Lockwood reread commentary pt. 2:
Now that I’m closer to Kipps’ age than Lucy’s, I find the idea of him at 20-22ish having to babysit manage a team of roughly 15-17 year olds kind of hilarious. He’s really just a young adult trying to figure out his life and then there’s this team of grimy children pulling insane stunts and roasting him at every turn. But at the same time he’s the closest thing to an adult they’ll trust and they’re also his only friends so he has to stick around and try to keep them alive.
Lockwood & co: *does something outrageously illegal*
Quill Kipps, old enough to have a consciousness: this is fine

I rub my thumb over the stub of my missing finger top, bitten off by one of Madoc's guards, and realize abruptly that if I told Cardan about it, he might understand. Maybe more than anyone, he'd comprehend the odd mingling of fear and shame I feel -- even now -- when I think of it. For all our conflicts, there are moments when we understand each other entirely too well. (Jude, QON, Ch 20)

He considers explaining how much he despised the palace as a child, how he dreamed of escaping Elfhame. She knows most of that already. (Cardan, HTKOELTHS)
Once, she told Cardan the story of confronting Madoc after she'd drugged him, but before the poison began to work. (Cardan, HTKOELTHS)
Tumblr media
Soft evidence of Jude and Cardan removing their armor, “one piece at a time”, via sharing their stories with each other.

I know it was yesterday but I would still like to take a moment to spot light the women in Lockwood and Co. for International Women's day. Lucy, Flo, and Holly particularly have made an impact on me that I don't think I realized until very recently. Lucy taught me emotions and empathy are not weaknesses. They lead us to the people we need, our truest friends, and help us figure out exactly who we are. She showed me what sacrifice means and that loving people is always worth it.
Flo taught me to live life where I am. She's haunted by her past yes, but she showed me how to make a space for your ourself in the present, no matter what that looks like for each individual. She's given me the courage to make the jokes that are usually left unsaid. She taught me to take matters into my own hands and step in when someone needs help. She also showed me it's okay to need the silence, that it's okay to need the isolation of a river wide and dark. But to never forget that I have people who love me waiting just beyond the shore.
Holly has taught me much, but more than anything she has taught me to love myself. She showed me parts of me that I had always hated and made me see their beauty. She taught me that being meticulous is not a crime and that people will appreciate that talent. As a character, Holly has taught me that first impressions are not everything. You're view of a person can and should change as you form a deeper connection with them. She's shown me what resilience looks like. She's taught me that the wild heart I have is nothing to be afraid of. And she's taught me that home is built not from brick and mortar but with love and perseverance.

OH END ME. I looked up the relevant quote in Elminster's Daughter [because again I haven't read it in full yet]. It's not that El has control over their fertility. MYSTRA does. Mystra has full say in whether her Chosen have children and when. I'm gonna start eatin the fckn drywall.

doing a reread of the lockwood books and-
Show!Lucy: I am traumatized by the death of my female best friend whom I was best friends with. I know how to do a perfect smokey eye. I never wanted to be an agent and am easily frightened, but I am otherwise Talented and empathetic. I wish I was dead, but not as much as Lockwood. I eat biscuits funny.
Book!Lucy: I hate anything remotely feminine so much. I have Zero female friends for a solid three books. I'm incredibly nosy and need to know everything, all the time, especially if it's about Lockwood. I don't wish I was dead but I wish I could kill. In fact I can, and I have.
Both: Brown women make me extremely jealous and insecure. Chucking things (e.g. swords) is a valid solution to most problems.

I’m probably getting way ahead of myself, but like I’ve been imagining the perfect way to tease Lockwood and Co. season two.
(mild) Hollow Boy Spoilers!! (also Creeping Shadow spoilers in the tags)
So like the camera starts outside 35 Portland Row, and zooms in to the door, as though the audience is walking up to it. We hear the bell, and who answers?
Miss Holly Munro, looking all perfect and pleasant. She greets the camera, introduces herself and says something like “Thank you so much for choosing Lockwood and Company as the solution to your psychic troubles, Mr. Lockwood will meet you through here.”
We follow her through the front hall (I feel like this shot would be a great spot to have hints about the season, like maybe a newspaper talking about the Chelsea outbreak left on the table next to the skull lamp or something) into the living room.
When she opens the door, we see the endings of Lucy and George fighting over something (idk maybe a biscuit or a chair), quickly seating themselves all proper and client-ready.
Lockwood, ignoring this, stands up with his Lockwood grin, and walks to be next to Holly (framed on the opposite side of Lucy, gotta get in as many hints as possible), and says, “Hello, I’m Anthony Lockwood, I hear you’ve had some trouble with bleeding footprints?”
And then it cuts to just the title screen of the show with maybe a release date.

Lockwood and Co. Christmas Headcannons (Part 3)
The first year Holly joins Lockwood and Co. for Christmas, Lockwood makes sure to have lots of sprigs of holly to decorate Portland Row with.
He thinks he's funny.
Holly does not.
