Each time I check my activity and see a bunch of likes and hardly any reblogs, I feel so baffled. What prevents you people from reglogging stuff? It's not like your tumblr blog is your portfolio which you're going to show to your potential employer, and if he will see a post he doesn't approve, he's not going to hire you. And I hope that none of you has someone breathing down your neck, peeking behind your shoulder at what's happening on your screen.
Your blog is your maximum fun personal space, so if you enjoy the post you see, why not reblog it? It doesn't have to happen each and every time. but just consider doing it more often? Please? Pretty pleasse with a cherry on top?
"Oh, but I have 0 followers, so reblog is pointless". No! It's never pointless! On tumblr reblogging is a gesture of generosity and appreciation. Whether it's a textpost, art, shitpost, whatever, your reblog will always mean a lot to creator.
"Oh, but I want to keep my blog for X and not for Y". Create a sideblog. Create a secret sideblog and never share a link anywhere if you need.
"Oh, but reblogging is bad". Honey, it's not REPOSTING, it's REBLOGGING. You don't steal content, you use reblog button, original creator is linked properly, all is good.
"Oh, but I use likes to mark posts that I've already seen" (I'm not making this up, btw, I've actually seen someone saying it) Oookay? Why though? Listen, you can like as much as you want, but still, please, consider reblogging more often.
"Oh, but I'm showing my support by liking every post in my fandom" (actually seen this one too) Ooookay-2? It's a good intention, but you will be a mightier supporter and a cooler cat if you reblog stuff, just so you know. You don't have to regblog every post, but consider. doing it. more. often.
"Oh, but--" But what? Did I miss something? Seriously, come share your resaon, start a quarrel in the comments, feel bold and reblog this post, do whatever.
When it's only likes, this site feels so silent, it feels like talking to a wall.
I'm tagging this post with my current fandoms, because the situation is disastrous here, I'm sick and tired of seeing great art getting less love and attention than it deserves. But also with my old fandoms and maybe other tags, because from what I've seen, tumblr is going through some shitty stage all over.

Sometimes you see a post that makes you want to sleep for a century cause of the sheer 'missing the point' of it all.
#dragontalk#eat the rich isn't about shitty content creators who are charging A Fee to access their content#unless they're exploiting the folks they hire to produce or host that content#alienating their fans sucks but THAT'S NOT WHAT EAT THE RICH IS#y'all say eat the rich and be like 'i you say eat the rich and expect us to spare you' like#i don't think the ghost bros are fuckin ellen tier#or even Fucking. Markiplier tier of wealth?#like. it doesn't mean to just eat folks who landed in a nice spot making art or a nice job who could afford a house and a yard#it's the ceos of companies who report record profits while laying off their workers by the hundreds#it's creators who TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR WORKERS TO MAKE A PROFIT#or even take advantage of their Fans to make a profit#the dumb ghost bros aren't taking advantage of folks or selling some sham pyramid scheme thing or anything#it sucks putting their shit behind a paywall especially when folks are looking for that entertainment but#of all the entitled bullshit#you aren't. Owed. access to a Creator's work. even if they've gotten more popular.#you are owed transparency and honesty and maybe even the vague assumption that those involved in the endeavor are being treated fairly#but if fuckin hussie put homestuck behind a 10 dollar a month paywall thay would stil suck but it STILL wouldn't be eat the rich#y'all gonna to after neil gayman for charging for books now? for good omens and shit???#just. i GET the frustration but if there is a revolution we need to tie these folks up for a bit (loony toons style. not like. prison)#and be like#' y'all. y'all. chill. rip out the throat of idk. netflix CEOs or paramount or whatever'#just. thus post was initially going to be gauging my eyes out with marx's rusty spoons but i haven't read enough marc myself#to feel comfortable making that joke

Hello, gamers!
I’m Mel (they/them), co-host of the upcoming podcast Nextdoorstuck!
I’ve had a special interest in Homestuck since 2012 (and all I got was this FREE dave strider living in my brain) but my wonderful girlfriend Ali (she/her) has somehow escaped the last several years of cohabitation unburdened by webcomic knowledge beyond “they don’t have arms, and there is someone called the mayor who is Just A Little Guy.”
That being said, we have embarked on the daunting and exciting journey to read the entirety of Homestuck together! Every week, we will read a chunk of pages (posted here in advance if you’d like to read along!) and discuss them together in Nextdoorstuck — a podcast releasing every Monday, starting February 13th, 2023!
Join us to unlock core memories, or attempt to cobble together an understanding of a truly bananas story via the commentary of some lesbians on the internet! Either way, we look forward to sharing this journey with you!
(Keep up with the podcast by following this blog, or subscribe to our Youtube channel to be the first to hear each episode! <3)

I've been really wanting to make a homestuck sideblog because i feel that the current state of the peoples' opinion and art about the whole thing is just sooooo awesome but also I deeply deeply respect my mutuals who are uncomfortable with the mere mention of the comic. I am just soooo lazy about making a new blog (ironic because I've made like 20 blogs in my time here at least but now as I age I just get more tired of the process- harder to compartmentalize my interests perhaps?)
Please do not get mad at me. If I never was interested in homestuck I for real would never have made a tumblr account at all - I made this one looking for homestuck fan content. And brother, I found it. And then I was like "mmm homestuck cringe" and like, it still is. But I'm getting more okay w being cringe over time I guess

The notion of Scary Go Round being adjacent to Homestuck...I think you shifted my reality.
(In reference to this post / my tags)
Ok not to sound totally old-fashioned but this was not in a thematic way or anything!
Back in the day I used to like Dinosaur Comics. At the time, I would read webcomics by sitting at a computer in the morning and checking the ones I kept up with, like a newspaper. I regularly read Dinosaur Comics (updated daily i think?), XKCD, Gunnerkrigg Court, Scary Go Round, Questionable Content, and that sort of thing. Sometimes there’d be updates to other ones I liked, like Buttercup Festival or Hark! a Vagrant. It would take ten minutes, and that was Morning Computer Time.
At the time webcomic artists all knew each other, and the old-fashioned desktop computer browsing design meant that you were looking at them on a big screen, which meant the sidebars were visible. The sidebars would contain links to all of their friends’ comics or recommended comics. There would only ever be like 20 links max. so every day you would read Dinosaur Comics and could, from there, click the sidebar in the left to get to the creator’s own favorite comics. Dinosaur Comics was a good day’s starting point since it linked directly to pretty much all the webcomics I listed above.
(I’m sorry if I’m over explaining or under explaining this.)
(This was before social-media-ized internet was popular, and this was just how you read stuff.)
There was also something TopatoCo / a guy called Jeff who had his own webcomic that I read sometimes, but more importantly he was a central point that sold merchandise for a bunch of these comics, and I bought a Jonathan Colton t-shirt from him. He sold a line of Problem Sleuth/MS Paint adventures stuff and I remember this coming up suddenly in advertising newsletters I got I think. problem sleuth went from 0 to 60 very quickly, but I never really understood it.
Anyway, MS Paint adventures was linked in the sidebar of a lot of these comics!! The people in these circles really hyped it up. and I did read Problem Sleuth, dutifully, but it bored me. Then the same guy started posting his next work, Homestuck. I read the first few pages as they came out and then stopped clicking it. It just wasn’t for me.
So it isn’t so much about them being adjacent in any way apart from Ryan North, the guy who ran Dinosaur Comics, having a sidebar on his website labelled something like “the girls” with his recommendations for other things you might like, like Scary Go Round - XKCD - MS Paint adventures.
And I was literally there dutifully looking at the first page of homestuck before all the homestucks read it, admittedly going “oh nah this ain’t it”, but, like. I was there. I was standing next to the impact crater.
Like every day I would check on my friend T Rex and look directly at a link that led to the homestuck website and check on my friend Buttercup Festival instead. Then I would turn off the computer and be done with computer for the day.
It’s very weird to realise that this is not how people use the internet any more.

about this blog!
Tumblr media
hi! i'm wyllaztopia and i'm mainly a UTMV artist but i also draw OCs and other fandoms here and there
i am also the artist and one of the writers of @agdreamtale
keep reading for more info!
you can call me wyll, az, or sam! but most people just call me wyll on my public accounts i am 18 years old, turning 19 soon! i use any pronouns <3 i use clip studio paint to draw and animate! sometimes procreate or ibis paint i use after effects and capcut to edit videos
✦ this blog is sfw, with slightly suggestive and graphic depictions of art here and there but are tagged and have a warning if so! ✦
media i enjoy: utmv/undertale/deltarune, fromsoft games, homestuck, honkai star rail, alien stage, houseki no kuni, csm, jjk, jjba, crk, vocaloid, mouthwashing, signalis, nge, deepwoken, creepypast, and lots more! ✦
people who mean the effin' world to me!!! @neotxnic - the love of my life !!! and best voice actor ever!!! @kayseeye - my platonic girlfriend <3 ✦
if you plan on using my art as icons, banners, edits, or stickers - please feel free to! no need to ask me for permission as long as you tag me or credit me, either works
if you're a content creator planning on using my assets [reactive pngs, banner and icon for your brand, streaming assets etc.] please contact me first! i prefer you talk to me before plastering my art for your content and tell me what kind of content you put out
i absolutely do not want my art used by people who make questionable content that i don't stand with, and ESPECIALLY content that endanger underaged audiences and promote hate and disrespect to groups of people
currently, i am not paid by or partnered with any content creator [apart from neotxnic] to make streaming assets for them, so assets made by me that you see from other people were made for free
i am absolutely fine with fanworks as well, you don't need to ask me for permission for that ✦
commissions and art requests are announced when they're available, or i just do them randomly, however i feel like it ✦
anyway, i don't have anything that i'm not comfortable talking about, however! please refrain from invading my personal life - i'm a small artist on the internet and i don't feel comfortable when people push themselves to be my friend i'm introverted despite how deranged i can be, thus i'm often very distant but i promise i have no enemies! me being quiet or not interacting with you doesn't mean i have something against you

ARG notes: ZampanioSim
Okay, a work this metafictional and also that (I think) responds to audience interaction is going to need a high-caliber gimmick. Hang on.
...
Alright. Hey guys, catfishAnabasis (Light) here, taking a moment out of my surprisingly busy day tell you about a weird thing on the internet.
Tumblr media
ZampanioSim is an intricate and brainbending ARG. It takes direct inspiration from Homestuck, The Magnus Archives, and House of Leaves, as well as the creator (JR, jadedResearcher/justifiedRecursion)'s previous canon of Homestuck fan-work and games. A major theme is "unreality".
HERE IS YOUR TRAILHEAD.
Feel free to ignore the rest of the writeup and check it out now.
I know very little about JR's other work, right now. However, among my many INTERESTS, I am something of a TMA ENJOYER and an AMATEUR INTERNET INVESTIGATOR, and if I were in a HOUSE I like to think I could LEAVE it pretty easily.
Tumblr media
So, yeah. I figured I'd just describe my experience of this rabbithole and maybe you'll want to check it out too. I'm sure this will only scratch the surface.
ZampanioSim is structured as a nested labyrinth. In the same way that:
Homestuck is a webcomic framed as an interactive adventure game about an account of kids playing a video game (Sgrub) that doesn't exist, and
House of Leaves is a novel framed as a found scholarly discussion about a documentary (The Navidson Record) that doesn't exist about a house that doesn't exist,
ZampanioSim is a game-based ARG framed as an attempt to simulate a game (Zampanio) that doesn't exist based on a found FAQ of the game (that only sort of exists).
More concretely, ZampanioSim features a lot of nested browser games, as well as audio, narrative, an actual audience-interactive narrative game (the way Homestuck was originally), external websites, and more.
The starting point is, of course, the House:
Tumblr media
ZampanioSim takes full advantage of the browser as medium. There is content accessible via the address bar, developer tools, cookies (I think), the developer console, and probably more that I haven't realized.
Like, to give you a sense of the kind of rabbithole we're dealing with: Here's a map I made of the House outset page today:
Tumblr media
...And I say today because the House does change over time. Today (a friday) when I clicked on the EastEast route, for instance, I was greeted by this grotesquely distorted version of Rebecca Black's "Friday":
Tumblr media
Okay, let's talk about what we have going on in the House map, starting from the doors and working out. (I've given some of these my own names for clarity.)
North
The Classpect Menu Game:
This, I think, is the main titular "ZampanioSim". It's the part that's intended to recreate the experience of a supposed old computer game, but by and large, you only experience the menu screen, not the rest of the gameplay. You can select attributes (based on Homestuck's Classpecting system + the Magnus Archives fears) gain points and select skills and (depending on your seed) eventually "beat the game". It's glitchy, it's a hellscape, there's an entity or two in the menu system that are trying to talk to you. It's great fun. Contains links to a rabbithole (which you can plug passwords into for more secrets) and + some secrets to you in the credits.
Tumblr media
(While mostly the aspects seem to add flavor to the menu options, there's a special class called "Waste". This appears in neither TMA nor Homestuck, but comes from a fan or meta-joke that Andrew Hussie and Toby Fox, the writer and a major composer for Homestuck, are classpected* as the "Waste of Space" and "Waste of Time". By telling it you're a "Waste"you're more likely to get weird glitches and new options in your Classpect Menu game run - there's a fun recurring element in some of these games about the game changing depending on who you tell it is playing. I learned about the Waste trick from JR's youtube channel. Also, setting your birthday as Halloween might also do something.)
I have no idea if the different iterations of games here are substantially different. I haven't checked. There's a lot going on. "There's a lot going on" is a good summary of ZampanioSim overall.
*( Uh, classpecting is this in-Homestuck personality system where game players are a [Role] of [Element].)
Eyedlr: Eyedol Games is the company that supposedly made the original game Zampanio. Eyedlr is their spambot-filled tumblr clone, which also has secrets in it. (Actually, just assume everything has secrets out.)
East
The House Exploration game: It has the same setup screen as the Classpect Menu game, but this one drops you into a game with visuals: An infinite(?) procedural house you navigate with imagery derived from your choices.
Tumblr media
Peewee's exploration game: When it's not blasting Rebecca Black's Friday But Weird into your ears, the EastEast route is another procedural infinite(?) maze, except that you type directions to Peewee, a snake guy with goggles who also moves around on his own. This one also introduces named characters we learn more about elsewhere.
Bathroom text: Procredural bathroom maze, unless it's just some text telling you to take a break. ZampanioSim really likes telling you to take breaks and hydrate, so that you can better appreciate and spread Zampanio.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Absolutely not. Also, I'm a busy woman. I have to finish this writing summary first.
South
The Train Game: a game - notably not a maze - where JR walks down a series of train corridors and monologues to you about the game and the "reality" behind it.
The mazecrawler game: You tell a little guy how to navigate an infinite(?) maze - and if you choose right and open up your browser's Console menu, you can learn a great deal more about
West
The only West route is AdventureSimWest, which is an actual text narrative game where readers submit commands that the author incorporates into updates - just like early Homestuck. It's still going. The logs are extensive but it's mostly about the antics of a new employee at Eyedol Games, which is stuck in a time loop.
Other
Then there's some other scattered clickable text -
The truth about alt: An exchange between two shapeshifters.
A transcript: A dialogue between two people who apparently work for Eyedol Games.
The lower left leads you to an apparently rotating selection of other Zampanio-related games. I particularly liked NagaGirlfriend.
None of this is even the stuff you can reach this page exclusively through the Console menu.
And much more
And there's a lot of stuff that's NOT branching directly off of the house. There's other things you find buried in links or by searching - a discord and a wiki that both straddle the line between in-character and -out, Archive of Our Own content, a youtube channel, the Eyedol website...
Is there a "story" to ZampanioSim?
Yes.
Like I said, there's a lot I haven't seen yet. But what's going on is something like this:
JR is attempting to recreate this game, Zampanio, of course, and tap into its fanbase. The game Zampanio is an infectious meme. Eyedol Games is a transdimensional company that is perhaps both trying to spread the meme and contain it, by removing its spores, e.g. the Zampanio FAQ - the thing that inspired JR to make ZampanioSim - from the internet.
Various parts of the game recognize that they are fictional and may identify you the reader/player as "Observers".
There are a few recurring characters who have gotten swept up into the meme, either working for Eyedol or trapped in ZampanioSim or both, and have followed it from variant to transdimensional variant.
Tumblr media
(this is an image from homestuck. it's a reference.)
Japes aside, this is a brain-bending, very cool, and completely ludicrous unfiction project which I believe is made mostly by one person with an unparalleled hand for web sorcery, whimsy, and vibes. The vibes are so good.
The host website, Farrago Fiction (which AFAICT is a multi-person project), hosts a number of often-homestuck-inspired weird games and simulators.
I know ZampanioSim is now a few years old and is still actively updating. Consider checking it out.
2024-08-24 edit: Part 2!

Hello, pardon and I don’t want to be a bother but I would like to ask for your take on something. And if you’re not down to answer this question, that’s completely fine, you seem to make large opinion posts on a noteworthy basis so I understand if you don’t have the energy or motivation to give an opinion right now.
But I wanted to ask for your take on the ethics of enjoying Homestuck in the modern day. Many people such as myself and seemingly you as well enjoy Homestuck but are painfully aware of all the gross stuff in it. And as I see the comic pop up in more and more dni lists, with people claiming that enjoyers of Homestuck are supporting these things inherently, no matter the fact that most of us stand against Hussie and attempt to reclaim Homestuck as something to express joy and our identities in, it makes me wonder more and more the ethics of enjoying Homestuck. Since you seem to have thoughts on the matter, I was wondering if you’d like to share your take.
I once again want to stress though, absolutely no pressure to answer. I am not entitled to your time or hearing your opinion. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. I was just asking in case you wanted to speak about it.
Hi, Anon! This is a very interesting question, and you were right to assume I have thoughts on it. They might not be as long and complicated as some of my other essays, but they still exist, and I would quite like to share them. Thank you for the opportunity.
My opinion on The Ethics of Enjoying Homestuck is that I believe it's perfectly fine to do so. I also think it's perfectly fine to dislike, or hate, or not want to associate with it or any fans of it. This is a personal boundary set by and for the individual, and it's not my business to question, nor my place to cross it. However, I don't really agree with the way some people go about communicating or enforcing this boundary. I've seen some people put Homestuck and Harry Potter on the same level before. I've seen some say that enjoyment of either piece of fiction is, at least in part, comparable. I heavily disagree with this- and the fact that this is a point that comes up shows to me that there's quite a few people who don't actually fully understand why so many people are saying to stop supporting Harry Potter.
The conflation of the two things reads to me as if some believe that Harry Potter has been "cancelled for having a problematic creator"- and that's not wholly true. Yes, J.K. Rowling is, by definition, problematic, and she is the creator of the Harry Potter franchise, but people have drawn such a hard line against supporting the series not just because J.K. Rowling is Transphobic, but because she has honest to god legislative power. She is, as it stands, currently the backbone of the TERF movement, and is spending a lot of time and money to ensure that Transphobes dominate the government. Monetary support of Harry Potter pools into her funds, which adds to her ability to further Trans Genocide. Communal/Fandom support of Harry Potter increases her visibility as a public figure, which adds to her ability to further Trans Genocide. J.K. Rowling has made very clear statements saying that she takes any support of the Harry Potter franchise- any at all, including Queer/LGBT+ Friendly fan content- as support of her beliefs. Support of Harry Potter is a method of legitimizing and validating Transphobia, and is being used as a way to further Trans Genocide.
If J.K. Rowling was just an average Transphobe, the outcry would not be nearly as severe, and the line wouldn't be nearly as clear cut. It would just be disappointing, bring to mind the phrase "same shit as always", and many would make the personal choice to distance themselves from it. But that's not the reality we live in. We live in the reality where J.K. Rowling has sway on the government, and is getting real people hurt and killed.
Andrew Hussie, creator of Homestuck, however, is just some random asshole with no political power outside of his own vote. Yes, Homestuck is filled with plenty of unsavory elements- random out-of-place interjections of Hussie's own past bigotry included- but at the end of the day, Homestuck has no influence over government action. Hussie has no tangible political influence, and does not want to have tangible political influence. We don't even have evidence that Hussie still holds the same beliefs as he did during and prior to the creation of Homestuck. This is just some random indie comic, made by some random guy in 2009. J.K. Rowling is dangerously close to billionaire status, and using that power for evil.
It's fine to like something that's not very morally clean- or something made by a not very morally clean artist, during a not very morally clean point in time in a not very morally clean place in this world. It's okay. The fixation some have on this is OCD-inducing. The best that can be asked is that one recognizes the bigotry, and doesn't perpetuate them. That's all. You can read, watch, play, and enjoy just about anything, as long as you don't make the more unsavory elements out to be a good thing. Don't start acting like Racism is awesome, or Antisemitism is cool, or Transphobia is based, et cetera, and you'll be totally fine.
The ability to find value in something impure or unsavory is a valuable one. Some may not want to associate with that, or find the particular flaw in the work in question to be too uncomfortable to stomach, and that's fine, too. Not everyone can just sit through Era-Appropriate Casual Homophobia or Racism and come out feeling fine enough to keep going. I'd argue- hope, even- that most feel at least a bit bothered by such things. It's all about personal tolerance levels. No one's committing a moral crime by either enjoying it or not wanting to even look at it.

Hi Quinton!! I have been a HUGE fan of your stuff since a friend sent me the Tobuscus Fallen Titans (I used to watch him back in high school and was like "huh, wonder what happened to him after those allegations") and I gotta say, it is REALLY FUNNY every time my fiancé and I watch the iCarly videos again, because when you cover Gibby's stunt double breaking his ribs, you cut to a clip of The Official Podcast. I used to play D&D with one of the main dudes from the podcast, so when he talks during that clip I do a goddamn double take literally every time.
Anyways, I remember an original Patreon stretch goal being a Fallen Titans on Homestuck! I was really big into Homestuck in my early 20s, and was wondering if that's still on the table at some point? If not that's fine, I understand plans change! I just love Fallen Titans lol, the Fred episode and the Neil Cicierega unFallen Titans are some of my favorite videos of yours!
That's a real funny story!
So here's the rundown on the Homestuck video. When I first started making long videos, they were actually inspired by the relationship I had with other YouTubers at the time. I used to watch, like, H3H3 and Filthy Frank, etc; and I'd always see people obsessed with the versions of creators from the past. Like, "Oh 2015 H3 was the best" and "Oh 2012 Frank was peak." So I had this idea that it would be crazy if H3 posted, like, a video he spent a decade on and you got a new video with 2015 H3 10 years on. (I don't watch H3 anymore ironically)
So the original idea for the "long video" format was that it would be cool if, throughout a long, analysis/review/recap video, you kept noticing someone get older. Maybe my months, maybe by years. That's why I always like to get a haircut when I start one of these videos. If you scrub through and you see my hair get longer and messier as it goes on I think that adds something magical you can't fake.
So... My pitch to the Homestuck video was that it would be funny to work on it just once per year. To record one segment, say "That's it for 12 months", and then come back around to it. And when I was making the iCarly and Victorious videos I actually recorded a few minutes of the video! I think it was two segments in total. But then I had a bunch of personal stuff happen and my work drive has been much lower, so any "back burner" video hasn't gotten much attention since then.
Now that the iCarly mini-series is done with, I want to focus on some short one-off videos I can make before April. But once that's done with, I would REALLY love to start work on a few more long-term projects which will take months or years to finish. I think returning to work on the Homestuck video, to at least get the first 20-30 minutes done, would be a great idea this summer.
Now, if you want to know my pitch for that video, here it is. The video is not a recap of the creative history of the franchise. I do not get into drama, community hell, lawsuits, or other YouTubers. My idea is this: you always hear about Homestuck as an outsider but you never hear about the actual content. Most franchises on Earth I know something about, even and especially if I've never been interested in them. I can tell you a bunch of facts about wrestling and MLP and the Fast and the Furious simply through cultural osmosis and having friends who are into those things.
I can't tell you the plot of Homestuck, who the characters are, what the themes are, nothing. I've known a lot of people who were into Homestuck but nothing about the series!
So I thought it would thus be funny to make a video about a bunch of people who know nothing about the series starting from the beginning and giving their reactions, even if it's been years since it all started. I call this part of the video the "Homestuck Book Club." So the next step is me picking out the members (who all have to have no history with it) and making sort of a podcast setup. We'd then read and record every six months or so, IDK.
This is why the video has been stuck in production hell! Everyone who wants to work on it and messages me about it already knows the franchise. I don't want spoilers, I don't want people writing for the video who get it already. I want to capture the "what the fuck is this" energy of three dudes just getting in the middle of it.
Also, I think that I really like the theme of the video capturing our lives as they go by, capturing us aging and changing. If you came back from the future and told me this video comes out in five years, I'd say great. If you told me it comes out in ten years, I'd say awesome. Until then, the latest edit will always be on Patreon, even if you have to dig a little.

i just also genuinely don't understand how this site can be like "it's okay to like homestuck even tho the creator is shitty and there's bigotry present in the work itself" (this is correct btw, you can enjoy something without defending all aspects of it) and then simultaneously go "BUT enjoying dream smp is bad because the creators are bad even though that has absolutely nothing at all to do with the actual content of the work of fiction being discussed"
like. i can't really think of anything in dream smp that comes even remotely close to some of the shit that is present very overtly in homestuck
