Didn't want to hijack someone else's post that was just a joke, but in all seriousness, if you feel like you're correcting autocorrect more than it corrects you, editing your dictionary to include slang or uncommon words that you use in your day-to-day life might help.

Some examples of other words (besides aromantic) that I added on my phone:

Allo (as in short for allosexual or alloromantic)

Boop

Cishet (as in cisgender and heterosexual/heteroromantic)

Nonbinary (spelled as one word, as opposed to "non binary" or "non-binary")

Quagsire (the Pokémon species)

Reblogged

Stimming (for some reason "stim" was fine though)

Zofran (brand name of a medication I'm on)

In many cases on a computer, and I believe on android phones as well, you can right click or long press on a word that's been flagged as wrong and it will give you an "add to dictionary" option

On an iphone, you can fix it in settings under general > keyboards > text replacement. This will bring up a list of words already set up as shortcuts or added to the dictionary. Press the + on the top right. Type the word/phrase you want to add in the "phrase" field and leave the "shortcut" field blank. (You can also use the shortcut field to create abbreviations that will be automatically translated when you type them, or to add corrections that your phone doesn't do by default. For example, I don't spend a lot of time talking about fir trees but I accidentally type "fir" when I mean "for" all the time, so I set my phone to correct "fir" to "for" unless I specifically tell it not to)

Ghost, I can't believe it... no one likes my drawings... I try hard to be good so no one sees it... when other artists post something... it gets 200 likes or even more..

All I can really recommend for this is, don’t give up!

You are a developing artist and that is admirable, I think if you just keep on, you’ll get to having alot of likes

Hell, I don’t even get that many likes, highest I’ve gotten so far is like- 74? Not giving up though

Plus, if it helps, usually the more fandom media you post, it’s more likely to get likes more than ocs- as sad as it is

I used to love reading Bethyl or Meth but everyone liked one style from one author (who doesn’t have a good fic honestly) and suddenly that became the trend. Then you have writers who are good but stick to the same format. It gets really boring. Also I can make a few writers who can’t even write the characters in a believable manner and they just suck. It’s downright boring in the Bethyl and Meth fic world these days.

I’m really sorry you feel that way, Anon. And this may make me sound kind of rude but if you’re tired of the “boring” then maybe you can try writing something? I know seems easy. Writing is so hard sometimes. Especially for characters you love and want to try and get right. But the good thing about fanfic is you don’t have to be 100% with the character. If I’m reading a fic and it FEELS like the character even if they’re in a totally unnatural position/environment for the character, then that’s good for me. I’m a big fan of crossover fics for that same reason actually.

Look I’ve gone through so many fandom phases because I, like you, get bored of things after awhile. That and I’m old and have been on the web since before even Google existed and was memorizing http links because the save feature wasn’t really a thing 😅 if you’re bored then maybe go to a new fandom for awhile, read a few fics for it, then try coming back after some time. See if that sparks you anew. The Bethyl fandom has suffered some heavy hits over the years so I’m just impressed there’s still people dedicated to writing for the ship at all. It’s basically a necromancer ship (one character alive and the other left in limbo) so I can understand people filtering away or sticking to the happier routes or just trying to stay sane. It’s hard when half of your ship is left in “bullshit writer choice” Hell.

I feel for you Anon but all I can say is maybe try writing what you want yourself or step away for a bit then come back later. Refresh yourself. It’s okay to step out of routine some times. Good for the brain. And be easy on yourself and others!

Unfortunately preachy list

Just an unordered list of stuff that I think helped me get a job(tm) after a humanities degree. I'm sure that there's a lot more. Hopefully some of you will find this helpful - I made mistakes and sometimes I was just lucky. Unfortunately, luck seems to be the single most important factor... anyway, here's what I gathered from personal experience:

Learn to articulate what you can do (e.g. project management from doing a collaborative study) and put that into your applications

This is unfortunately dependent on your university (system): Try to branch out and do stuff that interests you. You never know where additional skills may come in handy.

Talking of skills: Get yourself some bona fide computer skills. There will be courses offered at university or check out any number of online tutorials.

If you're still doing your degree and maybe have an idea of where you want to go: Look at job listings and the requirements put down there. Try to acquire some of the key skills.

Subscribe to newsletters and try to follow people on academic twitter or mastodon. This is where you will find out about opportunities (workshops, conferences - but also interships and job listings)

Apply for scholarships and positions that interest you. Unless you fulfill none of the criteria - it's fair game and you might be what they are looking for. Imposter syndrome is a hell of a mindset.

And that is!! 18 of 18 pages!! It's this long because I didn't want to break up their fight. I hope you enjoy :)

I had to rewrite their fight like,,, 3 times lmao. I'm not very good at writing fights because I'm Incredibly Passive Aggressive and Very Non Confrontational. Thankfully my partner helped me out a bit with making the escalation feel natural, so hopefully their grievances and motivations read well. In the end, both of them are starving probably-emotionally-stunted teenage boys in a high-stress situation, and Tage is being faced constantly with one of the biggest sources of his trauma that he doesn't even remember-- of course he's going to lash out.

Fun thing I learned this time around, if I struggle with planning a chapter, it can kind of help to write it out in prose like I would a fanfic, and then translate it to comic form. This is how I eventually ended up with 18 pages of comic,,, because I can't really estimate how much I'll need to draw when I'm writing in prose. In turn, this did help a lot with adding more natural behaviors between dialogue, like Tage tapping his finger to fidget while crossing his arm, or all of their pointing and gesturing while they're arguing.
