When Louis heads back to his van in the morning, boxer briefs missing and a draft coming through the large hole in the shoulder of his t-shirt, he thinks maybe Harry might be worth sticking around in this town for a little bit longer.

Alright heres a list of all the AUs im working on (Multifandom)

HLVRAI - “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream” AU - Benry wins the final fight and holds the science team captive, toying with them as the minds and backstories of each character slowly unravel, and protagonist Gordon M. Freeman begins to crack under the pressure, coming to terms with guilt and the price of being human.

DHMIS - Human Backstory AU - A disheveled screenwriter with a “difficult” marriage finds joy in caring for their neighbor's child, David, with his husband. But when David's untimely death shakes the whole neighborhood, and Red is offered an interesting opportunity by David's father, everything in his life, and the show he creates, takes a turn.

BATIM - Court of the Wretched King AU - The ink demon has created a small group of followers he’s deemed personally useful to him, as the cycle falls apart after Audreys plot to reinvent the way the studio works proves futile. And with a kingdom in shambles, its subjects in disarray, and an angel posing a threat to every living denizen and the lord that seeks to control them, instability is weaving its way through every silent hall of the wretched studio the lord of the dark puddles calls his domain.

FAC/AT - Fractals AU - uhhhh working on it, something to do with the crown and golb connections as well as more alternate universes for the gang to explore

FNAF - Cassidy/Michael swap AU - Michael Afton, original protagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, end up being the fifth victim of the missing children’s incident instead of Cassidy Chul, and the price of vengeance begins to weigh down on every unfortunate soul that this franchise has gotten its cursed grip on.

HL - Half/Portal swap AU - Chell Freeman braves the deadly halls of black mesa and city seventeen as the combine and mysterious G-Woman pose a threat to all life on earth. While aperture test subject Gordon tries to escape an underground facility while tormented by the past and the malevolent GDoS who seems to know more about Gordon than he does himself.

UT - Aftertale AU- It’s been a year since the monsters escaped the underground and inhabited an abandoned human town and life seems better than ever, but Frisk has begun to hear whispers, old secrets kept buried have begun to be discovered, and doctor Alphys has started to see a familiar figure haunting her in her day to day life.

LTH - Heartbreaker AU - Also still working on it, a character centric AU based on Bennys character and how his experience with the lovely boys took a toll on him

So this is my first tumblr post so I feel I’d introduce myself <3

Hi! I’m orchuris! I hail from ye olde DeviantArt and decided to try tumblr because most of my fandoms are evidently more active here, oops. If I’m received well here, I’ll probably move here mainly and end up using DA as an archive site for comics and stuff.

my main fandoms change very fast, but right now they’re Rainworld, Titanfall 2/Apex, HL/Portal/HLVRAI, and JSaB (new!)

I’ve picked some of my favorite pieces from some of em and they mostly feature my au content! The Titanfall one features my au T2 Roleswap, the vort one is from an au I share with my sibling called Narrators’ Office, the rw one is from my au Angel’s Assistant, and the JSaB one isn’t.. actually au related yet. We’ll see I guess xD

How many works do you have on AO3?

"Only" 21, but I tend to focus on multi-chapter works and collections

2. What's your total AO3 words count?

685,120

However, I must point out that at least a dozen k or so are duplicated, as I slowly fit my event entry chapters into their parent fics. I am tracking my actual word count in an Excel document, but I am a bit behind there as I have not tracked said event entries, just the ones that have been copied into their parent fics.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Primarily the first four generations of the Love Live franchise. I have done a little with Star Trek: Deep Space 9 and Dungeons and Dragons, but both portrayed as TTRPGs being played by the Love Live characters.

At least that is what I have posted on tumblr and AO3.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

How to Handle a Nico: A collection of stories that take place at various points in the lives of Maki and Nico from the School Idol Project generation. There are a few recurring themes that run through things to connect them, but I do try to keep them somewhat able to stand on their own as one-shots or short arcs. It is mostly canon compliant. Other ships in my LL fleet show up from time to time.

Happy Life: Like HtHaN, it is a collection of stories that take place over the course of the focal characters' lives, but this time the main couple is Riko and Yoshiko Yohane from the Sunshine generation. I label this work as an Angelic AU, but I have challenged myself to do so in such a way that it remains canon compliant.

Tri-Arame: Like HtHaN and HL before it, it is a collection of loosely related chapters. This work is also my first foray into writing an OT3 as my flagship for an LL generation, as I was indecisive about which ship to sail as said flagship, so I just put them all together. Thus, Yuu, Ayumu and Setsuna from the Nijigasaki generation are a trio here.

How to Handle a Maki: An RPG styled AU with NicoMaki as the primary pairing. This one was inspired by some wonderful fan art by one of my favorite artists. There's only one chapter so far... one really long chapter... and I've written a few extra things as event entries that I've yet to integrate into the parent fic. But I definitely need to get back to this one soon'ish. I really like the idea.

Promptober-2021: My first time participating in an event in the Idol Fanfic Heaven Discord channel. This collection started my habit of worldbuilding my monster theater AU, Putting on Hairs, in event collections. The AU really lends itself easily to many prompts.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I love responding to comments, and even feel bad if it feels like too much time has passed before I do so. As for why I love responding, it is because it is a way for me to interact with my readers. I also know how much courage it takes to leave a comment, as it is something I myself struggle with, so I want to show my appreciation with a response.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

That really depends on how one defines "ending"...

Taken as a one-shot, The Incident in HtHaN would be pretty angsty. The play, Detective Otosu (name may yet change), in PoH, has an angsty/depressing/downer ending; I wrote other scenes from the play for the same event collection. And many of the characters in my unposted D&D story have pretty angsty endings to their arcs; e.g. one has their spirit/soul trapped in a gem where they remain in a state of semi-consciousness but unable to communicate with the world around them.

That all said, I don't really do much angst. I prefer happy fluff.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, this depends on how one defines ending. I focus on collections or anthologies that will likely be added to as long as I retain interest in doing so. As such, were I to choose specific entries in these collections, I would say that the chapters where the primary pairing or trio finally gets together would be the happiest. These chapters are Morning in HtHaN, the Revelations arc of HL, and Change Overnight in TA.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

While I would hesitate to outright call it hate, I definitely reached a point of utter frustration with a thread of comments that I decided it best to delete them. A graveyard of (Previous comment deleted) tombstones remains on a chapter of HtHaN, forever reminding me of the fated exchange, and that I apparently deleted them in the wrong order, according to the FAQ of AO3.

That said I have received more hate via direct message on various social media platforms for having the audacity to ship NicoMaki and YohaRiko, than for any fic chapters I have posted to tumblr or AO3.

However, I have mentioned a time or two that I deleted my first fanfic.net account due to hate/harassment. But I've done my best to move on from that.

9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?

I have written some smut prior to getting into Love Live, but I have never posted it online for others to see. And I likely never will. And the longer I go without writing it, the less interest I have in doing so again.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Sorta. As mentioned above, I have written DS9 and D&D stuff, but as TTRPGs played by the LL girls. This isn't to say I won't write some crossover AU in the future.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Again, not to my knowledge.

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

I suppose it depends on how one defines cowrite. My D&D story takes place in a world that was already established by my DM. I take pride in expanding their world with my stories and happily brainstorm with them even to this day, despite not having written much in the last decade or so.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

NicoMaki has been established in my eternal flagship, and I do not see that changing anytime soon. And YohaRiko and YuuAyuSetsu are fighting for second place.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I honestly hope I can get around to all of them. But with how things are going, what little I've started writing for my Phatom of the Opera crossover of HtHaN, HL and TA, and my Broken Mirror crossover of every iteration of Yohane across my works.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Finding creative ways of saying things; thesaurus.com is one of my favorite sites.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably exposition. I'm constantly second guessing myself about whether I'm writing enough or too much. Occasionally rereading my posted works, I will wonder what I was thinking dumping so much as to risk distracting the reader, or hoping my readers know what is going on.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I mean I happily use Japanese honorifics in all of my posted works, so that may count. I also occasionally use words that I feel translate awkwardly. However, when someone talks a lot in a language other than the primary one of the scene, and the focus character of the scene understands it, I will simply enclose the dialogue in brackets and mention the language used.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically, Star Trek, but that was years before I posted anything online. I may still have the wide ruled notebooks with those handwritten stories.

Lucky Star was the first fandom for which I posted fics. But the account associated with those works has since been deleted, and I'm also fairly certain my copies were lost in a harddrive crash.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Honestly, How to Handle a Nico (1), will forever hold a special place in my heart as it rekindled my desire to write, having not done so for years. When I first posted that short exchange between adult aged Nico and Maki, mostly as a joke, on School Idol Tomodachi, I never expected that it would turn into the 124 chapter, 224k word collection. Nor that I would follow it up with over 400k words spread across multiple other works. Nor that I would retain the desire to continue writing for the LL franchise over half a decade later.

Transcribing tengwar to Latin letters isn't quite as simple as letter-for-letter substitution, of course, so this is about as condensed as I felt I could make it while still accommodating every possibility and avoiding inaccuracy. (Which my brain wouldn't let me not do.) Realistically you're never going to use most of these unless you're making up a lot of random names.

(This is actually a slightly more digestible summary of a summary. I left the full one below the cut, since I couldn't resist getting pedantic and it got out of hand very quickly. Feel free to skip the rest if you don't want to see the linguistics and etymology behind all this.)

Consonants:

C/K — calma 'lamp' (e.g. Curufinwë)

F — formen 'north' (Fëanáro)

H — hyarmen 'south'

Hl— halla 'tall'

Hr — halla 'tall'

Hw — hwesta 'breeze'

L — lambë 'tongue (as in language)' (Laurefindelë)

M — malta 'gold (as a metal)' (Maitimo)

N — númen 'west' (see below) (Nelyafinwë)

Ñ/N — ñoldo 'Noldo / Deep-Elf' (see below) (Ñolofinwë)

Ñw/Nw — ñwalmë 'torment'

(Which N is 'correct' to use depends on the etymology of the word in question. I go into more detail below the cut.)

(Initial Ws in Quenya all became Vs at some vague point in time, so it's up to you whether you keep it or not.)

Y — anna 'gift' (Yavanna)

Since we don't know the names of most vowels, you can use the carriers instead:

[Long vowel] — ára 'dawn' (Írimë)

Or, in a diphthong, the name of the tengwa used for the second vowel:

For the diminutives you can stick -incë to the end of the word, even replacing the last vowel if it flows better that way. I'm not sure what the equivalent of "big [letter]" would be. Maybe polda- stuck to the beginning? Poldamalta and Maltincë, Big M and Little M, for Maitimo and Makalaurë?

Below the cut I've organized everything "alphabetically" by tengwa instead and gone into more detail on the specific circumstances each one is used in.

This site is a good reference if you want more detail on the different modes and linguistic histories and things. And of course eldamo.org for checking etymologies. I’ll number this list according to the table in Appendix E.

1 tinco: ‘metal’, used for t. Common first initial

2 parma: ‘book’, used for p. Common first initial

3 calma: ‘lamp’, used for c/k. Common first initial

4 quessë: ‘feather’, used for qu. Common first initial

5-8 ando ‘gate’; umbar ‘fate’; anga ‘iron’; ungwë ‘spiderweb’: used for nd, mb, ng, and ngw respectively; never appear initially

9 súlë / þúlë: ‘breath / spirit’ (but NOT as in fëa or disembodied ghost. It’s a complicated word. Root of Manwë’s Súlimo), Fëanor’s infamous þ/s. Common first initial but make sure you don’t mean 29 silmë instead; words originally pronounced þ would still be spelled with súlë.

10 formen: ‘north’, used for f. Common first initial

11 aha: ‘rage’, used for medial h. Never a first initial, see 33 hyarmen or 34 halla.

12 hwesta: ‘breeze’, used for hw. Less common first initial but still perfectly plausible

13-16 anto ‘mouth’; ampa ‘hook’; anca ‘jaws’; unquë ‘hollow (as a noun)’: used for nt, mp, nc, nqu respectively; never appear initially

17 númen: ‘west’, used for n. Common first initial but make sure you don’t mean 19 ñoldo or 20 ñwalmë instead

18 malta: ‘gold (as a metal)’, used for m. Common first initial

19 ñoldo: ‘Noldo / deep-elf’, used for ñ (pronounced like the ng in sing). This sound had been replaced by n by the Third Age, but the Quenya-speakers in Valinor I assume you're talking about would still have been using it, and even after the sound was gone it would likely still have been spelled the same way. If you want to go to the trouble of being 'accurate' (which it's fine if you don't of course! I say through gritted teeth) you’ll want to check if the name you have would use this tengwa.

20 ñwalmë: 'torment', used for ñw. Similar situation to above. I struggled to create an actually appealing name with this one since most of the words spelled with it have such negative connotations, but it's still possible! (If you're interested, Ñwarinetsir means 'eroded river mouth')

21 órë: 'heart (inner mind)', used for r before consonants or at the end of words. Predictably not used initially, see 25 rómen instead

22 vala: 'angelic power', used for v. Common first initial, but like I said, it might be problematic for nicknames.

23 anna: 'gift', used with two dots below for y. Surprisingly common as a first initial actually

24 vilya: 'air', used for w. Another case of two sounds merging; this time initial w became v. Apparently this change was reflected in spelling too, which means unless you're using an old dialect (or you just think w sounds better), this one likely won't be used as a first initial

25 rómen: 'east', used for r before vowels. This one is a common first initial.

26 arda: 'region', used for rd. Never appears initially

27 lambë: 'tongue (as in language)', used for l. Common first initial

28 alda: 'tree', used for ld. Never appears initially

29-30 silmë and silmë nuquerna: 'starlight' and 'silmë reversed', used for s. They're the same letter, but you flip it upside down to fit a vowel on top. Common first initial but make sure you don't mean 9 súlë instead or you'll make Fëanor mad. This is the s that Silmaril starts with.

31-32 essë and essë nuquerna: 'name' and 'essë reversed', used for ss. Never appear initially.

33 hyarmen: 'south', used for initial h. Common first initial but make sure you don't mean 12 hwesta or 34 halla instead

34 halla: 'tall', used in hr and hl. The table in Appendix E has hwesta sindarinwa here, but as the name might suggest, that doesn't appear in Quenya, so I've replaced it with halla. It just looks like a straight vertical line, and it's used in combination with 25 rómen and 27 lambë to make the unvoiced versions hl and hr. There are comparatively few words that start like this, but it's still possible to make names with them.

35 yanta: 'bridge', used for i in diphthongs. If the name starts with ai, oi, or ui, this is the first tengwa.

36 úrë: 'heat', used for u in diphthongs. If the name starts with au or eu (or iu but that can't happen), this is the first tengwa.

If the name starts with a short vowel, the short carrier telco 'leg' would be used, and for a long vowel it would be ára 'dawn'.

There are also two other options naming the combinations ty and ny, tyelpë 'silver' and nyellë 'bell' respectively. (Hence the reference to Tyelkormo being called Tyelpë in the tags of my first reply.)

A bit of an angel/demon au because I’m a sucker for those, so far featuring Gordon HLVRAI, Gordon HL1/2 (because I love doing that crossover), Tommy, and Gman!

So far, lore goes as the Gordons are fallen angels due to befriending Benry (a demon), hence their injuries and piebald wings. Tommy was human, and Gman was trying to play the role of guardian angel even though he wasn’t supposed to, and when Tommy died and came back as a demon, he wasn’t going to abandon him. So he fell too, gladly, and doesn’t regret it for a moment because that’s his son and no one can tell him otherwise.

I don’t quite have other designs yet, but!! Soon, maybe!!

“Jesus Christ.” He whispers, shaking his head and resisting the urge to brush the back of his hand against his lips, erase evidence that isn’t even visible to the naked eye. Harry stands there, as though nothing’s changed, and of course he does, because he’s a statue.

He’s tall—that’s the first thing that registers in Louis’ head when he spots him, standing with his hands behind his back. Tall, with curly hair, staring at them with the widest, greenest eyes Louis has ever seen. And wait, are those dimples? Louis didn’t know ghosts could have dimples.

Because he’s definitely a ghost, this boy. At first glance he looks normal, standing there pigeon-toed in a band shirt (The Ramones, Louis can’t help but note incredulously), dark jeans, and some boots, with rings on both hands, and tattoos littering his left arm—a sleeve made of anchors and names and roses and other completely unrelated things. But he’s also a little bit translucent; if Louis focuses, he can see the outline of the furniture, the design of the wallpaper through him.

“Hi,” the boy—the ghost—says to Louis. His face shifts; somehow his dimples dig deeper into his cheeks. His eyes flit from Louis, to Niall, to Liam, and finally to Zayn, and his face goes from shocked to elated. “I’m Harry.”

At in that exact moment, standing between three of his best friends and staring at a (quite handsome) ghost, Louis can only think one thing.

Nick Grimshaw was right.

Jessica Jones AU in which the dead stay where they belong, featuring Zayn as the high-powered lawyer with a hopeless crush on his assistant Liam, Niall as the constantly stoned but strangely insightful neighbor, Harry as Manhattan’s media darling, and Louis as the never-was hero who’s just trying to pick up the pieces.

✰ Black With Autumn Rain by whimsicule | T | 93k (i actually can’t remember if i’ve read this before??? either way - it was wonderful! loved the setting and atmosphere and the supernatural elements! i was so intrigued from the first sentence onwards)

Harry is a journalist, Louis has lots of secrets and the moors aren’t exactly the ideal place to rekindle a lost romance.
