AHHHH!!!!! Teresa stans unite!!! I would LOVE to help you bc god knows I also scraped the bottom of barrel to find every Teresa related thing I could.

But I want to give a word of warning before delving into the books just for Teresa because I want to spare any disappointment. The Sharpe books, in my opinion, vary quite differently from the films, especially when it comes to Sharpe and Teresa. This is mostly referring to the books written before the films. There's also not that many books with her, so unfortunately there's little to pick and choose from. Compared to the films...definitely lower your expectations for the books.

Teresa's first introduction is in Gold. The backstory she's given in the film is actually happening and seen by Sharpe (the second attack anyways) in the book- and though Teresa's been a partisan, she spends a majority of the book...without spoilers, not doing many partisan things- though we get to see her fight for sure, she's definitely not an equal to Sharpe at this point, and is more of a prize, tbh, though that changes later on. (Some of the covers for the book in the 80's are uh....very different from how we see her in the films).

Teresa and Sharpe's relationship is different from how it is in the films too, though there is love there, the films really give us more time with the two of them, more time to develop emotions and complexity that there simply isn't in the book. Corndog isn't the best at writing romance, and it really shows in the early books. I think the films do a much better job of portraying Sharpe and Teresa as equals and actually have a believable romance, especially with Teresa being in Rifles and the events that happen there. She's already established as a leader and is very capable. Teresa and Sharpe have their first adventure in Gold, and then don't see each other for almost 17 months until Company, (book!Battle, written while the films were being made, mentions Teresa and Sharpe corresponding by letter during that time). It's why I really prefer the films for her and for their relationship, and like the books more for background information.

It's hard to put into words because yes, they're the same characters, but they're also not? I would say their relationship is a lot more loving/fleshed out, as is Teresa's character, in the films. I won't go into it too much here bc it'll be a whole big post lmao but Sharpe, I'd say, drinks more respect women juice in the films than the books (except barring the last half of Enemy which is extremely OOC for FILM Sharpe and I WILL die on that hill.)

But, barring that- there's really very few books she's in, so I'll start with the pre-film books (meaning they were written before the films were made). Gold for obvious reasons, but I really like Company, despite her not being in it so much- it's just a great book in general, and I love that we get to see their wedding! (and Antonia of course!!) Teresa make a very brief appearance at the end of Sword (literally the last two pages) that's a heartwarming moment. She makes a brief appearance in the middle and end of Enemy, the last book she's in chronologically.

However, I would say my absolute favorites for Teresa are in Sharpe's Skirmish and Sharpe's Command. Skirmish is set immediately after Sword, and is a short story, but has very sweet moments with her in it, though I would love to see her featured more. However, it's Command that REALLY steals the show. Everything I've ever wanted for Teresa in the books is handed on a silver platter (at least, to me) and is honestly going to be the closest we see to film Teresa in the books.

Without too many spoilers, we finally get to see Teresa be a partisan and fighting and being brutal and cutthroat. She gets some incredible show stopping scenes that would usually be reserved for Sharpe, and it really felt like a love letter to her from Cornwell. She gets to help move the plot forward, and not just be in the background. We get to see different sides of her, sides that differ from Sharpe and how they clash (in a good way!) Since it's set two weeks after Company, we get to see Teresa and Sharpe be husband and wife and fight alongside each other. Skirmish and Command have the benefit of being written after the films, where their characters, I think, are written better and follow their film counterparts better. I've been trying not to be rude and post spoilers here because I know most people who follow me are Americans and won't get the book until April, but god. I just want to gush about Command so much!!

But a small warning about Command: it's somewhat unpolished for a Sharpe book. Corndog forgets a lot of details (he's admitted he doesn't read his prior works lol.) There are also some details he adds that make me squint but nothing major that I can't look past because I really, truly loved how much she got to do, and her portrayal in the book. She's vicious, she's bloodthirsty, she's combative, she's funny, she's loving, she's kind, she's angry and all these facets and more we get to see of her and ahh!!!!! Now I'm gonna go reread Command LOL.

[little disclaimer that a lot of these are based off of made up lore and ocs on my main account. if youre strictly canon only then i wouldnt recommend this for you. if you’re interested but have no knowledge about said lore, i will give basic explanations]

LAYER 1

Joey Perleoni: joey perleoni is well known as the poster of the anti-piracy videos, who, recently, has involved himself more in the videos. joey in my lore is depicted as mostly emotionless or “empty” with no remorse for his actions.

Mario Party DS Anti-Piracy OST: on the channel, there is pretty convincing fake music for the series, there’s not much else to say about it other than it’s SUPER bangin’

Joey was arrested: in a video titled ‘the police are at my house’, joey is taken in by the police. he is presumably in prison

Luigi is the victim: in all of the videos posted, luigi is the main character, and is often considered the victim of the horrible events happening.

Hex code translations: in the videos, there are several hex codes, which can be translated to several different things. the ones we’ve found are hellsatan, luigimod, thx4luv, watchdemon.jit etc.

Reggie Fils-Amie video: on joey’s channel, his first upload has nothing to do with mpdsap, but rather it’s a video filming a joke reggie made about mother 3. it’s unknown if this is connected or not.

LAYER 2

Luxury station and Quiznos: luxury station is joey’s second account, revolving a few strange videos about a place named quiznos. it’s unknown if this is connected or not

Hudson (the man): in my lore, there is a character named hudson, who inherited the company. he’s considered the person who made the anti-piracy screens, or at least encouraged it strongly. this character is based off of some text in host hoedown, which translates to “hudson - this is not necessary. it will extend the launch considerably.” (also i know hudson is the name of the company but the time i found out it was too late)

“Joey no longer runs the account” theory: there was a theory going around after joey’s arrest that someone else is running the account, since there should be no way he should keep posting. this is probably deconfirmed by now

Joey doesn’t feel much emotion: as stated before, my depiction of joey is that of “mostly emotionless or completely empty”. there is no reason for this currently (it’s kind of a case study at this point tbfh)

DJ Hallyboo is based on MC Ballyhoo: in mario party 8 for the wii, there is a character that bears extreme resemblance to DJ Hallyboo, named MC Ballyhoo. they have the same voice clips used, similar names, and somewhat similar designs. MC Ballyhoo is the host of mario party 8. it is general considered that DJ Hallyboo is a beta version of MC Ballyhoo by fans.

LAYER 3

Electric chair: in the video simply titled “mario party ds anti piracy |”, where joey sits on a chair and boots up mario party ds, a few comments were floating around joking about him getting the electric chair. this hasn’t been confirmed

Hudson and Joey used to be friends: this is mostly outdated now, but there was a joke timeline where hudson and joey were friends in the past. not gonna cover it any further than that because it’s an old concept now

MC Ballyhoo and DJ Hallyboo are the same person: in my lore, the general consensus is that MC Ballyhoo and DJ Hallyboo are the same person, with split personalities. he is also either sentient or extremely aware.

Joey is god: in my lore, there is a mostly bizzare idea that joey is divine and has always been divine. he became “a god” by doing criminal acts, or sacrificing luigi. i can’t tell you if this is canon to my lore or not yet though - it started as a meme, but i really do like the idea somehow.

“Waiter, your finger’s in the soup!”: a mysterious quote with no real meaning that was quoted by joey a couple of times. it is connected to a short comic. nobody has found out what it means yet or why it’s being posted about.

LAYER 4

“Joey does drugs” joke: (TW // DRUG ABUSE)

this joke spawned from something i learned in school. apparently people who abuse illegal drugs gradually start feeling less dopamine doing normal activities over time, due to drug overstimulation. this was jokingly connected to joey’s chronic emptiness and inability to feel anything, with the joke that he does meth or some other illegal drug. it’s also noted that drug abusers are likely to commit other crimes. this is of course, not serious at all.

Joey stole MPDS from mcdonalds: this is a personal theory of mine. mcdonalds and MPDS have absolutely no connection - so why are they attempted to be connected at all? in the video, it describes a demo being sold in happy meals at mcdonalds - it’s a possibility that joey stole the demo from mcdonalds, and doesn’t actually have the full game.

Joey wearing the same clothes as the character: i have drawn joey with a yellow sweater (with orange sleeves) and grey shorts for a while now. in the mcdonalds video, he was wearing nearly the same outfit (with the exception of the shorts being pants). he also has brown hair, which i predicted, but it’s much darker. this is probably a coincidence but it’s pretty freaky honestly.

Techwalker: this will probably be the longest segment in the iceberg and the most lore heavy. techwalker was joey’s old channel. he made extremely different content - mainly of which was just bothering random people on the street and at conventions. he has described himself as a “journalist”, but this is all basically fun and games. these videos are now unlisted and i will not be linking them nor telling you where to find them for privacy reasons. i don’t want to get in trouble. if i find any of yall spreading it around im taking down the post and will probably not talk about this again, you dont want that, i dont want that, nobody wants that really.

in the lore, techwalker is not joey. they are 2 seperate people - but they live in the same body. what this means is that either one can take control at a time - joey is completely numb to everything around him, but tech is a pretty happy go lucky and social person. they have different personalities, morals, names and lead different lives. tech even wears glasses (assuming he has some kind of impaired eyesight), and joey does not.

(this has been confused with dissociative identity disorder. while i don’t mind people interpreting my content in whatever way they’d like, considering this is just fan-lore, this was not the intent. i do not have DID and i don’t want to speak for anyone who has DID.)

the general consensus is that tech is dead, or at least completely drowned out, and joey has taken complete control. joey and tech were practically mortal enemies and polar opposites of each other. (joey constantly being annoyed or uninterested in tech’s hyperactivity, and tech not trusting joey to be responsible or ‘law abiding’)

Lol, welp, since your submission page does say you’re accepting people venting their opinion about something, and other anons you’re getting today have made this topical, I’m going to submit a bit of a frustrated opinion piece to you here- though I totally understand if you don’t want to post it if you think others might take it the wrong way and feel like it’s inciting drama or something. 

So bit of a hot take here, but I hold the opinion that Jikookers who insist that the post SY Final emails from TKers/hetshippers about stopping Jikook’s ‘gay performances’ worked, and that Jikook has ‘barely breathed’ and stopped interacting in public since then specifically because Big Hit won’t ‘let’ them because of those complaints, because they’re now trying to suppress their relationship and please Taekookers, are almost as frustrating as the crowd that starts weeping about how Jikook broke up every single time we go a week without a new moment at this point- it’s just two different forms of baseless hysteria grounded in insecurity. There’s a reason TKers have been widely mocked for coming up with conspiracy theories about how BH has turned TK into a tragic, forbidden love that is forced to stay apart, and I just hate seeing so many of us turn around and do the exact same thing the second we miss the boys for a minute. Now, allow to me explain WHY I think this idea is so silly, if I may

I guarantee that Big Hit gets complaints and demands about EVERYTHING related to the boys, that’s just the nature of overseeing literally the biggest band in the world- and yet people truly believe that of all the things they hear about, they caved to the emailed demands of what was most likely not even actually a full 100 people among BTS’s 1mil+ person fan base? You’re giving what was most likely a double digit amount of TKers (whenever anyone tries to bust out a tweet of people complaining about all the Jikook interactions that night that has triple digit likes, as if that’s proof that hundreds upon HUNDREDS of people were emailing Big Hit, I have to roll my eyes; one, a lot of that those likes probably come from people who have multiple accounts, and two, there’s way less energy involved with hitting like on a tweet than composing and sending an email-I would bet you anything that the vast majority of people who did the former never actually followed through with the latter. Not to mention that even if it actually had been a few hundred, which it almost definitely wasn’t, that’s STILL a completely insignificant portion of BTS’s fanbase) entirely too much credit if you think BH started suddenly declaring how and when JM and JK are allowed to interact just because of them; frankly, BH likely gets WAY more nutso emails from people about dumb things like wanting Tae publicly flogged for vaping or wanting JK kicked out of the group for having tattoos than they ever have about shipping matters- I’d be shocked if this particular issue was even a blip on the radar, or ever went beyond the administrative assistant in charge of sorting through fan emails laughing to themself as they deleted the nonsense.

But hey, let’s say the emails DID make it to the higher-ups at Big Hit and they WERE aware of them- thinking they started keeping Jikook apart because of them requires assuming BH places more weight into a few pressed emails than they do the entire sold out stadium being filled with the sound of hysterical, supportive, happy screaming every time Jikook were acting boo’d up that night, and, uh… WHY would you assume that, lol? Even IF BigHit is hypersensitive to how Army responds to specific ships, which I honestly doubt, I promise you any company would care more about the real-time reaction of a 60000 person true random sampling of the band’s fan base than a comparatively TINY amount of emails or tweets that, for all they know, are just being spammed by the same five people with an agenda across different accounts, and that real-time reaction to Jikook from 60000 random fans was extremely positive. Not to mention how Jikook is more popular than Taekook with both K-Army and J-Army, and it’s only I-Army that Taekook has the edge with; why does anyone think Big Hit cares more about a shipping subset of their third biggest market than a shipping subset of their first two biggest markets, if they’re going to care about shipping at all?

Then there’s the issue where I also think it’s kind of insulting to Jimin and Jungkook to suggest they would have even stood for being forcibly distanced to please some pissy Taekook fans, TBH. I’m not saying they get to live their lives as openly as they want 100% of the time, obviously as Idols there are things they make big concessions about, but Jungkook is a man who has been acknowledging since 2014 that a lot of their fans would be very upset with him if he ever got a tattoo, and who then still proceeded to get 20+ of them because that’s what HE wanted, Jimin is a man who saw fans complaining his shirt was too revealing and he should stop wearing it and proceeded to wear that shirt as often as possible throughout the next few weeks to make a point- you think they’d put up a fight like that for tattoos and clothes, but not for the person that we as Jikookers are assuming is their beloved partner? That’s not even getting into Jungkook being so vocal and so brave with gestures like GCF Tokyo and Rose Bowl; I would bet you anything that same man would not sit there quietly and nod along if an executive tried to order him to stop being seen with Jimin and start playing up his friendship with Taehyung for the camera more often, all just so they could please some obnoxious American teenagers. 

And finally, and what might be the biggest point to me- the ‘Jikook has been dead since then!’ and ‘Something is clearly off between them since then!’ narratives are SO exaggerated by Jikookers anyway, ones who have lost all perspective about how they haven’t been in public much since November, and they both barely use social media anymore, so ALL content from them drops off dramatically when there’s no tour, no promotions, and no appearances happening. Shippers keep complaining that we’ve had barely any new content in 2020, it’s all been stuff that was filmed in 2019 and just released now, waaah, and I’m just like ‘…uh, yeah, and that’s the case for literally every ship involving Jimin or Jungkook, because the three weeks of album promotion we got are basically all either of them have been seen for this year.’ If they were both constantly around and acting affectionate with other members while visibly icing only each other out, then maybe I could get the conspiracy theories, but I genuinely can’t recall any significant interactions either of them have had with other members outside of the clearly planned and scheduled V-Lives- not that this means the interactions in said V-lives weren’t genuine and cute, for the record! But it’s not like Jungkook was just hanging out at Tae’s apartment and they spontaneously decided to go live- Big Hit clearly had these particular lives mapped out and they’ve essentially been part of the boys’ current work schedule. They’ve both made themselves scarce, period, you can’t get ‘fed’ by people who just straight up aren’t making public appearances or using their social media accounts- and when we HAVE seen them, like in the last two OT7 lives, they’ve very much seemed like their normal selves and have been right by each other’s side, per usual. Also, when you look back on years in your mind as a compilation of significant moments, it makes you forget that even in 2018 and 2019, it wasn’t uncommon to go weeks or months between content; your brain just selectively filters out the time in-between that you spent waiting to remember only the good stuff we got those years, and it makes it feel like it was a constant flood of moments happening all at once; you remember ALL of 2018 and 2019 as their respective best dozen moments, forgetting that there was plenty of time in between even then, and that Jikookers frequently threw embarrassing fits about how they had clearly broken up any time their ‘feeding schedule’ was off for a few weeks even then.

And I mean, the face smushing pictures that have already become a Jikook fandom all time favorite moment were post SYF, the chest groping performance of Home was post SYF, them lovingly smiling while singing The Earth Traveler directly to each other and the behind the scenes clip of them looking just as smitten during the recording was post SYF, the extremely flirty and domestic New Year’s VLive that had Jikook fandom dying was post SYF, the video of them flirting about how long they’ve been a unit was post SYF (not to mention how Big Hit deciding to give them a photobook subunit in the first place, or deciding to include that flirty footage in the album release event stream, were both choices made post SYF), the big Jikook feast that was Winter Package was post SYF (and again, BH didn’t HAVE to include all that Jikook footage, and they DEFINITELY didn’t have to write the very shippy captions that one had- they chose to), Jimin holding Jungkook’s arm in the airport was post SYF, them holding hands while walking off stage at the Japan muster was post SYF, Jungkook calling Jimin cute and sexy during the album release and all of their flirting across the table and hugging and touchiness that same night was post SYF, the V-Live where Jimin was being very affectionate with Jungkook and there was that adorable minute long sequence where you could tell how badly they were fighting the instinct to hold hands was post SYF, Jungkook publicly and proudly losing his mind over Jimin the Black Swan reaction video was post SYF, them choosing to let us see them happily riding home together was post SYF, Jungkook stopping dead in his tracks and abandoning the routine to just lovingly stare at Jimin for two minutes straight during Carpool Karaoke was post SYF, the cuddling and spooning during recent Run BTS episodes was filmed prior to then, but BH’s decision to include the footage and post the photo was post SYF, same with all the season’s greeting Jikook footage, same with BH deciding to make the 5th Muster DVD an all out Jikook holy grail, same with BH having the Speak Yourself Japan behind-the-scenes footage be more Jikook than anything else. If that’s Jikook after supposedly being ordered to stay away from each other or to at least ‘tone down the gay’, and if Big Hit’s idea of pulling back on Jikook means still having the behind the scenes footage on the next 4 paid content DVD releases be LOADED with Jikook and basically revolve around their interactions, then call me crazy, but I think things are gonna be okay

BACKGROUND: 

So Slater was born in London, England however when he was younger he moved around a lot with his parents until they settled in LA. Mainly for his dads business and his mum had previously lived there too.

His mum was a travel writer which explains why they traveled a lot, his father runs a few escort agencies + brothels ( nevada only we do it legal here )  and also started up his own pornographic production company / film studio in LA. it would probably now be one of the biggest in the world.  ( think vivid entertainment meets brazzers ) u know FILTHY RICH SHIT.

Both his parents were obviously away quite a lot, his dad ran so many businesses and hmm was hands-on lets say but the household was pretty calm when he was fairly young. his mum was super attentive and loving and just such an amazing role model and always wanted to take him with her to show him the world when she had to leave. i think he definitely was a mummas boy.

at about 8/9 however would’ve been when things kind of came crashing down for him. he really caught his dad cheating on his mum w/ one of the porn stars he hired from the studio. His dad would’ve really asked him NOT to tell him mum because it would break their family up. obviously, slater was like terrified of the chance of losing his family so he just pretended nothing ever happened.

he was so conflicted because he was keeping this huge secret and he had so much guilt but he didn’t wanna be the one to ruin things. Like his dad basically used him as a cover like expecting him to lie for him for a long time. it would’ve really eaten away at him. like it would’ve not been a one-time thing, but slater was in denial for sure.

i think one day slater would’ve slipped up in one of his lies for his dad and his mum ended up fighting out what happened and it was such a mess. it would've led to their divorce and god that was.. SOO messy. they defs didnt have a prenup and like the custody.

I think lowkey he was miserable being with his dad, he had so much resentment and sadness there. he would’ve been okay being with his mum the whole time.

His dad was really the type of parent that would use his kids against each his ex wife like they would use slater to pass on messages and being like no u can’t have him for that day etc etc And not taken slater into consideration.

his dad though really tried his absolute best to bring his mum down which was sooo sad to see, like watching her get put through the ringer by his dad and she just became a bit of a shell of who she was, because he obviously had more than enough money to do it and didn’t want her to see a dime of it even tho he.. RLLY BE LIVING THE HIGH LIFE.

slater would’ve just been back and forth between them both up until he was about 15 when his mum, unfortunately, passed away due to drugs. which was SO UNEXPECTED.  i think there was definitely a lot more to it, like she definitely was self-medicating to help go through the still pending divorce. which would’ve lasted years. 

anyways losing his mum devastated slater because truly she was like a best friend to him, she was. he always enjoyed the weeks at his mums more than his dad and now he knew he’d be stuck there.

he fights a lot with his dad still about everything that happened and what he did, he blames him for it and putting a LITERAL KID in the middle.

anyways though since the separation his dad had like a myriad of “ girlfriends” around who were probably all young enough to be like a step sibling tbh. he never took to any of them until his stepmom. who shockingly he actually really likes. shes one thing keeping his family together atm.

 Anyways as you can imagine slaters dads business was huge and his dad is truly raking in the money but slater has always felt uncomfortable spending or even benefiting off it which is why he’s extremely secretive considering he knows where it comes from and he doesn’t exactly support his dad let alone he doesn’t want to have to explain that to people and get them looking into his family.

his father has really tried and put up this front though as if he’s a huge family man now and is conservative and super religious and smh that pissed off slater to the max. he’s like that dont make no fucking sense..

 when he high school hit though they were going to country clubs all that shit slater hated basically. he truly didn’t mind acting out just to spite his dad knowing hey your a family man what are you gonna do about it??

this drove his dad so crazy and only meant more rules were put on him, it was about the only attention his dad gave him.

when hey fight though its really wild, you know slater throws it in his dads face basically just some fucking pimp and exploits people and he’s never gonna do that and he’d rather have nothing than follow in his footsteps

i think his dad has been fined multiple times for some shady shit going on in his businesses. plus its been common knowledge in the depths of the industry they heavily provide them w/ alcohol drugs etc. probably has had an issue with the treatment of the people hes hired. lawsuits.  there's more under the surface that even slater doesnt know.

there would’ve been a bit of a scandal where his dad employed one of his dumbass country club friends daughters aka someone even slater knew to star in one of his adult films

 but regardless like he knew he really was fortunate he lived an extremely privileged life, like he would be set for life, could sit do nothing and its good. he just never had a huge interest in it unlike his father who really always said that he would take over everything someday and it would turn into a huge family business. and he was like yikes someone come tell him.. no thanks. 

 His dad and him definitely had a rocky relationship after his moms death, he  didn’t parent very much and just left his stepmom in so many uncomfortable situations but honestly

 He saw her more as a friend though then a mum but she was the best parental figure he’s ever even had. She’d genuinely try so hard to make sure his dad was acting like one like telling him he’s going to his sons gigs or else even though slater knew his dad would come for 2 seconds to appease his wife then leave.

But growing up he’s always been super careful of who’s around him and who he lets into his life probably as a result of how secretive his family has always instilled in him to be.

 Like his dad keeps saying we’re family we come first, and he never wanted slater to be sharing that with people about what they did.

 But he has such a resentment to his dad, like he thinks he’s a mess he has a wife he doesn’t give a fuck about a son he doesn’t see, he does god knows what he just is so convinced he can’t turn out like him ever. 

I think people genuinely think he must not come from money because the amount of people who have ever met his parents or seen his house is a handful if that. 

Like he’s always hanging out at other people’s places and just he’s never been really extravagant unless its to purposely spite his dad yikes. that comes from anger.

Like he really got himself a job even though his dad said he could come work for him just cause he was like yeah I don’t want to run ur dumb company and make money off it u pos? 

His dad has definitely been investigated a few times for shady practices. slater definitely started looking into law for that reason, like he genuinely thought he wants to actually be able to put guys who screw the system and own huge corporations and think they can pay outta anything in jail.

meanwhile his dad thought great a lawyer who can defend our family business smh so he supports him He has no clue slater would rather take him down.

PERSONALITY

losing his mom AND one his best friends showed him that he needs to really do everything he wants to and in that moment which does make him selfish at times 

i think he has abandonment issues, i think like when  his best friend who was kinda the reason he came to lex, happened to pass away also triggered that again ( TBD WHY im leaving this open for plots ) and that really shook him all over.

he really almost feels cursed at this stage.

he was pretty sheltered tbh because his dad wasn’t trusting AT ALL and at first was homeschooled until High school so he didn’t exactly grow up outgoing or being able to have many people at his place or tell them about his life.

i think theres not many people who know he’s related to his dad business, even tho his dad business iS HUGE and legit is his last name. and hes like yeah ha coincidence right??? not my dad at all.

He’s super fucking blunt though like he may be secretive with his personal life but his ass does not hold back which has gotten him into way too many problems. 

He just feels like he grew up lying about so much, his dad was like we don't want people taking advantage of you if they find out who you are and use things against me.

born and raised in wilmington, delaware on the du pont family ranch, reese learned how to ride and compete on her family’s thoroughbreds. she’s a seasoned equestrian who typically competed in eventing and throughout the years had accumulated a series of ribbons and trophies between dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. definitely was a horse girl growing up and tbh still is???? definitely not the type to eat grass anymore BUT if given the chance she will not shut up about them.

a veterinarian before marrying into the du pont family, reese’s mother had their ranch doubling as both a home and veterinary clinic where the kids would help with the animals and keep them company. this caused reese to develop a soft spot for them, one that contributed to her going vegetarian at the age of 12 and eventually vegan at 15. it was also this love of animals that led her to wanting to help the environment they lived in and so her parents put her in girl scouts and eventually her love for the outdoors would cause her to join steinhardt’s outing club.

while her mother, eleanor, also helps out with the du pont family business of breeding thoroughbreds as well as run her clinic, her father, pierre, is a chairman of dupont, a conglomerate who got its start in the black powder market before expanding into chemicals for agriculture, materials science, and specialty products.

he was the type to have HIGH expectations for his family, expectations that reese never met. not that she cared to. definitely not a daddy’s girl, she’ll be the first one to call her father out for being a pompous douche straight to his face. probably quoted this to her father during a thanksgiving toast of “what are we thankful for this year”.

the black sheep of her family, even at a young age she could be found stirring up some trouble and almost always dragging one of her siblings or cousins along with her. a rebellious child who didn’t like being put into a box, she lived in a fantasy world of whimsy, often playing make-believe much to her father’s chagrin. she believed in all things fantastical from fairies to mermaids and while pierre tried to stifle those thoughts, they stubbornly remained.

even through her teenage years she’s held onto the firm belief that barbie lore is real. no one knows if she actually believes that or if it’s all of the drugs and her love for the movies getting to her head, but when confronted about it she will always be adamant that it’s a legitimate form of history.

speaking of history, her concept of it is slightly skewed?? def has weird beliefs of what communists are?? like you’re an android user??? suddenly she thinks you’re a communist????

i guess now would be a good time to preface that she’s dumb. stupid. an idiot. the list goes on but when i say she’s lacking brain cells… i mean it. the definition of head empty, she probably has a bunch of rocks where her brain should be sdfgh. but really, she can be innovative when she wants to be but academically she just doesn’t care to do well. in high school she ditched classes more often than not and was probably the kid smoking under the bleachers.

but where she lacks in intelligence she makes up for in brawn??? def the brawn over brains type who was a jock in high school. competed for her school’s equestrian team but also was on the fencing and archery teams. she once begged to be put into archery lessons after seeing the princess diaries 2 and fencing just came along not too soon after. she also used to run track and play soccer but those two sports ended after her senior year of high school although she probably still plays for the steinhardt’s intermurral league as well as any athletic competitions her sorority, tri-zeta ( zeta zeta zeta ) enters.

definitely the jack of all trades type except she’s passable at a whole bunch of things but good at none of them. probably can change a tire but it’ll need to be changed again soon. can bake a cake but it’ll be a little dry. the list goes on. she’s just very curious and picks up a lot of things but gets bored of them easily so she changes to the next thing.

okay i know i said she could bake a cake but she really…can’t. like with supervision she probably could but she’s impulsive and following directions for that many ingredients??? impossible. she just gets tempted to toss everything into a bowl and wing it and she does that every time. she can however make rice krispy treats. especially if they’re suppose to be edibles dfghj. but ya, don’t ask her to cook bc she can. not.

a stoner and overall drug connoisseur, she’s probably most known for being that kid who forgets to bring their backpack to class but don’t worry!! she remembered her juul!! has a collection of juuls on her person at all times. definitely that party girl who shows up hungover to class whenever she did bother to show up.

god someone pls try to start a fight with her. she’d either pat you on the head and ignore you OR go feral and just…foam at the mouth and bite you. probably claims to have gingervitis which is where she like…sprays vegan whip cream into her mouth and just… attacks you. for fun.

WOW ALMOST FORGOT but she’s a big larper!!! loves to go to the ones that are historical-esque where she can be an elf ( because she has a collection of elf ear tips dfghjk ) and acts as a knight/ranger by using her ACTUAL fencing, archery, and equestrian skills. she learned sindarin ( elvish ) for this but also she’s a big lord of the rings fan in general so it just worked out. her character’s storyline is her acting as her cousin, taay’s, protector but she has been known to enroll in a few competitions regarding any of her three skills.

currently selling moonshine alongside her roommates of trap zeta ( also known as the residents of the moonshine & roses subplot ) and so if you saw her running around with stolen pressure cookers, that is why !! making your own alcohol is illegal, but selling it??? even worse so they only sell it to trusted customers and anyone vetted by their usual customers. they probably have secret passwords and shit just like the prohibition period.

speaking of trap zeta, with the exception of fraternities on greek row, they throw the biggest parties. their jungle juice??? fire AND strong but also, they keep it in like....these dispensing chugs with a key so the only ones with access to fill them up or trap zeta themselves. they also have a stripper pole ( or two ) around their living room so like...ya get lit, get twisted, go off ig.

let it be known that their sorority, tri-zeta, is actually known for their stellar amount of community service but after the residents of trap zeta moved in together their sophomore year, the rep for partying started to increase and that’s why the home of muse 46-50 is nicknamed trap zeta. reese has probably been sent to standards way too many times and only got in and is still in bc her mother is a very generous alumni of steinhardt’s chapter of tri-zeta. 

a broadcast communications major, she’s a social media intern for steinhardt’s barstool page but most importantly has a whole tik tok account alongside her roommates dedicated to their college antics. think the hype house except it’s not pg-13 dancing and rly just their crackhead, drunk antics. might eventually make a playlist of tik tok’s that are probably posted on their account, we’ll see.

okay so you know the whole exposing of secrets from last semester??? reese doesn’t usually get mad but rn she Big Mad. like not only are they be scrutinized by the dean but their sorority is too and suddenly tensions are high between tri-zeta bc if trap zeta gets caught they all suffer and their chapter will be shut down and it’ll be a whole ass mess. atm she suspects their customers and even their somewhat rivals, the drug dealers of the ludes plot, but does she suspect anyone from the house??? no not rly

Hi, thanks for the ask! Since the number of WIPs I have are well into double figures, I’ll probably just choose a bunch of random ones for these out of the ones I’ve got on my computer.

2. Post a line from your WIP without context.

Once they had returned home, he had wanted nothing more than to head up to his room and hide, but his uncle’s iron grip on his upper arm pulling him into the drawing room had thwarted that wish. He hadn’t dared fight against the man. Uncle Cary had made it quite clear upon his arrival back from school that he expected to be obeyed in all matters, and George knew his future was far too uncertain to risk provoking his only remaining family member with displays of defiance. 

4. Describe the setting of your WIP.

Hmm, I think I’ll go for my JS&MN AU for this one, an extract of which I have posted here. So this is basically an AU set in the universe of the novel Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell--for anyone who might be unfamiliar with it, it’s a book (and a pretty decent TV adaptation) set in a regency England where magic was once frequently practised but has declined after the Raven King, a medieval magician who conquered the north of England with a fairy army, left his kingdom behind to return to Faerie. The fic is set in Poldark’s s1 timeline, so about fifteen/twenty years before the events of JS&MN canon, featuring Dwight, Ross and Francis as magicians, George as a fairy nobleman from a neighbouring Faerie kingdom, and Elizabeth as a magician’s wife whom George ends up taking an interest in.

6. Search for the word “dream” in your WIP. If you find it, paste the line and explain the context.

I haven’t been able to find it in any of the extracts I have on my computer, but I’m sure it’s probably there somewhere in one of my notebooks. Unfortunately the majority of those are in a box over three hundred miles away so I can’t really check through them ha.

8. What is your biggest challenge?

Actually getting anything finished. Honestly, it depends on the individual fic but for a long time it’s been writer’s block. My undergrad dissertation took a lot out of me and I wasn’t really in the mood for writing for a long time afterwards. S5 airing gave me a bit of a kick up the arse writing-wise though, so I’d say my biggest challenge at the moment is trying to figure out where everything goes in my super long post s5 AU where George gets shot by Hanson. At the moment I’ve just got loads and loads of random bits with only a vague idea of what order they go in and how they join up to each other, and it’s getting to be so long I just keep putting off planning it out properly. Also finishing that last chapter of The Cornish Way damn I can’t even remember when I last updated that I feel so guilty about it ha.

10. How would you describe your WIP’s narrative style?

Well, as I’ve already mentioned I have a whooole bunch of WIPs, but I always write in 3rd person (1st person grates on me, both reading and writing, for some reason--I don’t know why). I’ve got several multi-chap fics in the works, some short, some long. Most of my shorter multi-chap fics tend to alternate between Elizabeth’s POV and George’s, but my long post s5 AU will feature the majority of the characters’ POVs at some point, depending on when they’re needed, though since the fic is George-centric, his perspective is the main one. When it comes to my one-shots, they’re usually either from George or Elizabeth’s perspectives, sometimes both if it’s a particularly long one. I tend to lean towards using Elizabeth’s POV for one-shots for some reason, but there’s a fair few from George’s as well, and a couple of angsty ones told entirely from Valentine’s perspective.

12. Which character do you have the least in common with?

Since my post s5 AU includes Merceron, Hanson and Dr Penrose, I’m glad to say that I haven’t the slightest thing in common with any of those three. But if we’re talking about a main character, I’d say probably Ross. The only thing I have in common with him is a tendency to get fed up at parties ha.

14. Have you chosen birthdays for any of your characters? If so, when are they?

Not really--tbh, I’m not sure how many of them, if any, were given birthdays by WG. I tend to headcanon George’s birthday as being in October, but that’s about it.

16. What would your characters be for Hallowe’en?

Well, I’ve got a couple of WIPs set in the modern era which this could work for, but since one of them is a modern witchcraft AU (in which Elizabeth, Caroline, Demelza, Morwenna and Verity live together in Truro as a secret coven of witches, Francis is a melancholy ghost who haunts the building and they’ve never been able to exorcise, and George, their landlord’s nephew, is their baffled neighbour who only puts up with their weird shenanigans because he has a soft spot for Elizabeth), I guess that’s appropriately Hallowe’en-y ha. For that AU, I reckon Elizabeth would probably dress up as something kind of classy, like as an Ancient Greek lady or a medieval queen, something like that. Caroline would dress up as a witch, I reckon, for the sake of irony (Horace, of course, would have a complementary costume :P). Verity, I think, would make a cute angel, and one of those wood nymph/woodland fairy costumes would probably suit Demelza. Morwenna might dress up as a Hogwarts student or something like that, and Francis insists that since he is an actual, literal ghost, there’s no need for him to dress up. George, on the other hand, absolutely does not do Hallowe’en, but they still manage to drag him down from the flat upstairs, put a pair of little Devil horns on him and make him watch scary films with them. Which he hates every minute of. Absolutely. Totally.

18. What’s easier, dialogue or description?

It depends, but I generally find description easier than dialogue. When I have dialogue-heavy scenes to write, I generally write them out in my notebooks basically in script form so I can figure out where the scene is going and once that’s out of the way, I find it much easier to add all the description in around it rather than having to constantly stop to figure out what the characters are meant to be saying to each other.

20. Post a brief excerpt.

So there’s a whole load to choose from, but I’ve decided to go with this one, which is from a ghost Elizabeth AU I’ve been working on ever since the end of s4 and have been really struggling to get on with because there’s so much bloody angst in it ha :--

The days leading up to Christmas dragged slowly on, and with each long hour that passed, George found himself regretting his decision to allow their initial plans for the festivities to go ahead with ever increasing certainty. The Blameys were neither unkind nor insensitive—quite the opposite in fact; their presence seemed to restore some faint but much needed cheer to Geoffrey Charles, and the company of another boy near his own age had restored Valentine to a fraction of his usual liveliness—but he, who had never been a friend to Verity, and was not well acquainted with her husband or stepchildren, felt the constant pressure of their scrutiny, alongside the horrible awareness of his own inadequacy as their host, whenever he found himself in their company. Verity, in particular, had taken to sending him at frequent intervals, whenever she saw him decline a meal, or else stumbled across him staring up at Elizabeth’s portrait hanging above the mantelpiece in the drawing room, what he had come to refer to in his mind as Looks. Verity had always been a kind and well-meaning soul, but there was a distinct pitying quality to those Looks which he had come to both resent and despise. He could have far more easily borne it if she had scorned his conduct. Her pity, however, wounded what little care he could summon for his pride in the wake of Elizabeth’s loss—he had no need to be reminded of the wretched creature he was fast becoming every time he met her gaze.

Finally, after what seemed like an age, the morning of Christmas Eve came. It had snowed once again during the night, and upon seeing the unblemished blanket of white through the window upon waking, Valentine and young master Andrew had rushed outside, accompanied by the Blameys Senior and Junior and Geoffrey Charles, in order to enjoy it. As the young Esther, whom it had not taken George long to discover was somewhat reticent in nature, had elected to break her fast in her room, that, unfortunately, left he and Verity alone together at the dining table, save for little Ursula, who was playing quietly and contentedly with her own feet in her cradle beside his chair. At barely a few weeks old, however, she was not quite an accomplished enough conversationalist to distract Verity from engaging with him. With a barely audible sigh, George reached for a slice of toast despite his lack of appetite in a vague hope of fending off another Look which he was sure was on the verge of rearing its unwelcome head above the horizon.

“I am glad to see that the boys have regained a little of their usual cheer,” she spoke up suddenly, causing George to pause halfway towards taking a bite out of his unwanted toast; a glance her way confirmed that, despite his best efforts, he was being treated to what could only be described as a Look. “It is a terrible thing to lose one’s parent, no matter one’s age, and certainly not a burden one should face so early in life.”

Yeah, of course, I’ll still be doing stuff with the blog, lol. One, this is my business, like it’s my job, so I can’t just quit because BTS integrated higher timelines (which they’ve done like twice now anyways, lol). They’ll still exist along with a million other celebs/idols that people might have an interest in seeing readings for. The goal of the BMP is to “help people broaden their perception of themselves and the world around them by presenting a deeper understanding of the people they look up to and admire,” and that doesn’t just fall under BTS.

Plus, I still have like a whole bunch of different solo readings I still need to do for the guys, and no matter what I’m always going to like lowkey be 👀 at BTS because their soul shit is insane, so you know, I’d say there’s still plenty to work with.

Anonymous: What you said about Taehyung not wanting to let people see him cry…I felt that in my capricorn rising soul! That’s why I get so upset when they air footage of him crying because I know he doesn’t really want us to see him like that most of the time. Especially about the things closest to his heart, like when he cried in BV in Malta after his grandfather’s death. That was so deeply personal and we shouldn’t have seen it. Does Tae give them the ok to air stuff like this or does it upset him?

Just to clarify, the answer I had for Hoseok was sarcastic, lol. Things do affect him quite deeply, but he pulls some superficial Aquarius shit and pretends it doesn’t, wears that stone-cold outer shell like a boss. I have no doubt that he can see beyond plenty of things when it comes to hate, but I mean... he deadass didn’t go on VLive for like 78 years because people were being dickheads, you know?

And yeah, when it comes to what they show in films/official productions like that I assume they don’t really have a choice. Like any reality television show, you sign off on cameras being there in your face no matter what. You literally sign away your right to be like, “nah, I don’t want to be filmed right now,” or “don’t put that in.” I’m sure, especially now, there is a lot of respect and care applied to what goes into these productions and the staff tries to find a nice balance between showing intimate sides of the guys and still maintaining their privacy and sense of dignity, but they also work with other producers and company heads who know fans want to see that shit even if it doesn’t make them happy as it strips that wall between them and their idol down even more.

Yeah, Yoongi has really been living that 90-year-old-man lifestyle for centuries, lol.

And yeah, I don’t remember what reading it was that I talked about it, but Yoongi and Namjoon have shared every lifetime together. Every single one. However, there have been somewhere one was acting as the other’s Spirit Guide. So, they existed together, worked together on a soul level, but where not consciously connected. I’ve only every seen one clearly and it was one in which Yoongi was acting as a Spirit Guide for Namjoon, and Yoongi looked like a freaking ghost fish swimming around Namjoon’s shoulders. 

When it comes to conscious level connection and physical contact, there was no one from the soul body present in that lifetime that was focused on in Yoongi’s reading. Like, I’m not even sure if any of them were existing physcially in that space at that time. Considering how closely connected Yoongi was to external and internal guidance, I would assume that if they were present, they were present as Spirit Guides but stayed at a distance. Like, they would have guided him but in a way where Mr. Pisces Man wouldn’t remember the soul body and instead focus on his personal development, which seemed to be a major factor and purpose in that lifetime.

35. How in-tune with their native element are your dragons? Does it vary? If you have any dragons that aren’t, why is that?

OH yes does it vary. I have some dragons who are very elementally inclined (no mistaking Tamarind for anything but a Nature Boy), some who outright refuse their birth element (Zaffre is native to plague, but uses lightning magic), and many who are just neutral. I’d say the majority of my dragons don’t have any sort of magic or strong affinities. But the ones that do have magic often have powers that don’t have much to do with their element at all. As for why, I guess that’s just the way it is haha. Zaffre just never jived with Plague. And same with Bergamot, who hides his plague eyes with green goggles... And Kyurem has light eyes, but they’re as icy a dragon as it gets! Moraine doesn’t have magic at all, but she still relates more closely to her family’s ice roots than wind. and Gushers is wind too, but she is ALL about the arcane, it’s what interests her the most. i could list more but i think that suffices haha...

42. If your clan leader went off the deep end, who would stand by them no matter what?

Oh well, my clan has four leaders: Tarragon, Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind... them going off the deep end, not totally sure what it would entail omg. They’d probably all try and stand by each other though, though if they were doing like, truly horrifying stuff the others would do their best to try to figure out and ultimately stop the situation dfadsfsdg otherwise they’d do their best to be understanding of why one of them was suddenly so distraught or whatever? i think i good portion of the lair would want to like, help too. (though it also would depend on a lot of factors.

I guess if you want some more specifics, Ingot would be the most likely to stick by Moraine? Ingot really respects and trusts Moraine and they are very good friends! Kyurem of course would stick by Zaffre, they’re partners and have known each other for like 40 years by this point and have gotten closer than ever the latter half of that. Tamarind has had a bit of harder time getting support from dragons other than Tarragon and Moraine, and his heaps of exes in the lair doesn’t help, but I think I’ll say Hallow would be most likely to stick by him. They’re exes too, but it ended amicably and I think of anyone in the lair, Tamarind probably helped Hallow come to terms with the loss his charge the best, so Hallow has the utmost respect for Tam. And lastly, Tarragon... Tarragon is so lovable, friendly, and gentle that finding dragons in the lair that like him is as easy as it gets...but truthfully he isn’t super close to a ton of them outside his fellow leaders. I think the one who’d be most likely to stick by him is his younger brother Paragon, who throughout their whole lives the two have always done what they could to support each other, even if they find themselves at odds sometimes. Paragon isn’t the most popular dragon in Florabrisa, but Tarragon is always there to defend him anyway, and Paragon would definitely return the favor should something strange ever happen.

43. How has your clan changed since it started? This can mean when you first joined or in-lore.

Well, in lore, the clan’s certainly grown a lot in the 20 years it’s been around! It’s still a small community but it’s bustling! The gardens of Florabrisa will always be its major feature, but it has a lot more on offer now.It’s always been pretty agrarian, but there are much more food options now than there used to be. Crystalspirit has grown his art gallery considerably through the years and now with Ardest joining the clan, there could be a local art scene coming... I also wanna get some theatre in, Florabrisa definitely has one and i think Tabbagh is gonna be a big player, they love the stage. Ricotta too honestly, she’s very theatrical. and Bomoseen will probably be trying to introduce film to the lair (though they currently don’t have the tech for it. Bom needs to talk to Xana.....)

And out of lore, I think I still have more or less the same concept as i did at the start! The biggest change might be that at first Tarragon was the only leader, but I later decided to elevate Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind to be his equals. Tarragon leading by himself just didn’t really make sense to me haha. Also adding the swamp was a pretty big deal! Picked up some many swamp aes dragons this year haha... Also, initially I did think that breeding didn’t have to be a relationship thing, but admittedly I’d done absolutely nothing with the concept so that’s probably not the case anymore dfafd I’ve definitely aged the lair too, like a lot of dragons I initially saw as kids have grown up now :`) i do wonder how much further along i’ll take the timeline, since I do have some dragons in my lair who lorewise intend to leave Florabrisa within a few years. I could probably stick them in my den, or just let them stick around anyway...?

45. How competent would your clan say your leaders are? How competent are they really?

Tarragon, Moraine, Zaffre, and Tamarind have been leading for almost 20 years now, so I’d say the clan thinks they’re in good hands haha. All four leaders have their different personalities and roles and balance each other out in many ways, and they all take the clan’s needs very seriously and the dragons of the clan feel respected by them! They do what they can for the clan and get the job done as best the can, so yeah the clan would say they’re very competent! And I’d say so too, they are good bunch together :D

49. Who’s the “clan mom”?

Ooh, there are a few dragons who could fit the bill, Moraine being an obvious one. Ricotta probably fits the bill even better than her though! Ricotta will really go out of her way to make sure dragons are getting properly fed..or at least eating plenty of pasta haha. She is incredibly caring for the wellbeing of the lair and does what she can to make her fellow Florabrisians happy and blessed by her presence haha. Ricotta admittedly does tend to pick favorites though dasfsda And there’s Clash too, who is very nurturing and along with her wife Antikyra has taken care of younger dragons of the clan for awhile now! Many of them definitely think of the two as parental figures. The list of dragons under 20 years old who have called Clash ‘mom’ is probably quite long.

53. What dragons make up your most disgustingly cute relationship? What makes them so cute?

OH man lots of strong contenders here. I think Prim and Proper are the best answer! They have matching aesthetics, are pretty much inseparable and utterly glow in each others’ company, they share everything, and of course THEIR NAMES omg... No one in the clan knows if like, they just coincidentally have matching names or if they did it on purpose. (honestly I think it’s a mix of both. they happened to have similar names then just..made them match better haha this isn’t 100% set in stone but i’ve considered their ’full names’ are Primrose and Prosperity. Either way Prim is definitely short for Primrose, it’s Proper’s name i’m not as sure about.)

62. Who’s the clan troublemaker and who has to clean up the mess?

The clan troublemaker is Prank Master Patlican! You never know what to expect with her. She’s most famous for hiding vegetables in strange places, but she will do almost anything. From good old fashioned handshake buzzers to leaping out at poor unassuming dragons to switching locations of Tarragon’s potted plants, she has a large prank repertoire... Her friend Ottomy does his best to clean up her mess. He’s very often the target himself fsadfaf

63. Are there any rivals in your clan? Are they friendly rivals or bitter enemies?

Oh yes, I got some rivals! There’s definitely some stuff going on with Xana/Iolite versus Matrix/Micron. I think they’re more friendly than anything, but then again they probably subscribe to ‘keep your enemies closer’ haha... Matrix also has some sort of rivalry with Lisianthus, who is mostly just confused by it tbh. They’re probably ultimately friends though.

Millisievert and Falcata were pretty fierce rivals and hate everything the other one stands for. They’ve mellowed out a bit over the years and mostly just try to avoid each other now.

Tamarind and Kyurem also probably count to some extent? Mostly Tamarind is bitter that Kyurem managed to take both his wife AND son (and not even a son from said wife dfdsaf) They do try to be adults about it and are generally cordial to each other, though Tamarind is definitely like ‘that guy’ under his breath.

OH and how could i forget. Marglobe and Warglobe! Marglobe just wants to grow tomatoes and Warglobe won’t stand for it for some reason. 

69. Who misses their old flight/home the most?

Ooh hmm..most dragons are quite happy to be staying in Florabrisa and came in part because they wanted to get away from their home for whatever reason.

There is Tamarind! I imagine he misses his Nature home every now and then, but he is chargebound to stay in Wind. That said, his charge being the native flora of the Windswept Plateau is like, obviously it can take care of itself so he doesn’t really need to stay there, he can definitely leave for a period of time if he so desired, but it’d still feel wrong to him to do so. Plus all his friends are here!

Osira probably gets a little homesick too. She is very strongly an arcane dragon and I’m not really sure why she left? Maybe she just wanted to go exploring, or just needed to take some personal time. It’s likely she and her gf Gushers will decide to move to the Starfall Isles at some point, but for now they’re happy together in Florabrisa c:

79. How religious is the bulk of your clan?

Not very religious at all! Florabrisa doesn’t exalt or really follow the teachings of any deity, aside from the general influence of Wind culture. That’s right. Florabrisa commits tax evasion fdsfgd

There are some members who follow a particular deity or two, like Qirrasi is very devout to the Plaguebringer, and Inermis is by far the biggest Windsinger follower around, but yeah in general deities are talked about very little in Florabrisa, and rituals are few and far between.

That said... I also gotta mention Ricotta. She claims to be a goddess. Most of the clan doesn’t really think she’s one, but there is a small handful of dragons who do, and she is happy to accept their prayers and offerings and give them blessings for it! (though she’s happy to share her divine food with almost anyone in the clan anyway, as long as they aren’t rude to her!) Some of her known followers include Macaroon, Artichoke, Calabasas, Nutshell, Sicliane, and Marbles! (and even some that don’t really believe in her are happy to play along anyway haha) There’s also the newer goddess in town Lemuria, but considering her complete inability to back up her claim, I don’t think she has even one follower so...RIP her.

despite this tho!!! she’s always been insanely close w her brother caleb. he’s her whole world. thts why when he decided to sign up to the army she ws understandably scared bt supported him regardless. bt then he wound up getting discharged under grounds of severe ptsd when he witnessed his best friend die in an explosion tht took place in a shock raid. caleb returned home n he was never the same n lana kind of felt like he’d died out there too. he’s in n out of hospital a lot n it’s rly hard on her bt she doesn’t tlk abt it to anyone rly

growing up lana was always a huge social butterfly. jst literally…. knew everyone n everyone definitely knew her. she ws one of those girls tht ws kind of impossible to ignore or forget. very animated, always made u feel like u were the centre of the universe whenever she spoke to u, always made it feel like u were best friends even if ud only spoken to her once. she has this magnetic way abt her tht is kind of hard to find in real life. it’s something ud only rly expect out of a movie character

Languages:  Only fluent in English. I know some ASL (the Alphabet and assorted words), decent amount of French, some Spanish and Italian, and have studied tiny amounts of Romanian and Icelandic. lately i’m working on learning other alphabets.

Favorite Food: i really do like celery/broccoli and hummus together! or caramelized onions and tomatoes with orzo and avocado. Salads are also good, and fruits!

Favorite Song:  i really, really, really just very much love that Stay Alive song, by Jose Gonzalez, linked above. Random Facts: wellup it might as well be the Lazytown family i tell that at 23 years old, i don’t know my romantic orientation (aro? panro? who knows!). Um...i crochet! and have manymany Original Fictions in various stages of writing. I’m super sensitive to caffeine, and have a tendency toward low blood pressure that used to make me faint a lot and still threatens to from time to time. rosalind  beatrix  hurst  is  a  fucking  angel  and  i’m  never  going  to  shut  up  about  it.

born  to  amelia  and  harry  hurst,  rosalind  is  the  first  of  five  children  and  the  only  to  be  born  in  amelia  and  harry’s  hometown  of  rye.  shortly  after  her  birth,  the  family  relocated  to  london,  england  for  amelia  and  harry’s  careers  as  english  and  mathematics  professors,  respectively.

it  really  didn’t  take  long  for  rosalind  to  fall  into  drama.  she  started  acting,  singing  and  dancing  classes  when  she  was  five   ---   all  of  her  own  accord,  as  well.  she  begged  her  parents,  and  they  couldn’t  really  say  no.  from  the  absolute  get - go,  she  had  potential  and  teachers  were  more  than  willing  to  tell  her  parents  exactly  that.

throughout  school,  she  managed  to  balance  her  love  of  theatre  with  her  education.  an  absolute  star  student,  she  excelled  in  english  literature  and  social  sciences.  she  ended  up  being  elected  student  body  president  in  her  final  year  of  school,  and  really  took  to  the  responsibility  of  that  role.  meanwhile,  she  was  often  cast  in  the  leading  role  of  every  school  play  and  was  involved  with  a  small  theatre  company.  she’s  always  had  a  real  love  of  actual  stage  acting  as  compared  to  films  and  television,  and  that’s  something  she  talks  about  regularly.

after  high  school,  she  attended  london  metropolitan  university  and  studied  english  language  &  literature.  she’s  always  had  a  real  affinity  for  it,  so  she  decided  to  actually  major  in  it   ---   she  maintains  that  it  was  the  best  decision  she  ever  made.  while  studying,  she  met  her  future  husband  and  honest  to  god,  she  fell  that  hard.  she’s  always  been  a  real  introvert,  but  she’d  actively  go  to  parties  and  mixers  in  the  hopes  of  seeing  him.  she  was  that  into  him,  and  it  absolutely  showed.

whilst  she  studied,  she  found  herself  getting  more  and  more  involved  with  her  acting  career.  she  scored  a  few  advertisement  gigs  whilst  she  was  studying,  and  those  kind  of  brought  her  round  to  the  concept  of  doing  film  and  television  work.

after  graduating,  she  considered  staying  in  england.  she  ended  up  dating  her  future  husband  for  two  years,  but  it  didn’t  work  out   ;   she  wasn’t  getting  any  work,  and  she  was  restless  beyond  belief.  ros  belived  that  america  was  the  place  to  be,  and  it  was  with  a  light  heart  that  she  civilly  broke  off  the  relationship  and  packed  herself  off  to  new  york  for  the  start  she’d  been  dreaming  of  for  two  years.

initially,  most  of  her  gigs  were  advertisements  but  they  lead  to  something  much  bigger:  six  months  after  her  move,  rosalind  scored  a  starring  role  in  a  daytime  tv  series,  and  it  changed  her  life.  suddenly,  she  had  a  steady  income  and  was  doing  something  she  loved,  day  in  and  day  out.  she  loved  working  24/7,  and  was  proud  of  her  accomplishments.  admittedly,  the  show  was  something  akin  to  days  of  our  lives  but  it  was  something.

slowly,  however,  she  grew  bored  of  the  daytime  tv  circuit  and  decided  to  start  auditioning  for  movie  roles   ;   she  landed  a  quick  succession  of  silver  screen  movies,  and  it  was  there  that  she  really  started  to  establish  herself  as  a  force  to  be  reckoned  with.  armed  with  a  series  of  credits  under  her  belt  and  a  soft,  pretty  accent,  ros  pretty  much  found  herself  shooting  to  the  spotlight.

while  she  was  doing  movies,  she  ended  up  doing  two  incredibly  significant  things:  reconnecting  with  her  ex - boyfriend,  and  writing  a  childrens’  book.  the  former  was  a  coincidence,  really,  but  it  reminded  her  why  she’d  fallen  in  love  all  those  years  ago.  it  didn’t  take  the  two  of  them  long  to  start  dating  again,  and  before  long  they  were  engaged.  she  still  claims  that  it’s  true  love,  and  that  when  you  know,  you  know.  she  hasn’t  once  looked  back.  as  for  the  childrens’  book,  it  was  a  very  conscious  decision:  she’d  been  writing  between  movies  and  decided  that  she  didn’t  want  to  be  just  an  actress   ;   she  wanted  to  put  that  degree  and  all  those  brains  to  good  use.  her  first  book  was  published  cleverly  between  the  release  of  two  of  her  more  successful  films,  and  to  say  it  was  a  smashing  success  would  be  an  understatement.

she  got  married  in  2016     !     it  was  a  small  wedding,  but  it  meant  the  entire  world  to  her.

nowadays,  she’s  doing  a  bit  of  everything:  she’s  directed  a  few  episodes  of  tv  shows  here  and  there,  she’s  doing  a  comfortable  combination  of  blockbuster  and  independent  movies,  and  she’s  made  her  return  to  the  stage  with  a  series  of  off - broadway  performances.  additionally,  she’s  published  two  more  childrens’  books  and  is  in  the  process  of  writing  an  adult  historical  fantasy   ---   think  outlander.  honestly,  she’s  living  her  best  life  and  she  wouldn’t  have  it  any  other  way.

donates  to  more  charities  than  you  can  poke  a  stick  at.  very  much  considers  herself  an  activist,  and  champions  all  causes.  literally  your  unproblematic  favourite.

she’s  such  an  introvert  though     ??????     she  just  wants  to  stay  at  home  with  her  husband  and  her  cats  and  drink  tea  and  read  books  when  she’s  not  working,  tbh.  she’s  very  much  a  homebody.

I will be honest: I am not fond of the story lines that pit Kurt and Blaine together…. because inevitably one of them loses (....usually kurt) and sometimes the way the writers write these stories makes it seem like the other can’t measure up to his partner so he might as well not even try. Is it just me?

Santana lives with Mercedes now?  So that’s 4 people in her apartment and only 2 in the loft? Or does Blaine spend so much time at the loft it might as well be 3?  That’s what my headcanon is… that Blaine sleeps over at the loft so much he might as well live there

I guess, given her talk with her agent, it makes sense why Rachel isn’t seeing the magic of Fanny Brice anymore. If I was told that the only thing I’d be able to do for the next 5 to 10 years would be the same show over and over and over, it’d change my perspective, too.

And now she thinks she can make her escape and do a TV pilot.  Though ….still… she once told Finn that she was a STAGE actress not a screen actress.  But i guess she’s seeing it as an escape because of her asshole agent.

The things is, Kurt and Blaine both have different styles… doesn’t make one more right than the other. I just hate it when the writers seem to say one is better than the other…

Like....we’ve been hearing this “oh, progress takes baby steps, one little thing at a time” crap for our entire lives, and guess what? With the exception of representation created by actual marginalized creators who manage to get a platform for it against all odds, most other so called representation from major studios and companies and franchises looks barely any different from the scraps they were giving us twenty years ago.

Baby steps my ass. Just say you’re trying to keep marginalized viewers on the hook watching your stuff without pissing off the homophobes and racists enough that they stop watching your stuff. That’s what it comes down to. That is the only reason most representation is still half-assed, blink and you miss it.

Major billion dollar corporations and highly successful and influential actors who makes millions off every movie honestly have people bending over backwards to say they’re trying or progress isn’t easy and it takes time, like these people are actual victims and like....boxed in by the evil homophobic society or whatever....instead of the tastemakers whose prioritization of straight white heroes for generations is the reason we have to fight so hard to get actual representation in the first place! 

They’re not powerless to do more in the face of a still largely homophobic society, they’ve just made the conscious choice that they care more about making sure homophobes still buy tickets to their movies than they do actually making a difference.

And like, if that’s what they want to do, then fine, they can do that, but what kills me is this idea that we’re supposed to be grateful for whatever little hint of not-straightness or not-whiteness that they shine a spotlight on for 2.5 seconds in a movie before its back to business as usual.....as though they’d do more if they could, really they would, but that’s just the best they could manage because The Homophobes and the Racists, y’see.

The movie Deadpool only happened because Ryan Reynolds wanted it to happen so badly, he wouldn’t let the project die in development hell. He kept making the rounds himself, kept the push on to keep new scripts for it getting made, and he has enough star power and a big enough fanbase that he was able to make it happen when lots of other actors couldn’t. There’s that post going around about how there’s a Bea Arthur T-Shirt he wore in the movie that they had trouble getting in because copyright stuff, so he paid $10K out of his own pocket for the licensing stuff to go through. And on and on.

Like, these aren’t small, innocuous things, they’re a display of the fact that people have power and influence in Hollywood and use those things every single day to get what they want or do things they care about. If the Deadpool production team and star really WANTED Deadpool the character to be the kind of meaningful representation they’re obviously all too happy to accept accolades for having provided already? Then they absolutely had the power to to give Wade an actual romantic history with one of the men in his films, or even one of them as an actual love interest or reciprocated flirting with one of them responding to his come-ons with like, interest of their own. Because notice how that suddenly, magically, turns what WAS just Wade obnoxiously using suggestive humor purely aimed at getting an audience laugh rather than an actual reaction....into two men having a moment like happens hundreds of times throughout every other summer blockbuster between a man and a woman and given the same degree of consideration and attention.

And yes, before someone comes at me with ‘bi and pan people don’t need to be in a romantic or sexual relationship with the same gender to be bi or pan’, like yes, thank you, I, a bisexual man, am aware of the fact that I remain equally bisexual when single, dating a man, dating a woman, or mid-orgy. My sexuality is not dependent on anyone or anything other than my own identity.

But we’re not talking about a real life human being’s identity here. We’re talking about REPRESENTATION, which is a thing created deliberately by human beings making conscious choices about what they want to display and what they don’t, and their reasons for both.

So yes, a bi or pan character is still bi or pan whether we see them kissing the same gender or not, but you can not act like a living bi man’s romantic and sexual interests being driven by his own unique choices as an individual....this is NOT the same thing as a bi or pan character who just so happens to be romantically interested in women love interests save for the occasional suggestive joke aimed at the nearest male character.

Because the former is born of that real life bi man’s entire life, experiences, personality, his BEING. The latter is born of human agendas and creative decisions and studio politics and yes, the fact that Fox and the Deadpool production are more than happy to throw LGBTQ+ viewers just enough table scraps that they’ll stay invested in supporting it, but not so much that it might risk them losing tickets in large numbers from the homophobic sector of their audience.

If I ignore the five men in my vicinity and focus on the one woman because I feel more of an attraction or connection to her for whatever reason, I get to do that because I am my own person, and people can assume whatever they want about what my motives or thought process might be but guess what? It doesn’t matter, because my choices are for me and me alone.

If Deadpool ignores the five men in his vicinity to focus on the one woman, its NOT because he feels more of an attraction or connection to her, because HE DOESN”T FEEL ANY OF THOSE THINGS. He is a fictional character. He only feels and acts upon whatever the writers decide he should feel and act upon, and THEIR motives and thought process absolutely get to be called into question, because they are not individuals making personal choices that are for them and them alone, they are creators of content that benefits and profits from the positive responses and continued support of whomever they choose to cater that content to in order to gain their support and positive response.

And bottom line, they still care more about selling tickets to homophobes than they do about creating real, positive, meaningful representation, and like....people should say that?? We do not owe it to million dollar franchises to say thank you, can we please have some more because of whatever they deign to dole out. Not while still blatantly making it clear PS, glad you liked that little moment there in Act Two Scene Five but tbh, we still care more about not pissing off the dude who lives in his parents’ basement in Kansas and has five guns and every Deadpool action figure ever made and cries into his pillow every night because Sara Lee rejected him when he asked her to his high school prom because he’s weird and ugly and nobody understands his pain like Deadpool, who is also weird and ugly and thus he NEEDS him, and just because he makes dumb jokes to guys onscreen sometimes, that’s no big deal, everyone does that sometimes, its not like he’s REALLY into guys, that’d be weird and also he can’t be because then he wouldn’t be like that homophobic shitbag who lives in his parents’ basement and trolls LGBTQ+ fans on twitter with “Lulz, dumbass losers, just accept that Deadpool doesn’t really represent you and never will, he’s OURS.”

They understand what actual representation looks like, because they’ve been representing the infinite shades of Shitty Straight White Human Being for generations now, and every single straight white man in Hollywood has a story about the character they identified with most as a child and made them want to write or act and basically shaped their entire life.

They know what actual representation looks like and what it means, but they have no interest in providing it so long as it might alienate who they see as the real moneymakers still, knowing they can still keep marginalized viewers watching by doling out the bare minimum and saying “there’s more coming, its just progress takes time, we need to take baby steps” like they’ve been doing for actual, literal decades, with very little actual change to show for it.

course feedback from a 2nd year film kid

Hello! Your course feedback tag helped me so so SO much when I was choosing courses in 1st year (and it’s still helping me). I was honestly relieved to find this blog as a resource for all york students! :)

I definitely want to give back to the yorku community & student body so being the shy person that I am, I want to give a bit of my feedback on courses I’ve taken at york so far as an anon, if we’re still able to. Not sure if it’s the right tag for this but hoping it is!

For reference, I’m going into my 2nd year of film as a BFA in Media Arts (new program for this year ooo). Previously I was in the BA for Cinema and Media Studies. This post might be a little long but pls bear with me! Thanks in advance. :)

FA/FILM 1400 9.00 *Not a 9 credit course anymore. Now it’s 6 credits.

Easiness - Introductory film course for all film kids. Teaches you the basics of film jargon, film history and film techniques. Pretty easy for a 6 credit course, but be prepared to write a couple of essays, and write them well!

Interestingness - Some movies were good, some were good to sleep through.

Usefulness - Useful because of what I learned from my TA! Took tutorial with Caroline. She’s really helpful at clarifying expectations and you can see she wants the students to learn. Don’t be afraid to ask for help to clarify theses, essay skeletons, or go to her with any concerns about tutorial participation (if you’re shy like me) if you need it outside of course hours! She’s usually very accommodating to that. 

Additional Comments – NO EXAM. If you don’t want to buy the textbook, you can find the textbook online, but the pages might be different due to diff editions! Just make sure you have the right reading for the week. Lectures are long but they’re only long because it’s usually 2 hours for film screenings and 2 hours of lecture (give and take). On good days, there’s only an hour of the prof’s lecture. You’re not obligated to stay if you can’t! Course breakdown: tutorial participation, Fall term essay, Winter term essay (weighs a bit more), and a solo or partner powerpoint presentation on a chapter of the textbook.

FA/FILM 1405 3.00

It’s a course about television studies, but I found it rather dry. There were a few times we screened the first few episodes of shows like The Wire, Jane the Virgin and Grey’s Anatomy, but otherwise, the majority of the actual material was boring (at least to me). We talked about the globalization of television, television companies merging into mainstream ones, American programming versus international, different types of camera work, etc. I thought I did bad in it, but ended up with a mark I was happy with, so although the course may not seem like it’s for you, don’t doubt it because it’s either a hit or miss. Definitely a course I didn’t love, but it IS a required course for film kids, so you just have to put up with it. But hey, at least there’s no final exam!

Breakdown: Tutorial participation, 3 in-class exams about the weekly readings (just 2 long answers for each exam), and a final essay. No textbook needed (all readings are online).

FA/FILM 1120 3.00

This is a screenwriting introduction course that’s required for all film kids. The grading is not too hard, you just have to be open to different ways you can form a story and tell it to your audience. Be open to constructive criticism! Your stories can always improve, and the TAs encourage you to do so. It is a writing course, but the assignments were short and not hard at all. You get to watch a few movies throughout the term, but overall, it taught me how to become a better storyteller. Lectures are long but just go to them for attendance!

No laptops in this class (unless you’re a student with special needs). Prof. Rebecca Schechter is pretty serious about that. No exam, no textbook required. Course breakdown: tutorial participation (includes asking questions), 4 short writing assignments (generally 1-4 pages), and your final script of an original story you create (can either write an outline of your story or a full-on dialogue script.

FA/FILM 1001 3.00

Easiness - Easy. As long as you can be (or at least fake) being creative in various ways by using different types of media resources, give this course a shot! If you’re worried about the courseload, Prof. Ken Rogers hardly touched on the readings, and even if he did, there was no test on them. The majority of the class didn’t do them. The assignments require a bit of creativity though, so if you really want to get an A, you should think “outside of the box” and express your ideas in different ways using media.

Interestingness - I didn’t do any of the readings and lectures weren’t even relevant to our assignments. Lectures were long-winded and mostly boring. You can work on other things while he talks tbh. The assignments were interesting though! You do a few assignments: a social media looping 10 second video of what represents you, an assignment on hyper-attention, a fake news assignment, a mapping assignment about what maps can signify, and a final desktop documentary & mock “budgeting” plan.

Usefulness - Very useful if you want to practice using different types of media while thinking in a critical way. You might be thrown off by the vagueness of the assignments because there is no limit to what you can do. Take advantage of it and think creatively!

Additional Comments – NO EXAM, no midterm, no textbook required. Make sure you have access to a computer - no fancy gadgets are required, but it’ll be easier for you if you’re decent with the computer and creative work. Just attend the lectures (for the sake of it) and attend tutorials. My tutorial was with David Han - he’s a pretty laid back guy and will give you some hints as to what he would like from you. Just approach him honestly, do your work, and you’ll be fine. 

AP/PHIL 1100 3.00 The Meaning of Life

Easy. A bit of work, but this is coming from a person who doesn’t like essays. It’s a good introductory course where you learn about a new philosopher each week and I really enjoyed the topics. There is a lecture video, a few readings, and a Moodle quiz every week on the philosophers, usually 10 questions and the best thing is that you can keep retaking the quiz if needed to get your desired score! One course kit is needed with photocopies of the readings. Try taking  with Rebecca Ring, and if needed, go and talk to her out of class at the philosophy department if you’re really stuck on one of the essays or assignments to clarify expectations. The final exam was 10 short essays - sounds like a lot but it wasn’t. Don’t let that scare you off because they were pretty understanding with the grades!

FA/DANC 1900 3.00

No, you don’t have to physically dance. DANC 1900 is a blended course where you watch movies every week, do a reading, and submit a 3-2-1 assignment onto Moodle weekly! (3 things you learned, 2 things you thought were interesting about the week’s material, and 1 question you have). No exam, no textbook - just participate, do the weekly work, and finish the final “essay” (not really an essay) where you choose a movie, create 3 questions about it, and answer the questions in paragraph form with minimal research. Super easy if you have the right TA. I recommend Megan, she’s really understanding. I had another TA before but had to transfer because I really did not enjoy the class when she taught it. If you’re having trouble with the course, need to clarify expectations or having some difficulty with your TA, contact Dr. Bridget Cauthery (the prof)! She was so sweet and accomodated me well.

You talk about racialized bodies and how they’re connected to dance, heteronormativity, social class, all the way down to communism and politics, while watching films like Saturday Night Fever and Cabaret. If you like movies and can make connections from film to other sociopolitical ideas, definitely try this course out!

FA/DATT 1939 3.00 *DATT not listed in courses page

Loved this course, but that’s just my experience. 1939 is a course where you learn a bit of everything for non-digital media majors - HTML/CSS, Javascript, Photoshop (minimal), Audacity (sound program). It would be easier on you if you have at least some knowledge about any of these topics or programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and HTML, but it’s not required. It’s a coding class but also a mixture of design - you talk about gaming and actually create website “games” for your assignments. No exam, no textbook, but you might not enjoy doing the weekly readings (e.g. Lev Manovich) and (not weekly) quizzes. The short quizzes are on Moodle and based on the readings. You have to attend lab in order to do them! Definitely interesting and it’ll help you out a lot if you want to learn more about these programs and skills! You have to put the work in if you want a good mark though. Two assignments for the whole term - one assignment where you make your own interactive website narrative using HTML/CSS (the prof/ta will show you how), and the 2nd is a group (but you can do it alone) project to make a website game using HTML/CSS and Javascript. It’s easier to work in a group because of workload. For the assignments, the sky is the limit! You can literally do your assignments on any topic you want. Tip - just take it and see if you like it! Don’t take it if you’re a newbie to this and have a heavy courseload though - it’ll just be extra work on you to learn everything from scratch while balancing your other courses.

Introductory course to art history! Blended course - weekly tutorials and online audio lectures with follow-along powerpoints. Easy if you work hard! Course breakdown: tutorial participation, one assignment where you have to go to Nuit Blanche, and another where you complete a questionnaire at a smaller Artist-Run Centre/other art gallery. For the final essay, you have to go to the AGO, choose a painting to write an essay on and discuss the art techniques used in the painting. The course really helps you learn more about artists in Toronto and it’s fun to go in groups with your friends downtown! No textbook but there’s an exam, which was really easy if you study - memorize painting info and answer some short answer questions you discussed in tutorial. Took the tutorial with Ingrid - I recommend her.

Vegas 2017

Okay I promised a massive write up so here we go. LOL this is my ENTIRE trip fyi not just the shows. but CLEARLY the shows and all the stuff that goes with it is in here in large quantities. Under the cut:

I'm just starting off with something that i'm not going to be writing this pretty because it's 1:30am lol. Anyway... So I got there at like nearly 11pm their time which was my like 2am lol and finally got to the shuttle area and got on (next time im skipping the shuttles and just using lyft) and then the dude forgot about me and this other woman and so it took a MILLION YEARS!! to get to the hotel and I was late :( like wtf we were supposed to be like the 2nd people dropped off. RIDICULOUS!! lol thank goodness they at least had a room but it was a smoking room and SUPER creepy lmao but we got to switch the next day thank goodness. SO anyway all i did once i got there was eat part of a creepy sandwhich (lol) and video chat my mother who was also amused by the creepiness of the room when I showed her LOL and then showered and attempted to sleep... I had barely got asleep when Kayley got there and she had keys to the room but they didn't work weirdly and knocked on the door to which i promptly fell out of the bed hahaha and let her in and it was odd because it was like Hi there first time meeting face to face but it didn't feel that way at all and we just talked and then fell asleep  ahahha and then when we FINALLY got up we were like ok well let's go downstairs and walk around before we leave. So, we're in the casino when suddenly this guy that worked there was all "Hold up, how you gonna wear a Three's Company shirt without the original cast?" to Kayley (the start of one hilarious day of wearing that shirt tbh) and we were amused and we started talking to this guy and he was just VERY enthusiastic over Three's Company. And he was like yelling about it in the middle of the casino lmao he was not a Terri fan whatsoever. hahaha This went on for like at least 10 minutes. It was super amusing. Then after that we went to the box office and got our tickets for the shows and then we were just walking around and suddenly I spotted Ryan (why was it always me who spotted everyone? good grief!) and I was like OH my god THERE's RYAN!! and she was like WHERE?? and I was like seriously? you can't see the giant at the poker table?! LMAO finally she saw him and we got the giggles!! and we were like omg and we walked around again just to like look at Ryan. Hahahaha and then that's when I noticed Jeff at the bar. LOL and I didn't say anything at first because I wasn't sure if it was him so I made us walk by it again and sure enough it was and I was like oh man there's Jeff and she was like where? and I was like over there! and we were just standing there and i was pointing (thank goodness he had his back to us lmao) and I was like I know it's him because he's wearing one of those ugly hats LMAO (it's ok rob wears them too sometimes)  then the rest of the time was spent walking around for a few because I was trying to decide if the woman he was talking to was actually Cassandra or an old woman because apparently she looks like an old woman to me. Or at least from the side/back. hahahaha but then we got the giggles too bad and I literally was like nope we have to go our room NOW. I was like I must banish us!! I did not want to be seen acting like a giggling 12 year old lmao...so we got up there and then had a major giggle attack and once we calmed down we then went back down and walked around a bunch more we were trying to figure out if we could approach or not but we never ended up doing it but I did at least discover it was in fact Cassandra when we got the courage up to walk a little closer. hahahaha then we were like okay this is ridiculous we are ridiculous and we decided we had to get something to eat cuz neither of us had eaten anything and it was like 3pm lmao (we be creepin) so we went to the restaurant there at the hotel and that's when we were like ok so we don't have any time to do like half of what we wanted to do that day since we spent so much of it either sleeping or creeping lmao  so we ended up just going out and walking around a lot and getting ice cream, and giggling over it because #thegoldencone 

Throughout this entire time random dudes just kept commenting on her shirt. Like nonstop. one even sang the theme song to us lmao! It was really funny and so random...we appreciated it!!! SOOOO...fast forward to the show! We get there to wait to go in and decide to take pics with the poster because why not?

Hahaha took some pics for other girls and they took some for us... and then when Kayley was taking mine I just pointed and had no idea but I was ironically pointing at Jeff I was amuse dby this and there was a guy watching it happening who was laughing at me and i was like listen here pally, i love them a lot ok? (in my head) he was gone when i was done hahahaha

so we get inside and see our seats and are slightly surprised with wherethey were (it looked diff online) but still impressed cuz SO CLOSE. and we are giddy and happy and everything

and thennnn we find out we do get to fill out sentences which was great though this time around neither of us got any of them read. but that's OK. and then when Greg came out he was asking the questions he normally asks and he asked like what is your favorite movie? and I yelled out The Nutty Professor because I knew I wanted to yell out a jerry movie because well it's jerry but i wanted one that the majority of people would actually know (it's not actually my fave) and he was like "oh wow i wasn't expecting that" very amused HAHA and then he ya know announced them to come out and i about lost my shit when jeff and ryan came out lmao i cheered for joel but i wasn't as keen on him at this point (i mean i didn't hate him!! i liked him!! i just wasn't all !!!! but it's changed now!!) and then it started. it was a sort of odd show i feel like at first they took a little longer to get going. I mean they were still super funny but they were kinda awkward about it for a bit?? And after talking to joel i understand why, they weren't used to being so far away from the crowd. I sadly can't remember as much about the first show as I can the second. Hopefully Kayley can help fill in some blanks and remind me. Lol. I mean there was the ICONIC sentences game. Some super loud drunk dude down front yelled out Poultry Porn for a suggestion lmaoo and they went with it and it was WILD. Ryan was an ex starlet turned CHICKEN pornstar (and Jeff's sorta semi ex lover) who was just happy to still be on film LMAO. it was a whole thing. Nonstop really inappropriate shit happened. At one point the actual guy who suggested it was like "THIS IS SO WRONG" outloud and Jeff was like "YOU FUCKING SUGGESTED IT!" LMAO at one point there was some oohs and ahhs cuz it just was getting REALLY wild and disturbing...I think at one point I was just like "oh my god what the hell is happening in front of right now" out loud and I know for sure Ryan heard it cuz he was right infront of me at the time and he kinda was laughing. There was a really great cock joke in there (because chickens) i wish i could remember it. ugh. And then Jeff was all IT'S TIME! and Made Ryan have to pretend to be in a porno with a chicken and it ended with Ryan JERKING OFF A CHICKEN LMAOOOOOOOOOOO and Jeff walked back out and was all OK LET'S STOP IT THERE and Ryan was like REALY? REALLY? IT SHOULD HAVE STOPPED LONG BEFORE THAT!! LMAO His face was PRICELESS. omg... hahahaha and from there it got wild!! lmao Then the girl sitting next to me was the one picked to have Jeff sing to her (I just want it to be me. why can't it be me?) and she was terrified to be on stage tbh lmao she was there with her mother i guess and i don't really remember much but i do remeber at one point she just casually put her hand on jeff's thigh and he suddenly looked down surprised HAHAHA and she quickly took it away but he grabbed her hand and put it back ahaha and then slowly raised her hand til she was basically grabbing him it was so funny moving people was pretty funny as usual but i can't remmeber any details right now im sorry. but the sound effects one was really lame this time tbh one of the girls was relaly good and the other one was just awful but at one point ryan was trying to just get her to make a sound so he pretended he had a megaphone and was trying to get her to say stuff or make noise or anything but she just...wasn't. And he was all YOU'D THINK YOU'D HEAR MY VOICE THIS THIN IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU SOUND FUCKING LOUD! or something lmao and the girl was all "THIS IS MY FUCKING VOICE" or something like that lmaooo and they all lost it and ryan was like "oops, have it set to mega bitch" LMAO! and Jeff was all OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH in the back it was so funny hmm let's see...greatest hits was a blast! LOL They did a french song about douching lmaoo and a rat pack esque song i believe too which was great. There was another one too because they accidentally did 4 that night hahaha i can't remeber what it was??? But the iconic one was definitely the rock opera. I think it was supposed to be about plumbing but I forget and honestly they strayed WAY off soit's OK. Anyway it was supposed to Greg and Jeff that night but Greg was like I'm OUT lmao and told Ryan and Joel to do it and they were like OK. Lmao and so they went in and At first Jeff let the start it up and it was so great but then Jeff did join in it was honestly the most massive greatest hits song i've ever seen or heard them do tbh. the song itself lasted AT LEAST 10 minutes and all 4 ended up involved by the time it was done lmao Jeff ran out into the crowd and was trying to be the disco ball God but the lighting guys were not on their job lmaoo and he couldn't get the disco balls to work no matter how much prompting he would do and it was hilarious and then the fog machines went off instead and ryan and joel were all "the house is on fire! gotta put it out! the house is on fire! gotta put it out!" all dramatically in song toward it lmaoo it was WILD i was dying omg it was truly epic hahaha and then Jeff ran up to the light guys to get it working and they FINALLY came on only to be shut off not long after and he was all THEY JUST FUCKING WENT OUT but then they finally got them going again omg hahaha and jeff like ran back up on stage and was all im gonna go drink backstage and pretended to walk off the stage hahahaha but by the end of the song even greg joined in and like ryan was on the floor just rolling around joel was like exhausted in the corner greg was dancing and jeff was just dramatically stomping off the stage. lmao it was just so wild omg it was amazing.  then they said goodnight and we just sat there for a few cuz we were way down there and there was so many people going and we just needed a moment. then we like went out and were like ok...what do we do...and we stood there for a bit then i was like eh let's walk around so we did and then we went back and there were some others there then waitin and we were talking to them for  abit and then we were like let's walk around so we don't look creepy (as if it could help) but then time when we were rounding back we saw they were out and we wer elike OMG! and we literally just started running. WE RAN THROUGH THE CASINO. lmao right before we got around the corner i was like OK WE GOTTA STOP WE CAN'T LET THEM SEE US hahahaha so we did and we tried to casually walk up. HAhaha I saw Jeff was with some girls so i was like OK. Greg. and I was like HI 2 times and then i did everyhting i already wrote about that hahaha and same with jeff hAhah got our pics embarrassed ourselves especially me hahahah omg i forgot about how kayley didn't know how to operate my phone and just flashed my phone at us thank goodness he couldn't see my wallpaper cuz #embarrassing lmao! but then we giggled after and stood around for a long while just like freaking out by a bush and then i thought it was totally normal and OK to just creep them from behind said bush and we did this for like a solid hour. damn. why didn't we just go in the bar this night? oh well. HAhahaha Anyway at one point i was snapping pictures from behind the bush lmao :

and just as i was about get one of jeff standing and kinda looking but not really we locked eyes and he noticed me and he smirked at me!!!! and then like walked away and I turned around wide eyed in a freak out to kayley and was all JEFF JUST SAW ME CREEPING!!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOCKED EYES. THERE WAS SMIRKING. LMAOOOOOo I SAID IT SO LOUD EVERYONE COULD HEAR ME. I was so loud the whole time and embarrassing I swear. (the last 2 picd were RIGHT before it happened lmaooo) I was a whole other person in Vegas.. lol!!! As I said...Vegas changes you... hahahhaa and then i was like omg ok we need to go so I'm not even creepier lmao and so we went out and went to denny's and ate toast because, yes. then we came in and tried to sleep ad junk and again the next day we walked around and saw Ryan. but that was it. Then we went out and we did madame toussands and stuff

and then we went to Pierro's which is this amazing Italian place that Jerry frequents (how we knew about it) and it's super old school. Not just old school Vegas but just...old school. They even wear the white waiter coats! The food is SO good and they give you SO much but it is pretty expensive so it's definitely a vacation kind of place for me at least. hahaha I couldn't even finish all of my food which made me sad to pay that kind of money and not be able to finish it...but ya know.

then we left and went back to the hotel and just as we were getting in the elevator there was jeff and cassandra and this time kayley spotted them but the only reason i didn't is because I simply had my back to them and was facing her and she was trying to warn me but i couldn't hear her and then they were just standing tehre so she was all "something is coming" and just as she was saying that i saw him out of the corner of my eyes because he's so massive hahaha and they pushed the button for the elevator anyway ours opened at the same time as the one opened on the other side and we walked in ours and she started walking into the other one but jeff decided he was going to ride with us instead i guess hahaha cuz next thing i know he was walking in and i was like O_O inside tbh and then she quickly followed and i wa slike what is happening omggg I did my best poker face ever there because i was internally screaming if im being honest. He was just in there talking about how he was sick and loosing his voice and how his throat hurt and junk but he was like i'll be fine for the show haha and kinda looked at us and he was like warming up his voice and stuff and then he was patting himself down and was all "i really need to find a lint brush" LOL it was really funny. and then we got ready quickly after of course dying some more nad then we went to the show and got in our seats which we switched who sat where that night just because it was fair and then the show started and it was great! I was like how does one top what we ha djust seen?? and idk if they did better or what because both shows were great but this one was DEFINITELY more wild (i mean ok the chicken porn thing was pretty wild but this...idk man. i just dunno. lmao) During Freeze Kayley got to put jeff into a position and I laughed the way Greg looked when he said possibly not in a sexual position because it was different then the way he had said it the night before and different the way he said it for the other one. And that's when she chose downward dog. lmao and Jeff was like yes and he went over to her and made it look like he was gonna shake her hand but took her drink instead and drank it BAHAHA we were dying and she like raised herself up to give ti to him it was the funniest the crowd really laughed too. and then he did it and they kept him in that position the entire game of course. Ryan did the whole blows into Jeff's ass joke, which I was very glad to see in person lmao and there was one when he was a tent which i cracked up over. Jeff did Christopher Walken for the gameshow one and I was so happy to hear that in person and this particular time was extra funny too lmao ryan asked him to quote something from brigitte jone's diary because he said he wa sin every movie and jeff just said something about a diary and ryan got laughing and was like "i don't think that's right" lmao it was so funny and then when they asked for style of film or directors we btoh yelled at Jerry Lewis but Jeff only heard Kayley and asked her to say it again and she did and he was amused and he had to go ver and like shake her hand HAHA so we are happy to know he really likes jerry too and then Freaking Greg and joel did MARTIN AND LEWIS rather than just Jerry and I was there like OMFG THEY'RE DOING MARTIN AND LEWIS!!! sooo loud im certain they all hear dme hahaha i was like dying. then omfg Sentences. Ah, Sentences. honestly, that's my fave game if we're being honest. Lmao.  This one was about Firey Bellbottoms or something like that and they made it about disco. Hahahaha Jeff just wanted to dance. Ryan had a baby randomly lmao which was made funnier cuz later on one of the sentences read was about him getting his period and jeff was like, wait a minute. Lmao! and Ryan was laughing and was like DON'T EVEN ASK. hhahahah but then came the best part of course... When they were talking about going out and dancing and Jeff was all That hit Beegee's song *reads paper and makes a face and raises his eyebrow before reading it off* "Would You like to see my Golden Cone?" in which i then started to die and im certain he knew it wa sme cuz he threw the paper directly at me LMAO!

he said it so dramatically i died. like even more dramatically then some cuz he like put his head to the side in a huff.  hahaha. the whole audience laughed a lot and i felt so proud!!! and then Ryan apparently must have really appreciated it because he decided to start singing it. He sang a disco song about the golden cone and I can't remember it...so seriously if anyone out there was there and remembers it or anything PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I know it involved penis and sex though. I was very glad they went the penis route because that is what the golden cone is all about. I'm so sad I can't remember the song though :((( hahahaha and then the woman who got brought up this time was like in some relationship with this dude in the crowd for like 8 years or something idk but not engaged hahaha and she said something about not eating the candy but she got in the van anyway and they laughed about that a lot and ryan was like man i wish i had said that hahaha and then the song started and i don't fully remeber the song but jeff ran down into the audience and sat next to him which was like basically right behind me and was trying to convince the guy to propose to her but the guy wouldn't LMAO it was too funny omfg! and then he went back up and finished the song. then during moving people a 3rd girl went upon stage because it was vegas so she was durnk and instead of kicking her off though for abit they were highly amused and trying to figure out what the heck was happening jeff was like why don't we just do it and they wer elike oh ok? and so they kept her on and ryan ended up playing it too. NOT ME! mostly cuz jeff was there and also because my feet were KILLING me. seriously.they were bleeding. lmao so i stood there and videod her as ya'll saw and watched and listened to jeff and greg esp jeff cuz he was so loud and very into it LMAO! and then we werelike right at the table next to them as i said and finally the old guy convinced me to go up but i was like fineee but only if you go too to kayley hahaha and so the 3 of us were just up there dancing as jeff and greg and joel too were watching and it was wild. omg. so much happened there i don't wanna put here if you want to know the details you can message me for those. lmao thennnn later we were walking around the casino again and i played the dean martin slot machine because dean (I Won, yay) and then joel approached us and we were just there talking to him for a while and it was great because it was like talking to an old friend. He's so nice. haha and a genuinely funny guy!! then kayley got a drink and i decided i needed one too so we were walking into the place when somehow i spot jeff walking toward us and I was like (loudly of course) OMFG! THERE'S JEFF! and like flailed my arms up and kayley while trying to hide behind me or something went falling into the clothing rack that just happened to be there. people in the casino saw. jeff definitely saw. again more weirdness happened there that if you want details on you can message me (i'm trying to keep this less creepy publicly. lmao) i then was mortified that i did it loud and ducked into the place but he definitely heard and saw so there's that. Lmfao. I mean I don't think i would have been all OMFG!! except for the fact we walked around the whole place a lot and didn't see him and he's not exactly hard to miss so i just had figured he had gone upt o his room or something bahahaha. gues snot. oh well. oh ya i forgot we also met Bob really quick as he was heading up to his room! We shook his hands and told him he was great and the show was great and he thanked us and was all smiles, nice man of course.  then the next day we did an escape room (i was dumber than I thought lmao) and the mafia museum which was great because there was dean stuff and theyeven played ain't that a kick in the head and there was martin and lewis stuff and i was just like yaaaaaaaa!!! hahaha

then i ate like the biggest slice of pizza in my life lmao (it looked bigger in person trust me

and then we also went to see Vegas! The Show which was really fun and stereotypical Vegas so it was great. and got better seats for free

haha but sadly i was really sick that day :( haha then we wet back to the hotel and tried to sleep because i knew i needed it we hadn't orignally planned to sleep but as i was sick there was no way i couldn't. and then we were super sad to leave but had to obviously and then my flight from vegas to DC/Virginia was good and nice but then the mess atthe airport happened and I had a panic attack in the middle of an abandoned section of the airport and then went off on this jackass of a dude like full on. I was screaming at him arms flailing my heavyNY accent was A GO! lmao I was so pissed and he was a JERK like to everyone i genuinely wish i remembered his name and shit so i could report him and get him reprimanded or fired or something because he is like on my list of evil people he even LOOKS like a creep. like for real. he kept making me seem like i was an idiot and at that point i was so sick and so sick i was just like GONE. lmao but after my panic attack i finally found someone who wasn't a jerk and hse helped me get a decent flight and a hotelr oom and junk and then i got there and stuff bad happened there too and i was like ??? was i too lucky in Vegas?? Hahahah but then i slept which was nice even if it wasn't long enough and flew home and got in and got home and i was like yay onyl to find out my dad is a jerk and didn't do any of the stuff he promised he would do so i had to do it all that night before i could even sleep and then once i slept i was out til 4pm and i just keep sleeping a lot and im still sick tho i think im starting to feel better finally so fingers crossed. Damn you Jeff for getting me sick!!WORTH IT!! lmao
