i wonder if solas' writing truly changed that much between games or i was simply misled & misinterpreting him in my first few inq playthroughs (as i did genuinely warm up to him in my more recent ones). or maybe ive just grown to enjoy people i can beef with more. i still find him insufferable but not in that same old "ughh i can't stand him!!" way, oh wait hold on it might've been very simply that i first played inquisition as a 17 y/o & someone being patronising with me like solas tends to be was the most enraging thing in the entire wide world at the time. But also did i like, completely make up the concept of him wanting elven supremacy to return or was that an actual part of his character bc that was my main gripe with him
