I was chillin out all cool and all of a sudden this boy comes over to my humble abode and I ask him “where the cheeto at” and he dont answer and usually everyone in bel air answers that simple question of where the cheeto but this man does not. But try telling them that. “What do you mean your time machine runs on Holocaust denial?” Well, I mean exactly that: the time machine I invented is powered by Holocaust denial. That’s its fuel. “So it runs on the Holocaust not happening?” If only! No, it's powered by people saying the Holocaust didn’t happen. The Holocaust, unfortunately, still needs to have occurred. Belief Perseverance (Chapter 7)

                                             Belief Perseverance:

 The finding that once beliefs form, they are resistant to change, even if the information on which they are based are discredited.

I know all too well about belief perseverance, on both ends. I’m very slow to change my mind and I’m extremely stubborn. I’ve also tried to get people to change their mind on certain subjects, and most are willing to change once there’s some evidence suggesting my side. However, there’s one person in my life that I’ve tried for years to show them evidence on certain things. They don’t believe dinosaurs existed, that history is all made up, and the biggest one, the holocaust not happening. I’ve met a holocaust survivor twice, listened to their story, and taken photos with them. I took photos at the Holocaust museum we went to, showing her photos of the camps, memorials, and assorted articles that survived the Holocaust. No matter what I show them, they still do not believe me. They don’t think that a mass genocide could have happened (especially with the United States not helping or knowing for a majority of while it happened). I read a lot of books about the Holocaust, listen to podcasts, and took a class in high school about it as well. It saddens me that I cannot get them to realize that it truly did happen and that all those people died. I may never be able to get through to them. Who knows.
