Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names

You know what bothers me so much about AI bots?

Before the 2K16 Tumblr Porn Ban, RP accounts ran rampant on this site and you know what people would do? Run up into their inbox and ask them whatever questions they wanted to ask, engage with them, and have fun doing it.

I guess as someone who loved RPing and did so for many years through many characters on this Hellsite, it irks me seeing people run to AI bots to get this sad, artificial facsimile of what we used to have for free, where really talented and hardworking writers would take the time to embody a character and were willing to interact with randos in the inbox asking all sorts of inane questions--and we did it because it was fun, it was enjoyable, and it helped us stretch our creative muscles too.

Now it’s these AI bots, and people are chatting with them and trying to like...I dunno, have fun or whatever, but you can’t convince me that it’s not training them for some other nefarious purpose. Like I fully believe that it’s going to come back and bite everyone in the ass and screw society over a thousandfold.

I just really wish RP culture would return to Tumblr the way it used to be. I really miss it.

Do you ever think about how almost all of N’s Pokémon throughout the first games were one offs he released after he battled you, how he cared about them all deeply enough that he thought it would be selfish to have them battle more than necessary. And do you ever think about how this is the case with all his Pokémon EXCEPT his Klinklang in the final battle at the league, where the second to last battle he had a Klink and this Klinklang is very likely that same Pokémon? Do you think this was a visual representation of his mindset wavering from a fixed point? How that Klink refused to leave him right away and he couldn’t bring himself to force them to leave because his mind is in so many different directions? He can keep them around just a little longer until he becomes champion, it won’t be long, he can bend things some so long as he doesn’t fully stray from his path…right?

Or is that just me am I the only one willing to be insane about Klinklang of all Pokémon
