Bruce died(?) again
Jason: Well, it's my turn.
Dick: What are you talking about?
Jason: Everytime Bruce is gone, one of you starts to act just like him, pushing everyone away, acting as only you can be right, and fighting anyone that gets in your way. Dick did it, Tim did it, even Cass kind of did it. So, this time, I will do it.
Tim: Isn't that how you act all the time?
Jason: Whoa, fuck you. You are so banned from historical drama movie nights.

you want a new kind of guy, fine, i raise you: the lady i was briefly roommates with in college who once smoked a blunt at a party and then spent an hour confessing earnestly to me that she genuinely preferred reading detailed episode recaps over actually watching the tv show in question

I never had a place that I considered home. But after coming here, I can sleep soundly until dawn. I don't want to leave again, I want to stay in the Walled City. This place will be torn down sooner or later. I'll stay as long as I can. The reason you can sleep soundly isn't because of the Walled City, it's because of the people inside it.

Tiny Review: Chungking Express 1994. Lovely Feels in Hong Kong.
Tumblr media
The one of the best experiential movies I have watched.
The melancholic mood, the setting, the quirks, the dialog, the letters, the eating place, all chef’s kisses.
I felt like I was in 1990s Hong Kong. I felt the hustle and bustle. Noise, smell, mood, dirt and grime and grit, savvy and sassy and culture of 1990s Hong Kong.
Tumblr media
Chungking Express is a 1994 Hong Kong arthouse romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Wong Kar-wai. It stars Takeshi Kaneshiro, Brigitte Lin, Tony Leung, Valerie Chow, and Faye Wong.

before starting episode 3 of Sunset x Vibes i scrolled past some screenshots? gifs? from this episode and straight up thought it was pictures from one of Mos and Bank's travel videos, and now that i'm 15 minutes in to the episode i'm still not sure that that's not what i'm watching right now
a good portion of this show so far is them not even playing characters but just being themselves and in love but like i'm not even mad about that because they're so stinkin' cute together no matter what they're doing

I was watching this Chinese variety show just to see Ricky and Zhang Hao but then I saw one of the hosts was Zhang Zhenyuan and now I want to cry… 😭💔
#He... Teens In Times deserve better you know?#I keep trying to accept that this is how China is and C-Pop doesn't need to do anything that K-Pop and J-Pop do but#The more I think about it the more unfair it seems... 😢#These Chinese idols train so much and when they debut they just don't get promoted#They don't releaze anything on YT and they just go to variety shows alone and this is it?#That's unfair! This is not why they trained for!#No wonder there are so many Chinese idols in K-Pop it's like “if you want to debut you have to learn Korean and live in SK”#Which is fine if they like SK but what if they don't want to leave China/Taiwan/Hong Kong?? 😭#Guys there's Chinese idols even in J-Pop nowadays!! They really said “I'd rather debut anywhere but China”!!#Again... not saying these idols don't like Japan. Just that they CAN'T CHOOSE whether they want to debut abroad or in their own country!#Even if C-Pop tries to do a little bit like K or J-Pop (ex.: BOY STORY BOYHOOD WayV and the now dead EXO-M)#Their companies DON'T PROMOTE THEM!!! They literally don't invest any money to promote their groups!!!#I'm still not over Asia Super Young and Loong9 in case you didn't notice... 🥺#But... Yeah... I just wish Teens In Times got more rep and that I could just turn my TV on and watch them TOGETHER#And that they had MVs and on YT and etc. (Basically everything I've seen J/K-Pop idols do)#But maybe that's just the K/J-Popper in me and I have to accept that China is China and they owe us nothing#Just because we're interested in East Asian culture doesn't mean they have to all do one thing like the others just to please us!#I will still (try to) stan TNT as much as I can (and as much as they allow me since I speak no Chinese)#Specially ChengXin 🥺 my darling#not kpop or jpop

Hong Kong: Quash Baseless Convictions of Activists
Tumblr media
(New York) – The Hong Kong government should immediately quash a court’s groundless national security law convictions of prominent pro-democracy activists, Human Rights Watch said today.
On May 30, 2024, three judges handpicked by the Beijing-controlled Hong Kong chief executive convicted 14 activists and former elected lawmakers under the draconian National Security Law. Two were acquitted. Earlier, 31 other defendants had pleaded guilty in hopes of more lenient sentencing. The court will announce sentences, which could amount to life in prison, at a future date.
“Hong Kong’s mass show trial lays bare Beijing’s utter contempt for fundamental freedoms and democratic political processes,” said Maya Wang, acting China director at Human Rights Watch. “The Hong Kong government needs to quash the convictions of these activists and fulfill its legal obligations to protect the rights of the Hong Kong people, including their right to freely elect their government.”
In Hong Kong’s largest national security case, the authorities charged the 47 democracy activists across several generations with “conspiracy to commit subversion” under article 22 of the National Security Law. Those accused included former lawmakers, protest leaders, labor organizers, and academics ranging in age from 26 to 68. Many have been in pretrial detention since their arrests more than three years ago, in January 2021.

BL SERIES I’M CURRENTLY WATCHING
* denotes current faves
Unknown & To Be Continued are my two, absolute favorites on this list.
City of Stars just ended. It was sweet, had a good ending.
+++++++++++++++++++
(Not too sure about Deep Night, but I may add Living with Him, At 25:00 in Akasaka, and Grey Shelter to faves—we’ll see.)
Tumblr media
Addendum:
I’m also currently watching *Boys Be Brave (👍 I wrote another, short post, on this series).
On Rakuten Viki.
And now I’ve just found: *House of the Dark Shadows, on GagaOOLala, which is giving off a To Sir With Love vibe, like a costume drama, but this one had a horror backdrop, which is very different for the bl genre. I haven’t started watching, yet, but will post something when I do.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
OK—this post is going to keep growing, because I, also, found another bl series on YouTube, called Blue Boys, on the SukFilm channel (yes, it’s called suk film)
On iQIYI, My Stand-In, episode 1 has dropped.
