Jonah couldn't help but grin slightly as his strings were harshly pulled, Mark glaring at him in pure fury and despair. Good. “Why… WHY?!”

His smile simply widened, choked laughs coming from his throat in a cackling stream of agony and madness. It hurt like all hell but Jonah didn’t fucking care. Why should he care? There was nothing for him to care about anymore!

Mark flinched back at the display, keeping the puppet in place as he turned to see Dave and Adam of all alternates watching and listening with disturbed expressions. Looking further around, the alternate felt slightly sick as the number of bodies the puppet had made drop rose in his head.

Millions of people, millions of children, dead.

In a swift motion, the strings around Jonah’s wrists were cut, his laughter cutting off as his body was held up just by the neck. Still, breathless giggles flowed through the air, along with choked words. 

“....why..n…. not…?!” Jonah wheezed with insane amusement, tears mixed with blood running from his eyes in a steady stream.

“...Mark..” Dave spoke, and Mark turned to look at him, nodding for him to go on. “...I.. you might… have to…”

“Put him down like a feral dog?” Adam interrupted, face settling back into its usual smile, though it was still obvious he wasn’t exactly comfortable. “Normally I’d ask for that to not happen buuuuuut…”

“If I let him live… he’ll just kill the humans that are left…” Mark finished for him, eye narrowing as Jonah wheezed with laughter again.

The blond nodded, giving the puppet a glance before shuffling on his hands and feet. “Look, I like fucking with him, truly I do, but he’s gonna get rid of the most fun prey! Now I’ll need to find a human as fun as Seth was and who knows how loooooooong that’ll take…” 

Both Dave and Mark huffed at the alternates whining, but Dave nodded afterwards. “He and Gabriel talked sometimes, even seemed to become friends of a sort… For him to just.. Kill them without any hesitation…”

Even though he hated being on the same side of Adam, Mark knew they made their point, and agreed with it. Jonah needed to go.

Moving towards the still giggling puppet, the teenager reached out his hand and snapped the tethers connecting Jonah to life, watching as the body dropped to the ground after the strings disintegrated. 

The three alternates simply stood there for a bit, before they all silently began to leave in their respective directions, leaving the body to rot in the open, like he’d done with so many others in his insanity-fueled massacre.

For once, Mandela wasn't filled with the desperate screams of people begging for life. No, instead, there was nothing but,

Cold.

Dead.

Silence.

- "hibiki" comes from the name of chai's favorite action-rhythm game where you play as a rebel taking down a corrupt corporation :^) his belt chain thing was a preorder bonus

- both peppermint and macaron are vegetarian

- peppermint and chai became roommates after the events of the game

- chai's right arm injury is monoparesis caused by a stroke he had sometime in high school, treatment was ineffective at helping him regain his motor skills so he sought out project armstrong

- it's implied the game took place over a day or two at most, but i like to stretch it to four because it just seems way too short to me. i could see chai doing some of the fights while sleep deprived, but not all of them

day 1: most of the early day is just chai getting through all the armstrong onboarding stuff, QA-1MIL and rekka are fought in the afternoon. him and peppermint have to lay low for the rest of the day because she knows kale will be looking for her with security drones now

day 2: chai sneaks into R&D in the early morning, is captured by the afternoon, and it's night by the time him and korsica are taken to the hideout

day 3: him and korsica are recovering for pretty much the whole day so it isn't until the evening that they go after mimosa

day 4: chai sneaks through production late night/early morning (this is outlined ingame so this part isn't really a headcanon) and it takes the whole day to get to roquefort and then kale

HAII i enjoy this assortment of headcanons nods nods but i especially enjoy the last one!! i never really did register how long the story is in the game now that i think about it... but i'll get to that!

(1) DUDE i have seen plenty of people argue for a different headcanon that hibiki is either the name of a band or the name of a fashion brand but i have not heard of this angle!! do you think this also explains his shoes or 808's collar though... bc if it does, i totally think at one point post game, chai and peppermint find out they like the same game and it actually ends up being something that brings them closer

...davesprite thinking about what would happen if dave died permanently. hed never do anything. hed never let that happen. but... the timeline needs a dave, right. and davesprite would still be there. hed never do anything to make it happen. but what if that was his chance.

i love the idea that dsprite acts more like dirk and hal acts more like dave (mirroring their text colours). i just think its fun

UHHHHH I’ll have to go between Another World, Another Time by jikanet_tanaka and Interproximal Gradations by callipraxia, which is the third part of the For Want Of A Jailbreak series (sorry, I really couldn’t choose mshdhsh) they both have similar vibes yet such different plots that I can’t help but group them in my head sometimes but they are ALSO some of the most high-quality heartbreaking emotionally investing fiction I’ve ingested on this mortal coil. like BRO. it’s been like six months since I’ve read both and I can still remember certain scenes and the plot and other things I loved so CLEARLY. for example: in another world, they hit ford over the head a LOT. like I can remember three individual times lmao, and two of them were by the same person! the first was entering the strange dimension in the beginning to jumpstart the plot, the second was overexertion/being wacked by a blinded ex-jheselbraum disciple after escaping an attempted to be built PORTAL ROOM in a high tech bill-esque fortress, and the third was during an unsuccessful raid for parts for a resistance the people of the dimension he and the pines have ended up by the same ex-disciple. does that make sense? possibly not! but don’t you want to read to find out? ;) /lh

listen, you KNOW what i love about your portrayal. i love steven so much i want to pick him up and squeeze him. you took a character with minimal lines or characterization in canon and you made him into such a unique, silly guy. and i know i call him silly all the time but he also has such depth of character???

like. guy who has been working with fazbear entertainment since he was a teenager and has been Experiencing the Horrors ever since and yet still hasnt become disillusioned with the company or quit because he CANT. because he doesnt KNOW anything else. because he would rather quite literally work himself to death at fazbears than have to figure out who he is outside the company. than have to unpack what hes been complicit in covering up. than have to face the fact that hes played quite an instrumental part in leading other employees to their deaths or to being grievously injured. hes done such horrible things but really what else was he going to do? if he dug too deep into the incidents he probably wouldve ended up just like them.

i just. ur pg is such a good example of someone who never intended to cause any harm – someone with an innate desire to do good, even – who got put in an impossible situation, one where there were no 'right answers.' steven is a man who did what he had to do to survive and even then it wasnt enough. he drives me insane /pos. i absolutely love the way you interpret him. i enjoy every single one of our threads we have going and the moment i have some free time im going back to work on them.
