Biology class was interesting and understandable today; I managed to participate a lot! (Despite it being 8am-) And we continued discussing the chicken/turkey thing, adding another bird to our list of examples🦜We’re supposed to write a review on The Circle during tomorrows English lesson and were allowed to start during todays lesson. I got done with mine before todays lesson ended so I’ll prolly spent the remaining time tomorrow reading :)

Other than that I had my first library shift since mid November(?). I wasn’t especially looking forward to it but I also wasn’t dreading the shift. Drilled a hole into one bench (don’t question it, the library is literally a construction site at this point…), put stickers onto and gave out a few books and put everything else back into its place. I felt rather poorly afterwards though, the shift was quiet and went by quickly but for some reason it made me feel rather uneasy.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to tomorrows therapy session, I’m currently trying to get by with eating more chocolate than is probably healthy and skipping my last class of the day🍫

I’ve been soooo sick. I actually dropped my math class because I was getting behind already and wanted to prioritize my major/minor courses.

Studied a tiny bit today but was mostly knocked out. Didn’t get a lot done, but it was nice to feel like I was getting back into life.

study diary —

A late post to reflect on yesterday. I didn’t get much done.

I went to the doctor in the morning and spent most of the day trying to track down a pharmacy with my medication in stock. Most are still out of it.

I finally found one, and my doctor sent my prescription to them. They filled it, and I made it to their pick-up line exactly 6 minutes before they closed.

By the time I got home it was 20:30, and I was both mentally and emotionally exhausted from the chaos and uncertainty of tracking down something essential for my well-being.

I chose to prioritize my mental health, and spent the evening reading in bed with my cats. I don’t feel guilty for this decision, nor do I regret it, but I do have a lot to do today.

Some of the best advice I was given by a professor was to remove the words "hope to, plan to, may, wish, etc" and replace them with "I will, I am, I have, etc." Instead of telling people I hope to get my masters degree, I have learned to tell them I will. This does not mean you can never change your mind of course, but it helps to build credibility with yourself and the belief that your goal is achievable. If you are truly unsure if you want something it's ok to stick to neutral terms! But if you know you want something stop taking the power from yourself. You can do it, and you will.

I'm back, now I have to build discipline to study, not just to work. I really want to aplly to a very hard test, try a new job, because of the better salary.

It is hard because I love my current job, but I don't want to be an academic, so it is not the right path for me.

I'll try my best!

finished my term paper📑

I did it!! 4623 words, 13 pages in total and 2 Saturday nights spent actually writing the thing. I’m pretty happy with the results and hope my teachers thinks so too.

Gotta talk about the fails of it though- I forgot all human needs and was starving afterwards…had Burek as a midnight snack :) then I wanted to print out my term paper but guess what: my printer died on page 3/13. mid sentence. great. it keeps trying to start printing but then it crashes and tries again and so on…I’ll try to fix it tomorrow morning, for now I sent my teacher a pdf so I at least have it handed in that way.

I felt so physically awful today, but I tried my best anyhow. Even working this hard, the assignments did not get turned in on time. Still, I know that come tomorrow I’ll be grateful to myself for getting most of it done today, even if it’s going to be a little late.

I really wish I’d made time for something fun, but those study breaks were either resting and hoping I was okay or catching up on chores. 😵‍💫

My final papers are coming up now, so instead of outlining I’ve been reading up on my feminist philosophy yet again.

I adore it here, watching people overwhelming passionate about their education is never embarrassing. I used to get discouraged to be here, that I’m not at a good enough university, get good enough grades, or that I haven’t bought every item on an aesthetic list curated by a stranger.

Maybe physically, I already have everything I need.

Hey!! It’s been so long but I’m going to start updating my studyblr again!! The community is so wholesome and supportive, it would be great to be part of it. I’m currently really behind but I spent most of this snowy day knocking old assignments and chores off of the to-do list. Next is catching up on the 19 things I already have missing. Only a month into the semester and 19?!?!?! A few days ago I had 26 so progress is being made, slowly. I have school tomorrow too :( anyway! I’ll probably post again later tonight after I’ve spent 15 hours staring at my computer screen. This chair is comfy asf though so hopefully I make it out with minimal back problems and no great loss of eyesight. Lesson up: Labor, Farmers, and Populism- APUSH 😕
