I want Moses to have horns so bad. I want Moses to ascend the mountain and be daring with God. I want Moses to see the glory - the loyal love, a word that sounds like the sharpening of a knife - of God and the leave the intimate encounter so changed that he has horns like a sacrificial animal. I want Moses to have horns that must be hidden behind a veil. I want him to be an eldritch horror. But not in a bad way. I want Moses to be eldritch in the way God is eldritch. In the way God appears like a storm of fire upon a mountain. In the way God says "Come to me" and the people say "Moses, you go." In the way anyone who goes past the veil into God's presence will die. In the way two or Aaron's sons commit some abomination in God's presence and drop dead. In the way Isaiah sees God's knees and thinks he'll die. In the way Isaiah sees flaming, flying snakes in the divine throne room. The way the Suffering Servant is "the man from whom men turn their faces". In the way Jeremiah says "heck no" to becoming a prophet. In the way Jonah is so scared of God's "overflowing loyal love" he wants to kill himself. In the way prophet's go mad when they see him. The way Zephaniah sees creation being undone. In the way that the women see the empty tomb and run, terrified, away telling no one. In the way God is represented as a Lamb - slain and bloody - with seven horns and seven eyes - sitting on a throne. In the way the nations are called to "Fear the Wrath of the Lamb".

I want Moses to have horns.

Lottie really got her Moses up the mountain moment this finale episode. That entire conversation between misty and her had me dying laughing cause it really gave you made a golden statue?! I was up there for five minutes wtf people

Moses spoke to the people and said:

"Now, Israel, hear the statutes and decrees which I am teaching you to observe, that you may live, and may enter in and take possession of the land

which the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.”

We were at the grocery store this morning, up early having gone to Red's dad's to take him to breakfast and to school. It was in the frozen vegetable aisle that a monumental occasion occurred.

Eli reached out, took Moses by the hand, and just walked with him down the aisle until he was asked if he wanted something.

"A kiss maybe, if you feel like it."

Eli is not ashamed to be who he is, or love who he loves but publically he's a lot less affectionate with Moses than he is with me. Never knowing what someone will do, I'm sure it's for safety.

As it turns out, Moses does feel like it, and he doesn't feel like looking around first. So there they are, Moses with his hand just lightly cupping Eli's cheek and the kiss is whisper soft...

If I were any kind of artist, I would paint this, draw it, something. But instead I just watch love happen, whether anyone is looking or not.

Exodus 25 Building the Tabernacle

God told Moses to tell the Israelites to bring Him their sacred offerings. God gave them a list of acceptable offerings.

God then instructed Moses to build Him a Tabernacle which would include the ark, the table, and the lampstand and its furnishings according to the pattern and dimensions God gave to Moses.

The ark was to be made of acacia wood. Moses was to put the tablets which contained the commandments inside the ark. The ark had very specific measurements. God also instructed Moses to make an atonement cover that was made of pure gold. This would have cherubim with their wings spread wide over the Ark of the Covenant. God then told Moses that He would meet with him so that He could pass on the tablets that held the commandments for the people of Israel.

The table for the sanctuary was also to be made out of acacia wood. God explained the specific plans for this table. The pitchers, plates, and bowls for offerings that were set on this table were to be made from pure gold. He also instructed Moses to keep the special bread on this table at all times.

Moses was also to make a lampstand fashioned from pure gold. This would have a base that was hammered by hand. The stand would have seven lamps on it. The trays as well as the wick trimmers were also supposed to be made of pure gold. God told Moses that he was to make everything according to the plan that the Lord had laid out.
