You know, the technique of Minato the Hiraishin. There are several variations of this technique, but the one that strikes me the most is when during the fourth war, Genma, Raido and Iwashi teleport Mei Terumi and tell she ‘We can use the Fourth's technique, we just need to do it in a group’ Do you think Minato himself taught them this technique in person?I've always liked to think that they received the title of ‘hokage guards’ because Minato trained them for some time. I'd love to know what you think - your illustrations are great!
Hi!! Thank you, glad you hear you like my drawings!! 💖
Well, the last time I read the war arc was ten years ago with the weekly releases, so my memory is a bit fuzzy (not a fan of the arc so I prefer to delete it from my mental headcanons lol), but I think I remember what you’re talking about! Haha, this is a fun ask, let me ramble about that.
Okay, so… we have three guys around Kakashi’s age (in fact, if I remember correctly Genma is Gai’s teammate), but nowhere near Kakashi’s level. Three guys who were around 13-14 years old when Minato rose to power, and who were, at best, newly jounin or even chunin (again, Kakashi was promoted to jounin at 12 and that was an extraordinary ocurrence. And we can agree that these three don’t have Kakashi’s talent).
And you’re telling me that these three kids were the "Hokage Guard Platoon", in charge of protecting the legendary Yellow Flash himself? Yeah Kishi, no way xD
Since you asked for my thoughts, here’s my headcanon: I think that it was peacetime (so things were more or less chill), these kids probably admired the Yellow Flash and now the Fourth Hokage (maybe they were even his fanboys) and Minato thought it would be funny to keep then around as the “Hokage guards.”
And if Minato is going to keep them around, they need a way to get away fast. Because Minato is not a team player, he is a one-man team: he is very fast, strikes even faster and has the Hiraishin to get away quickly if shit hits the fan. He doesn’t need three kids around in the case someone decides to attempt an attack on his person because they will be more of a hindrance than a help (plus, he already lost two kids when he wasn’t around to watch their backs, he doesn’t need another three dead ones).
So, what can he do to solve this? Easy, teach them the Hiraishin! But the Hiraishin is not that easy to learn, you need the power and the skill, and although these three looked like they had the skill (performing a jutsu with other people as a team has to be much more difficult than doing it yourself alone) they lacked the raw chakra needed to power up the technique, so he modified it for them to use as a team.
TL;DR: Minato thought it was hilarious to have three kids trailing behind him like ducklings and taught them the Hiraishin not to protect him, but to protect themselves and get away while he kicked some ass. They're more like Minato's second genin team than a guard, imo.
#koko talks#minato namikaze#namikaze minato#hokage guard#naruto#yondaime hokage#and that's my headcanon about it!!#honestly this whole Hokage Guard never made a lot of sense to me#like#the Hokage already has the ANBU to guard and protect him if necessary#he doesn't need another guard full of kids to watch his back#in fact this looks more like his second genin team than his guard tbh#anyways thanks for the ask! 💖#please excuse any typo/grammar mistake sometimes my English fails me lol

So, Minato Sama. You've just been given the Hokage position. What's the first 5 things on your official hokage agenda?
Sama? Cue a sheepish grin. What makes you think he has an agenda?
He has a list. In categorical order.
ANBU ANBU assignments - members, as well as missions - are assigned directly by the Hokage. In the Hokage's absence, the defacto lead is assigned to a trusted aide. During Minato's term, that is Nara Shikaku. There should be no interference from any of the councils unless the Hokage specifically requests it. Also there's this matter of the ROOT division he's looking into. It's a redundant idea. Who the heck came up with it, again? 🤔
Konoha Ninja Academy The Konoha Ninja Academy has been following the same structure since the Nindaime's reign. The times - and frankly, demographics - have changed since then. They need an updated entrance test and assessment methods, as well as a streamlined curriculum that includes introduction to fuuinjutsu.
Hokage Guard Platoon An elite platoon comprised of shinobi handpicked by the Hokage. The purpose of the platoon is to act as an escort unit whenever the Hokage has to travel beyond the village's perimeters i.e., to another village or to the Daimyo's palace. The 'kage' is seen as the strongest shinobi of a hidden village. However, that does not make them infallible. The guard platoon exists to ensure that there is a statistically significant chance of the kage returning to the helm, irrespective of the scenario.
Civilian protection reforms Reforms aimed specifically to protect civilian rights to trade and collaborate with other civilians from friendly villages. Konoha, although a representation of Hi no Kuni's militia, has a sizeable civilian population. Said civilian population dabbles in trade and farming which, if utilized and fostered, will decrease the village's dependence on its shinobi for bringing in funds.
Village Ambassador Program (pending external approval) In the wake of the third shinobi war, the need of the hour is to form better bonds with the victors (as well as the losers). One way of doing that is through Chunin ambassadors who can periodically act as a means of cultural exchange. If this works well enough with Chunin, the program can be extended to include civilian entrepreneurs (in conjunction with #4).

I'm disappointed that temari doesn't lead anything in boruto unlike sakura or ino. she's a jonin like sakura and sakura gets to lead something but not temari. I think she's a great leader especially in the war. she was the kazekage's advisor and bodyguard I thought she could lead the hokage's guard platoon? sakura is in it in novels but it could be a nice team for temari to lead, maybe even a genin team but I'm not a fan of the idea. definitely should be with shikamaru aiding naruto and leading actual missions. well I like her ambassador thing but with tv and live facetime and the current technology that even allows automatic sensing and copying jutsu I thought she would be useless in that. maybe lead the chunin exams proctors?
I would have also liked for Temari to have been in charge of something, because her skills and experience certainly warrants that kind of a responsibility, but oh well.

I found and fell in love with your work after looking through the Ao3 tags for Genma and Raidō-centric fics!!!
If you have any headcanons for some of your fav underrated Naruto minor characters, you should totally share them sometime!
oh gosh i'm so sorry it took me this loooooong
and thank you for the support!! i really didn't think i'd be writing about two of "those guys" but here i am!
i have so many headcanons about the naruto universe in general and i do want to share them someday!! it also feels a little weird (in a good way) how some of my favorite naruto fanfics have little to do with the canon itself and more to do with the relationships the characters have with each other.
the headcanons (some already pretty popular and some a little controversial) i can think of at the moment are:
members of the hokage guard platoon (genma, raidou, iwashi), and a lot of konoha jounin, were former anbu
kakashi is asexual; or at least he might be interested in sexual pleasure, just not sex with another person
gai can get it (and he will get it in one of my fics!)
aoba is a pretty good tracker/sensor type ninja!
raidou and hayate were on the same anbu squad
anko didn't "let herself go" in the post-canon (aka, Boruto), she just did what she finally wanted to do in life, eat good and live happy
tenten (my fave of the konoha kids) isn't an orphan and is a descendant of a konoha blacksmith
possibly more to come in my series on Ao3: Tori-Hana-Ken
thank you!!

The Hokage Guard Platoon and Flying Thunder Formation
Here I explain (at great length) my personal headcanon on Genma, Raidou, and Iwashi’s chakra types and why it takes all three of them to do the Flying Thunder God jutsu. The explanation gets a bit long, sorry.
A while ago, I wrote a long post on how Tenten should have had Hiraishin no Jutsu and how good she’d be with it. You can find it on my blog if you’re interested (tagged under “back on my hiraishin bullshit”) because Tumblr’s a goober and won’t let me link it.
So I’m writing a fic of it (because of course I am), and in it, Tenten’s gonna find one of Minato’s kunai on a mission, find out what it is, and eventually learn the Hiraishin no Jutsu. As I was plotting the fic out, I hit a problem, because there was no one to teach it to her. Sure, Tenten could learn it on her own, but no one’s perfect, and she should have a teacher so she doesn’t have a fuck up of epic proportions and accidentally time travel or teleport into the void and die, which is exactly what Gai is going to tell her in the fic with less profanity.
Originally, I was gonna create an OC to do it since there’s no one else to teach her. Minato’s out, because he’s just a little dead, and Tobirama is not only dead, but also a jutsu hoarder and would never teach anyone. So then I was stuck, because those two the only ones in Naruto who know the Hiraishin. Or so I thought.
Because then, I had a fucking epiphany and realized Genma Shiranui also knows it.
The Hokage Guard Platoon was taught a minor version of Hiraishin by Minato. It consists of three tokubetsu jounin: Genma Shiranui, Raidou Namiashi, and Iwashi Tatami. During his reign, when they served him, Minato taught them the Hiraijin no Jutsu, or Flying Thunder Formation Technique (imma just call it Hiraijin). Hiraijin works the same way as Hiraishin, but it takes all three of the tokujo to do it.
So then came another problem: why does it take all three of them to pull off that jutsu?
(Everything after this is my theory and headcanon)
In the manga, I think Kishi just wanted to hype up Minato’s abilities and say “hey look he can do something that takes 3 regular ninja to do, so he’s pretty strong!” and I replied, “fuck that, that’s a horrible explanation” and sat there for 40 minutes staring off into the middle distance trying to come up with a better explanation. Here’s what I’ve got:
Genma, Raidou, and Iwashi had the wrong chakra type and they couldn’t stabilize their individual seals.
Important Note: when I say chakra type, I don’t mean nature transformation, I mean what type(s) of jutsu someone’s chakra is suited for. I found this amazing headcanon list of chakra types which I used as reference, so read it because I’m basing everything after this on that. (I reblogged it and added one to it and it should be a fairly recent post on my blog if you want to see it. Credit goes to @deepest-dope and this hellsite once again won’t let me link the original post so fuck tumblr.)
(this paragraph is canon information) Back on topic, Hiraishin and Hiraijin use a seal formula as the “lightning rod” to which a person teleports (hence the name). The way Hiraishin/Hiraijin works is that the seal formula contains a bit of the user’s chakra sealed into it (that’s why the jutsu should also be classified as partial fuinjutsu; it uses a seal to work) and the user just reverse-summons themselves to their own sealed chakra.
Seals have to be balanced, according to canon, so I headcanoned that Genma, Raidou, and Iwashi had the wrong chakra types for the Hiraishin seal, so their individual seals were too unstable (I’ll go into more detail as to why in a moment). When they did a joint seal and each one of them sealed a bit of their chakra into the same seal, it balanced, hence the need for all three of them to make the technique work. Using that list of chakra types, I just picked which ones worked with each of the three.
Genma: I headcanoned him as a stealth chakra type. This means his chakra is light and naturally suppresses itself, which is not good for Hiraishin, because he can’t sense the location of his own seals.
Raidou: He’s a taijutsu type (I’m pathetic and picked it out just because he’s skilled with a sword and we don’t see many jutsu from any of these guys). His chakra’s heavy and doesn’t really like to go out of his body, so putting it into a seal is a hassle. Even worse is that taijutsu type chakra is yang heavy, which is the exact opposite of the chakra used for sealing (yin chakra), which makes the seal even more weak and unstable by himself.
Iwashi: Also a stealth type, so he’s got the same issues as Genma, even though he’s also a sensor (I know he isn’t in canon, but this whole post is me saying fuck canon anyway). The sensor type chakra does give him the benefit of being yin heavy, which is good for seals, but useless if he can’t sense it because of its natural suppression tendencies.
So, seeing all these issues, Minato, fourth Hokage and seal master, pondered on how to fix it and came up with an idea. A group seal that would balance itself because each person’s chakra type was so different from the others’ chakra types.
Raidou’s heavy chakra is balanced out by the two other light chakra types. Iwashi’s sensor type chakra is yin heavy, while Raidou’s taijutsu chakra is yang heavy, balancing those out. Genma’s stealth chakra is balanced between yin and yang, so it won’t affect that ratio. The taijutsu chakra and sensor chakra will cancel out the self-suppressing nature of the stealth chakra, so they’ll be able to sense their seal and draw themselves to it.
So that solved that problem. Yay!
So a quick question I’d like answered for my fic: How do you think Tenten and Genma’s interactions would be based on what little we know of their canon personalities? Chaotic and full of craziness? Snarky and full of back and forth quips? Casual and friendly?
If you guys have any criticisms or additions for my headcanons, I’d love to hear them! Thanks for reading this monster of a post!

apparently there's cellphones in the boruto-verse and now I'm 100% convinced kakashi would play those otome dating sim games. feet kicked up on the hokage desk, his poor ANBU are subjected to listening to the pros n cons of various shoujo male protagonists.

Okay wait if Genma and Raidou are in Kakashi's ANBU team, what's going on with the Hokage Guard Platoon? Does it just consist of different people or is it something you've also changed because of its illogicality in the greater scheme of canon? (Also if it was mentioned in Legacy and I somehow missed it, I apologize, but IJ is still down and I can't check.)
You’re right, Anon, we haven’t addressed the Hokage Guard Platoon in Legacy. Minato does have a dedicated set of guards: Wolf, Panther, Lynx, and Turtle (and doubtless several others, because those four need to sleep sometimes) but that’s where the similarity ends.
The Hokage Guard Platoon didn’t even show up in the manga until well after we’d established our canon for ANBU Legacy, and let’s be honest, it is illogical. So while the Hokage does have a dedicated guard, Genma and Raidou aren’t part of it, and the 3-person hiraijin no jutsu isn’t a thing.

Konoha Organisations
The Konoha shinobi society is organised into several units placed under the control of the Hokage. Each unit has Jōnin or Special (Tokubetsu) Jōnin in charge of it, and they report to the Hokage and his advisers.
The Hokage sits at the top of the society, discussing issues with their Advisors. The two official advisers of Hiruzen Sarutobi are Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu, living through the previous wars together.
The Jōnin Commander supports the Hokage, aiding in directing the villages units and representing the regular forces.
Some groups and units known only the the Hokage and higher ranking individuals. ROOT was one of these secretive organisations, a sub-division of the ANBU initially shut down by the Sandaime, illegally operated until it was finally disbanded after Danzo Shimura’s death during the Godaime reign.
Operations Unit:
In other words, regular shinobi forces which are the backbone of the system. Teams or specific individuals handle the majority of the missions that the village receives, and are also tasked with other duties such as education, administration, etc. Most ninja are in this division, from genin, chūnin, special jōnin and jōnin.
Medical Corps:
The medical teams and medical-nin within this sector support the general shinobi forces through healing the sick and injured whether in village (coordinating with ordinary doctors) or on the battle field. They develop new techniques, study medicines, research diseases and further their anatomy understanding to advance their healing capabilities. They are divided into several groups by speciality, such as emergency staff or technical research. Some medical-nin are skilled enough to join regular forces and are called field medical-nin.
ANBU:
This division is under direct control of the Hokage, and only accept order from them. They are covert operatives who specialise in spying, assassination, and other difficult or risky missions. The Hokage selects them personally, regardless of age or gender, and they are meant to be the most elite of the forces. The individual units are composed according to the goal and difficulty of their missions.
Konoha Intelligence Division:
This organisation within the village is composed of many sub-divisions, such as the Konoha Torture and Interrogation Force which is a special division headed by Ibiki Morino. Prior to the fourth shinobi war, they worked alongside the Analysis Team which was headed by Inoichi Yamanaka. Prisoners or the dead are kept here here to extract information from them for the benefit of Konoha.
- Chūbu appears to be a modern ranking in Konoha given to Sai, and implies it may be a type of support unit.
- The Twenty Platoons (Nijū Shōtai) were created by the Godaime, Tsunade Senju, to search for the Akatsuki. It consisted of twenty teams of four individuals.
—————————————-
Outside of Konoha, other lands follow their own customs and culture which creates a different type of organisation within the individual villages.
*Shinobi Ruler/Head Shinobi - A rank found within Kumo above jonin, they’re given the authority to represent their village’s interests.
*Kinkaku Force was an elite team of twenty shinobi from Kumo, which is now disbanded.
*Hunter Squads - A special unit of Kiri’s own Hunter-nin, created solely to hunt down and dispose of rogue shinobi/missing-nin, they possess medical and assassination training to aid their goals.
*Twelve Guardian Ninja are a group of twelve elite shinobi invited by the Land of Fire’s Daimyo to become his body guards.
*Puppet Brigade was a division in Suna of skilled puppeteers during the Second Shinobi War.
*Explosion Corps was an organisation within Iwa composed of individuals holding the explosion release kekkei genkai.
*Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist is an organisation of seven skilled individuals who wielded the legendary blades of Kiri.
(Fourth Shinobi War Divisions to be covered at a later date)

Hello there :D uh-
Where do I even start lmao- I should perhaps praise your art work lol, everything looks so good! Funny thing, I've been gone for 4 months and just came back a few weeks ago (so safe to say, as a big fan of da golden boi, I've been deprived of Minato content for that amount of time). I just went through your art that I've been missing out on, and I friggin smiled like an idiot the entire time, some of cute/wholesome ones makes me feel like wanting to squish em (/lh /hj lol-) and some of them reminds me why I even like this man to begin with (he hot-)
Thank you for the food, it's really good :D I might resort to staring at your artworks for motivation if I ever bump into an art block at some point lmao- anyways, a lil question, how do you think Minato learns the Hiraishin? Like, I was kinda hoping the one shot would cover that, but eh, I'll take my Minakushi content and the origin story of Rasengan. Did Hiruzen just look at the kid, hand him Tobirama's scroll that contains the jutsu and was like "go commit some crime" but he didn't commit crime, at least within the village? (Might gonna draw that actually lmao-)
Ahfksd thank you! 🥹💞💞 And welcome back! I hope you stay around and keep enjoying my content! I'll keep drawing Minato, of course xD
I'll be honest with you, ever since it was revealed that the Hiraishin wasn't Minato's jutsu, I haven't given it much thought lol (I had a lot of theories about how he developed it, but since that's not canon anymore... eh)
But thinking about it right now, I don't think Tobirama wrote it down.
It's a very useful jutsu, and yet no one knows how to use it until Minato appears, and no one knows how to use it afterwards (the only ones that do are the Hokage Guard Platoon and that's because Minato taught them a version of it). Konoha is full of talented people, it's kinda weird no one has tried to learn it and succeeded, right? Hell, Orochimaru himself would have learned it just like he did with the Edo Tensei if he had the opportunity to do so.
What I think happened is that Hiruzen himself taught Minato the Hiraishin, or at least, the basics of it, over which Minato would develop his own version of the technique. He's the Professor, after all, rumored to know every the jutsu in the Leaf, and while that's debatable, he should have some idea how one of his old sensei's most useful jutsu worked.
He probably saw Minato (the genius of that generation who also rescued the new Jinchuriki from a bunch of Kumo jounin as a genin, who was fast as hell and also Jiraiya's cherished student to boot) and thought the Hiraishin would suit his fighting style.

|| Inspiration behind the Hiraishin no Jutsu? P.s. Your stupid guard platoon may be turned into chutney some day soon, if they keep denying to let the Godiame use it fir a quick visit to Tanzaku Quarters. She'd gamble on getting away with their murder if they keep refusing.
You have no idea what you’ve asked for - demo, I’ll be as brief as I can.
Please note: this is my interpretation. Yours may differ. Which is fine.
I’ll tackle the motivation bit first: Minato has always been described as quick, nimble, if you will. Couple that with the fact that he’s a sensor type, and…well, the need for something that compliments both becomes obvious, doesn’t it? I personally headcanon that he developed the Hiraishin during the Second Shinobi War through experimenting with chakra tags - imbue/mark something with your own chakra, and you’d be able to sense it better than anything else over certain distances [His sensory peripheral increases with experience/better chakra control]. The fact that they were at war during the time would provide ample opportunity to experiment and create something like this.
Additional, random note to go with the aforementioned: It helps when you happen to hail from a village where the first and second Hokages were considered legends. Its not too far-fetched to believe that the seeds of possibility for Minato messing around with the concept itself may have been planted by rumors surrounding the Nindaime’s arsenal of jutsu. He was the fastest shinobi of his time, after all.
Alright, back to Minato. Chakra, as you know, is a combination of physical and spiritual essences. The fact that sensory types exist in the manga hint towards the fact that every chakra signature has a certain frequency; an almost mathematical aura if you will. Minato was a very good sensor. If he could identify the frequency and align it with his own [coupled with the shunshin no jutsu], the Hiraishin would be plausible. Think about it, point A and point B share the same frequency; as does the object traveling between them.
Speaking of, Minato cannot be credited with creating the jutsu itself [he stumbled upon it] - that belongs to Senju Tobirama. It is also very likely that the improvements he manages to make to the jutsu formula [which made most opponents in the battlefield soil themselves during the Third Shinobi War as a result] came around as a result of understanding the Nindaime’s technique. In fact, knowing Minato, he personalized it so no one could steal it/adapt it.
Their jutsu formulas are vastly different. I’m adding a manga shot. Brace thy browser:
Here’s a clearer shot from the anime - a secondary source of information.
Tobirama’s formula looks like an actual summoning fuuin - Minato’s is a cornier [it apparently translates to something about endurance, shinobi and love; typical, really] version that relies more on frequencies. He uses Tobirama’s initial design and improves it to make it faster and more versatile. Tobirama admits that in the manga [631].
Minato uses the Hiraishin with his kunai, and developed a variation of it which involved projecting certain chakra frequencies onto large objects [when he teleported Kyubi’s biju bomb] and shifting said object to another, marked place. What’s important is point A and point B.
My conversation with @bluesenju makes a cameo in this. Here’s a watered down version of the conception of the jutsu itself:
The Hiraishin jutsu is a type of summoning jutsu; inter-dimensional travel if you will. The user summons the self from point A to point B - and since this is a play on space and time, the action is seen as instantaneous. The original conception of the jutsu came around the time Tobirama was developing the Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei technique, since it involves inter-dimensional/reality summoning.
He and I agree that being a sensor would be a good pre-requisite for the Hiraishin. Tobirama and Minato, being exceptionally good sensors, happen to employ it likewise. That would make the jutsu extremely difficult to master [which is why there are no other known notable users] and since Hashirama sealed most of Tobirama’s secret jutsu away, you can very well imagine that Minato wouldn’t allow anyone to get their grubby little hands on his own formula.
In fact, he taught his Guard Platoon a variation of the jutsu - a tweaked formula, so that it involves all three of them - Genma, Raido and Iwashi to teleport one, marked object between point A [themselves] and point B [a marked area/object/plain]. The formula, as I like to believe, is aligned with their chakra signatures/frequencies, so the object they teleport has to be imbued by it likewise in order to be teleported to the desired location.
The jutsu was developed to make them better guards - not to aid future Hokages with regards to emptying the village treasury >> @senjutsunade quit it.
Sidenote: If Tobirama and Minato could flawlessly tag-team during the Fourth Shinobi War, you can imagine the potential they could have had as allies. They offed themselves too young.
If you have questions related to the original conception of the technique, feel free to talk to bluesenju - a wonderful writer, really. I badger the mun quite often.

i don't particularly enjoy boruto but i'm not a hater either, but there's one detail i don't understand about the borutoverse in general and it's the contradictions there are all the time.
first the idea of shino as a jonin that was created by the anime in a diagram but that was also discarded by themselves, like they didn't agree with their own idea.
second that i thought ino would become the head of the yamanaka clan but that's actually a filler episode that was talking about ino leading people with mind transfer because that's the jutsu se was learning in filler. i didn't even know that inoichi was never described as clan head just shikaku and hiashi why would sp pull that bs?
then mitsuki being the official medic in team 7 in the manga from the beginning but the anime never shows it because they always push the sarada agenda when sarada doesn't need to be one just because she's sakura's child.
and then there's the problem with sakura in the manga, anime and novels set in boruto. so in the manga, sakura is just a regular doctor, no particular position just heals random people here and there and that's it. but in the anime she's the greatest medical boss ever and i love it she's the head of the medical department, she also directs konoha hospital and she's a teacher medical ninjutsu. she's packed in her own field and i really appreciate sp doing all that for her even when they're infamous for making her look bad.
but what's this contrast between the anime and the manga? why is the anime making sakura the biggest boss b1tch ever while in the manga she's almost like she doesn't have a job? i lowkey would love if ikemoto "canonized" or mentioned sakura's jobs from the anime. the contradictions are a little off-setting.
i know that the anime is the canon and the manga is just to tell future events but it's still two paralel worlds.
because if you include all the novels in the boruto time, sakura has a lot of influence outside the medical field too that reminds me of her connections with team 7 that she doesn't speak to anymore.
sakura goes on missions as jonin in 2 novels and gaiden, she's the head of the medical department, director of konoha hospital, sensei and doctor in the anime, she's the founder of the mental health clinic in sakura hiden that sp will never mention, she's a bodyguard from the hokage guard platoon and also worlds briefly with shikamaru in decoding teams in naruto retsuden and in the same book she's established as a pillar of konoha.
she's an outstanding character and a female role model. why is it that the manga will never acknowledge these? sometimes i prefer to watch the anime than the manga because the responisiblities are different
first the idea of shino as a jonin that was created by the anime in a diagram but that was also discarded by themselves, like they didn't agree with their own idea.
Shino isn't a Jonin, don't take the word of some random obscure diagram that's not readily available to the masses. The manga didn't say he is a Jonin, and neither did the anime.
then mitsuki being the official medic in team 7 in the manga from the beginning but the anime never shows it because they always push the sarada agenda when sarada doesn't need to be one just because she's sakura's child.
I strongly disagree with the idea that the anime has pushed for the notion of Sarada being a medic.
and then there's the problem with sakura in the manga, anime and novels set in boruto. so in the manga, sakura is just a regular doctor, no particular position just heals random people here and there and that's it. but in the anime she's the greatest medical boss ever and i love it she's the head of the medical department, she also directs konoha hospital and she's a teacher medical ninjutsu. she's packed in her own field and i really appreciate sp doing all that for her even when they're infamous for making her look bad.
but what's this contrast between the anime and the manga? why is the anime making sakura the biggest boss b1tch ever while in the manga she's almost like she doesn't have a job? i lowkey would love if ikemoto "canonized" or mentioned sakura's jobs from the anime. the contradictions are a little off-setting.
I'm honestly rather sick of people saying things like this. So you think Sakura in the manga is just some random doctor who heals "random people here and there", and may as well be jobless? If that's what you think then I'm not gonna bother saying anything on this topic. I'm tired of reiterating the same points to people who allow their frustration of Sakura's current lack of on panel involvement, to severely cloud their judgement.
i know that the anime is the canon and the manga is just to tell future events but it's still two paralel worlds.
But I will say that the manga is the canon source of information, and it has always been the canon source, not the other way around. The anime expands on what the manga tells you.

He's got a lot on his mind... (Like a certain mask-clad jounin, for example. Or maybe a cute mokuton user? Maybe a few gate guards or a member of the Hokage's Guard Platoon either?)

When I watched the show and found out only Minato and Tobirama know Hiraishin, I was really confused and wondered why. So here’s my take on it.
Canon says Tobirama created a whole bunch of super powerful jutsu, including the Hiraishin, but I call bullshit on that (on him making the Hiraishin, I mean). This is what happened (headcanon, obviously):
Way back when, before the Senju v Uchiha conflict, a seal master created the Hiraishin, but it was created for transporting goods and/or people instantaneously to safety in times of war. It had far too long a seal formula, and took lots of chakra to use because the jutsu was used for transporting other items alongside the user, increasing chakra cost exponentially. It was incredibly inefficient, and wasn’t widely known as a result. No one had ever thought of using it to transport one person, as the formula was too long and it wasn’t worth all the code to move one person.
Then rolled around the Senju v Uchiha war and Tobirama, making an assload of jutsu to counter Madara and Izuna’s abilities. While looking around for some new jutsu to add to his arsenal, he found a scroll detailing the Hiraishin no jutsu and its use. Tobirama, reading the scroll and realizing the potential combat applications, took the huge amount of fuin-code and condensed it to just this:
(his seal mark) and started off by using it as just another sealing jutsu, marking targets with his hands and teleporting to them to take them out.
He eventually realized he could put the formula on kunai and throw them, increasing the range and versatility of the jutsu while also giving him an effective escape route if he ever needed to quickly dodge attacks. Realizing that someone could use this for doing a lot of terrible things, he refused to teach it to anyone, and hid away the scroll.
So then Tobirama died, more canon stuff happened, and one day, a young Minato (probably teenaged? The timeline’s so fucked up that I have no idea how old he was) found the scroll with Tobirama’s notes on Hiraishin. Based on his own experience with sealing to reduce Tobirama’s formula down to this:
which is literally just four kanji, but whatever. Anyway, he took Tobirama’s notes on how to use the jutsu, and then used his natural speed to take that to 11 and just spam the jutsu, making him receive the name “Konoha’s Yellow Flash”.
Minato taught the jutsu to the Hokage Guard Platoon, which consists of Genma Shiranui, Raido Namiashi, and Iwashi Tatami, but they could only use it if all three of them worked together. (For headcanons on that, just go to the “back on my hiraishin bullshit” tag on my blog. Tumblr won’t let me link, as expected.)
To know the Hiraishin, you have to be good at sealing, and Minato never took on any sealing students, unfortunately. Before he could teach Hiraishin to anyone else, he died, and the knowledge was lost with him.
Naruto learned it during the war, but he used it maybe twice at most, and then never again so I don’t know if he really counts.
#back on my hiraishin bullshit#naruto headcanons#naruto theory#I only make these to write my thoughts down somewhere#literally this whole blog was started to write down my naruto fic thoughts#naruto#tobirama senju#minato namikaze#and of course I'm writing a fic where tenten learns it but that's irrelevant
