🌷Use paper flowers to create super cute mini paper bouquets!! 🌷 ✨Great for mothers day decor, or, just as add-on for a gift. If, you have older kids, they can help making the flowers and leafs. Or, just with the scissor cutting, kids need to be old enough to be able to use scissor safely. ✨I used hot glue to glue-on flowers in place . 🌷Check previous post for how-to details 😁. * #diypaperflowers#diymothersdaygift#diymothersdaydecor#diymothersdayroses#parentinglife#toddlemom#mothersdaydecorodideas (at Toronto, Ontario)

✨These paper roses are super easy to make, & fantastic for a mothers day activity, decor, or add-on gift. ✨They're however an activity for older kids who can safely handle scissors. Jacob is 13 months, so I'll be making these as a mothers day keepsake for me and grandma 😁💕. * 🌷What you need: ✨Construction paper in whichever colour you want your flowers. ✨Scissors. ✨Hot glue. ✨Pencil & erraser. ✨CD, use it to make the perfect size circle. ✨Dry twigs, I got these at the park. * 🌷How To: ✨With a pencil trace the CD on the construction paper. ✨Again with a pencil draw wavy lines in a circular spiral. ✨Use scissors to cut what you've traced on the paper. ✨Roll paper tightly starting at the outside, then, let it unwind a bit, and use hot glue to glue it on the twig. ✨That's it!! Super easy! & how super cute are these flowers?! 🌷😊❤️. 🌟Happy Friday!! 🎉 * #diypaperflowers#diymothersdaygift#diymothersdaydecor#diymothersdayroses#parentinglife#toddlemom#mothersdaydecorodideas (at Toronto, Ontario)

✨Safe Non-Toxic Homemade Slime✨ * 🌟Fantastic sensory activity, your little one(s) will have so much fun discovering a new world of texture, I know mine did! 😁 🌟Supe easy and quick to make! Takes 5min! Absolutely love this recipe!! 🎉💕 * 🌟Need 1 cup of corn starch, 1 cup of water, and food colouring. That's it!! 🙌 🌟Pour the corn starch in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix the water and food colouring. 🌟In a bowl, add water to corn starch a bit at a time, mix with a spoon. 🌟I left mine a bit thick, when you mix it, it feels hard, but, once you hold it in your hand and play with it, it just turns slimey!!! So amazingly fun!!! 🌟It's also super easy to clean. However, I did place a plastic tarp underneath, you can see it in the pictures, great for easy clean up. 🌟That's it!! 🎉Kids have so much fun with slime. Best of all, this recipe is safe for your little ones. * 🌟Source: http://www.diyncrafts.com/1775/home/kids-will-love-this-safe-and-easy-homemade-slime-recipe * #diysafeslime#toddler#toddlemom#toddlerfun#kidsactivities#kidsactivitiesathome#mommylife#parentinglife#toddlerlife#toddleractivities#toddleractivitiesathome#toddlersensoryplay#toddlersensoryplayideas#sensoryplay#sensoryplayathome#slimesensoryplay

✨Turn your childs' hand/foot print into a super cute mothers day gift! ✨I made this hand print with Jacob while he played with the dough, then I decorated it, and placed everything in a small frame 💕. ✨When making the hand print, make the dough as thin as you can, as it'll grow a bit when baked, that way it'll fit in the frame. Mine was a bit too think, so I had to use a bit of tape at the back bottom of the frame to make sure it stays in place. * ✨How To: 🌟Bought a small frame at Ikea (3.99). A white frame gives it that fancier look. ✨Wrote the mothers' day date on the bottom right hand corner. ✨Got light blue paper flower from the bridal section at Michaels, don't forget to use the 40% off coupon on their website. There are many colours to choose from. ✨Used crafting glue to glue-on paper flowers on the blank space. ✨Used hot glue to glue-on the hand print to the paper after all the flowers had been glued-on. * #mommylife#funwithtoddler#diymotherdayideas#diymothersdaygift#diymothersdaygifts#michaelsartandcrafts (at Toronto, Ontario)

💕Mothers' Day Salt Dough Prints/Ornaments💕 * 🌟Kids have a blast with this activity as the dough is pretty much no-cook playdough. First, children can play to their hearts content, and then the two of you can make the hand/foot prints. 🌟It makes for such a great mothers day activity! Kids will have a blast and you'll make wonderful memories 💕. * 🌟What you need: ✨1 cup of all purpose flour. ✨1/2 cup of salt. ✨1/2 cup of water. ✨Food colouring (optional). ✨Bake for 1hr & 1/2 on 100 degrees celsius, or, until print/ornaments are completely dry. Make sure you turn them when baking so both sides dry completely. ✨Always use oven mitts, be careful not to burn yourself. * 🌟How To: ✨Place flour and salt in a bowl and mix. ✨Pour water in a separate container, if using food colouring, add a couple drops on water and mix. ✨Pour colour water in the bowl with dry ingredients and knead. ✨If dough is too wet/sticky add more flour, if its too dry add a bit more water. ✨Knead dough into shape, make print on dough by placing hand/foot on dough and adding a bit of pressure. ✨For ornaments, use a straw to make a small hole. ✨Place print/ornament in a baking mould, place parchment paper underneath to make sure dough doesn't stick to the pan. ✨Bake print/ornament for 1hr & 1/2 on 100 degrees celsius. Or, until print/ornaments are completely dry. Use timer to check on the prints/ornaments every 1/2hr. Remember to turn print/ornament so they dry completely on both sides. 🎉That's it! Hope you and your kiddos enjoy this activity! I know we did!! 😁💕. * #craftymommy#toddlemom#toddlerfun#diymothersdaygifforkids#diykidsactivities#diykidsmothersdaygifts#diymomgifts#kidsactivitiesathome#parentinglife#mommylife#funwithtoddler (at Toronto, Ontario)

Our 13 month old (Jacob), and our dog (Rexie) are bffs', so that's made Jacob super comfortable around other dogs. But, not all dogs are as friendly, I mean he runs away from a barking chihuahua 😜🤣. So, I did a bit of research and found a few safety tips for when kids are around dogs, read below ⬇️⬇️ * 🐶Never touch a dog that is unknown to you. Even if you know the dog, always ask permission from an adult you know to see if it is ok. 🐶Even when you have permission, do not invade the dog’s body space. Allow the dog to come up to you and sniff your closed fist (palm down, knuckles facing the dog). If the dog does not want to come and greet you, respect that decision. 🐶Do not approach a dog from behind or pet a dog directly on the top of his head. The back or side is the best place to pet. If the dog moves away while being pet he has probably decided that he has had enough so allow him to have space and do not follow. 🐶Never stare at a dog up-close, and never put your face close to a dog’s face. 🐶Do not tease a dog. 🐶Do not touch a dog that's tied up or left at the end of a chain in a yard, outside a store or behind a fence. 🐶Tell an adult immediately if you see a dog that is loose in your neighborhood. Do not touch it. 🐶Do not touch a dog while its eating. 🐶Do not touch a dog while he is sleeping. You might startle him and he could react without thinking and snap at you. 🐶Do not take a bone or toy away from a dog if its playing with it. 🐶Do not push a dog off the sofa or chair if you want to sit there. Always get an adult to remove the dog for you. 🐶Do not scream and run away from a dog. If a strange dog comes up to you and you are scared, put your hand together, stand still, look away and completely ignore him until he loses interest in you and goes away. Be a Tree! The more boring you are, the less the dog will want to interact with you. 🐶In the unlikely event a dog bites and you are on the floor, be a stone again, tightly curled with your hands protecting the back of your neck and stay as still as you can until help arrives. 🐶Do not hug dogs, most dogs do not like to be hugged. 🌟Source: positively.com/articles/dog-child-safetyguide/ (at Toronto, Ontario)

🌿🌱Planting Sensory Bin🌱🌿 * ☀️Amazing sensory learning activity to get young kids making connections, and engaging in hands-on learning about the natural world. ☀️Great activity to let childrens' imagination fly. ☀️In addition, children will be able to see those plants grow, as you water them together, and then they'll be able to eat the fruit, or, veggies right off the plant #100%organic. * #funwithtoddler#plantingsensorybin#toddlemom#toddlerfun#toddlerlife#parentinglife#toddlerlearning#toddlersensorybin#makinglearningfun#outdoortoddleractivities#kidsactivities#craftymommy#condoplanting#plantingwithtoddlers#homedepotgardencenter#organicfreshproduce (at Toronto, Ontario)

🍅🍓Planting Sensory Bin🍅🍓 * ☀️Great sensory learning activity. ☀️This is such an exiting activity for toddlers, as they love playing with the soil & its texture. * ☀️What you need: 🌱Container for planting. 🌱Good quality potting mix. 🌱Small plants, seeds, or bulbs. Check according to the season what to plant. I choose tomatoes and strawberries, as they can be planted in late spring. 🌱Watering can. 🌱Got everything at the #homedepotgardencenter. * ☀️Here's how we did it: 🌱Made an event out of it, and took advantage of the sunny weather. Went to the park with Jacob and did our potting there. We live in a condo and have no green space, so the park is a great alternative, also no need to clean any messiness 😁. 🌱Gave Jacob his colour cups to scoop the soil, and gave him his toy rake for him to play with the soil. 🌱Also took along his plastic animals so he could play with them while planting. 🌱Choose a small tomatoe tree to plant, and a strawberry bulb, that way Jacob could hold them in his hands, and that would be a great way to introduce plants to him. 🌱Once everything was planted we used the watering can to water our tiny garden 😄. 🌱Jacob had such a blast, I highly recommend this activity!! 🙌. ☀️That's it!! Cheers!! 🎉🎉 * #funwithtoddler#plantingsensorybin#toddlemom#toddlerfun#toddlerlife#parentinglife#toddlerlearning#toddlersensorybin#makinglearningfun#outdoortoddleractivities#kidsactivities#craftymommy#condoplanting#plantingwithtoddlers#homedepotgardencenter (at Toronto, Ontario)

🌈Rainbow Pom Pom Sensory Bottle🌈 * 🌟Such a fun activity for young kiddos & perfect for practicing colour recognition, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. 🌟Super easy, fast, and simple to make 🎉. 🌟To make it even more fun have your toddler place the pom poms inside the bottle. If your little one is still mouthing everything, supervise 100% of the time and discourage your child from doing so. My son Jacob is 13 months and still puts everything in his mouth, so, I supervised him 100% of the time. However, he had such a blast placing the pom poms inside the bottle, which already had water, that he didn't mouth any of them. 🌟Or, make the rainbow sensory bottle and give to your little munchkin to play with, above all be safe!!! We know our kids and know what we should, or, shouldn't let them do. My rule is: safety 1st! 😊. 🌟Read below for more details ⬇️⬇️⬇️. * 🌈What you need: 🌟Voss bottle, or, any clear bottle with smooth surface, the pom poms should fit through any water bottle opening. I used a Voss bottle as I already had one at home. 🌟Pom poms in assorted colours and sizes. 🌟Water. * 🌈How to: 🌟Fill the bottle 3/4 with water. 🌟Place pom poms inside. I used between 20-30 pom poms, all different colours and sizes. You can use more, or, less depending on preference. 🌟Fill the bottle all the way with water. 🎉That's it!! Hope your & your kiddos have a blast!! I know mine did😁😁😁. * #parenting#toddlerparenting#toddler#toddlemom#toddlerfun#sensorybottles#funwithsensorybottles#kidsactivities#kidsactivitiesathome#funwithtoddler#craftymommy#rainbowsensorybottle#makingreadingfun#makinglearningeasy#makinglearningsimple#funwithtoddler (at Toronto, Ontario)

📚Had been looking for a great "lift-the-flap" animal book for my toddler, & have finally found it!!. Thought I would share this info, in case, there're other moms in-the search as well 😁🤗. 📘Title: "Finding First Animals and More." Found it at #indigokids on our weekly trip 📚. 🌟It's a fantastic book featuring domestic, woodland, safari and farm animals, in addition to super fun lift-the-flap learning. 🌟Books are great to promote language development, encourage parent and child interaction, develop reading skills, and enable discovery about the world. 🌟Cheers! 😁. * #toddlemom#toddlerfun#kidsbooks#toddlerboooks#makinglearningfun#makinglearningsimple#makinglearningeasy#makingreadingfun#funwithkids#funwithtoddler#toddlerlife#parenting#parentinglife#tigertalesbooks#findingfirstanimalsl#lifttheflaplearningbooks (at Toronto, Ontario)

🐟🐠Aquarium Sensory Bottle🦑🐙 * 🐠Fantastic sensory activity for young and older kids! Great to teach them about sea animals, and water💧. 🐟Can also play an aquatic "I spy game," and make it even more fun!🎉 🐳Older kids can have extra fun putting everything inside the bottle. * 🐡What you need: 🌟A Voss bottle, or, any bottle with smooth surface and wide opening, so to place items inside. I used a Voss bottle as it's perfect for it. 🌟Small sea animals. I used 6 animals, got them from Michaels. 🌟Sea shells, got mine from the dollar store. I used 20 small shells, and 10 shells in bigger assorted sizes. Can use more, or, less depending on preference. 🌟Baby oil, 4 tsp. To help everything move better inside the bottle, and create a more realistic look. 🌟Blue food colouring, 1 drop. 🌟Water. 🌟Hot glue (optional). * 🦑How to: 🌟Fill 3/4 of the bottle with water. 🌟Add food colouring, and shake. 🌟Add baby oil, and shake again. 🌟Then, place sea shells, and sea animals inside the bottle. 🌟Once everything is inside the bottle continue to fill with water to the top. 🌟My son is 13 months, so, I sealed the bottle with hot glue, to make sure he won't open it. Older kids may also open the bottle and spill blue water on your floors. However, if this isn't a concern no need for the hot glue. If no hot glue is used, the bottle can be re-used, which is a benefit; however, safety 1st! 😁. 🌟I do want to retrieve the animals after we're done with the bottle, I'll just have to cut it open. 🌟That's it!! 🎉Hope your kiddos have a blast😁🌟. * #funwithtoddler#toddlemom#toddler#toddlerfun#nomesskidsactivities#toddleractivities#toddleractivitiesathome#kidsactivitiesathome#diyaquariumsensorybottle#sensorybottles#funwithkids#parenting#parentinglife#diykidsactivities#diykidssensoryactivities#toddlerlife#toddlerlearning#makinglearningsimple#makinglearningfun (at Toronto, Ontario)
