i have lies of p and ff 16 installed and ready to go so i can do something mildly enjoyable my last few days before the school/work death spiral starts up again and instead i'm just sitting here refreshing Webbed Sites and watching nothing interesting appear like

I'm also honestly at the point where I'm so freakin tired of their "will they won't they" engagement shizz. It's getting sooo repetitive. I just want her to get it over with if she pushes through with her lavender marriage. It will create a buzz, then eventually the general public (not the swifties) would not care afterwards. Also for my own selfish take, so I can finally get off-board the dream of Taylor coming out at her prime. Not to say that she can't come out as bi while being married, but you know it's gonna be different. I love her so much and will continue to support/watch her journey (not as closely anymore tho if this is the path she's gonna take), but please.. this push and pull.. I want to be free from this. I want to know if I should move on or not.. (again sorry, this is mostly my selfish desire as a fan. She doesn't owe us anything at all.).. Am I a bad fan for thinking that? I guess it's more of a personal choice for my mental health as a queer fan 😭

I hear you anon. I am tired too. I also imagine taylor is tired. I don’t think she expected to have to re-record her masters when she made her original coming out plans. Everything she has done since then has honestly felt like she just said eff it I don’t care anymore and handed over controls to her team and is just doing the re-recordings and just giving the bare minimum amount of effort that she can get away with marketing wise. The energy from her since the tail end of Lover into folklore to the present has consistently been “I don’t know and I don’t care.” It reminds me of when she said she got to a point awhile back where she just needed to step away and she just asked her team to step in. This feels the same way.

So if she does go the marriage route and just stops really talking about her personal life then it is what it is. I feel like she has a plan. Or an end goal that she’s willing to follow the flow to reach. And everyone on her team knows that end goal and is helping her get there.

My digression: She could’ve so easily avoided so much of this discourse by admitting some of her songs were queer but saying she was inspired by conversations with her queer friends and reading queer stories over the years because she wanted to be a better ally. And in doing so she learned that as an ally she can show that love can exist in many forms and through many lenses because it is universal. Like it’s the easiest way to continue to write about things and not have people speculate about your sexuality and also appear to the public to be a full time advocate by telling queer stories in a universal way. Which would push back homophobic fans. This would be perfect especially if she was going with the not sharing from my real life narrative putting her feelings and experiences into fictional characters. Like it is the easiest lie that doesn’t isolate fans and also slows down speculation until you’re ready to tell you truth, if ever. And it also sets her up to secure her beards by saying I didn’t realize why those stories resonated with me so much until I fell in love with a person who just so happens to be a woman. She could say “I don’t like labels because I don’t think love likes living in a box. It wants the freedom to come and go as it pleases. And when it comes I would be foolish to let a label stop me for exploring it or recognizing it and choosing to foster it.” Yadda yadda yadda

MY TOUGHTS ON PART THREE OF RED HOOD BY CHIP ZDARSKY :)

A DC RENDITION OF THE SONG “MOTHER KNOWS BEST” FROM TANGLED.

Well, here we are, three issues in this story of only six parts and i still cant tell if i like it or not. What i know for sure tho is that Zdarsky never read any Red Hood books, i had my suspicions but now i am at least 95% sure.

This Jason has been nerfed. We had a perfectly balanced Jason back in 2005 he was smart, skilled, confident and strategic. Then from 2011 to 2020 (let’s put the fact that Lobdell is trash aside for a moment) Jason was skilled, he had the whole “chosen one” thing going on with the all-castle, and in some moments you could even see him being quick witted and confident. But now in this first half of this story he is extremely insecure, his skill set and expertise is barely there and is presented as just reckless. 

The other day i was talking about how DC treats Jason, how they just can’t decide on who he is, what motivates him or what he wants. His personality is a whole ass mess, it was fine in 2005 and 2010 when Winick wrote him but then Lobdell from years 2011 to 2020 just couldn't decide what he wanted to do with Jason or his relationship with Batman and his rules. After Lobdell finally left Jason was passed around people who either only read Lobdell's work, or didn't read anything from him or didn't take into account Jason's life because their book was set in a future that may never happen. 

What i am trying to say is that Jason doesn't have a personality, and writers don't really add things to the Jason that we “know”, what they do is start his story from zero over and over again. There is no consistency to Jason's character and while you could argue that maybe this new start could be the definite version of Jason Todd/Red Hood i will point out that this nerfed version of him is a major disservice to the character that he was when he was brought back to DC.

It’s simply not nice. 

And in this particular issue the “Jason isn't that good at this whole vigilante gig” is even more pushed because of the whole “batman knows best” bullshit. I am not getting this (anthologies) book with a Red Hood story just for Batman to come in and be like “I am actually good at this job, you know nothing AND i have the moral high-ground”, this is NOT it.

If you are reading a Red Hood story chances are that you will be interested in Red Hood not Batman. 

Oh one more thing, Jason was an excellent Robin. He was kind, smart and skilled. I liked the flashbacks in UtRH because it showed Jason being all that but he also understood a couple of things about the kind of criminals that Gotham had, your common thug is easily scared of the concept of Batman but the dress-ups knew that no matter what they did the Bat would never kill them, that’s what Jason thought about criminals there.

This Robin Jason is treated rather poorly by Zdarsky at times, he feels insecure and inferior to Dick but he is also dismissive of him and the Robin mantle in the first issue, now in this one he is shown as way too reckless (which is kinda bad because it feeds into DCs favorite trope of “Jason’s death was Jason’s fault”) and his stance on “low level” criminals is weird, like it was made clear that drug related criminals are Jason’s biggest issue, thieves were not. 

Those are my general thoughts on this issue and the current state of Jason’s characterization. I have some panels from this issue that i want to talk about in more depth tho, so here we go. 

The issue stars were we left off once more, Tyler defends Jason and when Batman asks who he is Tyler says that he is the Blue Hood, that was really sweet of him, that child is adorable and he needs to be protected. 

Once the Bat distracts Tyler Jason tells the Bat that the man he killed was Tyler’s dad. 

There are a couple of things i want to point out from these panels, Jason feels incredibly guilty, not about killing Andy but about leaving Tyler in a situation that is similar to the one he was left in when his own mother died. He still believes that Andy was not a good man and deserved to be dead, after all he was drugging his own son and was the reason Tyler’s mom overdosed and is now in the hospital. It just hits incredibly close to home for Jason and i understand completely. 

The other thing i want to point out is that Jason says “I know your rules. No killing in Gotham” so, this is (to me) confirmation that Jason hasn’t killed in a long time and that he has been sticking to the Bat's rules (at least in Gotham). Andy (a drug-dealer) is the only person that Jason has killed since the events of UtRH (that are apparently canon in this story because it was mentioned in the first issue). 

Following this conversation the Bat says that he will take care of Tyler’s mother (yikes, i really thought in my last post that Jason was the one who would have tried to get her the help she needed, to me it seems more appropriate if Jason does it given that this is his story but what do I know) 

This is where this Red Hood story transforms into the Batman show.

Not only will Bruce take care of Tyler's mom but he will clean up the mess and shut down the making of the drug all by himself. Jason tells him that he will do it but the Bat tells Jason that if he wants to do it they will have to do it together because there is no way he is letting Jason out of his sight, he made a mess!

Yes, nothing like making the lead character look incompetent at his job. Love that for Jason.

Before the team up starts Batman and Red Hood go to Leslie's place to leave Tyler with her. This is a good moment only because there is a dog involved, well…Tyler, Jason and a dog are involved, best panel in the whole issue? I think yes.

Maybe I have a couple more panels that are my favs in this issue, here they are, a lil bit of positivity in this extra bitter post.

Now I will be honest, I hate Batman (Bruce’s Batman, love Dick Bats he was the MVP) so him saying that he is helping a Robin makes me want to shoot him. You are not helping; you are overtaking, as you do. Never a team player, the Batgod must always be the center of the show.

Back in the new cave Bruce talks to Jason about the drug and who he thinks might be behind it's production. He also makes sure to let Jason know that he is very smart and might be the only person outside of Crane's circle that knows how analyze a very unstable compound…weird flex but okay. He also teases Jason about his detective skills. Yay.

Flashback time! Get ready!

Robin Jason and Batman are at a crime scene and Jason doesn’t seem to be in the mood to play CSI: Gotham with Bruce.

At one moment Jason says “and then we will stomp the guy who did this” (“this” being murder), which makes Jim Gordon (who came to see if batman was done playing Sherlock Holmes) uncomfortable, so Batman tells Jason to wait for him. As Jason is going he sees someone acting suspicious.

Back to present day Batman and Red Hood are visiting the woman that created the compound that makes Fear Gas, the interrogation starts well but because this is the Batman show and Jason is bad at reading people and asking questions we have a scene that shows Jason being a bit too much.

I honestly thought that the first question was fair, but then after they leave the office they were in Batman basically goes on a rant about the things that Jason missed.

Ok, I get it Batman = good vigilante. Red Hood = Incompetent.

Zdarsky is honestly trying to make us believe that Jason hasn’t picked up any of those things, in his years as Robin with Batman AND Nightwing? They both taught him, there is no way Jason doesn’t know the basics of how to read people. Also do you guys remember Jason in UtRH and Lost Days? That guy read people perfectly, how is UtRH canon in this story, did Jason lose his skills in the explosion when he blew up the Joker?

As if that wasn’t enough Batman calls Red Hood reckless after they don’t agree on what to do next.

To this I say the following: Never again make me believe that Jason will willingly work with Batman. They don’t work together and neither are willing to meet each other halfway, even less let the other lead. This makes the idea of Jason following the Bat’s rules and him being part of the “Batfamily” the joke that it actually is.

They don’t work well together anymore; bring duality back to Gotham 2021.

Back in the past where the previous flashback is resumed we have Jim telling Batman that the new Robin seems a bit too rough around the edges. Did Jim ever meet Dick as Robin? I mean, don’t get me wrong, Dick was a sweetheart but he also beat criminals alongside batman every night. It just doesn’t feel like what Jason said was that much of a violent statement or anything, maybe I just don’t get it.

But don’t worry if you don’t get it, because we are shown Robin Jason going after that suspicious man, he is beating him asking if he knows anything about the murder or what exactly he was doing so close to the crime scene when Batman arrives. Through Batman we are told that that man was no longer a criminal, to which Jason says this, “…The guy is a jewel thief! He will always be a thief” and Batman responds “I refuse to believe that. Didn’t I meet you in the middle of stealing the Batmobile’s tires?”

I can’t believe Bruce went full “It’s over Jason. I have the moral high ground” on Robin Jason.

I mean Jason is OOC, we know this, but he has to be that way in order to make Batman look better when compared to a child. DC hates Jason Todd #Confirmed.

It kinda reminds me of that thing DC does with Dick and Barbara, Dick is skilled and smart as long as Barbara isn’t in the room, if she is then Dick will forget to check if there is someone inside his apartment and then be thrown across the room by her and then be told that he sucks at putting security in his living space.

Moving on...back to the present one last time Jason is interrogating a man while he dangles him from the edge of a building (did Dick teach him that? I bet he did.) After getting some information he calls Oracle so he can make sure that the place he is going to is safe. Oracle tells him the she will help him but she did not like the fact that the last time she helped him someone ended up dead.

Now, fair warning, Barbara and Jason big NO for me and after Geoff Johns and his antics in Three Jokers I have zero love for their “team-ups”.

Jason says this, 

Believing in him? Excuse me? Chonky, baby, she only helped you find a building.

All I can do at this point is pray to whichever god or whoever hears that this does not lead to Jason pinning for Barbara. We don’t need it (Barbara doesnt need it), I might be overreacting, I hope I am, but nobody wants that kind of drama right now, thanks.

When he arrives to the place he was looking for I think everyone can tell that it’s a trap, everyone but Jason apparently. 

How on earth does Jason not realize it’s a trap up until it’s too late? Are you joking? Is this a Red Hood story? Are we really doing this? Just how incompetent is Jason in Zdarsky’s eyes?

Freeze…is it Freeze? I don’t care but he is there, he freezes Jason and that’s the end of the issue.

Listen, I wish I could say that this is the worst Jason has been treated and that this book is horrible, I wish but I can’t. I can’t do it because this isn’t the worst characterization or book of Jason, this is still a pretty good story, could it be better? Yes.

I mean this story is written by someone who obviously doesn’t know Jason and that sucks but it still isnt the worst characterization and it messes me up. Three Jokers was worse than this, certain plot decisions in Future State: Red Hood were worse than this (in my opinion) and Lobdell’s New52 RHatO was pure trash (that is the worst book, just horrible please dont read it). 

I am saying this only to make it clear that even tho this issue was painful (mostly if you don’t like Batman) I still have hope that it can turn out to be good. I cant help it, i want and need this story to be good and there is still time for it to get better.

On Qrow: Part II

Back at it again with the white vans an over-analysis of one of my faves! In my last post on Qrow, I focused a lot on how legacies play into his character. How he’s slowly becoming a character who can leave a legacy, but that the journey there is still ongoing. And it always is.

Disclosure, as always, this is all pure speculation, enhanced by my personal opinions, and for fun! :)

Legacies play into all of these characters. RWBY is about stories. Especially in regards to our heroes: specifically Ruby, Yang, Oscar, Juane, and Ren. All of them have character legacies that inform who they are today. Summer, Raven, Ozma, Pyrrha, Li Ren. These are all characters that we know had/have their own motivations, destiny, and ideals--and those echo through the narrative in such grand ways.

Mementos are a big part of these characters’ stories. While not all of these are explicitly physical items that serve as reminders, there are stories behind these shots and the objects or focus of them. Ren killing the Nuckelavee with his father’s dagger, Ruby’s mother and their shared silver eyes.

That’s why taking a look at a particular spot in V4 sparked a new idea:

Qrow is also a part of legacies. But this is one he was upholding. In V6 we saw his realization that his own followed legacy was in jeopardy--the one thing he’d staked his life on--and that continues to inform his faith in his nieces and the younger generation going forward. Because it isn’t Oz’s path he’s following, but theirs. Even if it is is hard letting them go it alone.

Qrow chooses his path at the end of V6, and it’s to help uplift this new generation, so that they can create their own stories in honor of or in spite of the ones that were left for them. It’s subtle, but it illustrates that Qrow’s growth has been in doing the things he believes is right, which is why he cautions James on so many of his decisions, why he seems to hang back, to lash out less, why he seems...well, softer. He’s not drunk, for one. And two he’s not as worried for his proteges. They’re taking fine enough care of themselves. Which is why the emphasis on his connection to Clover is so fundamentally important. Because if I look at it from a storytelling standpoint, we see these two characters express very similar ideals with completely different views of how to follow them. But it’s the story Clover has, the one where he’s a beloved leader and soldier, that impacts Qrow’s future the most.

It’s also between them that we witness one of the most brutal death scenes in RWBY.

My knee-jerk reaction to this scene was that it was the beginning of the Scarecrow “losing his mind”, so to speak, because it has been the pattern of the Oz generals to fall by the thing they were seeking in their allusions. But every time I followed this thought I couldn’t realize why it felt so wrong to me. I thought for a bit that Qrow might turn, the he might really and truly go crazy, but I honestly can’t see it. Why? Because if I’m reading Clover’s character right, we see that the fundamental differences between him and Qtow are what the story’s been pointing to all along: one is part of a legacy he never questioned, while the other has no tethers to his old legacies. Qrow’s placing his faith, quite certainly, on the future. (Also, if you wanted to make a point about the cruelty of reality, you could do it elsewhere. RWBY hasn’t really been that kind of show). And what really hit me as an important factor in this is the final shot of Qrow:

He isn’t angry. He isn’t gunning immediately for Ironwood. He looks heartbroken. He looks as he has all season--quiet, but in control.

He’s also holding onto...that’s right, a memento.

Yeah, back to talking about mementos, I am.

In seeing what was said about their relationship by the writers (communication not being 1:1 with writing/animating--also, again, not looking to discuss the implications of that at the moment, I understand and sympathize), I think I’m beginning to see some of Clover’s decisions, as they’re written, in a completely new light.

He’s cocky. He’s proud. But he’s a good guy. He encourages Qrow. He obviously likes him as a person. And this whole season we’re rooting for them to be good partners why’d you sneak in all that sexual tension though, yo, in whatever way that is. But then it’s made clear that Clover and Qrow both prioritize entirely different things until E12 when Qrow nods to Tyrian and...you know what I won’t even....no, I’m not even gonna poke that. The same different things that ultimately split team RWBY and the Ace Ops up. It’s even in their fights. If Qrow is the “Clover” to RWBY, Clover is the “Qrow” to the Ace Ops. Both the oldest and wisest of the de facto teams. Those fights are set up like that for a reason. Even them sharing shifting focus in E12 is significant. And RWBY wins because the Ace Ops don’t “care” about each other as they do, that’s the whole point that I can see. And so Clover shares his teams’ fate...but, like, way worse.

Clover knows when his orders seem harsh but he doesn’t question them. He’s never been shown to do so. He hesitates, sure, but so does Marrow. And unlike Marrow, Clover isn’t a new addition. He’s older. He’s their leader. It’s his charge they’ll follow. He’s not a character easily changed. We knew who he was the moment he swung in to arrest our heroes.

(Side note: I used to think this was a conspiratorial look that they were planning something. But I think now what I see is Clover noticing and then ultimately ignoring Qrow’s concern. His look hardens back to Ironwood with what I can now see as resolve. It’s why Qrow looks down. It’s almost like he’s hurt.)

So when we encounter this duo in the tundra, after their plane crash, and we see Clover’s character attempt to negotiate with Qrow, we see Qrow’s resolve harden. He isn’t going to follow Ironwood’s orders. He finds them wrong. But Clover is Ironwood’s right hand, he can’t listen to any personal feelings he may have, as Qrow and Robyn do. He even parallels Marrow in his conversations with Robyn, in that they both advise her to follow the law on two separate instances, and she makes it abundantly obvious that she thinks the law is rubbish. But Clover is the law. He’s supposed to uphold that trust. Because he’s entirely loyal. He’s a good person upholding a man he trusts. We don’t know his history, but I assume as the elite of the elite he earned his position. He spent years earning Ironwood’s trust (as Winter says--”You can’t buy loyalty you have to earn it”). And he isn’t a disingenuous character with sneaky ulterior motives. He’s how he’s presented. Point blank, heart presumably on his sleeve. I thought he’d turncoat to join our heroes, but now I see why he didn’t. (Then again, not having all the information is...testy)

Which is why this hits so damn hard.

“Sometimes the right decision is the hardest to make. I trust James with my life! I wanted to trust you.”

I wish I could emphasize that last line more. Clover is making an extraordinarily hard choice. He’s choosing loyalty to Ironwood over his partnership and relationship with Qrow. Because he trusts Ironwood more. This isn’t a character failing, it’s just tragic.

And with that last line I think he feels that Qrow betrayed Ironwood as well and, by effect, him. Because if Qrow had just listened to Ironwood’s plan and given himself up, none of this would have happened. But now that Qrow’s gone rouge, so to speak, he has to see him as an enemy. He has to use tactics to lure him to cooperate. Clover wanted to trust Qrow too. And at the end, like a lot of other trusting partnerships this volume, it ended in a loss of that trust. Also Qrow breaking Clover’s aura after the Ace Op has Tyrian on the ropes is SO. GODDAMN. PAINFUL. And when Qrow sees that Clover’s willing to follow these orders, he probably thinks he’ll follow any, and likely why he sees this as a betrayal. Because he’s used to that which i will discuss next time thank you.

What makes this scene so poignant, what makes me realize Qrow’s next arc is going to tie into what Clover left for him, is because Qrow likely understands exactly what Clover was going through. Once upon a time he defended Oz. He ran Oz’s missions. He put those priorities first. He bet his life on this fight. And in the end he didn’t even know the truth of what he was fighting for. Oz lied to him (Yes, I understand why). Meanwhile this whole season has been built on the prospect of lies. Qrow knows the cost of blind trust. He’s trying to tell Clover to listen to his conscience, not silence it. He’s trying to tell him to do the right thing.

And at the end, Clover seems to do just that by telling him, infuriatingly, “good luck.” Not just in the broader sense, although what an absolute madlad. But in the sense that he understands why Qrow chose that path. Why Qrow made that decision to refuse arrest although I’d be hella pissed about him teaming up with Tyrian! tho Why you done did me like that, bruh?!.

Clover’s telling him, really, to do what Qrow thinks is right. It’s the final note of evidence for my theory. Clover’s spent this season prepping Qrow to have faith in himself, and now it’s Qrow’s turn to realize that potential. It’s a blessing, really, that he gives him. To finish what he started.

And Qrow clearly keeps Clover’s charm. Because he’s carrying on Clover’s legacy too, and the mistakes that may have been made along the way. He has to remedy them. And this isn’t the only instance of a “baton pass” between these two. If Qrow is in search of a new legacy (which, truth be told, might involve bringing Ironwood down), then he needs a new team to do it with. And, as it’s been stated countless times by this show, he isn’t the waste of space he say he is and it is a damn shame he doesn’t have a new team yet.

Which brings me to my final desperate reach point.

“What would you guys do without me?”

The College Society Chapter 1 Part 11

Liam Saturday November 18

Why am I feeling obliged to do this ? After all, Judy was his superior, but not his employer. He owned her nothing. But she had this smile... And she insisted. (The more he tried to find excuses, the more he realised everything happened only because he was weak). (But he couldn't admit it... It was better to say Judy enchanted him). (She kinda looked like a fairy). Anyway, because of her, and because he had agreed to arrange a meeting, he was now in front of the hotel where Raphaël's team was spending the weekend. Liam entered in the hall with apprehension. He asked Nick to come with him, but his roommate had "an emergency". (What kind of emergency, he didn't tell, but Liam was suspecting something like a mission from the geek's brotherhood). (It certainly was a real thing, wasn't it ?). I should focus on my reason to be there. The young lad headed towards the reception desk when suddenly, a cold tone made his spine shiver.

"Finally, Liam Strucker deigned come to see his old friend. I expected you at 11 am, but I guess it was too early."

When Raphaël spoke, it was generally hard to know what he really meant. Was he joking, or insulting his conversation partner ? Fortunately, the freshman knew the soccer player since kindergarten or even before. He had learnt how to interpret his friend's words. And right now, he just joked. That's a good point, I guess. He looked at his former captain, and smiled thoughtfully. Nothing changed. He's still the most perfect dude I ever saw. Ginger, Raphaël had gentle traits and sparkling blue eyes. He was built like a model and he was wearing a white shirt and black jeans, like a real business man. As always, I just naturally feel inferior... He's so impressive. Besides being handsome, Raphaël had this frightening aura which gave him autority over his mates.

"How are you doing Liam ?" asked the soccer player. "We talked through phone once in a while but I nice to see you in person. I heard you had issue with your family."

"Yeah... My father decided to come back and steal everything from my mother. But I hope things will get better soon. What about you ? You look exactly the same as the last time as saw you tho."

"It was during a game I did with my team last spring, yeah, I remember."

Raphaël paused. (Liam honestly didn't remember this match). (And he didn't know what to say).

"In those days, you were still in a relationship." whispered the ginger lad. "Which ended kind of badly."

Liam shivered. He knows. They all know. And they certainly all hate me. After all, it had happened because of his cowardice. He had lost his boyfriend. The young lad lowered his head. He had hoped his oldest friend would judge him differently.

"Some things never change." smiled Raphaël. "I still can read your mind as easily as before."

"Sorry. But you know this whole story just..."

"I'm not blaming you." cut him off his friend. "You weren't ready to face these kind of problems and you did what you thought was the best. Look, I'm free for the afternoon and the evening. Lead me wherever you want, and let's talk peacefully. Maybe I can cheer you up a bit, you look depressed."

Raphaël being Raphaël, it was not an application, but more likely an order, so Liam decided to obey. (And he was happy to obey, as long as his friend didn't blame him for these past problems). (Okay, he also was a bit scared by the soccer player). (How could a not even twenty year old boy be that much dreadful and nice at the same time ?)

During the afternoon, they talked about their respectives lives and Liam relaxed a bit. Eventually, he decided to bring Raphaël to Pasta's Place, where Judy was certainly waiting for them. She even gave me a free day in order to see him. According to her own words, she only wanted to meet him and to serve him. (Liam wondered if somewhere, someone was asking for him like this). They entered in the restaurant, and he looked for her. She glanced at them, became as red as a beetroot, and then decided to come closer slowly.

"This restaurant sounds great." whispered ironically Raphaël. "But I thought you weren't eating that much anymore."

Liam wondered how his friend could be aware of absolutely everything. Then, he realised that as a mutant, the ginger lad bound to know everything. Anyways, Judy finally approached them.

"Hi and welcome to Pasta's Place." she greeted. "Name's Judy, and I will take care of you this evening. Please follow me."

She knew by heart this sentence, but seemed way more stressed than usual. She couldn't help herself from looking at Raphaël. This one smiled cheerfully.

"Thanks you. Liam told me he was working with you. He also said you really wanted to meet me so... here I am, and glad."

I did what ? Judy blushed, and glared at the brown lad. (He honestly didn't remember telling his friend those things). (But he wasn't dreamy for all that...)

"Here are your menu. I guess you're both eating ?"

"Yes, of course." replied Raphaël before Liam even realise the question.

Damn. I'm trapped now. Usually, he wouldn't be stressed to eat. After all, Pasta's Place offered some of the best plate he have ever tasted, and it was 8 pm. However, his friend had this mysterious and machiavellian smile meaning he was ploting something. Sadly, it's not like if I have a choice... When the captain is like this... Liam sat in front of his friend, and smiled while watching the menu. To be honest, the young lad didn't know why he watched the menu. I should have know he would do that. Raphaël ordered for them both, and when Liam tried to stop him, only smiled even more. The fact is, he ordered so much food that Judy herself couldn't believe it. Nonetheless, the brown lad knew what his friend planned. I'm not ready for this... Before, in high school, he had been used to eat a lot, sometimes way more than people would judge normal. With Nate and his ex-boyfriend, they had some of their greatest time with food. Liam had loved the stuffing, the feeding. And especially, he worshipped the food. That was why, after his break up, he decided to stop. At first, his will have been weak, but the pain and the anger won, and he had ceased these stuffing sessions. At least until now. Raphaël got two advantages he took benefits from. Firstly, his natural authority worked very effectively on Liam. Secondly, time passed, and the old reasons faded, which meant his belly was recovering his rights slowly. (His belly was like a second brain he censored for almost one year). (He blamed Nick and his bad infuence for everything). Anyway, when the first plate came, the so-called second brain gurgled with enthusiam, and Liam didn't wait before starting to eat.

"I was glad to see you." stated Raphaël joyously.

Liam nodded slowly, too focused on rubbing his distended belly to answer. What happened exactly ? I'm not even sure... When they had started their diner, he had expected his feelings towards food to prevent him from stuffing himself. But against his will, his stomach had taken the control, and had devoured absolutely everything Raphaël had offered. Once he had realised what he had done, the brown lad was completely bloated and full to the brim. Thanks to god, Judy had not seen that, preoccupied by his former teamcaptain, and they had left the restaurant quickly after he had succeeded to get up. Now, Liam was regreting his lack of control.

"You shouldn't be so concerned." assured his friend. "Be honest with yourself, you enjoyed it. You love it Liam, and you shouldn't refrain from doing what you love."

Of course I liked, but that's the problem. It make me feel guilty. It brought bad memories he thought forgotten. And as much as he appreciated the warmth of being stuffed, the pleasure of eating without restriction, he loathed culpability even more. The ginger lad hadn't this kind of problem. His boyfriend Dan was a loveable college's student, making everything possible to please Raphaël. He probably can't understand how is it to be in the dark side... Since they reached the soccer's hotel, this latter smiled and whispered :

"Don't let your past ruin your present Liam. You're worth much more than you think. And yes, it's an order. Until the next time, take care of you please."

Liam nodded slowly. He promised to make an effeort. Then he looked Raphaël leave to join his team.

Rebecca Wednesday November 22

The young girl got lost in her mind. One week ago, she had won a race against Matthew, but strangley, he hadn't taken offense of it. Way more surprising, he had invited her and Emilio to a party tonight. Of course, she feared an evil plan, and had tried to decline, but her boyfriend had agreed before she could answer. Thus, instead of working with Liam, Colton and Nick on the project, she was thinking about the party incoming. Her sophomore teammate was necessarily planning something...

"Rebbie ?" hailed Colton. "We're ordering the pizza for diner. Which one do you want ?"

She looked at her friends. I didn't say I was invited... Nick was holding the phone, waiting for her answer and Liam one's. For almost two hours, they worked on the mathematic project, but she wasn't focused. Which means Colton and Nick did the whole thing alone...

"I'm not eating here." she replied. "I'll join my boyfriend soon."

She noticed the geek's sigh. They weren't speaking much since she never thanked him. Rebecca tried to follow Emilio's advice and to forget her former friend, but strangely, she couldn't. I still feel guilty for my behaviour... Liam eventually ordered a small pizza, and the geek called. She took advatange of it to stood up.

"As we progressed quite well, I need to go. See you soon boys."

She left them, but felt their stares in her back for a long time. Damnit. I definitely need to make everything clear, one day or another.

The party took place in a community center in town. She joined Emilio at his flat, and they went together. She was afraid of Matthew, but oddly, nothing happened. At start, she had stayed with her boyfriend, close enough to feel protected, but soon, she mingled with some girls, including Laura and Chelsea. Because Rebecca wasn't drinking much, she mainly watched people thoughtfully. Theo attracted attention easily. Surrounded by a bunch of drug addict, himself seemed high and was discoursing about something clearly fascinating. Next to him, a chubby asian was playing music. Not that far, Matthew and some guys were playing beerpong, including Emilio. Is he drunk ? Bob warned her : she needed to stay away bad influences in order to continue her improvement...

"Hey Rebbie, do you like the party ?" asked a cheerful voice.

The black girl turned towards Chelsea and smiled.

"Yeah, that's fortifiying after the classes".

The nurse trainee wore a beautiful red dress highlightning her curves. Rather tall, she was athletic but feminine, with a delicate face. Because they trained together for the University's championship, they became friends despite Matthew's attidude towards Rebecca.

"How are things between Emilio and you ?" asked the blonde. "Some rumors said he's a good lay."

What ? The tall girl almost choked on her drink, surprised. She already had private moments with her boyfriend, but nobody talked about it as openly before.

"Maybe I'm a little indiscreet." laughed Chelsea. "My point is : you two are meant to be together. Trust me, I know things about it."

Rebecca nodded, still discomforted. Besides, why am I thinking about Nick ? She wondered what her friend was thinking about her relationship ? Did he approve ? Understanding she was overthinking, she smiled to Chelsea and joined her boyfriend. Everything I need's here. That's all what matter...

Peter Friday November 24 LAST PART

He's uncatachable, it's part of the charm... The lad observed in the vicinity, but Theo wasn't here. He had just finished his private law lesson, and expected to see his lover waiting for him somewhere. Sadly, he wasn't. Feeling depressed, the young lad headed towards the library in order to study. It can't be true... Damian Nicholas Smith-Carrey had told bullshit. One week ago, this dickhead had assured the swimteam captain was manipulating Pete. As a proof, he had evoked their last night, almost two weeks ago. But I know he lied. Theo'll come back, sooner or later. He glanced Mike, who was surrounded by books. His roommate had started his revision for the exam, way ealier than the majority of students.

"Hi mate." greeted the blonde freshman while joining him. "How are going those review ?"

The football player looked at him thoughtfully. They never really talked about Damian Nicholas Smith-Carrey's speech. Mike knows I'm having an affair with Theo,but said nothing.

"Fine." he eventually answered. "I'm just a little annoyed cus I can't exercise as much as I want while I'm preparing exams."

Pete nodded slowly. To be honest, his roommate used it as a pretext to not train. Since he started to gain weight thoughtlessy, he had become lazier and lazier, and now, he only did sport one time per week or even less. I never intented to turn him into a growing college student, but as long as he don't realise it, I guess it's not a problem...

"So... You and Theo..." mumbled Mike. "For how long are you seeing each other ?"

Pete sighed. He knew this moment would happen. The swimteam captain was kinda popular and well-known in the campus. He decided to be honest, and answered :

"It started at the induction seminar in september. Look, I know what you are thinking : he's in a relationship with Laura, and I'm a fucking bastard who betrayed this lovely girl, but trust me, there's no damage done. She doesn't know about us, and as long as it remain like this, everything's fine."

"I slept with Theo at least ten times in the last few weeks." confessed suddenly Mike. "I didn't even know I was gay, but I had sex with him. However, I guess there is no damage either, right ?"

For the second time in his life, Pete hurtled on the campus like a crazy. He ran towards the pool, and crossed the doors in no time, motivated by a mix of anger, lack of understanding and sadness. He rushed the locker room, where he found Theo and Liam. Fortunately for his broken heart, they were not having sex or whatever. The absent-minded freshman was admiring his swimtrunks, lost in his mind. The captain, in the other hand, looked at the newcomer and smiled. This smile...

"You slept with Mike ?!" yelled Pete. "You cheated on me with my own roommate ?!"

The blonde lad rose in front of the junior, but felt immediatly ridiculous. His lover was way taller and heftier than he had ever been.

"My delicious little kitten, we never said our relationship was exclusive."

His right hand slipped under Pete's shirt and stroked his belly. Stop it. The young lad didn't say it loud. He waited this for too long.

"Your roommate became so cute..." continued Theo. "I couldn't control myself..."

While speaking, he accentuated his caress and came even nearer. Their mouths were so close. The blonde lad didn't find the courage to spurn his lover's advances. I prayed for this. I need him, as much as I can.

"You know I'm uncatachable." whispedered the captain. "You don't possess me. Nobody does. Do you understand ?"

Pete moaned with pleasure. He knew Liam was next to them, now perfectly awake, but a part of him begged for sex. Sadly, Theo stepped back and smiled.

"We made a spectacle of ourselves." he laughed. "You should let us Pete. Trust me, everything's fine. You please me. Mike please me. Nothing's wrong as long as you both please me, right ?"

The lad nodded. An idea grew in his mind. I'll please you even more, you'll see. He left the locker room, entirely reassured. He definitely didn't realise the ascendancy Theo had on him. He had been caught by an hunter without even knowing it.

Raphaël is someone important for Liam since they know eachother well... since birth (if someone wonder, they have a one month difference). Nate is Liam’s best friend forever and Raphaël is his childhood friend if that’s clear ?

Rebecca’s part is quite short, but do not worry people, she will have some stuff happening on her own.

As for our dear Pete... It’s time to say goodbye. He became a feedee, which he like... And idk, his feeder is kind of an handsome jerk ? Don’t worry, we’ll see him around again as well as Theo !

GOTG

My favorite thing about the movie, by far, is the role the Guardians of the Galaxy played in it.  They are my favorite, so that’s not surprising, but I honestly expected they’d be more like guest stars.  They will probably be benched for most of the second film tho, so I guess this makes up for it.

Everything about meeting Thor is absolutely perfect.  The crew’s fawning over him, Peter’s jealousy, “a pirate and an angel had a baby”.  Thor assuming Rocket is in command because Peter is being so childish.  I was laughing so hard for the whole thing, but my favorite moment was when Rocket goes to leave.  Peter has a short aside with him, not unlike their aside when Peter, Gamora and Drax leave Rocket behind on Behar in GOTG2.  Except they part on better terms, indicating how much both characters have grown.

Canon Starmora caught me a bit off guard, but then it’s been a couple years since GOTG2, and now the unspoken thing is now spoken.  That’s an area rich for fanfic to fill in.  I think my main issue was that tonally that seen just careems all over.  Gamora’s flashback, begging Peter to kill her, then they’re kissing.  Then Drax interrupts.  Of all the moments in the film, this one need to breathe a little more to let it happen more naturally.

My favorite part of the movie might be the bit on Knowhere: Gamora’s grief when she thought she killed Thanos, and Peter’s attempt to kill her.  The first GOTG shortchanged Gamora’s decision to move against Thanos and why; at that point she’s just made up her mind.  So I loved seeing a bit more of their family dynamics.  Peter’s attempt to kill her went on a bit too long IMO, but I loved the whole concept.  I didn’t think he’d be able to do it, but he tried! My poor baby.  He’s grown so much.  I can forgive him his ultimate actions, they are understandable and there’s plenty of material to support him.  

Gamora’s too make sense.  I am most upset about that particular death, as her character arc is REALLY NOT COMPLETE.  In my GOTG2 meta I discuss how she’s just barely begun to learn to deal with her emotions.  She’s apparent come some distance since then, since she can tell Peter she loves him. But if this is really the end for her, she won’t ever get to complete her arc and I hate that.  I assume she’s bound with the soul stone and will be back, but I HATES IT PRECIOUS.  FUCK YOU RUSSOS/MARKUS AND MCFEELY IF YOU RUINED THE ARC OF ONE OF MY FAVES.  It would be a really poor choice to fridge her like that, for fucking Thanos and Peter. FUCK.

Anyway, all the Guardians are used to absolute perfect effect within the larger story and with perfect characterization so bless James Gunn for co-producing. Mantis and Drax could have been easily sidelined, and while they don’t really have arcs of their own, they are used to great effect.  

THOR

Thor is my second favorite part.  He zings with everyone, although I didn’t expect the team up of him and Rocket.  It makes perfect sense to send him on a quest, which mirrors his quest to be worthy of the hammer in the original Thor.  It even requires a trial.  And his arrival on Earth with Rocket and Groot is one of the greatest moments ever put on film.

Kinda pissed about Loki tho, even though what we did see of him was perfect.

Other than the Guardians, Thor and Hulk are the only characters who haven’t been in character stasis since Phase 2.  Which is thanks to Ragnarok so BLESS TAIKA WAITITI

STARK/STRANGE/PETER

The Facial Hair bros are not my favorite, but I do appreciate the Stark/Strange pair up.  Their friction is immediately believable and it works. This is Tony’s worse nightmare - not only was he worried he was going to die in space, but now Peter Parker is there too.  It’s really the only climax they could do for Tony at this point, although I’m pretty pissed his character has basically been in neutral since The Avengers.  We’ve seen him try to overcome his fears, try to compensate for them, try to protect against them, and he hasn’t really grown much as a character since then.  He’s struggled, but it hasn’t gone anywhere and it leads him here anyway.  Worse, rather than just be responsible for the Avengers who are at least powerful adults in their own rights, he has Peter who is there because of his actions.

Just cause Tony is a popular character is not a good reason to leave his character spinning until they could get to this movie.  BAH.

Thank goodness for Peter.  I died at his Aliens references.  He lightens up the two Facial Hair bros who would otherwise get too dire.  This group gets a lot better when the Guardians show up tho.  They all get to zing off each other.

I just want Peter and Peter to talk more pop culture.  I really need to write that fucking heist fic for the two of them.  SO MUCH. Fuck.  Anyway, Tom Holland was pure perfection and also used really, really, really well.  

THANOS

I saw praise for developing actual motives for a villain and making him understandable.  Overall I feel pretty meh about Thanos though - he works excellently as a foil for both Avengers and GOTG but independently I don’t think he’d be that interesting.  He’s certainly no Loki or Ego.  It made sense to make this movie his movie, his quest, given where it ended, but I still feel it was a little underdeveloped.  Why go after the stones right this second? What’s he been doing since the Avengers, besides having the gauntlet made?

TEAM CAP

If this movie makes one mistake, it’s who they choose to leave on Earth.  The problem with sending all your funny people to space is that everything on Earth after that sort of lagged.  The only relief was really Bruce reacting to everything he had missed while he was gone, plus whatever lines they could scrounge up for Rhodey and Sam and Oyoke.  The sidekicks do all the heavy lifting but the Earth scenes lack the cohesion of the rest of the movie.  It’s mostly set up and dreary exposition.  If I cut anything out of the movie (besides making every battle shorter) I would cut out Rhodes talking to the Colonel.  That whole scene is WAY too long to establish that Cap is still a criminal and Rhodes was on the other side. 

Honestly, of the many failures Civil War had, one really evident one here is the lack of my ability to care for Vision and Scarlet Witch.  Neither of those characters nor their romance has been developed enough for the importance the plot tries to place on them.  It was present in Civil War but never really clicked.  I think it’s partially the ridiculousness of the very young-written SW in combination with the ridiculous purple android.  The relationship never manages to feel real.

The best part was Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Oyoke all fighting together, and I want my female Avengers movie.

Cap is given basically nothing to do but show up and look cool.  I’m assuming he will therefore have a bigger part in the next movie, but FUCK if I’m not still pissed at the Russos/ M&M for continuing to kick the Stucky can down the road.  As far as I’m concerned, they’ve never reached and real emotional catharsis or resolution that was promised in Winter Soldier.  Poor Bucky literally keeps getting PUT ON ICE as they used CW to set up this movie, and used this movie to set up Avengers 4.  Deeply uncool. 

FINAL THOUGHTS

The ending sucked.  I hate walking out of a movie theater on a down note.  I get where we are in the structure and why they did it and it will ultimately be fine, but it’s not a great place to end the movie.  It was almost as bad as walking out at the end of Deathly Hollows 1.  It would have been worse, had we not known pretty much everyone that dies has another movie scheduled.  I am kind of glad most of the Guardians are gone actually, since if Gamora is gone at least the others aren’t there to mourn her.  Pretty harsh to leave poor Rocket alone tho, as he’s the least capable of dealing with it. He’s going to make a good foil for Tony in the next movie. 

The stinger at least helped.  The nerd boys in the row behind me thought Fury was calling Nova and I had to correct them that it was Captain Marvel.  They were like “Oh, her.” Fucking sexist ass nerd boys can’t get excited for Captain Marvel.  It will be a great move into Phase 4 to have her show up and work with Gamora in the Soul stone to save all these emotional constipated male superheros who just can’t seem to deal with their issues.

Putting Avengers members with the GOTG crew really just highlights how much of Phase three has been treading water to get here, for every Avengers character but Thor and Hulk.  I absolutely blame Markus and McFeely and Civil War for this too.  Poor Tony has been stuck since IM 3 but Civil War could have done a lot more than look cool and manufacture conflict to get everyone in the right position for this movie.   

TLDR: Infinity War is better than Civil War but suffers for the lacks in CW, just as it’s buoyed by the strengths of the other franchises.  And fuck Markus and McFeely.

FINALLY IM DONE WITH THIS OH MY GOD. My SAI crashed while I was finishing the painting one of the images and my stupid past-self hadn’t save literally since I had finished the lineart, which meant I had to start doing the colors all over again. Which sucked. A  L O T .

Nurse Virgil.

Yes, you guys aren’t seeing or reading wrong, I thought for what I wanted Virgil’s future to be in my AU, and somehow the idea of him becoming a nurse on a pokémon center came to me and I was like “????? it??? somehow fits his character in my AU??? And he would look nice af??? Heck yeah, let’s do this.” Honestly, I was thinking about how he does always try to look out for everyone and everything, and somehow the idea of him in my AU becoming a Nurse clicked and i loved it. So yeah I HAVE thought a little about how and when in his path he decided to follow the path of becoming a pokémon nurse and all, will explain better under keep reading like I always do. But one thing I knew I had to give him, was a new “nurse pokémon” like the ones Nurse Joy always have with her in every generation, and then without even thinking much, I went with Audino simply because it’s shiny is purple. Yes, that was the only reason, and is a valid af reson. 

His old pokémon obviously still are with him, and seems like we have a new addiction BESIDES Audino?? my, my how did that little fella joined the team, I wonder?? Perhaps the information is under the read more....~  and warning. It’s DEFINITELY a LOOOONG one. Told you all I imagined the story behind WHY Virgil took this path. :’D

 Virgil ended up taking into the nurse path after taking the job of being Nurse’s joy “errand boy” for a while. At that point in his life, he was actually living with Patton in his daycare, finally deciding to stop wondering the world after something he didn’t even know what was. He did help Patton around the daycare, but still liked to help the old nurse on the pokémon center every now and then. Patton obviously had nothing against it and even encouraged Virgil to do so, always happily saying how he could see Virgil’s anxious and reserved self slowly but surely start to dissapear as he could see the boy slowly start to open up easily to others and trust them a little bit more. The Nurse Joy he helped was already pretty old, having worked on what she loved for pretty much all her life, she was also always happy to have Virgil around even if just for the company, something about how when you worked on taking care of pokémon and seeing trainers come and go so fast, she barely was able to take a break, it was nice to have a helping hand other than from her pokémon. Until one day she asked Virgil if HE wasn’t interested in actually becoming a nurse himself, seeing that without even realizing Virgil DID start to do more than just “get her itens and medicine she had bought from town” and actually helping around with treating the pokémon that trainers would bring. Virgil obviously thought she was joking??? Like, Wasn’t becoming a nurse a Joy thing??? All nurses he had seen in his journey WERE Nurses JOY after all. Sure, he might had helped the poor woman with taking care of the pokémon bringing them their medicine and food, but surely being an ACTUAL nurse of a pokémon center was WAY Different than THAT. And most importantly, he still saw himself as an anxious mess, what if he couldn’t treat a pokémon properly?? what if he messed up and ended up giving the wrong treatment???  Joy answered his doubts. And say that no, while most nurses WERE Joys, it wasn’t actually a “only Joy” thing. Anyone could actually apply and study to become one, the Joys were simply the most famous and best at that, but that didn’t mean ALL Joys were nurses, or that all nurses WERE Joys, she knew the poor boy anxiety problem, but still tried to reasure that he would do fine, it wasn’t like he really needed to if he didn’t want to, it was just a suggestion of her, he obviously wouldn’t be at that boat alone, all his pokémon WOULD be able to help him around, even if he probably would get a new “healing pokémon”. All his pokémon already were pretty much therapy pokémon so, it would obviously be completely fine. But still. The final choice to apply and try out all the studies was his. Virgil didn’t think much of it then, but..the more he tought about it, somehow, the less strange it was??? He even talked with Patton and Logan about it, bringing the deal up as a joke, but then they both actually agreed it could be something he could do??? Again, it took a lot of talking from Patton’s and Logan’s side to make Virgil believe it was something he was capable of, and then a little more on Logan’s side pointing out the positive traits the study would bring, and finishing saying “You might study and finish it with golden stars, but it’s not like that means you ARE OBLIGATED to become a Pokémon Nurse. You can go for the knowledge, but if at the end of all, it isn’t something you want to do, you can come back. We won’t bring the deal anymore and we will support you in your decision.” That Virgil decided to actually go back to the Nurse Joy to ask where exactly he could apply to study, who not only gave him the adress, but also a recomendation letter that surely got him in the Pokémon Nurse university, and eventually finished with golden stars.

Now that THAT Part is out of the way... A little bit more about him once he became a Nurse:

While it is an POKÉMON center, specialized in taking care of Pokémon, he also takes care of trainers who might have been injuired or attacked by pokémon. Like, trainers under effects of a Paralizing Powder and stuff like that.

Virgil as a nurse is literally 30% less anxious, 60% more frustrated and 100% DONE.

Ask him “why there isn’t a hot nurse Joy working here instead of an emo kid”, I fucking dare you.

“Geez, I don’t know Derek, Maybe because the poor woman might have other dreams in mind and don’t want to stay behind a desk wearing all the shit that comes out of the mouth of guys like you??? Maybe she just didn’t want to become a nurse??? I DON’T KNOW DEREK, WHY ARE YOU HERE ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS WHEN THERE ARE TRAINERS ACTUALLY NEEDING TO HAVE THEIR POKÉMON HEALED AND ARE HAVING TO WAIT BECAUSE YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE THAT IS KEEPING ME FROM DOING MY WORK TO ASK QUESTIONS LIKE THIS HUH DEREK?!!? WHY?!?!!?”

Definitely not giving up his dark clothes and make-up simply because he now is a nurse. His uniform is literally more purple-ish than pink, and he only allows himself to wear the white apron.

He honestly just...worries. Which is something he always did. But now he is more worried because of how dumb some trainers seem to be like?? Why would you fight a LV35 Ursaring when your poor Bayleef is only LV17???? WHY Would you look at a dark forest full of wild Vileplumes and Glooms and think “Yeah, I can definitely go through there without a repellent or anything like that, i’ll be JUST FINE.” Seriously. He just can’t take all that anymore. 

All his friends are obviously proud as heck of him for becoming a Nurse, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get frustrated with them as well. 

More than once Patton was bought to the center after being poisoned by hugging a Muk. “Patton, tell me..WHY did you hug him?!?!” “HE LOOKED SAD!!!” “PATTON, HE’S LITERALLY MADE OF TOXIC AND POLUTION WASTE!!” “THAT ONLY MEANT HE NEVER HAD BEEN HUGGED, SO I DEFINITELY HAD TO HUG HIM!!!”

The others aren’t any different though.

Don’t try me Logan. Just do what I say. DOCTORS orders.”

“Remy...what...what are you doing here...it’s...literally 3AM. WHY did you press the emergency alarm?!?!” “...’Cause it’s an emergency???” “... None of your pokémon are with you and you look fine.” “Im out of coffe Virgil.” “...wha-” “there’s none left home! :(” “...Remy, I already told you. The guy that runs the coffe bar here in the pokémon center only comes and open it up at 6:30AM. Go home.” “wait wait! His relationship with Roman still is...strange. They love eachother tho, no one say anything, they probably will realize by themselves. 

Yeah...probably.

He does still love contests and all that, he DID grew up around it. So he often is called to be one of the judges of the contests around, which is something he happily do if he isn’t too busy.

He got Audino from the old nurse Joy that got him to apply in the first place. She was a “new recruit” sended to her, but since she was retiring now that Virgil was taking her place in the Pokémon Center, she decided to let him have her.

Hey, she was purple, he wasn’t complaining.

She also is probably 30% of his emotional control now that he works at the pokémon center, so that is a bonus.

As Joy had said, he was able to keep his old pokémon with him and have them help around the center. Even if neither of them had healing abilities like Audino does, they manage to help in other ways.

Most of the time, they help with bringing itens and medicine he needs, but they also help the trainers around the center to wait for their turn so the whole thing doesn’t become a mess in days where the place is full.

Most people were rather...scared of having a GHOST type like Haunter in a place where it isn’t uncommon to have sick and hurt pokémon. But it didn’t take them long to realize that Virgil’s Haunter was literally the biggest goofball and prankster they had seen. He is AMAZING with baby pokémon and young trainers/children that come around the Pokémon center. There are literally days were schools would bring their pre-school studants to the pokémon center just to see Haunter. Virgil had agreed on it. Haunter definitely is happy to entertain the kids and to help spread that Ghost pokémon aren’t “evil” or something like that.

Mimikyu is ALSO a new addiction to the team, but it’s one that happened BEFORE he went to study. Mimikyu was a gift from one of the other guys to him. Who was that gave him a Mimikyu??? Mimikyu’s type is literally the only and big hint im leaving here. ;)

Mimikyu loves to wear bows, so Virgil always make sure to tie his “uniform” in one. The little guy LOVES it. Mimikyu mainly stays close to Virgil during the day though, helping him more behind the desk than anything. He still isn’t really used to big crowds. Virgil can understand that feeling.
