I feel like I get a lot of pet asks lately and I'll try to answer them all at once haha! I don't think any of them has any special relationship to pets in general and I don't think any of them would ever get one.

And the closest M2 ever get to a pet is (at least for the 2.1 fellas) Chris and Holly's golden retriever Bertram!

To give you just a little bit of context:

Chris was put in a witness protection programme by L after he died. He had to change his entire identity, new name, new job, new social circle, new country, etc etc. I headcanon he was living in Ghana for the past 5 years. He met Holly there, they married. Chris thinks Matt is dead and is losing his mind /pos over a phone call from Matt shortly before the end of canon Death Note, saying he wants to come see him. Skip forward a few months, Matt and Chris have a super emotional reunion, with Matt and Mello staying over at Chris and Hollys place for a few days. Matt and Chris are having a fantastic time while Mello is having a full blown life crisis in the background. Him and Matt didn't talk about what they were gonna do after the Kira-thing ends and he feels completely out of place. Not knowing if Matt wants to stay with him, not knowing what job he's gonna be able to work, feeling like the biggest hypocrite playing happy family when he was one of Los Angeles' biggest mafia bosses just a few months ago, having devastating PTSD from the explosion, ... The man is an internal mess but needs to keep it together for Matt.

New day, new doll post! Or in this case several doll posts XD Was originally planning to marathon all this into one giant entry, but to preserve my sanity and make things more easily digestible for my dear Readers, we're going to break it down into smaller sections. Consider this Andrea Mail, Part 1 <3

(You know the deal--rambling monologue and more pix under the cut)

So. About a month ago @dollsahoy was casting around for someone to adopt this doll she made by combining donated vinyl parts (head/arms/legs) with a vintage Holly Hobbie stuffed doll pattern (you can read more about the project in her blog post here). I volunteered immediately, and we hashed out the shipping details. At some point in that process she said in addition to sending the doll in question "I want to sew something for your dolls," which I naturally agreed to because why would I not ???? At any rate, a few weeks went by, and this past Friday the box finally arrived, filled with SO MANY wonderful things! I can't wait to share them all with you. But first we have to talk about this girl, because I am genuinely delighted by her.

While it may not be greatly apparent from the current state of my collection (though you may have gleaned from the peek into my doll trunk and willingness to take on those crocheted Barbie gowns), I have a latent countrified streak a mile wide, born from many long vacations with my grandparents in Vermont, years of pouring over Victoria magazine, and a love of classic children's literature like Anne of Green Gables. My house is full of antique books, old photos, vintage porcelain, and an assortment of handmade needlecrafts and small patchwork quilts I've collected while visiting my family who still live in New England. I suppose nowadays this would all fall under the heading of 'Cottagecore', though I've never bothered assigning a label to it. It's all just things that make me happy.

All of which is to say, when I tell you this doll is my aesthetic--my earliest aesthetic--it is really, deeply true on a level that is difficult to convey without...posing her in front of one of my thrifted quilts, which coordinates with her dress perfectly ^_^ She is just sweet--starry eyes, questionable haircut and all*--and has an innocence that makes her feel like an old doll, though technically her current assemblage is new. Nostalgic in the best possible way. I think she'll inspire me with the push I need to get my porcelain dolls out of storage, because she absolutely needs to be displayed alongside them.

Now the only matter left to address is her lack of a name! It would be rather awkward to continue referring to her, as I have been, as 'the doll my friend Andrea made.' Given her origin story, I think I'll call her Holly ;p

*Be it noted the questionable haircut is not Andrea's fault--the head came that way. I gave her the ribbon to soften the effect a bit, but...yeah, the factory was not kind to her.

Last night I was at an Italian restaurant that was blasting your typical mix of crooners and zippy lounge standards, but after about two hours the playlist decided “ENOUGH. We GET it. Papa LOVES mambo,” and switched abruptly to “Nessun dorma,” an aria from the final act of Giacamo Puccini’s Turandot. I looked around the table and asked “Is this ‘Nessun dorma?!’” and was met with blank stares and polite shrugs. I started to panic—Why does nobody know “Nessun dorma?!”—before remembering that I have never seen an opera in my life and absolutely could not have identified Turandot without having Wikipedia open. Why do I know “Nessun dorma??”

✍️: Overall, how does the fandom trait you? Are you a beloved character, or hated? Are you popular, or a minor side character? Anything in between?

I would like to think he is liked pretty much, of course there people who dislike him, but hes pretty well liked, he probably be treated similarly to daffy i think. BUT LIKE ALSO has a bunch of adopted jokes i think.

🙈: Why would your ship be thought of as cute/fluffy? Why would your ship be considered problematic?

Probably how bucky and porky easily get flustered around eachother, bucky going to others to ask for advice (mostly daff and bugs), how his pranks are veryyyyy mild compared to his pranks to others and how they are always worried for eachother for the fluffy side!

For problematic.. probably how bucky is still pranking porky, they do fight sometimes (even if they crack up in the end and laugh), probably people thinking bucky is a child due to how small he is and how he sometimes act- or how protective bucky is of porky

🎞️: What ‘canon’ scenes would the fandom point to as evidence for the validity of your ship?

Bucky stopping daffy from messing with porky, or like bucky being reallly protective of porky. I like to think he stands up to most toons without a second thought and people are just 👀 "ey thats sorta gay-"

👀: How does your ship with your f/o influence both of your characterisations and the world? Would there be any interesting metas written about your dynamic?

Basically how like..bucky is actually more reasonable than daff and has a biggg heart of gold when hes not annoyed. Bc ususally hes seen just as wacky as his brother but with porky or bugs or daff you see hes just the sweetest thing- for meta... if just bucky i can see a bunch of talks about how he mimicks bugs and daff a BUNNNCH. he loves his brother and his mentor a bunch! He wants to be just like him! also probably how hes very autistic coded, and stuff like that

📝: How would your story in canon go? How would you influence the events of the original story?

In canon for antonblastttt. Hollys would probably still be a fallen angel just she wouldnt have kids i dont think. In the game i like to think he is a secret person you can unlock! but otherwise holly doesnt change much

🌦️: Would you be accompanied by mostly fluff or angst fanfics? Both? Explain why.

Probably has a few more angst things than fluf. Holly has lost her home, been taken away from her kiddos, and has a weird relationship with satan. So i do see a bunnnch of angsts. Most of it is probably her coping with her being seperated from her kiddos!

🛌: What tropes show up in fics involving your ship?

probably old men yaoi (not kidding djdjd), jackass x the one that put them in their place, dumbass x that my dumbass, love birds, and stuff like that fjdjd

💘: Why would people love your ship? Why would people dislike your ship? How might it start debates?

(doing holly x danton for this lol!) How danton is so in love with her, alwaus taking time out of his day to make lunches for both of his partners, and how holly can seen sorta flinching when danton gets hurt (shows she actually cares for him in the game-)

hate is because it gets inbetween the nina x danton ship (bc they are canonly married) and how holly can still be seen sorta rude to him or "uncomfortable" (shes not dw shes just stunned)

Biggest debate would be if holly loved danton or if shes uncomfortable and danton being weird and stuff like that even if thats not the case

I had heard the rumors about Justin Bieber and I am fully of the mind that all that shit rumored to be happening behind the scenes is legit, especially with minors. I mean, look at how the nickelodeon shit got covered up for so long. And say what you want about Taylor Swift, but even she has alluded to some shady stuff happening to her when she was young.

It's not like I feel disillusioned but the level of unapologeticness, the sense of being above justice and persecution these "celebrities my ass" (and his politician friends) have... it's terrifying. (BTW the mayor of New York City had once given P Diddy the citizen award or something... coincidence? I think not.)

This could totally just be conspiracy theory at its finest but people are talking about how it is also no coincidence that every female artist that gets big awards instead of Beyonce - at least some years ago - then makes some mention or praise to Beyonce in her acceptance speech. Adele broke her Grammy award to give half to Beyonce and Taylor Swift's first VMA acceptance speech was interrupted by Kanye West who got up to the stage and screamed Beyonce should have won because she made one of the best videos "of all time". Wild. By the way people now are saying Kanye West was trying to protect Swift from Beyonce's fury by embarrassing her, however this seems a tad too much to me. I believe it was more like West was at the side of the P Diddy camp at the time and just embarrassed Swift on Beyonce's account and he has switched sides / has regretted it since then. But the way you can tell the whole thing is shady is from Beyonce's reaction. Instead of looking uncomfortable or diplomatic due to how poorly chosen the moment of West's praise was, she lowkey celebrated him for interrupting and ruining her colleague's acceptance speech. She's like "ah my gahd" *looks at everyone around*. I don't care for any of those artists but I feel so much for Taylor here that was GROSS

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on: It's not a hill I will kill on, every Regulus characterization is a good characterization, but:

Regulus was a blood supremacist and idealised Voldemort, however he did not use the Mudblood slur.

Please, consider this evidence from Kreacher's Tale. When citing Regulus Kreacher says: "For years he talked of the Dark Lord, who was going to bring the wizards out of hiding to rule the Muggles and the Muggle-borns..." and not long after that he goes: "The Mudblood touched Kreacher, he will not allow it, what would his Mistress say?"

And why is that you ask? Why does a boy raised in a household where Mudblood is only one of many degoratory terms tossed around, presumably casually and on daily basis, stick to Muggleborn so persistently that his House Elf knows to use it when citing him? Why, because he knows it's a word unfit for polite company and he was raised the world's most politest little boy!

(We can see evidence of that in Sirius, when he's being 'polite' to Mrs Weasley in OotP. I'm not going to copy paste the interactions but in the "Harry has the right to know about Voldemort!" argument in Ch1, Molly loses her cool faster than Sirius. It's also present in Snape's memories when they first meet on the train. James is like "Eew, Slytherin stinks!" and Severus' like "You stink!" and Sirius is making polite, neutral noises.)

IN CONCLUSION: Regulus is like a TikTok user, living in fear of some higher power that would punish him in ways unimaginable if he so much as thinks a foul word. But don't worry! He can eviscarete his enemies with polite words and a benign smile. (He learned from Narcissa ♥).
