According to Google, home is a place where one lives permanently. I don’t think I agree to it. Doesn’t it sound incomplete? Maybe there’s more to it. Home cannot be confined to four walls, can it? A person can be our home too. Spending time with someone and talking for hours can make ourselves at home. Making Maggi at 2 am with a bunch of hostel mates can make ourselves at home too. Visiting a friend’s house and their family treating us like their own kids can also make ourselves at home. A place where we are loved, where everyone accepts who we are, where waking up we don’t think about how we look because everyone thinks we are beautiful. That is Home. Home is a feeling, an emotion. Coming home from hostel and sleeping in that mattress we missed for months and realising we slept more than usual. That is Home. Home is where we look at our pillow and realise that we cannot count the number of times we have cried on it. Eating home-cooked food we craved for after ranting about hostel food is HOME. Memories flooding back from every corner of a place because we grew up there, is HOME. Leaving again from a place after we hug our parents last and promising them to meet soon, where before going we look back but we know we have to keep moving. That place is HOME. It takes years to build one’s own home. It is the place we go back to, the place that waits for us. It carries the weight of zillions of memories and emotions.
