Nights like these were sudden and rare, you awake to slight thrashing behind you, looking over your shoulder to see your boyfriend in a state of distress. He's holding on very lightly to your pajama top, his eye brows knitted into a pained knot, his breath heavy and laced with light mumbles. You click on your bedside lamp, adding a dim to your bedroom before you shook him.

"Riki, Riki wake up" Your contact for a second seeming to worsen his state before he calms, then sudden shoots up. His hair messy, his lightly watering as he looks at you before he brushes you off. B-lining to your shared bathroom, you don't hear him flick the light on, but you hear the faucet turn on. Rushing off the bed you follow his path stopping at the door of the dark room.

You flick the light on, he's standing before the mirror with his head hung low, water dripping slightly from his hair. You make your way to him slowly, laying a comforting hand on his back, leaning in to see his face, his eyes sealed tightly shut. "Nightmare?" he doesn't answer, but before you could drop the topic he pulls you into a hug. Holding you tightly, your hands going around him as well.

"Please don't go, please." he weakly cries, your grip around growing tighter in response. "I won't, I won't I promise."

You pull away, holding his hand tightly as you guide him back to bed, raising the covers to cover you two warmly. your chest pressed to his back, your hands securely around him. "I'll always be here, hmm. If anyone tries to get you, I'll beat them up." he chuckles lightly, his hands going over yours.
