We had so much fun with Hs preschool teacher on our zoom meeting this morning! His teacher is so creative with ways to keep them engaged from afar and I love seeing his face light up when she starts singing their welcome song. Today they had a playdough challenge! . And what great timing! This week we used up some expired coconut flour to make a ton of playdough. I just googled and found this recipe from @craftulate. She nailed it...It smells delicious! The first batch was stickier than I like our playdough but I realized I just wasn’t cooking it long enough. The batches with the best texture are the ones where I thought I burned it 🤷🏼‍♀️ . If you’re looking for an awesome play dough recipe with regular flour, you have to try @iheartnaptime ... it is truly my favorite and lasts SO long. Lots of snacky foods packed for tomorrow — perhaps bc we had a rough few nights of no sleep and this was all I could wrap my brain around this evening! For snack, they have pirates booty, gold fish, @babybelus roll up cheese, raspberries (H does have mini choc chips in his), grapes, and strawberries. Lots of the same for lunch (finishing off some things from the weekend), leftover mini muffins, corn and white rice (will they eat them together or lose their minds that I dared combine?!), smarty pants vitamin gummies, pretzels with Nutella, and fig bar. We made a big pile of playdough this weekend (my favorite recipe is from @iheartnaptime and is super easy) for M to take in tomorrow for her class. She loves school once she’s there but by the end of last week, drop off got pretty tough. 🎉No Cook, No Cream of Tartar Playdough🎉 🌟 🌟 🌟Small children need to supervised 100% of the time when playing with playdough, because they will eat it! 😝. I know Jacob bites into it, so I keep a close eye to discourage him from doing so. 🌟Came across this cool recipe, tried it and playdough came out pretty nice. 🤹‍♂️What you Need: 🌟4 Cups of flour. 🌟1 ½ Cups of salt (the high quantity of salt replaces the cream of tartar). 🌟2tbsp of vegetable oil. 🌟1 Cup of warm water 🌟Food Colouring 🌟Glitter (optional) 🌟4 Bowls (one per colour). 🌟1 Bowl to mix dry ingredients. 🤹‍♂️ 🤹‍♂️ 🤹‍♂️ 🤹‍♂️How to: 🌟In each of the 4 bowls mix 1/2cup of warm water, 10-20 drops of food coloring per bowl (depending on how bright you like the colours), I used 15 drops of food colouring per bowl. Also add ½ tbsp of vegetable oil per bowl. 🌟In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients: flour and salt. 🌟Then, add a cup of the dry mixture per bowl and mix. After the mixture transforms into dough, transfer to a smooth surface to knead. 🌟Dust surface with a bit of flour and knead dough until smooth. If its too dry add a bit more of water, and if its too wet add a bit more flour. 🌟If mixture is sticky add bit of flour and knead. 🌟Store in a plastic ziploc bag or a container with lid in the fridge. 🌟Should be good for a a couple weeks.
