I’ve now spent this entire afternoon listening to Italo Disco from the early 1980s.

10 questions
I was tagged by @reinventing-wednesday to: answer questions given to you and then write 10 questions of your own. Tag 10 people. Sarah's questions: 1. How do you feel about soup? I like it in theory but aside from a few bowls, I've often found it a warm and awkward disappointment. 2. What’s a body part that you wouldn’t mind losing? I like how my body feels, but sometimes I catch a glimpse in a photo or reflection and cringe... My choice discards would relate to age (errant hair, skin tags) but that may be too honest so I'll be whimsical and say pinkies; what are they good for? 3. If you could change the color of the sky, what color would you change it to? Silvery paisley 4. How long can you hold your breath? I don't know and I'm not gonna time it now 5. Do you dream in color or black and white? Usually color. I think. But it's hard to recall dreams without pushing some conscious thought into them so maybe I'm just hoping for colors. 6. Do you prefer the beach or the woods? WOODS! 7. What calms you? Tea. Chocolate. Hugs. Sunset. Writing. 8. When is the last time you felt an adrenaline rush and what caused you to feel it? That's pretty personal. Since I obviously went to a dirty place that's wildly inappropriate, I'll be whimsical and say when I daydreamed about cutting off my pinkies (see question 2). 9. Can you swim? Yes. But I don't like it. 10. Do you consider a hotdog a sandwich? Why or why not? Yes. It's meat surrounded by bread. --- My questions: 1) Favorite incarnation of Sherlock Holmes? 2) What is your favorite kitchen utensil? 3) Would you rather collect scars or coins? 4) What's your favorite nursery rhyme/fairy tale? 5) What are your thoughts on toe-socks? 6) Can you name anything more extraneous than life coaches? If so, please share. 7) Beards or scarves for warmth and general sexiness? 8) Open road or open sea? 9) Beats or Hippies? 10) I almost included a vainglorious gif showing one of my talents, raising an eyebrow. What hidden talents can you share? tagging... hmmm... I don't wanna bug people... so I'll nudge somefriends @riadovoidostoevsky @chucklingpecan @bluemonkwrites @asecondathousandvoices @hookersorcake

hookersorcake replied to your post: have any of my followers gotten their wisdom teeth...
It’s not too bad. I had all 4 out at once and they had to saw the bottom 2 out because they were impacted. The hard/annoying part is afterwards because you need to let the holes left behind clot. So you gotta be careful to not smoke or drink through a straw or create any suction.
my bottom ones are also impacted as fuck and not peaking out any.
really, my two biggest fears are not being in control of myself after the surgery when i’m still all messed up on painkillers and dry sockets.

hookersorcake replied to your post “Wallace Stevens: The Emperor of Ice-Cream”
I made my best friend swear to read this at my funeral
a fine choice
wrt actual deaths and funerals, my mind always goes to Millay’s “Dirge Without Music,” to which I am stubbornly partial, but it’s not something you’d request for yourself. and tbh it doesn’t strike the ideal note: it’s the opposite of calming or soothing, which is a tonality I do value in this context and have had excellent rl outcomes with in speaking with the bereaved, but like maybe not in the formal speeches. possibly a bit much, emotionally speaking, to impose on either the reader or the attendees. although I suppose people do read Auden's “Funeral Blues” all the time at funerals, and that one is at least as harrowing.
(when Nick Cave lost his son I posted Berryman’s “Dream Song 29,″ which might be the best poetic expression of grief I know, but the last stanza makes it rather unsuitable for anyone other than Nick Cave)

Didn't Cheech have a character named Bowie? And funnily now all I can think of is Cheech & Chongs bit "Dave's not here."
OMG, I’d forgotten about Alice Bowie! Now I gotta find a video of Earache in My Eye.

sell us the great mystery - in a convenient form - let its ease of existence soothe our wild sadness
I'm concerned it would be like unwrapping that 7 year old candy in the dish at grandma's house. Bitter and possibly toxic...

hookersorcake said about IN THE BUFF: I’ve got a Phillip K Dick book collection. It takes up about 4 bookshelves. 12" of Dick.
======) - - -
Haha. You’re thinking of fangirling, which is a subset of buffing, true, but not exactly what I’m talking about. Fangirling is person based. I myself fangirl about Tim Gunn, Charles Sanders Peirce, Joseph Heller (who only wrote 2 books, so my dick is pretty short). Hemingway (for technical reasons), Burt Reynolds (for obvious reasons), obviocity for reasons.
Life is short and we are bored, so let’s make shit up!

Hey how is the business going? Hows life? Wanna buy some land in Georgia and start a commune? We can build cob cathedrals and solar arrays. Probably some kinda antennae too so we can have internets. Maybe we can build a rocketship outta trash like that old TV show.
Business is going well. But I’d rather be in a hippie commune with you and some of your lovely hairy ladies. Maybe we can get Sheriff Taylor to help us build another space ship.
