i'm locking in my choices for my Hobonichi 2025 purchase....it's the Denali Double-Down (Denali Weeks + Denali A6 graph notebook + Denali Weeks pencil board)

it took me forever to decide between the Denali Weeks and the Bow & Tie Sushi Weeks, but Denali won my heart.....even the choice of Sushi Weeks + Denali accessories was not enough. i think an icy blue planner will remind me to keep cool in 2025

Just wanted to share what I got for 2025 from Hobonichi. This year I've been using: A5 Avec, A6 HON, and a Weeks planner. The only thing I changed for next year is the A6 size. I wanted to buy a cover so I skipped the HON designs and got a plain one. I think the Only Is Not Lonely cover is a touching quote from the founder (and love that green). Also got the Unsodo Weeks because the colors just felt right and would match my current cover. It's cheery but not obnoxious.

Honestly none of the A5 covers were calling to me as much as last years by Tomitaro Makino. Already put my current planner inside. Love it. The botanical and earthy vibes took over. I love the green of the POTR and it really matches the A6 Only Is Not Lonely cover almost exactly. (Oh and I got an A5 notebook too because I've fallen in love with the paper and just loved the design.)

ok i knew hobonichi had a preview event at yoseka and I figured they just obviously didn’t let anyone take pictures but actually they had everyone sign an nda and gave them a little gift bag for their cooperation

my friend and i went hobonichi shopping the other day in preparation for the new school year :) i got the plaid with the red case for 2025, she got the chartreuse with the pretty cover, and the cat portrait is my 2024 that’s rapidly approaching its end. kinda scary to think about, but this is my last semester in school for what will probably be a looooooong time if not the rest of my life.

i always start out super strong and spend the rest of the year slowly burning out, but i don’t really have the luxury of doing that this time around lol… gonna do my best, see how far it gets me. hope the start of the school year is treating you guys well! 🤍🤍

as far as personal interests go, i’ve been playing a lot of genshin, knitting, beading, and reading nonfiction this summer. anyone else seen the hbo show chernobyl or read midnight in chernobyl? i’m reading it currently after watching the show during my wisdom tooth surgery recovery (rip) and i’m firmly down the rabbit hole, i fear !!!!!!

Let’s talk 2025 planners/journals!

This is my second year in the Hobonichi weeks and I’m really enjoying it. I’m very happy with the little book of memories I’m creating. However, since I have become more proficient in yapping on paper, I often find myself wishing for more space to write. I’d also like to experiment with bigger fonts and drawings. Because of this, the (for me) unnecessary things in the weekly spreads such as the quotes, moon phases and monthly calendar are starting to bother me as well. On top of that, none of the Hobonichi weeks designs that were revealed last week spoke to me. I’m considering the Sterling Ink b6 (or maybe a5) horizontal for next year, because it’s the same layout I’m used to, but bigger.

Let me know what you all are planning to use in 2025! I’m curious :)

A little to do list from last Friday. And I covered my books with some black Kraft paper, as we can see on the little notebook.

Of which, is no longer a field trips notebook (because I bought a hobonichi cousin for next year), this notebook is now a kind of work book for making my first zine. I’ll probably post some pictures at some point.

My favourite thing about all the paper covers (under clear covers) is that they each have their own unique point in which of my stickers i use and where I put them.

The last picture is some spooky black velvet cupcakes that I made last week. This week I made some very tasty flapjack.

📦 guess what finally arrived the other day….. my 2025 hobonichi planner !!! i got the yumi kitagishi weeks and matching pencil board, as well as the 2025 weekly accessory and a lavender pilot kakuno with an extra fine nib

after much deliberation, i decided to keep it simple with only one omnibus 2025 planner. i was originally going to get two—one work and one personal, but knowing how utilitarian i am with planners, i was probably going to end up abandoning one. i do plan on using the 2025 weekly accessory exclusively for work, specifically tracking my hours and time blocking everyday

one of my planner goals in 2025 is to treat my planner as more than just a receptacle for to-do lists and appointments. thus, i decided to start an interest log in the back pages. it's basically my modification of a commonplace journal. but instead of doing a deep dive on one topic, i just want to keep track of things that have caught my interest (e.g., fashion show, poem, author, book, song...) and write down a short blurb or excerpt. the goal is to later return to them and do a deeper dive :)))
