salt shaker and puts a large sprinkling of salt across Mobius’s salad.
“There he goes.” You say, feeling rather invested in this metaphor.
“The salt's Hulk?” Mobius asks, clearly not as enthusiastic as you.
“And I could also... Set fire to the palace.” He picks up a pepper pot and shakes the pepper across the salad.
“No, just stop. Don't set fire to the palace.”
“Okay? I can do whatever I want to do, and it would never matter. It wouldn't go against the dictates of the timeline because...” He sets down the shakers after nearly emptying them both. He heads to the table behind you. “Excuse me?”
“Oh, God!” Mobius sighs.
“You!” Recognising the voice you look up to see Casey looking very confused.
“Nice to see you. I just need this for a second. Thanks.” Loki picks up Casey’s carton of juice, before sitting back down at your table. “Because the apocalypse is coming. Ragnarok, Surtur will destroy Asgard no matter what I do.”
“No, don't do...” Mobius sighs as Loki empties the carton over the remains of the salad.
“There's the apocalypse.” You say with a sigh, offering Mobius your bag of chips.
“That's the apocalypse?” He asks, taking a handful of chips from you with a smile.
“Ragnarok obliterates the salt. Ragnarok. There it is.” Loki gestures to the ruined salad with a proud smile.
“What am I lookin' at?”
“Okay, it was a clumsy metaphor. But you see what I mean. It doesn't matter. It could be any apocalypse. It could be a tidal wave. It could be a meteor. It could be a volcano, a supernova. If everything and everyone around you is destined for imminent destruction, then nothing that I say or do will matter, because the timeline's not gonna branch. Hence, the Variant could be hiding in the apocalypse and do whatever he wants, and we wouldn't know!”
“Not bad.” You offer.
“Take me to a real apocalypse, to Ragnarok, I'll show you. Mobius chuckles,
“Yeah. So you can run away back to your homeland? No.”
“No, I'm not going home. We can go anywhere.”
“I'm not taking you for a stroll along the promenade, much less an apocalypse.”
“Oh, Mobius, come on! What could possibly go wrong? We gotta properly test this theory.”
“Well, here's a fun theory. You lure me out into the field, and stab me in the back. And that's a theory I don't wanna test.”
“I'd never stab anyone in the back. That's such a boring form of betrayal.” He most definitely would stab someone in the back.
“Loki, I've studied almost every moment of your entire life. You've literally stabbed people in the back, like 50 times.”
“Well, I'd never do it again, because it got old.” You both laugh at this. Mobius looks at you, and you shrug.
“Might as well try it?” You offer. Mobius nods,
“Okay.”
“Okay, look, you don't trust me, you can trust one thing. I love to be right.” Loki adds. That certainly isn’t a lie.

Hi, just wanted to give my 5 cents about the teasing and about what's going on on Twitter because I'm mostly active there. I watched all four lives, kept up with the translations and also watched the pre-recorded one which they uploaded recently.
During the vlives that were actually live at one point the members started to talk about Jimin forgetting his words and apologising during his speech. The boys teased him quite a lot and while I absolutely don't think there was any malicious intent Jimin didn't really found it as funny as the others did, probably because he really beat himself up for it which showed in the pre-recorded live. (But I'll come to that one in a moment.)
At one point Yoongi then said that he thinks it wasn't the time to get emotional and that's when Jungkook told Yoongi no. (Jungkook didn't tease Jimin once in the actual vlives that were live.) Namjoon also said that they should leave it at that and Jungkook continued to say that they should comfort him instead of making fun of him to what Namjoon agreed.
After that the talk about Jimin's little slip up stopped, at least in the live vlives.
During the pre-recorded vlive they talked about it again but this time the members were way more supportive. Jimin explained himself and was definitely feeling very bad that he made that "mistake". He constantly implied that he failed to what the members, especially Namjoon and Jungkook, told him no he didn't. In that vlive Jungkook actually jokes about Jimin's little sorry too but you can immediately see the difference how Jimin felt about that joke. He laughed about it, Jungkook made Jimin laugh when he felt insecure.
I think between the actual lives and the pre-recorded one the members talked off screen about what happened in the lives before, so they tried to make up for it during the pre-recorded one. Again the boys definitely didn't mean to harm Jimin or insult him, I just think that for them the little slip up wasn't a big deal, so they thought it was ok to joke about it. It wasn't though which Jungkook made clear at one point and then they stopped.
To what is going on on Twitter. Well, certain shippers and solos use every opportunity to make it look like the members hate Jimin. It's nothing new sadly. That has been going on for a while but this year it got way worse. It's also because a big part of this fandom just let people do it. They don't care. Maybe because they agree or because for them it's a petty ship war when it's not. People posted death threats on Weverse and this fandom just ignored it mostly. So yeah, there's a big, big problem.
hey bubs! let me just thank you for clearing this up for me, i was honestly very confused for a good portion of the day about how many lives they'd done and why the version i saw on vlive when i woke up seemed pre-recorded/edited, and okay this makes sense now! (so if i understand this correctly, the video that is up right now on vlive is the pre-recorded video you're describing here, right? i'll have to come back to it later when the subs are up so i can find the moment and watch it for myself too 🤗)
the idea that they've talked about it off screen in between the live and the pre-recorded video makes a lot of sense, especially if there's this significant difference in how they approach the subject in the new video! it's absurd to imagine there was genuinely any ill intent behind their original reactions. like i said before, sometimes you just aren't as aware of the effects your words/actions might have on someone sitting right next to you, no matter how obvious it seems in hindsight. it doesn't mean you're trying to make them feel bad. it just means there's differences in perception that should be/should have been communicated better, but that's something that can be, and hopefully was, fixed amongst themselves. from what you're describing and from what i saw in that clip as well, i'm very glad jungkook noticed it and intervened, gently but firmly enough so that they'd move on from the subject.
as for the twitter side of things... some parts of this fandom are truly best not to touch with a ten-foot pole. this isn't necessarily comparable, but i'm being reminded of a big part of this fandom's reaction to jungkook and taehyung having that talk during in the soop last year. if they could take something as heartfelt as that and turn it into a ship war/solo stans war, what's come out of this clip shouldn't surprise me.
#do these people think hybe keeps score of who's defended who and who's insulted who when drama happens#do they imagine they accumulate points like the more shit they talk about the boys that aren't their faves the better#anyway i hope jimin's okay taking a hot warm bath in his hotel having his favorite show on while twitter is burning 🥰#answered#anon

The Battle Between Love and Fire-
Ivar the Boneless × Reader
Chapter Forty-Eight part One
Chapter Forty-Eight Continued: "...i am just waiting for the day...he's hanging in those trees.."
Word Count 1.8k
Warnings: none
You watch your daughter's eyes flutter in your warm embrace, as she gently falls asleep. You hum to her while the people around you shout and fuss around you. Hvitserk notices how loud it was getting in the room, and gets frustrated.
Hvitserk "Aye, the baby is trying to sleep! Have some respect huh?!" He shouts as he gets up from his seat to defend her.
"My apologies, my queen." An older viking said. You nod and just try to get Asta to fall back asleep.
Ivar "He is gone." You look up from your gaze. "Is she asleep?"
"Almost."
Ivar "Well we can wait to leave until she is asleep, huh? I do not want to wake her."
"Thank you."
Ivar "No need to thank me, I love Asta. You know that."
"Yes, yes of course." He leans down and kisses your cheek before grabbing something to eat.
As soon as Asta was asleep, Ivar insisted on leaving immediately. To you, that was odd. Why was he in such a rush to leave Kattegat? You do nothing but oblige and you walk out the doors with your husband. You get on top of Neith and you see Hvitserk walking out with Asta in his arms. He waves goodbye to you with her little hand and your heart hurts. You wish that she was old enough to come with you and Ivar, but that is out of the question.
You mouth, i love you, to which he says it back. And just like that, you and Neith flew away and into the vast horizon.
Ivar "We will return soon, you and Ubbe are in charge-"
Hvitserk "I know, go on brother." Ivar nods and clicks his tongue and whips his horse to command it to gallop. But to your surprise, you look behind you and notice both of your dragon's flying a distance away from you.
You giggle to yourself, "Sure..you can come too boys.." Neith's noises became playful, making you laugh even harder. "You three are supposed to be scary, you know." She picks up her speed, proving a point. "Okay, I take that back." She growls and then slows back down. "I love you girl, it feels good to be with you again, hmm?" She coos as if she was whimpering from happiness. You pet her scales as she glides over the water bed. There is no feeling like this one.
Ivar is alone with his thoughts, yet again. But how could he tell you not to ride with your dragon's? They are yours after all. So there he is, riding through the trees, passing the stream that you just did. While watching your dragon's fly close behind you. Ivar does not know what Daario said to you, but he intends on finding out. He does not like that man in the slightest. It is only a matter of time before you see Daario Naharis's true colors.
…
Ivar makes it to the spot before you did, which he did not understand. He sat on the sand, watching you and your dragons fly above him and thinks to himself, "where did she go?" You land and dismount her and Ivar greets you.
Ivar "What took you so long huh?"
"Neith got a little excited, she took the long way."
Ivar nods, "uh huh." And walks away from you.
"What is it, Ivar?"
Ivar "What did Daario say to you, hmm?"
"He congratulated me on having Asta."
Ivar "That is it?"
"No, he complimented me as well." He nods and his jaw clenches. You can tell that he was infuriated because he lost eye contact with you. He only does that when he does not want you to see how angry he is. So as the wife you are, you cup his cheeks and kiss his lips. He immediately melts in your touch and forgets why he was so angry.
"Listen to me my love. Naharis is like every man, he flirts with beautiful women. But I am not like other women who fall under their spell. I love you Ivar Lothbrok. You are my person, aren't I yours?"
Ivar "Yes. You are mine and so much more."
You smile, "So do not allow Daario to get under your skin. He wins if you do that. Do you want him to win?"
Ivar "Of course not but-"
"Then don't let him. He knows how it makes you feel when he looks at me, he does it on purpose Ivar. Do not let him see your anger."
Ivar licks his lips, "Okay, my love."
"And one day, if he goes over the line, I want to make the first wound." He chuckles at that, mission accomplished.
Ivar "Yes, my queen."
"I am serious.."
Ivar "Okay but do not kill him, I want those honors."
"Mmm, I will have to think about that one beloved." Ivar crashes his lips to yours and grabs your waist. His kisses are sweet and gentle, with love and passion.
Ivar pulls back, "I remember the first time I kissed you."
"It feels the same. The same spark-"
Ivar "It has never faded."
You agree, "How could it? We are fated to be together." he smiles and kisses your entire face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Hvitserk takes care of his daughter, he gets this vision. But it is not a horrible vision, in fact it is one of the most beautiful visions that he has ever gotten to witness. As he is holding baby Asta in his arms, he is also watching her grow up right before his eyes. In his vision, he can see her running in the fields of Norway, her long blonde hair trailing behind her as she runs through the wind. And you are running beside her and he can hear you two giggling away. Once the two of you stop running, Asta, who looks to be around 5-8 years of age, looks at him with the biggest smile. He could feel his heart just about explode in his chest at such a sight. He opens his arms long and wide and she runs into his arms as he lifts her off the grassland. As the vision fades, he returns to the present moment and realises how blessed his life has become.
Ubbe "What are you smiling about, brother?"
Hvitserk "hmm?"
Ubbe "You are staring at the wall and smiling-"
Hvitserk "ah..yes."
Ubbe sits down, "Well..?"
Hvitserk "I had a wonderful vision, Ubbe."
Ubbe "A wonderful vision?"
Hvitserk "Yes! I have never experienced one like it."
Ubbe "Tell me everything, I'd love to hear some good news." Hvitserk gladly told his brother every detail of his vision as he watched Ubbe smile with pure joy and excitement on his face.
Hvitserk "I have never been this happy in my entire life, Ubbe. I have never felt so much joy."
Ubbe "That is what children do, my brother."
Hvitserk "But I never thought that this day would come for me Ubbe..I always wished to become a father like we all do but now that I am, it all feels like a dream."
Ubbe "You are not dreaming Hvitserk, she is really here. She is in all of our lives."
Hvitserk looks down at Asta, who is now wide awake and fussing in his arms, "Shh shhh shh..I know you want your mother but she is not home."
Ubbe "What do you think Ivar is talking to her about right now?"
Hvitserk "Knowing Ivar, he is probably asking her all about Naharis and the conversation that they had."
Ubbe "I am just waiting for the day he crosses that line and he's hanging in those trees."
Hvitserk chuckles, "I am pretty sure that he will not die that way, my brother. That would be too easy."
Ubbe grunts, "You are right."
Hvitserk "Hopefully we are wrong and he is a noble man. But something about him worries me."
Ubbe "At the same time..he did save her life."
Hvitserk "At Wessex..I know."
Ubbe "So maybe we are just being..overprotective."
Hvitserk "How could we not be? She has gone through-"
Ubbe "I know, I know. But everything will work out just fine Hvitserk. I am sure of it."
Hvitserk nods, "For all of our sakes, I hope you're right." Ubbe stands up and takes Asta out of his arms to cradle her in his arms as tightly as he possibly could without breaking her like a twig.
Ubbe "You are too perfect, little one."
Hvitserk "Mm, isn't she?"
Ubbe "I'm going to steal her-" he said before sprinting down the hallway and into the throne room. Hvitserk rolls his eyes and laughs as he rushes out the door to retrieve his daughter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Ivar holds you as you two lay down by the water, Ivar begins to play with your long blonde hair. You hum from the satisfaction of that warming feeling.
Ivar "Asta is going to have your long hair, I can see it in my mind."
"Mm, and I will braid it. And I will do her hair for her first battle-"
Ivar "Oh..that day will be.." you turn to face him so that you could look into his eyes.
"Ivar?"
Ivar "Frightening."
"You worry about her?"
Ivar snickers, "Yes, my love. She may not be mine but she is a part of you. When I look at her, I see you. So yes, I worry about her and her future."
"She will be strong, Ivar. She will be a warrior, just as I am and you are."
Ivar drops his head, "I am not a warrior, I am just a king."
"You are a warrior." He sighs, "You are. And everyone alive, who knows of your name, knows how strong and powerful you are, Ivar."
Ivar smiles softly, "I do not deserve you, Y/n."
"Why do you always say that?"
Ivar "Because I do not. Your love is so pure..you are so beautiful inside and out and I am the opposite." You turn your head in confusion, "I am feared by my people and you are loved by yours-"
"Not by all. I was almost executed by one of my women because she did not wish for me to be her queen. Do you not remember?"
Ivar "Yes. But I have done unimaginable things to people that did not deserve death."
"Everyone makes mistakes Ivar. No one is perfect but the gods."
Ivar "I just want you to know that I am not that person anymore, my love-"
"I know that you are not."
Ivar "You..changed me Y/n. You made me a better man, a better brother and king. I love you.."
"And I love you." You kiss him softly before getting up. "Come on, let's go home."
Ivar smiles as he gets up after you, "Yes, my queen." You walk towards your dragons and look up at them.
"I am going to ride with them, you go on." They shriek and leap off of the soft ground, shaking the earth underneath them and fly off into the horizon. "Let's go see Asta."
Ivar "Yes..I miss her." He offers you his hand with a smile as he helps you into his carriage and you two go home to your beautiful daughter. Connected in a way that you were not earlier this day.

She's Got A Date-EoWells X Allen!reader- Part III
*The GIF is not mine. All rights to the owner*
Part II
Summary: You headed out to have a drink with Iris, and after few cold ones, a realization dawned on you.
Warnings: None, besides alcohol. Drink accordingly, kids.
***
Iris invited you for some Girls' Night Out. You were reluctant to go out. The prison needs to be done chop-chop, so when 'The Mist' is apprehended, he'll have a place to rot in without harming anyone again.
And if you're being perfectly honest, you do want to go out, and talk and drink, but there are more pressing matters at hand. Much more than Iris' love life, and the game she chose to play.
Everyone left, except for Cisco who is in his own office. And since you don't have an office, shocking as might that sound with this place this big. You decided to stay in the cortex.
You like the solace when it comes to thinking. And dark places, weirdly. You turned off every light inside the deserted cortex, the only light illuminating the room was the display of Barry's suit and some lamps on the desks.
Nibbling on your pen, your feet up on the desk, you have been trying to get him off your mind. You had to leave the pipeline to cool off. It was hard doing something vital to the safety of people of the city and have your mind be plagued by something that revolves around your love life. It was very selfish. But you couldn't lie to yourself that it doesn't bother you; you're so distracted, and it's not the time to be.
You were pulled out of your reviere by a ding from your phone, thinking it's probably Iris, checking in whether you're still coming or not. You ignored it. She's being pretty insistent on going out; it means something happened. And it's Barry she should be pestering. You muted your phone for the sake of your peace of mind.
"Why are you still here?" Your head whirled around, taking your feet off the table. It was Wells behind you. You were startled, but not enough to make you jump or flinch. You didn't even hear him come in, perhaps you were just too caught up in your thoughts… of him.
"Why are you still here?" You were surprised. He disappeared hours ago, you thought he left without saying goodbye, because of what happened earlier. You would've done the same thing, as immature as that sounds.
"I want to see how the prison will turn out," he answered nonchalantly, moving beside you.
You straightened in your seat, clearly uncomfortable with his presence. You cleared your throat. "Well, I have to build it,"
"I think Cisco and I will be able to handle it perfectly fine if you go out for one night." He said, acting a little bit too normal.
"I know," you murmured. They're both adults and definitely much smarter than you, they can more than handle it, but it's hard to leave, but not
"Good. Then go out with Iris. Have fun," he insisted.
You brows furrowed, giving him a confused look. "Dr. Wells, I have to get—"
"It's okay. We'll be fine," he interrupted.
Your lips parted to retort, but he stared at you, eyes didn't even contain a hint of playfulness. You knew his eyes so well. And it made you more confused why he was pushing to go out and act like nothing happened, like you didn't just have the conversation earlier.
"Are you sure?" You questioned. Just to be safe, in case he was playing.
He nodded. He was giving you a seal of approval. You can't really disobey the boss, and besides, it might be well-needed. Just to get over what's been bothering you, and be more focused on work without thinking of Wells. It might be helpful. Or not. It's booze, you're taking it.
You heaved your chest in defeat with a grateful smile. "Okay. Fine." You stood up, and gathered your things and coat.
When you turned back to him, he was looking at you expectantly, you hesitated. You hesitated whether you should kiss him. He's still your boyfriend, and it's not the biggest fight in the world, so you went against every cell in your body that is so annoyed with him right now, leaned into him and gave him a brief peck on the lips.
It felt different, you knew the moment that you pulled away. It's blocked off, plain, just merely lips meeting— no smile after it like last night. You pushed the thought in the back of your mind and exited the cortex, you waved goodbye to Wells, and he waved back.
You sent Iris a text that you were coming, and she was ecstatic. And slightly tipsy.
You arrived at the bar. Hopefully, Iris isn't too drunk or has left. The cab ride price was ridiculous.
You stepped inside the bar, immediately welcomed by it's warm and bright ambience and the amount of large potted plants, and vines hanging off the wall was a refreshing sight. It's not so often you'll see that in a bar.
The stench of wood, bar food and alcohol filled your nostrils. It was loud and crowded; filled with conversation, laughters, and laughters, singing along at whatever the guy on stage was singing. Most of the people were still in their office attire, in their probably in their mid-20s to their late 30s.
You weaved through the crowd, looking around for Iris. You heard a shout, you didn't quite understand it, due to the noise, but you tried to make out of it as you heard it once more. Whipping your head around, you saw Iris by the bar, waving at you.
You walked to her with a smile on your face. She pulled you in, enveloping you into a tight, warm hug. You felt yourself sigh inwardly.
You didn't realize how much you needed it. The sense of comfort that you never had since your mom died. You crave it, but even if it's not as good as your mom's, it really hit the spot right now. Perhaps you were more upset than you thought.
You let go and both took a seat on the stool. You called the bartender and ordered yourself a beer.
She turned to you and asked, "How's your day?"
You exhaled sharply, while Iris looked at you expectantly. You had a hard time answering that. Well, to sum it up: Someone had died, there's crazy meta on the loose, and apparently he turns into a mist; Barry almost died, you have to build a makeshift prison; oh, and there are many things that you have to do, but you can't get your mind off your boyfriend and what he said. And yet, the last thing that you are is what you replied.
"Fine. You?"
"Fine," she replied.
You picked it up right off the bat that you were both lying, not only to each other, but to yourselves as well. After all of what's happening, you felt the need to.
"Cool. What's up?"
She shrugged with a little pout Joe does when he lies. "Nothing. Just wanna catch up,"
So you did. You talked about how work was the latest news in pop culture, whatever Barry was doing. You were two girls with secrets and if any of the topics touched relationships, romance or secrets in particular, you dodged it like how Barry dodges bullets.
The night went on. Hundred songs were sung by random people on the stage, and you start to feel the alcohol you start to kick off in your system. You two started talking about your childhood. About things you did, she did that pissed the hell out of Joe. There were a lot; you were a pain in the poor man's ass.
You faced Iris, head tilted on, as you placed it on the palm of your hand. Your head feels a little lightheaded, but you'll manage.
"Remember when Joe caught us drinking his beer?" You inquired.
A tipsy Iris broke into a grin, nodding. Oh she remembers it too well. "Yup. He was so mad. It was so funny." She giggled uncontrollably.
"Yeah, and we got grounded for a week," you retorted, taking a sip of your beer.
"Well, you helped us sneak it in the room!" She exclaimed, pointing a finger accusingly.
"Only because you said it tasted good!" You retorted.
"And you believed me," she smirked.
You rolled your eyes dramatically, taking a sip of your drink. In your defense, you were 14. Not that they were much older— a year, actually. But you do regret it. Because of being grounded, you missed a date with Logan Garrick, your long time crush. Guess you weren't really one for dates.
As the smiles on your faces faded slowly, the energy you two radiated simmered down. Your voices or stories weren't the only ones that matters; everyone, the noises, the place you forgot you were in started sinking into your senses.
You were both hiding from the truth and someone has to cut the chase, be forthcoming with it tonight or you're both going to go crazy.
It's not gonna be you. At least not yet. As much as you aren't fond of his choice, you just can't.
You might not know Iris like your brother does, but you knew her. You're not stupid. This grab a drink with little sis is just a façade. One of the façade you're both putting up, anyway.
"So, what's up— like really?" You asked.
"What?" Iris eyebrows knitted in faux confusion.
You gave her a sharp look. You're not sober enough to play along with her denial.
She snorted, brushing you off. You maintained your stern expression, she laughed at you for staring at her, testing how far she can push her luck and convince you. Her laughs trailed off and she stared at you for a moment to see if you're gravely serious. You were.
Realizing it. She sighed, defeated. She tore her eyes off you down to her drink.
"Is it Eddie?" You asked.
Her jaws tightened at the mention of his name.
"What happened?" You insisted.
Turmoil in relationships is not something that is easy to talk about, and it can be pretty overwhelming. You know it yourself, which is precisely why you know it's very important to get it off your chest. But you can't go on throwing out your problems without questions, so the closest thing to that is helping Iris.
"He showed at home while Dad was there," she started. You almost spat drink, looking at her with wide eyes, terrified. You worry that Joe may have found out and he did not take it well. "We got away with it, but..." she paused.
"But...?"
She exhaled. "But he said that keeping our relationship is killing our relationship,"
You stiffened. If that didn't hit you so hard. Your chest tightened, as you felt a pang of pain in your heart; you never thought you will relate to someone ever that it will hurt.
You inhaled sharply, struggling to keep it together as all the emotions are raging through you.
"Did you explain why you didn't want Joe to know?"
She nodded. "Yeah. I told him that Dad won't like it and he wouldn't support it, and he'd be very angry. He said he understands— but I know he doesn't, Y/N. I feel it. He isn't okay with it, and it bothers me so much, because it might threaten our relationship." Her eyes glistened with tears welling up in her eyes, under the light. Her voice was starting to strain. It shows how visibly upset she was with the issue, and it pains you so hard how you can easily understand and put yourself in their situation, because you are in the exact position.
"I don't know what to do. Do I keep it from Dad and jeopardize my relationship with Eddie, or jeopardize my relationship with my Dad by telling him about Eddie?"
She turned to you, confused and torn up; it was like a cry for comfort and advice.
You pressed your lips together tightly, as much as you try to keep at bay, the emotions surged, putting a crack on the dam of your tears. You swore to God that this day is a bitch. Barry should be here. He should be comforting the girl he's in love with, not you.
You were okay. You said you were okay. You were gonna get over it and you'll be fine, and now you're just questioning everything you thought you felt.
"You can't keep doing this to you or to him, Iris. You can't dictate who he's going to tell, because he's part of this relationship as much as you are. It must have felt so suffocating, and controlling, and he has to look at your Dad every single day, and it feels as though he's betraying him and—" you paused, realizing you were getting carried away. Your voice almost wavered if you hadn't stopped.
You realized two fundamental truths, and it hit like a freaking wrecking ball and Miley Cyrus was on it—one, Wells was avoiding the elephant in the room earlier. And so were you.
Two, you weren't talking about Eddie anymore. You were talking about yourself.
You felt the warm water pooling in your eyes. You know you have to take it down a notch or you'll burst. So you laughed, not that it helped.
"I guess my point is he's gonna explode, and you don't let it get to that," you told her, looking into her eyes, through her soul to prove your point.
"What am I gonna do then?"
You let out a breath, uncertain. If you knew, you would have a perfect love life right now. "I don't know. Talk to him, I guess. Work this out; compromise,"
Silence befell, the tension was intense and uneasy. You and Iris may never be bound by blood, but you're still sisters. And it became evident how you two have more similarities than being in a secret relationship, when you both turn your heads to side to hide your face. To wipe the tears that spilled and compose yourself.
After that, you both turned back, but still didn't speak. Iris seems to be thinking deeply, maybe considering your insights. While you were occupied with your own mind's thoughts.
"When did you become an expert to all this?" She joked.
You chuckled. "Since I dated Danny in College,"
She groaned upon hearing your college boyfriend's name. "Ugh. I remember that idiot."
He really was an idiot.
Debbie isn't your name, and you sure as hell ain't a downer either. You didn't come out to drink to cry about this. You weren't supposed to at all.
Tonight, you need to distract yourself from whatever you're feeling. Laying eyes on the karaoke, there was an instant ding in your head.
You looked at Iris. "You know what? Let's not think about this tonight. Let's have fun and we can worry about this tomorrow." You got off your stool and grabbed Iris' wrist.
Not having a chance to protest, you half-dragged her to the man in charge of the karaoke. You grabbed the song book and searched for a song. Iris did give you a weird look, obviously confused with sudden mood changes, but you shrugged it off.
That night, you sang, you drank, you laughed, and cheered so hard. You knew it was embarrassing, but you were desperate.
Each time you feel your eyes water, tears threatening to spill, or your heart aching, you distract yourself with another song or drink, or just pretend to pay attention to what's in front of you. You tried to make sure that your mind won't think.
Your emotions are off-limits tonight. You don't want to feel them tonight. Tomorrow, maybe, but tonight, you can't. It's just all too much to bear right now.
***
Damn. Almost cried when I writing this. Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if you share it and give it some love. Thanks!

You Are My Best Friend Chapter 5
When they arrived back into the hall. Astrid and Heather had also returned and Tuffnut had quickly joined in telling stories that got most of everyone laughing. Snotlout stood away though still distracted and thinking over his feelings from earlier. Not just earlier but in general.
Even in their teen years growing up on the Edge. He had always been... fond of him. Perhaps even more then Ruffnut. Even flirting with Ruff he had always found Tuffs reactions kind of amusing. Plus the rivalry with Fishlegs had been fun. He thought about the other night though. Where Tuff said he didn't love Ruff. It was true... he didn't love Ruffnut. At least not like that.
But did that mean he loved Tuffnut? How long had he been harboring feelings for him?
"You seem distracted." Dagurs voice suddenly called. Jerking Snotlout out of his thoughts as he looked over at the Beserker king. Dagur was actually looking at him in a bit of concern but everyone else seemed to still be distracted with their own things. Which came at kind of a relief.
"Its nothing." Snotlout mumbled gaze immediately going back to Tuff which did not go unnoticed by Dagur.
"Oh, I know that look." Dagur stated.
"What? What look there was no look." Snotlout said hurriedly.
Dagur just hummed looking over at Tuff who was currently laughing whole heartedly. "He's not a bad choice honestly. Think he would be interested too. He gives off that... vibe." Dagur said.
"What vibe?" Snotlout questioned.
Before Dagur could answer though Hiccup called everyones attention. Dagur just squeezing Snotlouts shoulder before walking over to Hiccup as he thanked the Beserkers for their visit. Snotlout however found he had enough of socializing.
At least sober and seeing some mead next to him he didn't even care that it burned as he started to down it. Ignoring everything as he just focused on the hopefully blissful feelings it would give.
---------------------
Night fall was finally upon them as the night of partying started to come to a close. The mead had helped and the few others Snotlout drank afterwards. Meaning that he was plenty drunk throughout most of it. At one point he had stumbled outside to go piss when as he was returning he recognized Tuffnut. Sitting outside and just staring up at the moon. A troubled look on his face.
Against better judgement Snotlout stumbled towards the other. Practically falling into him. Not missing how it caused the other to jump but Tuff caught him anyway. "Whoa you're a few bottles down aren't you?" Tuff questioned. Helping steady Snotlout as Snotlout just sat down. Leaning against the twin as it just felt right.
"Yeah." He breathed out before breaking into a giggle. "Every'hing so swimmy." He mused. Tuff just gave him a small smile before looking back out at the entirety of Berk.
"I imagine." He flinched as he heard what sounded like a brawl start in the mess hall. Something that Snotlout caught and without filter immediately called him on.
"Y' so jumpy. What y' scared?" He teased.
Tuffnut just met his gaze for a moment before looking back inside. "I don't like it when people are drunk. It just... reminds me of bad things." He said cryptically holding onto his arms. "I honestly don't even like being drunk myself. I get too serious." He explained with an awkward laugh.
Snotlout just frowned. The energy felt different in this conversation. But he also felt like he couldn't keep up. His brain foggy and unable to focus. "Th'nk its funny." He just said instead.
Tuff just gave a small smile at that before getting to his feet. Holding out his hand and grabbing onto Snotlouts to lift him up. Snotlout gladly accepted the others hands leaning into him as he grinned. "I think you've had too much. You're practically on top of me." Tuff teased.
Snotlout though suddenly leaned all his weight on top of Tuff. Causing them both to fall. Snotlout standing over Tuff with a flirty grin. "Well I love being on top of you~" He teased. Looking down at the other.
Tuff still had an awkward smile on his face but as Snotlouts hand went to rest on Tuffs chest. He found his heart beating extremely fast. His whole body tensed. Neither of them moved at first, as if neither knew what to say. Without thinking though Snotlout suddenly leaned down pulling the other into a soft kiss.
Surprised by how soft the other was. Snotlout let out a happy moan as he attempted to deepen the kiss only to suddenly find him pushed away. Chastised he looked down at Tuff surprised to find tears in his eyes. Immediately concerned he cupped the others face for a moment. "Tuffy?" He questioned.
Tuff looked up at him as he said his name. "So you are aware it's me?" He asked a bit detached. Snotlout nodded not sure why Tuff asked that.
"Then why did y-" Tuff went to start again when Snotlout again just leaned down and kissed him. This time though he was pushed away much quicker and a whine escaped him.
"Stop it!" Tuff cried out. Kicking out from under Snotlout and getting up away from him. Immediately Snotlout grabbed his wrist though causing him to whip around and glare at the other. Snotlout just looked sad and confused though and perhaps that caused Tuff to soften even as he looked a bit wary.
"You're drunk Snotty. Maybe, I should take you back to your hut." He offered.
"Oh what we doin' there." Snotlout asked hopefully. Tuff laughed at that before reaching out and pulling the other to his feet. Being quick to stop him from leaning to completely on him.
"You are going to sleep and I'm probally going to go for a walk to forget this happened." Tuff admitted.
"Do y'u not like me? I really like y'. I thin' I want to be with y'. That always wanted t' be with y'." Snotlout admitted ruining it by again pushing past the little barrier Tuff made for himself. As he crushed the other against the stone. Rubbing against him with his obvious excitement.
Tuff for his self blushed but mostly just looked alarmed at the attention. "Get off." Tuffnut warned.
"Please. You are so soft and wa-" Snotlout didn't get to finish that sentence as suddenly Tuff reached out and decked the other hard. Enough to knock him out. Breathing heavily the twin looked down at the other. Not exactly meaning to knock him out but panicking due to the situation.
Bending down he pulled the other against his lap making sure he didn't badly injure him before sighing. "Maybe if you weren't blackout drunk I would have took you up on the offer." He admitted softly. Which was honestly part of the reason why he was resisting. Well that and he just despised drunk people. They were rude, pushy, got in your personal space and... reminded Tuff of him.
He wasn't the strongest and it would take a lot to drag Snotlout back to his hut. So getting up he found a wheelbarrel before bringing it over to Snotlout and lifting the other in. Wincing as he saw the bruise starting to form. Making sure he was secure though he just started to walk down the hill lost in his own thoughts.
So Snotlout for sure liked him. He wasn't so sure after the flight with Hookfang but this had proved it. Tuff though didn't know how he felt. Admittedly, he had had a crush on Snotlout. But it had started to fade after he kept not showing any interest. Even going after his sister which honestly had made Tuff quite jealous. So his old feelings about the boy had kind of faded. But after tonight and even a few nights ago. It seemed they were starting to return.
As they made it to his hut. He didn't see any of his family around which was kind of a relief. Spitelout wasn't the nicest man. Especially to Tuffnut. Having made his spite of the twin quite known. He had made it all the way to Snotlouts bed and resting the other on it. He tucked him in gently before smoothing back his hair.
Taking his helmet and setting it aside for him. Spotting a stuffie nearby he also grabbed that before handing it to Snotlout. Watching as he suddenly snuggled into it. Which was a good sign. Seemed he went straight from knocked out to asleep. He was viking, a drunk viking, Tuff expected nothing else. Hesitating for a moment after standing up he leaned down and kissed the other on the forehead. "We need to talk when you are clear enough to remember." He mumbled. Turning to leave only to spot Snotlouts mother watching him.
Eyes widening the two met gazes before Tuff muttered an apology and quickly left the others room. Moving quickly through the house and practically breaking into a run after he escaped the doorway. Once a good mile away from the house. He slowed down before sighing. Feeling tears threatening to fall again. Now that he was alone though he figured he didn't mind.
And collapsing the twin just let his emotions go.

Once Upon A Time, In A Far Away Land... - AU:
The legend says that King Raymond, then still a Prince and an adventurer, went to find the terrible threat known as the dragon witch, that has been rumored to have hurt innocent people and was the cause of great distress for a long time. What he found was a lovely, beautiful woman with charm and wit and a heart of gold, who's reputation had been tainted by those who tried to steal from her and payed the price when she defended herself.
It was then and there that the king decided he would do anything to make her happy.
Many years later, and the two married and had a family together. Three beautiful boys. Two of them ordinary looking twins, and the younger one seemingly half dragon and half human.
Now of course not everyone in the kingdom was immediately on board with their new queen, not did they all approve of the princes, especially the young one. But eventually, most of them came around, or at the very least knew better than to voice their negative opinions.
The years pass and the children grow up. Roman and Remus learn magic and swordsmanship, both being more talented in the latter, and they go on lots of adventures, both together and separately.
while Drake learns all that and more, doing his best to perfect all his skills but being especially talented in magic. he wants to be able to always have the right answers, to never be caught unprepared.
Unfortunately, he is caught very unprepared.
One day, while adventuring in a part of the woods rumored to be overtaken by the misfits and rebels of the kingdom, Roman and Remus are caught in one of their traps.
"well well well, a couple of trespassers." A hooded figure teased, eyes lighting up in amusement.
"those are no ordinary trespassers! It seems we're in the company of royalty!" Replied a man with glasses who didn't seem that mean compared to the hooded figure.
"Vee did good job with those traps, I gotta hand it to him." Said the woman among them, sounding pleasantly surprised.
The twins were too weak from their previous fight to do much, and they could only stare angrily as they waited for one of the rebels to speak.
Finally, the woman gave an order.
"R, Em, escort our guests. I'll go tell boss the wonderful news."
Hours later, as Drake was pacing in his room and his parents were sitting in the throne room patiently waiting for news on the whereabouts of their sons, all knowing it isn't like them to disappear for this long without giving a proper warning.
Finally, a message came, from the leader of the forest dwellers.
"if you wish to see your sons, there are matters to discuss. I will come to the forest's entrance every night for the next three days. Send a representative, they must come alone. We shall see if we can come to an agreement that's favorable for both sides. Should you fail to accept this offer, we will have no choice but to keep the princes as our prisoners. Their transgressions can not go unpunished, but perhaps theit unfortunate mistake can bring about a new era, for all those who deserve a better life.
Sincerely, P. Sanders"
Drake couldn't sleep that night, knowing that his parents had no intention listening to the rebels' wishes. He couldn't help but worry what his life would be like without his brothers. He didn't like the idea of it, not one bit.
So that night, after tossing and turning in his bed for hours, he decided to do something he never thought he'd do in his life.
He snuck out of the castle to disobey his parents.
He went to the entrance of the forest to speak to the leader of the rebels. The man he saw before him, however, was not at all what he expected.
Patton Sanders has been fighting ever since he could remember himself. He was hardly the first rebel to find shelter in these woods, but with all the elders that had raised him having passed away, he became the new leader. It wasn't an easy job, but it was rewarding, and someone has to do it. He couldn't let all these poor people go without any help, not when he knew from personal experience how hard it was to survive in the kingdom for anyone who couldn't be born or marry into nobility, and who couldn't fit into whatever narrow path was set up for them.
So to see that the king and queen sent their youngest son to negotiate was... puzzling, to say the least. After all, you'd think at least one of them would want to show up to discuss a way to get their sons back.
But when he saw the prince's nervous body language, he suspected he knew what was really going on.
"greetings, Mr Sanders." the young prince gave a small bow.
~at least he cares enough to show up and be formal about it.~ Patton thinks and decides that he can allow himself to be a little nice.
"please, Mr Sanders was my father. You can just call me Patton, your highness."
"oh, alright. Well then I suppose you can address me as Drake, if you wish."
There was a moment of uneasy silence before Drake decided he'll cut to the point.
"so what is it that you want in exchange for my brothers' safe return?"
"simply put? Justice."
Drake raised an eyebrow, not in judgement or mockery but in confusion. "I'm afraid you're going to have to be a bit more specific."
"why is it, you think, that generations of outcasts and misfits have sought shelter in these woods? Have you considered why we'd need to seek shelter from our own kingdom?"
Drake had a few ideas, but by the look on his face they troubled him too much to express.
Patton sighed in sympathy and decided to say it himself, as he had many times before, to save the young prince (who actually was about Patton's age, although the leader looked older due to all that he's had to endure) the embarrassment.
"the kingdom is under attack from within itself. The rich and powerful are attacking the poor and helpless, by not extending to them the aid they need in order to just barely survive, let alone thrive as the nobles do. And your parents have been complacent, content to let the broken system that benefits them go on as it always had. All I want is equality. To be provided with what we need to survive and to be allowed to exist however we choose, be given the same freedom the nobles have that we had to escape from the kingdom into the forest to find. That is all the rebels have ever wanted, and it is all I ask."
Drake listens carefully, studying Patton's face for any deception or insincerity, and finds none. He sighs, tiredly, heavily.
"you know my parents didn't send me, don't you?"
"I figured as much, yes."
"so you understand this is gonna be hell on earth for me, trying to accomplish what you're asking of me, against their wishes, right?"
"indeed, but considering your choice of words, it sounds to me like you've already joined the cause."
"...unfortunately, yes." Drake couldn't help but agree. He knew it was dangerous, and would take expert planning, and would be downright impossible to achieve, but besides the fact that it was the only way to get his brothers back without starting an unnecessary war with the peaceful forest dwellers, it was also the right thing to do. And besides, Patton was very cute- convincing! Drake had meant convincing, he insisted to himself, unconvincingly. Yes the irony of that is not lost on him.
Meanwhile, At the rebels' campsite, the twin princes were surprised to find that aside from the occasional jab or tease, they were being treated rather respectfully. Sure their hands were tied to ensure they couldn't escape but they were treated more like guests rather than prisoners. In fact, they were treated like equals, which has never happened to them before. Their parents treated them like kids and, although they tried to be subtle about it, so did a lot of the older nobles, and everyone else treated them like royalty, which they were. But this was the first time they've ever had a normal conversation with people who saw them as equals.
Roman was a bit huffy at first, insisting he be treated with the respect worthy of a prince, only to be met with laughter and eye rolls. "there aren't any classes here, you're no better than anyone else. Better get used to it, Princey." said a figure standing completely in shadow, though his eyes almost glistened in the darkness, the fire reflecting off them. "let him whine, Vee. It's all he's got now." the woman he now knew as Valerie teased, and the only reason he let her get away with it is because she had bested him in combat earlier that day, when he made a daring escape attempt. Seeing as she proved herself a fierce warrior, she had his begrudging respect. But then he heard the shadowed figure chuckle in response, and the sound evoked many different emotions in him, so he decided to focus on annoyance and anger. "so, you're the Vee in charge of the cowardly contraption that ensnared my brother and I." Roman could see the eyes squint as they looked him up and down, and then a smug smirk spread across the shadow's face. "the very same. Pretty neat trick, isn't it?" "I don't know what you think is so impressive about a machine made by a man too weak and scared to best his enemies face to face." "it's efficient, and it takes a hell of a lot more wit and talent than waving a sword around like a reckless idiot." the shadow bit back, sounding very defensive. Roman would have been prouder to have gotten him riled up if it were for Valerie looking very mad at him for insulting who he now had to assume is a friend of hers. He really didn't wanna anger Valerie. "I wouldn't expect a ruffian like you to understand anything about the fine art of sword fighting." at that, the shadow growled. Well and fully growled, sending a shiver down Roman's spine, filling him with fear and... Well he was going to ignore that other feeling for now and hopefully it would go away. "okay, fuck this. Val, can you untie his hands?" Valerie's eyes went wide. "Vee, you don't have to-" "no, I want to. It's worth it to get this asshole to shut up and show some respect." Roman would have said something if he weren't intrigued by the conversation. "alright, but I don't like this." "no one's gonna get hurt. I promise." as Valerie untied his hands she glared at him. "what? How was I supposed to know he'd react this way? Also what the hell is going on?" "you'll see in a second, just don't see this as a chance to try escaping again or I'll personally knock you unconscious." "noted." as the bindings were fully removed from his hands and Valerie backed away, Vee stepped out of the shadows, allowing Roman to see him for the first time. This was already a very big problem for Roman, as he was not prepared for how hot the rebel was. To make matters worse, Roman wasn't done checking him out sizing him up, when Vee pulled a sword from where it was resting on his hip, and he held it directly at Roman's throat, just inches away from grazing his skin. And that really should not have made the blood rush to the direction it did for Roman, but his body just had the worst timing. Luckily, somehow, he still managed to focus on Vee's next words.
"you wanted to fight face to face? Fine. I, Virgil Fabre, challenge you to a duel."
And that is when Roman realized his big mistake. Well, too late to back out now.
"I accept your challenge."
Remus was ecstatic, though. He immediately started feeling more at ease and free to be himself. He didn't even mind being tied up all that much, and he made sure to get that point across with a bunch of inappropriate humor that made everyone uncomfortable. Well all except for the two men who brought them to the camp, and a third, much cuter nerd, resembling the rebel in glasses but seemingly more stoic, but even he was clearly smiling at one of Remus's crass jokes. Their eyes locked and the serious rebel blushed and turned back to resume his conversation with the men he now knew as Remy and Emile. Fuck. Finding a way to enjoy being kidnapped while waiting to be rescued or until he found a way to escape? That was one thing. But crushing on one of the rebels who was holding him prisoner? Remus would have to be a fool to act on these emotions. He glanced the other way to check on his brother and asked why he was sword fighting with one of the rebels. After being updated on what happened, he sighs heavily. Well you know what? If Roman was allowed to be stupid, and they were truly equals in this forest, then dang it Remus can do whatever Roman can do if he damn well pleases. With this new conviction, he boldly strutted over to the handsome nerd, only for Emile to give him a death glare that immediately makes him turn around.
But he's far from giving up. They all are.
Anyway thats it for this au, for now (;

cheater [three] | kara danvers
summary: Kara catches on to the way you're distancing yourself from her and tries to get to the bottom of it.
warning/s: none (I think?).
author's note: This is the final part to the mini imagine so I hope you like it! I'll be posting a lena one tomorrow :)
part one | part two | masterlist | wattpad
A few weeks had passed since Anna had spoken to me, and in those few weeks, I had become more aware of how I was treating those I cared about. Specifically, Kara.
I still hung out with her and spoke to her, obviously, but I was cautious as to how much of myself I was giving out. I didn't want to appear reliant, clingy or annoying towards her. She didn't deserve that and I didn't want to risk her leaving me because of it. We still went out for lunch and hung out at each other's flats, but it was less frequent than usual. Anytime I thought I was inputting my opinion into her life, I drew back. If we were hanging out, I cut it a little shorter. I didn't want her to feel trapped.
I thought it was going well, really well actually. I thought I was doing it right, having her as a friend without suffocating her with my apparent power to over-care. But then she confronted me about it and I knew I'd screwed up.
I was photocopying something when she approached me, cornering me in against the photocopier.
"Hey," I greeted her, smiling politely before realising she wasn't smiling back. "What's up?"
"I'm hoping you can tell me," she said, crossing her arms.
"I don't understand."
She sighed, her blue eyes staring back at me with confusion. "Did I do something wrong? Have I upset you somehow? Are you angry at me?"
I immediately shook my head, stepping forward to place a hand on her crossed arms. "Kara, no, of course not! What's made you think that?"
She breathed out through her nose, uncrossing her arms. "You've been very withdrawn recently. I feel like I may have offended you somehow."
I pursed my lips, feeling my face go warm. "You haven't... I don't understand. Things are good between us. We hang out. We talk."
"Barely," she added. "You seem off with me. Distant."
I tried to laugh it off. "Kara, I don't get it. I'm fine!"
Her blue eyes darkened as she searched my expression curiously. "No, you aren't... I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong."
I gave her a knowing, albeit, nervous look. "Kara."
She shook her head, jaw locked with certainty. I tried to walk away, but she blocked my exit by stepping in front of me. I tried to side step her, but she simply followed, cornering me in with the photocopier.
"Kara, this is stupid and you know it," I complained, no longer joking now.
"What's stupid is how you've been acting lately," she said, just as seriously. "What is going on with you?"
I upheld her stare, determined not melt under her gaze and give in. I tried again to get out of that corner, but she was too quick and way stronger than me, so she stopped me every time. I sighed, feeling my stomach twist uncomfortably.
"It's not a big deal," I said quietly, avoiding her eyes.
"What isn't?"
I chewed the inside of my cheek nervously, before realising I had no other choice but to tell her the truth. I couldn't lie to Kara – she'd see right through me.
"Anna spoke to me a few weeks ago," I said, in a nonchalant way, hoping Kara would realise it wasn't an issue. "She told me she loved me still and wanted to get back together."
Kara's expression faltered as she widened her eyes with surprise. "What?"
"It was dumb on her part," I explained, feeling a sudden urge to let Kara know I wasn't interested. "I've moved on."
Kara pursed her lips with concentration as I continued.
"I reminded her that she cheated on me and she basically told me why," I said, giving a small smile to hopefully refute the pain that was returning in my heart. "I am apparently too loving to those I care about."
"What?"
I breathed out slowly, losing my smile. "She said I was too good. Too perfect. Too caring. I was too suffocating and so I pushed her away. It's dumb because I know I shouldn't care what she says, but it stuck with me."
Kara had an unreadable expression and I began to feel guilty.
"Look, Kara, I'm really sorry," I said, meeting her eyes. "I never wanted to make you feel like you were doing something wrong. I just, I thought that if I backed off a little... you know, gave you some space. Cared a little less. That you might stay around. I didn't... I didn't want to risk pushing you away like I did with Anna. I'm... I'm really sorry..."
I waited for a response, verbally or even a hint of an expression, but she simply stared at me with frozen eyes. I genuinely thought I'd screwed up, that she was fed up of my shit and was ready to call it a day with our friendship. Instead, she said nothing and stormed off angrily.
"Kara!" I called after her, before following her down the hall.
She was quick, as she manoeuvred around everybody, eyes searching the offices for somebody, I didn't know who. I kept calling her, trying to catch up to her but bumping into several colleagues instead. What was she up to?
"You!"
I saw as she found who she was looking for – Anna – and widened my eyes, realising what would happen.
"You are the most selfish, egotistical, manipulative woman I have ever met!" she yelled, storming towards Anna and getting in her face. "How dare you make Y/N question her relationships, our friendship!"
"What the hell are you talking about, Danvers?" Anna growled, pushing Kara back.
Kara seemed furious as I finally reached them. People were beginning to take notice of the two angry women and I managed to step between them before things escalated further.
"Woaaaaah, Kara, calm down," I said, blocking her vision of Anna and instead trying to get her to look at me. "Kara."
"You didn't deserve her." Kara glared daggers to Anna just before I managed to drag her away.
Reluctantly, Kara followed as I led her to a deserted conference room – anywhere to get away from Anna and what I was sure would soon be a fist fight if I hadn't stepped in.
"Kara, what the they hell?!" I shouted after closing the door.
Kara's jaw was clenched with anger as she shook her head. "I never liked her! She's always thought she was the best! That she could have anything she wanted!"
"Kara!"
"She hurt you!" she yelled, finally meeting my eyes. "It's her fault, all of this!"
My mouth closed as I breathed out through my nose, trying to find some way to argue her point, but she was right.
"She cheated because she's a horrible person, not because you care too much," she said with certainty. "One of the best things about you, Y/N, is that you care as much as you do. You make people feel seen and you make them feel good. And that isn't a bad thing at all!"
I felt embarrassed as she spoke, mostly because when she said it, it seemed right. Like I couldn't question it at all and that everything I thought about myself was false. Kara always sounded so certain that one couldn't help but want to believe her.
"She is hurting you even when you let her go," she said, swallowing hard. "She never deserved you, Y/N. And I hate that she's made you doubt yourself."
I didn't think Kara cared this much, yet she seemed so invested and it made me feel good, to know I had someone who actually cared.
"She never deserved you," she stated, her eyes glassy. "I'm sorry for shouting and getting angry, but she never did."
"Kara..."
Seeing her this upset made me feel guilty, and also hurt. I didn't think it would have this much of an effect on her.
"You're a great person, Y/N, one of the best I know. And you deserve someone who can see that. Someone like..." She paused, locking her jaw as she glanced at the ceiling before meeting my eyes. "Someone like me."
It took me a moment to realise what she'd said, and when I made sense of it, I was taken aback.
"Someone... someone like you?"
"Yes," she said, blue eyes softening as each second passed.
I felt my heart beating quickly the longer she stared, and it only intensified when she stepped closer to me, enough for me to feel the warmth of her skin.
Her eyes darted to my lips very obviously and I found myself drawn to hers, wanting to feel them against mine. She raised her hand, pressing it to my cheek, causing me to look her in the eyes again.
"How long?" I got out, feeling stupid for not realising sooner.
She licked her lips. "A long time."
I didn't know what to say, how to respond to that. It made sense though, now that I thought about it. Especially with how protective she'd been over me when it came to Anna. I thought it was her being a good friend, but it was a lot more than that.
Her other hand rested on my waist, sending shivers up my spine, before she moved closer and pressed her lips against mine. I closed my eyes and let her, resting a hand on her chest and returning the kiss.
I didn't realise how much I'd wanted to kiss her until now when it was actually happening. She was gentle yet passionate and I knew that she'd been bottling this up for awhile now, since she was kissing me like she was afraid it would be the first and last.
We pulled away soon enough, to my dismay, and I found myself staring into her pools of blue, attempting to puzzle together the confusion that was my brain.
"I think...," she spoke gently, her breath tickling my lips because of how close we still were. "I think that you deserve better than her. That you deserve me. And I'm here. If you want me."
I was still catching my breath as she looked between my eyes, calm and collected. I didn't know what to say – everything was happening quickly, too quick for me to keep up.
"And if you don't, which it seems you don't," she continued, stepping back and smiling awkwardly, "I can be your friend. Though that might be a little strange now."
I watched as she backed up awkwardly, nearing the door.
"Kara, that's not it," I spoke, earning her attention. "I don't– I don't know what to say. This happened quite fast and... I'm still trying to acknowledge the fact that you, well, you like me."
"I didn't mean to confuse you," she said, pressing her lips together as she nodded. She opened the door and glanced at me. "I'll go. Sorry if this messed things up. I just couldn't hold it in any longer and you deserved to know the truth."
I watched as she smiled once more before leaving. I tried to think of something to say to stop her, but I was still tongue-tied. And then she was gone.
***
I knocked on Kara's door and waited impatiently for her to answer. I could barely keep still, all of my thoughts wanting to burst out of my head. I had so much to say to her and I was never good with my words, but I didn't have time to write this down – I had to let her know how I felt.
She finally answered the door and seemed confused, but she smiled nonetheless.
"Hey, Y/N..."
"I should have come sooner, but my mind has only just decided to co-operate with my heart, so I'm here now," I explained, knowing it didn't quite make sense when I said it aloud.
She nodded slowly, still staring at me with furrowed eyebrows. She stood to the side, signalling for me to come in and I did, glad to not be stood in the same spot.
When she closed the door, I spun around and breathed out.
"You want a drink?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, no, I just need to tell you this," I said, cutting straight to the point. "You've helped me through a lot, and it probably would have taken a lot longer for me to be okay after everything that happened with Anna if it wasn't for you."
Kara nodded, looking like she wanted to speak, but thankfully, she let me continue.
"I care about you a lot, Kara. I do. I don't want to lose you, not now that I know what it's like to have you in my life. I thought that the way I cared about you was platonic. But then you told me everything you did and you kissed me and it was... it was perfect." I breathed out slowly. "I don't want to lose that."
"Why do you keep saying that?" Kara finally spoke up, shaking her head. "Why do you think I'm going to leave?"
I chewed on my lower lip as I glanced at my shoes. "As I said yesterday, I tend to care too much and evidently, that makes people want to leave. Or in my case, cheat."
"And as I said yesterday, that's completely false," she said, grabbing my hand and squeezing it gently. "I would never do that to you."
"I'm not saying you will," I said, shaking my head. "I just, I don't want you to think that... god this doesn't make sense..." I groaned to myself. "I know what I want to say, but it makes no sense."
"Tell me what you're scared of," she said sternly, eyes glued to mine with a look of determination. "Tell me exactly what you're thinking, Y/N."
I avoided her eyes as I tensed my jaw nervously. "You're not like her... I know you're not." I rolled my eyes at how silly I sounded. "But I overthink. And I can't help but wonder if it'll happen again. We might get together and it might be great, but then I'll do something wrong and you'll get tired. And I don't think... I don't think I could take that. Especially if it meant losing you."
"Y/N, are you going to look at me?"
I reluctantly raised my head to meet her eyes.
"Do you remember when we first met?" she asked, her blue eyes sparkling beautifully.
I wondered what relevance that had, but I nodded. "Yeah... you showed me around when I first got the reporter job. You were Miss Grant's assistant back then."
She smiled reminiscently. "Exactly. And do you remember when we first properly hung out?"
I nodded. "You asked if I wanted to get coffee together because we had the same break."
"Yep. And what about when we exchanged numbers?"
"Kara, I don't understand wha–"
"Just answer," she said, giving me a knowing look. "I have a point."
"Okay... you asked me to add your number when you said you couldn't find your phone and I rang it off mine. It was under your desk."
"And do you really think I misplaced my phone under my desk?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow.
I pulled a face. "Well... now that you say it aloud, it sounds kinda dumb."
"Uh-huh. Now, what about the first time we hung out outside of work?" she asked, smiling at me adorably now.
I was growing agitated, mostly confused at what her point was. Nonetheless, I answered. "We were tracking down some contacts for an article and finished pretty late. You asked me if I wanted Potstickers at a place you know."
"Okay, I know you wanna slap me for all these questions, so I'll cut to the point," she said with an amused smile. "One more question though. Do you know what all of those instances have in common?"
I sighed. "No idea, Kara."
She began to play with my fingers between her hands as she chuckled. "It was me who asked you everything. I initiated our friendship always. I always wanted to hang out. One may argue that I am the clingy one in our friendship."
She was smiling knowingly, but I was still confused.
"What?"
She laughed at my expression. "Your fear? Of being the overly-caring one? Of pushing me away because you're too involved? It's been proven wrong by the likes of me. It's impossible for me to leave because I'm the one who doesn't leave you alone. I'm the one who wants to be around you."
I realised what she was saying and didn't know how to respond. Once again, Kara Danvers had a way of sounding right and making me feel wrong. I had no choice but to believe her words.
"That time I asked you to go out with me for coffee? That was when I began to like you," she admitted. "And the time I asked you to get Potstickers, that was when I fell in love with you. Which, by the way, is another thing you should consider. I'm in love with you, Y/N. And I know you probably don't feel the same, but you should know. Because that means I loved you first, which means, once again, I'm being super clingy."
I felt my lips lifting into a suppressed smile as she watched me confidently, a comforting smile on her lips.
"I'm here, if you want me," she said seriously, though her eyes were gentle as they stared through mine. "I promise you won't lose me."
I breathed out, feeling my eyes go blurry a little. Her revelation had made me a lot more emotional than I thought, but it was good. My heart was swelling with adoration, the first in a long, long time.
"Well, firstly, fuck you for making me cry," I said, letting go of her hand to wipe the corners of my eyes. She laughed as I met her eyes again. "Secondly, you're the only person I've ever met to say things as sweet as those. Thank you."
"I meant every word," she promised.
I cracked a small smile. "Thirdly... you really fancied the shit out of me back when we first met, didn't you?"
She rolled her eyes playfully, but her cheeks were turning pink; it was my turn to laugh.
"What do you say to giving us a shot?" she said, staring at me, a hint of hope in her expression.
I nodded. "I want to make this work. I actually fancy the shit out of you, too, Kara."
Her smile widened into a grin, making her eyes squint up adorably.
"I think it's my turn to initiate something," I joked, before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her lips.
I knew that I would always worry about my relationships, second-guess genuine actions and hesitate over little things – it was inevitable after what Anna did to me – but one thing I was certain of was Kara. It would work out, despite my fears. She reassured me always.
I trusted her.

Ep. 1: "There's 100% going to be a Canada alliance." - Amy
Amy
Initial reaction of cast reveal: I’m toast But for real this can go a couple of ways for me, none of which have me seeing myself make merge lol. I’m either going to be a very early boot here or be nice and active enough to solidify a place for a while. Lots of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Hopefully the people familiar with me won’t want to immediately vote me out. I have already mentioned to Derrick that I played with DeNara before, so hopefully we can bond over that and it not be used against me. I have explicitly asked Jared to not exclusively lie to me this go haha but we both said we were more playing for the other half of our duos and just agreed to do it. I was excited to see Blue on my tribe and I also know Leanne, and have already had a good chat with Klied - but his name does have “lie” in it 👀. Honestly I want to do a quick portion of divide and conquer, I planned on chilling in a pool tomorrow and going to drag bingo with Ava. But no one has solidly chosen anything so they are really about to force me to be tribe leader and sort this out. Things I look forward to: vibes, chatting with cool people, meeting people, twists, and drama Things I will not be doing: sitting on hours and hours of video calls. Not my style. But I know several people in this game love it. Let the good times roll y’all
Kenneth
HERE WE GO AGAIN! i'm fresh off of ingary, but jay has magic powers and pulled me in to another season of a potential clown fiesta <3 but seriously, this already seems a lot more enticing and spicy because of the theme in itself and how the challenges and idol hunt are structured so i am very excited to play :) i learned a lot about my last game and i will improve on it (hopefully) by taking more risks and plays that WILL be appreciated by the jury, and not be overly attached to people, which would result to tunnel vision. the first challenges are already pretty great, and i cannot wait to play this game. TO WIN! hehe >:)destiny i’m super confused about a lot of stuff tbh but everyone on my tribe is so nice and welcoming and i’m sure i’ll get the hang of it all soon :) i’m excited to be playing and just hoping i don’t screw things up for my tribe :/
AmyThis tribe is exhausting. Challenges where I need to send a photo back quickly really hate me. My phone took like a minute to actually send the photo, but Waldo went well. Except I started in the bottom right looking with vertical transects and Waldo was hiding in the bottom left 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Woulda been 30 seconds had I started over there. But I’m already expecting tribal so I’m just hoping I wasn’t the worst portion of our challenges haha!
Leanne
Not very much to share so far. Some people on this tribe are much bigger talkers than others, Jared, Derrick, Klied, and Amy. It’s been harder to get Convo from Jesse and Blue, and I’ve barely heard from Josh or Aubree. I wonder if other people have had the same experience. Haven’t dared try game talk with anyone yet. Hoping I’m not behind, but it’s only day 2 right? Maybe I’ll try to put some feelers out with Amy. Maybe I’ll tell her about some things in the idol hunt and see if she’ll give me anything in return, maybe try to get a partnership going. I’m glad she’s on my tribe, but also a little bit scared because I’ve seen exactly how good she is. Aside from that, the person I feel best about right now is Derrick. We’ve had some good chats and seem to connect well. Hope he feels the same way. And Moth. I’m especially nervous about them. When we played before we didn’t exactly hit it off, but I think we’re both… trying. I hope we can have a new start this time, a new story. And from what I know of them they are a very loyal allies so, here’s hoping. Also happy to see Sarah here, and my yinzer JG. Maybe he and my dad can bond over that? And that’s all I’ve got so far. God I hope I did enough in the challenge today. *whines* I don’t wanna go to tribal first!
Jared
Don't mind me making a confessional before the game even starts, call me a game changer. https://youtu.be/JFOxzamkcH8
Jared
Not one, but two, confessionals before the game even begins. Sorry not sorry! https://youtu.be/SETx-0LoI9E
Shawn
Well, things are going good so far! I think anyway. Although I like everyone on my team, I do have to say it's odd playing with someone whose older than my father is, Frank. Usually I like to take charge in games like this, I like to be the leader. Yet, with Frank, it's difficult because he's so much older, I feel like I'm a little kid around him. I don't wanna tell him what to do, because I don't wanna be disrespectful? I'm so excited so far though, absolutely loving the challenge and how we get to pick! Im not that bright so I'm happy I can do creative stuff.
Aubree
This is my first BvW confession! Idk about the other tribe, but the Mysa Tribe is super chill. Most of the conversations yesterday consisted of everyone saying hi and that they were busy and would be active later. Day 2 and the activity level is still the same, which is kind of a relief since I am much more of an introvert. I have been trying to be the first to reach out to people since I feel that is something I have struggled with in past ORGs I’ve played in. I’m usually the reserved/silently-strategic player, but I’m going to try and be more proactive for this game. Ive talked to Klied, Jared, Amy and Leanne a decent amount and have enjoyed our conversations. I know of Amy due to the games she has played with Sarah, so I am hoping that works in my favor. Amy did say that Sarah voted her out in the first game they played in, so that could work one of two ways for my game… like if it came down to a vote between me or Sarah later on?? but maybe it is too soon to think that far ahead? Lol Even though I’m an Art Teacher I chose to steer away from the Creative part to our first challenge. Tbh I’m so burnt out irl when it comes to being creative due to my job, so I’m okay with taking a step back from the creative challenges for now. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Scavenger Hunt, even though it was a bit harder than expected. I was so stoked to have a Starry Night print, but since it wasn’t real it didn’t count… Like who the heck has a REAL VAN GOGH?? (Or quick access to one) LOL As much as I would LOVEEE to have an original painting, that teacher salary-bracket doesn’t allow for that!! Lol I haven’t had anyone directly ask to me to be in an alliance with them… so that is - interesting? I’m used to the last two games I played where it felt like everything was very paced. Now, It’s either A) everyone is just chillin’ and not wanting to rush things or B) bonds HAVE already started to form but I’m not a part of them? I guess things will spend up more after the first challenge is over and we see where our strengths and weaknesses are in the tribe. Until then! - Aubree
Moth
Hi!! I’m back again and playing with someone I know. I actually happen to be on call with Destiny as I type this but like- were vibing And also once again I’m starting off on the wrong foot, not at home when the game starts.
Moth
I don’t trust Jared Straight up And I feel like that’s fair- Twice I’ve been voted out for my connections to Kyoshi island and it’s really fucking frustrating- Jared apologized and sounded sincere but idk I trust people too easily.. Brayden, Denara, and Leanne are also all in this game All people I’ve played with Leanne I don’t trust right off the bat. I tried that before but like- that didn’t work for me. I just want to at least make it to the merge
Frank
Having fun, learning as I get going. Truly impressed by the comraderi among people whom I've never met. Old dogs, new tricks, this is cool.
Klied
The game is going pretty well so far! Everyone has been really nice and supportive of one another. I hope this tribe dynamic continues for the next rounds of the game! :>
Moth
I fucked it up I genuinely feel really bad because everyone’s so confident in me- And I’m totally going to be a target now
Moth
Ohhhhh thank god Thank god because I was absolutely going to be on the chopping block if we lost I don’t want to be first out That being said
I don’t want Destiny to be first out either
Shawn
I'm not very happy tonight with how things went. I truly believe the other team deserved the win, the video was creative and a lot of effort was put into it! I think it was a great thing. But I disappointed that we lost so many of the challenges. I'm also getting annoyed that people are being present on the chat. I feel like it's me and another tribe member that is putting in all the work. Not impressed, but whatever. I just really hope I don't get voted off tomorrow.
Kenneth
welp i bombed the where's waldo challenge and my team lost by a hair in the riddles challenge because of an advantage so rip. i really hope i don't get voted off first because i severely underperformed in the challenge akjdnsajkndkjsnd i'd be really disappointed in myself :/
Amy
Shocked. Absolutely shocked we aren't headed to tribal lol. And here I thought my 4 minutes on Waldo was too slow but it was enough. Honestly we are lucky Blue's quit disadvantage was only what it was bc they quit after 30 minutes apparently. All these advantages at play! And I'm sitting here with a disadvantage. I think I'm clearly doing the idol hunt wrong 😆 all I have is a disadvantage from poison feast food and a chipmunk named Wadsworth in my pocket. Based on how little anyone is speaking I was certain we'd be going to tribal hands down no question. So I am very, very happy we avoided it in the end. I think it would have been between Jessie and Josh though bc they aren't active. I would have voted Jessie bc Josh did the video even after saying he didn't actually want to do the creative part so that's major props to him in my book! I am very curious as to who the other tribe is going to vote off in the end. I hope it's no one I want to make it far. Oh basically I know I'm probably not making merge so I'm trying to align things to get certain people farther and get other people out. I'm rooting for a newbie to take it. Anyway woo day off and I won't be first boot. Fingers crossed it's not Ava. I wouldn't be surprised if she was targeted for her association with me. Love this game! Love this cast! Love the idol hunt! The reward challenge was the most fun bc Ava and I were incredibly intoxicated after Drag Bingo and we did better each time! The last one we went "office" and "turnip" and literally bust out laughing and both said "Nate". I would like to personally apologize to Ellie for having to witness that nonsense. Thank you to everyone! Oh one last thing. I did not want to work with jared at all but it looks like I am going to be forced to do so. I think I have to put trust in Jared and in Leanne who has voted me out of two games prior 😆 but that's me always just bonding most with the people who are active and want to talk to me.
Amy
There's 100% going to be a Canada alliance.
Aubree
Who won the first challenge?? MYSA DID! Woot woot! Even though Jared, Jessie and I didn’t win the Scavenger Hunt portion after the advantages were added in - we did win as far as how many total objects were found, so I’m pretty proud about that! To top it off Sarah and I won the Reward Challenge!!!! We both get 3 stat points to add to our Idol Hunt… which I have yet to do… I should probably do that tomorrow O_o
Avat
hings are going well i think!!! i've had a lot of fun and i sorta vibe with everyone so far on the tribe. i'm really hyped and fingers crossed we do well. i've been sorta inactive with my challenge bc of work but i'm doing what i can for now. more to come soon
DeNara
Well this is my first confessional of the game and oh my is this going to be an interesting game. Initial impressions of my tribe...... Sarah +Jodi- frenemies because they are so good at survivor Frank- I really like him. He seems like a cool dude Kenneth- Seems cool, I may want to work with him, but he seems to be playing harder than he should so early Brayden- Didn't get the best first impression, but that could change Shawn- Super quiet, then they started chatting so that helped Ava, J.G., Destiny- Really inactive so I don't really know- potential first vote I want to work with Sarah, Frank and maybe Kenneth. Jodi would be good to work with although who knows what she is thinking. Everyone else I will stay open to working with, but really don't care too much as of yet.
DeNara
The first challenge was weird because everyone just took their roles and stopped talking. I HATE QUIET. Period. The creative challenge on my tribe wasn't super creative imo, but they tried. I didn't help in the scavenger hunt as much as I wanted too so that sucks, but at least we won that part so that looks good. I am so excited for this idol hunt! It is amazing! Props to the hosts! WE LOST, DAMMIT. At least Derrick won't be the first boot. I hope I am not either or HE WILL NOT STOP BUGGING ME ABOUT IT AND I WILL DIE.
DeNara
Well it is chaos now. Shawn has made an alliance with Sarah, Kenneth, and myself. I like the safety of that. Jodi, Sarah and myself also made a Subrosa alliance (we all knew that would happen) and I feel like this will keep me safe for a while at least. Both Sarah and Jodi want to work with Brayden and potentially Kenneth so we may make an alliance of 5 with them- but that also means Sarah and I would have to talk to Kenneth about not telling Jodi about the other alliance and that could be very risky early on.... hmmm idk about that. Also, Frank is my dude. I hope he stays. I think I am going to lean towards J.G. or Destiny.
Sarah
https://youtu.be/RzlLHyHZguQ
Kenneth
I am now in 2 alliances: one with denara, sarah, and shawn, and another one with ava and brayden! i feel good about both alliances, with the first one feeling solid and loyal (for now), and the second one for the long term! i feel very solid about sarah and denara, i feel like i can last long with them as my good allies. jodi's a tricky one, because i know she's a damn good player, but it's better to keep her on my side for now until an opportune time to make a move (and i actually really like talking to her!).
Jared
me: i'm gonna try to make this concise also me: 8 minutes on the very first episode where i'm not even going to tribal oh boy
Brayden
https://youtu.be/reALs2hizjk hey everyone I'm here
DeNara
So now I am in a bunch of alliances. I guided Kenneth to make an alliance chat with Sarah and me to tell us to keep our alliances with 1. Shawn and 2. Brayden and Jodi a secret. Insert evil laugh here lol. So all together right now I should have Sarah, Jodi, Kenneth, Brayden, Shawn and Frank backing me, so I shouldn't be first boot. It sounds like we are going for Destiny because they aren't very active, which was the name Kenneth threw out first so he is getting what he wants without upsetting me.
Ava
so so so bummed about going to tribal i thought we had it in the bag especially with our advantages but alas... i formed an alliance with brayden and kenneth which i'm super obsessed with i really like both of them - hopefully this means safety for tomorrow. i hate working two jobs and the week after next ill be working just one which is just so fucking sweet fingers crossed i can make it that long in this game. anyway that's all for now
Jodi
I'm so happy to be back. This time, I promise to play a chill Jodi game as I said in my intro, and I want to relax and enjoy this twist of a season. Jared and I are thrilled to play our second season together in the actual format of BvW, and we will be playing our own games. So far, I'm glad to have Denara, Sarah, Brayden on my tribe, as we all know each other but never played before (except Brayden). I want to keep an open mind and play fluidly. Kenneth told Brayden within 10 mins of the game starting that he was scared of me, but I hope I can gain the trust of people and not play as flashy as people remember me for. Looking forward to the connections I make!
Jodi
I promised y'all a chill Jodi game and here i am, delivering it. I think. DeNara and Sarah immediately made the "The Best of SubRosa" chat because obviously that was bound to happen, but additionally, the 3 of us are in an alliance with Brayden and Kenneth called "the clock" (because of our time zones ahahahaha). This game's dynamic is so different because even though we hate going to tribal, it also means that our loved ones are safe from tribal, which sometimes, could be better. I hope Jared is doing good on the other side. Obviously I trust Sarah and DeNara but I also know Sarah will cut my throat when it needs to happen, even if she gonna be crying while doing it, so I'll just...not be blinded by that. I trust Brayden 100%, Kenneth calling me scary is not great but I guess he rather be with me than against me, for now. Y'all Ingary kids what did you say about me??? LMAOO ♥️ I did ask him why he didn't cause ruckus at 5 and whip out the superidol and he said "tunnel vision". Hey that's two of us I guess!
Sarah
https://youtu.be/RzlLHyHZguQJessie So I’m still working on making like connections and stuff but we won the first challenge so no tribal which is a very good thing . ❤️ I’m enjoying this interactive scavenger hunt and I’m totally not trying to pull a Danni from Midsommar lol.
Brayden
hey guys im in a 5 person alliance rn with jodi sarah denara and kenneth and i feel pretty good and excited bc i think ill win this whole game but sadly destiny is prob leaving tonight <\3
Derrick
First challenge done. We rocked it! I don't really have any sort of alliance at this point but I seem to be getting along with everyone. Josh didn't seem to put too much effort into our creative set up but it still worked out OK. It was unfortunate I was on my trip at the time as I could have done so much more with. I think as long as we support eachother we can rock every challenge that comes our way!joshIM SOO HAPPY WE WON! our tribe seems to be like friendly but i havent made any alliances i think so idk if im in a good spot if we lose a challenge but we didnt this time so🙃ShawnEveryone in the tribe is messaging about Destiny, and that is who everyone is thinking of voting off. I'm still thinking of voting Frank off, and I think that's who I'm going for. He's not good at technology, and this whole game is about technology! We lost the creative challenge because all we could do with him was write! Still, everyone thinks because Destiny isn't very active she should be the one to go. I'm not sure what I want to do. JGOh hey! Here we are round one. I feel so out of it playing this game. For the first time in a while, I barely know any of the other players. Which is refreshing and tough. I also feel like my social game is kind of lacking but that is kind of my brand for round 1. I have had some great one on one conversations with DeNara, Jodi, and Sarah. I've talked to Brayden and Kenneth as well a little bit less than the first three. Shawn and Ava, barely. Frank and Destiny not at all. The vote should be Destiny since we sadly lost. Which works for me. I feel the closest with DeNara and Sarah. Really hoping I can start to get my footing. If we were to lose again, Frank would probably go but I don't wanna put myself in the line of fire again. Well here's hoping things improve. Hopefully, I'm not blindsided. Here we go.blueMy tribe seems pretty cool so far, everyone is nice and seems pretty active so thats nice. Shawns going to tribal so I hope theyre gonna be safe :(((DeNara As far as I know, the vote is going to be Destiny. I feel bad for them for not getting the chance to play, and I feel really bad for Moth, they always have the worst luck in ORGs. That being said I sure hope nothing crazy happens tonight or I will cry 100% Tribal, here I come...AubreeThere is hardly any game talk (at least from where I’m standing), so I may start trying to get a feel of where people are at by asking some game-related questions in the tribe chat. Don’t get me wrong, I love the personal chit-chats… BUT I’m also feeling a bit empty-handed as far as knowing everyone’s game motives. Maybe I’m being too bold… idk. I’m not normally the one to standout in ORGs, so hopefully my tribe doesn’t take this as me prying… even though I guess I kinda am?? 😬 “Oof look at me being all dangerous and shit!” 😤🤘🏼😂blueSO here are more detailed thoughts on my tribe. Amy of course is a queen and a legend and we've played together before and have a good rapport. Leanne is so kind and so funny, and I would be super down for working with her. Jared is SO nice I get really good vibes and really enjoy talking to him. Aubree is also very nice and seems genuinely interested in my irrelevant stories 10/10 good vibes. Moth is dope as expected and turns out we have a lot of the same interests ie. witcher and the mcelroys very fun. The rest are yet to be determined.AmyI would like to start out by saying that Brayden's video during their tribal almost made me seasick thanks buddy. So today was a DAY. It was a day off and like I had a weird day at work lol 😆 and then I remembered there was the task of talking to people who h i slacked on today whoops sorry. But for half these people idk if they even noticed bc my tribe is so quiet. Did I already say I tried asking Jessie what their favorite berry was? Like that's how exhausting conversation has been most all around. I think I'm talking to Leanne, Derrick, and Jared the most. I am begging for bygones to be bygones. But anyway I was trying to do a little of the hunt throughout the day bc after seeing
all those advantages last go I was SHOCKED. Then at the end of work I made it to thevpart where I was talking to the grumpy sad flower crown man and after falling on my weak ass on a ladder I picked the lock with a bobbypin and charisma's him to make me a flower crown which got me to the maypole which had me do a scavenger hunt and I got an idol. Writing this all out is absolutely hilarious. But yeah I have an idolllllllllllllllllllll which I don't want to use anytime soon. But I have a feeling I'm going to struggle to make merge. Anyway I got this idol like directly after the other tribe finishing tribal and I love a funny timing like that. I'm glad Ava survived weee! And wow they have some very vocal tribe members haha I'm sure Denara and Jodi are working together which tracks bc I've been closest to both of them individually in prior games early on. Curious if it will stick. So next was rock paper scissors for which I have a 10% disadvantage which apparently applies to the overall tribe score ☠️ . I won my game against Brayden who was at seemingly a raging Big Brother watch party. Sorry buddy. But we've been chatting like he asked how josh was and I said Josh is great and really stepped up to the plate for the creative challenge even though it wasn't what he wanted and also he loves tom holland so I instantly trust him. Then he said everyone likes ava bc she's just so cool and yes I get it I am personally intimidated by how cool Ava is and I have to be around that cool level every day honestly I don't know why she talks to me but she's a badass. Anyyywayyyy he doesn't seem keen on actually talking game and I need to figure out if I need to just tell my tribe I have a disadvantage rn or be like what the fuck the other tribe is so mean to give me a disadvantage 😭 Anyway excited to explore the hunt some more and this game is so fun. If we go to tribal I think Jessie is most at risk tbh. Okay that's all bye ❤️

“I Hate That I Love You” (E.D Fic) Part 6
//Enjoy my loves, please send me ideas for short stories or imagines!! I want to work on other stuff as well as IHTILY 💜
⚠️Warnings⚠️: kissing/lust, some harassing.
Master List
***********************************
He pushes me harder up against the wall making sure that I can't get away from him this time. He continues kissing me and listen to this, I don't stop him. I let him take complete control. I don't fight back I just let him kiss me and kiss me and kiss me. It's like electricity is flowing between us making the kiss passionate. His lips are both soft and rough against my own. It's one of the best kisses I have ever had in my entire life and just as quickly as it happened it's over. Ethan pulls back and releases my arms from where they were pinned up against the wall. We both stand there breathing heavy trying to get our breaths back from the kiss.
"What was that?" I ask him.
"I just wanted to see what it would be like." Ethan says with a smirk.
"Why?"
"Just did." He says without looking at me.
"So then tell me, why did you hurt Dylan and tell him to stay away from me?"
"You ask too many questions. Let's just never speak of this again. Nothing has changed between us and I still hate you got it?" He asks before leaving me alone. I chase after him. I don't know why but I wanted some answers. A guy just doesn't kiss a girl like that and walk away promising her that he was still going to bully her. It just makes no sense. I grab his arm and turn him around so that he will be facing me. His touch sends chills up my arm so I quickly yank it away.
"I want answers." I tell him.
"I'm not giving you answers." He states.
"You don't just kiss a girl like that and leave! Why did you do it?" I yell.
"I do."
"You're crazy you know that?"
"Yep." He smiles at me. I've had just about enough of Ethan Dolan and his stupid actions. I wish that there was some way that I could get back at him but there isn't. Anything that I do will just make him happy but it would prove that he got under my skin. He will beat me at anything. This is his game and I'm just one of his pieces in it.
"God I hate you." I mutter angrily.
"Good." We just stand there looking at each other. The anger in the air is enough to suffocate somebody. We hate each other so much. There's so much tension between us. We are complete opposites who do not get along at all yet we just kissed like there was no tomorrow. It doesn't make sense.
"See you later (Y/N).” Ethan says. The way he says it sounds like a promise rather than a statement. I watch him walk off into the night while I just stand there with anger radiating off of me. I didn't know that it was possible to hate another human being as much as I hate Ethan Dolan. I never knew that this kind of hatred existed until now. The worst thing is that I am craving the feel of his lips on mine again. This is so confusing. I hate him I shouldn't want him to kiss me. I should be disgusted by it.
I just shake the thoughts out of my head and go straight to my dorm. I was going to go back to the party but it's probably over now. Maybe I should have went back to see if Dylan is okay, but I don't. I have too much on my mind to deal with him right now. Everything that is going through my mind is Ethan, Ethan’s lips, Ethan’s eyes, Ethan’s hair, Ethan’s voice, Ethan, Ethan, Ethan. I can't seem to shake him out of my mind. That kiss will haunt me for the rest of my life.
—————————————————————
Ashlee eventually came back to our dorm. She was out with her guy. I wanted to stay up and wait on her so I could find out if Dylan was okay and mainly because I knew she would have questions for me like any normal person would. The thing is I have no idea how to answer them. I don't know why Ethan did what he did. I don't know why he kissed me. I don't know why I liked it. I'm just so confused and I honestly don't have any answers for anybody including myself.
"What the hell happened back there?" Ashlee asks as soon as she enters our room.
"Is Dylan okay?"
"Yeah but he is so mad. He said that he is going to get Ethan back for that."
"Great." I mumble. Just another thing that Ethan will blame me for and want to make me pay for it.
"Care to explain what happened?" Ashlee asks me again.
"I don't know."
"Why did he tell Dylan to stay away from you? Is something going on between the two of you?"
"No! I don't know why he did it. I hate him and he hates me."
"Someone who hates you wouldn't have done that (Y/N)." Ashlee says.
"I know but he does. I don't know why he did that and after that he kissed me. I just don't know he is so confusing." I mumble.
"HE KISSED YOU." Ashlee yells. Damn it..
"Uh yeah. After he kicked Dylan and grabbed my arm he took me away from the party to some building. I tried to get away from him and I started yelling at him. He just slammed me up against a wall told me to shut up and kissed me."
"Oh my god."
"Yeah but nothing has changed between us because after that he was his old self again so it doesn't matter." I say sounding a bit sad.
"(Y/N), you like him?"
"No. I hate him."
"Okay..” Ashlee says sounding like she knows something that I don't. Whatever. All I know is that I hate him, he hates me, that's just how it is and will be.
—————————————————————
I never did get sleep that night. I was up all night thinking about Ethan and why he had kissed me. I just don't get how a guy can kiss a girl like that and then act like it didn't happen. Why do boys have to be so complicated?
I needed to get out of my dorm so I can clear my head. I don't bother waking Ashlee up. I just need to be alone so I can think. Maybe I can find Dylan and make sure that he is okay and explain everything to him. It's Saturday so I have all day to find him. I hopefully won't see Ethan, but then his promise comes back into my head so I have a feeling that he will find me or I will find him before this day is over.
I quietly leave the dorm and go outside. The fresh air feels nice and I already feel a little bit better. Now where would Dylan be? I have no clue where to even look. I just decided to walk around until maybe I see him somewhere. I really wish I was with my parents. I know I keep saying that but it would be so much better if I were with them. I haven't talked to them in a few days because they are somewhere with no cell phone signal. I bet they are having so much fun while I'm here getting harassed by an idiotic boy who just so happened to kiss me.
I continue walking but I still don't see Dylan anywhere. Maybe he is in his dorm. Ashlee may know here he is so when I go back to the dorm I will ask her. I'm surprised that Ethan hasn't found me yet. He seems to always find me when I don't want him to. Which is basically all of the time. Just as I'm rounding the corner on the sidewalk I hear yelling. I recognize one of the voices almost immediately. Ethan.
“What was that at the party Dolan?" I see Dylan asking Ethan.
"Oh you know me just taking full advantage of you because you are weak piece of shit and can't fight back." Ethan says smugly back to him.
God he is a douche.
“We're you jealous because I was with (Y/N)?"
"No."
"Why else would you even do that?"
"I was bored." Ethan says. Liar.
“Doesn't mean you can pick on people for no reason." Dylan says. He better watch what he says. Ethan really hates it when someone talks back to him.
"I can do whatever I want." Ethan says angrily. This is not going to go well.
"Not to me you can't." Dylan says and lunges forward. He tries to hit Ethan in the face, Ethan just dodges him and throws him onto the ground. Ethan then kicks him in the ribs like he did at the party but this time Dylan gets up and tries to punch Ethan again. Ethan once again dodges and hits Dylan so hard that his nose starts bleeding. They can't going after each other and from the looks of it aren't going to stop.
Nobody else is around so nobody can stop them. I have to do something I can't let them fight like this especially because it's over me. I'm the reason that Ethan did that to Dylan at the party. I have to stop them. I don't know how though.
"Ethan stop!" I yell making the two boys stop for a second. Dylan has blood dripping down his face while Ethan hardly has any marks in him.
"Get out of here (Y/N)." Ethan growls.
"No, not until you stop fighting with him. It's stupid." I tell him.
"He came at me first so I'm just giving him what he deserves." Ethan states as if it's obvious.
"So? You don't have to fight him just let him go." I tell him. Ethan just looks at me. It's like he is having a mental battle with himself before he finally let's Dylan go. Ethan walks passed me angrily and I run up to Dylan.
"Are you ok?" I ask.
"Just leave me alone. You two apparently have something going on and I don't want to be a part of it. Bye." Dylan says and walks away from me. There's goes the only possible chance I ever had with Dylan all because of Ethan. He ruins everything and I am so sick of it. My hands are trembling with so much anger towards him. I need to get this anger out and I know exactly who to take it out on. I take off in the direction that Ethan went towards. Let's see how he likes it when someone takes their anger out on him.
I go after him and eventually see him a little ways ahead of me. He looks angry. He has his hands balled up in fists and he is pacing back and forth through the grass. Perfect. I walk up to him and push him as hard as I can.
“You ruin everything did you know that?" I ask him angrily.
"I do now." He says. I start to push him again but he stops me by grabbing my arms.
"Don't." He growls out between gritted teeth. Luckily for me I had on my boots so I kick him as hard as I can, making him collapse to the ground with a groan.
"That's what you get. You have ruined my life here. Dylan doesn't want anything to do with me because he thinks you and me have something going on. You torture me every day at school. I am sick of it." I practically yell at him.
"You don't need Dylan." Ethan groans out while standing back up.
"Maybe I do but I won't know now."
"You don't. He isn't even the right guy for you."
"And you would know this how?" I ask him.
"I just do." He says.
"No you don't. You don't know me and you don't know the kind of guys I like."
"I think I do." Ethan says taking a step towards me. I take a step back from him. He smirks at me. "You are so scared of me aren't you? You would do anything that I asked you to wouldn't you?" He asks.
"No. I'm not scared of you."
"Then why do you always tense up whenever I am around. Why do you always back away from me when I walk towards you?" I was in control of this situation a few minutes ago. How did he even take control of it?
"I don't maybe you just are seeing things."
"No I believe I'm right. Just admit (Y/N), you are scared of me." I refuse to admit anything to him. "I'm right." He says happily.
"No you're not. I'm not scared of you and you will leave me alone form here on out." I say boldly.
"I'm afraid you're wrong. I will never leave you alone. You will hate me so much by the end of this year and I can promise you that." He says. I don't know what to say to him. I'm speechless. Once again he wins. There's no way I can beat him. Especially when it's his game that we're playing. I just can't win. Ethan smiles at me and leaves. Oh how I wish I could slap that stupid smug smile off of his perfect little face.
“You know Ethan. You sure did hate me when you were shoving your tongue down my mouth." I say loud enough for him to hear. This did it. He stops dead in his tracks and slowly turns around to look at me. I just look back at him with the same hatred he is looking at me with. Maybe I can win this little game of his. I just have to play it a little bit differently than he does.
"I was drunk when I did that. It meant nothing to me." He says.
"Oh really because I recall you not drinking anything at that party because the second you came inside and saw Dylan and I dancing you got jealous and hurt him to take me away. Now am I right or am I right?" I ask smugly. Ethan does nothing except comes at me once again making me fall onto the ground. He pins my shoulders to the ground and is breathing hard. His eyes look like they are full of lust. For a split second he leans down as if he is going to kiss me but he stops himself. I stare wide-eyed up at him. I have never seen him look like this before.
"You are wrong. I hate you (Y/N). I hate you so much. More than anything on this planet." He growls into my ear.
"Sure seems like every chance you get, you are around me, touching me, talking to me. That's not what you're supposed to do when you hate somebody."
He just shakes his head and stands up letting go of me. "You really think I like you? You weren't even a good kisser. I'm glad that you turned me down at that party. I will never like you. You aren't even my type." He says and leaves me lying on the ground shocked.
I would be lying if I said that what he just said didn't hurt me. It hurt me worse than it would have hurt if he would have hit me. I wish he liked me. I wish I was his type. I wish that he would just kiss me again. I need him to like me. I crave it more than anything and I hate that fact so much. When I do lean back up I notice that my phone has fallen out of my pocket. I search everywhere for it but I see no sign of it anywhere. Hopefully I just dropped it when I was following Ethan. I get up and start walking back to my dorm. Sure enough there it is lying on the ground. I sigh a relief and pick it up but I notice that I have a new text message.
From Unknown:
I may have lied a little just then. You are a great kisser.
I stared at the text wide-eyed. I know that it's Ethan. Who else would it be anyway? Ethan Dolan just said that I am a great kisser. That should not make me happy in the slightest but it does. Why? I would also love to know how he even got my number. My phone was in my pocket the whole time so how did he get it to get my number? This Dolan kid is the most confusing human being on this planet.
I don't even bother replying to him. I don't want to become little texting buddies with the idiot. I put my phone back it my pocket and walk back to my dorm. This day has not been good. The only good thing to come from this day is that I know how to drive Ethan crazy and make him angry just like he does to me. I can now fight back and maybe even beat him at his own game.

Judge Dredd (1995)
I must confess that I have never read a single Judge Dredd comic book. I did own one issue of Batman vs Judge Dredd when I was a little kid, but I mostly just flipped through the panels and enjoyed the edgy art work. I can't speak to how faithful and adaptation that Judge Dredd is, but I think that may just be the best way to review a film. I may not have said this before on this blog, but I do not believe that being a faithful adaptation is the same thing as being a good movie, nor vice versa. I love the later adaptation, but this is a fascist super cop of a completely different breed. Let us see if Sylvester Stallone's crack at a 90s Super Hero flick will make a suitable sacrifice at the altar of the cult film God's.
The Message
1995's Judge Dredd is a Science Fiction Comic Book Adaptation starring Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider and it took me 3 attempt to finally get past the first few scenes before I could actually not feel like I was wasting my life watching it. The first thing a viewer will notice about this film is exactly how expensive everything looks. Oh God, how glorious and how massive these set pieces, costumes, and effects must have been, and I can't lie. I LOVED it. Unfortunately all that good will is lost when the plot tries to kick in. For all the force and action a title like Judge Dredd promises, it's story kicks in with a whimper and dialogue and lore that feels as if it was written by an angry 14 year old in his free time after he got detention for using a racial slur.
The film revolves around Judge Dredd, a super cop with a black and white perspective on the law so unrelenting that he has become a legend. He is seen in the early parts of the film teaching at a Judge Academy, single handedly ending anarchic riots, enforcing traffic citations. It makes you wonder exactly what the Judges council think they are doing, like they can't seem to figure out what to do with this guy.
It is revealed that Judge Dredd was a mutant experiment created by the fascist world leaders but the program only produced violent psychopaths (of which Dredd is one). The other Janus project reject is Rico, who builds awesome puppet robots who look like they belong in Return to Oz, and makes oopy goopy Judge Dredd brother babies. He also frames Judge Dredd for murder.
Once framed Judge Dredd's years of service buy him good graces with the totalitarian regime he works for and he is simply banished to the wastelands where he runs into Rob Schneider, and the movie just gets worse from there. The only saving grace here is more very expensive set pieces and crazy cyborg practical effect cannibal rednecks. It's so sad that this movie isn't more awesome. Judge Dredd does kick some ass though and his Daddy Boss shows up just to be immediately murdered.
Rob Schneider and Judge Dredd break back into Mega City One to defeat Rico, recruit Dredds coworker Hershey, and save the fascist dystopia they all live in from any significant social change. Hooray!!!!
The Benediction
Best Feature: Looks like 90 Million Bucks
The Movie is great to look at. The only gripe I have with anything in the costumes, effects, or set pieces is that the judges helmets in particular look like cheap plastic, but in the era of the Tim Burton Batman movies, this is actually not a huge kicker. It's honestly amazing that the movie was given this much to work with, a 90 Million dollar budget in 95 for a Superhero flick. If only it were enough to save the film. It honestly hurts it a little. We are supposed to believe that the world is lawless and dismal but the technology is so sleek and beautiful and the sets are emaculate when they aren't occasionally shooting out sparks. Honestly, it seems like a utopia with occasional riots. Nothing seems lived in but everything seems new.
Best Effect: ABC, That's How Easy Love Can Be
Ricos Robot, the ABC Warrior, was just eye candy, and it wasn't without competition. I also really loved the Goopy Janus Judges and the Egg Timer Cannibal Cyborg. If this movie leaned more into it's insanity it would probably have a better reputation. It's a shame that most people will skip this film on reputation alone. The plot is mind numbing, inconsistent, and dumb, but the effects like the ABC Warrior I could watch by themselves for hours. It's a cartoon, but damn if it's not a great looking cartoon.
Best Character: Officer Her-She (cuz she's a girl duh!)
In a movie that doesn't realize it's trying to get us to sympathize for a bunch of fascist totalitarians, or is trying hard to get us to ignore that fact, a villain like Rico is actually hard to hate. He has a line that says "you gave up your life to embrace the law, I gave up the law to embrace life". It really seems like I'm Team Rico here. But he didn't want freedom, he just wanted to be a different kind of monster. For that reason, I think Hershey is really the stand out character here. She's the only competent Judge, she makes reasonable decisions, and even though she seems to be Stallone's love interest, this movie does very little to diminish her to that role, or to exploit the actress. For a movie like this that is saying a lot. The only time this film doesn't suck is when Hershey is on screen or a cool practical effect is happening.
Best Kill: Tis But A Flesh Wound
I wish someone would have killed Rob Schneider, but unfortunately that didn't happen. There is a pretty cool kill where the ABC Warrior picks apart a corrupt Judge like a troubled kid does to a random bug. I guess since that had some blood and stuff we'll call it even.
Best Set Piece: Jailhouse Rocks
There are many vast and impressive sets throughout this film, but the one that really stuck out to me was Rico's cell. The wall mounted turrets getting featured instead of just being static objects stuck to the wall was one of those extra little steps that makes all the difference.
Worst Character: Rob Schneider is a Stapler? a Carrot? Annoying.
I didn't even learn Rob Schneider's characters name. But he's obnoxious. I learned that while filming Demolition Man, Stallone met Schneider and insisted he be in this film. It wouldn't have been all that bad had he done his piece and been left behind, but he clings to Dredd for most of the film. It's especially unbearable because several more likeable characters come back onto the scene to help Dredd but they are either killed or written away so that we can get more of Rob.
Worst Feature: It's a Dumb Movie for Kids
Judge Dredd is a case study in why we don't get cool effects heavy films anymore. Looking at Judge Dredd makes the Marvel Films look like cheap dookie. What I wouldn't give for some of these kinds of effects in an Iron Man or a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Hopefully we will get some kind of compromise. But the writers, producers, and studio were not willing to take the property seriously enough to do their high budget justice. The plot of Judge Dredd is so stupid and the themes are so mismanaged that of course this movie is remembered as a piece of shit. It's reasons like this that no one will take chances on a big budget practical effects film anymore.
Summary
Judge Dredd is confused. There are ways that writers can make an audience root for a hero like Dredd even though he is absolutely representative of oppression, the way to do that is not to preach about how great the law is and how bad the poor people who are suffering under the boots of the judges are. You can't make the bad guys motive that he values freedom and individuality. Judge Dredd looks great, has backwards ass messaging, a very stupid script, and keeps insisting things via exposition rather than showing us in it's world building. It is a frustratingly difficult movie to buy into, but it's good qualities buy it enough good will to keep it out of the dumpster fire.
