ouuguuh … it would be cool if lik (going off the tags of this post) … there was a story reason as for why all the pokemon are attracted to the gear station :3 maybe theres a super ancient pokemon beneath (or somethinng similar IDK ! THEY GOT XURXITREE HOOKED UP TO THE WIRES annd its lik ghost stories lik Oooh theres emptty trains ! and spice is lik Thats not me doing it .) like its SOMETHING tahts drawing them there , whether it be another pokemon or some sort of life force or energy
THOUGHTS .... Okay giratina specifically loves trains for whatever reason and starts hanging around railyards as soon as they get invented and protects the trains from harm, seeing them as part of it's 'hoard.' Even though it's ??? weird at first the railroad workers eventually just accept Giratina's presence since it's not harming the rails or anything and it eventually becomes kindof the patron saint of trains, later becoming an influence for the design of some trains and Giratinism kindof just becomes a slightly ironic tradition for railway workers .
--> Giratina eventually hibernates in an abandoned tunnel in gear station (possibly unbeknownst to Ingo & Emmet) which attracts a lot of various types of pokemon to the area . Some of which start working at the station
#mailbox#hoof draws#submas#[ingo voice] why did you think i have a chandelure#going with this from now on ....#i think funniest option is ingo & emmet KNOW the pokemon equivalent of an all-powerful demon king is asleep under the station#like it's just an open secret . but it's fine because he likes the trains#<-elesa thinks they're fucking with her and starts asking every depot agent she sees and they're all like ? oh yeah giratina#yeah he lives in the maintenance tunnel :]

Ada, checking Lucifer's hooves: When was the last time you maintained your hooves?
Lucifer: What?
Ada: Your hooves, Luci. When was the last time you maintained them? Cleaned them out? Washed them?
Lucifer: Why would I need to clean them out and wash them? Don't they get clean when I take a bath?
Ada: Do you wash your hooves SPECIFICALLY when you take a bath?
Lucifer: ...no.
Ada, sighing: Come on, my hoofed goon. Time for you to learn about hoof maintenance.

I like mentally equating haircutting in humans are space orcs aus to those hoof maintenance/horn trimming videos that get like. at least ten comments each time going "???? so are we going to ignore the literal animal torture happening here??"
#like it looks really bad to us but this is not a harmful process (if done right) and is. very helpful to the animals in question actually#I've seen the “aliens think cutting hair is like insanely painful” thing before but I don't think I've seen an elaboration on. why.#like. fur sheds??? if there's fuzzy aliens or whatever it has to be atleast somewhat known this occurs#I can understand like. a scaled alien equating this to something like a violent ripping off of skin or something#but I. struggle to imagine an alien with fur coming to a similar conclusion#so I like to imagine hair cutting is only perceived as painful because the method itself to do it is seen as unnecessarily violent#like. why are you doing that??? your head fur should just fall out when it's ready to?? you're going to damage your coat???#and even then it's probably more of like. if you saw someone use a chainsaw to cut their nails. kind of reaction.#it's more. this is violent and potentially extremely painful and also there are better ways to do this specific thing.#saying stuff#i think.#humans are space orcs#I think I forgot to explain the hoof maintenance/horn trimming connection#basically it's like. logically yeah this looks better but it's seen as painful/even if you know this helps them it seems like it hurts

i need fgo to acknowledge servants horses more
#achilles isn't enough i need to know how each servant is around their horse(s)#i think that duryodhana has two main steeds and would have a hard time controlling them for when he's being petulant#highest ranking older mare (12-16) + her offspring (4-8) the older one would have a stubborn and calm temperament who doesn't respect duryo#and her daughter would have the same kind of chill but would be more playful and curious. dur is talking with his brothers & she trots over#starts nuzzling and sniffing his clothes because she's bored. duryo keeps talking but starts petting her#i also think duryodhana has instinctively good balance and he's good at multitasking so showmanship-like riding comes to him easily#but he's shit at all horse maintenance. especially hoof care; he's convinced his girls are going to kick him and doesn't want to even try i#but he wants good care for his horses so he watches over the servants tending to them. bossy yet incompetent duryodhana 🥰#we know georgios is a good owner but i think he likes rein maintenance & spends a fair amount of time making sure bayards armor is spotless#lalter gives out snacks more easily than her counterpart (going after the wild hunt takes energy! llamrei is a good girl!)#percival is great with horses in general and he enjoys taking care of them and will help out any other knights if they're having trouble#ashvatthaman is (un)surprisingly really good with young stallions. he's not afraid of them at all and will scold them for their mean deeds#horse tries to eat his clothes or nibble his hair and he's like. oi stop that you bastard. and the horse listens (will eat his hair later)#prince of lanling is very thorough with horses getting enough feed and water and will make sure they're well rested#arjuna is like. the main character of a horse movie. he's emotionally sensitive with them & bonds with horses easily (who sense his worries#works really really hard to be good at riding and wants to leave no room for mistakes. really aware of his posture at all times#we had dogy event please give me hors event... horses cute and underrated<-most biased man talking

the lone minotaur
18+ DARK CONTENT BELOW, MINORS AND BLANK BLOGS DNI
𓆩♡𓆪 ACHELOUS "LOUIS" BELLOCK ↳ nickname: louis (pronouced lewis)
𓆩♡𓆪 AGE ↳ ~2040 years old (relatively young for minotaurs); 41 years old in human years
𓆩♡𓆪 BIRTHDAY ↳ april 30th
𓆩♡𓆪 HEIGHT ↳ 6'10'' (human), 8' (minotaur)
𓆩♡𓆪 SPECIES ↳ minotaur; currently disguised as a human
𓆩♡𓆪 CAREER ↳ rancher/farmer: specializes in juice and animal based products (such as cheeses, milk, wool, etc.)
𓆩♡𓆪 AREA OF RESIDENCE ↳ wicklow ranch on the outerskirts of the neighboring town winterborough (~250 miles away from the city Lunaris)
𓆩♡𓆪 APPEARANCE (i'm bad at describing since i rely on memory + drawings) ↳ human — a heavy set, tan male with fluffy dark brown hair — dark olive green eyes, very tired looking/relaxed — long scar going down his right eye — low maintenance: retains a short beard, chest/body hair, arm hair, leg hair, etc. he's just a very hairy dude. — calloused hands, very work-worn — back scars from past; mostly healed over but still prominent in sight and touch — ear piercings on his right ear — nipple piercings, usually horseshoe shaped (got them when he still was under human ownership and still keeps them on as a reminder) ↳ partial transformation — relatively the same, height becomes slightly taller by a few inches — horns grow in; pale ivory in color and smooth to the touch — lower canines grow out; left canine is slightly chipped — tail grows back, still able to be hidden in his pants — slight more hairier — nails on hands start turning black (hoof color) ↳ minotaur — head turns into a complete bull/cow head; brown fur, floppy ears, horns + canines grow all out to max size — legs turn into bull/cow legs, feet turn into hooves — torso + arms stay relatively human in appearance — height is at full standing length — long tail is fully grown out — has to wear a loincloth due to having no clothes at this size — considered to be an "abnormal" minotaur due to his underbite/outgrown canines and his tail (he's seen depictions of his species and he believes he's abnormal)
𓆩♡𓆪 PERSONALITY (i'm also really bad at explaining this lmfao) ↳ achelous considers himself a rather isolated man. once scorned and feared by mankind, and used for his immense strength prior to the creation/reliance to machinery, achelous shares no fondness for them at all. most of these feelings hasn't changed even a little as the years went on, and he continues to try and keep contact with the townspeople at a minimum. he's not unnecessarily or outright violent towards the ~30k town population in particular as they're rather peaceful, but when it comes to city folk or outside tourists, his somewhat calm demeanor changes drastically towards them.
↳ achelous believes that he is a cruel monster, but the townspeople do not think the same. they genuinely believe that he's rather a sweet gentleman, seeing that he's a big softie towards the children and the elderly. he's actually more indifferent and hostile to adult men and women, having the belief that they are the cruelest when humans are in their 20s-60s.
↳ achelous is a particular rule follower, especially on his ranch. break his rules, he'll break you until you follow them correctly.
↳ he's stoic and straight to the point, there will never be a day where he sugarcoats his words. lying to him is similar to breaking the rules, so he's not fond of not being honest.
↳ achelous has a pretty even temperament unless there's a rule breaker, annoying human from the city/outside, or brats. his punishments are down right cruel, and that's coming from someone that had personally experienced the worst from humanity.
↳ achelous can have his flirty moments, but only if he's wasted from the alcohol he makes since normal alcohol isn't strong enough. his attempts are rather poor due to his lack of socializing and picking up cues, so he normally comes off as sleazy with an ego, but he's really trying his best.
↳ though it may not seem like it most of the time, achelous is rather possessive and protective over the one he loves. he has pretty conservative views when it comes to having a family, believing that the man must provide for the woman while the woman takes care of the kids and the home. his cruel words and actions make it so his love stays (as that's the only form of affection he learned how to portray), and his last resort is usually harming/threatening/killing the one closest to his love.
↳ achelous is a good convincer, it's why his products are usually sought after in the farmer's market every sunday. it's technically not lying when what he says and believes is true.
↳ of course, achelous prefers not to socialize unless it's absolutely necessary, but he's so good at fixing things and helping others out accidentally that he's constantly requested around for his assistance. he doesn't really want to do it, but if it gets them off his back and property, he will.
↳ achelous is hard-working, he hates bad/lazy workers and prefers to do things his own way. that's why there's no other farmhands/workers besides him, not including his obvious distaste for humans. from 5:30 am to 7:30 pm, he follows his routine to a tee every day. sundays are his breaks, even if he technically doesn't really need it.
↳ he's the most fatherly out of all my posted ocs, probably due to the face that he's the one that's completely determined and decently stable enough to start a family. achelous has also been waiting for the same species as him, but since he never seen another minotaur for most of his life, his patience is growing thin and he may have to take to a human mate the longer he waits.
↳ achelous has extreme guilt/shame over his true form, it's why he managed to find a witch to help him appear more human (ironic isn't it). to him, it's a protectant from being even more outcasted, despite his consistent insistence to be left alone. his partial/full transformation only comes out when his emotions become extremely high (mostly out of anger, but can come out in states of high arousal). he has quite the steady composure, and is very in-tune with his emotions, giving him that needed control.
𓆩♡𓆪 ABILITIES ↳ extreme strength — can lift up multiple logs or hay bales without struggle — occasionally lifts up his animals to make sure they're right where they need to be ↳ intelligence/experience — due to his long-lived life and the experiences he's gone through, he's rather quickly decisive on what to do/say — this unfortunately makes him the "i-told-you-so"/"this-is-what-you-get" type ↳ heightened senses — minotaurs have near perfect vision and heightened senses (taste and scent especially) — due to this, achelous has quick reflexes and reacts to situations accordingly. this can also make him vulnerable to extremely strong smells or sudden bright lights. ↳ endurance/speed — achelous rarely or doesn't even get tired, sometimes his daily routine gets finished earlier if he's at the top of his game. he merely fakes exhaustion to look less suspicious to the townspeople, that's the only time he lies to them since it's for his protection. — due to his species type, he's rather quick on his feet. not as much as normal minotaurs (if there are) due to his heftier build.
𓆩♡𓆪 BACKGROUND ↳ around the start of the roman empire years, achelous was born to a lower class family. to their horror, he was born with a calf's head and legs, believing that their gods have spited them even more. rather than killing him to be done with it, they chose to sell their newborn to a higher status family, seeing that he'd be used for their entertainment. there was never such a creature as him, only passing legends and stories, no one truly thought that a minotaur could possibly exist. they were paid a good sum, and achelous' fate was finally sealed. as he grew up, he was tormented with their mockery, forced to work in the fields from day to night with no breaks. achelous was the face of jokes and laughs during their lavish parties, food constantly thrown at his face and being tossed about for their amusement. this so-called family of his abused the poor minotaur, making sure that he knew his place and how disgusting he was to everyone around. even as they dragged him around publicly, he was forced to wear a hood and cloak, but his size was impossible to hide and the people around would tear at his disguise to taunt jeers at him, constantly leaving him filthy and bloody at the end of the day. it's strange though. no matter how much he was hit, how many wounds they left on his back, achelous never fought back. he himself never knew why, even to this day.
↳ as the empire finally fell apart, achelous managed to finally escape, not without burning the house down and making sure he saw his abusers' faces contort as they burned alive while he ran off. hiding in a boat traveling to where england is now, he stayed there for years underneath the docks, surviving on whatever he was able to find, until he heard word of travel to "india" and managed to sneak onto the next boat going there. once he reached the americas, he traveled further into the south, around where mississippi, tennessee, alabama, and georgia is currently located. achelous finally found the freedom is wanted for so long, finally building his own home and farm, ensuring that no other human may make their way on his land.
↳ this peace didn't last long, well, to him at least it didn't. at this time, he had previously sought out a witch that was able to alter his appearance semi-permanently, so long as he didn't lose control of himself. achelous now is roughly 2000 years old, and a town had begun to be built nearby his ranch. winterborough, from what he's heard from others as he sold his products at the market, a new town for new beginnings. he didn't care, so long as they didn't bother him or figure out he lived there. they figured it out. the first group of townspeople decided to greet him, since they're the ones sorta causing a disturbance as the homes and buildings were still being constructed. to achelous' surprise, they were kind, offering him gifts and words of praise about the work he's done for himself. he's... he's never experience this before, he could tell that they were being genuine from their smiles and expressions. hm... maybe these humans weren't so bad. as the years went on, they never quite questioned his origins or why it seems that he never quite ages the same as them, achelous brought them a good amount of financial stability in their small town and he was overall just a great guy, even if he was a little antisocial.
↳ achelous is still not openly fond of humankind in general, but he is rather protective over winterborough and its residents. it had grown into a place where he thought of as a warm home, minus his ranch. he actually knows everyone by name, who's family member belongs to which; achelous cares deeply, even if he doesn't show it. the townspeople all know him as well, they like to say that he's their guardian (which is mostly right since there's barely any crime in their town). they all adore and deeply trust achelous for what he has done for them, but they still don't know his true nature, his true form. all in all, the townspeople and achelous' relationship towards one another is symbiotic.
𓆩♡𓆪 OTHER INFO ↳ achelous shows up to every town event, to everyone's surprise. they know he's not really fond of interacting with everyone, but his intentions are to ensure that the tourists/city folk isn't causing any trouble for them. he hates crowds, but he hates newcomers even more.
↳ the town only knows him as louis bellock, achelous thinks they don't have the ability to pronounce his actual name, so he lets them call him louis. bellock was made up on the spot when he was asked.
↳ when the first townspeople met achelous, he was a complete rugged mess. all his hair was completely outgrown, his clothes were mostly in rags, and he kinda smelled like dirt and grass. he was pretty frightening as a first appearance, and they also kinda assumed he was a squatter before he clarified that he was the owner of the ranch. it was then achelous decided he had to keep a decent appearance.
↳ his voice is on the lower octave, very gruff and rough. achelous almost has a complete southern accent, but still has hints of a greek/roman one that occasionally slips out. he's also very blunt sounding, almost as if he's bored or very uninterested with a conversation, and he'll usually only talk in a few words or less if possible. sometimes it'll come out scratchy or crackly if he hasn't spoke in a while.
↳ achelous owns 2 kangal shepherd dogs and 2 bernese mountain dogs, they're all male. — agre (kangal) — hyrcanus (kangal) — nebrophonos (bernese) — ichnobates (bernese)
↳ achelous had to teach himself how to read and write, and thanks to the library and this new-fangle internet, he managed to learn much quicker. his penmanship isn't the best, but it's still legible.
↳ achelous's sexual orientation can be considered to be aroace since he never met anyone like him and most humans disgust him anyways. however, due to his conservative values, he's more interested with the female gender. he's also kinda still a virgin, due to the fact that he literally has no experience with romance/sex in general.
↳ achelous is skilled at the guitar (he had years to learn and perfect it), and he'll often play it deep into the night in front of the fireplace.
↳ achelous can somewhat understand animals, but it's not like voices he hears from people, it's more like a basic understanding of what they want, so he sometimes gives them what they ask of him. he is sometimes called the soother in the town due to his ability to calm down even the most rowdiest of animals.
(will continue to update this whenever i get ideas)

Do you do farm stuff Scout? Or would you like to? Like owning chickens or tending an outdoor garden, that sort of thing?
From ages 7 to 19 I lived on farms, and was made to be an active participant in maintenance and usages of the facilities I don't know why the fuck I'm typing it like this, but I grew up on a farm. I was kinda in charge of everything, but slacked a lot and my brother had to cover for me. That said, I still spent a LOT of time doing chores.
At one point or another I've been responsible for most every farm chore you can really think of. All the basics like raking leaves, milking goats, collecting eggs, feeding chickens- but also the big stuff like moving tons of hay, herding flocks, caring for large animals such as llamas, alpacas, horses, and cows, as well as delivering babies, gutting and plucking fowl (only chickens and turkeys, though I've also cared for ducks and geese), dehoring, hoof cleaning, corpse transportation, crop maintenance, winter ice removal by breaking up frozen water troughs in 10 below weather (thought this was usually circumvented by anticipating the cold and setting up water heaters beforehand), constructing enclosures, slaughtering pigs, and etc etc etc etc etc all that shit. Bunnies snakes mini horses donkeys. All that shit. Farm stuff. Ya know.
Moved away when I went to college and immediately plunged into a mixed-zoning district in the Fushimi district in Kyoto. This was a really good transition from rural living to city living, because mixed zoning districts have blocks dedicated to apartment complexes and family homes right next to blocks of rice fields and ponds, which was behind the 7-Eleven I bought most of my food from.
Now I live in a SHITTY mixed zoning area in SHITTY America where we never stop hearing cars because there's a massive parking lot nearby and constant police sirens, not because the area is particularly dangerous, but because there's like 2 police stations nearby.
My ideal housing goal, which also happens to be my current goal in life, is to reach a slightly more rural version of the Kyoto living situation. The goals are very distinct:
0. I'm editing this one in after the fact to note that while I've used Kyoto as an example a few times in this post, I'm just looking for an area that feels right and would happily live in any prefecture that fits my needs.
I want to not be tied directly to a visa which would draw me away from doing whatever work I really want to do, like my student visa did later on when school started getting worse as professors were struggling to learn digital classroom mechanics. The visa I'm shooting for is dependent on a few ideas I have for businesses, but that's still kind of a long shot.
I want to be in a position of relative financial freedom so that I can spend enough time genuinely living there instead of just being tied to a computer all day, limiting me to the world I already know. This one's the big one, so I'm still workin on that. That said, recently I've been taking some pretty massive steps towards making this a more tangible circumstance. Fingers crossed.
I want to have a home that I own instead of renting, and I'd like to work with a Japanese architect to actually construct it. Again, these are big big plans, but I think a life goal is a thing worth thinking big about. And it's not like I'm trying to build a mansion, or even a family-sized house, I think I'd be content with three bedrooms, a kitchen, and common room. Of course, in keeping with the "dream big" spirit, in a world where I've got enough money to have a nicer, slightly bigger home, I can imagine as many as 5 bedrooms. It's nice to imagine in this "perfect" outcome that I've got a reason to have enough space for guests to sleep over. A local community, or an otherwise tangible, real-world web of relationships would be nice. Like, Real Adult Socializing Shit.
I want to have a significant emphasis on self-reliance on this home. As far solarpunk as I can reasonably go, without biting off more than I can chew as someone who's kinda limp-wristed. In a gay way and a feeble way. I figure this will come down to solar panels, water filtration, a well, and a garden (or at least the space to have gardening stuff like pots and soil). Some chickens would be nice too, but I don't know that I'd ever take on livestock proper.
I want to be properly submerged in trees without being more than a 5 minute bike ride from a train station. Somwhere like Yase-Hieizanguchi Station in north Kyoto is a good example of station that's on the edge of a metropolitan area and the forest. There was an apartment there I almost got, but backed out when covid hit cuz I decided moving across town would be a whack decision.
This is a BONUS goal, but I think it'd also be nice to not compromise on a single location, and instead have a home out in the inaka, while also having a small apartment rented in the city I can go between whenever I need to. In a world where I can afford a plot of land out in the country, but would still need to travel into town for business, that would be nice. Though in that scenario I'd likely need to also take on the arduous task of getting a Japanese drivers license. If I know far enough in advance that I want to take this specific route then I could bypass that last one by getting an international license before moving to Japan, but after moving to Japan you're barred from getting an international license.
I couldn't tell you in honesty that I'm a Salt of the Earth, Red Blooded American Farmer in my heart, and in fact I could not WAIT to move away from the farm. I hated that I didn't have a say in living on a farm, and was made to take care of animals. But what I DID enjoy about that life was the stillness. The opportunities of perfect silence. The stars unobstructed by light pollution. The ability to explore. Those things I was incredibly grateful for. And as such, in my perfect world, I would like to live on something like a farm again one day, just on my own terms.

My filly shaved off half her hoof wall when she was a couple months old. Like there was a 2x2 inch chunk of hoof on the ground. She’s totally fine now through, 100% recovery!
Hooves do remarkably well, it's usually the maintenance after the injury that can get them in trouble if not maintained. The hoof usually grows abnormally afterwards. My mare sliced off a large chunk straight to her laminae and is perfectly fine, no obvious hoof deformity thankfully

How about a romantic yandere headcanon of Big Mac with an earth pony reader.
I'll see what I can do. He strikes me more as a platonic yandere but romantic I think I can do! He'd be very similar either way.
Yandere! Big Mac with Earth Pony! Darling
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Manipulation, Peer pressure (?), Implied threats, Mentioned drugging of food, Dubious relationship, Implied kidnapping.
Big Mac is rather calm and easy going.
He's hard to agitate, caring, and carries wisdom when ponies need it.
He'd be a yandere that is kept under control most of the time.
Big Mac would be Overprotective, Slightly Manipulative, and overall just wants to be the one to care for his darling.
He doesn't talk much and prefers to just listen to you talk with a loving gaze.
Big Mac also rarely gets jealous, making him a low maintenance yandere.
He may feel more at home with an earth pony darling.
His whole family is earth ponies, after all.
You'd fit right in!
He could've met you in a few ways.
You're a baker in Ponyville, you're a friend of Applejack, or you help the farm out once in awhile.
He may not say much but he is always willing to lend a helping hoof for you.
Big Mac takes awhile to develop feelings but treats his darling like family once he finally develops them.
He wouldn't stalk you although Big Mac does like to encourage his family to ask you to visit longer.
Big Mac definitely would like to marry his darling at some point.
The whole tradtional Apple wedding.
He's mostly just very sweet to his darling and rarely has any signs of red flags.
He's a bit manipulative by using his family to encourage you to spend time with him.
But he's so sweet when he offers dates and spends time with you...!
You have a feeling you can't just say no when he's showing so much care towards you.
He's such a gentlecolt, after all!
As he is with those he considers family, Big Mac is protective of you.
He'd probably love you more if you were also the family type of pony-
He doesn't want to harm other ponies over you but he will be there to comfort you if somepony makes you upset.
He's really strong, he just prefers using his strength for good.
His family may think of things differently-
Since the Apple family is super close, if Big Mac conveyed that you were upset by anypony, well that's a good enough reason for action.
You wonder why the pony you had a falling out with one day never talks to you now....
While Big Mac himself may not do anything like drug your food, Applejack will probably do it due to loving her brother and wanting to keep his relationship with you.
You want to blame him for feeling so sick all the time in the barn.
Yet he hasn't done a thing... has he?
Why would he hurt the one he loves?
Honestly, the scariest thing about yanderes of the Apple family is their close connections.
The family is huge and once Big Mac decides it, you're part of it.
With an earth pony darling, Big Mac promises to do everything he can to make you truly feel like part of his family.
No point in leaving, either.
He and the family promises to take good care of you!

Fun fact!
Hooves need to be clipped down to stop from overgrowing! Hooves are similar to nails and will grow out and sometimes curl in itself and make it very uncomfortable to walk in. As well as different types of bacteria getting trapped in the hoof that could potentially lead to hoof rot!
It’s important to make sure your hoof is all properly leveled out with each to ensure comfort when walking and daily maintenance.
Lucky for you I know how to perform this task
$35 and your hollowheads will always walk freely
:D
Elaborate excuse to snatch my hollowheads but I’ll bargain
😔🫱💷💷💷
Don’t tell them anything

how wld u rate ponyplay? ^”^
No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK Yes! | Oh god you don’t even know
most of my exposure to ponyplay stuff has been fairly exclusively that one gaga song, video clips of like. folsom style kink events, and one episode of bones in which the murderer kills her pony in the same manner she'd kill a biohorse. awesome!!!
i think it's neat!!!! not exactly my thing, but i grew up around a lot of horse girls and read a lot of horse (or often, unicorn) books and definitely had a cowboy aesthetic moment myself, so I can see the appeal
horses (i know, ponies + horses are technically different) are interesting creatures to me. they're often in very subservient roles, but there's also the performance/competition aspect via show horses. and there's so much physical power with them. they've always made me a little nervous. large animals in general do. but riding horses is a feeling like little else.
i like how skittish horses can be. how it's expected that a horse will have some "random" trigger. often a horse might not like to be in large groups, or to hear loud noises, or a certain kind of paper bag needs to be avoided. there's also a focus on grooming/maintenance that i admire, getting fur brushed sounds rlly nice tbh >_<
I probably wld never take the role of pony/horse myself. i prefer "paw" to "hoof" too much. but ponies and puppies can be friends, right?

Hello!! Kind of random LMAO but im a zooarchaeologist (archaeologist who studies animals in the archaeological record) who wants to study sheep and goats!! Also cows and deer, but I know you're big on the former; do you have any resources (books, articles, blogs, websites, etc) youd recommend reading to get more informed? Sorry this is such a bizzare ask, but figure id ask you! Also as an artist, i adore your art sm <3.
Ouuhhh I mean honestly. Despite being autistic about bovines I am definitely still kinda dumb about them (-also adding that my specific area of interest is closer to like. Animal husbandry/history) So ngl doing ANY reading at an academic level means you probably already know more than I do but uhm. If it's an interesting read anyway here's misc stuff I've had bookmarked in the ruminant folder for a while in no particular order:
"Microstructure and mechanical properties of different keratinous horns"
Judas goats
Good list of different types of sheep
Different good list
List of goat breeds from the same site
Video about the history of sheep domestication (from a podcast series on sheep!)
"Churro Wool: How the Spanish Brought Sheep to the Americas"
Livestockconservancy.org - Good resource for endangered + heritage breeds
"Sheep and wheat domestication in Southwest Asia"
On ruminant evolution in general
"Evolution of ruminant headgear"
Hoof anatomy/maintenance

It's really interesting to think of all the skills Ada has from Earth. There's gardening, animal care, hunting, foraging, midwifery, survival skills...I'm legit having to look up so many of these things to make sure I'm not fucking up their portrayal. I've spent about an hour already watching videos on proper sheep care and hoof maintenance.
This shit doesn't stop. I only meant to write a fic, and now I'm learning animal husbandry!

Now that we've seen Charlie's little hoofsies and Viv did say in an interview that Alastor also has hoofs -
Hoof buddies having hoof maintenance slumber parties.
Do you see my vision?

Just went and hung out with da pony for like an hour ish I think? Got his hooves did on Friday and his owner [cue the side eyes] said he's always sO HaRd tO CatCh and that's why he never gets any routine maintenance done
Well i caught him easily Friday morning, he stood really nice for the hoof lady, and I just went out now to see if he was "hard to catch" AND HE WALKED TO ME AND GREETED ME
People anger me sometimes
ugh that makes me sad
i’m glad you’re such a good pet momma 🥺💕
