I guess it's more of a show of demographics than anything but I'm always a bit side eye-y when discussions around SSO's character customization update ONLY revolve around people being mad about there not being enough skinny body types (often with a weird undercurrent of fatphobia which people should absolutely fuck off with) and not like. Wow it's great that they're bringing in more ethnic features and skin tones and textured hair so more kids can actually feel comfortable and represented in the game
#i literally dont think I've ever seen a dark skinner player character in the game#probably because there's like . one dark skin tone and it's crazy ashy#idk#i saw a post on reddit at some point that was like 'is your player character supposed to be you or an oc'#and there were a few posts there that just straight up said. im [x] ethnicity. even if i wanted to the characters physically cannot look#like me#which sucks!!#honestly im just so excited to finally not look like a middle aged white woman and i know other people are too#sso

Shoto.16.the youngest and most reserved, has no interest in marriage but would like a companion
Reader is a rebellious princess in a falling Kingdom and is sent off to live with the Todorokis in hopes of marriage to save her family. But Reader has other plans in mind.
tags/ @no-post-ghost @yoonbbyboy @pinkjellychan @squeaky-duckyâ
You wasted no time ditching the family for the courtyard after dashing out of the carriage and right past Enji, you were over Natsuo and his creepy behaviour and over this whole arrangement. With a groan you stopped next to some trees and slipped between two large oaks to conceal yourself for a minute. You sat down hugging your knees panting slightly. It was a pretty courtyard, full of flowers funny enough since only men seemed to lived in this rotten castle.Â
So what now? The King would not be happy at your actions but if he tried to hurt you it would hinder his plans for his precious sons. So you were safe for the most part. The oldest, Touya did not really seem interested in courting you anyway, to focused on his drinking and keeping his brother in line. Â
The thought of Natsuo made you gag and cough a bit, what an awful person and he's gonna be King eventually? Maybe you could cut his balls off to save whoever marries him. Sighing you relaxed against the tree letting one leg down admiring the clouds that rolled on by, the sky seemed more blue here than at your Kingdom too you, weird.Â
âUhmâŚ?â said a voice, it sounded skittish.
You rolled your head to the left to see a boy about Shotos age looking at you, he had royal clothes on and had crazy green hair. You tilted your head at this boy and brought your legs down so you were criss cross.Â
 âYes?â you asked curiously
âIs Shoto around?â
âI think so , the main entrance.â
âO-oh uh, okay, i can wait here then. May i sit by you? My names Izuku of Midoriya Manorâ
âSure kid,â you scooted over a bit for him to join you.âY/n of Alastarâ
âOh thanks !â he sat by you but seemed to be looking around
âSomething on your mind?â
âOh uh n-no, im just waiting for Shoto, his father does not a-aprove of me so we have too âŚâ he trailed off rubbing the back of his head.
âHm? Well your safe with me kid, i doubt that big ape approves of me too.â
âAre you to be wed?â
âSadly.â
âUh- uhm!,â he rubbed his hands together. âYou seem really cool and can protect yourself..â he told you, pointing to the knife on your person. âJust watch out for the middle sibling okay?â
You got up patting your butt free of dirt and Shoto squeezed through the trees to see you and Izuku. Shoto hugged Izuku and the two sighed with relief to see each other.Â
ây/n. Touya wants to see you to show you around, hes at the stables, around the corner from hereâ
âOkay Shoto, izuku was waiting for you, i never saw him though.â
The youngest gave you a gentle smile and a nod as thanks.Â
**
Squeezing back through the trees you strolled around the courtyard admiring the flowers before meeting up with Touya. No sign of the King or his creepy son , the courtyard had a large apple tree in its center but it only had one apple on it and it looked to be rotten which was weird. It's definitely apple season. Hm. thinking nothing of it you made your way around the large castle to see the stables and Touya petting a large black and white mare of the face in long strokes.
âWhos a pretty girl ? you you youâ he cooed at the sleepy horse.
âDont take you for a animal loverâ you joked walking up to him. âWheres idiot 1 and 2?â
âMy father is giving Natsuo a talking to so im trusted to show you aroundâ he pointed to the castle âthats the castleâ he pointed to a stray window at the top âthats your roomâ
âA five star tour i seeâ you pet the horse admiring its coat. â lovely colorsâ
âReminds me of my life from beforeâ he told you while taking out his flask to drink.
âHm? Whats that mean? And whos this Izuku that was sneaking around?â
Touya sat down in a empty stable drinking more before answering you. âThats Shotos boyfriend, dont tell anyone or i will kill you myself. Im the only one who knowsâ
âi wouldn't do that Touya, he said Enji does not approve of him?â
âYepâ he fell into some hay drinking more. âThey want to leave when they turn 18 and have a farm, im helping make it happenâ
You sat down by the hay watching this man drink his life away , he had not one care in the world, unless it was Shoto related.Â
*
Some time passed and you and Touya were sharing the flask now.
âSo .. what did you mean by your life from before?â
âMmmm⌠i was going to be a father, at least.. Thats what i was told.â he sat up pushing his hair outta his face. She was a brothel worker and i had gotten her pregnant.âÂ
You listened to him taking note of the hint of sadness in his voice.
âI was excited, i wanted to be a dad.â he told you looking over at the horse.âshe had black and white hair, i called her my little⌠berry.., i did everything right, i told her she could live with me and be a Princess and we could be happy. But i also told her i did not want her working the brothel anymore obviously,âÂ
He brought his knees up laying his elbows over them looking at the ground between his legs. âShe told me she would stop but something felt weird so i checked on her and she was still working it. I confronted her and she said she needed the money for the baby and i told her i have more money than i know what to do with, the months went on and she eventually stopped, her bump was small and everytime i felt it , i dont know. It felt off. One day i woke up early and looked over at her, she was asleep on her stomach and .. she was too far align to be doing that.â he looked up at you, his eyes slightly red. â she lied to me, for my status, my wealth, my name, it was some kind of material to seem like a bump, she tried to tell me it was my fault.â
âTouyaâŚâ
He ignored you. âWhat she said stung more than the faked pregnancy. I had to know, for sure. So i contacted a witch and she performed some kind of spell on me and ..and..â
You moved closer, placing your hand on his arm , he took a big drink and lowered his head again. â i cant⌠have children⌠â
You pulled this man into your arms trying your best to comfort him. He just cursed up a storm and told you how excited he was, how he was going to move away as soon as Shoto left with izuku and start an even bigger family with the woman he loved. Touya wanted his own Kingdom but in a quiet place no one knew about where he could be happy.
âEveryday⌠i curse Natsuo, he does not deserve to have childrenâ he pushed himself off you to wipe his eyes. â no one knows this about me y/nâ
âTouya its safe with meâ
âI have no interest in getting married anymore, i dont care.â
âThats perfectly okay Touyaâ
He sniffled not looking at you. âThank you for listening, you should get settled into your room, top floor last door on the left.â
âYoull be okay?â you asked, getting up
âNopeâ he got up walking past you âbut thats just how i like itâ he waved not looking back as he headed into town.
*
The castle was full of expensive things: statues, paintings, rugs, swords. Anything you could think of. Big wide open rooms with ceilings higher than you had ever seen. It smelled like the kitchen was to your right and the main rooms looked to be up the rug covered stairs. You could hear Enji yelling at Natsuo when you got to the top , you snuck by peeking in every room you passed, looked like bedrooms. You heard a door slam and looked over your shoulder to see Natsuo brooding outside the door talking to himself.Â
You slipped into your room and scanned around the giant room, pretty bed, too girly honestly. A wooden vanity with glass in it and a couple windows. You checked outside them all , dammit. Nothing to really grab on to for a quick escape? You thought on it inspecting more and suddenly you were grabbed from behind and flipped over and pressed against the window, your hair blowing in the wind.Â
Natsuo was pinning you down looking very angry with you. You stuck your chin out at him reaching down for you knife.
âYes ? your highness?â âI should ⌠should⌠â he pressed harder into your shoulders. âYou . so mean, you made a fool of .. of me? In front of my father? I ?â his gaze dropped and he grabbed the knife tossing it out the window . his voice got louder and he shook you. â they tell me i should kill you !! but!! My voices arent always!!.. Correct so âŚâ
âLet me go !! get these gross hands off me !â you fought his grip and he threw you onto the bed pinning you from behind. â why are you so ⌠SO SO difficult? Im a future KING im in CHARGE not YOUâ he reached back fussing with his belt and you got very still.
âIs that why your upset hm? I hurt your ego?â you asked looking backâpittyâ with a quick snap of your arm a second knife shot out of your left sleeve and stabbed Natsuo in the arm. He cried out falling back and you pushed him out fo your room. âSorry, no middle siblings allowedâ you slammed the door locking it and pushing some heavy furniture in front of the door for the time being.Â
You could hear Natsuo crying in pain in the hall but you did not really care, it sounded like he was walking away and you finally⌠finally..alone. You sunk down to your kneesâ what the fuck manâŚâ

"Keiji, it's getting dark. Why not come inside for the night?"
The sun was just over the horizon, the moon coming up to replace it. It's brightâthe orange and pink colors. The image is burned into young Akaashi's memory when he looks over. He waves at his mother with a nod before passing the volleyball back to his friends and running over. The scrapes on his palm sting and the bruises on his legs hurt a little, but he doesn't mind the sensation. It feels like freedomâeven if he doesn't really understand the full meaning of the moon. This is what he imagines it feels like.
Games to be played with friends and laughter. If this is what life holds then he is more than willing to live it. His naivety holds firm when he grabs his mother hand at the door, being pulled into a brisk hug. She laughs and pats his hair and he thinks it's the kindest gesture in the world. He snuggles closer before pulling away to see dinner on the table. His mother locks up, looking quietly into the city with concerned eyes. She wasn't going to let anyone hurt him, the smile that she cherishes wasn't going to fade as long as she could help it. She turns with a smile, passing him a plastic fork before listening to the adventures Akaashi had gone on that day.
Childhood seems so far now.
âââ
If you were to tell Akaashi's five year old self that seventeen years later everything he thought about freedom and life was a lie and he would become a detective who took away other's freedom, he'd probably laugh and then cry and cry some more. If you were to tell him that his mother would die so he'd have to be raised by his aunt at the age of thirteen, he'd probably punch you in face in attempt to break your noseâand if you then told him that's the reason he became a detective and went through five grueling years of internships and having to learn how to stomach crime scenes in the first place, he'd make sure to add a swift kick to the shin with it. Even at twenty, if someoneâanyoneâwould have told him that he'd never get sleep again because of the things he'd see day to day, eventually becoming desensitized, but still having nightmares that kept him up all hours of the nightâwell, he'd probably just brush it off because he thought he'd be different.
News flash: he's not different.
In attempt to rub sleep from his eyes (ironic considering he got maybe an hour), Akaashi yawns, triggering a chain reaction from his assistant. The city is bustling with talk of the latest murderâa social media personality. Twitter is blowing up with the hashtags 'rip' and 'always & forever.' Yet, hardly any of the people tweeting and saying things like: 'always in our hearts, never forget,' didn't know her personally. They knew the internet version of her, the side she showed to the world and not the side she was personally. To the world she is known as an idolâa hero to some.
But everyone has their dark secrets.
The car stops along the house's pavement, the driveway a large circle with a statue in the middle. His first thought is someone was in it for the money, maybe a robbery gone wrong. Stepping out the car, he snaps on some gloves and looks around before being handle the case file from an officer on duty, being caught up to speed.
The house is pristine except for the blood that has dried up on the tiled floor. It's a stark contrast from all the white and gold. Minimalist; he notes. Akaashi skims the file before looking at the body and watching it get zipped up into a black bag before being carried away. All that's left is half an outline and some splatter across the floor.
He pinches the bridge of his nose. Just what he needsâmore nightmare fuel. But a job is a job no matter how tired he is.
"Alright, let's start at the entrances. Check the windows and doors."
âââ
Red. Why is there so much red? Whose breathing is that? And why is it so loud?
Your eyes finally focus on the hand outstretched in front of you, widening at the sight. A silent scream escapes past your lips and shakes your body, making you stumble backwards. The shaking hand blocks the view, forcing your eyes away from the scene. The thumping of your heart and blood in your eyes is so deafening that it makes you lightheaded. You felt sick. You were going to vomit, pushing down a gag and covering your mouth.
You look at your hands, willing them to stop shaking in tight fists before looking at the body below you. Blonde hair dyed red from the puddle. A sob wracks through you.
Heaving a heavy breath you weren't aware you were holding and gripping your phone tightly, you dial the police. Your voice shakes when speaking:
"H-help, please. She's dead! "
âââ
Akaashi rubs at his temple in attempt to soothe an oncoming headache, the dim yellow light at his desk straining his eyes. He looks at the file, nibbling on his lip in irritation. The pictures of the scene and the overall file and personal file just swarms his head with mixed up information and he honestly isn't sure where to start. With a soft sigh he leans back into his seat, crossing his arms over his chest.
The case is gruesome, a red massacre. Victim was stabbed six times in the abdominal, close to gutted even, but the blunt truama to her head shows she was dead before hitting floor. The door hadn't been broken in, the wood and hinges still in place like they hadn't been shakenâperhaps she let them in. The window had been forced open from the inside, the paint that previously sealed it being chipped aggressively against the pane. It could've been some loopy stalker, but the more he looks at the case it's less likely.
His head hurts and he can't focus and it's getting late.
He begins to nipple of his thumb nail, bringing it up to his lips in deep thought. The red strings in his brain trying to connect the dots sooner than it's actually possible. He's smart, but not that smart. His eyes slowly shift to the post-it note beside the biege file, a number scribbled down messily. They had sent you home with an officer to calm down from the shock. It had been about two days now as they waited for the autopsies and inspected, but time was running short and he needed your statement before the case runs cold and slips through his fingers. He'd have to interrogate you, ask you to speak on behalf of your friend. It seems you would know the most about her and her true identity as her emergency contact. Maybeâ hopefully, you'd help provide answers.
But he hates this part. The part where he has to call traumatized homicide victims and witnesses. He doesn't do well at comforting people, especially when he's the type to cut straight to the point. He doesn't know how to stop someone from crying (because someone always does) and he can never stop himself from saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He's blunt and yet, he's like a double edged sword. And he knows what they feel because he's been there and he sees it every day, even if he wasn't involved directly. If it haunts him at night, then it must taunt them all day. It's a hard push to get over, and even then the wounds never really heal. Suppose that's why Akaashi keeps pushing to solve cases, even cold ones, because he knows how it feels to be hopeless with a dark mentality. Nothing else matters until the killer is at the mercy of law.
He goes back to gnawing on his abused bottom lip, leaning forward to grab the black office phone before dialing the number. He lets it ring, twice before he hears the line click and a soft, weak 'hello?' He clears his throat, picking up his pen to write down anything he may need. This isn't his first rodeo, afterall.
"Hello, is this l/n y/n? Yes, this is the detective on case. Would you mind coming in to answer a few questions about your friend, Michiko?"

Lana On The Case
Part 3
Lana knew she shouldnât have been expecting much, especially after spending the last week lying in bed stewing in her own filth and misery.
That didnât change the fact that her current appearance still shocked her.
Her skin had gained an ashen quality about it and dark circles under her eyes.
She was sure is Red hadnât practically force fed her she was have lost much more weight then she already had.
She felt drained and heavy, like her life was sucked out from her when Hannah left herâŚ
Keith showing up had given her a small glimmer of excitement perhaps even hope but as soon as he was gone and she was left alone to her thoughts they turned right back to the fact that her best friend was gone from her life forever.
That thought hurt even more than knowing her sweet wonderful Hannah killed people.
Job offer or not Lana likely would have spent the rest of her life lying in her bed if her aunties hadnât decided to do something about it.
One moment she's dozing staring into space, the next Blue has pulled her covers away while Re dumped a bucket of warm soapy water over her.
The two manhandled her out of bed and into some clean clothes before giving her two options.
One was to stay cooped up inside and suffer through them inviting every nosey friend they could think of over to omard her with questions and pinched cheeks followed by of course the dreaded relationship advice that everyone over a certain age believed they knew.
Or go down to the police station and actually do something with her life/
Though neither option was particularly fun in the end Lana chose to go out mainly because Red had also made a swinging joke which of course practically sent her bolting through the door.
The police station like everything else in the village was only a short walk away from the Altea estate, you could get pretty much anywhere by cutting through the large gardens that have unfortunately fallen into a state of disrepair.
The lady of the manor had died when Lana was away and since then the place hadnât been the same, like some of the beauty of the world left when she did.
As far as she knew the only daughter of the family Allura was away for school or something while her father worked in London.
Lana had fond memories of Allura, being a few years younger then the girl and quite a bit poorer, she always seemed like this fairy princess that could have anything or do anything.
Looks like not even princesses could escape tragedy.
Lana hiked up her skirt as she climbed over the thick mess of weeds and flowers careful not to disturb anything as she passed through.
Even if everyone took the shortcut it was an unsaid rule that you were not to disturb the gardens or ever go close to the house.
Of course when Lance got her foot caught in a bramble and fell face first into the ground she broke that rule by flattening at least a dozen flowers beneath her.
âOh dear are you alright?â A woman wearing a veil and long white gloves asked as she hurried over from the main house.
Odd appearance aside what really caught Lanaâs attention was her snow white hair. A characteristic that was common amongst the Altean family.
Going off her build she could have been anywhere between 20-30 but without the face or hands it really was impossible to tell.
Lana felt her cheeks burn as she pulled herself up and dusted herself down frowning at the rip that now worked its way up her blue skirt.
The woman put her hands on her dress and examined the rip tutting softly âwe really must get the gardener back in this place really has fallen to ruin.â
Now that she was closer Lana could smell the sweet scent of roses coming off her in such a large volume it would almost be suffocating if they weren't outside.
âDo you work here?â Lana asked trying to swallow her embarrassment while this strange woman kept hold of her skirt.
One strong breeze and she would see next weeks washing.
The woman chuckled ânot exactly. I used to live here I never actually planned on returning but in light of my father's disappearance I suppose I didnât have much choice.â
Lana couldnât help but flinch, since what Hannah did came to light any case of men running off in the middle of the night or simply not returning after a day out is now considered suspect.
Their still digging up all the bodies and people have been flocking from all over in search of their missing husbands, fathers and brothers.
Lana then realised something very important.
Mainly that if Alfor was missing and this woman was his daughter then it must have been Allura!
âAllura?â
Lana couldnât see her face but she imagined a smile on those pretty pink painted lips she used to know very well.
âThatâs me, im sorry but who are you?â
Lana had her suspicions of course that this was all a scam, someone swooping in to steal the Altean family fortune, but she wasnât really in the mood for any other mysteries right now.
That and according to Keith she was pretty forgettable.
âOh im Lana⌠I used to play with you in the garden as a kid.â
âOh my i'm so sorry Lana, im afraid my memory hasnât been that good since the accident. She gestured to her veil and gloves âI got caught up in the Blitz and i'm afraid my appearance paid a higher price then by mind.â
Lana felt guilt crawl into her stomach, well at least she didnât outright accuse  her of being a con artist. Besides Coran was a dear friend of the family, there's no way someone would be able to just take over Alluraâs life without him noticing.
âIm sorry, I didnât realise.â
Allura waved her off finally letting go of her skirt âdonât worry about it, ive made my peace with my situation, it is a tad lonely though, people aren't exactly eager to visit the manor these days.â She sounded so sincerely sad that Lana couldnât help but feel for her.
She knew what it was like to lose everything because of a situation out of her control, the war had stolen many things from them, Lana was lucky to keep her beauty at least.
âWell then I suppose I have no choice but to come round for tea, I would invite you to my aunts cottage but they tend to get too excited around anyone they used to know.â
Lana gave her the best smile she could manage and was rewarded by Allura taking her hands and kissing them.
Once again her face turned an interesting shade of red.
âThat sounds simply wonderful Lana, how about Thursday at 8 o'clock?â
Lana had lost her ability to form words so simply nodded earning her a small chuckle in response.
âI donât want to keep you if your busy so ill just see you Thursday?â Allura asked startling Lana out of her stupor.
âYes I should go, but i'll erm see you then I promise.â
Lana stuttered deciding it was best to continue on her way before she made an even bigger fool of herself so mustered up what grace she had to give an awkward curtsy realising that was dumb halfway through and instead turned and hurried on her way hitting herself muttering âstupid stupid stupidâ over and over again until she finally arrived at the police station.
As expected of a small town the police station was fairly quiet this time of day home only to the drunks that were picked up the night before and only now being released to go back to their family or in some cases the church.
Of course one would expect it to be much busier with the number of bodies being dug up but unfortunately since Hannah left and it became national news the investigation had been taken over by some fancy out of state law enforcement that walk around in nice suits and a stuck up attitude to match their overall pompous appearance.
Going off the sour atmosphere in the station no one was too pleased to have the villages first ever big case stolen from under them.
Lana did her best to smile politely as she made her way to reception preparing herself for awkward small talk with someone she really hoped wouldn't recognise her.
âHello im here-â
âIf you got a crime to report fill out the form if not get lost.â
The woman behind the desk looked too young to be working, her slight frame and big doe eyes making her seem like she couldn't be much older than 15 but then again looks can be deceiving. Like the fact that despite wearing big round glasses and squinting at a book in front of her the glass within the frame appeared to be purely decorative and not actually serve any function.
Lana cleared her throat âno actually i'm here about the job. Im expected.â
This time she at least bothered to look up from her book and glanced Lana up and down âwhat they replacing me with some tramp, i've worked here ten years and they bring in some totty to take my jobâ
Lana quickly held up her hands feeling actually pretty threatened by this tiny angry lady âno! No i'm the new consultant im supposed to be working with Keith and-â
âOi Keith! Some broad here says shes your new partner!â She yelled and just like that, all eyes were on her.
Lana smiled awkwardly at them really wishing a hole would appear beneath her and swallow her up whole so she could escape this situation.
However the only thing the universe sent her was a very flustered keith running in from the back.
He was carrying a stack of papers and had that god awful mullet tied back in a ponytail that honestly didn't look half bad on him.
âThanks Katie i can take her from here.â Keith dropped the papers on her desk âAlso Griffin needs you to file these for him.â
âHe could do it himselfâ Katie grumbled grabbing the papers and flicking through them âhe didn't even bother filling some of these out!â
Keith quietly grabbed Lanaâs arm and pulled her towards him as Katie got distracted with her angry mutterings âSorry about her, she's just pissed that her dad lost his job to a hot shot whos dad just happens to be a governor.â
âAh where would be be without nepotismâ Lana chuckled letting Keith led her back into a small office where five other people were sat. She assumed the cells were behind one of the closed doors and perhaps the archive room behind another.
It had been a long time since she had been back here, it was certainly before the war was even a possibility and she had broken the wrong persons window and ended up having to wait for her mother by Corans desk.
People tend to say that places from your youth always seem so much smaller when you visit them again. Until now Lana wasn't really sure she bought into that nostalgia fueled nonsense.
But seeing the row of chairs her feet used to dangel off while she prepared an excuse for her behaviour for her furious mother now looked like they would fall apart if she just got too close let alone sat on one.
At least not all the changes were bad. Coran really did deserve that nice office and the title Detective neatly painted above his name.
âYou know I was starting to think you wouldn't be comingâ Keith said as they came to what Lana assumed was his desk. It was a little away from the others and scattered with paper work in various states of finished. It lacked much personality beyond a couple of knives and oh boy keith standing next to an incredibly attractive man that Lana realised fairly quickly must have been his older brother.
âTo be honest i wasn't sure either, my life kinda went to hell but Aunt Blue and Red practically shoved me out of the door.â
Keith chuckled in response as her perched on the edge of his desk âthat sounds about right. Though I hate to say it but you've kind of come on boring day. Everyones so desperate for something to do that their even taking the grunt work from me.â
âSo what your just sitting around all day?â Lana asked right as a hand collided with her behind.
Lana likes to think herself an understanding woman. Or at least she tries to ever since the instadent where what she thought was a gropper on a train turned out to be a blind man having dropped his cain. So rather then turning around and grabbing the arm of whoever just did that to break over her knee she calmly turned to them.
She came face to face with a tall man that she unfortunately recognised.
James Griffin top of the class when they went to school together and by far the most arrogant man she ever met. And that was before he got a cushy job thanks to his dad.
Lana glared up at him giving him a chance to apologize or say he had mistaken her for his girlfriend that was into that kind of thing.
Instead he just smirked âwow Keith how did you find yourself this hot piece of ass.â
Ok she was going to break his nose now.
Unfortunately before she got the chance keith stepped in front of her âdon't talk to her like that Griffin, Coran hired her himself as a consultant and i'm sure he wouldn't take that kind of behaviour.â
James rolled his eyes but did visibly tense as he shot a glance at the closed office door. âWhatever. This whole thing is just for press, whoever heard of a woman police officer. Their far too emotional.â
âLast I checked you were the one that cried when i kicked you in the nuts as kids.â Lana huffed crossing her arms.
âAh buck teeth Lana! My my you did fill out nicely. How about after work I take you out?â Jame smiled looking her up and down in a way that made her skin crawl.
âHow about I tell your mother that you slap my ass, if i remember right she was a reasonable woman.â
Oh how quickly his attitude changed. He swallowed whatever response he had ready and scurried off to his office next to Corans.
âWhat a creep.â
âYeah but a rich one.â Keith sighed âyou ok?â
âYeah just kinda pissed i didn't get to make that jerk squeal like in highschool.â Lana noticed a small smirk appear at the corner of keiths lips at that and decided to take it as a win even if she could still feel his disgusting hand on her.
Unfortunately the next few hours were not as exciting.
Lana pulled up a chair across from Keith and kept herself busy by flicking pieces of paper at him, an activity that he avoided joining in with for exactly ten minutes.
They were so wrapped up in their game that they didn't notice coran standing next to the desk until after Keith made the winning shot and jumped up to let out a victory cry.
âIt's nice to see you've found a way to keep miss Mclain here entertained during our slow day.â Coran chuckled as Keith startled and quickly cleared his throat trying to hide the blush quickly creeping up his face.
âDetective i can explainâ
Coran held his hand up quickly cutting him off âno need, I understand the importance of a bit of fun to avoid dying of boredom. The time for that has now sadly passed im sending you to look into a missing persons cases.â
Keith and lana exchanged a look, while lanaâs was excitement Keiths was confusion.
âSir while im happy for a case why not give it to someone else? Im sure all the others would kill for a case right now.â
Coran simply chuckled to himself handing over a case file âbecause Kogane your the only officer here I trust not to get side tracked while investigating. That and i'm sure Lana here will make sure your eyes don't wander too far.â
Lana wasn't really sure what he meant by that until they got to the scene of the crime.
Or as everyone else calls it the âGalra Gentlemens Clubâ.
When the club first opened it was met with outcry from the church and the school boards and well anyone with too much time on their hands.
Now after being open for more than a decade, those same people have become the most lucrative clientele, who know stuck up prudes could have such deep pockets for the sinful arts.
Keith had kindly offered to give Lana a ride on the handlebars of his bike since the club was located uphill from the station and there was no way the poor old police car would make it up the whole way. Apparently a replacement was on its way but they had been promising it since before the war.
Lana had of course told Keith that while she appreciate the offer she would find the very idea outlandishly improper, so of course made him ride the handle bars while she put her years of missing the bus and not wanting to be late training to good use.
After a quick check with her compact and a nod to Keith they entered the club.
Lana was no stranger to Gentlemens clubs, she had been to more than a few during the war to meet with people who were usually a lot more willing to give up information when they had a few drinks in them.
This club was no different, everything was a sickening deep purple as if the colour alone could make it classy or hide the disturbingly prominent wet patches on the couches.
Lana tried her very best not to stare at the men already here this early on a weekday morning and instead focused on following Keith back to see the manger.
âJust let me do the talking, guys like this aren't always that nice to womenâ Keith whispered as he knocked on the door and it swung open to not show a greasy man but instead a very tall muscular woman with short black hair wearing a suit.
Lana felt her mouth go dry just looking at her.
âA-are you the manager here?â Keith asked clearly feeling equally intimidated and aroused as Lana was.
âYeah i am, who wants to know?â She asked leaning against the doorway and looking down at him. Her gaze however moved quickly from keith to Lana and a smile spread across her face.
âUsually we don't hire new talent outside of auditions but for  a beautiful girl like you im willing to make an exception.â
âIâ Lana squeaked finding herself speechless for the first time in a long time.
Thankfully Keith came to her rescue before she could actually contemplate working for this greek god of a woman.
âActually we came from the police station. You called about one of the dancers going missing?â
The woman nodded and stepped back into the room hurrying them inside before closing the door.
âYeah my best girl Ezor, she was seen leaving the club last week but no one has seen her since.â
âDoes she often disappear like this? Perhaps to visit a gentleman caller miss...?â Keith asked pulling out a notebook while Lana looked around the office.
âZethridâŚ. And trust me she's not the sorts to make house calls.â
It was fairly empty save for a punching bag in the corner and a few pictures on the walls. Most of them were group shots of all the dancers in costumes. But those actually on the desk seemed only to contain Zethrid and a slim woman with pink hair tied in a high ponytail. It was just the two of them over and over again smiling like they didn't have a care in the world.
âIs this Ezor here?â Lana asked picking up one picture showing the two in the park, judging from the bunting and celebrating in the background it was the day the allie âwonâ the war.
Zethrid nodded âyeah that's her⌠we actually live together and yeah she disappears sometimes but never for this long and never without contacting me.â
âIs it possible she ran off with a sweetheart?â Keith asked taking the picture.
âShe wouldn't. I know she's been taken its the only explanation.â
Something told Lana that this relationship was deeper than friendship âThe last night she was seen, was there anything unusual happening?â
Zethrid thought for a moment ânow that you mention it there was a black car parked outside the club all day. I didn't give it much mind incase it was a customer trying to work up the nerve to come in but it left right after she did.â
âDid you happen to catch the plates?â Keith asked hopefully only to let out a disappointed sigh when she shook her head no.
âBut the car was old looking with a dent in the drivers side door.â
Keith noted it down âthanks we will be in touch.â
He led the way out but Zethrid grabbed Lana by the arm before she could leave âplease i can't imagine life without her⌠she's my best friend.â
Lana knew what it was like to lose one of those. So she smiled and put a hand over hers âI promise ill do everything I can to find her.â
Once they were safely outside keith let out a groan âyou should promise people anything, it just means you'll get attached to the case.â
âIsn't that the job of a detective though? How can i love a case if i don't care about it?â Lana huffed hitching up her skirt and getting on the bike.
âI'm just saying that it will end up hurting you more if we find her dead in a ditch somewhere.â
Lana rolled her eyes âever the optimist huh Mullet. Besides we have a lead how many people in town have old black cars?â
âExcluding the police cruiser i'd say seven.â Keith noticed the sceptical look Lana was giving him and rolled his eyes.
âMy brother owns the mechanics remember, i help out sometimes and not many people really have cars round here.â
Lana sighed âmaybe we should get a second opinion from your dreamy brother.â she batted her eyelashes playfully at him as he climbed onto the handle bars.
âShut up and pedal we've got a lot of groundwork to do.â
Five hours!
It took five hours to find all the cars, to check for dents and alibis.
In that time Lana fell into two ditches, got attacked by a chicken and the rip in her dress traveled up to past her knee.
As her mother would say she's only some red lipstick away from looking like a whore.
Lana wished she could say that time was well spent and while watching Keith getting chased by an angry family of pigeons that had taken resident in one of the old cars they ultimately ended up on a dead end.
So while the light began to fade and the two slowly walked up to the station the mood was sour.
âIt could always have been someone from out of town?â Lana suggested holding the split in her dress to try and keep it from travelling any higher.
âNo they would have been too noticeable. If someone from out of town drove through here everyone would know about it by now. We must have missed something.â
Lana shivered in the cool air and was surprised when Keith handed over his jacket without taking his eyes off the path.
The red really did suit him better but the warmth from his body made her feel better.
âWe should check surrounding houses tomorrow, maybe one of the cars was taken without the owner realising.â
âAnd what they dented it and then undented it?â Keith snorted âno if the dent was fixed it would have had to come through the shop. Shiro may be able to help.â
âI'll try to hide my disappointmentâ Lana laughed earning her a playful push from Keith which she returned.
The two were laughing and having a moment of fun that when cold hard reality finally came crashing down Lana felt like she had been punched in the face.
Just as they walked in the car they were looking for pulled in behind them.
Old, black and with a large dent on the side.
The only problem was that it was Coran driving it.

soon youâll get better.
part 2 to my taylor swift lover album inspired jonsa series. (<--- thats really a mouthful lol)Â
im really excited to get further into the album, but recently, it was one of my best friendâs momâs birthdays, though she passed away about nine years ago now. she was like a second mother to me & i miss her a lot. there were so many days i spent with her while she was sick & a lot of time i spent with her daughters. her younger two girls are like my little sisters.Â
anyways, i originally wasnt even going to INCLUDE this song in the series, but thinking about this âsecond momâ of mine inspired me to write this instead.Â
also, next time, iâm not certain ill follow this same set up.Â
it might be a time skip, it might be an âinspired byâ rather than using the lyrics themselves. who knows! weâll see what happens.Â
hope you guys enjoy. :)Â
It's been several long, grueling weeks without seeing her.
Jon frequents Seasalt Tavern, even on trivia night, if only to catch a glimpse of that shiny red hair. But each night, he's let down. Even now, he hears her song in his brain. The echo of her words, soft and true, sing him to sleep when he closes his eyes each night. She haunts him, in a way no woman has ever done before.
Lunch break. It comes every day, a glorious hour where Jon steps away from his desk if only to stretch his legs. He joined the Westeros Special Forces unit only six months ago, a transfer in from the Northern faction, deciding to head South for a change of scenery post break up. Ygritte had been... Well, a spitfire, to say the least. And hard to forget. Their relationship had been as fiery as her temper and her hair. Yeah, he has a type, so sue him. While he didn't miss the fights and the theatrics of the relationship, he missed being with someone. Ygritte cared about him in her own, weird sort of way, and he misses the companionship she had provided him for nearly three years.
Jon sighs as he steps out into the afternoon sun, deciding the local coffee shop would suffice for lunch today. It's only a short walk up the street and Jon finds himself stepping inside within minutes, the blast of cold air refreshing. Six months in of living in the South and Jon still hasn't quite adjusted to the heat. He misses the icy cold air of the North- somehow, it felt cleaner up there. That ache in your lungs you felt when you took in the first breath of cold, morning air... He misses that almost as much as he misses the fiery warmth of a woman in his bed.
The girl behind the counter smiles and offers a wave- she's a University student, Jon has learned in his time coming here, eager to graduate the following spring and step into a new world as a nurse. "Hey Jon," she greets as he approaches, "the usual?" It's Jon's turn to grin as he nods and turns to head towards his usual table, but is surprised to find it already occupied.
And just like that, there she is.
She's surrounded by notebooks and a textbook or two, though she seems focused on a single notebook. Her red hair is twisted back into braids and tucked up with pins, though a few strands have fallen free to frame her face. Jon sucks in a breath as he watches her for only a moment more, for she looks up then and notices him staring. At once, she sits up straighter, squinting her eyes as recognition spreads across her face. "Hey," she says after a moment, folding her arms over the tabletop as she leans forward. "Jon, right?" She says, though she's not forgotten his name. She's recited it over and over and over again since the night they met. "Nice suit." Her eyes trail him up and down and Jon feels warmth spread to his cheeks, her lip gloss lips curving with a smile. If she notices the gun strapped to his hip, she doesn't mention it.
"Call it a drawback to the job," Jon jokes a moment later when he finally finds his voice again, the sweet sound of her laughter ringing in his ears. His heart soars. "I haven't seen you, at the bar I mean." He says and at once, he regrets it. She sits up straighter, those ocean blue eyes widening ever so slightly as she regards him closely. "I-I mean, they're talking about you. About your song, your voice." Smooth, he thinks as he can only hope a hole opens up on the floor and swallows him up. Just then, the barista appears with his steaming drink, to which he grins and gives his thanks before the girl is gone, leaving him there to probably continue to embarrass himself. But to his surprise, she does not send him away with a scowl or cruel words, rather her face softens and she gestures for him to sit.
"If you want," she says, an offering, her head tilted to the side, the stray strand of hair falling just across her forehead. He wishes he could push it  back, he wishes he could feel it between his fingers. It takes him only a moment to take the seat across from her, his to-go cup warm despite the cardboard slip around it's middle. "I've been busy," she says by way of explanation, a fleeting look of sadness crossing her features as she looks back at him. For some reason, despite not knowing him, Sansa feels as if she can trust him. His dark, solemn eyes give her a sense of hope she's not felt in a long time. "Besides, I couldn't come back without another song."
"So there's another one?" He asks, taking the first sip of his coffee. It's a simple order, a caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso, one which he never deviates from. "Open mic night is next week, isn't it?" She grins and nods, telling him she heard from her friend Margaery about the next date and that she would be there.
"Margaery has been trying to drag me out for weeks now, I haven't-" she stops, realizing she's about to dump something on him that's probably beyond a normal talking point for a first real conversation. As if Jon senses her uncertainty, he offers her a smile and encourages her to go on. "It's my mother..." Sansa shifts in her chair, absently swirling the last swallow of coffee in her mug as she looks anywhere but Jon's face. "She's sick and I... Between taking care of her and my little brothers and sister..." She looks up and it's written all over Jon's face- sympathy, yet understanding. There is no judgment, there is nothing but warmth. Somehow, it's as if she's known him all her life, not a single conversation in a dark bar. "Anyways, Margaery says it's good if I get out sometimes, you know? So I let her drag me out every now and again." She smiles as she thinks of her friend, who she knows loves her dearly. Margaery was a good, no a great, friend and Sansa reminds herself to give her friend a hug.
"I'm sorry... About your mother." Jon says after a moment, knowing the pain of losing a mother, though he doesn't mention such a thing to her. The last thing he wants to do is remind her of what she certainly worries about often. "You have siblings?" He asks instead and is delighted to see the smile brighten up her face as she nods. Â
"Three of them. Two brothers, Bran is thirteen and Rickon is nine. Arya is fifteen." Her little siblings are her entire world. They have always been close, the Stark children that is, especially so in the four years since Robb had died. But even as kids, even with the years between them all, they had always been close. And with her mother's illness and her father's business, it left much of raising them to her. She could not remember a time where she was not with the little ones, though now that they're older and mostly taking care of themselves, she wishes she could go back. It hadn't always been easy, but she loved every moment spent with those little siblings of hers. "What about you?"
Jon smiles when he shakes his head. "I don't have much family at all, well aside for a distant cousin who lives in Essos." He had never known his father and his mother had died when he was just a kid, leaving him to be raised in foster homes until he came of age. "It's just me and Ghost, honestly."
"Ghost?" She asks and Jon can't stop from reaching for his cell phone, pulling up the most recent photo of the big, white dog he means. "A wolf dog?!" She blurts without warning, excitedly reaching for her own phone, which lay beside the notebook she'd been writing in. She taps the screen and shows him the background photo- a family photo of five kids with varying shades of hair, each proudly standing with shaggy pups that were as colorful as them. She draws the phone back towards her and when she hands it back, there's a photo instead of a beautiful gray wolf like dog, who's eyes are more gold than yellow. "That's Lady."
"You all have them?" Jon is surprised- he's never met another person with a wolf dog like Ghost, let alone a family of them.
"My father... He found an entire litter when we were kids," she explains, the memory burned into her brain as if it had happened only yesterday. "My family's sigil is a direwolf, so my father said he couldn't just turn them away. He said they came to us for a reason." For a litter of pups to be born, five pups for the five Stark children, it had surely been a sign from the Old Gods, and so despite her mother's wishes, all the puppies came home to the children. The way he's leaning over the table, he can see the soft curves of her handwriting on the paper- small and neat, her handwriting fits her perfectly. She must notice him looking for she grins and slides the paper towards him. "Next week's song," she says, tapping the top where she's written the apparent name across the top. "I think it's finished... I hope it's finished."
Jon reads only the first few lines before he pushes it back towards her. "I want to hear it when it is," he says and drains the last sip of his drink. "Listen, I have to head back to the office now but I uh... I'll see you next week." He rises up to his feet, the scrape of the chair against the floor the only noise in the room for a single moment. Sansa smiles and yet again, Jon is rendered breathless by her. If only this moment could last forever.
"Yeah, next week," she replies, barely breathing herself.
When Jon approaches the desk to pay for his drink, he tells the barista he wants to pay for her drink too. Though she's surprised, the young woman does as he's bid and waves to him as he takes the receipt and his change and heads for the door. Just as he goes to toss it into the waste bin, he peaks at the receipt and to his surprise, sees that she must have ordered the very same drink as him.
The bar is quiet as Sansa climbs up to the stage again.
Again, accompanied only by her guitar, she gazes out into the crowd of people, smiling down at her brunette friend before she speaks into the microphone. "I had an entirely different song planned for this night a few weeks ago, but my mother... She's sick and she's relapsed so  I wrote this for her." In the long nights beside the hospital bed, the beeping of the machines her only melody, she had penned these lyrics. She had scribbled these lines onto napkins and the back of her hand. She had written this song to remind herself that in the end, her mother would step out of the hospital and home would become home again. Taking a deep breath, she strums the guitar and finds the right note.
And then she sings.
"The buttons of my coat were tangled in my hair In doctor's-office-lighting, I didn't tell you I was scared That was the first time we were there."
Jon sits at the bar again.
It's his usual spot, with his usual drink in hand. He had saw her come in- red hair in curls and her impossibly long legs wrapped in denim- but hadn't got a chance to talk to her. Her friend, Margaery he thinks it is, sits where she sat the first time, but this time the guy she had been crushing on sits beside her, arm around her waist.
The song Sansa sings... He recalls reading those first few lines in the coffee shop but hearing her silky voice singing them makes all the difference. She's stronger this time- less nervous than she must have been the first time around and Jon is surprised when from across the room, their eyes meet.
And he swears his heart must stop.
"Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better Ooh-ah, soon you'll get better Ooh-ah, you'll get better soon 'Cause you have to."
Those words are the soft plea of a daughter to her sick mother, the simple view that there was no other option than to recover. Jon glances around the room and can see there are at least five others in that room who know the feelings she's singing about.
Yet again, Sansa's song is reaching people.
"I know delusion when I see it in the mirror You like the nicer nurses, you make the best of a bad deal I just pretend it isn't real I'll paint the kitchen neon, I'll brighten up the sky I know I'll never get it, there's not a day that I won't try."
One of the women Jon had noticed earlier is openly crying at her table now and he recognizes her as the one who had lost her mother only a month before. Jon recalls that pain himself, despite the years that it's been since he lost his own mother. He can still recall the sweet scent of her perfume, but he's forgotten what her voice sounded like or how warm her arms had been whenever she hugged him. It's been many years since he lost his mother, but the pain of it never goes away. Not entirely.
On the stage, Sansa too sees the woman that cries softly at her table, the man beside her wrapping his arm around her in comfort. She wishes she hadn't made her cry, she feels bad about that, in truth, but there's no stopping now.
"And I hate to make this all about me But who am I supposed to talk to? What am I supposed to do If there's no you? This won't go back to normal, if it ever was It's been years of hoping, and I keep saying it because 'Cause I have to."
As she breaks into the final chords, the final repeat of soon you'll get better, she looks out into the faces around her, wondering just how many of them out there got the message. How many others besides that single woman understood the pain of watching someone they loved go through an illness? Probably too many, she realizes.
When her hand finally falls from the guitar and silence descends, she lets out the breath she's been holding and her heart skips a beat when the first claps begin. And then it's every person in the bar that's clapping, some even cheering as she smiles for them and descends down to join Margaery at the table.
Jon watches as she escapes from her friend and instead crosses the room to approach the other crying woman. They embrace and when Sansa pulls back, the woman holds her at arm's length as they talk. When they finish their conversation, Sansa does not return to Margaery's table but to his shock, she comes towards the bar to stand before him where he sits on his usual stool. "Buy me a drink?" She asks with a grin and for a moment, Jon is too stunned to say anything. Â But then he nods and she slides onto the stool beside him, so close that again he catches the scent of her sweet perfume.
They talk for what could be several hours, Jon seems to have lost track of the time as he sits there with her. It isn't until Margaery approaches her, a touch to her shoulder, a quick but silent it's time to go home. "I have to go," she says, brushing a curl behind an ear, revealing the three little studs she wears in her lobes. "Maybe we don't have to wait until the next mic night to see each other," she grins as she slides a piece of paper towards him as she hops of the stool, a little wobbly after her three drinks. Before Jon can speak, she's rushing after Margaery who waits at the door for her, her guy already out in the lot to fetch the car.
Jon lifts up the piece of paper and he finds his heart is racing as he realizes it's her phone number written there. Pre written, he realizes, meaning she had always intended on giving it to him. He feels warm and it's not just because of the four drinks he's consumed sitting there with Sansa. Okay... That might be partly to blame, but mostly he's just beyond happy. He reaches for his phone and adds her into his contacts list, clicking the new message icon, though he hesitates for a moment. Was it weird if he texted her so quickly? No, he decides, she gave him her number, which meant she wanted him to text her.
And so he taps the message space and begins to type.
Sansa is climbing into the backseat of the car when her phone beeps.
She fishes it out of her purse and her heart skips a beat when she sees it is a number not yet saved to her contacts. "He texted you? Already?" Margaery is excited in the front seat, the one who had encouraged Sansa to talk to him that night, the one to write down her phone number for Sansa to give to him. "I told you," she mumbled as she turned back around, smiling to herself as she thinks of the way the dark haired, brooding sort of man had been staring at her friend both last time and tonight. After the last relationship Sansa had been in, she deserved someone who looked at her like this Jon looked at her.
On Sunday's I take Ghost to the dog park. Maybe Lady would like to join him?
Sansa smiles and types a quick reply.
Just as he's sliding off the stool that his phone lights up on the bar. Jon can't help but to chuckle when he sees her response.
Lady would love that, but I hope I'm invited. đ
When she reads his response, she's grinning, a strange warmth filling her up, threatening to spill over. Â Sorry, I forget how to act when I think about cute dogs owned by cute girls. Another text comes before she can reply to the first. Â I'll see you and Lady both there, say noon?
She nods, though he can't see, and hits send on her own message.
Jon climbs into his car and hears the beep of her reply. Â We'll see you there. :)
He drives himself home and it isn't until he's settled into his apartment that he realizes his phone went off without him noticing. Unlocking the screen, he's surprised to see it's a picture message, rather than just a normal text. This is how she looks at me when I tell her we have plans tomorrow. The picture is of Lady asleep on the couch, or at least pretending to be, as she has one yellow eye open looking up at Sansa who must be leaning over her to snap the picture. We're going to bed, see you tomorrow. I promise she's as excited as I am. Her next text comes a moment later and Jon grins down at Ghost, reciting the message aloud to the dog. "She's excited..." He murmurs as he sinks back into the couch, not fully prepared to head to bed.
In her bedroom, stripped down to nothing but a t-shirt, Sansa is climbing into bed when her phone vibrates on her bedside table. Reaching for it, she blinks against the brightness of her screen so she can read Jon's last message. Ghost on the other hand... A pause and then the photo comes, making her smile as she clicks it to enlarge it. It's of the great big white wolf, grinning like only a dog can, clearly excited by something Jon is doing or saying. Sleep tight, girls, comes last and as Sansa curls up beneath her blankets, she smiles to herself, not yet daring to believe that this is entirely real. Jon seems almost too good to be true. Though, she supposes there's only one way to figure it out. She hasn't dated in well over a year... Not since Joffrey... But something tells her Jon is the farthest type from Joffrey that could ever possibly be.
As she closes her eyes, she thinks of him, of those deep set brown eyes, and falls asleep.

Silence is golden
Drake: Hey you guys want to see one of my adventures from last week? Than take a seat and open those ears up cause have i got a story for you.
In the city of Etrinitat on the corner of main and etheral st a two story old-fashioned wooden establishment sits. The sign a top the doors reads, Alpha & Omega, Bar and grill. Inside was a bustling collection of mobians big and small from avians to deep diggers to the deepest underwater divers. A female dark red wolf is behind a bar counter serving older customers liquor drinks and scaring off under age kids. She has two blue stripes under her sea blue eyes and her hair like fur is done in a single massive braid. Shes wearing a sleevless leather jacket with a tank top underneath, dark blue skin tight jeans and spiked boots on her feet.
"Mom im cutting out early today." A maroon colored male wolf with hedgehog quills barely extending from his head says to the female. He has a black stripe going down the only two quills he has and the same matching blue stripes under his glowing amber eyes. The male is in a sleevless parka, black zipper boots, and gloves with a slightly raised bump on the knuckles.
"Yeah and do what my son?" She asks. Turning to him after serving another customer. The boy places down a crystal double tapping it so a hologram of a bounty appears. Its of a raccon with a list of crimes.
"Drake this guy is an sociopath with a hard on for killing hunters and civilians. Not to mention he probably has a following with him." The woman says.
"Mom i know this. Its the reason i took the job in the first place. You know physical attacks either don't connect or do any real damage, not to mention I'm probably one of only two other people in this building who can actually get close to him." Drake says.
"Sky let the boy go. He needs to learn to take care of himself anyway, and he cant do that if you hold him back from jobs or doing them alone." A purple hedgehog says from the door leading to the kitchen. Her eyes are normal amber compared to the boys, her quills done in a ponytail are greying slightly at the tips as they stop just past halfway down the door. She has a single white stripe on top of her head down her middle quill and a black stripe down each of her outer quills. Shes dressed in sports top and short, and hightop shoes with a chef outfit over it all.
"Thank you Aunt Aura. See mom even Auntie thinks i should give at least one solo job a shot. Look if it doesnt turn out to well than i will not ask again to take a solo. But if it does than can you please just let me do my own every now and then?" Drake asks his over protective mother. Sky bites her lip wanting to say no but knowing they both have a point.
"Fine. But if you get into any trouble trigger the flare and your brother will be there to back you up." Sky says locking a braclet around her second sons wrist.
"Will do ma. Alright ill be back in a couple days. He's in the grassland plains. How he hasnt been caught already, besides his psychotic nature, ill be finding out soon enough." Drake says picking up the crystal and running out the door. He kicks into high gear once outside the bar and runs across the city in a minute flat to the west wall gate.
By nightfall Drake has finally escaped the great forest that surrounds his home and the city. He groans stretching.
"Damn i really wish i had dads super speed, but no, it went to Scarlet and Inferna only. Me and Bane gotta push just to keep up and i have to push harder since Bane can clear the forest in minutes thanks to his wings." Drake grumbles to himself as he stretches his sore legs. A orb flies out from his jacket.
"Oh stop complaining. Your compensation for these little differences is me and our shared abilities. After all none of them can use the Astral plane, like i told you to use, to travel nearly instantly." A feminine voice says from the orb.
"I got excited and forgot ok. No need to chew my head off Aster. Besides wheres the adventure in instant travel? If we had we wouldn't had to chase away those pups from the cargo transport and kept supplies running to the city." Drake says to the orb. The feminine voice huffs and returns to his jacket.
"Fine but when this job is done we go home my way. Last thing we need is for you to lose your prey fending off adolescent feral wolves again." Aster says before going silent again. Drake chuckles as he starts running again headed to the city of the plains Primous.
Day break arrives and Drake yawns from his room inside a old fashioned inn. He arrived around midnight in the city and could only find this building to rest in. He stretches getting a few pops in his back from sleeping on the lumpy mattress. He grunts as he gets up off the bed and walks to the sink in the room. He spashes ice cold water in his face and reaches into one of his inner jacket pockets. Seemingly deeper than it looks he pulls out some morning hygiene tools.
Half an hour later Drake heads down to the main floor and walks out waving bye to the shop keep. The town is now bustling with buisness, cars driving by pedestrians walking around and kids heading to schools nearby. Drake smiles as he jumps up onto the roof and takes in a birds eye view of the city. Whistling as the crowded busy streets clog up in the mornng traffic. A few sky scrapers litter the city and a few cathedrals, his targets usual dumping sites. Smirking Drake jumps from the building and lands on the sidewalk, he heads into the deeper parts of town blending in as much as he can.
Three hours later Drake is stopped at the last cathedral in the city.
"The place where it all started. A city inspector came to check on the building and found several dead bodies placed in various forms of worship. The cops caught video footage of the raccoon in question shortly after the bodies were found in other cathedrals. Mobians have been scared of this place ever since and the neighborhood has been evacuated do to that fear." Aster says while Drake stands by the doors.
"And some mobians have come to worship him as a new messiah with the messages he's left with the last seven victims. I wonder why is it than that they cant trace his signal during the 'Prayer' as its been labeled. Someones gotta have a clue to where this loon is." Drake mumbles as he stares at the gothic doorway of the church. He scratches his head as he turns around and bumps into a young female raccoon.
"My bad little lady didnt see you there." Drake says taking a knee to help her up. She shakes her head with a small smile as she takes his hand of help. Drake smells the blood and goes wide eyed for a second before passing out from a needle in his neck. Aster stays silent as Drake passes out.
"See momma I caught the bad man after daddy." The raccoon girl says pulling the needle out and waving at a bush. The female fox that ran the inn Drake slept at walks out.
"Good girl. Now lets get him inside before anyone sees." The fox says grabbing Drake by his feet.
An hour later Drake groans awake strapped to a table with a light glaring down at him. He thinks back to what happened before he fell out. The flash back coming back he sighs and grinds his teeth a little.
"Seems someone is noticing his mistake." Aster says. Drake glares at his jacket quickly and than lays back.
"Cant blame you for that one, i deserved it. Guess the bait was too good for him to pass up." Drake mutters under his breath to Aster. She snorts in reply and Drake feels something hovering over his hands.
"Not yet, let the bait settle a little more. But if you feel like im in trouble...feel free to get dirty." Drake says the sensation leaves his wrist as Aster sighs. Drake whistles a tune from his childhood as he waits for the next half an hour till his target appears. A four foot tall raccon with well built frame wearing a priests robe.
"Hello my little sheep. Glad to see your comfy in your protective bindings." The raccoon says.
"Well you left me on this slab with nothing to get comfy with so i made do." Drake replies.
"Heh you are quite the talkative type arent you little sheep." He says.
"No shit Sherlock, I've been stuck up here for half an hour with nothing to do but whistle an old lullaby." Drake says
"Hmm, do you know why you are here little-"
"Call me little sheep one more time and I'm gonna tear a hole through your windpipe." Drake interrupts the raccoon getting tired of that comendering tone that follows the words.
"Fine than hunter, i assume you are here for my head but it seems you're about to lose yours." The raccoon says dropping the fatherly tone to his true thug accent. He walks towards a table with a bloody cloth over it and powerlines leading out from underneath it.
"You assume I'll lose my head here, but let me ask you, do you know why i didn't tear your daughter in half before the needle touched my skin? Or why I didn't drag your wife out of the bushes when they hid behind me?" Drake asks making the raccoon stop in his tracks. Aster uses the moment to slice the straps lightly, enough that they can be broken with even the slightest move. The raccoon turns around glaring at Drake.
"Dude you think I didnt notice the table setting in the back of the inn? Or that i was being followed from cathedral to cathedral? Not to mention your ladies eyes when she heard me say i was a hunter." Drake says. The raccoon looks confused.
"Than why did you allow yourself to be captured?" He asks walking over to Drake puzzled now.
"Honestly i didnt know you would send your own flesh and blood to capture me, that threw me for a loop for a second. But its just how I hunt by myself. I dont go looking for prey i let them come to me." Drake finishes with a grin freeing his hand and grabbing the raccoon by his robe and tossing him over the table with the power tools. Drake quickly curls into a spin dash to free himself and stands up on the floor. Two gunshots in his direction make him turn towards the firing squad of the wife and child. Rubbing the bridge of his nose Drake summons Aster in physical form. A scythe blade with a gap where its connected to the curved staff, a smaller blade growing out the opposite side. Gold trimm visibly and bulbously formimg a drip down pattern down the staff till it reaches the bottom where the gold turns into a spear point.
Drake spins the scythe around in his hand as he walks towards the two females. Bullets bounce off the scythe like rubber as Drake gets closer to them. Once the ammunition is out Drake stops spinning the scythe and grabs a point on the foxes collar bone that sends her to sleep. He back steps the small Raccoon and slams the wood down across her back before striking her several times with his fingers in specific locations to immobolize her and put her to sleep as well.
"Now that the peanut gallery is take care of, where were we?" Drake asks gibing Aster one final spin before resting her against his shoulder. The male Raccoon has stumbled back on the floor.
"You are some sort of Demon, you must be!" He exclaims. Drake snorts as he grips Aster with both hands.
"Hear that Aster, he thinks we're demons." Drake says. A shimmer from the balde makes the Raccoon back up more.
"Ah if only he could hear me, id havea few choice words for him to show him how demon like we are." Aster says to Drake. Drake grins watching as the man scrambles for a knife. He stops a few feet away from the raccoon whos now on his feet with a serrated blood covered machete. Drake leans one foot forward and one foot back, lowering Aster to hover above the floor he holds her with both hands at the ready to swing. The raccoon charges at Drake like a scared child wildy swinging the machete. Drake waits till hes within two feet of them and swings Aster in an upward arc going right through him, than coming back down in the opposite direction. He side steps as the raccoon passes him still swinging scared. Drake finishes by slicing aster through his neck. All three attacks leave no mark on the raccoon whos confused as he felt the blade go through him all three times.
"Im gonna give you two options now psycho. Come quietly and live out your days in a jail cell nice and comfy. Or." Drake says snapping his fingers. The cuts slowly form where the blade touched, not deep like they should be but enough that they are drawing faint amounts of blood.
"I let your cuts form fully to the point of no return." Drake says making a slicing motion with his thumb across his throat. The raccoon gasps in pain feeling the sensation of the two across his body getting deeper agonizingly slowly.
"Please, just stop the pain! Take me in but stop this torture." He begs. Drake raises a brow and steps over to the writhing raccoon.
"You think this is pain? You think i should show you mercy that you never showed to twenty others? No this isnt pain and suffering, this isnt torture yet little sheep." Drake says makimg the raccoon look up at him for a moment. In that moment drake showed him something few others see unless he wants them too.
"Remember you know nothing of suffering, pain, or torture. I'll take you in but you nore your family will remember the other. Of that i will make sure of." Drake says lifting Aster and slamming the spear point down onto his targets head.
Drake: No i didnt kill the guy. Aster can sever bonds and memories with her spear point. I simply took all threes memories of being together from the point of the killings. The wife thought he had left her and the child and thats the way it will stay while the shit rots his life away in prison now. And quick note from the mun that no more stories this week. He'll have more ready next week but this week he will be focusingnon his other project. If you want to Rp with us we can do that or answer questions. But no stories for the next six days.

confession. | yang jeongin
pairing â jeongin x gender neutral!reader
genre â all the fluff!!!!
wc â 2000
summary â jeongin has a flowery love language.
warnings â jeongin being a happy boi, prepare yourself!
a/n â a really late tribute to jeonginâs birthday bc i was inactive at the time. enjoy!
i know that the term is florist not flower boy
but flower boy sounds cuter
so here we go
jeongin!!! is the cutest flower boy ever
heâs always enjoyed nature - especially flowers
heâs kept his fascination for flowers a secret because doesnât want to be the butt of flower-related jokes and mockery
but whenever heâs at home, heâs searching up different flowers and their meanings
he genuinely finds it cool that he knows so much about flowers even though no one else really knows about it
his parents know about it and use it to their own advantage
a.k.a gardening is a jeongin-only job
and honestly he doesnât mind because his parents let him buy his favourite flowers (within a reasonable price, of course)
as long as he waters them and takes care of them himself
and he is more than happy to do that!!
he actually prefers doing all the work instead of his parents doing it
partially because he wants them to relax after working all day
but mainly because this one time
he came back in the late evening after hanging out with his friends
and he saw his mum watering his plants
but she was drowning them in water
he literally shrieked and his mum got scared, dropping the hose straight into the flower bed
making everything worse
and jeongin sprinted over, turning the hose off from the nozzle and ushering his mum inside
he actually went around apologising to all the plants as he finished off watering them
his love for flowers magnified when he saw a leaflet on the school bulletin about the local florist looking for another employee
as soon as the bell for the end of school rang, he ran out of there, barely shouting his good-byes to his friends as he ran out
heading straight to the florist, obviously
the building was actually a florist and a cafe in one
as soon as he entered, the owner greeted him
âhey mrs. lee, you didnât tell me you were hiring!â
o f c o u r s e, he knew the owner
she was the one that had told him practically everything he knew about flowers
he made his way to the counter where the middle-aged woman was
she told him it was a spur of the moment thing as her son, taehyung, had gotten accepted into a far university so he couldnât work here anymore
he sat at the counter as she made him a quick hot chocolate, talking about their days and such
âi ran through the park to get here and im pretty sure they put in some new hydrangeas, they looked so prettyâ
âah really? take a picture for me next time! and, what do hydrangeas show?â
he loved how she would always test him on the meanings of flowers because the meanings of flowers were always so overlooked, but he loved the deeper connotations that each flower held
âhydrangeas show boastfulness and vanity but can also show a lot of gratitude and prosperity.â
âcorrect! gosh, how do you learn all of these so quickly, you smart boy?â she chuckled, her compliment making jeongin grin
the place was fairly quiet, only a few people there with their heads down, working or eating
he hadnât realised an hour had past that quickly as more people made their way in
someone else had taken over the counter role
so he and mrs. lee initiated a deep conversation about hydrangeas and were they came from when someone called out
âhey mrs. lee!â
they both turned around to see you walking in
and, of course, jeongin knew who you were
you were the only person other than mrs. lee and taehyung that mainly worked in the florist half of the building
if business was busy you would help out the cafe side, but otherwise he would see you in the back room with the flowers, reading the book of flowers mrs. lee kept there
thatâs what he had also used to learn the meanings of the flowers
he couldnât help but find your growing interest in flowers super cute
and he appreciated the fact that you kept his love for flowers a secret
so he may or may not have kindled the smallest crush on you
maybe not the smallest, but he wasnât about to confess his feelings for you just yet
âjeongin we go to the same school, howâd you get here before me?â you laughed, putting on your name tag and work apron
âi ran here straight after school,â he laughed nervously as you rolled your eyes at his excitement.
âhey you didnât tell me mrs. lee was hiringâ jeongin pouted as you stood next to said lady
âhey, jeongin, mrs. leeâs hiring, you should apply-â
âha ha youâre so funny y/nâ
âwell, iâm not hiring anymore,â mrs. lee started
cue a sad jeongin: âwait!!!! youâre not??? :((( why???â
âwell, iâve already found a great employee - theyâre definitely the most flower-loving person iâve ever metâ
âoh.â he got really sad at that, thinking that people must have applied earlier since mrs. lee didnât interview anyone in front of him
âum... mrs. lee, i donât think he understands that heâs the new employeeâ
oH
it took a little while for your sentence to process in his mind before the biggest grin took over. âof course iâll accept!!!! when do i start???â
you and mrs. lee both laughed at his hyperactivity
âhow about y/n shows you the ropes and you work out your shift timings, yeah? y/n, could you also teach him some of the basics for the cafe too?â
you both nodded, before heading over to the back room
he was like a child in a sweets shop when he entered (despite this not being his first time back here)
âwelcome to HQ, jeongin; this place is gonna be your second home, although iâm pretty sure it already wasâ you quipped making jeongin laugh
he sat back in the spinning chair as you went onto the computer
he watched as you printed off his name for his name tag and his smile never faded as you did so, the whole process seeming so official. this was like a dream come true for him
you both sat together working out the timetable and you taught him how to properly put flowers in a bouquet and where all the accessories and tools were
he was really quick to remember everything you had told him
when the cafe got a bit busier, you left to help out on that half, putting him in charge of the flower side, tellling him to call you in case a customer came
you returned to jeongin just as a couple had come to the florist, asking for a simple bouquet of a dozen roses
he was like the perfect little helper, running off to get the roses as soon as the word had left the customerâs mouth
he had laid them out perfectly, along with the wrapping materials and gold ribbon
and he watched intently as you wrapped everything up perfectly
he was over the moon when you let him tie the ribbon around the whole bouquet and hand it over to the customers
âhere you go! 12 roses to say âi love youâ; please come again soon!â :DD
the couple giggled at jeonginâs cheerfulness
and you couldnât help but admire him too
admittedly, you had thought he was super cute - the times you had seen him in school, he was on the shy side, but here, he was constantly exuding happiness
and you loved how passionate he was about flowers because you could see, very clearly, that he put his all into whatever he loved
months had past now with you two working side by side, stealing cookies from the cafe and testing each otherâs nature knowledge
jeonginâs the biggest sweetheart ever!!!
getting this job has combined two things he loves: flowers and you!! the cringe
heâs always telling you (and the customers) facts about different flowers and itâs really astonishing how much he knows about them
it makes you sad that heâs kept this all a secret
because you find it endearing and others should too :(
you guys see each other more often in school now too
and so youâve become a lot closer and heâs definitely become someone you can trust
so one day, when you and mrs. lee are the only ones in the florist
(itâs jeonginâs day off, he deserves a break ok!!)
you come in, get your apron and name tag and just start tidying up the place a bit
mrs. lee really isnât the tidiest of people
and neither is jeongin
and you hear someone ring the little bell on the counter, so you leave the back room and all you see is a massive bouquet of flowers ????
thereâs no one there, just a large bouquet of different flowers on the counter
seeing as there werenât that many people, you didnât stay at the counter
instead, you went to the back room, pulling out that massive book of flowers and their meanings
as much as jeongin was helping you learn the flowers, you werenât an expert like him just yet
after a lot of page skimming, you managed to identify all of the flowers
and wow!!! you were internally screaming!!! the whole bouquet was the embodiment of goodness
wrapped up ever so beautifully were:
alstroemerias - the flowers of friendship
white carnations - flowers of innocence and pure love
gerbera daisies - representing cheerfulness
blue irises - showing hope and faith
stock - for lasting beauty, happy lives and affection
light and deep pink roses - expressing admiration, joy and gratitude
and finally, dark lavender roses, for regal majesty, splendor, fascination and adoration
although you werenât a professional, anyone that linked the meanings of the flowers together could tell that this was a special bouquet, with its intricately-picked combination
innocence, love, admiration and gratitude???? did you have a secret admirer??
you went out to find mrs. lee to ask her if she knew anything about this - or, even, if she had seen the person
as soon as she saw you, she smiled and then coughed, as though trying to hide her smile
âwhat have you got there, dear?â
âwell, i was hoping you could help me??â
she took a closer look at the flowers, a full smile gracing her features, âwhat a lovely bouquet, you mustâve really captured someoneâs heart, huh?â
âyeah, i guess, did you maybe see who it was though?â
âiâm afraid not, but that it some lovely wrapping, donât you think?â she winked, before walking away,,,, rather cryptically,,,
you found it odd that she pointed out the wrapping of all things
you thought she wouldâve started a speech about all the flowers there because sheâs just as big a flower fan as jeongin
jeongin,,,, you were really hoping it was him who had gifted you the bouquet
but that would mean he would like you??
you didnât want to raise your hopes, until. . .
you noticed the wrapping
more specifically, the ribbon tying the bunch together
the ribbon with the exact logo of the florist you were currently in
and the only people that had access to the ribbon was yourself, mrs. lee and jeongin
you certainly hadnât given it to yourself
and you highly doubted mrs. lee was in love with you
which only left. . .
y a n g j e o n g i n
and you knew exactly what kind of message to give him back
âhey jeongin whatâs that on your locker??â
he looked to where seungmin was pointing and he saw
âa tulip i thinkâ he bit his lip to hide his smile, untaping the flower from his locker
âwhy would someone do that?â seungmin asked
âno clueâ he shrugged his shoulders
Tulips - representing the first declaration of love in Victorian flower language.
