It hurts, it aches, it tears me apart and all i can do is scream at the sky, shake my fist and beat the ground, bargain with God and beg him to bring you back

You’re bloodstained from all the times
I’ve used you to hurt me.
Bone-white and beautiful,
Brittle, bitten raw.
It was easier to pretend that you were the villain
Than accept that you were the knife in my hand.
I dragged your corpse through ravaged lands
No ground soft enough for a burial.
On the coldest nights, I cut you open
And crawled inside your skin.
I told myself it was only so I could stay alive
Long enough to keep dragging.
And what little strength I had
Let me stand at the edge of a wasteland;
It let me walk across it with
the burden and the bruise.
But it wasn’t enough to keep my broken hands batting
At the bare-bodied knowledge that I was the blight.
Frozen crystals cut their way out
Of the corners of my eyes.
On the darkest nights, I leaned your body against mine
“It’s going to be okay, you’re going to be okay.”
You used to keep me warm.
“You used to keep me warm.”
Now I’m walking under trees, the sunlight flashing
Red-black-red on the insides of my eyelids.
The violence has melted
Into thawed-out ground,
And I’m planting a flower for us.
I’m ready to start being alive again.

Khaya Ronkainen releases her new book, "The Sheltering" #Poetry #Finland #IndiePoet
Image Source: Khaya Ronkainen To touch the pulse of grief is something each of us faces, and it is a personal and emotional journey to navigate through. Oftentimes, we try to sweep these painful mental states under the rug, only to find that they somehow wiggle their way out and rear their threatening gaze. As I read this new book release, The Sheltering by Khaya Ronkainen, I experienced a raw…

What Pet Loss is Like
pet loss is like a storm a storm that is inside ur heart a storm inside your head that never lets their hold of you sometimes things remind you of them like music or a smell Sometimes even looking at their toys
grief never goes away it will always be in your mind look at the moon or the sun tell them good morning tell them good night tell them about day or night and say i love you
