This the first time he ku’i this taro from the same lo’i ?! Awesome 👏🏾 I said the same thing about masa when I lived in Americas . He actually dries his poi into flour straight from lo’i, steam and mixer. We learned this dryer exists . Yeassss!! Papa Liko and Marshall just got gifted Kalo! They about to holoholo right where they are at #wailua. Be a haumana #learntolearn , we practice volunteer and stewardship , and we make work fun. Volunteers needed at Wailua to help to setting workspace, identify your food (choice taro), cleanse, sanitize, learn to grow kalo. Decades ago we started from scratch from Hanalei to Mana ( and Napali) and most of the time at camp outside, paradise doesn’t happen over night. As spring flooding occurs, taro will grow. As papas beat the overgrowth of weeds, there is room to breath; the last teaching of Wainiha how to diversify their farm independently , and helping wailua mauka meet its diverse deadline and moonphases, the invasive and dead trees around island get chopped down and sheds light to the space this island has. This time Papa Liko is excited to open these bands and work with his new honorary hoikaika warrior and friend hoaaloha , Marshall. Kupuna will be watching you and talk story.
