Nox in the main story has been tied to the theme of trust and recently, loyalty, which if you think about it, trust and loyalty are two values that are connected to each other. Throughout the main story, it is heavily implied that Nox has been used by someone to the point he has developed trust issues that make it hard for him to be vulnerable around others and put his trust in them.

Nox has been warming up to Chase since the beach boys arc, and even in Cinderfella arc he showed subtle signs of kindness by providing guidance to Chase on how to follow the story and letting him know that fairy tale food is safe for him to consume. It is not though until the honour among thieves arc that he expresses his gratitude for the snacks and apologises to Chase for calling him underhanded all this time. Even if Nox was already forming some sort of attachment toward Chase, he still was not trusting him fully (which is understandable). Despite him sleeping in Chase's hoodie the night before returning it, that same night he went through what he thought was Chase's notebook in order to conclude whether Chase was actually trustworthy or not. It is not until the Requiem of the blood arc that he shows his trust toward Chase and it is in the same arc that he gets hurt after deciding to start opening up his heart to someone. Despite him being hurt by Chase's actions, we see that he was thinking of giving him the benefit of the doubt and he stayed with him in the damaged book until the end, showcasing his loyal nature, but even after all that, he still has not revealed his name to Chase, which could be the ultimate sign of trust that Nox can offer since it provides crucial info about him and his circumstances.

The reveal in the hiatus of his habit of putting others first and the fact that he is the protector of loyalty not only reinforce my theory that he was betrayed by someone close to him,but is also on par with his traits in the main story, where he displays his caring nature by not running away from a dangerous situation and actually staying to help someone he has come to care about, even if he is not ready to fully trust Chase yet. It is interesting though, that despite Nox's self-sacrificing tendencies and his kind and loyal nature, the first time Chase asks him to help someone else, he is confused as to why he should do that. At first, it might look like the concept of helping someone is foreign to him and can't quite grasp it,yet in that arc he had been following Chase around to make sure he is okay as if it was second nature to him. This leads me to believe that the idea of helping others might not have been confusing, but it rather was tied to a bad experience that involved helping someone out and resulting in something bad.

As I have suggested in other posts, taking his name into consideration and how unique it sounds,it is possible that someone took him in with the objective to use him later and gave him the name ''Nox'' cause he was always supposed to replace a key, unless he has forgotten his human name. However, his self-sacrificing tendencies also hint on that he might have tried to protect someone and that is how he ended up in the situation he is. What if someone else was supposed to be turned into a key and Nox took their place and got stabbed in the back by that person, leaving him alone to this fate? I am gonna get repetitive, but in the official art featuring Nox, where one of the cookies is in a perfect shape while the other is broken, feels like it symbolises his broken trust caused by the betrayal he experienced, he lent a hand only to lose an arm, and his cup is empty because he sacrificed so much,that now he himself is empty, while the person who most likely betrayed him did not suffer any damage. It is clear that whatever happened to him, left a deep scar within him.

This theory about Nox kind of reminds me of Meg from the Disney movie ''Hercules''. I think their circumstances might be similar. She tried to save her lover by selling her soul to Hades only to be left behind,just like Nox could have tried to protect someone by sacrificing himself, only to be abandoned. Then Meg uses Hercules to earn her freedom, just like Nox might be using Chase by possibly stealing his narratonin to turn human again.However, Meg ended up falling in love and self-sacrificing once again, only that this time her loyalty got returned and she was saved. Nox has fallen in love too and we have seen him putting himself in danger by staying in the damaged book to help Chase, and I can see him doing something similar again in the future if it is for Chase,only this time, instead of being betrayed,his sense of loyalty and commitment will be returned because this time it is Chase.

Firefly takes off her shoes before seeing you lounged up at the couch, watching some sort of show to pass the time.

Making her way to the living room, she sees your sleeping figure with a little bit of drool escaping your mouth.

She crouches down, wiping it off with the sleeve of her shirt before turning off the TV.

"Chicken..."

"Ahaha... looks like you're having a nice dream there... but now that you've brought it up..."

Standing up she heads to the Kitchen, opening the Freezer.

"There you are!"

She grabs the raw, frozen chicken, taking off the plastic wrap as she places it on the cutting board.

"Now where's the- oh..."

With the noticeable open space in the middle of the counter, one would wonder...

Where the hell did the Stove go?

Flashback:

"Forgive me, Your Majesty."

Wearing just the headgear of her armor and holding both an air freshener and lighter, Firefly rained hellfire.

Though it doesn't goes as planned...

"Stay... still...!"

The fly swiftly maneuvered the incoming fire as it buzzed around around the Kitchen.

It soon stood still at the frying pan above the stove, its legs stuck from the grease unfortunately.

"Now I've got you in my sights..."

Ditching the air freshener, Firefly grabbed the knife next to her, eyes full of concentration as she pulls back her arm...

"I brought Oak Cake Rolls!"

"Eek!"

Startled, she immediately throws the knife towards the pan in blinding speeds not even the poor fly could comprehend.

A sweat rolls down her forehead afterwards.

Good news? The Fly is gone!

"MY STOVE!"

"Mistakes happen, Firefly... mistakes... happen..."

She looks at the empty spot with a frown before clasping her hands together.

"Hmm... maybe that would work?"

She heads back to the Living Room, passing by your sleeping figure as she looks up at the suit of armor just proudly being put up for display.

It was actually your suggestion since you used to collect those little action figures... what were they called? Ka... kame... whatever, she thought that that was just... so cute.

Grabbing one of its arms she slides it in her right arm, getting a feel of it as she heads back to the kitchen. Shortly after that she thoroughly washes the chicken before placing it on a tray in middle of the kitchen.

"Here goes nothing..."

Taking a couple steps back, Firefly extends her arm out, fire emitting from the palm of her hand as it spews out like a flamethrower, gently roasting the chicken.

She walks around, making sure all sides of it are roasted before deactivating the arm.

"Phew..."

She gently grabs the tray with the help of her robotic arm, using her left hand to grab a plate as she sets it down.

Placing the tray by the sink she opens the rice cooker, steam erupting out of it as she blows it away.

"Aw... one step ahead, huh?"

Thankfully, she didn't to cook anymore since you already did it beforehand, how thoughtful of you.

"Now... time for our main guest..."

Taking off the arm she heads her way to the couch, raising your head so it can lay on her lap.

She fiddles with your hair, ruffling it up as your eyes flutter open.

"Mmh..."

You look up at the smiling face of your girlfriend, raising your hand as she brings it up to her cheek.

"Missed me?"

"Very..."

A moment of silence ensued, the both of you lovingly looking at each other.

"I made... rice before I slept."

"Mhm! Good job...!"

A smile crept to your face when she said that.

"And since you kept muttering about chicken I... I made some!"

You sit up, sniffling the air as you face towards the Kitchen.

I started writing fics in 2012 when I was about 13! It... was a Jason Mraz fanfic... That I wrote in NOTEPAD (The horror) on my old laptop with a Winchester brothers wallpaper... Yeah, it never saw the light but it was like 10,000+ words for sure. I didn't write much until 2018ish when I was obsessed with Trevor Philips and GTA V! I started and never finished a fic called Pitiful Failures and it kicked off me writing a few more over the years. But then... I found Monk and Red Dead in these past 5ish months and I fell right into it, found a passion for writing erotica, comedy, and dialogue and I've not looked back since!! <33

🧐 Do you spend much time researching your stories?

Hell yeah! Quite a bit of my writing time is researching things such as "Did this word exist in 1899?" "What did children drink in the Old West?" (The answer is mostly milk and then watered down alcohols) "What Tom Waits album came out in 2002?". I loveeee a bit of research, I've spent hours researching 19th century women's outfits and the many layers that make them up. If a question pops into my head while writing, I'll spend a little while looking it up :]

😬 Which of your fics would you be most horrified for friends, family, or coworkers to stumble upon?

Hmm, to be honest, I'm not that squeamish with people discovering my work because I'm so proud of it and enjoy making it so much! Plus, I think sexuality and erotica should be a bit more normalised and embraced - It's an art form. The cringe would more so come from if they were horrified by it than merely the fact of them reading as I'm so open!

When it comes to cultures I don't have authority to speak on it, as I'm not a part of that said culture. But I also have my own culture and religion so whenever some caricatures try to silence people of that culture who are trying to speak out about it, I would get pissed too. But one thing I can speak on is regarding skin diversity as I am of a person of color myself. Whitewashing especially really makes me angry because why is it that hard to remain true to the original skin color huh? Artists who don't have much resources as a big company such as hoyoverse, I've seen better redesigns than any of the atrocities of natlan characters. And also why only the proper representation is the enemies or even npcs hmm?? Are you trying to tell us something? Bro the brown playable characters are literally so much whiter than me 😭

Fun fact, I continued playing genshin because of kaeya (I fell in love with his character and story) but just to be set aside the whole time despite having such an important backstory. The reason I'm even motivated to play genshin is expecting more from his character but hoyo said ✨noh✨ a lot of people pointed this out; why is it only the brown playable characters have shitty kits or not that good meta wise 🧐

Hoyoverse.. you are catering to a global audience, is it that hard to respect people's cultures that you took inspiration from? I'm telling you, at this moment you'll lose a lot of players and don't think just because you have other games that you'll be fine. Because I can see a pattern from when even before genshin was released this was not a new thing. I'm 100% sure you'll do the same with other games. Hmm. This is not one of my more widely-read fics, for understandable reasons, but I’m a little surprised the implications of THIS passage tend to go unremarked on in For A Gentleman, Ten Years Is Not Too Long:

Nie Huaisang closed his eyes. “Oh, poor Er-ge. He really was lost in his own mind, then, wasn’t he?” he said softly. “You should…tell Hanguang-jun that his brother can be buried wherever he’d like. It won’t make any difference to Da-ge.”

“Why’s that?” Wei Wuxian inquired, and dropped casually back into his seat.

Nie Huaisang opened his eyes, and felt the crushing grief anew, a heaviness all over him, as he always did whenever he was forced to acknowledge this fact. “Da-ge’s spirit was obliterated in Guanyin Temple.”

“What?” Wei Wuxian blinked. “What? How? When? Chifeng-zun—he was only bound into his coffin! He was suppressed, not liberated, it’s true—but his spirit was not, should not have been destroyed!”

But uh. I didn’t think THAT part was particularly subtle!)

“Oh my god.”

Cathrine tried to hide behind her hands as she watched Thoma guide the small army of delivery men into the cathedral.

She was preparing to go to Frostheim when Thoma knocked on her door, painfully grinning at her in a way only those in service of others know how to as he presented the first rose to Cathrine.

She thought it was a sweet gesture…until another 99 were handed to her by the delivery men as gifts and lab equipment were piled into the cathedral.

“Aren’t you in awe of our King’s devotion to you? How lucky…🧐”

Thoma sarcastically drawled as he stood next to her, eyeing the small black gift bag in her hand.

The main reason for her visit to Frostheim.

And…

Her excuse to leave before she drowns in sweetness.

“I thought I was meant to give the gift for Valentine’s Day?”

Thoma huffed out a laugh as he swiftly guided Cathrine out the door, smoothly handing her an umbrella before starting to close her own door on her.

“Hmm I think you’re right, how about you deliver your valentines whilst I organise this mess.”

She wasn’t sure if he was referring to her messy makeshift lab upstairs or the array of gifts, either way she’s glad to escape the overwhelming display.

She was appreciative but never in her life has someone showered her in gifts like that….

She wasn’t so sure what to do about that realisation.

She abruptly pushed the gift bag into Jin’s chest, looking away from him as a slight blush formed on her cheeks, she clicked her tongue as embarrassment flooded her, Jin didn’t say anything-he only cautiously grabbed the bag, balancing a cigarette between his cheeks before pulling out a cute light blue box of chocolate cigarettes, she finally looked up, peeking to check his reaction.

Cathrine rolled her shoulders and took a deep breath, grinning as she looked up at him. She cheekily took the cigarette from his mouth taking an inhale as he huffed out a laugh as he replaced the stolen one with her chocolate.

“It’s mint flavoured…it’s uh got special properties so it’s meant to help with sleeping cause I know you struggle but also omg oh wait thank you so much for the gifts?!? You know how to make a girl feel spe-“

Her awkward ramble got cut off as Jin leaned forward, his gaze strangely warm as he brushed a thumb across her lip. Cathrine stared at him wide eyed as he leaned closer, pressing the chocolate to her lips as his cold breath fanned across her face, she nervously nibbled at the chocolate. Seeming to satisfy whatever need Jin had as he smirked down at her eating the rest of the chocolate.

“Tastes good Cathrine, thanks.”

He licked his lips as he took his cigarette back from her, the embers burnt down to the nub as it had laid forgotten in her hands due to Jin’s previous actions.

He pulled her into the room, dragging Cathrine to the sofa as he flicked his cigarette into the ashtray, pulling a slightly dazed Cathrine onto the sofa as he started unravelling the other small box. It had been hidden under the chocolates and Cathrine started to feel nervous of seeing his reactions.

In the small blue velvet box was a pair of lapis lazuli cuff links, they glittered as the light caught them, Jin held them high to admire the items.

“Do you…like them??”

She quietly asked as she watched Jin delicately put them back, he started fiddling with the ones he currently had on, taking them off as he tossed them onto the table.

“Put them on for me.”

Cathrine blinked at him in surprise, taking this as answer to her question…she gently took his wrists, resting them on her lap as she started placing the cuff links in. She purposefully took her time, leaning more into Jin as the other silently watched her, smirking to himself enjoying the way she was solely concentrating on him.

“The chef’s making your favourite, stay for dinner.”

He practically purred into her ear, grabbing onto her hand as she completed her task. She admired the cuff links as she slinked onto Jin’s lap, grinning mischievously at the white haired man as she pressed a kiss to his knuckles and then another just above where the cuff links were.

“Well if you’re letting me stay I’m guessing you like it~”

She wrapped her arms around his neck pressing another kiss to his cheek as Jin wrapped his own arms around her, flopping onto his back as he pulled Cathrine down with him, allowing her to snuggle into him as he pulled out another chocolate cigarette. She gave him another peck against his pulse, looking up at him through her eyelashes…

“Happy Valentine’s Day Jin~🌚🖤”

(She stayed the night 👀😈but only due to the fact the floor caved in at the cathedral, causing Jin to actually get some repairs done; they both actually devoured their meal and then passed tf out)

“Ha! Well everyone always praises me for my good looks~ it’s not like they’re serious confessions <3”

Rui half smiled as he added another box of chocolates to the stack, it was the 17th person to confess in the past hour, Cathrine was starting to get concerned about Romeo and Haru who had started a game at the beggining of the night…to take a shot every time someone handed a valentines chocolate to Rui.

The duo beginning to sway and lean against eachother as Haru’s hiccups seemed to break through the noise of the lively and chatty bar. Cathrine was fine though…yep 100 percent fine, as her flushed face was barely able to hold itself up, the room spinning as she laid her head against the bar, the cool wood seeming to help with the overheating.

“Rui….youre the prettiest In both body AND soul ~pretty prettyyyyyy boy🖤🌞”

Cathrine murmured out, giggling as she glanced up at Rui through her eyelashes. Ruby red eyes meeting his pale ones as his own face flushed, though it wasn’t because of the alcohol…

“Why are you so cute Catty~”

Rui cooed at the girl, accidentally ignoring another person attempting to gift a box of chocolates to him.

“Romi~I think Rui’s fan-girl are trying to kill usss.”

Haru whined out, snuggling into Romeo’s shoulder almost falling off the bar stool if it wasn’t for Romeo wrapping an arm around him, holding the red drunkard up.

“Agreed these BB are too much, aren’t you closing soon Mizi?”

Romeo groaned out as he managed to swallow down another shot, taking a deep breath as he tried to make the room stop swaying.

“Think of Cat’s hea-“

The paper wrapper of a straw shot into Romeo’s eye before he could finish his sentence. Causing him to shriek as he glared at a proud looking Cathrine.

“WTF YOU ARGH”

She shot another one into his mouth, grinning as Romeo choked on the wrapper.

“STFU PLS” 😋

Cathrine proclaimed, smiling too wide and brightly as Romeo shrieked at her, Rui just bellowed with laughter as he swiftly snatched away the cup holding the rest of the straws from Cathrine. Haru was passed out on Romeo’s shoulder anchoring the amethyst eyed man to his seat as Cathrine mockingly poked her tongue out at him.

“Hahaha, guys I’m closing in half an hour…so RoeRoe maybe try getting Haru home or you two can stay in the dorm!!! Catty’s staying anyway aren’t you cutie~”

This time Rui blew the wrapper at Cathrine’s head, instead of getting mad Cathrine’s eyes seemed to sparkle even more as she looked at Rui in complete adoration.

“Yeppers~ anywhere you go I go <3”

Cathrine giggled as Rui flushed a deep red, cackling at her bold response. Romeo tried to fake gag at their flirting but it nearly turned into a real gag causing him to pale significantly, Rui started hurriedly kicking out the other patrons deciding that maybe it’s time to speed up the close.

“Catty come on one step in front of the other~”

They were lagging behind Haru and Romeo, who were being guided by Lyca…who Rui had to call to assist him to get the trio back to the dorms.

Cathrine stumbled as she made her way with Rui, smoking her cigarette as she followed Rui’s guiding hand.

“Have…something for you.”

Cathrine huffed out, stopping and leaning against a tree as she started searching through her bag.

“Hahaha, Catty can it wait? We’re almost there~”

Cathrine brought out a shiny purple box, one she had out when she first entered the bar but immediately hid when she saw the numerous other gifts Rui had received for Valentine’s Day…

“Take it.”

She held it out, waiting patiently as Rui stared at her in surprise. He awkwardly took the box, running a gloved hand over the wrapping before tearing it off, revealing an adorable box of chocolates.

All shaped like bunnies and all filled with his favourite flavours.

“Wow! This is totes cute, lemme get a pic~ where’d you even get this?!”

Rui started taking numerous pictures of the adorable gift, his eyes gleaming as he tried to decide what to eat first.

“I made them…”

Cathrine’s face was tomato red as she admitted it, rubbing her arm awkwardly as she turned away to begin walking to the dorm again, leaving Rui in surprise.

He quickly grabbed a caramel flavoured one, pausing as he realised there was a small note underneath.

‘Your intelligence 🖤’

He blinked in surprise glancing between the chocolates and Cathrine, before lifting the other chocolates, they all had notes underneath them, each noting something Cathrine loved about Rui.

Underneath the plastic tray was a bigger note, a nervously written love confession, Cathrine’s emotions poured out on a page as Rui tried to hold back the tears, hands shaking as he searched for Cathrine, holding the box of chocolate and notes close to his heart as he ran after her.

But she was already gone…

Gone and passed out in Rui’s bed, wearing one of his jumpers as she snuggled into his pillow.

“Hah Cat…You’re really something else.”

He slumped on the ground next to the bed, watching the adorkable pink haired girl currently crashed out in his bed.

Rui remained next to the bed for the rest of the night, waiting for Cathrine to wake up, which she did in the early morning, rapidly blinking away sleep as she shot rui a surprised but nervous smile. Rui smirked as he pressed a kiss to her letter, Cathrine hiding her face in the pillow as Rui chuckled at her dramatics.

“Morning my valentines 💌 “

(Rui had a smile on his face all day and Cathrine hid away also smiling but insanely embarrassed, she wasn’t going to give him the gift due to the fact he had so many and she got self conscious 🫣😟 but drunk her had his words playing on her mind and she couldn’t let Rui go)

Cathrine bellowed from the middle of the jabberwock reserve, disturbing the many couples that were for the cute Valentine’s Day tour that Haru had set up.

They were so busy they didn’t have time to answer their phones causing Cathrine to resort to extreme methods in order to finally deliver her gift.

She folded her arms as she waited, trying not to squish the large bouquet of flowers as she awaited for Towa to come. She was tapping her foot impatiently as Haru had banned her from smoking causing Cathrine to twitch in annoyance as she drummed her fingers against her arm.

“ 🎵 🎶 🎶….”

A lovely song wrapped around her as Towa spun her around to face him, she sheepishly held up the flowers to him, she had made sure to pick his favourites but as he scrutinised them she was starting to get nervous, his hands didn’t leave her waist as he hummed thoughtfully at the gift. Towa looked around at all the other couples, seeing the gifts that they had all given eachother and grinned in a sense of weird superiority, he lifted Cathrine up and jumped high in the sky, causing her to let out a nervous laugh.

“ 🎶 🎵 🎵 🎵 🎶 🎶!!!!!!!!!!”

He landed near the huge tree on the hill, gently placing Cathrine down as she let out a dizzy giggle, he pressed a kiss to her cheek before taking the bouquet from her placing it securely under the tree before grabbing Cathrine again and flopping onto the ground.

“I’m guessing you like them then?”

Towa nodded, pulling Cathrine on top of him causing the girl to let out a slight shriek, he hummed happily as she snuggled into him, sighing in content as she softly brushed a hand through Towa’s hair.

The sun was setting and Cathrine’s warm eyes met his as she grinned and sneakily kissed the corner of his mouth.

“Happy valentines-“

Before she could finish Towa flipped them over, pinning Cathrine’s arms to the ground, he was pouting slightly as he leaned down.

Cathrine showed the anomaly the grappling hook attachment causing the bike to rev her engine happily. Cathrine giggled petting the bike as she gracefully attached the item to her, letting Bonny infuse it to her system.

“Pffft, I thought the mad scientist was here for you~ not to give your bike a valentines gift.”

Leo and Sho had been watching her from a distance, Sho busily preparing and serving customers at the truck and Leo who had been accepting all the gifts given to him and Sho, piling them up next to the truck as he gleefully watched Cathrine work.

Cathrine who has practically spent the whole day with Bonny giving her numerous upgrades and accessories, it was like a mini spa for the bike which Sho happily allowed Cathrine to do for her.

“Shut up, you’re just jealous I’m winning at the moment, what’s it now? 87 for me and 82 for you? Hah”

Leo rolled his eyes and popped a chocolate in his mouth, grimacing at the too sweet of a taste.

Cathrine didn’t leave until the truck closed, waiting for the last customer to go before approaching the truck.

“Yo~ Bonny’s all sorted and seems happy with the tune up, thanks for letting me hang here today sorry for the noise aha, oh these are for you by the way.”

She handed a surprised Sho a box of chocolates and a small flame thrower, Leo almost spat out his drink as she did it so smoothly, she winked at the blushing Sho and waved a goodbye, not wanting to get bike grease on him as she tried to walk away.

Only for Sho to grab her hand, smirking down at her as he cocked his head.

“Oh? Where you going senpai? It’s rude to leave after a valentines confession and I’ve made dinner for you? Aren’t you going to stay?”

His use of puppy eyes disgusted Leo but caused the attempting to be cool Cathrine to flare up in a deep blush as she silently nodded, being spun around and pushed towards the truck by a cheekily grinning Sho.

(They ate and Sho turned the tables, teasing Cathrine and reducing her to an awkward flustered state as he arranged a date for the two of them, Leo was grossed out and left almost immediately but also still spied on them like a creep.)

Cathrine cheerfully entered Romeo’s office, ignoring his icy glare as she placed the small box onto his desk. Casually sitting down as she started pulling out her own paperwork from her bag and silently joined Romeo.

It took twenty minutes before he sighed, looking up from his paperwork in annoyance as he watched her dutifully do her own.

“WTH are you DH MS?”

Romeo seethed out quietly, he was aggravated today and didn’t want to be particularly bothered, those his Lackys who kept coming in to announce the amount his Valentines gifts increase were slightly cheering him up.

“It’s Valentine’s Day Romi~”

He scoffed as he leaned his cheek on the palm of his hand.

“IK that moron, so why are you here?”

He took a deep breath as those determined sparkling rubies met his gaze.

“I got you a gift bellissimo ~”

Her accent slightly coming out as she nudged the box closer to him.

He raised an eyebrow trying not to smile at the familiar sound of her voice as he snatched the box, opening it up before pausing and looking back at her mouth agape.

It was rare Victorian mourning ring, it was pure gold with black floral details and numerous jewels intricately encrusted into it, a pearl sat prettily as the main event, shining in the light as Romeo’s eyes took in the sight of this dazzling item.

“We have twelve more assessments to do of the specimen and then we’ll be done ahahhahahahahahahahhah”

Yuri was slightly losing it as the third all nighter begun to suffocate his brain, the trio was given a surprise anomaly parade for them to autopsy and dissect, it seems vagastrom and sinostra had too much fun on some of the missions they were sent on leaving a trail of bloody messes for them to chase up.

“We can do it! We can we have 12 more, easy that’s like reciting all the zodiac and pi one after another~”

Cathrine wasn’t very lucid herself and she couldn’t help but be slightly suspicious of Jiro who silently stirred their cups of tea as Cathrine and Yuri lost their minds. She decided it must be paranoia from a lack of sleep but what’s paranoia but a healthy dose of keeping vigilant.

Yuri and Cathrine gratefully took their teas, downing them unceremoniously as Jiro silently watched them. Cathrine, chalked it up to being a new blend…but as the room started to spin around her she realised far too late that the bastard had drugged her and Yuri.

When she awoke she was cocooned in a sea of blankets on the gurney bed. Yuri was next to her and the two wiggled out of their comfy cages in tandem, shooting up as their eyes landed on Jiro simultaneously.

“YOU-“

“JIRO-“

They shouted in unison, Jiro calmly turning around to face them a scalpel in hand.

“It’s not productive to carry on with no sleep. It was the only logical thing to do, it was my gift to you…”

Yuri shrieked though Cathrine couldn’t make out what he was particularly saying as he unloaded on Jiro who stood particularly placid. Jiro handed them each a water bottle, one bright pink with prehistoric fossils engraved onto them and a big pink bow, Yuri had a matching one in light blue with the same pattern.

They sipped at their water looking at Jiro questioningly, before the bell went off in Cathrine’s head, she grabbed her phone checking the date and seeing FEBRUARY 14th in big letters.

“It’s customary to give your partners gifts on Valentine’s Day, I thought rest and these would be a good choice.”

Cathrine grinned pulling Jiro down and giving him a sweet peck on the cheek. Whilst Yuri sat dumbfounded looking at the two of them like they’re a new species (in Cathrine’s case maybe so.)

“Partners…?”

Yuri voice came out cracked as he glanced wide eyed between the two.

“We work together, sleep together, eat together and get intimate-“

Cathrine could see jiro’s smirk as he leaned over Yuri who blushed a bright red as he covered Jiro’s mouth.

“Understood.”

Jiro hummed in thought leaning more into Yuri as he laced his fingers with Cathrine’s.

“Do you?”

Yuri nodded exacerbated, Cathrine detached herself from Jiro and went to grab her bag, feeling groggy and discombobulated from the sleep as she grabbed one purple wrapped gift and a blue one. Handing it over to the two as she pressed a kiss to Yuri’s cheek as she slid the boxes into their hands.

“Hahah I almost forgot! Happy valentines~”

Jiro carefully unwrapped his first, his eyes slightly widening as a small smile formed, he showed Yuri and Cathrine before turning back to face him as he gazed at the dinosaur tooth.

It was a Carcharodontosaurus tooth, Zenji had luckily informed her that was one of Jiro’s favourites.

Yuri then unwrapped his revealing a piece of Meteor carefully protected in a dome.

“You…I didn’t get you two anything.”

Yuri guiltily but cutely wrapped his arms around the meteor and cup.

Jiro laughed warmly looking down at Yuri as he brushed a strand of hair out of Yuri’s eyes.

“There’s always white day aha~”

Cathrine cheerfully announced delicately holding her water bottle as snuggled closely to the two of them.

“Yes there is…also we still have five specimens left.”

The groan emitting from the three as they turned to look at the bodies laying on the gurneys was loud enough to break the sound barrier as the fragile dizzy atmosphere was broken by the reality of work.

(They worked all day~ after putting Jiro to bed when they realised they’ve been asleep for nearly a whole day which is why Cathrine was surprised at the date change.)

"Hey princess, I didn't keep you waiting did I?"

Haku jogged over to Cathrine as she leaned against the wall, excitedly waving over the green haired man as she snubbed out her cigarette.

They 'accidentally' ended up weating matching outfits, cathrine in a lime green pleated skirt and oversized white jumper and Haku in green jeans and a white dress shirt, the only difference being Cathrine's green leather jacket and Haku's long black coat. She narrowed her eyes at his outfit, realising the real reason he asked for pics of her fit.

"I just got here! no worries, like you outfit, you look good."

As Haku caught up to her he gracefully took her hand, frowning at the obvious lie she told as her freezing cold hand clasped with his. She must've of been waiting for a while...

He shook his head as he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, pressing a quick kiss to her forhead before leading her to the train, the two had finally got their R&R approved, luckily it got approved for valentine's day, or maybe luck didn't have much to do with it and more so Cathrine threatening to blow up the cathedral again.

"Oh! this is for you too..."

Cathrine shyly handed the sleek black gift bag, the box inside had the stamp of their favourite thrift shop.

"Catty, you didn't have to do this angel-"

He opened the box eyes widening at the brown world map watch that was revealed, it had a thick dark brown strap with gold metallic attachments and the clock itself was made to be like an old world map. He was looking at it last time they went to the shop, but already had an overflowing basket so couldn't allow himself to spend anymore...

"You-"

He wrapped his arms tightly around her and glomped onto her, rocking them back and forth as Cathrine giggled. They stayed like this for a while shimmying slowly onto the train as Haku latched on her, Cathrine hiding her face into his chest as she become overwhelmed with adoration.

"Thank you princess..."

He cupped her face littering her face with kisses as her warmed cheeks flushed even more. Haku sighed unsure if he should drag her back to the cathedral to show her just how thankful he is or to continue the date, the fact they couldnt get this r&r request was the only thing in the back of his mind that was stopping him from doing the first thing.

"Will you put it on me when we get on the train baby? can you do it for me please?"

He was whispering pleadingly into her ear, grinning as she shivered, Cathrine wrapped her arms around Haku's neck, looking at him in pure adoration as his eyes narrowed down at her, a teasing smirk on his face as he rest his arms around her waist.

"If we get on the train, you don't seem to wanna go huh?"

She giggled as she lightly brushed her lips against his own, leaning in again to kiss him once more...and then again and...again, Haku smiling into the kiss as he pushed her up against the train.

"We should go, we might..hmm, miss our reservation."

Cathrine hummed in agreement though neither of them moved, it seemed the cat conductor had enough and honked the train's horn loudly, startling the two as they pulled away with a fright at the angry cat before meeting eachother's gaze and falling into a fit of giggle.

"Come lets go!"

Cathrine gently took Haku's hand and lead him onto the train, the two bowing apologetically to the cat before cuddling up on the train seats...

Cathrine placed the watch on Haku, pressing a kiss to his knuckles as she did so.

"Happy Valentines day my love."

(They go to the fancy restruant-then to the aquarium where they each bought a cute teddy for the other and then for a late night drink and sneaky trip to a 24/7 thrift shop before hurrying home in time for curfew, Haku stays the night and Subaru has to send Zenji to retrieve Haku when he doesn't come back, poor Zenji's eyes can never recover.)

Athena working by herself?? Aww, I like Apollo as a support for Athena though haha. Mr Whet is an interesting character.. Lmao at Nahyuta calling her a putrid egg yolk, she got demoted from spring chick😂 I knew Blackquill was going to be a witness when he said he frequented the soba shop but loll poor Athena is shocked. It's quite sweet how endearing Blackquill acts towards Athena now. He still teases her but genuinely looks out for her and that's sweet. It's so funny how Athena and Nahyuta keep calling Blackquill back to the witness stand every time Geiru says something they want to confirm😂 I was so happy when Blackquill stood up for Athena and helped her when Nahyuta was trying to control the tide of things by calling on her inexperience. Lmao at Nahyuta saying Blackquill will be reborn as a reverse panda in his next life for helping the defence and Athena's like he'll be fine because he's already used to looking like a panda in this life😂😂 LOL Uendo has fans in his hair as hairpins and they open😂

I have to say, all these guys at the soba shop are so weird, I don't know how Blackquill gets along with them😂 I honestly wonder if Shisho died because he choked on a bun honestly lol. I don't think anyone killed him though🧐 Anyway, I'm happy Blackquill is satisfied with "Sad Monk's" indignant look😂 I guess the thing I'm starting to understand and not particularly like about Nahyuta is that in terms of the theme of the game, he doesn't seem to pursue the truth and is more focused on "winning" whether that means wanting witnesses like Geiru to keep silent etc. Hmm I'm not sure if people with dissociative identity disorder can change personalities whenever they want and instantly but I guess I'll roll with it😆 I loveee how Blackquill slashed Nahyuta's beads when he tried to attack Athena again. Such a great man🥲🥲 I am impressed that Nahyuta remembered the whole Time Soba routine though, that's pretty impressive since you can imagine that he probably knows the others as well, he really thoroughly does his research.

Btw I love Uendo spitting out his tea, it's such a funny animation hahaha! LMAO at Athena and the judge making Blackquill get them the alcoholic manju and sake😂 The more amazing thing would probably be Taka being able to carry all that😂 Lmao, first they got to eat manju, now they're eating soba😂 I love how Blackquill's slash revealed the bandage on Geiru's forehead, he really saves the day here haha! I feel like it was such a silly reason for Geiru to kill Shisho when she could have just talked to him or asked him why. I also feel bad for the dog that ate those bloody dumplings! Anyway, case was average, but Athena and Blackquill were a really fun pair! I really enjoyed how Blackquill pushed her but never really babied her, he only helped her when she needed it, and only bailed her out when she really had no clues. He's great for her learning and I love how he teased her but also supported her. Him slashing the beads to protect Athena was the best moment and really shows how protective he still is of her, and how much he wants to be there to help her grow as a lawyer and as a person. So yeah, honestly, even though the case was pretty forgetful and average, I definitely enjoyed how fun it was to watch them so happily talk to each other and eat soba together! Now maybe they can all quit the salty Eldoon Noodles that will kill them with all that salt and actually go to a good soba place😂

Episode 5 - Turnabout Revolution

Anyway, I really wonder how far away Khura'in is because how did Nahyuta go from Maya's trial back for the soba trial in like a matter of days to a week?? I didn't expect Dhurke to appear in the agency but I guess there's gotta be a reason for Apollo to go to Khura'in I guess? Lmao that Dhurke had a cactus in his hideout called Apollo😂 Ohh wow, Datz has been around since Apollo was around! It's so cute how Trucy calls Dhurke dad hahahha, I mean despite how random Dhurke was to appear here, it was nice of him to appear with sushi haha! I'm happy to finally see Apollo's father but didn't think he was a wandering minstrel, is that why Thalassa left him? Anyway, I'm curious about the timeline of logistics of things because Apollo should be 23-24 right now, his father died 23 years ago, so he died when he was just a baby, but how did Thalassa give birth to Apollo, divorce and somehow pass him off and then basically go no contact and then give birth to Trucy? How did Apollo even end up coming here and leaving Khura'in anyway?

LOL when Dhurke told Ema he does volunteer work in Khura'in to make it a better place, it was even funnier when Trucy said he's Nahyuta's father and Ema felt bad for him😂 I feel bad for Dr Buff if he really died from falling down the ladder after causing an avalanche from his books but I'm not sure about that yet. OMG is the Founder's Orb the "AMI" urn thing?!?! I never expected to see that again, I don't really remember anything about it besides the look of it🥲 I never thought about it but Datz is right that Apollo's "horns" grew up with him hahahahha. Poor kid lost his father and mother, especially his mother who sacrificed her life to protect him. The drone having a "moustache" is hilarious, but I love how the kid is talking to Apollo through the drone. Hmm, so Apollo's father died from an arson and Thalassa disappeared after🧐 It was pretty silly of Dhurke and Apollo to go cave exploring without any equipment and preparation so they should be glad they're alive and actually made it to find the Founder's Orb. I have to admit that I had no clue about the pictures so I had to cheat hahaha. I do wonder what happened to Nahyuta, especially since he was a Dragon before and wanted to change things from the inside. I can see why Apollo was rather cold when Dhurke first appeared. Dhurke promised to come pick him up but it's been so many years, he lost hope in waiting. Atishon is SO annoying btw. I guess he's like a politician in that respect, with how obnoxious and entitled he is.

Lmao at the judge asking if this is a mock trial since Apollo is facing off against Phoenix😂 Athena being baffled after getting lost and dozing off for the whole day is funny🤣 I'm so glad Atishon got kicked out of his palanquin in court but lmao that he was able to even bring it in. I did not expect Dr Buff to have been so into artifacts to steal them😱 LMAO when Phoenix brought out a statement from an elderly neighbour and Apollo was like can we trust the statement of an old man, and Phoenix is like care to say that to the judge HAHAHA. I felt sorry for Sarge since he's basically breaking down from first losing his mother who died protecting him and then now losing his father. Awww Armie/Sarge is such a cute 12 year old girl! I was so happy for Apollo for not relenting against Phoenix and fighting for his case. Atishon openly threatening Phoenix and basically blackmailing him during court is crazy. I'm so glad Dhurke interjected Apollo trying to retract his accusation because I absolutely agree with Dhurke's belief. Phoenix and Apollo should never have yielded to Atishon regardless of the circumstances because accusing and convicting someone else of murder to protect someone is something you should never do if your beliefs are that the truth is the most important thing. As if Atishon would let Maya go if Phoenix won, he'd just keep using Phoenix and continue blackmailing him forever for doing something like that. I'll agree that it's much more difficult for Phoenix though, because not only is Maya very important to him, but he obviously couldn't find a way to ensure her safety other than this. It felt very satisfying to see Phoenix say he resigns as Atishon's attorney, like yes please asap. Lmao at the banzai breakdown😂 Anyway, Atishon probably would have won if he knew who his boss was because it's most likely the queen and she's a spirit medium after all, unless she's lying🧐

It's sad to finally know that because they couldn't identify Apollo's dad, Lamiroir got separated from them and couldn't find them after all the chaos that ensued from the queen's assassination. I wonder if she ever found out that Apollo's father died.. I mean, she most likely knows now but I wonder about back then.. I can't believe Dhurke had his guys go all the way to Europe to get the photo of Apollo's father because some European tourists just happened to take a photo of him when he was performing. Dhurke's such a fun and chill guy, I love him😂 LOL when Ga'ran just unilaterally decided that Dhurke is guilty ignoring the judge's role. She and her country should definitely appreciate having such crucial evidence. I think it's really sweet how Rayfa isn't hostile towards inconsistencies in her Divination Seance anymore and is instead actively working with Apollo and Phoenix to try and figure out the truth of what happened.

LOL that the laughter Inga heard before he died was from his subordinate's phone who heard Datz laughing at Ahlbi getting scared of firecracker😂😂😂😂 It's pretty wild to think that they channeled Inga and he didn't realise he was dead so he still went to do what he needed to do... That's kinda sad. LOL at Maya getting Inga to get her burgers and a TV to watch the Plumed Punisher when she was a hostage hahahah. I guess she had an easier time than expected😂 Is Nayna Queen Amara?😱 Why couldn't Amara have hid in the sarcophagus after killing Inga? Why is that not a point raised? Okay, Apollo did raise it, but considering how powerful Ga'ran is, I don't see how she wouldn't have been able to sneak her out. But anyway, no evidence I guess hahaha. Couldn't she channel someone and run away? HAHAHA if you choose Amara clung to the ceiling as an answer as to how she disappeared from the tomb, Apollo says she clung to the ceiling like Datz's geckos that he eats😂😂😂😂 I don't understand why she can't channel some other dead person though. OMG, I can't believe Dhurke is already dead... It was hard enough accepting that he was going to die soon but to actually find out he's already dead but just didn't know how to say it to Apollo? I'M SO SAD. I really liked him... I wanted him and Apollo to get more bonding time especially with Nahyuta after this. I'm just so heartbroken right now. It's so sad that Dhurke wanted to see Apollo one last time so he asked Maya to return to the US and channel him. It seems like Amara has been somehow convinced by Ga'ran that Dhurke tried to assassinate her so it's sad that she really does love him and can't hate him even if she believes he tried to kill her.

I didn't see why Amara would kill Inga so I'm glad to see that she still seems to be as kind as she is in the photo and just seems to be forced to do Ga'ran's bidding, probably to protect Nahyuta. It's pretty outrageous for Amara to get shot in court though. It was obvious that Dhurke and Nahyuta were all trying to protect Rayfa but it's still sad to see everyone basically be in control of Ga'ran so that Rayfa would be fine and not condemned to the life of being born to a sinner. Considering that Nahyuta lived that life whether it be on the run with Dhurke or as he crawled his way up to be the revered prosecutor today despite his background, he knows best how difficult of a life this was and how his young naive sister wouldn't be able to survive it. So Nahyuta's glove covered his dragon tattoo all this time🥲 I've always been suspicious about whether Ga'ran can even channel spirits so I'm glad to know she actually can't! It also very cleanly eradicates everything she's passed in terms of laws too since she has no right to be the monarch which is pretty sweet. I'm surprised the Royal Guard only cared about Ga'ran's supposed spiritual power and didn't actually care for her as a person, very interesting because I thought they were just obsessed with her for who she was lol.

I'm glad Apollo decided to stay in Khura'in and help rebuild the legal system with Nahyuta. Dhurke wanted Apollo to take over his law office so I'm glad he did, and Dhurke's wish and goal for so many years was to change the legal system so it's fitting for Apollo to stay and do so. I'm sure Dhurke would have wished for the whole family to bond as well so I think it's a great opportunity for them to all get closer as they help Rayfa become suitable to be queen and change Khura'in for the better. It's sad that Apollo isn't there with Athena and them, but I think it's sweet that Ema would have been in Khura'in for a while haha. It was funny how Apollo is the only lawyer in the country and everyone is giving him clients and going through the backlog of cases, they're gonna be at it forever😂 it's also nice to know that it seems like Lamiroir is ready to tell Trucy and Apollo about their relationship. I've been waiting for it hahaha. Maybe it's time for Athena to shine in the next game assuming we get AA7?🤗

As usual, lmao at the wild life Larry lives😂 HAHAHA, Larry is a picture book author and he wrote Franzy's Whippity-Whip Trip? LMAOO😂😂😂 LOL when the police had the building surrounded all because Larry said he had a bomb😂😂 It's so funny how Athena couldn't take being Trucy's magic assistant anymore and ran away😂 LMAO I was not expecting Ellen to take out a frying pan when Phoenix says he's not sure if he's going to take her case, and then she starts crying into the frying pan hahahahah. I love all her animations, the clanging on the pan is so cute hahahha. LOL I love the animation of her redoing her makeup, it's so good😂😂 Hahahah she has an animation where she moves the frying pan and shakes salt into it as well lmao😂😂 Her ironing animation LOL. This girl has such good animations, I love them all hahhahaha.

Lmao at Maya coming for Larry's wedding😂 Oooo, Edgeworth is the prosecutor! Yay, that should be fun! Sorin looks quite young and quiet lol. I love his animation with the paper aeroplane hahaha. Wow that little mech on Pierce's shoulder fixing stuff animation is cool! It's actually pretty hilarious how Sorin just saying "come home soon" to Ellen is like the sweetest thing ever coming from him😂 It's cute how Ema is a fangirl of Edgeworth and is happy to stand in the same courtroom as him hahaha! Lmao at Larry's "testimony" which are literally just insults to Phoenix😂 Larry really hides everything as usual and then comes up with the craziest stuff haha. Photos of two timelines? Definitely a wild time travel story haha. I was thinking why couldn't they have held two receptions so it's nice that it's brought up. LOL Edgeworth doesn't intend to get married? Lmao at the judge's silence and Edgeworth feels offended for not wanting to get married😂 I definitely enjoyed this special much more than I thought I would. I found Ellen and Sorin very cute and it was so nice to see everyone in a chill atmosphere haha.

Overall, SoJ's cases were definitely a step above DD's because they were so much more interesting and flowed better but I think I actually prefer the feelings that were elicited from me in DD's last case more lol. Surprisingly, my favourite case in this game was the second with Trucy. I usually like the last case the most but I really like Trucy so I guess I'm a bit biased there already haha. But I also loved Retinz and found it ironic that he was so focused on revenge, he killed and used one of the people who truly admired and respected him for his magic, something he should have focused on instead of the feelings of those who are already dead. It was very emotional for Trucy and I enjoyed seeing her growth as well as her bond with Apollo. I think that everything in the case was done really well. Even though the last case was also really good, I had some issues with it that really made it difficult for me to ignore. Dhurke was really great and I loved the reveal near the end because it was heartbreaking as it was touching. However, I really didn't like how things were handled with Phoenix doing Atishon's bidding because of Maya's kidnapping (although I admit going against Phoenix was really cool!) since I feel like even though I understand Maya's life was in danger so he did what he did, it was also uncomfortable because there were many methods he could have undertaken to get out of Atishon's grasp. Anyway, I also didn't like Amara because I didn't understand why she stayed without doing anything, and yes her daughter was a "hostage" but everyone revered her as a queen and I think she had the power to go against her evil sister and prevent Dhurke's death and she could have worked together with Nahyuta to try something instead of having all the citizens suffer with Ga'ran. I also think they wasted Nahyuta and really neglected him in the last case when he was supposed to be just as important to the whole reveal. Not only did Dhurke not have any last words for him, but I think they were so focused on Dhurke and Apollo's relationship that sometimes I forget Nahyuta is his son. He never really got his time to shine nor did he get to turn the table on Ga'ran and free himself like he should have, his appearance was quite minimal and forgettable, which is a waste and saddening. Ga'ran was also disappointing, yeah she was evil but I would have appreciated her having more depth as a character. She wasn't as capable as she seemed and instead was allowed to do whatever she wanted because no one opposed her. But yeah, Dhurke definitely carried that last case imo with how cool he was as a character and as a father to Apollo.

As for the Athena case, I loved Athena and Blackquill especially the latter's support, and I enjoyed how he didn't baby her and guided her only when she really needed help, so she really struggled but came to being a close to independent defence attorney in her own right. But, the udon case itself was boring and I wish she got a better case lol. I enjoyed the first case with Albhi because it was a great introduction to once again remember how unrelenting Phoenix is towards believing in his client and his beliefs (which is why the Maya thing rubbed me the wrong way) and that he is prepared to die for it. I never want to hear those loud speakers and everything with Andistan'dhin ever again though, guy gave me a headache. I know for the third case with Tahrust Inmee, it was showing the flaws of the system and the consequences of it but I found it very saddening that the guy was going to make Maya die for it especially considering how nice they seemed to get along before everything went down. I did enjoy the spirit channelling and stuff though. Anyway, I went on a bit of a tangent but I think the quality of the SoJ cases were pretty good, especially Magical Turnabout but I'm not a big fan of Khura'in sadly and Nahyuta was wasted, but I guess not as much as Klavier in Apollo Justice lol. Despite my grievances though, I still enjoyed the game quite a bit and would rank it the same as DD for me because the positives and negatives are pretty balanced for me hahaha. I think if I had to choose my favourite to least favourite games, it would go in the order of AA3, AA1, AA5, AA6, AA4 and then AA2 according to how I remember feeling about the games lol, which should be taken with a grain of salt because I played the first trilogy when I first bought a Switch and it's now the OLED days hahaha, I really don't remember much about the first three games. But, I will always say that Ace Attorney is a very enjoyable series if you want something silly but with an interesting and fun courtroom playstyle system that is all about finding out the truth. It's got great emotions and I just love how the mystery gets uncovered step by step as you present evidence and as everyone pieces everything together at the same time since everyone is just bluffing their way to the truth hahahaha.
