There are only so many fanfics that use the entirety of DC as cardboard cutouts to prop up bat family characters that I can read before I go berserk.

I swear to god. Every character that has ever been shipped with a bat or coexists on the same team as a bat is owed an apology.

How many Young Justice fanfics that solely revolve around Tim must exist? How many Titans fanfics centered only on Dick? Why is it a herculean task to find a Justice League fanfic without Bruce as the main character?

And then even when you do find a fic that seems like it's balanced, everything still revolves around the bat. Like Kon, Cassie and Bart have nothing else going on in their lives except Tim and Tim's issues or thinking about Tim. Like Donna and Wally and Roy just cannot function if they aren't spending every waking moment thinking about Dick.

I'm... Guys. I'm at my limit. I swear to god. We need to make a Batman tag and surgically remove all these fics and quarantine them there. We'll keep the actual DC fics and they can do whatever the fuck they want in their own tag. It's getting ridiculous how hard it is to find fanfic that's actually DC related and isn't just 'The BatFam Show'.

One of the problems I run into quite frequently is that I'll be browsing books or movies or whatever and then there will be one that I go oh I've heard someone mention this. And then cannot remember if the person was recommending it because it was good or telling me not to bother because it sucked or was like actively radioactive.

anyway Akira 1988 was fucking crazy. what do I do w my life now. weirdest part of it was i couldn't predict half the stuff that was about to happen- the blue kids, the baby toys, the lasers, the wires & goop, literally everything that happened to Kaori ?? kind of movie that makes you reach out for the characters as if that would save them and makes every death feel so shocking and unfair and undeserved y'know . maybe its just bc nearly all of the cast are kids or bc everyone seems so ordinary, or the time spent on the bg characters just really efficiently shows they're people too? IDK

I was having a horrifically bad mental health day today and then a tiktok mutual of mine, whom I've never really spoken to and we were just quietly following each other, sent me a video of her meeting doug ellison at the good night oppy premiere saying hi to me and how great he thinks it is what I do (sharing my passion about space online) and the fact that she thought of me, the things she must have told him about me and the nice things he said made me absolutely bawl with the realisation how much other people care about you that you will never even know, that love really is infinite and that every single day holds something worth living for

#just finished episode 1 and it has already exceeded all of my expectations #and this is coming from someone who loves the last of us more than ANY piece of media ever #holy shit i am going to be so goddamn insufferable these next like 9 to 10 weeks #idk if i'll be able to like Actually pull my thoughts together but like #it was seriously so amazing #i keep thinking back to those first like 20ish minutes of the episode and all the little background details that foreshadowed the breakout #fr this was so beautifully done already i cannot wait to see the rest of the show #tlou hbo #yelling
