Favorite romance of all four Dragon age games and why ready set goooo

My favorite romance of all time has to be Leliana's. My very first DA game was Inquisition, which I played back in 2015. Leliana didn't really stick out to me (I was brand new to open world RPGs and was basically screaming/crying/throwing up the entire time). When I decided to play through the whole trilogy in order, I really fell in love with Leli. To me, she was the complete opposite of Inquisition Leliana. She was so sweet and gentle and understanding, and romancing her was so nice. You could tell she really loved the Warden, and was so supportive (she was my second Origins romance, Alistair being first. I have to say that all of the Origins romances are that same exact level of tender and sweet so they're all A+ for me).

When I replayed Inquisition for the second time, now having played through the first two games, I realized that Origins and Inquisition Leliana are NOT opposites, but still the same. When I was able to see that same kindhearted nature and compassion underneath all that doom and gloom, and the way she spoke about the HOF, GAH she sealed herself as my favorite right away 😭😭 all this is to say that I think Leliana is a SPECTACULARLY written character. Like I said before, all of the Origins romances were similar like that, love to see softhearted love blooming despite the horrors of the blight 😭

Will throw in an honorable mention but Neve has quickly made her way to the top of the list too!!! I loved her character and HONESTLY I related to her so much because I often feel like I'm struggling with romantic emotions and being vulnerable and AHH her character captured that PERFECTLY. I'm gonna stop myself before I write a 5 page essay about why I love Neve too but she is AMAZING.

Day 13 — Favorite Picture Official or Unofficial

Another question about the photos. I like it. There are several official photoshoot that I like. I can mention for example Bryan Adams' photoshoot in 2015 for Zoo Magazine; Olaf Heine's photoshoot for the promotion of Reise Reise in 2004; again Bryan Adams in 2022 on the occasion of the release of the band's eighth album; Andreas Mühe's photoshoot in 2012 on the occasion of the US tour, one for SZ Magazin and the other completely naked; the photoshoot for the Untitled album in 2019 by Jes Larsen; Mike Hutson's photoshoot in 2001; Olaf Heine's photoshoot in 2016 in Brazil; Gottfried Helnwein's mythical photoshoot for Sehnsucht in 1997 and 1998; Eugenio Recuenco's photoshoot for the single Amerika or the album Liebe ist Für Alle Da. And I'm not even talking about Frédéric Batier's photobooks, Jens Koch's exceptional work or Matthias Matthies' all too rare ones !

In short, there are a lot of official photos that I love. Rammstein was lucky enough to work with some very talented professional photographers !

I have selected a few that I particularly like :

Photo taken in 2005 on the very famous Bernauer Strasse, a historical place that perfectly reminds us that Rammstein's history is intimately linked to Germany's. I really like Olaf. If Matthias Matthies is the one who has known the band for the longest time (even before its creation), Olaf is the one who has collaborated the most with Rammstein, be it for live photos or photoshoots.

A photo from P.R Brown's photoshoot at Tommy Guns Barber in New York City in 2010. I find them really beautiful, very classy. It's a bit of an unusual photoshoot, because usually you see the guys either in the studio, in "industrial" locations, or on or near the stage. I don't know the story of this photoshoot, why they took these pictures in this place with these outfits. But the rendering is very classy !

This photo is from Jens Koch's 2019 photoshoot for Rolling Stone magazine. I like to see the guys wearing something other than dark colours. In this case, we are served with this photo, they look (almost) angelic. I like this picture because it's been 4 years since the guys had a photoshoot and 10 years since an album promotion photoshoot. And yet, there they are on top of each other, still united. Well, Richard seems more united with his Till, even downright possessive, but they all seem happy to be together and that's what counts !

This one of Motor Vertrieb taken at a tug-of-war competition and featured in the late Gert Hof's "band biographical" book. Just because Till and Paul make me burst out laughing every time I see it.

And this one by Danny Uhlmann in 2017 at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. It's so rare to see the six of them doing (off-stage) activities that it's touching. And I'm adding a heart to this photo for skin care !

ANYWAYS LET's BEGIN

1. What is your name?

Sy Mahariel

2. What is your real name?

That is my real name. Sy is short for Sylaira, if you wish to be pedantic. Most simply call me Grey Warden, which suits me just fine.

3. Do you know why you were called that?

I'm called Grey Warden because that's what I am. …Oh, you meant the name?

My parents died before I had the chance to ask them. Ashalle told me once that my mother honored Sylaise; I assume that's why. Our names are similar, though I'm not exactly the best disciple of the Hearthkeeper.

4. Single or taken?

Taken for granted, primarily. Next question.

5. Have any abilities or powers?

I am a Dalish hunter. What does that tell you?

…Oh, all right. We - the hunters, that is - are proficient with longbows, shortbows, light blades, and simple potion-making, though we usually leave that for the craftsmen. Basic survival and tracking skills are also standard. Personally, I prefer longbows. Mine is dragonthorn and sylvanwood.

And over the course of the Blight I've picked up the skills of a ranger, and Grey Wardens have their own abilities.

6. Some have called you a Mary Sue. Thoughts?

Is that a reference to some shem hero? There are far too many.

7. What's your eye color?

I'm sitting right in front of you. Have you not eyes? They are blue, last I checked.

The color used to be deeper, in fact. It's faded out some in recent months. Blight sickness will do that.

8. What's your hair color?

…Black, as you can see. Have you received a blow to the head recently? What is the relevance of this, anyways? If you're committing my likeness to paper, focus on the vallaslin. It is the Hearthkeeper, Sylaise's pattern of clan Sabrae. Also in blue, I may add.

9. Have you got any family members?

My clan is my family. I had to leave them when I was recruited by the Warden Duncan, or risk spreading the Blight to them all.

10. Oh? What about pets?

There is a wardog that imprinted on me after the battle of Ostagar. Clever thing, highly loyal, obsessed with food. He reminds me of an old friend of mine, so I call him Fenarel.

11. Now tell me about something you don't like.

You don't have enough paper in that little notebook of yours, Genitivi, nor do we have time. In summary, though: Darkspawn. The Chantry. Wastefulness. And arrogant shems who think they know what's best.

12. Do you have any hobbies you enjoy?

Look around us, old man. We are in the midst of a Blight. I am one of two total Grey Wardens remaining in the entirety of Ferelden. Do you think I have time for hobbies?

Before the Blight, I enjoyed assisting Master Ilen, the clan craftsman. He tells me I have a good hand for bowmaking.

13. Ever hurt anyone before?

I challenge you to find me a Dalish hunter who has not.

14. Ever killed anyone before?

[She stares deadpan at me.] Are you serious?

You're serious.

Yes, I have killed people, you stupid shemlen.

Humans threatening our clan. Bandits. Carta. Blood mages. Tevinter slavers. Overzealous templars. Casteless thugs. Deeply, deeply stupid farmers hoping for reward money. Idiot knights defending the honor of an honorless man. At least two Arls and a Teyrn. Shall I continue?

15. What kind of animal are you?

I am an elf.

Ah, metaphorically. I've no idea. Wardens are associated with griffons, are they not? Likely one of those.

16. What are your worst habits?

I hold onto hope when I should be practical, according to Sten. I am too forgiving, according to Morrigan. I am too compassionate, according to Shale. I catastrophize too much, according to Zevran, which seems silly, to me; we're in a Blight. This is a catastrophe. I am too reckless, according to Alistair. And I drink too much.

17. Do you look up to anyone?

In the clan, I looked up to the hahrens; we all do. I looked up to Duncan, when he was alive. Neither of those are available to me now.

18. Orientation?

Looks to be… south-southwest.

That's not what I meant.

19. Did you go to school?

Isn't that what shem nobles do with their children? No, we don't do that. We follow the Vir Tanadhal or Vir Atish'an, and every hunter knows the Vir Banal'ras. Dalish children are taught our history and culture by the hahrens. But no, there is no "school".

20. Would you want to marry and have children one day?

I did, once. I was… you humans call it 'betrothed'? I had hoped to marry Tamlen. But that is not possible anymore.

21. Have any fans?

Preoccupation with me tends to lead more to assassins than 'fans'.

22. What are you most afraid of?

I do not hold fear in my heart.

23. What do you usually wear?

I spend most of my time on the battlefield, so, armor.

24. Do you love someone?

Yes.

25. When was the last time you wet yourself?

What, like noble, commoner, mage? The Dalish don't do that.

28. How many friends do you have?

More than you'd think, although likely I will not see many of them again. And the people traveling with me will always be important to me.

29. Thoughts on pie? 

Leliana's mentioned that. It's a type of food, yes? I've never had it.

[We take a brief intermission while I find us some pie.]

This is… fruit? In a pastry? It's good. Impractical - we could never make such things in the aravels - but tasty.

30. Favorite drink?

The only 'drink' we get with any regularity is��� I'm not sure how to describe it, actually. Alistair calls it "Grey Whiskey". It's quite something.

In my clan, we make honey mead and wild fruit wines. Those always remind me of home.

31. What's your favorite place?

There is a birch grove in the Brecilian forest. I imagine it's fallen to the Blight, by now. I used to go there with Tamlen, a long time ago.

32. Are you interested in someone?

[She does not meet my gaze.] Even if I were, such follies are dangerous.

33. What's your cup size?

[I had barely enough time to notice her glare before her fist shot out and collided with my nose. In lieu of an answer, she threw a rag at me to staunch the blood.]

34. Would you rather swim in a lake, or the ocean?

[She laughs. It's unexpected, but a lovely sound.] Have you been to the Ferelden coast, Genitivi? It'd be safer to swim in Orzammar. Lakes, thank you very much.

35. What's your type?

Not you. Next question.

36. Any fetishes?

[She glares at me.]

37. Top or bottom? Dominant or submissive?

[She stands to leave.]

38. No, please don't leave. I'm sorry. Do you prefer camping or sleeping indoors?

[She sits back down.] You, old man, have a fondness for dangerous and inappropriate questions. This I will answer, though my patience wears thin.

I prefer camping. My entire life prior to the Blight, I remember being able to hear the wind in the trees and see the sky. It is comforting to know one's place in nature. Walls and roofs have their place, but I don't like them, and I particularly dislike being underground.

39. Do you carry anything sentimental?

…Yes. All Grey Wardens wear a pendant that we receive after the Joining. And I've kept my old hunting gloves; Ashalle gave them to me when I received my vallaslin, and they were made by Master Ilen. [After a long, heavy moment, she slips a ring off of her finger and places it in my palm. It is a simple band carved from wood, detailed with elfroot leaves, warm in the hand.] And this - you call it a promise ring, I believe. Tamlen gave me this, a long time ago, before we came of age, before the Blight, to declare our intent to marry. Ma vhenan. Ma abelas. It reminds me of what I have lost. I will carry it until my death.

Mhm. I recommend leaving the city, old man. You're in no condition to defend yourself from hordes of darkspawn, and they're approaching quickly.

I saw your back and forth with pro el/riels, what they do not get is history does not equate endgame. The have limited themselves to these little moments in an effort to make their ship bigger than it was, when it so obvious it was always a plot decoy to Elucien endgame. Chaol, Dorian, Nesryn, Tamlin, all are examples of characters who we thought would end up with certain characters and did not and they shared more than stolen glances and almost kisses.

How do el/riel ignore SJM's own words and explanation as to why she mated Elain and Lucien? She publicly has made it clear she had plans for them. She even went as far as to include them in her headcanon modern vacation when she wasn't even asked directly about them, she practically blurted it out. I find it funny how El/riels refuse to acknowledge it's existence, or say those are old interviews, but yet cling onto a 2015 comment about potential multiple mates. See the Hypocrisy ? The only interviews they care about as "evidence" are the ones that fit their narrative, same as textual evidence in the books.

There is always a counterargument why Azriel and Elain are endgame despite the multiple seeds set up for other potential storylines. Could SJM make them endgame? Sure, it is her world, but I find it less likely given the events of ACOSF. Like TOG, what happened in CoM, does not matter given the events of HoF, and so forth, so same applies to ACOTAR, does not matter if Elain and Az stole glances, if SJM introduces a mate, that ship has tanked IN FAVOR of the mate and considering she used heavy, prominent mate coding for Gwyn, says it all. She also did not need Gwyn if she wanted Az and Elain to end up together, she already had Elucien's mating bon, Azriel's unresolved feelings for Mor, along with Rhys disapproval of them as obstacles, there is no need to introduce Gwyn. Do El/riels really think SJM is dedicating this many roadblocks for them? Are they not familiar with her writing patterns? Character's arcs are about the struggle within themselves, their own healing and acceptance, not a million damn reasons why x and y can't be together.

Elain and Lucien were so minimally involved in ACOSF, it screams upcoming arc for them both in the future, while SJM took the time to plant seeds for Azriel and Gwyn. NO, these were not romantic, but that's not the point, all that matters is the potential.

SJM once said she loves for her couples to banter, challenge one another. When have Elain and Az ever bantered, why does Az HIDE who is he after 2 years of knowing her? Why per canon, stay away from her, say it's wrong. Hypothetically, done nothing to help her learn her powers or give her strength, the way we see with other endgame couples. In the few moments with Az and Gwyn, in another couples book, we see them banter, she looks at him for approval, asks to train with daggers, Az thinks of her joy, admires her. All El/riels can say is Gwyn is evil as a counterargument. Which is sad and pathetic. Like come, come up with something better than that.

When it comes to Az and Gwyn, we have two individuals who are warriors, will fight alongside battle with an upcoming war brewing, she may fly a pegasus, given Valkyrie lore , Az alongside her. SJM has done so much to set these two up as equals, the way she made Feyre almost as powerful as Rhys, Nesta leading an army of Valkyrie while Cassian leads the Illaryan's. Mates are equal. Like sorry, but Elain is not going to be alongside Azriel in that battlefield, she won't even wear leathers, her strengths lay elsewhere, and THAT IS OK, but she is so similar to Lucien, who also prefers words over violence. Yes, both will do what is necessary, but it is never their first choice.

In terms of Gwyn. Yes, she returned to the library, but where exactly could she have gone? She has no money that we know off, no family she knows left, SJM was not going to dedicate chapters at the end of ACOSF of Gwyn's decision to leave, that requires its own dedication and will be in future books, bu tshe did foreshadow it. There is no reason to give her a secret parent linage and unknown power if she was not meant to be a factor in upcoming books. Just as she foreshadowed Elain leaving the NC. She is giving readers clue's in the direction she is going. How people miss these context clues is beyond me.

It's one thing to say, I like Az and Elain because x,y,z and that is ok, I've been part of multiple fandoms and it's part of the fun in shipping couples, even couples who are not endgame, but to act as if more than half of the fandoms, yes, I do believe it is now more than half, including the El/riels who jumped ship publicly lack reading comprehension is absurd.

El/riels will attack and bully anyone who disagree, like where do they get off on acting as if their ship is the only one that can exist in the fandom? They are setting themselves up to look foolish if we are to go off the way that bonus chapter ended.

And what exactly is wrong with Gwyn returning to her home? Did everyone honestly expect her to move out just because she's started finding her way? Does she even earn a salary to move out? She has lived there for the last two years and the other priestesses are a family of sorts. So logically it makes sense for her to return there. Yes, I think SJM made it a point to mention that she returned there to show us that she's not completely healed and that makes perfect sense. Because no SJM heroine starts off her novel in a perfect place. She needs to start at the bottom and work her way up. Which means Gwyn returning to the library places her exactly where she needs to be when it's time for her to start her book. And spot on with Elain. The other characters don't seek her out, she doesn't want to wear leathers, the color of the Night Court sucks the life out of her, she tried using a weapon then returned it "and didn't look back." The mental gymnastics being done to make Elain a fit in with the IC (despite what Elain "declares" to anyone in a book that's not her own based of all the hints suggesting otherwise) is quite impressive. And YES! Elain and Az literally say nothing but awkward formalities to one another. She has now made two jokes to him because that's simply a characteristic of who she is (refer to the lines about the Human Queens and Amren) but do they honestly come across as two people who have ever had a REAL conversation during the entire time they have known one another? It's cringe worthy, how hesitant they are around each another. She could have made them endgame but the second she started the narrative that them being together is wrong, that she's too innocent for his world, that she doesn't know who he is, was when she said goodbye to that ship. That is all SJM ending a couple right there. Celeana had sex with Chaol and didn't end up with him. Feyre was engaged to Tamlin and didn't end up with him. E/riel had a near kiss and it's a joke if that's the thing that anyone is using to convince themselves of endgame. Of course SJM hasn't built on Elucien at all. Why would she? The second those two start talking, really talking, is the second they're going to realize how much they like one another. Elain isn't Nesta. Nesta could talk to Cassian and hold on to her anger in order to help her keep her distance. It was easy enough for SJM to have them interact but still keep them at arms length. But Elain is not an angry character. Once she and Lucien interact, there's nothing to really put them at odds. They're both really caring, and emotional characters who don't lash out. So the only way to make it look like they won't be together (since the will they / won't they needs to stay a mystery until their book) is to make it so they don't talk. Seriously, the second we get Elain or Lucien's POV and the second we see them really talk, you're going to KNOW they are ending up together. I think it's going to be so apparent and that's 100% why she's created this storyline where Elain refuses to interact with Lucien.

ERIC CUTLER (guitarist): "Kev Walker had an idea for an autopsy painting. We didn’t give him a lot of detail like we did for the original cover. Once we saw it, we liked it. But we never talked with him. Both Kent and Kev came up with such different ideas. (The cover) was just Kev doing his interpretation of a zombie autopsy. We were in Belgium in a pub the first time we saw it in about 1991."

CHRIS REIFERT (drummer/vocalist): "Peaceville was thinking about making an alternate to get more distribution, and we just thought it was cool to have more art. We liked the first cover but it was two for the price of one. I don’t know how (label founder) Hammy knew Kev. I think it’s the only album cover he’s ever done. Now he’s doing "Spider-Man" and "James Bond" comics. I think I talked to him on the phone once or twice. I did relay that there was someone named Spike who had done a drawing with zombie doctors. He was this 13-year-old cool kid and we jammed in his garage."

the fact that taylor and travis don’t even party as hard as you guys think 😭. she drinks at the games then they go out to a bar…big deal. imagine thinking that having a hof football player dad and a superstar mom would be embarrassing…

I agree that it wouldn’t be embarrassing and I personally have said many times I think she has a healthier (in terms of physical health but probably also emotionally atp) lifestyle with Travis than she did with Joe. I think she drinks LESS not more overall and she exercises a lot but I don’t think in the obsessive way she did back in like 2015/2016. I think being with an athlete is extremely good for one’s physical health. But also I do think their lifestyle will change when they have kids because everyone’s does BUT they don’t have kids rn and shouldn’t live like parents when they’re very much not. Also most kids find their parents embarrassing regardless of how hot and talented they are. Betcha Blue and the twins sometimes find Bey and Jay lame lol. Like part of being a kid is being embarrassed about your parents sometimes.

Dann wird auf einer Waldlichtung eine Leiche gefunden. Und allen ist klar, dass der Täter nur einer von ihnen sein kann … Rezension: In dem Buch Trügerische Nähe von Susanne Kliem geht es um die uns allen wohlbekannten Gefühle Eifersucht und Neid. Und ich glaube jeder von uns kennt diese Gefühle mehr oder weniger. Jeder denkt einmal der oder die sieht besser aus, die Person hat mehr Geld, oder, oder, oder. Im Fall von Livia ist es der makellose Körper, den man als erstes sieht. Man denkt ja immer, dass solche Menschen alles haben! Aber haben sie wirklich alles? Ist nicht auch das Aussehen ein gewisser Fluch? Gut, ich werde nun philosophisch. Am Anfang habe ich mir ein wenig schwer getan bei diesem Buch. Ich habe nun auch ein paar Tage darüber nachgedacht, woran es wohl gelegen hat. Es war nicht der Schreibstil oder die Ausdrucksweise. Nein, es war die Tatsache, dass Frau Kliem immer wieder aus der Sicht einer anderen Person die Geschichte weitererzählt. Dies macht sie geschickt und man kann so einen besseren Blick in die handelnden Personen werfen. Man muss sich halt erst einmal daran gewöhnen, zumal man sonst oft durch einen Ich-Erzähler durch die Bücher geführt wird. Und ich erinnere mich noch, dass ich mir bei solchen Büchern im letzten Jahr noch extrem schwer getan habe, wenn die Personen immer wieder gewechselt haben. Hat man sich erst einmal daran gewöhnt, geht es richtig flüssig weiter und man saugt die Hofgemeinschaft immer mehr in sich auf. Man erfährt vieles über die Sorgen und Nöte der verschiedenen Personen. Auch erfährt man einiges über das „Dorfleben“ des fiktiven Ortes vor den Toren von Berlin. Alles in allem nimmt einen Frau Kliem an die Hand und man lernt doch sehr viel über die menschliche Psyche. Und auch wenn es eine Leiche in diesem Buch gibt, ist es doch kein Krimi oder Thriller. Nein, ich würde es auch als Psychodrama bezeichnen, wie es Elisabeth Herrmann gemacht hat. Es ist für mich einfach ein lesenswertes Buch, welches einen recht schnell auf eine besondere Art fesselt. Ich habe mich sehr oft dabei erwischt, wie ich mein Vorhaben „nur noch ein Kapitel oder eine Person, dann mache ich Pause“ gebrochen habe und ich denke, dies sagt einiges über dieses Buch aus, welches durch die Aufteilung und der anderen Story einfach zu begeistern weiß.
